Vardøger, the first of three short films by noted Norwegian shock filmmaker Reinert Kiil and set to Mortiis' "Geisteskrank”, can be seen below. Kiil's mind-blowing visuals accompany Mortiis' track, recorded during the same sessions that yielded Mortiis' latest work, The Great Deceiver.
"The video unpleasantness continues," said Mortiis, who has already unveiled three graphically-intense videos from The Great Deceiver. "A while back Norwegian horror director Reinert Kiil started his short film trilogy based on his own ugly descent into depravity and violence. Never ones to turn our backs to a good cause, we leaped at the opportunity to provide the soundtrack to what is essentially a good old bashing. Vardøger is the first part. I've seen the next one, and it just keeps getting worse."
Kiil began toying around with filmmaking as an adolescent. The director has now gained notoriety as Norway's only Grindhouse filmmaker. Kiil's work with Mortiis is his first musical collaboration. Both parties were intrigued by the idea of delving into the other's art-form, but both were waiting to find that kindred soul to capture a shared essence. Mortiis and Kiil found that in each other.
"The music is sonically fused with a glimpse of his soul - or crazed mind or whatever it might be - and it is complete, a sordid success," Mortiis said. "The result is sleazy, strange, disturbing, and extremely violent."
Mortiis will be returning to UK shores for a run of seven headline shows this month. The tour kicks off at Newcastle’s Cluny venue on May 23rd and commences at Bristol’s Fleece on May 29th.

British melodic rockers, Vega, will release their new album, Who We Are, on May 13th. A music video for the track “White Flag” is streaming below.

“The ballad “Nothing Lasts Forever” is a stand out for me,” adds keyboard player James Martin. ”It's a huge piano ballad with Queen and The Beatles influences and Harry really went to town on the production of this song.”
Tom Martin says: "This is probably our most diverse record and that's what we tried for when choosing the songs. Each song has its own identity and we probably have the heaviest and softest songs we have ever recorded and everything in between. That gives you an idea of how strong the material is on this record."

Sensory Records has locked the summer release date for Machina Viva, the vast fifth studio album from leading Swedish progressive metal outfit, Wolverine. The band has released a lyric video for the track "Machina".
Recorded and produced by Wolverine in various locations throughout Sweden during the fall and winter months of late 2015 and early 2016, Machina Viva was mixed at Spacelab Studio in Germany by Christian "Moschus" Moos (Everon, Haken, Delain, Cloverseeds), and mastered by Grammy Award winning audio engineer Bob Katz.
A natural progression from the band's previous album, Communication Lost, released in 2011 via Candlelight Records, Machina Viva invites the listener into the harmonious yet portentous and sullen musical dimensions of Wolverine with perhaps their most dynamic album to date. From the fourteen-minute epic and powerful "The Bedlam Overture" and the dark electronic landscapes of "Machina," to the naked and organic nature of "Pile Of Ash" and "Sheds," Machina Viva is the next step in Wolverine's explorations in the progressive field. Swedish death/thrash-metal group Feared has just shared a new music video for “Lords Resistance Army”, the leading single from the band’s forthcoming 10th anniversary album Reborn. Watch the video directed by guitarist Ola Englund and Patrik Forsberg below.
Reborn features the best tracks from the band’s first two records, 2011’s Rejects and 2012’s Refeared, totally re-recorded and revamped for this 10th anniversary and will be available on digital download and CD, including some deluxe editions. Release is set for June 3rd.
Guitarist and founder Ola Englund commented: “We always felt that the first two albums were not up to par with Furor Incarnatus, Vinter and Synder. Refeared and Rejects didn't have real drums and it has a lot to be desired mixing job so we decided to revisit these two releases. Formed in 2007, Feared was the brainchild of guitarist and producer Ola Englund, but from a potent start it soon disbanded. The heart and presence of the band though continued to breathe through Englund and the numerous instrumental songs he recorded and released on YouTube as tutorials. It was 2010 which saw Feared beginning to re-emerge when the guitarist and vocalist Mario Ramos (Demonoid) worked on a self-titled debut album; a release swiftly earning acclaim and support from fans and media alike. The energy and passion of the band only grew and blossomed from thereon in, as equally its evolving sounds. The following year saw the greedily received Rejects unveiled, as well as a re-recorded and remixed version of their debut album called Refeared, both pushing the band into broader attention. They were followed in 2013 by praise soaked third album Furor Incarnatus, it similarly whipping up a torrent of eager responses and new spotlights.
It was eclipsed in exploration and imagination, not forgetting acclaim, by Vinter a year later though. The album came after a period between releases which saw Englund also become the new guitarist of Swedish comrades The Haunted, drummer Kevin Talley (Suffocation, ex-Dying Fetus, ex-Black Dahlia Murder) additionally join the ranks of BattleCross, and ex-Clawfinger bassist Jocke Skog recruited by and bringing Feared another surge of new energy and thought. It all only strengthened the intensive passion and inventive appetite of the band, as well as sparking fresh avenues to investigate in sound, all evidenced dramatically in Vinter and with even greater adventure on its successor Synder.
Meaning sins in English, Synder is the blistering success of Feared pushing their limits and imaginations into darker depths and intimate challenges once more yet emerging as provocative and expansive landscapes of furious sound and unbridled emotion. Produced by Englund and Skog, and wrapped in the striking artwork of Sylvain Razorimages, Synder is the most intensive collaboration within the band yet; a sonic emprise breeding one explosive tempest and inspiring intensive roar from the heart of Feared.

