TYKETTO Release Strength In Numbers Live; "The End Of The Summer Days" Official Audio Available

TYKETTO Release Strength In Numbers Live; "The End Of The Summer Days" Official Audio Available

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Tyketto’s new live album, Strength In Numbers Live. Consisting of lead vocalist Danny Vaughn, drummer Michael Clayton, keyboardist Ged Rylands, guitarist Chris Green, and bassist Greg Smith, Tyketto perform all the songs originally included on the Strength In Numbers album, plus an unreleased song "Wait Forever", a song that was written and recorded with the rest of the album, but only appeared as a bonus track on the Japanese release of the album.

The album come as a celebration of the 25th year anniversary of the release of the band's second studio album, Strength In Numbers. The band finished the writing sessions of their sophomore album by mid-1992, but anyone who lived through the grunge revolution knows just how quickly it swept through the world of rock music and forever changed the landscape of the industry. While the wheels of that machine gained momentum in those early years, an unknowing Tyketto continued to do what they did best: skillfully write, arrange, and record memorable and meaningful melodic hard rock songs. When the album saw the light of day in 1994, a time when grunge and alternative were dominating the charts and radio, Tyketto soldiered on and came out with arguable the best melodic hard rock record of the year. The band’s European and U.K. fanbase welcomed the album with open arms, which resulted in the band enjoying successful touring abroad to those very audiences. Every Tyketto fan knows the story from there and, thankfully, of the rebirth we have been blessed with these past few years.

Tyketto embarked on the Strength In Numbers 25th Anniversary Tour in March 2019 and it was a slam dunk, with both the band and audience in prime form. All the shows had an intense, yet personable energy about them and the entire March tour was recorded for this new live release. A beautiful release to complement the recent Live in Milan release where Tyketto performed their debut album, Don't Come Easy from start to finish.

The band will hold two very special shows in the UK to celebrate the album’s release. See below for dates and venues.

October
25 - Queen’s Hall - Nuneaton
26 - Corporation - Sheffield

Watch VIO-LENCE Perform At PSYCHO LAS VEGAS

Watch VIO-LENCE Perform At PSYCHO LAS VEGAS

Psycho Entertainment has uploaded video footage of VIO-LENCE's August 18 performance at the Psycho Las Vegas festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. Check it out below.

VIO-LENCE released three studio albums between 1988 and 1993. The group reunited soon after guitarist Phil Demmel left MACHINE HEAD in late 2018.

VIO-LENCE performed its first comeback concert in April at the Oakland Metro in Oakland, California and spent the last few months playing select shows in the U.S. and Europe.

The band's current touring lineup consists of Demmel, vocalist Sean Killian, drummer Perry Strickland, bassist Deen Dell and guitarist Ray Vegas.

Although MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn was part of VIO-LENCE's classic incarnation and played on the band's debut album, "Eternal Nightmare", he wasn't contacted about doing the comeback shows.

Demmel recently told Australia's Heavy magazine about VIO-LENCE's comeback: "This whole thing kind of started slow, right after I quit MACHINE HEAD and did a little bridge thing with SLAYER [filling in for Gary Holt]. Sean reached out about doing a couple of shows, and I was pretty floored, because he wasn't looking too good the last time I saw him. [Editor's note: Killian received a liver transplant in 2018.]… My only concern was Sean, and how he was physically. I think that all the other things could be put into place, but there's no VIO-LENCE without Sean Killian. [It was about] making sure that he was going to be good, and be able to pull it off. I didn't want to go out there and just kind of prop him up and have him just be going through some — not midlife crisis, but some sort of thing that he just wanted to do. I wanted it to be quality, because we've always put on a pretty quality product whenever we got together and jammed."

Asked about the prospect of new VIO-LENCE music, Phil said: "We're just kind of enjoying getting through the shows and playing with each other. We're going to be getting to a part where we're traveling together, so we're still kind of feeling each other out in that sense. New music? Sean's itching to write some new music. I'm not itching as hard. I've got a lot on my plate. VIO-LENCE is definitely a priority, but that's just a step I haven't... It's hard, because you have this comeback, and then you play the songs, and you want to be good. I don't want to put out something that isn't as good as 'Eternal Nightmare' or some of the songs from 'Oppressing [The Masses]'. I want to have something that's quality. I want to be with these guys long enough to know that that can happen, because I don't want to put out something shitty. I don't want to taint the feeling that people would have, because I know the live show's there, but I don't know that the creative part, that aspect of it, is there yet. Until I'm sure of that, I just kind of want to enjoy what we're doing now. [We're] just really trying to be kind of delicate with it. All the fun we're having, I don't want to fuck it up."

Watch VINCE NEIL Perform In Island Lake, Illinois

Watch VINCE NEIL Perform In Island Lake, Illinois

Fan-filmed video footage of Vince Neil's August 17 performance at Sideouts Bar & Eatery in Island Lake, Illinois can be seen below.

Neil is continuing to tour the world with his backing group, which includes Dana Strum and Jeff Blando from SLAUGHTER, along with drummer Zoltan Chaney.

Speaking to "Trunk Nation", Vince acknowledged that he is currently the only member of MÖTLEY CRÜE who is waving the flag for the band's music by performing CRÜE songs as a solo artist.

"It's a cool thing, because I love MÖTLEY CRÜE, I love MÖTLEY CRÜE's music, and I love singing, and I love the fans' reactions when they hear the songs," he said. "Whether we're playing in front of a thousand people or twenty thousand people, I can only see the front row anyway. So I'm happy for me and for the fans to be able to still hear that music after MÖTLEY CRÜE is finished."

The film adaptation of MÖTLEY CRÜE's biography, "The Dirt", was released on March 22. The movie, which was helmed by "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" director Jeff Tremaine, was picked up by Netflix after being previously developed at Focus Features and before that at Paramount.

Last year, MÖTLEY CRÜE recorded four new songs for "The Dirt" movie, including the single "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (Feat. Machine Gun Kelly)", "Ride With The Devil", "Crash And Burn" and the band's own spin on Madonna's "Like A Virgin".

