Voraath, the brutal horror-inspired extreme metal band featuring members from Nile, Xael, Rapheumets Well, Implosive Disgorgence, and Sweet Blood are unleashing their debut single, "Siren Head", with a haunting music video directed by drummer Joshua Nassaru Ward.
The track is just a preview from the otherworldly and experimental metal act based out of the Carolinas as they work on recording their forthcoming full length.
Joshua Nassaru Ward explains further: “Though most of the concept of our debut album follows a group of “survivors” who are tasked with hunting down an inter-dimensional deity who has ravaged the earth, for this song (Siren Head) we wanted to do something “less” otherworldly and a bit more of a horror. My seven-year-old son loves watching scary stories about this creature called “Siren Head.” Come to find out that so many kids his age are infatuated by the monster, so we wanted to write our interpretation of Siren Head based on the artist Trevor Henderson. This also allowed for us some family metal/horror time!”
The music video can be viewed below. Single download and stream available here.
Coming together only this past September, Voraath features Brad Parris (Nile) on vocals and guitar, Joshua Nassaru Ward (Xael, Rapheumets Well) on drums, vocals and keys, along with Paul McBride (Implosive Disgorgence, Sweet Blood) on bass, and guitarists Daniel Presnell and Tylor Kohl. The band first began as a vessel for them as musicians to continue touring and writing.
"We wanted to explore even further integrating science fantasy, soundscapes, and metal. This will be something new bringing together emotional yet brutal music and science fantasy so we hope to appeal to both metal enthusiasts as well as those who appreciate the lore of the music." adds the band.
Transporting fans to a different world, Voraath plans to offer up both escapism and music that relates to them on a personal level. For their live performance, the band has lots of on-stage theatrics and costuming to bring the storytelling to life. It will be both intense and immersive.
Voraath is recommended for fans of death metal, black metal, and 80’s movie soundtracks.
Earlier today, Sabaton announced the limited-edition, live-in-concert, double-DVD/Blu-Ray, The Great Show, and The 20th Anniversary Show, both set for release on November 19 (Nuclear Blast). Both titles were filmed during the band’s 2019-2020 The Great Tour world trek, and both feature special guest performers. Tracklistings are below; pre-orders begin today and can be placed here.
The band have since premiered the official live video for "Great War", filmed at the 20th Anniversary Show at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival in 2019. Watch below:
The 20th Anniversary Show (see trailer below) is comprised of Sabaton’s jaw-dropping, two-hour headline concert filmed in front of 75,000 fans at Germany’s Wacken Open Air Festival - coincidentally, celebrating its 30th anniversary - on August 1, 2019. The Great Show, with a running time of about 90-minutes, was recorded at Sabaton’s sold-out performance at the O2 Arena in Prague on January 26, 2020. With two varied setlists chosen from the band’s extensive catalog, The Great Show and the 20th Anniversary Show, limited to 9,000 copies each, will be available as individual purchases or bundled together as The Great Show Stage Collector's Edition box set (limited to 5,000 copies), that includes a building bricks version of the Sabaton stage so fans can build their own stages.
For the greater part of the Wacken concert, Sabaton commandeered the festival’s two main stages, the side-by-side-and-connected Faster and Harder Stages, becoming the first artist in Wacken's 30-year history to utilize both stages simultaneously in this way. Vocalist Joakim Brodén, guitarists Chris Rörland and Tommy Johansson, drummer Hannes Van Dahl, and the 20-voice Great War Choir, fitted out in a variety of military uniforms, performed on the Faster Stage. At the same time on the Harder Stage, bassist Pär Sundström welcomed back previous Sabaton members Thobbe Englund and Rikard Sundén/guitars, Daniel Mÿhr/keyboards and Daniel Mulback/drums - all nine musicians, plus the choir, giving an intense and impassioned en masse performance. Sabaton was also joined by the internationally acclaimed Grammy-nominated virtuoso cellist Tina Guo for the encore. Prague’s The Great Show reunited Sabaton with Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rockers, Apocalyptica, who provided a fiery orchestral backing to several of Sabaton’s songs.