"On the surface, 'Burn' shows a decent into hell. The imagery and content seems to follow the rhetoric of a burning and painful afterlife. In reality, 'Burn' is actually about the decent into madness. Your own personal hell while you battle your inner demons and face your own addictions. Mouichido is a rebirth for the band as it's a re-release of re-recorded material from their 2014 EP Reborn. Mouichido, the Japanese word for “Repeat” or “to do one more time” is perfectly titled for the EP to signify its re-release of previously recorded versions that now feature new vocalist Alex Friis and bass tracks recorded by Tristan Martin plus live performance being done by Ryan Loewen along with a guest appearance by vocalist Mark Hunter of Chimaira on track “In Waves”.
Southern California's Ghoulgotha have re-emerged from the depths with the release of To Starve The Cross. The band's 2015 debut - The Deathmass Cloak - was praised by critics for its demented envisioning of doom-infused, old-school death metal. Italian death metal legion, Hideous Divinity, has unveiled the official new visual accompaniment to the track "Cobra Verde". The unsettling tune comes by way of the band's full-length of the same name, released in 2014 via Unique Leader Records. Cobre Verde is a concept record based around Werner Herzog's 1987 film of the same name which itself was centered around 1980 novel, The Viceroy Of Ouidah, by British author, Bruce Chatwin.
Elaborates Hideous Divinity of the clip, "The surrealistic, soaring visions populating Herzog's Cobra Verde haunted our songwriting like a nightmare, and inspired the concept of our second album. When it was time to think about a video clip, we found ourselves in front of a fascinating challenge: How to visually render the atmosphere of an entire epic movie in the space of a song. After watching the work of the young and talented Guilherme Henriques Silva, we knew he was the right person for the job. Filmed between Roma in the evocative location of Tor Caldara, where the mighty Ben Hur was shot and Porto, the video captures the magic and the occult of our African curse made flesh. The title track, with its dramatic mid tempos and pauses, made the rest. Join us, one more time, in the land where there the dead are more alive than the living. Fear no end, fear no spirit!"

DESTRUCTION started recording "Under Attack" after the summer festivals last year and tracked segments in various studios between September 2015 and January 2016. They completed the drum recordings with Martin Buchwalter at Gernhart Studios in Germany, and mixed and mastered with VO Pulver at Little Creek Studios in Switzerland.
DESTRUCTION bassist/vocalist Schmier stated about the making of "Under Attack": "We really took our time for this album. After the summer festivals, we went into the studio every couple of weeks to record brand new songs and ideas in between all the touring activities. We took several studio sessions instead of one long one, to keep the ideas fresh and have time later before the mix to change bits and pieces that we did not like. Maybe this was the most effective writing we did in the last years! Due the fact we had more time in between the albums, there was a lot of musical output and creativity, but also less pressure. From my point of view, you can definitely hear the crispiness in the songwriting and the kick-ass attitude we brought from the shows into the studio. The 'on tour into the studio on tour mode' was so effective that I wanna keep this method for the future!"

KAMELOT's music video for the song "My Therapy" can be seen below. Italian rocker Pino Scotto (Fire Trails, Vanadium) has released the official video for “The Eagle Scream”, a song dedicated to late Motörhead frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister.
“The Eagle Scream” features Pino Scotto on vocals, Dario "Kappa" Cappanera (Strana Officina) on guitars, Franky Ciccio Li Causi (Negrita) on bass, Rob Iaculli (Exilia) on drums. Additional musicians are Alex Mansi (drums), Dario Bucca (bass) and Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Edge OF Forever) on keyboards.
The video ends with a photo of Lemmy together with 66-year old Pino Scotto and the message: "Hi Brother, keep a place next to you for me".
“The Eagle Scream” is one of the two previously unreleased tracks featured in the new Scotto album, Live For A Dream, which was released on April 1st via Nadir Music.
Live For A Dream is a live compilation of 16 tracks that showcase Scotto's 40 year career, from the beginnings with Pulsar and Vanadium, to Progetto Sinergia and Fire Trails and his most recent solo career.
International progressive metallers Universal Mind Project have released a video for the track “Truth”, featured on The Jaguar Priest, the band’s debut album, out now via Inner Wound Recordings. "Truth" features a guest appearance by Mark Jansen (Epica, Mayan).

