The official video for the song "The Storm" from the German-Italian melodic metal act THE UNITY can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's sophomore album, "Rise", which will be released on September 14 via SPV/Steamhammer. The recording features 13 brand-new songs and was cut by drummer Michael Ehré (GAMMA RAY) at the B Castle Studio. "Rise" was produced by the bandmembers themselves and, like its predecessor, mixed and mastered by Spanish sound engineer Miquel A. Riutort at the Psychosomatic Recording Studio.
Comments Ehré: "Full of joy and pride we present 'The Storm', the second single and the first official videoclip from our brand new album, 'Rise'. The song is the perfect example for what our music is all about: energy and melody. We hope that you have as much fun watching as we had shooting the clip!"
Aside from Ehré, THE UNITY continues to consist of guitarists Henjo Richter (GAMMA RAY) and Stef, vocalist Gianbattista Manenti, bassist Jogi Sweers and keyboardist Sascha Onnen.
"The new songs reflect the amazing energy and extremely enthusiastic responses at our shows, but also the very positive media reactions," Ehré sums up the material on "Rise".
With its debut album, THE UNITY was unanimously voted "Newcomer Of The Year" category by the two leading German metal magazines, Metal Hammer and Rock Hard. Subsequently, the six-piece enthralled their fans at tours with EDGUY and SINNER and performed at festivals such as Bang Your Head!!!, Metalfest and Winter Masters Of Rock.
Soon after its release, "Rise" will also be presented to THE UNITY's rapidly growing fan base as part of an extensive tour: from mid-October 2018, THE UNITY will accompany AXEL RUDI PELL and his band, and the date of the big release show at Ehré's hometown of Nordenham has already been announced. So the second round of THE UNITY's triumphal march is about to kick off!

Watch the music video for the track "Children" below, featuring a guest appearance by Silver Mountain lead guitarist Jonas Hansson.
Silver Grime guitarist Lindhe comments: "The song 'Children' is about a woman from the past, who took care of poor people's children and let them die. The video is directed by Jonas Hansson. The album Healed By The Dark is a celebration in black, a cavalcade of heavy riffs and dark lyrics. The album is mixed by Anders Hahne."
Silver Grime was founded in 2014 by Lindhe, and they have open up shows for legendary Candlemass. The band is heavily influenced by the bands such as Saint Vitus and Trouble.

Melodic tech-death overlords ARSIS will release "Visitant" on November 2 via Nuclear Blast (North, Central, South America) and Agonia (rest of world). The video for the first single from the upcoming horror movie-inspired opus, "Tricking The Gods", was directed by Rob Neilson and can be seen below.
Guitarist and vocalist James Malone states: "I think 'Visitant' is ARSIS's most mature album but at the same time, it is also an album that harkens back to our youth.
"We all grew up on horror movies. For me personally, my father would bring me, from a very early age, to the theater to see horror films. He passed his love of science fiction and horror down to me.
"I wanted to do something different for this album and it was just a natural move to incorporate this passion into 'Visitant'.
"As I was doing my part of the writing, I tried to capture the tone and atmosphere of some of my favorite films ('Silver Bullet', 'From Beyond', 'Prince Of Darkness'). It was a very satisfying and fun album to write and I think it might be what fans consider a 'worthy follow-up' to 'A Diamond For Disease'.
"'Tricking the Gods' is inspired by my love of werewolf movies, specifically Stephen King's 'Silver Bullet'. I really liked the idea that everyone in the town was looking for this beast and it turned out to be the person they least expected: the minister. That blurred line between good and evil, heaven and hell made perfect song writing fuel."
"Visitant" was recorded in part and mixed and mastered by producer Mark Lewis (WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, DEICIDE, CANNIBAL CORPSE). Artwork was created by longtime collaborator Mark Riddick.
Catch ARSIS on tour this October and November as part of "Bloodletting North America XII" with co-headliners and labelmates DECREPIT BIRTH.