In support of Sabaton’s most recent chart-topping album, The Great War, The Great Tour saw the band setting the barre sky-high for live rock’n’roll stage production. Both sets of discs effectively capture the visually electrifying in-concert experience that is a Sabaton show. Sabaton’s cinematic songs transport fans onto the battlefield, encountering the horrors of war as well as acts of heroism and bravery, based on historical fact and told as if through the eyes and minds of soldiers in the line of fire. For “The Great Tour,” and as seen on both of these DVD/Blu-Ray sets, Sabaton’s live stage production was forged as a battlefield, with barbed-wire stretched across the front of the stage, stacks of sandbag barricades, mic stands fashioned after the period’s rifles and trench guns, a two-ton military tank complete with a battery of rocket launchers and flame jets that doubles as a drum riser, a keyboard built into the body of The Red Baron’s iconic blood-red tri-plane, and Brodén armed with a giant bazooka. Live rock’n’roll at its finest.

English extreme metal legends, Carcass, recently released their new album, Torn Arteries, via Nuclear Blast Records. The band have released a drum playthrough video for the title track. Watch as the band's beastly drummer Daniel Wilding rips through the pummelling track below.
Wilding says: “This is the big one. 'Torn Arteries'! Starting with the drum fill was an idea I had after we were struggling to find a way to begin the song. I came up with the fill after just messing around with some basic ideas at home. When we eventually tried it all together it just worked. I never expected it to the be the start of the album though haha! Another one of my favourites! Very intense, drums are all over the place in this one. A lot of fast stuff, tempo changes and a lot of fills! Exhausting to play but so much fun! I feel it’s a great mixture of intensity and musicality!”

KORN will release a new album, "Requiem", on February 4, 2022 via Loma Vista Recordings. The official music video for the disc's first single, "Start The Healing", directed by Tim Saccenti (FLYING LOTUS, RUN THE JEWELS, DEPECHE MODE), can be seen below. The clip is a live action and animated visual feast about death and re-birth amidst an array of preternatural creatures, humanoids and KORN's electrifying live performance symbolizing the dawn of a new era for the band.
In a statement, Saccenti explained of the visual, "Our idea for this video was to mutate that aspect of the DNA of KORN, of what makes them so inspiring, their mix of raw power and transportive aesthetics and human emotion. I wanted to take the viewer on an emotional journey, as the song does, a visceral, cathartic death and rebirth that will hopefully help transport the listener through whatever their personal struggles are. Collaborating with 3D artist Anthony Ciannamea, we tapped into KORN's mythology and explored their vast well of light and darkness to create a surreal, liminal-pace body-horror nightmare."
"Requiem" was created during the COVID-19 pandemic while KORN could not tour or play live shows for the first time in the band's career. Because of the time afforded to them, and without the pressure, KORN embraced a new creative process and took the time to experiment together and more.
KORN had been teasing "Start The Healing" since last week within an augmented reality filter and billboards bearing the band's logo.
"Requiem" is available for pre-order in an array of collectible formats. These include an exclusive silver vinyl variant strictly limited to 1,000 copies.
"Requiem" track listing:
01. Forgotten
02. Let The Dark Do The Rest
03. Start The Healing
04. Lost In The Grandeur
05. Disconnect
06. Hopeless And Beaten
07. Penance To Sorrow
08. My Confession
09. Worst Is On Its Way
Last month, KORN drummer Ray Luzier missed three of the band's shows after testing positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. Filling in for him was FEVER 333's Aric Improta.
Luzier was the third member of KORN to sit out shows on the band's recent tour after being diagnosed with COVID-19. A month earlier, guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer missed several dates and was temporarily replaced by J.R. Bareis, who is also in the band LOVE AND DEATH with KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch. Bareis previously stepped in for Shaffer in August 2019 when Munky was forced to miss several KORN shows due to the impending birth of his child. In early August, singer Jonathan Davis contracted the virus, forcing the postponement of six dates and cancelation of two on KORN's U.S. tour.
Bareis and Improta weren't the only session musicians to play with KORN on the latest tour. Bassist Roberto "Ra" Díaz (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) was filling in for Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu after Fieldy announced in June that he would sit out the trek in order to "heal" after "falling back" on some of his "bad habits."