MÖTLEY CRÜE's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles", which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.

In 2015, MÖTLEY CRÜE completed "The Final Tour", closing the book on the band's iconic career after performing a total of 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing over $100 million.

To cement the sense of finality, the four members of MÖTLEY CRÜE in 2014 publicly signed a "cessation of touring" contract that prevents any of them from performing under the CRÜE name in the future.

A tour film about MÖTLEY CRÜE's final shows, "The End", came out in 2016.

DENIAL OF GOD - The Hallow Mass Due In October; Artwork, Tracklisting Unveiled

DENIAL OF GOD - The Hallow Mass Due In October; Artwork, Tracklisting Unveiled

Danish black metal band Denial Of God is set to return with their third album, The Hallow Mass. Scheduled to be jointly released by Osmose Productions and Hells Headbangers on October 25th, The Hallow Mass was preceded by the short 'n' sweet The Shapeless Mass EP in June, which stoked the fires for yet more new recordings since 2012's Death And The Beyond.

Denial Of God have perfected an idiosyncratic style of black metal that's positively drenched in the supernatural and remains firm in their conviction of more classicist-styled songwriting. In fact, "black metal" might even be a misnomer; rather, black horror metal would be more accurate.

Recorded once again at Berno Studio, where the previous two albums and several EPs were recorded, The Hallow Mass is indeed a massive experience, comprising seven epic-length tracks in an incredibly visual 63 minutes - or put more accurately, six central songs and one intermezzo, underlining Denial Of God's undeniably cinematic approach to metal.

Indeed, within that cinematic experience lays the band's most varied and diverse album to date, and boldly do they begin with the 15-minute sorta-title track "Hallowmas", which includes a compelling middle section consisting solely of keyboards - even more bold for Denial Of God, as they generally end their albums with the longest track.

Nevertheless, The Hallow Mass ends on a high note with the straightforward-yet-twisted "The Transylvanian Dream," and in between those two tracks do the trio somewhat subvert their trademark melancholy: more aggressive overall than, say, the solemn Death And The Beyond, but dive deeper into the material and discover that same strong sense of melancholy, built upon their characteristic horror aesthetic and theatrical performance.

Of course, backed by outstanding drumming from Galheim, frontman Ustumallagam gives another commanding performance which further underlines Denial Of God's ever-unique nature: raw, blackened vocals that never become senseless screaming, but which actually make the lyrics relatively easy to understand and penetrate the listener's consciousness.

Topped off by stunningly atmospheric full-gatefold artwork by Markus Vesper, who delivered the art for Death And The Beyond, Denial Of God's The Hallow Mass is the timely return of true black horror metal.

Tracklisting:

"Hallowmas"
"Undead Hunger"
"The Shapeless Mass"
"The Lake In The Woods"
"Hour Of The Worm"
"A Thousand Funerals"
"The Transylvanian Dream"

Pre-orders can be placed now at this location. Expect a first track premiere to be revealed shortly.

LEAH Launches Crowdfunding Campaign For Upcoming Ancient Winter Album

LEAH Launches Crowdfunding Campaign For Upcoming Ancient Winter Album

Symphonic / Celtic vocalist Leah - described affectionately by her fans as "the metal Enya" - has launched a crowdfunding campaign for her upcoming winter-themed album, Ancient Winter. A variety of bundle packages are available for pre-order directly at this location.

Says Leah, "When I went to create this album, I had the idea of making music that was a bit more accessible than my regular symphonic metal music, while also drawing on themes that really inspire me such as gothic and medieval culture, ancient melodies and fantasy. What I ended up with is holiday music for people who hate holiday music. I would describe Ancient Winter as earthy, atmospheric, gothic, worldly and medieval. I hope this becomes a favorite for metal and non-metal fans alike!"

Ancient Winter features eight tracks - five of which are originals and three traditional century medieval songs that Leah puts her own unique touch on.

"It's a mixture of several musical genres and styles, but still it makes something whole and round," says fiddle / viola / violin player Shir-Ran Yinon. "On one hand you have the Celtic and folk music style... but you also have the orchestral parts that are really epic and are taken a bit more toward the film music direction. You also have parts that are medieval and renaissance style and a few songs are really based on traditional melodies."

With the help of a generous and dedicated fanbase, Leah has been able to crowdsource and fund three of her five recordings without the assistance of a record label. These effective crowdfunding campaigns have also afforded Leah the opportunity to bring in top-notch talent to play alongside her beautiful vocals. A diverse cast of musicians - including Troy Donockley (Nightwish), Anna Murphy (Cellar Darling), Shir-Ran Yinon (Eluveitie), Oliver Philipps (Everon, Phantasma) and renowned string musician - join Leah on Ancient Winter, adding an international flavor to the album.

Tracklisting:

"The Whole World Summons"
"Light Of The World"
"Upon Your Destiny"
"Redemption"
"The Messenger"
"Gaudete"
"Puer Natus"
"Noel Nouvelet"

Ancient Winter offers a slight departure from symphonic metal into a more atmospheric, ethereal sound. It is a more earthy sounding album filled with new instrumentation such as fiddles and uilleann pipes which give it a beautiful harmony of middle eastern feeling and Celtic folk and fantasy.

"This new album we made is very different from all previous releases because it's the first one that does completely without the element of metal," says musician Oliver Philipps, who also oversaw production and orchestration. "It turned out pretty great. When Leah came to me with the idea of doing this winter album, I liked the idea very much."

Ancient Winter represents a new approach to holiday music as it celebrates winter themes in a way that is sure to give it a wider appeal. This is not simply a "Christmas album" but rather an emotional journey into transcendent ideals that will inspire any listener from anywhere. See below for a preview of the album.

