BLACK SABBATH Helps Boost BMG Revenues In First Half Of 2019According to Music Business Worldwide, BMG, the Bertelsmann-owned company saw its revenues rise 11.4% year-on-year in the six months to end of June, hitting ˆ269m ($305m), partly due to the extension of the company’s relationship with Black Sabbath
That was up on the ˆ241m posted in the prior year period, with the increase “driven primarily by organic growth”, according to Bertelsmann.
In the first half of this year, said Bertelsmann, the share of BMG’s total revenues attributable to digital formats increased to 56%, “reflecting continuing growth in the digital streaming market”.
In February, BMG songwriters were behind a record 24 number-one hits across the Billboard charts, said Bertelsmann.
BMG launched its 15th international office, in Hong Kong, to further strengthen its footprint in the Asian market.

Exclusive: MESSORA Premiere Title Track From The Door AlbumOne of Montreal’s hardest to classify metal bands, Messora, has wrapped up production on their debut album and is ready for their listeners to succumb to the shifting and numinous music within. The Door is being released on October 4th, 2019.
The Door is comprised of seven challenging tracks that shift between many styles of metal, most noticeably death and progressive with hints of doom among the melodic riffs. The title track is the first single and is the reason this originally intended one-man project blossomed into a full band that has been bringing its malevolent and theatrical performance to stages throughout the local scene. Having played live many times, Messora expects this release to be taken well by fans, as they quote:
“We think that many people who became fans after seeing us live will be thrilled just by the fact that we’re finally presenting them with a record. I think that anyone who considers themselves a fan of ours only does so because of our live show. It’s a record that is kind of progressive but also kind of straight forward and we hope that it will appeal to those who are into progressive music and those who aren’t at all.”
The lyrics on the track “The Door” influenced every subsequent song on the album turning it into a continuation of the first track. Zach Dean explains the track in his own words:
“It’s very catchy and melodic, and it never gets as weird as certain other songs on the record. I really see it as this album’s only ‘single’. The middle section that contains the guitar solo is actually kind of weird. It serves as a great segue between what’s basically the part 1 and part 2 of the song, as well as giving the listener a taste of the more proggy and eccentric sounds that are more present later on in the record. Lyrically it’s about always seeing the problems in the world, and feeling like it’s all the fault of everything and everyone around you. You then get a glimpse at something else, a different place that is different from the one you’re in, and you want to get there.”
Messora crosses boundaries and is ultimately for anyone who likes technical, well-crafted metal, especially those who enjoy Opeth, Children of Bodom, and Lamb Of God.

“The Door”
“Tethered”
“The Veil”
“The Falling Star”
“The Pond”
“Untethered”
“The Tide”

Ex-WHITE LION Singer MIKE TRAMP: Lyric Video For 'Best Days Of My Life' SongThe official lyric video for "Best Days Of My Life", a song from former WHITE LION singer Mike Tramp, can be seen below. The track is taken from his latest studio album, "Stray From The Flock", which was released in March via Target Records.
Stadium concerts. Number one chart entries with solo releases. History of rock'n'roll written all over him. Tramp has had it all. Right now, however, after spending the last two decades studiously carving out a solid solo career for himself, Tramp is happy being Mike Tramp.
"Many years ago, I realized that going back to basics, demanding nothing and being surprised if there was a tray of sandwiches in the dressing room was the way forward," he says.
"Stray From The Flock" is the latest in a stellar collection of records written and released by Tramp since 1997. From the excellence of his solo debut "Capricorn" to "Maybe Tomorrow", the Danish singer has been on a distinctive, solo journey that has seen him reinventing himself and reach a consistency in look, feel and a sound that centers on some of the finest, acoustic-based-yet-hauntingly melodic songs you'll ever hear.
Recorded at Ark Studio in Denmark and mixed in Sweden by Peter Masson, "Stray From The Flock" essentially takes the template of the 2013 release "Cobblestone Street" one step further. It's also an album that pretty much wrote itself.
"I picked up the guitar and the songs just started flying out of me," Tramp said. "I thought, 'Fuck! There's an album that wants to come out of here."
"Stray From The Flock" was released on CD, double gatefold LP on black 140-gram vinyl, limited double gatefold LP on orange color LP, 180-gram (500 copies only), digital and cassette.