Holter's Vlad the Impaler album will be released on November 9th. A video for the first single “I’ll Die for You” can be found below. Pre-order the album CD/LP/Digital here. An exclusive limited edition version is available on 180g red vinyl here.
Born as a one-off musical extravaganza between two Norwegian metal and hard rock giants, Trond Holter (ex-Wig Wam) and vocalist Jorn Lande, the Dracula Rock Opera has now morphed into a full-time musical project with guitarist, producer, and songwriter Trond Holter at the helm.
While the original plan was to leave Swing Of Death as a unique one-off recording, the success Trond had staging the album as a musical in front of audiences in Norwegian theaters convinced him that a follow up was not only possible, but maybe even mandatory. He was sitting on plenty of material anyway and felt inspired to tell the stories of Dracula and other vampires that did not find a home on the debut album's storyline.
"The first round of the Dracula Rock Opera was, in terms of live shows, only half the story with about 45 minutes of music. So, I added some additional songs for the live shows in Norway, which completed the story,” tells Trond Holter. "It was my intention all along to make this into a big show, even if it took some years to complete. When I started working on the songs for the new album, I found parts of them were outdated, so I rewrote parts of them and that inspired me to write new songs as well. It's a bit hard for me to say being so close to the material, but it's a few steps up the ladder sound wise. You can easily recognize the spirit of the first album, only with more energy. The "Vlad the Impaler" album was made to fill out the musicals being performed for the first album, so it is in fact pretty much the sophomore album from Dracula."
The result of this new inspiration is Vlad The Impaler. Vlad, also known as Vlad Dracula, was Voivode (or prince) of Wallachia three times and is the historical figure that inspired the famous legends about Dracula.
With an outstanding lineup featuring singers Nils K Rue (Pagan's Mind) and Eva Iselin Erichsen, Bernt Jansen on bass, Per Morten Bergseth on drums, and Erling Henanger on keyboards, Vlad The Impaler starts where Swing Of Death left off. Musically, it is an album that gets straight to the point while simultaneously utilizing diverse musical landscapes and includes catchy and melodic songs in a similar style to it's predecessor. Think Savatage meets Meat Loaf meets Queen meets Alice Cooper with contemporary hard rock in the mix and you'll have a sense of what's in store.
"We all know Nils K Rue's great work with Pagan's Mind. The vocals and theatrics he delivers both live and on record are simply amazing! And the higher he gets, the better he sounds!! I came across Eva Iselin Erichsen in 2016 and later, when I got the chance to have her audition, I was blown away. She's all over the place, live and on record, giving everything that she's got. She is an amazing singer and a real star in the making. We are ready to take the whole Rock Opera live across the European continent!” concludes Trond.
The album will be presented in the live setting in Halden, Norway with a special release show on November 10th. More shows are in the works including an appearance in spring at Karmøygeddon Festival (May 3rd. 2019).