"My favorite song on the album is a song called 'Gaudete,' which is a beautiful 16th century Christmas carol," says Celtic piper and flutist Troy Donockley, "I'm a huge fan of Yuletide songs, Christmas songs and songs of Advent, and I've had quite an involvement in that area over the years, so it was a winner from day one for me. If you love high-quality music that is beautifully sung that isn't of the mainstream and is completely accessible, then you will probably love this. It's a beautiful album."

KONKHRA Release "Thoth", Second Single From New Album Alpha And The Omega

KONKHRA Release "Thoth", Second Single From New Album Alpha And The Omega

After a ten year absence, Denmark's Konkhra returns with a brand new album, Alpha And The Omega, due on October 18th via Hammerheart Records. The second single, a song called "Thoth", can be heard now:

There has always been a hidden hand that moves between the known and the unknown. The pertinent minds have felt this for ages: The question of what lies between the veils of existence. From monks choir atop mountains of solitude to the modern man's desire to move against the stream. What lies beyond power, life, spirit and the profane world? Whose hands wove the dna of all life?

Konkhra’s lyrical themes to their new album: Alpha And The Omega. The music speaks for itself. Extreme but balanced within the boundaries of their patented groove and grinding metal roots. Death from the perspective of the living. Power from the vantage point of the poor. Love in the hearts of the lonely and lost. And hope, when all hope is gone forever.

The artwork, pictured below, is done by Michal “Xaay” Loranc (Pestilence, Nile).

Check out the first single from Alpha And The Omega, a song called "Babylon":

Konkhra's current lineup consists of:

Anders Lundemark - vocals / guitar
Hakim - guitar
Martin Kristensen - bass / backing vocals
Johnny Nielsen - drums

Italy's CARNAGESLUMBER To Release Debut Album In October; Teaser Streaming

Italy's CARNAGESLUMBER To Release Debut Album In October; Teaser Streaming

Italian label Extreme Metal Music will be releasing fellow countrymen Carnageslumber's full length, Sadistic Mechanical Evolution, on October 25, to follow the band's self-titled debut EP also unleashed on the label in 2016. Pre-order here.

Inspired by the likes of Deicide, Morbid Angel, Nile, and Cannibal Corpse, Carnageslumber have been assaulting the masses with brutal technical death metal since 2014. Evolving their approach of extreme music with an "old school style" along with their lyrics based on human guinea pigs and self-destructive behaviour, the band offers up a sound that is best described as 'gloomy, dark, dirty, low, yet classic'. This next release is more mature and technically advanced to showcase how the band has grown musically since their first effort.

Featuring vocalist Paolo “Zodd” Sofia (Velchans), drummer Lorenzo Reina (ex-Cadaver Mutilator) and guitarist Salvo Di Marco, Carnageslumber's forthcoming album is ready to annihilate fans with over 30 minutes during eleven gut-punching tracks that unleash a carnage that will wake you up from your slumber.

The band states: "Sadistic Mechanical Evolution is the canvas on which we wanted to describe the morbid need of humankind (and other "living things"). Focusing particularly upon the exploitation of the human guinea pig, analyzing, and in some cases, both state of mind, victim, and executioner. Almost every song written on this album expresses all of this through the free inspiration and interpretation of more or less famous films, books, comics, and historical events."

Trackisting:

"Termical Visions"
"Vibrating Dead Toungues"
"Versuchspersonen"
"XperimentX"
"Mitochondria"
"Symbiotic Age"
"3.1"
"Mercur(e)y"
"Herbert"
"Carnageslumber"

You can see the entire 3.5 hour movie on Disc 2 of the new Blu-Ray release of Stillness In Motion that will be available September 13. Pre-order info coming soon!"

Vai previously stated: "On September 13th, I'm proud to be releasing Stillness In Motion on Blu-Ray for the first time! It originally came out on DVD because Sony decided not to release a Blu-Ray, but I always felt it should be released on Blu-Ray so I got the rights back and am now releasing this concert and amazing bonus footage on Blu-Ray.

"The package consists of 2 Blu-Ray discs, one is the full concert performance from Club Nokia and the other is The Space Between The Notes, which is one my favorite projects that I've ever completed. The Space Between The Notes has over 3.5 hours of off-stage video footage and photo montages. If you are interested in behind-the-scenes type footage, this is the mother load!

"This package will also include 2 audio CDs with all of the audio from the Club Nokia show.

"At this time, I’m working on composing new and tweaking existing symphony scores that will all be recorded in the studio in June 2020 with various orchestras in Europe. I’m enjoying doing this a lot… like a lot a lot. And I’m happy to announce that the entire concept for my next studio record was downloaded to me from the abyss as a mental image about 2 weeks ago, so after I finish the orchestra music, I will be starting on that. Thanks so much for following all this."

Iceland's HELFRÓ Sign To Season Of Mist; Debut Album Due In Early 2020

Iceland's HELFRÓ Sign To Season Of Mist; Debut Album Due In Early 2020

Season Of Mist announce the signing of Icelandic black metal band Helfró to the Underground Activists sub-label. The band's debut album will be released early 2020 via Season Of Mist Underground Activists.

Helfró comment: "We are extremely proud of our debut album and it therefore brings us joy to have joined Season Of Mist. We believe it is the best platform for our music, as our musical palette has been influenced greatly by bands on the SoM roster. We are absolutely focused on producing the fastest and darkest of melodies, and having SoM's support guarantees us the means to stay on that path."

Written by Ragnar (Ophidian I, ex-Svartidauði (live), ex-Beneath and ex-Valkyria (live)) and arranged by Símon (Ophidian I), a debut album has been recorded with unforgiving precision and profound musicianship. It is meant to channel the hopeless and empty feelings that have been concentrated from the frozen wastelands from which the band emerges.

Shrilling guitar work and unforgiving blast beats weave together a soundscape that rarely leaves room for thought. It is an aural attack, seducing the listener to the barren and desolate black sands where the realization of futility and loneliness sets in heavier than anywhere else.

The band members, veterans in extreme music, have created this project as an audio representation of the endless arctic darkness, and with pride present Helfró.

