''Arnold Layne'' was Pink Floyd's first single, released in 1967. The video, directed by Derek Nice, was made in late February 1967 and was filmed on the beach in East Wittering, West Sussex, England. The song was later published on the 1971 album Relics, the 1983 Works and the album Echoes: The Best Of Pink Floyd. It is also included in the Early Years box set.
Pink Floyd's "Not Now John" was released in 1983 and was the only single released from the album The Final Cut. "Not Now John" is the only song on the album with David Gilmour as the lead vocalist singing the verses and Roger Waters singing the refrains and interludes. Watch this rare video:
"One of These Days" is the opening track from Pink Floyd's 1971 album Meddle. The song is instrumental and only has one spoken/sung sentence by drummer Nick Mason, "One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces." This video was created the British artist and filmmaker Ian Emes who became widely known for his creative animations and for being the original animator for Pink Floyd.
Pink Floyd released "Point Me At The Sky" as their fifth UK single in 1968. The song has become one of the rarest official recordings of Pink Floyd and was not successful at the time, with it's B-side "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" becoming more popular.
Pink Floyd's "Paintbox'', written and sung by keyboardist Richard Wright, was first released in 1967 as the B-side to the single "Apples And Oranges". The promotional film was shot for a Belgian television programme. In the video, the band is miming to the song on a bridge in Brussels. This is David Gilmour's first appearance on film with Pink Floyd.
"Apples And Oranges" is the third UK single by Pink Floyd, released in 1967. It was the final song written by Syd Barrett with the group. After David Gilmour replaced Syd Barrett, the band recorded a promotional video in Belgium in a fruit market with Roger Waters lip-synching to the song.
All of the above tracks are included in The Early Years 1965–1972. Get it here.
On September 28th, Pink Floyd Records will release, for the first time on vinyl, A Foot In The Door - The Best Of Pink Floyd, a collection of classic Pink Floyd tracks, chosen by members of the band.
Originally released in 2011 on CD only, the artwork for this compilation is the last work of long-term Floyd designer, the late Storm Thorgerson. This is the perfect Pink Floyd album for both devoted fans and those discovering their music for the very first time.
The career-spanning compilation features some of the best-known album tracks from 1967 - 1994, including the band’s first UK Top 10 single "See Emily Play", and the iconic "Wish You Were Here", "Comfortably Numb", "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and "High Hopes".
The tracks have been newly mastered for vinyl by longstanding Pink Floyd associate James Guthrie, with Joel Plante, and with lacquers cut by Bernie Grundman of Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles, California. The 2-LP version features the reinstated version of "Time", with the ringing alarm clocks at the start of the track restored, after being omitted on the CD release.
The original sleeve design, has been amended by Pink Floyd Creative Director Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis and Peter Curzon, to include alternate versions of the photographs used in the original CD version. The album package comes in a gatefold outer sleeve, with two separate printed inner bags, and is pressed on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl.

German metal queen Doro Pesch has released the official music video for the song "It Cuts So Deep". The track is taken from Doro's new album, "Forever Warriors, Forever United", which is being released today (Friday, August 17) via Nuclear Blast.
Sauys Doro: "I wrote this together with David Bryant because I love doing ballads with a keyboardist and pianos. And he is renowned! It's a very sensitive song and I think it's one of my finest ballads.
"We have toured very intensively over the past few years, gathering so many impressions along the way and meeting so many great people. That really inspired me. The songs and ideas literally flooded our minds and this also didn't stop in the studio. From over 50 song ideas, we quickly had 14 songs for an album, then suddenly 20 and in the end it was 24."
"Forever United" takes a more sentimental turn, with lyrical topics covering friendship, love and companionship. Highlights include Doro's tribute to the late and great Lemmy.
With "Forever Warriors, Forever United", Doro presents two new records, featuring 19 regular tracks and six bonus songs.
This unique songwriting marathon was based on "Living Life To The Fullest" back in January 2016. Says Doro: "I was flying to Lemmy's funeral when the track's melody and lyrics suddenly came to mind. Lemmy was always very important to me. Everything went quickly from this point. As soon as a song was constructed, I headed to the studio — between all those shows and tours — to capture the freshness and live energy of the new tracks."
The album cover artwork was once again created by Doro's favorite artist, Geoffrey Gillespie. It portrays Doro in the middle of a swarm of wild metal heads exuding attitude, power and positive vibes.