Indian Folk Metal rising stars, Bloodywood, will be releasing their debut full-length, Rakshak on February 18, 2022! Today they are pleased to premiere the first single off of the upcoming album, "Gaddaar". Check out the video below
Bloodywood is a Folk Metal band from India known for pioneering a sound that seamlessly fuses Indian Folk instruments with Metal to devastating effect. Expect to hear the percussive power of the mighty Dhol, the melancholic Flute, the single stringed Tumbi and several other uncommon yet distinctively characteristic sounds from India. A combination of thunderous Hindi/Punjabi Choruses and meaningful yet unforgiving Rap verses along with the ethnic instrumentation, makes Bloodywood a truly unique experience.
The band comments on the new single: "It's been a while since our last song, so we wanted to come back heavy with 'Gaddaar'! It's a song that's aimed at a complete separation of religion and politics across the world. Everyone deserves equal rights and equal treatment at the hands of their governments no matter who and how they worship. We've seen the use of religious and divisive politics globally in recent years and it needs to be spoken about.
It's the first single we're releasing in the build up to the album because musically speaking you'll hear something familiar, but there's also enough to hint at the evolution of our sound. That'll become evident across the release of the next couple of singles and the album itself. We gave the album everything we had and can't wait to unleash it all."
And on the album: "Rakshak means 'protector' or 'guardian' in Hindi. We've always been as passionate about the message of our music as much as the music itself, and our goal has and always will be to make a positive impact in people's lives and on the planet.
You'll hear songs that talk about combating mental illness, overcoming divisive politics, battling the poverty crisis, crushing corruption, eliminating sexual assault, hope, belief and undying determination. Musically we've taken more than a few risks and pushed the limits of our sound both vocally and instrumentally. Besides having a few songs with our signature sound, we have also experimented heavily by writing our fastest, heaviest and angriest music yet while also incorporating elements and instruments from genres that lie on the other end of the musical spectrum.
We were lucky enough to be in a position to do something positive with our time at home during the pandemic, now we're ready to explode outwards. Rakshak being our debut album, we've strived to deliver one with no fillers."

Rev Jones releases the music video for the first single “Lollygagging”, taken from his new solo album In The Key of Z on Dark Star Records.
In a recent interview with Metal Shock Finland, Rev discussed the video and single, "One of my favorite movie scenes of all times is from Blazing Saddles where Burton Gilliam is yelling at the workers for ‘Lollygagging around like it’s 120 degrees.’ So when I started working on my new album I decided I wanted to write a song called ‘Lollygagging’. I actually wrote the music first, I knew I wanted it to be a Boogie kind of groove with a busy riff but a lazy feel. I also thought it would be funnier if the drums, bass, guitar, and vocals were all the opposite of Lollygagging, meaning lots of notes. So I started working on the music which came almost immediately as did the lyrics. The song was complete in about 45 minutes.
“It was harder to stop laughing than it was to write it. I knew right away I had to do a video for it. After the album was complete I was out on tour and me and Shawn Berman (video director) started shooting footage. Like always we had no real story board plotted out, we just knew it had to represent all forms of laziness and it had to be humorous. I personally think Shawn did an awesome job creating exactly that. It came out perfect."
"Life In The Key Of Z":

Bristol, UK-based band Rxptrs, who blend rock, metal, punk, and hardcore with a seamlessness that is enviable, creating something that is unique that seethes with boundless energy - have signed with Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records.
The band has shared the video for the new single "Gutterflies." Watch the clip, directed by Nathan Roach below:
"'Gutterflies' is a middle finger to the abusers and an anthem for the abused," the band explains about the song's deeper meaning. "No stone is ever gonna be left unturned, and this band refuse to stand by idly. This one's for the voiceless, this one's for the silenced. Now is the time to be loud, now is the time to be deafening."
Regarding their partnership with Metal Blade and Blacklight Media, the band says, "Rxptrs are honored to be joining the Metal Blade Records family and starting our journey with Blacklight Media. Those that know the band know we work our knuckles bloody, stand up for everything we believe in, and leave the bulls**t at the door, so there's no other team we'd rather be a part of."