Lineup:

Ragnar S: Composition, drums, vocals
Símon Þ: Arrangements, guitars, bass, vocals

BLOOD RED THRONE Launch Video For New Song "InStructed InSanity"

BLOOD RED THRONE Launch Video For New Song "InStructed InSanity"

Norwegian death metallers, Blood Red Throne, have released a video for "InStructed InSanity", a track from their upcoming Fit To Kill album. Find the clip below.

Blood Red Throne needs no introduction in the death metal world. But in case you need one: they've killed it since 1998, when guitar player Død (ex-Satyricon) formed the band. Since then, they've become a death metal legend and one of the hardest working names in the Norwegian scene, having released eight studio albums, done countless tours and played in major festivals worldwide.

Now it's time for album number 9. Fit To Kill has nine songs of pure Norwegian death metal, a cover artwork designed by Giannis Nakos and sees Blood Red Throne at the peak of their form.

Død states: "We keep climbing the Throne. Fit To Kill is by far our most old-school release since 2003's Affiliated With The Suffering. Back to the roots. Death metal never dies.”

Fit To Kill will be released on CD, vinyl LP (transparent and green versions) and digital through Mighty Music on September 13. Pre-orders are available at this location.

Tracklisting:

“Requiem Mass“
“Bloodity“
“Killing Machine Pt. 2“
“WhoreZone“
“Skyggemannen“
“InStructed InSanity“
“Movement Of The Parasites“

Exclusive: EMPTY TRAIL Premier "Lost" Music Video

Exclusive: EMPTY TRAIL Premier "Lost" Music Video

After the success of their debut single "My World", which saw them crack the US Top 40 Radio Charts and debut week of release at #2 behind Metallica, three-piece Texan rockers Empty Trail have released their next single and first for Golden Robot Records, "Lost". BraveWords is premiering the video for the song, which can be seen below.

Lost is a bonafide arena rock smash, with its epic chorus and brooding verses building to something best experienced live but still designed to blow up your stereo. Frontman Rick Lambert describes the song as a search for a missing piece. It may seem like anger, but it’s really loss. The Grief for something you can’t find anymore.  It’s a cathartic release that everyone can relate to.

Listen to "Lost" on Spotify, and watch the official video below:

Having been groomed on the riffs of Metallica and Megadeth and the dark emotions of Soundgarden and Alice In Chains, Empty Trail distil the best parts of these most iconic heavy hitting bands while maintaining authenticity. Catchy as hell and even poppy at times, each song on Lost stands alone as well as complimenting the other tracks.

In a world where singles are once again at the forefront over albums, Empty Trail have got an arsenal of songs to appeal to everyone. From the strained emotions of opener Wait Around, the driving groove of Every Toll, to the slower, brooding Reality and the soaring stadium sounds of the EP’s anthemic title track, this is definitely all killer and no filler.

The Lost EP will be released on October 18. Pre-order here.

DIRTY RATS To Release End In Tears Album In December; Details Revealed

DIRTY RATS To Release End In Tears Album In December; Details Revealed

Australia's Dirty Rats will release their second full-length album, End In Tears, on Friday, December 13. End In Tears features 13 new hard driving original rock compositions from the songwriting team of Beovich/Rich, ranging from rock anthems to drinking songs and even some old school blues, just to shake things up a little.

The album will be released just one year after their first album, Rock N Roll, which received critical praise from press around the world.

Dirty Rats are a no bullshit Aussie pub rock band, playing beer barns and inner city clubs throughout Melbourne and country Victoria. Over the last 30 years, the band have developed a sound that is typically Australian hard rock, think AC/DC, Rose Tattoo. But listen closely and influences from MC5, Motörhead and even some punk rock can be heard. They have developed a loyal fan-base both here and overseas based on their first album, Rock N Roll, and high energy shows for bugger all money, precious little industry recognition, but purely for the enjoyment of playing loud “balls to the wall” rock.

After numerous lineup changes which saw some excellent players and some complete nut jobs pass through the bands ranks, Dirty Rats are now a lean, mean and explosive 4-piece band pumping out some of the best new guitar driven rock, with a uniquely 80's flavour that you will hear today.

Tracklisting:

"The Juice"
"Axis Of Love"
"Love From A Distance"
"End In Tears"
"Jaded"
"The Ballad Of Hobbit Foot"
"Hurts Like A Mother"
"Boss Of Me"
"My Life Is A Clinche"
"Fantasy"
"Bad News Woman"
"Rat Rock"
"Rock Star"

Dirty Rats lineup:

Wayne (Richie Rat) Rich - Vocals
Jamie Beovich - Bass
Anthony (Chooka) Chapple - Guitar
Andy Thomson - Drums

TARJA's In The Raw Unboxed; Video

TARJA's In The Raw Unboxed; Video

Tarja's new album, In The Raw, will be released this Friday, August 30, via earMUSIC. Watch a new unboxing video below.

As the saying goes, 'not all that glitters is gold'. But then again, not all that is gold necessarily glitters. It was this idea that struck Finnish singer Tarja Turunen as she began work on her seventh solo album, In The Raw.

“Gold, we think, is something polished and perfect, sophisticated, a luxury - but in its natural state it’s a raw element," explains Tarja. Just like the music on her upcoming album: a combination of sophisticated and refined orchestration, choir and her classically trained voice with a raw, dark heavy musical core. Simply put, In The Raw is a gold-plated work of wonder.

Vinyl Artwork

Three years on from her last album, 2016’s The Shadow Self, In The Raw finds Tarja and her beautiful voice sounding, as ever, truly stunning. Working with many of the same musicians and production team as before, the intention was to bring out the idea of rawness to match the feelings Tarja was having from the very beginning of the process. The album finds Tarja going to raw, personal places in her lyrics. Opening herself up more than ever before, she says she was left feeling naked by her honesty, but also pleased at where she had gone with her words.