STARSET Releases Music Video For New Song 'Diving Bell'The members of STARSET have carved out a unique path as part cinematic rock band, part conceptual storytellers, weaving an intricate narrative through multimedia and redefining the concept of a truly immersive entertainment experience. Led by enigmatic frontman and PhD candidate Dustin Bates, the band has made a mission to take fans on a journey through music, video, AR-integrated performances, a Marvel graphic novel, and online experiences, blurring the lines of science, fact, and fiction.

These have been seeded throughout the campaign for fans to find and for them to become part of the story itself in a search for knowledge and to reveal new music.

SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS: 'Ghost' Performance Clip From 'Living The Dream Tour' DVDSLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS will release "Living The Dream Tour" on DVD+2CD, Blu-ray+2 CD, 3LP black vinyl, limited-edition 3LP red vinyl, digital video and digital audio on September 20 via Eagle Vision.
A new performance clip of the song "Ghost", taken from "Living The Dream Tour", is available below.
"Living The Dream Tour" was shot on location on February 20, 2019 in front of a rabid crowd at London, England's Eventim Apollo. It features Slash and company roaring through a highly charged two-hour set of tracks from all four of Slash's solo albums. The set includes "Call Of The Wild", "Driving Rain", "By The Sword", "Back From Cali", "Starlight", "World On Fire" and "Anastasia". There's a searing live version of "Shadow Life", as well as "We Are All Gonna Die" and "Doctor Alibi", during which lead singer Myles Kennedy switches vocal duties with bassist Todd Kerns. Watch a "first look" of the "Living The Dream Tour" as the band performs "Anastasia" below.
Earlier this year, Slash told Loudwire about the London concert filmed for the live release: "Whenever you do a live recording, all you can do is just wing it. You can hope that that particular show is not going to be the worst one on the tour. Very rarely do you plan to do a live record and it's the most magic show of the whole tour. That's a kind of luck that just doesn't really happen all that often."
He continued: "It was one of the best London crowds that I played in front of with THE CONSPIRATORS, for sure. It was a really great, great, great live [experience], the whole vibe of the thing was great, and it was great that it was at Hammersmith, which is just one of those historical venues. It was a good, energetic show, and I listened to the live recording, or at least some of it, and it's totally raw, and all the mistakes are in there. We don't really doctor any of it, so it's a pretty honest representation of what happened that night."
DVD/Blu-ray bonus feature: "Live In London" mini-documentary, including interview with Slash and Myles, plus behind-the-scenes footage of the tour.
SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS' 2019 worldwide tour in support of their most recent studio album "Living The Dream" continues with the launch of their North American headlining tour through July 15 in San Francisco. The trek will include festival stops at Heavy Montreal in Quebec on July 28 and at Lollapalooza on August 4 in Chicago, Illinois.
"Living The Dream Tour" track listing:
01. The Call Of The Wild
02. Halo
03. Standing In The Sun
04. Ghost
05. Back From Cali
06. My Antidote
07. Serve You Right
08. Boulevard Of Broken Hearts
09. Shadow Life
10. We're All Gonna Die
11. Doctor Alibi
12. Lost Inside The Girl
13. Wicked Stone
14. Mind Your Manners
15. Driving Rain
16. By The Sword
17. Nightrain
18. Starlight
19. You're A Lie
20. World On Fire
21. Avalon
22. Anastasia
"Living The Dream" was released in September via Slash's own label Snakepit Records, in partnership with Roadrunner Records.
"Living The Dream" is Slash's fourth solo album, and third with Slash and his bandmates Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass and vocals) and Frank Sidoris (guitar and vocals). The artwork was created by renowned visual artist Ron English.
"It's a natural progression from 'World On Fire', for sure," Slash said of the new album. "I think it has a little more diversity — some of the ideas are not really what I would consider to be predictable." At the same time, he adds, "The record is also a bit more structured, with songs that are shorter and more to the point than last time." Kennedy concurred. "I don't know that there are as many of those sort of 'epic sonic journeys' that we took on the last record," he said. "Although there are songs that take you on a trip, like 'Lost Inside The Girl'. But overall, a lot of these songs — things like 'My Antidote', 'Read Between The Lines', 'Slow Grind' — they're pretty precise statements, and they definitely fall in line with the type of sound we're known for. There's a certain type of sonic calling card that we've developed over the years, and you can hear it front and center on this record."
"It's just a snapshot of where we're at," Slash continued, summing up "Living The Dream". "Which is what we're going for with each new album — to be present in what we're doing and come up with something that is representative of and reflects this moment in time." 2