"The cover and the title form a perfect unit," Doro explains, "Just as it should be. It all fits perfectly in line with the songs, which also deal with some political themes."
The long-awaited follow-up to 2012's "Raise Your Fist" is the German singer's first release since 2016's "Love's Gone To Hell" single.
Last year, Pesch celebrated the 30th anniversary of WARLOCK's "Triumph And Agony" album by performing the LP in its entirety at select shows around the globe.
The official music video for "Who I Am", a new song from GIOELI - CASTRONOVO, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's debut album, "Set The World On Fire", which was released on July 13 via Frontiers Music Srl.
Johnny Gioeli and Deen Castronovo first played together on the debut HARDLINE album, "Double Eclipse", which was released in 1992. 25 years later, the two were reunited in Italy to commence work on "Set The World On Fire".
"It was so great to work with Johnny again," says Castronovo. "I've always loved his voice and it was a pleasure to be a part of this collaboration. It was like we'd never left each other."
"It was like the first day he tried to hold my hand and kiss me in 1992," says Gioeli. "Ha Ha!!! KIDDING! Seriously, I never left Deen. Deen never left me, so reuniting was easy. Counting our blessings were plentiful. Singing together was magical."
Both men have continued on their musical paths since they last saw one another, with Gioeli continuing to lead HARDLINE, while Castronovo spent time with Ozzy Osbourne and had an extended tour of duty with the legendary JOURNEY. Castronovo is currently active with THE DEAD DAISIES and REVOLUTION SAINTS in addition to GIOELI-CASTRONOVO.
Gioeli's vocal talents combined with Deen's superb drumming abilities (and whom is also a fine vocalist in his own right) has made for a stunning album that is driving a driving hard rock record, while also chock full of uplifting melodies and poignant lyrical messages.

New Wave Of British Heavy Metal veterans TYGERS OF PAN TANG have released a music video for "The Devil You Know", a song from their latest, self-titled album.
"Tygers Of Pan Tang" was released in October 2016 on LP, limited picture LP, CD and through all digital services.
Much has been written about the role the TYGERS played in the establishment of the movement and about the comings and goings within the band, but it is safe to say that the current lineup brings a creative stability and a shared camaraderie that will keep them together, playing live and making records for some time to come.
2016 began the signing of a new record deal with Scandinavia's premier rock and metal label Mighty Music, giving the band the opportunity to record the material they had written and honed in a burst of activity in late 2015. While the band were happy to produce themselves at The Blast Studio in Newcastle, they knew that the mix needed a fresh pair of ears.
Mighty Music CEO Michael H. Andersen recommended Søren Andersen of Medley Studio for the mix of the album. Having heard and been impressed by material recorded and mixed by Søren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Mike Tramp), the TYGERS sought out his services. Søren was only too happy to work with a band whose credentials were so firmly established. For the mastering, Harry Hess of HAREM SCAREM fame was the perfect man for the job.
TYGERS OF PAN TANG founder/guitarist Robb Weir told Decibel Geek about "Tygers Of Pan Tang": "We recorded the album in January [2016] in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, our hometown, We set aside three weeks for the album and used the first two to do the proper recording and the last week for mixing the album. I started out mixing the album and putting it all together, but at a certain point, it all came to a halt. Our Danish record company suggested we should try Søren Andersen. He basically did a tremendous job putting 57 channels together and made it sound great."
DEVOUR THE DAY has released a new single and accompanying music video for "The Censor", taken from the band's upcoming studio album, "Signals", due on October 26 via Razor & Tie.
Says DEVOUR THE DAY: "There is a quote by Elizabeth Gilbert that goes like this: 'Art is a crushing chore and a wonderful privilege. The work wants to be made, and it wants to be made through you.' We are honored to be the channels and to have received these signals. We cannot take ownership for our place, it is through this process that we find our own purpose. We are indebted to our community for the gift of this responsibility."
"Signals" track listing:
01. One Shot
02. Faithless
03. Into The Night
04. Red Flower
05. Headspill
06. The Censor
07. Give It Up
08. Cliffhanger
09. Loudmouth
10. Nothing Is Enough
11. Wonderful Creatures
12. Under The Overpass
DEVOUR THE DAY is also creating a six-part documentary series telling the story of its #soundtracktoYOURstory tour, and all the amazing people the band has met along the way, which will be launched in the weeks leading up to the release of "Signals". To craft the series, DEVOUR THE DAY teamed up with Vers Creative, a global branding agency that specializes in authentic storytelling, as well as the award-winning team at Neighborhood Film Company, who have created Oscar-qualifying short films and worked with global brands like Nike, Coke, Reebok and Universal. In the spirit of community, this campaign will also be bolstered by a host of industry-leading sponsors all committed to this groundbreaking, grassroots campaign.