Blacklight Media Records' Chris Santos comments, "I'm so excited that Rxptrs has joined the Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records Family! I was instantly hooked the first time I heard and saw them, by their unique blend of infectiously heavy riffs, insanely catchy lyrics, and their all around rock 'n' roll swagger! This is a band that's going places and I couldn't be happier to take the ride with them! 2022 will be the year of the Rxptr!"
Rxptrs (pronounced "Raptors") are a new wave of British rock. The energetic quintet combines ferocious grit with an ear for melody. Built upon the backdrop of the UK, the fiercely creative, long-term friends set out with a sonic mission statement to not succumb to a single barrier, to push boundaries and go beyond the limit of genres, creating a raw sound that is unmistakably their own. Each raucous track is laced with lyrical depth as Rxptrs lay it all on the line. They state, "Music is a vessel, this is how we channel the experiences that have shaped us. This is how we bare our scars." Quickly becoming renowned for their explosive live performances, the group's hardcore following continues to grow. Their workhorse mentality towards touring has seen them light up stages across the UK and Europe alongside the likes of Escape the Fate, King 810, As It Is, Light the Torch, and more. Rxptrs' visceral energy continues to infect the population as they cut their teeth on the live scene, with no sign of slowing, they're truly hellbent on showing everyone the way of the Rxptr.
Frontiers Music Srl will release Swedish rock band Cap Outrun's new album, High On Deception, on December 10. High On Deception is a distinctive record filled with playful odd time signatures and interesting harmonies, but it never loses its core of strong melodies and an exceptional groove.
Today, the band has released the video for "Crazy Enough" (Stereo Version). Watch the video below, and pre-order/save High On Deception here.
”It feels great to work with Frontiers on this release and I’m anxious to hear what the label’s followers will say about it. Ever since Mr. Big, who’s one of my all time favorite bands, released their What If record, I’ve been following the label’s awesome releases and I’m both impressed and grateful for what they’re doing for the rock music scene today. I’m thrilled about joining them with Cap Outrun and everybody in the band is very excited about this!” says guitarist Andrée Theander.
The writing and production process for the album was a very successful collaboration between founding members Andrée Theander and Erik Gafvelin Wiss. Although Erik is still involved in Cap Outrun, he has decided to take a step back as the main keyboardist to focus on his production work. His spot has been given to the very talented session player André Egbo. Vocalist Chandler Mogel (Double Vision, Outloud), bassist Linus ”Mr. Gul” Abrahamson (Andromeda, Constanica), and drummer Johan Ludvig Rask round out the line-up.
Musical influences are everything from Swedish progressive rock bands Kaipa and Karmakanic to legendary American bands like Toto and Boston. Some of Andrée’s and Erik’s friends have even mentioned Dirty Loops when they’ve dropped around Erik’s studio in Stockholm while the album was still in the making. [Who knows, maybe it could have something to do with bass player Linus’ close collaboration with the Dirty Loops members Henrik Linder and Aron Mellergård for their newly released bass and drum transcription books?]
Cap Outrun formed in Sweden in 2007 when Andrée Theander and Erik Gafvelin Wiss met at a Swedish university for music production and started to make music together. The two youngsters wrote and recorded a lot of songs and with a little help from a bunch of friends, six of the songs ended up on the very first Cap Outrun release, Influence Grind (2008). The music was somewhat complex with odd time signatures and unexpected song structures, but still contained memorable melodies and pop-flavored choruses. This perfect blend of rock, metal, and jazz made them fairly well-known within the underground world of prog rock lovers for a period of time. Andrée and Erik graduated from university and they decided to go their separate musical ways. Since then, they have stayed good friends, but were working on their own careers: Andrée as a session player, guitar teacher and with his own AOR/Westcoast project Theander Expression, while Erik started to build his own studio and mainly focus on producing and mixing records by other bands, like Creye, Cruzh, and Arctic Rain to name a few. Cap Outrun was essentially on hiatus after that self-released EP… until now.

COHEED AND CAMBRIA has unveiled a new track titled "Rise, Naianasha (Cut The Cord)". Available today on all streaming platforms, the song finds COHEED AND CAMBRIA channeling their progressive roots and is accompanied by a lyric video streaming now on the band's YouTube channel.