OPETH Frontman: 'I Don't Take Anything For Granted With This Band'In a recent interview with Metal Injection, OPETH guitarist/vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt said that he approaches each new album as if it could be his final one. "It's been in the back of my mind every time I start writing for a record that it might be the last one," he said (see video below. "It might be people just abandon us and we don't have a career or we can't afford [to keep going], or whatever. Or you get tired, or you can't write. I don't take anything for granted with this band, even though we have almost a 30-year… I've been in the band almost 30 years now. I almost said '30-year career,' but it took a good 10 years before we had what could be considered a career.
"It's good for me to write music thinking that this might be it," he continued. "Then I don't slack. It's good. It's such an important thing in my life, I don't wanna treat it in any other way than with the utmost respect. Especially if I'm writing music myself, it needs to be there. And it can't be corrupted by business [people]. I mean, it will be in the end anyway. Once I give the record away, business takes over. But when it comes to music, if somebody tries to suggest things to me, I'll off them. That's all I care about."
OPETH's 13th album, "In Cauda Venenum", will be released on September 27 via Moderbolaget / Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Recorded last year at Stockholm's Park Studios, the disc will be released in two versions, in both Swedish and English languages. Various physical and digital formats will be available.

Listen To New FOZZY Song 'Nowhere To Run'"Nowhere To Run", a brand new song from FOZZY — the band featuring former WWE wrestling superstar Chris Jericho alongside members of STUCK MOJO — can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming follow-up to 2017's "Judas" album, tentatively due in the spring of 2020 via RED Music.
Jericho recently said that FOZZY would have a new single out in time for the band's September 14 concert in Los Angeles with IRON MAIDEN and a new full-length record in January or February of 2020.
According to Chris, FOZZY will take the time it needs to make a worthy follow-up to "Judas", whose title track has 31 million YouTube views, was No. 1 on iTunes charts in eight different countries and spent nine weeks in the top ten on the Active Rock Charts in the USA.
"The thing is you can't rush something like this, because 'Judas' had three Top 10 singles on it," he explained. "So it was a huge breakthrough for us — it really took us to the next level. Your next record has to be better — not as good; it has to be better. And so there's no reason to rush it. I find in this biz, 'Here today, gone later today,' if you make the wrong decisions, is very easy, and also, 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder.' So while people are waiting, as long as we know we've got some of this, like, 'Wow, this is very, very good, and we're gonna really continue this build that we've got,' then we'll be ready. Until then, we're gonna take the time it takes to get it right."
There is no danger, however, that FOZZY fans will undergo the same struggles experienced by followers of GUNS N' ROSES, who spent more than a decade waiting for the arrival of "Chinese Democracy" before it was finally released in 2008.
"I guarantee it won't take 14 years to put out the next FOZZY record," Chris said. "And I think you see that with [other] bands — METALLICA [taking] eight years between records. I don't think there's any reason for that — especially not for us. We wanna get it done, but we don't wanna rush it. But we also know there's a black hole, like a window that you have to go through. If you wait too long, people forget about you. So I think it's been… It'll be two years in October [since the release of 'Judas']. Probably another six to eight months after that's the perfect time frame."
FOZZY recently signed a major deal with Sony Music and Jericho told Loudwire in a recent interview that he is open to releasing music in any way that the label suggests. He said: "Maybe we just do nine singles and don't do a full album. We're excited to do a record if they want us to, or if they want us to release singles like they do in the Top 40 world, that's fine too. All that matters is that people hear your music and get a chance to see you live."

