Former SISTER SIN vocalist Liv "Sin" Jagrell has released a video for her song "The Fall". The clip was filmed in Stockholm and at the festival Skogsröjet in Rejmyre, Sweden during the summer of 2017.
Says Liv: "For this video, we wanted to capture the energy of our live shows. It is one of our more faster and aggressive songs, so it made sense in that purpose to represent our concerts."
She continues: "LIV SIN is a heavy metal band and we want our shows to reflect that just as much as our music does. It should be an intense experience full of headbanging, pumping fists in the sky and screaming along in the lyrics. We hope that this video of the 'The Fall' will give you a taste of what that is like at a LIV SIN concert."
"The Fall" is taken from Liv's debut solo album, "Follow Me", which was produced by the duo of Stefan Kaufmann and Fitty Weinhold. Liv stated about the collaboration: "[Stefan and Fitty] brought out more intense metal in me than I ever could imagine. These guys have been in the business and in this music for so long, so their experience really brought out the essence of our songs, for the better."
From the gutters of south Sweden, Jagrell emerged as a major force as the vocalist for hard rockers SISTER SIN. Dutch destroyers Death Alley, revolving around former The Devil’s Blood guitarist Oeds Beydals, singer Douwe Truijens, Swedish drummer Uno Bruniusson (ex-In Solitude) and latest addition Sander Bus on bass, have released a video for "Murder Your Dreams", a track from their sophomore album, Superbia, out on March 23rd via Century Media Records.
The band comments, “‘Murder Your Dreams’ shows a side of our musicality that was always there but never revealed itself in our music before. Just when we needed it, The Wipers came knocking and we crushed them to bits. A bittersweet taste of Superbia in its most compact form."
Video director Luuk Bouwman explains, "The video is based on chase and falling dreams - which I felt would fit well with the song. I remembered a great scene in the Nightmare On Elm Street series in which the characters are stuck in a loop. So I wanted to create a nightmare-like slapstick in which the protagonist is condemned to keep falling, eternally. I was already joking that it was an autobiographical story and as if it was an ominous prophecy, a day after finishing the video I fell really hard on a bridge because of black ice. I broke my arm, cheekbone and eye socket. So last week I was in surgery to reconstruct my face."

"War Horns", the new video from Brazilian/Italian metallers ANGRA, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's ninth studio album, "Ømni", which will be released on February 16 via earMUSIC.
2018 marks the beginning of yet another era in ANGRA's history.
At age 26, the band shows motivation and strength like never before. Not even the sometimes-uncertain trajectory was able to take away the focus, determination and inspiration of the quintet led — and founded — by Rafael Bittencourt, and completed by Felipe Andreoli (bass), Fabio Lione (vocals), Marcelo Barbosa (guitar) and Bruno Valverde (drums).
"Ømni" is the result of months of intense dedication, blood, and sweat.
Once again, the album was recorded in Sweden with Jens Bogren, who also produced the previous disc, "Secret Garden", and manages to capture the same excellent chemistry.
The sound, while fully contemporary, has an organic character and respects the different nuances and dynamics of each instrument. Many musicians were involved in creating the album, ranging from the percussion sound of Bahia to European orchestral arrangement — all of which give the album its outstanding variety.
"Ømni" is a concept album, a set of science fiction short stories that take place at various places in time, simultaneously. The backbone of the plot is based on the idea that in 2046 an artificial intelligence system will change human perception and cognition. It is a system which will allow conscious communication between present and future human beings. Characters such as time travellers, cavemen, warriors, among others, help tell this story.
The album connects the concepts of previous albums (Holy Land, Rebirth, Temple of Shadows) to one main system, "Ømni", which in Latin means "everything." "Ømni" fabricates an interconnectivity that shines light towards a universal truth: everything that has happened, led to what the band is today. "Ømni" celebrates and unites the whole history of ANGRA to this exact, current moment.
ANGRA's trademark formula, a Brazilian style mixed with classical music and heavy metal, is enhanced by different influences such as progressive rock, thrash metal, Latin music, and djent, which transforms the albums into a swirl of modern and familiar. The conjoined moods and dynamics put a special spin on the lyrics and therefore increase deep sense of immersion in the story.
The cover artwork was hand-drawn by Daniel Martin Diaz, a unique American artist who dedicates his life to mixing scientific and philosophical concepts such as anatomy, computer science, mathematics, cosmology, sacred geometry, symbolism and esotericism. The designer Gustavo Sazes was responsible for integrating such an organic art piece to the visual concept of the album as a whole.
Even in a cultural environment increasingly sterile and unfavourable for music with soul and identity, the band gathers eleven tracks that completely differ from each other, but at the same time tell a cohesive story, and wander through all styles and nuances that have made ANGRA a worldwide reference. A very well bonded line-up, both personally and musically, overflowing with creativity, was the necessary fuel to bring these songs to life, songs which are undoubtedly among the best in the band's discography.