The first look at the album, the brand-new song “Dead Promises”, is all this and more. Matching the stunning power of Tarja’s voice with a thunderous guitar, the aggression she speaks of is brought to the front, not threatening to shatter something fragile, but reinforcing its power. “I really like how the guitar sounds: in your face,” she says. “If I’m singing powerfully, I need something powerful behind me so that I don’t feel like I am left alone.”

Fans will find that the album includes a different version of the song with guest vocals by Björn “Speed” Strid of Soilwork. Watch the lyric video for "Dead Promises" below.

The concept of gold and its raw state extends to the album’s artwork. In start, here we find Tarja in St Michael’s Cave, Gibraltar, framed in vivid colour and golden sheen.

In The Raw will be released on August 30 via earMUSIC as CD Digipak (limited print run including hardcover O-card), 2LP+Download, Limited Box Set and Digital. Pre-order here, or here.

AARON AEDY Confirms PARADISE LOST Is Working On Follow-Up To 'Medusa'

AARON AEDY Confirms PARADISE LOST Is Working On Follow-Up To 'Medusa'

Impact metal channel conducted an interview with guitarist Aaron Aedy of British gothic doom pioneers PARADISE LOST prior to the band's July 11 appearance at Rockmaraton festival in Dunaújváros, Hungary. You can watch the entire chat below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On whether PARADISE LOST is working on the follow-up to 2017's "Medusa":

Aaron: "Yes. That's why we're sort of slowing down the touring. We only got five more shows left including tonight. I think Nick [Holmes, vocals] and Greg [Mackintosh, guitar] have already started writing. That's exciting. Waiting for that to come together and starting to rehearse new songs and whatnot. I haven't heard anything yet, so I can't give anything away. Knowing them two, it will be a bit miserable and very PARADISE LOST."

On the feeling he gets when listening to his own music or performing on stage:

Aaron: "I love it. The thing is, the reason we formed PARADISE LOST 31 years ago was to make the music we wanted to hear for our own pleasure. The reason we're still going 31 years later is because we still enjoy what we're doing and we're still writing for ourselves. We're lucky that other people seem to like it as well, but we never wanted to make an album that we thought people would like just to appease fans. We're our own biggest critics, first and foremost. If we're happy when we release [an album], then hopefully people will like it, too. Playing live, personally, I absolutely love playing live. I get lost in the music. I love it. Being part of it organically over the years has been one of the most wonderful things to enjoy. That's why I'm getting excited for album number 16, whatever that's going to be called."

On whether PARADISE LOST would consider playing another one of their studio albums in full live as they did in 2010 for "Draconian Times" and 2016 for "Gothic":

Aaron: "It depends if it feels right. We were getting asked for a long, long time, probably about 10 years, to do 'Draconian Times' in its entirety, but we wanted to wait until we had written an album that was heavier than 'Draconian Times' so it didn't seem like we were just going back to something like a cash-in. When we got around to doing it, when we rehearsed the songs, we were, like, 'Fucking hell, these songs were great.' When we were in the rehearsal room, it was great. I love 'Shades Of God'. There were songs on there we hadn't played for years. It was great to do. 'Gothic' was interesting to do as well because some of those songs, we were 19 or 20 when we wrote them. Doing those songs was really interesting. Some songs more than others, but there's some great songs on that record, and just adding the modern guitar and we've improved as players as well over that time. It's quite interesting to go through them again. We're not against it. We're very proud of all our material. I don't know… It'd be quite interesting to play 'One Second' or 'Icon', which would be quite good. That would be quite good to do, actually. There's some great, classic PL songs. We were talking about the 'Chaos A.D.' tour [in support of SEPULTURA in 1993] we had just released 'Icon' for that, then we toured Europe in February, March after that tour. It was such a wonderful time. That album was great, and was a springboard for 'Draconian Times'. You never know. I think 'Icon' might happen before 'One Second'. We haven't discussed it all, so there's no plans. If somebody comes along and offers it… We don't feel compelled to do it to earn money or anything. If we feel comfortable doing it, we'll do it just for the joy of doing it and sort of revisiting old songs. There's quite a few songs on 'One Second' that I haven't played for years, like 'Disappear', and 'This Cold Life'. I love playing that one live. It would be great to do. There's loads of them we could do. There's 15 albums down the road. We could tour all the time doing old albums. You never know. Never say never, there are no plans at all in the offing. But we're not against it. We quite enjoyed the two times we'd done it."

"Medusa" was released in September 2017 via Nuclear Blast. The artwork was created by Branca Studio and shows the infamous Gorgone Medusa from Greek mythology, carrying venomous snakes as hair and turning anyone into stone who would dare to look into her eyes.

AS I LAY DYING: Pro-Shot Video Of 'Confined' Performance From 2018 European Tour

AS I LAY DYING: Pro-Shot Video Of 'Confined' Performance From 2018 European Tour

Professionally filmed video footage of AS I LAY DYING performing the song "Confined" during the band's 2018 European tour can be seen below.

AS I LAY DYING's seventh album, "Shaped By Fire", will be released on September 20 via Nuclear Blast Records. The disc was produced by the band and was mixed by Joseph McQueen at Sparrow Sound in Los Angeles, California, while mastering was completed by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in Nashville, Tennessee. The only exception was for the track "My Own Grave", which was produced by AS I LAY DYING, co-produced by Drew Fulk and mixed by Adam "Nolly" Getgood. The artwork was created by Corey Meyers.

AS I LAY DYING's upcoming disc will be the band's first since singer Tim Lambesis was sentenced to six years in jail after pleading guilty to paying a San Diego police officer posing as a hitman $1,000 to kill his wife. Approximately two and a half years later — in December 2016 — he was discharged from a California detention facility and was transferred to the Division of Adult Parole Operations.

In June 2018, AS I LAY DYING played its first show with Lambesis in five years and released a new single, "My Own Grave". Lambesis also owned up to his crimes in a long apology on the band's Facebook page after his release.