COHEED AND CAMBRIA vocalist/guitarist Claudio Sanchez elaborated on the genesis of "Rise, Naianasha (Cut The Cord)", explaining, "'Rise, Naianasha' explores the reach of love and loyalty and the reality that sometimes you need to be more than a shoulder to lean on — you need to become the destroyer."
"Rise, Naianasha (Cut The Cord)" arrives on the heels of the group's skyrocketing 2021 single "Shoulders". After scaling the Top 40 at the format since the summer, the recent single vaulted into the Top 15 at Active Rock radio, marking the group's career highest radio chart position to date and fueling anticipation for a larger release on the horizon. Sanchez recently sat down with Grammy.com for an in-depth interview discussing details of the band's imminent new album while also examining Vaxis — an emerging central figure in the sci-fi universe of "The Amory Wars" — previewing his origin story and expanding the mythos.
"Shoulders" shows no signs of slowing down either. "A total banger… as explosive and catchy as anything they've ever released," declared Revolver which placed "Shoulders" in its weekly "Best New Songs Right Now" round-up. "COHEED AND CAMBRIA are back, and they're heavy as ever," asserted Billboard, with Guitar World attesting "COHEED AND CAMBRIA have come out swinging." Brooklyn Vegan observed, "It finds the band embracing their love of classic heavy metal riffage, before exploding into the kind of soaring chorus that COHEED have been churning out since day one… they sound pretty damn inspired."
For the last 20 years, COHEED AND CAMBRIA has continuously broken the mold of what a rock band can be, forging its own path and building a universe around its music unlike any other. Whether it is in the way its genre-spanning approach to songwriting has allowed it to bridge worlds without being contained to one, or the multifaceted story arc of its albums and comic book series which mark the longest-running concept story in music, COHEED AND CAMBRIA has consistently shaped new standards, never conformed. "Shoulders" touches on the highs and lows of this journey, and how at times it can be frustrating to be an outsider to trendy circles, but in the end, doing it your own way has the biggest rewards.
It's been almost three years since COHEED AND CAMBRIA's 2018 album, "Vaxis I: The Unheavenly Creatures", was released as the band's "return to concept" album. After stepping away with a more introspective album in 2015, Sanchez and the band returned to the conceptual narrative of "The Amory Wars" in what was said to be the first of a five-part series of albums. With the release of "Shoulders" and "Rise, Naianasha (Cut The Cord)", the volume of fans' chatter for "Vaxis II" are loading up the band's social media pages.
Australia's heavy trailblazers NORTHLANE have revealed their daring new single, "Echo Chamber", lifted from their forthcoming sixth album, "Obsidian", set for release on April 1, 2022 via Believe.
A bold expansion of the ever-evolving NORTHLANE sound, "Echo Chamber" is a fully immersive futuristic Matrix rave built around a compulsive beat that marries their signature bottom-heavy groove with dark electronic and techno. Lyrically, "Echo Chamber" looks at the toxic polarization of social media, landing at a timely moment in history with whistleblowers confirming algorithms are deliberately amplifying angry content that is tearing societies apart in the name of engagement. "Echo Chamber" is a critical reminder to log off.
"It's hard to be on the Internet without seeing people get continuously angry about something," says frontman Marcus Bridge. "We're addicted to having a hot take about nothing and it's quite exhausting. At the same time, I shouldn't let it bother me that much but it's like a ringing in my ears after a while, so I'm praying I go deaf."
If you had to sum up NORTHLANE in a word, it would be resilient. In its 12-year career, the four-piece has weathered the kind of storms that would have seen most other bands bow out of the game, yet, through every bout of turbulence, NORTHLANE emerges on the other side with fortitude and a trailblazing body of work that shifts the tectonic plates of heavy music around the globe.
Emboldened by the success of NORTHLANE's 2019 award-winning album "Alien", "Obsidian" is their most expansive and dynamic album yet. Self-recorded and self-produced with the help of their longtime collaborator Chris Blancato, the sound NORTHLANE have been working towards over the span of their career has been fully realized on "Obsidian". Sonically spanning the gamut of their entire discography, NORTHLANE's trademark heavy comfortably coexists with techno, drum and bass, intriguing synths, perplexing time signatures and widescreen choruses. It's this fearless evolution that keeps NORTHLANE light years ahead of everyone else in heavy music.