Cleveland, Ohio-based metal veterans MUSHROOMHEAD will release their new DVD, "Volume III" — the follow-up "Volume 1" (2005) and "Volume 2" (2008) — tomorrow, August 17. The DVD features over 90 minutes of new material, including stunning new music videos, backstage antics, and exclusive never-seen-before content.
Following up on their terrifying, cinema-quality music video for the alternate version of MUSHROOMHEAD's track "We Are The Truth" (which has garnered over 1.7 million views since its release in early July), the band is thrilled to reveal another new music video cut from "Volume III" and its most recent album, "The Righteous & The Butterfly", this time for the track "Devils Be Damned". Watch the video below.
The clip is a complete DIY production filmed on location at the historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio — known as one of the most haunted buildings in the country and the main setting of the 1994 cinematic classic "The Shawshank Redemption", starring Hollywood legends Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins.
In a recent interview with Ultimate Guitar, MUSHROOMHEAD producer/drummer/founder Steve "Skinny" Felton explained: "'Devils Be Damned' [was filmed at] the Mansfield Prison [Ohio State Reformatory] which is also the prison where the movie 'The Shawshank Redemption' was filmed. So there's a cool backstory there. There's a scene [in the video] where the little girl is crawling through the tunnel — that's the same tunnel that Tim Robbins crawled through at the end of the movie; you know, the whole 'Andy Dufresne who crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side' line — that's the same tunnel she crawled through."
MUSHROOMHEAD will headline the inaugural edition of the "Summer Of Screams Tour" presented by Scream Factory and Dread Central. Joining MUSHROOMHEAD on the tour will be POWERMAN 5000 (on select dates), THE BROWNING, PSYCHOSTICK (on select dates), KISSING CANDICE, UNSAID FATE, VOODOO TERROR TRIBE (on select dates), and EARTH CALLER (on select dates).
The "Summer Of Screams Tour" will run for 25 shows across North America, beginning on August 17 and running until September 15.
MUSHROOMHEAD's March 17 concert at Music Lynxx in Mentor-on-the-Lake, Ohio marked the band's first appearance with new vocalist Steve Rauckhorst (bassist of PITCH BLACK FORECAST) and guitarist Tommy "Tankx" Shaffner (also of VENTANA).
Guitarist Tommy Church announced his departure from MUSHROOMHEAD on March 9. The musician had been with the band since 2012.
Church made his recording debut with MUSHROOMHEAD on the band's eighth studio album, "The Righteous & The Butterfly", which was released in May 2014 via Megaforce Records.
Church's exit from MUSHROOMHEAD came only a day after co-vocalist Jeffrey Nothing, also known as Jeff Hatrix (born Jeffrey Lewis Hetrick), said he was leaving the Cleveland, Ohio metal band he co-founded in 1993 with Felton.
Pennsylvania metal band Tallah have released a video for the single "Cottonmouth" off of their self released No One Should Read This EP. Just one week ago, Tacoma, Washington natives Aethereus finally released their new album Absentia through The Artisan Era. The group's take on progressive death metal deftly combines elements of atmospheric death metal, ferocious technical death metal, and more overtly melodic death metal focused ends of the spectrum into a sound all their own. Aethereus cites influences ranging from Obscura, Spawn of Possession, Cynic, and Gorod which rightly shows in the ambitious and smartly crafted songs found on Absentia.
The band has premiered the new video for “That Which Is Left Behind”:
Guitarist Kyle Chapman comments on the release of Absentia: “Work on Absentia started back in January of 2016 shortly after the release of Ego Futurus. Shaun and Kyle had already been working on mapping out new songs and developing potential lyrical concepts. However, because of Shaun’s untimely passing, the album became something completely different. It went from a sort of weird self-indulgent sci-fi story to be about depression and loss, becoming both a point of frustration and catharsis. Absentia is loosely structured around the Kübler-Ross Five Stages of Grief (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance). Musically, lyrically, and conceptually, the album follows the stages of grief and describes the experience of losing a loved one and the lasting impact that person’s absence has on an individual, a group, and life as a whole. It begins in a chaotic and bombastic manner, goes into some somber places, but ultimately ends on a somewhat hopeful note."