"Cobra Speed Venom", the new video from Swedish death metal veterans THE CROWN, can be seen below. The song is the title track of the band's upcoming album, which will be released on March 16 through Metal Blade Records. Produced with Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman, the record promises to be one of the biggest surprises of the year — a return to death metal speed and darkness in full glory!

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION is the Anglo-American rock group comprising vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE), drummer Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN, FOREIGNER), Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, ALICE COOPER, BILLY IDOL) and blues-rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa.
Hughes told Express that "The Cove" was written about the annual slaughter of dolphins in the Japanese fishing village of Taiji. An ambassador for the Dolphin Project charity, he said: "Between February and March each year, fifty dolphin hunters in the Japanese village of Taiji go deep into the ocean and net and bring in the dolphins into the killing cove and slaughter them for food and entertainment. Now that I am a vegan, I want to educate people as it's deeply saddening to see how these beautiful creatures are killed. I want to be of service to the human race and show people that this is wrong!"
Just like its three predecessors, "BCCIV" was overseen by Kevin Shirley, whose catalogue of hit records for LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, JOURNEY and THE BLACK CROWES has made him one of the hottest producers that rock music has to offer. Shirley, who originally had the idea of putting Hughes and Bonamassa in a band after seeing them jamming together onstage in Los Angeles back in November 2009, is the group's unofficial "fifth member."
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION's inception took place when Hughes and Bonamassa fused their styles on stage in Los Angeles in November 2009 for an explosive performance at Guitar Center's King Of The Blues event. With the help and guidance of Shirley, they further added to their rock lineage by recruiting Bonham and Sherinian.

Guitarist Chris Howorth told Lancaster Online about the writing and recording process for "Ritual": "The word 'grueling' comes to mind with that, only because the pressure that we put on ourselves, more than anything else, of wanting it to be great.
"Maria's [Brink, vocals] a real artist. What she sings about has to be something she's connected to or feels, or she feels fake and can't do it. She's always second-guessing and questioning whether something that we did is good enough."
Regarding IN THIS MOMENT's live shows, Howorth told BandsInTown: "Maria is usually at the center of this hurricane directing and planning the whole thing. It starts right when the songs are being written and continues right up to the first show. We are always trying to out do ourselves with our live show and that takes constant planning and working on things.
"We always try to utilize the stage setup to make every song special in its own way. Maria uses the stage design and props to enhance each song and bring the message or story to life for the crowd."

What do you get when you match a Brit from London who loves American AOR with an American from California who grew up on British prog? DUKES OF THE ORIENT is the masterful pairing of vocalist John Payne (ex-ASIA, GPS) with keyboardist Erik Norlander (LAST IN LINE, LANA LANE) who now present their eponymous debut album, ten years in the making.

DUKES OF THE ORIENT has its origins in 2007 as ASIA FEATURING JOHN PAYNE, a band that continued on after ASIA keyboardist Geoff Downes left to reform the original 1982 lineup. Payne recruited Norlander to join Guthrie Govan and Jay Schellen for tour dates in the U.S. and initial recordings, some of which endured to appear on the DUKES OF THE ORIENT album here. Govan left the band to form THE ARISTOCRATS and was replaced by guitarist Bruce Bouillet followed by Jeff Kollman and Moni Scaria. The final lineup resulted in the track "Seasons Will Change", released as a video in 2013 and also now appears on the DUKES OF THE ORIENT album. Following the death of original ASIA vocalist John Wetton in early 2017, Payne and Norlander decided that these recordings should give birth to a new band, both out of respect for Wetton and for clarity with the Downes-led ASIA.

In this song, the Hanoverians emphasize that hard rock music still has a serious home base in this city! The content is about the good old days - those "Days Of Thunder" in the youth in which handmade music and "making party" were capitalized and bands like the Scorpions, Victory or Thunderhead went out to write history!
The group also includes Lars Lehmann, renowned as studio bassist with British rock legend UFO and member of ex-Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth’s band, as well as percussionist Momme Boe and Eloy-drummer Kristof Hinz.
Ignore The Sign has unmistakably benefited from its members’ wide range of different influences. A self-professed Beatles fan, Ossy Pfeiffer (“following Johann Sebastian Bach, The Beatles are the origin of music to me”) is responsible for the material’s great melodiousness and catchiness, with Anca Graterol adding colour and spiritedness to the arrangements. Steve Mann brought along a tougher, almost metal-oriented guitar attitude. We filmed this clip at the historic Slaughterhouse Studios in Calgary, and worked with local filmmaker Zak Kelly, who did an absolutely killer job recreating our vision. With the ‘Snakebouquet’ video, we wanted to capture the feel of our live performances and, of course, tell a story – a story of humanity’s reach toward the stars, powered by mysticism, bravery, pure will, and scientific achievement. We dedicate this song to those fearless men and women who have taken, and continue to take, humanity’s first steps into the void. The theme of human transcendence and the clash of old and new myths are central to our upcoming album Kindred, so ‘ad astra sine metu’ – ‘to the stars, without fear’, and have a taste of what is to come!"
Maryann Cotton has released a video for "Cursed", the opening track of the new album, Murder (out now). Watch the clip below.
The 9-track album was recorded in US, Denmark, and Sweden, and was written by Maryann Cotton and co-writer Hal Patino. It was produced by Maryann Cotton, and recorded by Hal Patino, Sebastian Sly, Joel Korpela and Cotton.
With regards to the Murder album title, Cotton said: "I love that title! We wanted a title that sounded hard and mean, and it fits really well with the whole vibe of the album. It's old fashioned but modern at the same time, it’s the darkest album we’ve ever done but it’s not depressing at all, it's actually a very up-album! It’s very experimental and the sound is dirty and dry, we have worked very hard on this album and I think that the whole thing has been taken to another level! Right now I just can’t wait for the fans to hear it! It’s pure rock 'n roll!''