SHADOWTHRONE Unveil “Path Of Decay” Lyric VideoItalian black metal band, ShadowThrone, will release their sophomore album Elements’ Blackest Legacy on September 27th via Non Serviam Records.
Today the band unleashes the new single taken from the follow up album to Demiurge Of Shadow, released in 2017. Behold the “Path Of Decay” lyric video:
ShadowThrone guitarist Steph comments: “Finally time has come to release ‘Path Of Decay’, the first single from Elements’ Blackest Legacy. This track has been taken from the first demo ‘Through The Gate Of Dead Sun’. The original version was just a shy attempt to research the right sound. It was the first track that I wrote before calling the band ShadowThrone and there was a different lineup. Personally, I define ‘Path Of Decay’ as atmospheric violence, arctic and cosmic dimension. It’s an open gate for the new album. Hope you enjoy it.”
Pre-order Elements’ Blackest Legacy now at this location.
Elements’ Blackest Legacy features a more powerful and black metal-oriented sound, along with a cold and sidereal dimension. Death / black metal riffs, epic synths and violent growls / screams are the elements of a new black metal era.
The album was produced by ShadowThrone and mixed and mastered by Riccardo Studer (Stormlord). The artwork was created by occult artist Nestor Avalos (Dark Funeral, Rotting Christ, Vital Remains).
Tracklisting:
"Endless Dance Of The Universe"
"Black Dove Upon My Shoulder"
"All Is One"
"Curse Of The Royal Blood"
"Descent"
"Every Moment Burns In My Chest"
"Path Of Decay"
"ShadowThrone"

The Slyde performed at the festival after winning the 2019 Wacken Metal Battle Canada competition and being selected to represent their home country at the Wacken Metal Battle international final. BraveWords is premiering the new live video, which can be seen below.
Vocalist/ guitarist Nathan Da Silva: “It was a real honour and pleasure to perform on the Holy Lands of Wacken. We made a lot of awesome friends and connected with a lot of bands in the Metal Battle. The festival does such an amazing job to keep all metalheads happy. We were also pleasantly surprised with how the weather held up this year, except for, ironically, during our soundcheck, where there was a 2-hour weather delay that forced us to cut two songs from our set. Despite these last-minute changes, we rocked the hardest we could and gave it our all. To say that we played the world’s biggest heavy metal festival means a lot to us. Thank you to all the organizers, judges and fans for making this possible. In addition, we have found even more drive to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our band, with eight shows in September and October and new music and a music video to release in the next few months. ”
Now back on Canadian soil, The Slyde will be kicking off their 10 Years And Counting Tour to celebrate their 10 years of performing and recording their melodic prog rock since first forming in Ottawa, ON in 2009 to later re-locate permanently to Toronto, ON.

WALKWAYS Debut Official Music Video For "Thank You"Israeli metallers, Walkways, have released a video for "Thank You", a track from their new album, Bleed Out, Heal Out, available via via Nuclear Blast. Watch the clip below.
The album journeys through six chapters. It begins with a heart break and a deep disappointment, goes into a struggle with the urge to avenge and let a darker side take over, from there comes the chapter of release and unchaining from the burden of trauma. Then comes the step of letting someone new in to your life, the stage of loving again. Following that is a contemplation of the outside world - being horrified by our ways as human beings (wars, environmental pollution and animal abuse) and a strong desire to correct and evolve as one and a shout out to change as a whole.
To end the album, there is a recurring chapter of convergence due to the shock from the outside world, which is again flooded with great disappointment and a kind of despair from the current situation, but the deep desire to correct and transcend the internal and external chaos is always preserved.