"Hatred United / United Hate", the new video from San Francisco Bay Area metallers DEATH ANGEL, can be seen below. The clip was directed and edited by Tommy Jones for Videohammer Studios during the recording sessions for the band's new album, "The Evil Divide", and features renowned tattoo artist Bob Tyrrell. The song also includes a special guest guitar solo from Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA).
"The Evil Divide" will be released on May 27 via Nuclear Blast. The CD was once again recorded at AudioHammer studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, DEICIDE), who previously worked on 2010's "Relentless Retribution" and 2013's "The Dream Calls For Blood". Mastering duties were handled by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in New York City. The cover artwork was created by Tyrrell and can be seen below.
DEATH ANGEL guitarist Rob Cavestany said: "Both Mark [Osegueda, vocals] and I had been tattooed by Bob, and when the subject of album artwork came up, we approached him to create the design. Osegueda told SFWeekly.com about working with Suecof again: "It's the third time we've used him, and we couldn't really be happier."
He continued: "This time, all the music was written and lyrics were written with the exception of one song, which I purposely saved to write on the spot.
"Sometimes you can get a great vibe from a studio and draw inspiration from that. That song came out great."
Mark added: "It's got the aggressiveness of the last two records, but our songwriting has improved dramatically. Really, it sounds like DEATH ANGEL should."
Regarding DEATH ANGEL's mindset going into the songwriting process for the new CD, Osegueda told Rock Hard magazine: "When we started working with Jason Suecof for the last two records, 'Relentless Retribution' and 'The Dream Calls For Blood', we thought we were gonna do two records intense like that and kind of go back [to the more] melodic [direction of 1990's] 'Act III', but the last two records, we've been loving so much writing that style, and the crowds have been enjoying them so much.
"In our minds, even if we think we're being more brutal than we've ever been, it's inevitable that we are obsessed with melody, so there's always gonna be melody that separates us from, say, different thrash bands or extreme bands, because we always veer to a melody and catchy hooks. No matter how brutal we think we're being, we like to throw in hooks, so we're just gonna carry on how we're doing now and try to pick as many of the young punters there and keep our stronghold on the old punters."

DEATH ANGEL released "A Thrashumentary" in July 2015 via Nuclear Blast. The DVD was directed, shot and edited by Tommy Jones (KATAKLYSM, SOILWORK, LAMB OF GOD, CARCASS, TESTAMENT) of Videohammer Studios. The release also includes a full live album titled "The Bay Calls For Blood".
Ottawa, ON-based symphonic black/death metal band, Endemise, has posted a new music video for the title track of their upcoming album, Anathema, due out later this year to follow their 2013 debut album Far From The Light and their 2012 self-titled EP.
The album was produced by Endemise guitarist Dale Sauve along with Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams) and features eight blistering tracks to burst your ear drums (album artwork and track listing below). Endemise's live brutality has also lead the band to be a favourite local support on the Ottawa metal scene for touring bands such as Abigail Williams, Cattle Decapitation, Alestorm, Battlecross, Beneath The Massacre, Crimson Shadows and Vesperia.
Endemise vocalist Franky Falsetto comments: "Anathema is fueled by an unquenchable inner hatred, and despair. Blood soaked in occult themes and a nihilistic mindset dripping with a melancholic hopelessness”.

Italian alternative/progressive metal group Klogr have released their biggest and most theatrical music video yet, specifically for their single "Breathing Heart", cut from their recent full-length release Make Your Stand (2015). The track "Breathing Heart" features emotive vocals, soaring guitars and prominent string quartet arrangements - all of which perfectly come to life in the video, filmed at the historical Carpi Theatre in Carpi, Italy and featuring Milanese actress Veronica Sogni.
The "Breathing Heart" music video, featuring beautiful moving camera shots and haunting imagery, was produced by Zeta Factory and 21Frames and was directed and edited byRoberto Zampa and Joba.
Klogr frontman Rusty states, "The location for the video is magical and the actress (Veronica Sogni) is amazing in her role. We couldn't have closed the Make Your Stand chapter any better!"
Klogr (pronounced Key-Log-Are) recently announced that their upcoming third full-length album will be produced by none other than three-time Grammy award-winning producer David Bottrill (Tool, Stone Sour, Muse, Rush). The band will enter the studio in September 2016. Stay tuned for more information on the new album coming soon.

After excessively touring with their recent album Berlin in 2015, Kadavar has cooked up a new and exciting project for 2016, to keep them and their followers busy during the winter-break. Together with long-time friend and collaborator Nathini van der Meer , who has created artwork and videos for them in the past, they are working on their first "Visual Album"- 12 short films accompanying each of the albums' songs, to be released once a month throughout the entirety of the year.

Kadavar recently teamed up with Scion A/V Metal and Skybound Entertainment (The Walking Dead, Outcast) to release "Words Of Evil," a brand new, unreleased song.
Commented Kadavar singer Lupus: "Originally we had written the song for our album Berlin, but thought it would stick out too much and decided not to put it on the album. Nevertheless I think it is one of the best songs we've ever written. At least it is one of my faves. A lot of NWOHBM and straight to your face!"