November saw AS I LAY DYING complete its first U.S. tour in five years and the band followed it up with a European run of shows. Another single, "Redefined", arrived in April.

The return of AS I LAY DYING raised some questions, particularly since guitarist Nick Hipa categorically denounced the band's disgraced frontman as a "sociopathic narcissist in definite need of rehabilitation" in a social-media post back in 2014.

AS I LAY DYING will embark on the "Shaped By Fire" U.S. headlining tour in the fall. Support on the trek will come from AFTER THE BURIAL and EMMURE.

Former BIOHAZARD Frontman EVAN SEINFELD Launches Hip-Hop Project SVG$

Former BIOHAZARD Frontman EVAN SEINFELD Launches Hip-Hop Project SVG$

SVG$, the new hip-hop project featuring former BIOHAZARD frontman Evan Seinfeld, has released its debut single and music video, "Authentic". The track was released via Inked Music, a subsidiary of the tattoo lifestyle digital media company Inked.

Inked said in a statement: "The long wait is over. We at Inked are proud to be launching Inked Music with the world debut of hip-hop artists SVG$'s new song called 'Authentic'! This is the first-ever song release in the history of Inked Music. We have been looking forward to this day, and it is here! We had so much fun making this video with our beautiful Inked and IsMyGirl models. We put our hearts into this project, especially for you, and we hope you like it as much as we do!"

Seinfeld made his final recorded appearance with BIOHAZARD on 2012's "Reborn In Defiance" album, which marked the first LP featuring the band's original lineup in 18 years.

The group, which is acknowledged as one of the earliest outfits to fuse hardcore punk and heavy metal with elements of hip-hop, has been out of the public eye since Evan's replacement, Scott Roberts, left more than three years ago.

For the past eight years, Seinfeld has been married to Lupe Fuentes, a Colombian house music producer, DJ, and former pornographic actress.

Last year, BIOHAZARD guitarist/vocalist Billy Graziadei told Mass Movement that he no longer has any contact with Seinfeld, who left BIOHAZARD eight years ago after fronting the group since its 1987 inception. "I haven't talked to him since he quit the band a long time ago." Billy said. "I was a little bit… I would say 'bitter,' but hurt. But I think he quit the band years before he actually physically quit. But I wish him well. I don't have any ill thoughts on that situation. We moved on. And Scott was a great addition to BIOHAZARD, but he also quit."

KITTIE's MORGAN LANDER Joins Montreal's KARKAOS

KITTIE's MORGAN LANDER Joins Montreal's KARKAOS

KITTIE frontwoman Morgan Lander has joined the Quebec metal band KARKAOS as its new lead singer.

Says Lander: "Joining KARKAOS has been a true honor for me. It feels so incredibly good to be back in the metal game after a number of years away, and I cannot wait to step on the stage once again with these amazing musicians."

Adds band founder Vincent Harnois: "We already knew how talented Morgan was when we began talking to her about joining the band. When she sent us her first demos, we realized that this was going to be something extremely special. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and she brings a whole new dimension to our songs. It is an honor to have her with us and we are thrilled to start the next chapter or our band together."

Forged out of the ashes of a much earlier band incarnation by Harnois in 2003, KARKAOS has quickly evolved into one of the most respected and celebrated metal acts from Montreal, Canada. Mixing elements of death metal, power metal and hard rock, this female-fronted band succeeds in bridging the gap between extreme darkness and light, beauty and terror. KARKAOS has performed alongside international acts such as INTO ETERNITY, ENSLAVED, THE AGONIST, UNEXPECT, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, DELAIN and LEAVES' EYES.

KARKAOS released its first EP, titled "In Burning Skies", in 2010, closely followed by a professionally shot music video and a live appearance on Montreal's prestigious music television station Musique Plus. Striking while the iron was hot, the band returned to the studio to record their critically acclaimed debut full-length album "Empire" in 2013, led by the single and music video for "Depths Of Madness". After years of crafting their live show and refining their sound, once again KARKAOS managed to come back stronger and more accomplished than ever with the release of their second full-length album, "Children Of The Void", in 2017, a testament to their work ethic and strength as a band, diversifying their sound with the addition of the immensely talented and seasoned drummer Justine Ethier (BLACKGUARD, SYKODE).

KARKAOS is ready to push the boundaries of extreme melodic metal with its upcoming follow-up to "Children Of The Void". The band entered Silverwings studio earlier this month to demo and work on pre-production on eight new songs.

KARKAOS expects to record its next full-length this fall/winter for an early 2020 release.

ROB HALFORD Doesn't Rule Out K.K. DOWNING's Return To JUDAS PRIEST: 'What Will Happen Will Happen'

ROB HALFORD Doesn't Rule Out K.K. DOWNING's Return To JUDAS PRIEST: 'What Will Happen Will Happen'

Rob Halford hasn't ruled out the return of K.K. Downing to JUDAS PRIEST, saying that "what will happen will happen."

The guitarist, who left PRIEST in 2011 amid claims of band conflict, shoddy management and declining quality of performance, was replaced by Richie Faulkner, nearly three decades his junior.

As part of a question-and-answer session during his appearance at Alice Cooper's Solid Rock Teen Center in Phoenix, Arizona on Friday (August 23), Halford was asked if there is a chance that Downing will rejoin PRIEST at some point in the not-too-distant future. "It is such an emotionally charged question," the PRIEST singer replied, according to Sleaze Roxx. "It's like, 'Why isn't Ace [Frehley] back in KISS?' I think what will happen will happen. I know that's kind of a nebulous response. I like to be as honest as I possibly can. I think being honest is a pretty good way to live your life, and I don't want to send mixed messages."

Bassist Ian Hill recently said that there were no plans for PRIEST to invite Downing to return to the band.

Story continues after advertisement
propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('blabbermouth_news_side_1'); });

"Richie took over from Ken," Hill told Riff Magazine. "He's done an absolutely tremendous job, he really has. And he's made Ken's parts his own now. He's got his own angle on the lead breaks. Ken's part's been taken, and there's no plans to have Ken back, really. Hey, listen, never say never. But at the moment, we're going along quite well without Ken, so it could stay like that, I think, at least for the foreseeable future."