THE DEAD DAISIES - GLENN HUGHES Named New Singer And Bass PlayerIn an unexpected and surprising lineup shuffle, vocalist John Corabi and bassist Marco Mendoza have both left The Dead Daisies. Announced as a two-in-one replacement is singer / bass player Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Black Country Communion).
The Dead Daisies is now a four-piece comprised of: guitarist David Lowy and Doug Aldrich (Dio, Whitesnake), drummer Deen Castronovo (Journey, Ozzy Osbourne), and vocalist / bassist Glenn Hughes. The quartet has released a new song, "Righteous Days", which can only be heard on the band's official website.
A statement from the group reads:
"The Dead Daisies are a musical collective, whose members come together through a common love for great rock music. It’s a living, breathing, musical organism with the credo, 'Rock is indeed alive & well!'
From the band’s inception, the idea was for members to bring their own ideas to the table but also have the flexibility to come and go when working on their other projects.
Both John and Marco are, and always will be, a part of The Dead Daisies musical family, but at this point in time they have decided to do some work on their own solo projects.
Yes, the guys have recenty been in the studio in LA recording some new music with legendary singer & bass player Glenn Hughes. ‘Righteous Days’ is airing exclusively across the planet this week.
David, Doug, Deen & Glenn head back into the studio later in the year to finish the album and look forward to seeing you on the road in 2020!!
Get out there, live your life and just enjoy the music!!"

TIDES FROM NEBULA Share “Ghost Horses” VideoTides From Nebula share their new single "Ghost Horses" along with a music video. It's the second new song taken from their 5th studio album From Voodoo to Zen coming September 20th via Long Branch Records (SPV) and Mystic Production.
"It seems that being a three piece made us work harder and challenged us to write better music. I’m pretty sure this is one of the reasons the album ended up sounding so rich and epic," states guitarist Maciej Karbowski. "Musically and visually this new record is a sidestep for us, which came subconsciously. We just followed our gut feeling and as we were recording in our own recording studio, we could work on every small detail and I am sure that this album will develop with every listen. We are super curious about the listeners reaction."
From Voodoo To Zen is without a doubt the most epic and huge sounding album that Tides From Nebula have created so far. The LP is self produced and recorded by the band at Nebula Studio as well as mixed and mastered by Jacek Miłaszewski at 4dB Ride.
From Voodoo To Zen is available for pre-order here.

MOKOMOKAI Release "World Of Sorrow" Music VideoMokomokai have released their latest music video, for their track "World Of Sorrow", from the 2018 release Shores Of The Sun.
Taking a new age hard rock sound with a taste of some old school influences such as Diamond Head, Judas Priest, Motörhead, and Black Sabbath, Mokomokai’s explosive lineup starts with originals John Ellis on high-octane guitar and Halfordesque vocals matched by the heavy bottom of bassist Jermy Pastic along with Bobby Deuce (of east coast heavyweight quartet Iron Giant). Mokomokai recently firmed up their assault with the addition of JJ Tartaglia (of renowned Toronto bands Skull Fist and Final Trigger).
The music video for the track "World Of Sorrow" is incendiary and artistic capturing the well-refined range of the vocals alongside the bluesy bass lines, and tight guitar work that rounds out into a gripping heavy rocking ballad.
Stepping it up from inner-city Toronto, Canada by way of the province of Ontario’s pastoral Lakeland frontier of Peterborough, Mokomokai is a hard-rocking foursome whose thundering stage assault has set the Canadian rock and metal tour circuit alight since first forming in 2011.

In conjunction with this announcement, Voyager have shared the energetic new single, "Colours", along with a music video. The video, which was created by Dark Spirit Photography, can be found below.
Vocalist Danny Estrin comments on the video: "We wished to continue having Australian landscapes as a feature point in our music videos following on from the epic music video for ‘Brightstar.’ So, to incorporate more of a cityscape vibe for this dark, yet uplifting synth number inspired by Steve Winwood, ‘Colours’ was intended to demonstrate that we are all colours in the sun, and that we as a band are progressing on our onward journey to the next release, as can be visualised in the video."
Danny Estrin comments on the album: "Colours In The Sun is the most transcendent, layered, and effervescent album we have written and recorded. It’s poppy, but still holds weight with crunchy, powerful riffs. It's a true reflection of Voyager - five individuals from different roots coming together and creating a unique sound under the Australian sun."