Earlier this year, NORTHLANE gave us a preview of the album via "Clockwork", a frantic and pulsating fever dream that served as an insight into the mind of a musician forced to be creative after a devastating year and the toll it took on him. Throughout "Obsidian", Bridge chronicles his despair at the state of the world whilst also trying to pick up the pieces and move forward with his own life after sharing his harrowing life story on "Alien". It's bleak, but that's the point.
The release of "Obsidian" will mark an important milestone for NORTHLANE as the band's first independently released record. Forging ahead as a wholly independent entity, NORTHLANE has shunned machinations of the music industry to take complete control of its career. They recently took another step forward by launching their Worldeaters Patreon, with the top tier selling out in just 24 hours.
"Obsidian" track listing:
01. Clarity

"Alien" debuted at No. 3 on the ARIA album chart and #6 on the Billboard Heatseekers Album chart. The record also scored NORTHLANE its third ARIA Award for "Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album" as well as the AIR Award for Best Independent Heavy Album.
Young, enraged and standing steadfastly against hate - SETYØURSAILS have made a name for themselves by not mincing words in the least while churning out the most brutally catchy anthems around. Now, the band is about to take things to the next level, unleashing their purely addictive second album and Napalm Records debut, Nightfall, on January 21. Nightfall promises a mixture of searing metal, gut-punching hardcore and heartfelt melodic elements, leaving room for surprises at every turn. On a total of 13 tracks, SETYØURSAILS makes one thing clear above all: they are more than ready to conquer the scene.
Today, the newcomers from Cologne, Germany set off with their brand new single, “Ghosts”, featuring Annisokay frontman Rudi Schwarzer. This sonic dagger comes along with a crushing official music video, showcasing that SETYØURSAILS never compromises. Prepare for buzzing guitars, intense breakdowns and powerful, vicious shouts that provide the listener with a colossal taste of what’s to come on Nightfall.
SETYØURSAILS about “Ghosts”: “We are very proud to finally be able to show what we have worked so hard on. There is so much heart, sweat and honesty in this album that it's almost scary to let it go. 'Ghosts' brings all the elements of the album together in one song, making it the perfect first single release."
Watch the video for “Ghosts” below.
Nightfall stands as an impressive return for SETYØURSAILS, who once again prove their musical diversity. A mixture of catchy choruses and intense breakdowns are evident on brutally melodic "Why", the changing spectrum of "Deadline", and "Into the Storm", which starts with a crisp deathcore intro. Among others, "Nightfall" (featuring Andy Doerner of metalcore veterans Caliban) shows the full straightforward range of Jules Mitch’s vocals, which oscillate between concise and clear, intense screams and expressive growling. "Mirror" begins atmospherically before bubbling up to an impressive journey through personal conflicts without losing its undeniably catchy quality. With tracks like "Secrets" and "Forgive Me" the band also presents its softer side. SETYØURSAILS are also full of surprises – together with Mike Perez from No Bragging Rights, they cover "Shallow” (from the film A Star Is Born) by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, and give the ballad their personal touch, once again proving their musical diversity. Nightfall was produced, recorded, mixed & mastered by Annisokay vocalist/guitarist Christoph Wieczorek and songwriter/producer Julian Breucker at Sawdust Recordings. Both have already worked with greats like Beyond The Black, Eisbrecher and Emil Bulls – just to name a few.
SETYØURSAILS about their new album: “This album is the most honestly written work we could get out of ourselves. It reflects the struggle of dealing with oneself, fear and life itself. It's dark, it's loud and it hurts. But most importantly - it's true.”
Nightfall will be available in the following formats:
- 1 CD Digipak
- 1 LP Gatefold Recycled Color Vinyl
- 1 Digital Album
Korpiklaani released their 11th studio album, Jylhä, back in February. The album was hailed by critics and fans alike as the most elaborate and mature Korpiklaani album to date.
Continuing the series of entertaining playthrough videos they have been putting out since the release of Jylhä, Korpiklaani have released another drum playthrough video by Samuli Mikkonen, for the single "Mylly", which you can watch below.