Last fall, Downing dismissed as a "load of bollocks" Hill's explanation for why K.K. wasn't invited to rejoin the band after fellow guitarist Glenn Tipton's Parkinson's diagnosis was made public.

"We were like brothers; we went to infant school together and secondary school together, and we lived our career together," Downing said. "But I'm not totally happy about what's being said. Ian seems to be [saying] things like, 'None of the fans are missing K.K.,' and, 'Richie has brought a new energy to the band.' And I'm going, 'Ian, dude, on that last tour, I was the energy. I slowed down because people weren't keeping up with me.'… So I'm thinking, Ian, get a grip with yourself, mate. You've just replaced the energy with some energy. Fine — well, great. But that's not moving forward, Ian."

Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease five years ago — after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier — but announced in February 2018 he was going to sit out touring activities in support of PRIEST's latest album, "Firepower".

Last summer, Downing revealed that he sent two resignation letters to his bandmates when he decided to quit JUDAS PRIEST. The first was described as "a graceful exit note, implying a smooth retirement from music," while the second was "angrier, laying out all of his frustrations with specific parties."

Downing later said that he believed the second letter was "a key reason" he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST after Tipton's decision to retire from touring.

Downing's autobiography, "Heavy Duty: Days And Nights In Judas Priest", was released last September via Da Capo Press.

MYLES KENNEDY On Playing With Members Of LED ZEPPELIN: 'It Was Definitely One Of The Highlights Of My Musical Career'

MYLES KENNEDY On Playing With Members Of LED ZEPPELIN: 'It Was Definitely One Of The Highlights Of My Musical Career'

ALTER BRIDGE and Slash vocalist Myles Kennedy says that his 2008 studio jam with the instrumental members of LED ZEPPELIN was "definitely one of the highlights of [his] musical career."

Kennedy rehearsed and wrote music with guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham over the course of two sessions after Page and Jones were looking for a way to keep working following LED ZEPPELIN's incredible one-off performance at the O2 Arena in London in December 2007.

During a recent interview with Ultimate Guitar, Kennedy said about his short-lived collaboration with Page, Jones and Bonham: "It was originally gonna be like a project. I don't think they were going to call it LED ZEPPELIN. But just the fact that the people who were involved were, you know, former members of LED ZEPPELIN, was pretty, pretty heavy and certainly carried a lot of gravity. In a good way.

"So when I got that call and have the opportunity to fly to London and hang with those guys, it was obviously a dream come true. That happened over 10 years ago and I still have to pinch myself and ask myself: 'Did that actually happen?' [Laughs] It seems so far-fetched in a lot of ways.

"It was definitely one of the highlights of my musical career, without a shadow of a doubt."

Back in 2017, Kennedy revealed that no video was shot of the sessions but he said that he "has heard different accounts" about whether an audio recording of the rehearsals exists. He clarified, however, that the site of the jam "was not, like, a legit recording studio."

Surprisingly, Kennedy said that he would prefer it if his collaboration with the ZEPPELIN trio remained unheard by the general public. "I actually hope [it] didn't [get recorded], because I was actually pretty sick," he told radio personality Eddie Trunk. "I had come off a tour in Australia, and I remember I got there and I had bronchitis or something, and I remember it took a few days for my voice to come back. So I hope there is nothing that exists. [Laughs]"

Kennedy previously told VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show" that he would "remember to [his] dying day" the rehearsals he had with Page, Jones and Bonham. "We played 'The Rain Song', which is probably my favorite LED ZEPPELIN song, 'No Quarter', 'Kashmir'. It was a lot of fun," he said.

Kennedy told The Pulse Of Radio what it was like to play with the members of LED ZEPPELIN. "It was so surreal, it was just unbelievable," he said. "I spent the day there in a studio with those guys. playing songs, and next thing you know, I believe in September that year, we got together again and spent what I like to consider probably the greatest week of my life playing with those guys. And any time I'm having a bad day, I think about those days and suddenly everything feels a lot better 'cause I got to experience that."

Although there were rumors of staggering sums being offered to LED ZEPPELIN for a full tour after the O2 Arena concert, singer Robert Plant elected to continue with his solo career instead.

Page and Jones also tried out AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler and SOUNDGARDEN's Chris Cornell, with Page telling Rolling Stone in 2012: "Various people thought we should go on tour. I thought we needed a good, credible album, not do something that sounded like we were trying to milk the [reunion]."

Kennedy released his debut solo album, "Year Of The Tiger", in March 2018 via Napalm Records. The effort was helmed by ALTER BRIDGE's longtime producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette.

ALTER BRIDGE will release its sixth studio album, titled "Walk The Sky", on October 18 via Napalm Records.

KISS's GENE SIMMONS Celebrates 70th Birthday Onstage In Saratoga Springs (Video)

KISS's GENE SIMMONS Celebrates 70th Birthday Onstage In Saratoga Springs (Video)

KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons celebrated his 70th birthday last night (Saturday, August 24) onstage during the band's concert in Saratoga Springs, New York. Fan-filmed video footage of the crowd singing 'Happy Birthday" to the iconic rocker can be seen below.

Earlier this year, Simmons — whose actual birthday is August 25 — admitted in an interview with Australia's "Sunday Night" that he gets "exhausted" while performing with KISS, but denied that it was a factor in his band's decision to call it quits after the comption of the "End Of The Road" farewell tour. "It's because of the pride that we have," he explained. "Remember, we introduce ourselves with 'You wanted the best. You got the best. The hottest band in the world: KISS.' I want those words to mean something, even until the very last show. I'm gonna be 70. Bitch, you wanna get into my outfit, you wanna step into my shoes? Ten pounds each. There'll be about 42 to 45 pounds of gear. Oh, yes, you have to shoot fire out of your mouth, sometimes out of your ass. And you're exhausted at the end of it. So, could I be in a band until my late 70s? Sure. But I'd have to join U2 or THE [ROLLING] STONES, put on a pair of sneakers and a t-shirt and just strum. But in terms of physicality, we're the hardest-working band on earth."