Irish thrashers GAMA BOMB have released a music video for new single "Bring Out The Monster". The track is taken from the band's sixth album, "Speed Between The Lines", due out October 12 via AFM Records.
"Speed Between The Lines" was produced by longtime GAMA BOMB collaborator Scott Atkins (CRADLE OF FILTH, SYLOSIS). The album's retro cover art is by New York-based artist Jarred Hageman a.k.a. Chrome And Lightning and Rory McGuigan (Villagers), and the video also features scenes from 1950s public information movies.
Bassist Joe McGuigan on "Speed Between The Lines": "Our aim with this record was keep refining the GAMA BOMB thrash formula. It's got faster and more punky riffing, battling axes and catchy, memorable choruses from Philly, who's back with the Halford / Belladona notes after injuring his voice a few years back."
"Speed Between The Lines" is the sixth studio album from GAMA BOMB in 16 years. The album will be available as CD, clear yellow gatefold vinyl (limited to 250 units), turquoise gatefold vinyl (limited to 250 units), clear/red gatefold and vinyl red/black splatter (limited to 100 units) which is exclusively available in the AFM webshop.
METAL ALLEGIANCE has released the official "beer visualizer" video for "The Accuser", featuring THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER's Trevor Strnad. The song is taken from METAL ALLEGIANCE's sophomore album, "Volume II - Power Drunk Majesty", out now via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
Strnad comments: "I am super honored to have been asked to join METAL ALLEGIANCE as a guest vocalist for the track 'The Accuser'! The list of greats that have contributed to this union of might and metal over the course of these two albums is truly staggering. To be considered a peer to any of these musicians is a high bench mark for achievement. I spit out my coffee when I saw that they chose the song I contributed to to be the opening track for the album… I was simply shocked!"
METAL ALLEGIANCE guitarist Alex Skolnick (also of TESTAMENT) states: "We'd been searching all over for a vocalist on our opening track 'The Accuser' — someone who fit the tune but who could also kick off this album right. One day, while getting ready to go on at Ozzfest/Knotfest, I heard THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER way off in the distance. Trevor Strnad was using many vocal tones and a few felt perfect for the song. I suggested him to [METAL ALLEGIANCE's] Mark [Menghi], and as it turned out, we not only found the right guy for our most aggressive track yet, we also got to bring someone from a new generation of metal into the fold; it's great to have him on board."
Adds Menghi: "The vocalist for 'The Accuser' had to fit a certain mold and sing these lyrics with honest conviction — he or she had to be willing to dig deep and understand what we were speaking of lyrically. Enter Trevor Strnad, who absolutely nailed it.
"It seems that in today's society, it's very easy to blame a person (or persons) for something in order to save their own ass and cover up their own lies with heinous accusations. Someone once told me that the greatest fiction novels are the ones with the most detail; unfortunately, that's how society works today and it's sad for the people that truly need the help."
METAL ALLEGIANCE — with its four core members: David Ellefson (MEGADETH), Alex Skolnick (TESTAMENT), Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, ex-DREAM THEATER) and Mark Menghi — began as a celebration of heavy metal, powered by the almost tribal bond shared between the extreme music community's most revered trailblazers, armed with a list of contributors onstage (and off) that read like a Wikipedia entry on the genre itself.
Other guest musicians on "Volume II - Power Drunk Majesty" include John Bush (ARMORED SAINT, ANTHRAX), Max Cavalera (SOULFLY), Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth (OVERKILL), Mark Tornillo (ACCEPT), Floor Jansen (NIGHTWISH) and Johan Hegg (AMON). The album also marks the return of Mark Oseguesda (DEATH ANGEL) and Troy Sanders (MASTODON).
"Volume II - Power Drunk Majesty" was produced by Menghi and Skolnick while Mark Lewis of MRL Studios handled the mixing and mastering. The cover artwork was created by renowned artist Marcelo Vasco (SLAYER, MACHINE HEAD, SOULFLY, HATEBREED) and Rafael Tavares.

For this album, the band teamed up with famed Canadian engineer Jay Ruston.
"Working with Jay was amazing!" says Mick Box. "He totally understood what we were going for on this album and he delivered big time. We wanted a HEEP album that the band and the fans would be proud of, and with Jay at the helm, we have delivered that."
When asked what people can expect from the new album, Box says "There are rock songs, rock ballads, and a couple of prog songs encompassing everything HEEP."
Shaw adds that fans should also be ready for "a full-blown rockin' URIAH HEEP record. All the traits that made HEEP famous in the past are here on this new album. Passion, power, harmony and substance. HEEP trademarks from the first riff."
The band is beyond excited with the material written for the new album, which will include some epic additions to the band's huge catalog of rock staples and looks forward to sharing it with its fans around the world.
The band has announced a full world tour which will last until the whole first quarter of 2019.