With the band's new single, "When The Curtain Falls", already Top 10 at rock radio and nearly eight million streams to its credit, GRETA VAN FLEET presents the companion music video, a performance piece that finds the band in an esoteric foreign landscape filled with mystical symbolism, celestial events and otherworldly psychedelia. Filmed in Southern California and conceived and directed by acclaimed visual effects artist Benjamin Kutsko ("The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button", "Iron Man"), it can be seen below.
GRETA VAN FLEET performed "When The Curtain Falls" on the July 26 episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon".
The band's full-length debut is tentatively due before the end of the year.
Asked how the making of the new disc was different to the way GRETA VAN FLEET recorded its first two EPs, "Black Smoke Rising" and "From The Fires", guitarist Jake Kiszka told the DOMKcast: "It has some commonalities, but as far as [how] those two things differ, we had the ability to sit down with all the material that have written and go, 'Okay, now we have the ability to put something together that is a complete thought.' Whereas EPs are just kind of concepts — just short pieces — where now we have something that is one full complete thought.
"Because we'd stopped touring — we had pretty much been rigorously touring for the last maybe year and a half — we had these two weeks where all of this material started to kind of come to us," he continued. "I'd say about 50 percent of the album was material that was spontaneously written within the actual recording process of the album. So we started tracking a bunch of things that we've been writing while recording, and we'd just throw it down at the end of the night and have [basic] tracks to work from.
"In the similar light to 'Black Smoke Rising' and 'From The Fires', there was a collection of material that spanned probably about three years ago and material that was written right on the spot. And as we went along, [we would go], 'Okay, this song kind of fits here, and that leads to this,' and that helped us navigate what we wanted to put on the album."
GRETA VAN FLEET played in Michigan clubs for six years before rocketing to the top of the rock radio charts last year with "Highway Tune". The track is taken from the "Black Smoke Rising" EP.

US-based hard rock/metal band Vandallus have released an official live video for the song "Heart Attacker", taken from the album Bad Disease, out on September 28th via Pure Steel Records. Watch the video below. The album will be available as CD, DL and limited edition vinyl.
With Shaun Vanek (guitars and vocals), aka Vanik, and Steve Dukuslow (drums) Vandallus from Cleveland, Ohio do indeed feature the core of the mighty Midnight in their ranks. The current line-up is completed by Jason Vanek (vocals, guitar), with Tyler Harvey (Deadiron) on guitar and Tim Frederick (Wretch, Eternal Legacy, Destructor) on bass respectively. Although the band is Jason’s baby, Midnight boss Jamie Walters also contributed a few songs to Vandallus' debut effort On The High Side, which saw the light of day on High Roller Records in 2016.
“Vandallus is a totally different project from Midnight,” states Jason Vanek, “basically the idea came about of recording material in the vein of late 1970s/early 1980s hard rock. I've always wanted to do a project like this, so it came together very quickly.”
“We just wanted to write another batch of great hard rock songs!” comments Vanek on the second full-length Vandallus album Bad Disease. With songs like the uplifting “Heart Attacker”, the infectious speedster “Infected” (sounding very much like 1979 Dokken) and “Trash Talk'n”, a groovy rocker carried by a strong vocal performance, the new album carries on where the critically acclaimed On The High Side has left off.
The official music video for "No Erasin'", the first single from former JOURNEY singer Steve Perry's forthcoming solo album, "Traces", can be seen below. The disc will be released on October 5 via Fantasy Records (a division of Concord Records/UMG)
"Traces" marks Perry's first solo album since 1994's "For The Love Of Strange Medicine", which was certified gold in the U.S. for sales in excess of half a million copies.
In a message posted on his official web site and social media accounts, Perry said: "Years ago, I disappeared. There were many reasons, but mainly my love for music had suddenly left me. I knew that simply stopping was what I had to do if music was ever to return to my heart. Then and only then I would figure out what to do. If not… so be it. For I had already lived the dream of dreams.
"Many years passed. One day I began sketching some musical ideas with the creative freedom that I was the only one who would ever hear them. One song led to many. My love for music had returned. Then another beautiful thing happened. I found love.
"My precious Kellie gave me a life I never knew I had. I lost her December of 2012. I now deeply understand the meaning of: 'It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.'