Samuli comments: "This song is one of my favourites from the Jylhä album. Demo version was also good but I missed something. I was hesitating for half a second before I had the courage to tell Jonne it was lacking a proper chorus. He said to me that in that case he will make it. After sleepless night he sent me the new riff early in the morning. It was perfect. Just like I imagined it! This is one of the many examples why this record was so inspiring to make. Jonne was very open to take my suggestions to the songs and I really got the feeling that my ideas were welcome and I can make a difference. Jonne is a talented composer and a great dude! Markku Kirves did an amazing job with the video. He’s got a good sense of knowing what looks cool and he is good at directing people. He’s also a master of great ideas...This time he wanted to destroy my drums with milled grain...There was a lot of work in cleaning afterwards but DAMN IT LOOKS COOL!"
Thomas Zwijsen has released the new video below, featuring an acoustic cover of Iron Maiden's "Heaven Can Wait". The song originally appeared on Maiden's 1986 album, Somewhere In Time.

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the release of Seminole, the upcoming new album from Edge Of Forever, on January 21. Today, the band has released a new single and video, "Shift The Paradigm:. Watch the video below, and pre-order/save Seminole on CD/Limited Edition Color LP/Digital here.
Edge Of Forever returns with a new record Seminole, following two years after their fourth album, Native Soul. The last album saw a "rebirth" for the band with new members guitarist Aldo Lonobile (Secret Sphere, Archon Angel) and drummer Marco di Salvia (Hardline) joining with band founder and vocalist/keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio and bassist Nik Mazzucconi (Labyrinth). Seminole continues the band’s tradition of combining inspirational and positive lyrics with powerful riffs, anthemic vocals, and skilled musicianship inspired by the heart and depth of Native American culture.
Once again produced by main songwriter and vocalist Alessandro Del Vecchio,Seminole" lifts every element the band is known for to the next level. With songs like “Get Up On Your Feet Again”, “Breath Of Life”, “Shift The Paradigm”, and “Our Battle Rages On", the album is a reflection of our times with a positive and deep outlook. The album reaches its peak with the ending mini-suite “Seminole”, a four part piece featuring everything distinctive element you would expect from Edge Of Forever: intricate vocal harmonies, soaring choruses, powerful rhythms, and blistering solos set to a story that everybody can relate to. A story of resilience, perseverance, love, and positive mental attitude.
For their last album, the band should have left on tour for a few months, hitting the road with the likes of Harem Scarem, but pandemic hit and, like every other band, they were left with no gigs for a year and a half. So, the band took the time to write and dig down deep to find their best songs. With the majority of the album written by Alessandro Del Vecchio, the final four piece suite “Seminole” sees, for the first time, writing contributions from drummer Marco Di Salvia.
“I didn’t wanna just write another album, another batch of songs. Being a prolific songwriter makes it easy and natural for me to sit down and write, channel the inspiration and translate that idea into music and lyrics. But Edge Of Forever is different for me. It’s my island where I don’t wanna just write songs that I sing. I want to tell stories that can inspire people to reach their goals, live for their dreams, face adversities, and win over all the odds that life throws at us. Native Soul could have easily been a solo record since I wrote it with a band torn apart by personal issues. Then I was lucky when Aldo and Marco entered the picture and could turn it into such a strong album. Still, today I pride myself with Native Soul, but when I put myself in my EOF-mode for Seminole, I wrote every single note for my bandmates. I wanted them to shine and have a blueprint where they could weave our canvas with their personality and definitively be themselves. They were the main drive and inspiration to write these songs and I can’t thank them enough for making these songs what they have become now. We pushed everything beyond our limits: songwriting, production, arrangements, performances, but especially what we delivered in all songs is beyond, beyond us, beyond what my vision was when I wrote these songs. Seminole is a conceptual album about my life, everybody’s life. I tell the story through the lenses of a Seminole warrior and how from a defeat you can still come out stronger and even more resilient, only if you want to. Sit down and enjoy how my story began, in the land of the Seminole…," says Alessandro Del Vecchio.
Seminole is a band effort, a mirror of a group of preeminent musicians feeling as one, ready to conquer with their anthemic vocals, extraordinary musicianship, and inspiring stories.