The lyrics for "Grazed By Heaven" were written by SONS OF APOLLO frontman Jeff Scott Soto and the music was written by bassist Dave Rimmer.
Says Jeff Scott Soto: "The song is clearly about sexual tension and desire, very much in the form of 'Fifty Shades Of Grey', putting oneself at ease with the person who is taking control of the situation and trusting you will be in absolute bliss. Fantasy and lust is the calling card here; it's quite black and white, really. The song is very sexy so naturally called for a sexy lyric."
Rimmer adds: "'Grazed' was born out of my desire to write a blazing HEEP rock track. I put together the music and arrangement but needed a very strong melody line/lyric to match the music and the riff... I have been a fan of Jeff Scott Soto's voice and writing for many years so asked Jeff about a collaboration. He loved the song and came up with the perfect and powerful lyric/melody… a very natural seamless collaboration between Jeff and I. A true 'Living The Dream' moment for me."
"Wolves Ov Siberia", the new video from Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "I Loved You At Your Darkest", which will be released on October 5 via Nuclear Blast. While it certainly seems an unlikely title for a black metal band, its origin might surprise fans even more than the words themselves. "It's a verse from the Bible," frontman Nergal reveals. "It's actually a quote from Jesus Christ himself. For BEHEMOTH to use it as the basis of our record, it's sacrilege to the extreme."
Of course, BEHEMOTH is no stranger to blasphemy. Over the course of the last 27 years, they've pushed the boundaries of black metal and heresy alike. While anti-Christian sentiment might seem like stale bread where most metal bands are concerned, for BEHEMOTH such ideas represent a very real threat to their physical freedom. Time and again, the government of their native Poland has charged them with various "crimes" such as tearing up a bible onstage in 2007 and using the Polish coat of arms on a BEHEMOTH t-shirt in 2017. "Obviously, stuff like that can piss you off. But I think it's good to be pissed off," Nergal says with a laugh. "Anger can be a massive driving force, especially when you make extreme music. But politically and socially, Poland is a very disparate country. You can never feel totally safe here. That makes it easier for me to get inspiration. If I lived in Holland or Australia, I don't think I'd be doing what I do now. You can do or be anything you want there. I'm a huge fan of that kind of freedom, but I don't really have it here. Struggling with that on a daily basis makes me who I am, and fuels my passion for this music."
Nergal and his bandmates — Orion (bass) and Inferno (drums) — have channeled that passion into "I Loved You At Your Darkest". A crushing salvo of black metal majesty replete with hellish riffs, thundering drum cannonades and soaring liturgical choirs reminiscent of classic horror cinema, the album is also bejeweled with nimble-fingered rock guitar solos on songs like "God = Dog", "Ecclesia Diabolica Catholica" and "Sabbath Mater".
"I really wanted to redefine ourselves with this record," Nergal explains. "'I Loved You At Your Darkest' is a more dynamic record. It's extreme and radical on one hand, but it's also more rock-oriented than any other BEHEMOTH record."
Nergal doesn't view the heightened rock influence as a conscious creative decision so much as a renewed interest in the historical origins of the music he makes. "We don't give consideration to musical direction, we simply create what naturally comes to us," he says. "But 15 years ago, if you had asked me who I thought was the best band on the planet, I probably would have said MAYHEM or MORBID ANGEL. Today if you asked me, I'd say AC/DC. That should give you a clear indication of why this album is more rock-based. It all comes down to the songwriting."
Lyrically, "I Loved You At Your Darkest" revels in the kind of religious provocation that BEHEMOTH do best. "It's very religion-driven, maybe more than anything we've done before," Nergal offers. "But it's not just cheap goading. I believe this is some deeper metal language. It's art."
Unlike "The Satanist", which was primarily recorded in one studio, "I Loved You At Your Darkest" saw its production spread across Poland and the United States. It was produced by the bandmembers themselves, with drum co-production by Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES), mixing by Matt Hyde (SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM) and mastering by Tom Baker (NINE INCH NAILS, MARILYN MANSON). Which is to say nothing of the 17-piece Polish orchestra arranged by Jan Stoklosa and engineered by Tomasz Budkiewicz. Or as Nergal sums it up: "Pretty much every instrument was recorded in a different studio, and a lot of amazing people were involved."
ABORTED's new album, "TerrorVision", will be released on September 21 via Century Media Records. The artwork was created by Pär Olofsson (EXODUS, IMMOLATION, IMMORTAL).
The official video for the disc's latest single, "Vespertine Decay", can be seen below.
Comments ABORTED frontman Sven De Caluwé: "The album talks about a lot of things that have been happening in the last couple of years where the public opinion is clearly being molded and manipulated. There have been studies in communication showing that 55% of communication is non-verbal impact, 38% is verbal communication and the actual message is only important for about 7% of it. I know retarded figures that don't mean much by themselves, if not telling us that people don't give a fuck about what you're selling, as long as you package it right and the media/politicians know this all too well. The rise of ISIS has a lot to thank to the media as well, bigotry, racism all tools used by media to remove the eye on the actual problems for the human race as a whole and our planet.
"It’s not so death metal in itself, but it's all packaged in our depraved little ABORTED sauce of dark humor and gross thesaurus bullshit language while containing a pretty strong message!"
With "The Necrotic Manifesto" and ABORTED's last album, "Retrogore", already showcasing what the band is capable of, "TerrorVision" lifts death metal to a higher level of intensity, atmosphere and brutality. Produced by Kristian "Kohle" Kohlmannslehner at Kohlekeller Studios, "TerrorVision" is not just a new chunk of high-class brutal death metal, it's a piece of art pushing the boundaries of the entire genre by combining over-the-top musicianship with skilled songwriting, a clear yet organic production and inexorable brutality that has no equals.
"TerrorVision" will be available in the following formats:
* Standard CD jewelcase
* Gatefold LP+CD
* Limited box set (with digipak CD, bonus CD with the tracks of the "Bathos" EP, black belt with metal belt buckle, sticker set and button set)