"May of 2015, I began recording.
"These songs are special to me. I respectfully ask that you please listen to them, and whatever they make you feel, I thank you for listening."

Perry will promote his new solo disc and discuss his plans for the future during an appearance on the October 7 edition of "CBS Sunday Morning".
Last year, Perry told ABC Radio that his next solo album was inspired by a personal tragedy. He explained: "I met someone and I feel in love with this person. And I lost this person to breast cancer four years ago. In the midst of that, I had written some songs, and before I met her, I had sketched some. And so about a year ago, I started recording."
He continued: "Basically the record is an emotional expression, and a reason to make one. It's been a real cathartic experience going back to that emotional place that I thought I would never go back to. And we really have been doing our very best to capture what I think are some timeless songs."
Perry's final full concert with JOURNEY took place in early 1987. He later rejoined his bandmates for a brief performance in 1991 to honor late concert promoter Bill Graham. He also appeared with JOURNEY when they received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2005.
The singer was inducted, alongside his old band, at the 2017 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony in Brooklyn, New York.
In addition to Perry, Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory, Gregg Rolie and Aynsley Dunbar were inducted, as well as current drummer Steve Smith, who's on his third run with the group.
NONPOINT's music video for the song "Chaos And Earthquakes" can be viewed below. The track is taken from the band's tenth album, "X", which will be released on August 24. The follow-up to 2016's "The Poison Red" was produced by Fred Archambault, who has previously worked with ATREYU and AVENGED SEVENFOLD, among others.
"We've had our moments in videos before when we capture the vision, or attitude and even the energy of our live shows," said singer Elias Soriano. "But this video is the closest I've ever seen us get to capturing all of them in one so well. The director Eric Richter and his team really caught lighting in a bottle with the band's performance and the vision of the music in this video brilliantly."
In a recent interview with Bods Mayhem Hour, Soriano stated about working with Archambault: "['The Poison Red' producer] Rob [Ruccia] also worked on this record as well. He not only played bass, but he was mainly the engineer of this record because it's the studio he works out of, the Uptown [Recording], he is their head engineer. He's an amazing friend and dare I say, sixth member of the band.
"We've done a lot of records ourselves and when we get the opportunity to work with somebody with Fred… Originally, it was supposed to be Brian Virtue, which we were really excited about. But, unfortunately, he had a really dire family emergency he couldn't step away from, wholeheartedly knowing he could get a phone call and he'd have to go back home. We understood where he was coming from. The label got on the phone, got people we were speaking to as well as Brian in the beginning. Got them on the phone and had a great conversation with Fred and he jumped right in. It was a great process. He's a real positive dude who loves to work ideas, loves to add layers and really set a mood and add DNA to a song. He just, you know, pretty much, he loves what we were doing with the writing of our music. He just, like he said in the phone call, he just really wanted to make it sound like the most powerful NONPOINT that we've ever put out."
Elias added that "X" ended up being "the fastest record that we've ever recorded because we were so prepared going in. It was really just about tracking it, but I would say [it took about] 25, 26 days. Like I said, the music was written. It was just about making it as sound as great as we could. I mean, like I said, the songs were already written. We went in with the pre-production already done. We had already decided what we wanted. After that, it's just performance and making sure you get the right tones. Fred's a professional, Rob Ruccia is a professional. We're on our tenth record, so we went in prepared."
"Breakwater", the new video from Finnish metallers WOLFHEART, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's long-awaited fourth full-length studio album, "Constellation Of The Black Light", which will be released on September 28 via Napalm Records.
WOLFHEART leader Tuomas Saukkonen stated about the clip: "Again it was an adventure in every meaning of word to go through this video process from beginning to the end. It included, for example, swimming in +2-degree glacier water in Iceland and having significant plastic parts in our backline turned into a liquid form. And the adventure will continue since 'Breakwater' is just the first of total amount of three videos carrying a bigger story."
WOLFHEART's music embraces the sheer force and beauty of Finnish nature with fiery passion. After the success of their first three albums that all hit the Top 10 in the Finnish album charts, among them their last album, "Tyhjyys", which charted in Switzerland as well, the time has come to unleash the next masterpiece of raw winter metal! "Constellation Of The Black Light" comes with seven tracks that dive headfirst into black metal, nordic death metal, soaring melodies and complex arrangements.