The rest of 2019 will see KISS playing an additional 14 concerts in North America, nine final shows in Australia and New Zealand, and five more in Japan.

KISS's current lineup consists of Simmons and fellow original member Paul Stanley, alongside later band additions, guitarist Tommy Thayer (since 2002) and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).

Formed in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, drummer Peter Criss and lead guitarist Ace Frehley, KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup.

Tony Hernando's RESTLESS SPIRITS Release Music Video For "Nothing I Could Give To You" Feat. JOHNNY GIOELI & DEEN CASTRONOVO

Tony Hernando's RESTLESS SPIRITS Release Music Video For "Nothing I Could Give To You" Feat. JOHNNY GIOELI & DEEN CASTRONOVO

Lords Of Black guitarist Tony Hernando is one of the most exciting guitarists, writers, and producers in the European metal and rock scene today. With his many talents, it was a natural next step for him to stretch out and work on a solo album after the promotional cycle for Lords Of Black's third album, Icons Of The New Days, wrapped up.

Hernando has always been passionate about melodic hard rock music, so the idea of pairing him with some of the best singers from his fellow labelmates' bands to lay their vocals over his songwriting seemed not only logical, but destiny. Thus, Restless Spirits was born and the self-titled debut is out now via Frontiers Music Srl. Order the album here, and watch a video for the song "Nothing I Could Give To You", below.

Aside from Hilli, guest vocalists include none other than Johnny Gioeli (Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell), Deen Castronovo (Revolution Saints, ex-Journey), Dino Jelusic (Animal Drive), Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline), and Diego Valdez (Dream Child and now, the new vocalist for Hernando's main project, Lords Of Black). In addition to vocal duties, Deen Castronovo also takes care of drums on every track.

Hernando says, "Restless Spirits is a melodic hard rock record featuring several singers that showcases some different sides of my playing and songwriting. We have rockers, ballads, and everything in between. I had the opportunity to work and co-write with some of the best guys in the business. I hope everyone can enjoy this album as much as I did recording it!”

Restless Spirits is an album that showcases some of the most outstanding vocal talents operating in the melodic hard rock scene right now, while also offering truly exciting and adventurous melodic hard rock songwriting. Enjoy!

QUEEN + BÉJART: Ballet For Life - "A Kind Of Magic" Video Clip

QUEEN + BÉJART: Ballet For Life - "A Kind Of Magic" Video Clip

On September 6, Eagle Vision will release Queen + Béjart: Ballet For Life, which documents Queen’s music as the inspiration for a unique ballet that has endured for over twenty years, on DVD, Blu-ray & digital video. The DVD and Blu-ray will also be available as deluxe editions, packaged in a 36-page hardback photo book featuring photos from the Ballet For Life. Pre-order here, and watch "A Kind Of Magic" clip below:

Ballet For Life was a unique collaboration between three cultural brands: Queen, Versace and the late visionary choreographer Maurice Béjart, celebrating the life and talents of legendary performers, Freddie Mercury and Maurice Béjart’s former principal dancer, Jorge Donn, both of whom died of AIDS. It was first performed in the Théâtre de Chaillot in January 1997 in the presence of Madame Chirac, Elton John and the three surviving members of Queen, John Deacon, Brian May and Roger Taylor.

Queen + Béjart: Ballet For Life features two programs: the documentary by Lynne Wake and Simon Lupton, and a full 1997 performance of the ballet by the Béjart Ballet Lausanne. The documentary, edited by Emmy Award winner Christopher Bird, tells the story of the creation and success of the ballet featuring the great and the good of both rock and dance, including: Brian May, Roger Taylor, Gil Roman, Wayne Sleep and Arlene Phillips. The performance includes incredible archive footage of Freddie Mercury, Maurice Béjart, Queen and Gianni Versace, as well as featuring Versace’s stunning costume designs. The production continues to tour widely, but is captured here performing at Théâtre Métropole, Lausanne in June 1997.

The Ballet For Life film is directed by Maurice Béjart and David Mallet, known specifically for directing live performance concerts of such megastars as Tina Turner, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, and numerous Queen videos including “Bicycle Race”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “I Want to Break Free”, and Freddie’s classic “The Great Pretender” video.

Maurice Béjart’s long-standing friend Gianni Versace was tragically killed in Miami shortly after the filming in Lausanne. Sadly, this departure into the world of ballet for Versace proved to be one of his last.

The production marks the ultimate fusion of Queen’s sweeping emotional melodies, both live and studio tracks, and the timeless ethereal grace and movement of ballet. It is the first and only time a full-length ballet has been paired to rock music, albeit alongside some traditional pieces from Mozart. The theme of the choreography is about the cycle of life and life triumphing over death, which perfectly reflects the mood of the songs. Dancers fuse classical and modern ballet seamlessly to songs including, "It’s a Beautiful Day", "I Was Born to Love You," and "Radio Ga Ga", closing with the spectacular "The Show Must Go On". This release also includes a substantial segment of John Deacon’s final performance with Queen, taken from the Queen + Béjart Ballet For Life premiere performance with Elton John in Paris.

Béjart explained that with Ballet For Life he wanted to bring Freddie Mercury back to life, in doing so he created a delight for both Queen and ballet fans alike. Breaking with tradition, the packed audience applaud throughout the show. This is ballet as you’ve never seen it before, with the wild-eyed euphoria of a rock concert.

Appropriately, Queen + Béjart: Ballet For Life will be released the day after the annual Freddie For A Day events, marking the birthday of the late, great Freddie Mercury.

100% of royalties payable by Eagle Rock Entertainment to Tonleigh Ltd will be donated to The Mercury Phoenix Trust fighting AIDS worldwide.