VOIVOD drummer Michel "Away" Langevin commented: "After a very cool summer playing festivals in North America, we are now refreshing the setlist with new material and old classics for the upcoming Euro tour. Aside from the first single 'Obsolete Beings', we added our new seven-inch 'Always Moving' to the show and we are pleased to present the video for it. See you soon on the road!"

Away told Sonic Perspectives about "The Wake": "This is one of the most intricate albums we've done, for sure. The songs are pretty long and complicated and lots of prog rock moments, a bit of psychedelia, of course, our punk/thrash metal signature is still there. So, it's vintage VOIVOD with a new twist with Rocky [Dominique Laroche, bass] and Chewy [Daniel Mongrain, guitar], there's sort of a futuristic touch to the band nowadays."
Asked whether "The Wake" is a collaborative VOIVOD album, Away said: "With VOIVOD, Chewy is the main writer. We do bring a lot of ideas, but it was basically the same when Piggy was in the band. He was the main writer. Sometimes, material will be pulled from improvisations we do at the rehearsal room where we record everything. So, Chewy had to rearrange the best parts into songs, but quite often, he'll come with riffs and songs mostly written and once in a while, I come up with a beat. Rocky brought a lot of riffs as well. It's collaborative at first, but Chewy is the guy to arrange everything."
VOIVOD's first European touring run in support of "The Wake" will feature the following rotating support acts: MAGGOT HEART (September 7-16), NIGHTRAGE (September 18-26) and BIO-CANCER (September 28 - October 20).

Prolific in output and undeniably fierce in execution, Eastern Sierra black/death metal quartet Valdur will release their new album Goat Of Iniquity on October 19th via Bloody Mountain Records. Check out the video for "Divine Halls Of Obscurity, Pt. 1" below.
The band released this statement concerning the forthcoming album: "Valdur - Goat Of Iniquity: another chain of songs containing deep extremities and primitive, suffocating atmospheres. This is not a continuation of our previous release; this album moves backwards in a far more violent structure and sound; like a death metal cassette from 1988. Goat Of Iniquity was recorded by us and us alone in the Bloody Mountain Bunker, with no triggers or other redundant studio shortcuts. Vicious underground metal recorded in a live setting. Not for trendy ears! For Valdur, Goat Of Iniquity is another step deeper into the obscure halls of integrity."
Goat Of Iniquity will be available in digipack format as well as digital download, along with a new t-shirt design exclusive to this release.