Commented Saukkonen on the new album: "Determination and perseverance were the key points in the making this album while conquering obstacle after obstacle during the process of recordings while coldness and beauty of winter were the themes where the music was born.
"This is definitely a triumph in WOLFHEART career and one of the biggest battles won in my personal career. I could not be more satisfied with the result, and with new label and management behind us, we are headstrong to stay in the bath of victories."
"Constellation Of The Black Light" track listing:
01. Everlasting Fall
02. Breakwater
03. The Saw
04. Forge With Fire
05. Defender
06. Warfare
07. Valkyrie
WOLFHEART will support CARACH ANGREN on a North American tour beginning in late September.
FROM ASHES TO NEW has released the official music video for "Broken", the follow-up single to the hit "Crazy", which recently reached No. 2 on the U.S. rock radio chart. The track conveys a message of perseverance and believing in yourself when others try to push you down and hold you back in life. It's a recurring theme in FROM ASHES TO NEW's music which is very personal to the band.
FROM ASHES TO NEW's debut album, "Day One", earned the band a Top 10 track at rock radio with the single "Through It All". Following an extensive album cycle, the band's original drummer and co-vocalist both abruptly left the group. Rather than focusing on the setbacks, FROM ASHES TO NEW forged ahead with a new energy and purpose.
The band, now comprised of frontman/rapper/programmer Matt Brandyberry, guitarist Lance Dowdle, vocalist Danny Case and drummer Mat Madiro (TRIVIUM), released its second album, "The Future", earlier this year via Eleven Seven Music.
FROM ASHES TO NEW is touring the U.S. extensively for the rest of the year, with a headline run throughout September and October. HANGMAN'S CHAIR will release its fifth studio album, "Banlieue Triste", on September 28 through Spinefarm Records in all territories outside of France.
A special double vinyl version of the album, featuring one black record and one red record, will be released in tandem. This comes as the result of a deal that will see the Paris outfit working with Spinefarm worldwide for future recordings.
The band has also shared a new song. Watch the video for "Naïve" below.
Over the past decade or so, HANGMAN'S CHAIR — Cedric Toufouti (vocals/guitars), Julien Chanut (guitars), Clement Hanvic (bass), and Mehdi Birouk Thepegnier (drums) — has released a steady flow of singles, EPs, albums, and split releases. They've all been housed in signature, stylish artwork and have showcased the band's trademark ability to blend emotional and musical weight with fragile interludes and atmospheric swathes of sound.
HANGMAN'S CHAIR stands as France's foremost name in the world of stoner doom, yet their music is in no way bound by style. This is evidenced by 10 new tracks on "Banlieue Triste" — from the epic riff-surge of "Naïve" through the shimmering, slow-burn instrumental "Sidi Bel Abbes" (featuring guitarist Marc De Backer from WOLVENNEST) to the soaring melody of "Tired Eyes" (a collaboration with French synthwave master Perturbator).
The album is a body of work where brute force and beauty are never too far apart.
"We feel that 'Banlieue Triste' has something special — a taste of relief," said Chanut. "With these songs, we believe that we've truly found our identity. We've never been this personal before in terms of the influences, the lyrics, the sound, and the artwork. 'Banlieue Triste' is what we are now and what we used to be as kids — it's full of nostalgia, the broken French dream."
"Beyond The Veil", the new video from Atlanta blackened rock metallers CLOAK, can be viewed below. The song comes from the band's debut album, "To Venomous Depths", which was released in 2017 via Season Of Mist.
Comments the group: "'Beyond The Veil' is a song that's grown in meaning and importance the longer it's been with us. It's a song about both the fear and comfort of knowing there is something much greater in charge here and the empowerment that it can bring. Regarding the visual aspects, we wanted to work with color this time. Being fans of Dario Argento and classic 'Hammer Horror' films, it only felt right to pair the song with rich and powerful colors."
CLOAK captures the magic, mystique and mystery of classic heavy metal with "To Venomous Depths". Drawing from metal's most impactful sub-genres, the quartet distill their collective influences into an enthralling full-album experience that honors the spirit of the early classics while standing firmly in the now. Captivating tracks like "Beyond The Veil", "Deep Red", "Forever Burned" and the title track are riveted with somber harmonies, driving rhythms and dramatic builds in momentum and suspense. CLOAK's bold and blackened metal teems with dark energy and "To Venomous Depths" is a testament to the genre's primal power and magic.