While time travel is merely a figment of the imagination, Sacred Leather's brand of steely, raucous and pure metal straight out of 1983, is not. Brandishing leather and chains, rafter-reaching vocals and scorching solos, Sacred Leather represent heavy metal in its truest form on their first full-length album and debut Cruz Del Sur Music release, Ultimate Force.
The product of five metal banshees from the Midwestern portion of the United States, Sacred Leather has spent the better part of their existence fine-tuning their live presentation while releasing a series of singles and splits in preparation for Ultimate Force. Written over the course of two years, Ultimate Force was recorded during the fall of 2017 at Earth Analog Studios in Tolono, Illinois, with additional sessions taking place at Beware Sounds and Clandestine Arts Recording in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mixing and mastering was handled by Sacred Leather lead guitarist Carloff Blitz at Clandestine Arts Recording shortly thereafter.
The result is a fierce blend of classic and thrash metal, fully capable of unleashing an all-out blitz ("Ultimate Force", "Master Is Calling"), dealing mid-tempo bashers ("Watcher", "Power Thrust") and perhaps best of all, offering an epic, towering ballad in the form of "Dream Searcher", which, according to lead vocalist Dee Wrathchild, is the most ambitious track on the record. "It's centered around the theme of heartbreak. A man has lost his love and is only able to be reunited with her in his dreams. He is poised to suffer eternally in reality, but in the realm of sleep, he is able to revisit her."
Heavy metal with this kind of conviction is not to be taken lightly. On Ultimate Force, Sacred Leather brings the hammer and anvil, the silver and steel, magic and might, providing one of the most convincing representations of metal to be heard in 2018. "Heavy metal represents individualism in the face of conformity and an escape from reality," concludes Wrathchild. "You can crank it up, bang your head, and you will always have thousands of brothers and sisters in heavy metal that connect with what they are hearing as much as you do. It's timeless. It's power. It's the Ultimate Force.

German metallers CALIBAN have released the official music video for the song "Intoxicated". The clip was produced by Iconographic.
CALIBAN first performed "Intoxicated" live during the band's recent "Darkness Over X-Mas" tour. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Elements", which will be released on April 6 via Century Media.
CALIBAN guitarist Marc Görtz had this to say about the album cover: "We used the elements Earth, Air, Fire, and Water as symbols for realization, ideas, power, and emotion. These symbols inspire us to continue to do what we love the most, which is to create, evolve, and be inspired by our music. And these elements directly correspond to the cover art, which was done by Marcel Gadacz. He did the art for 'Gravity', so we're happy to have him back."
For "Elements", CALIBAN brought back longtime collaborator — going all the way back to 2007's "The Awakening" — and studio wizard Benny Richter to co-produce with Görtz at his Nemesis Studios. CALIBAN also hired on German-based Andy Posdziech and buddy Sebastian "Sushi" Biesler, as well as Australian-based Callan Orr to assist in the recording process. "Elements" was mixed by Görtz and mastered by Olman Viper, whose repertoire includes previous CALIBAN albums "I Am Nemesis" (2012), "Ghost Empire" (2014), and "Gravity" (2016).
"The production on 'Elements' was pretty different," says Görtz. "The instrumental side of the production was produced by me, Andy and Callan. Then, Benny and myself worked on fine-tuning the music. The vocals, however, were produced by Benny, with Sushi acting as a vocal coach. We wanted Benny to focus on the vocals and the vocal production. Getting them right was very important to us."

"Straight Jacket", the new video from the Atlantic Records/604 Records group THEORY OF A DEADMAN, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's latest album, "Wake Up Call", which was released last October.
Recorded with producer Martin Terefe at London's Kensaltown Studios, "Wake Up Call" finds THEORY — Tyler Connolly (lead vocals, lead guitar), David Brenner (rhythm guitar), Dean Back (bass), and Joey Dandeneau (drums) — extending themselves beyond the easy comforts of complacency to create an album that pushes the songwriting envelope with songs like "Rx", which takes aim at the opioid epidemic impacting families across North America and "PCH", which juxtaposes the nostalgia for seemingly endless nights with friends and the bitter realities of life.
THEORY will kick off a spring headline tour on February 16 in San Francisco, California.