This summer, female-fronted melodic metal band Vintersea had the opportunity to embark on our first tour with The Anima Effect and The Devils of Loudun. Covering three states and over 2,000 miles, Vintersea traversed some of the United States' most beautiful locations during the Summer Prognosis 2018 tour. A new video for “The Gravity Of Fall” is streaming below.
Following the release of "The Gravity Of Fall", Vintersea will be providing direct live support to Australian melodic metal titans Ne Obliviscaris during the Portland, OR date of their upcoming U.S. Tour.
Following the first leg of a massive World Tour in North America during April and May, it is now time kick off the next leg and bring The Shadow Theory overseas. Kamelot is returning to Europe for their biggest headliner tour to date. Special guests on the tour include Leaves' Eyes, Visions Of Atlantis, Dynazty (Sweden), Circus Maximus (Oslo) vocalist Lauren Hart (Once Human) and more.
Just in time for the upcoming tour, the band has released a brand new music video for the track "MindFall Remedy". The live footage is taken from Kamelot's North American tour and just offers a glimpse of what you can expect when the band takes the stage.
"The North American Tour was our biggest ever and we had to chronicle it in some way, the fans were so amazing. We decided to shoot this video and mix in scenes from the tour. We cannot wait to return to the US and Canada for the next run!," states Thomas Youngblood.
The meaning of the song and title "MindFall Remedy" sparks some debate, but singer Tommy Kaverik sums it up beautifully: "In this material world, full of vanity and beautifying filters, it is easy to turn to those things when looking for validation and comfort. We have come to expect external gratification to lift us up, solve our insecurities and give us a meaningful existence. With this song we want to encourage people to look inside themselves for answers. Only then can we fully learn to respect and love ourselves and grow as people. There is a way to unlock your inhibitions, and only you possess the key..."

Former JOURNEY vocalist Steve Perry has released the official music video for his latest solo single, "No More Cryin'". The song is taken from "Traces", his first solo album in more than two decades, which will be released on October 5 via Fantasy Records (a division of Concord Records/UMG). Co-written by Perry and Dan Wilson (SEMISONIC, ADELE), the track is a soulful reflection on isolation and love.
Perry states: "'No More Cryin'' is a love song, but not in the way you would think. It starts in one place, and builds and lands somewhere entirely different. It's got many overtones, and can be applied to so many different kinds of relationships, including my own relationship with past isolation."
"Traces" marks Perry's first solo album since 1994's "For The Love Of Strange Medicine", which was certified gold in the U.S. for sales in excess of half a million copies.
Perry told "Scott Shannon In The Morning" about his decision to step away from music for more than two decades: "The band was really, really fortunate to be successful, and at some point, I got a little bit toasty, a little burned out, and coupled with a serious touring schedule, and, like I said, being crispy, and back in the day, we all had a little bit of what we might call 'extra party behaviors,' maybe — and when you put the 'party behaviors' together with a little bit burned out, I was toast.
"It was an unpopular decision I came up with at the time, which was just to stop," he continued. "And I told the band, and they were not happy about it. But the biggest thing I was really concerned with was the fans. Because I knew it was gonna be a painful decision for me to walk away, but sometimes you just have to take care of yourself, even if it hurts to do so — you have to do that."
Asked if he planned on being gone for so long, Perry replied: "I did not plan to be gone so long. But once I stopped, there was something great about just stopping. I went back to my hometown and hung out with friends. I rode my motorcycle on these country roads on the outskirts of Fresno, where I was born and raised, and I've gotta tell you — there was something cathartic about just stopping."
Perry reiterated a previous comment he made about wanting "to be a person again" after his exit from JOURNEY. "I think that's pretty accurate," he said. "I just wanted to step out of the limelight. Being successful in a band like that, it was like… I know it sounds a little bit self-serving, but it really was kind of like circling the earth — you're kind of up there, you've gotta come down, you've gotta land, you've gotta touch down, you've gotta go back to your hometown and just be you, not the guy that was on the stage every night.
"But I must tell you — did I miss it? It was terrible!" he admitted. "It was a detox in its own way, you know? Because the adoration of the fans every night and the applause and being able to live the dream…. 'Cause I came from a small town, and it was a dream to get in the music business to start with, but to be able to be successful like JOURNEY was, it was a dream come true, so walking was tough."

Perry's final full concert with JOURNEY took place in early 1987. He later rejoined his bandmates for a brief performance in 1991 to honor late concert promoter Bill Graham. He also appeared with JOURNEY when they received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2005.
The singer was inducted, alongside his old band, at the 2017 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony in Brooklyn, New York.
