UNE MISÈRE To Release Sermon Album In November; Music Video For Title Track Streaming

Icelandic wrecking crew, Une Misère, will be unleashing their full length debut, Sermon, unto the world on November 1 via Nuclear Blast Records. In celebration of the announcement, the band offer fans the music video for the first single, "Sermon". Watch the video, directed by Amy Haslehurst, below.

Une Misère's vocalist Jón Már Ásbjörnsson comments, "We’re extremely excited to release 'Sermon' upon the world as it is the first single off our upcoming album. The song is about the inner struggle that a person can have within themself. In a sentence it’s about being ready to go to the end of the world just to destroy yourself. We hope that people are as up for it as we are."

Sermon was produced and mixed  by Sky van Hoff with mastering completed by Svante Forsbäck. The album was engineered by Marco Bayatl, Sky Van Hoff and Marco Kollenz. The album artwork was created by Niklas Sundin.

The product of a modern age; the sonic nature of Une Misère cannot be easily defined. With an inherently heavy nature, the band sits somewhere on a vast spectrum of blackened hardcore and aggressive metal.

"The Summary"

"Porcelain" video:

Rising Insane delivers their music in a dualistic manner, apart from the common post-hardcore norm; rageful outbreaks chained to a melancholic surrender are giving their songs a unique emotive touch. The sudden and surprising variety is the key to a new experience that will shackle the listener to their music.

Rising Insane is and has alway been own initiative, investing both heart and soul in the music and everything else that has to deal with being a band. Releasing their debut album Nation in June 2017, they definitely paved a way to move on to higher ground. Solid mixtures of crushing metalcore elements with a punk-rock-like influence are getting along with rest-in-your-head clean vocals.

Since the release, Rising Insane captivates over and over again, playing alongside bands like The Devil Wears Prada, For Today and Stray From The Path. The long journey has further inspired the band, which leads to a more self revealing kind of music. With this passion, Rising Insane joined the Band Annisokay at the end of 2018 to a 14-city tour through Germany and Austria, also joined the stage at the Impericon Festival 2019.

Strengthened by the energy of this ride, they produced and recorded their second album, Porcelain, set for a November 2019 release. Still it is all self initiative - and with it comes the most honest, inspiring and haunting music, Rising Insane has ever done.

Tour dates:

31 - Worpswede, Germany - BULK-Festival

EMPTY TRAIL Release "Lost" Single; Debut EP Release Date Confirmed

EMPTY TRAIL Release "Lost" Single; Debut EP Release Date Confirmed

After the success of their debut single "My World", which saw them crack the US Top 40 Radio Charts and debut week of release at #2 behind Metallica, three-piece Texan rockers Empty Trail have now released their next single and first for Golden Robot Records, "Lost".

Lost is a bonafide arena rock smash, with its epic chorus and brooding verses building to something best experienced live but still designed to blow up your stereo. Frontman Rick Lambert describes the song as a search for a missing piece. It may seem like anger, but it’s really loss. The Grief for something you can’t find anymore.  It’s a cathartic release that everyone can relate to.

Listen to "Lost" on Spotify, or below.

Having been groomed on the riffs of Metallica and Megadeth and the dark emotions of Soundgarden and Alice In Chains, Empty Trail distil the best parts of these most iconic heavy hitting bands while maintaining authenticity. Catchy as hell and even poppy at times, each song on Lost stands alone as well as complimenting the other tracks.

In a world where singles are once again at the forefront over albums, Empty Trail have got an arsenal of songs to appeal to everyone. From the strained emotions of opener Wait Around, the driving groove of Every Toll, to the slower, brooding Reality and the soaring stadium sounds of the EP’s anthemic title track, this is definitely all killer and no filler.

The Lost EP will be released on October 18. Pre-order here.

RUSH: New Trailer For 'Cinema Strangiato' Film

RUSH: New Trailer For 'Cinema Strangiato' Film

A new trailer for RUSH's "Cinema Strangiato: An Annual Exercise In Fan Indulgence" is available below. The film will get a one-night-only cinematic screening on August 21.

"Cinema Strangiato: An Annual Exercise In Fan Indulgence", which takes viewers behind the scenes of RUSH's 2015 "R40" 40th-anniversary tour, features song performances, unreleased soundcheck and backstage footage, and new interviews with producer Nick Raskulinecz and RUSH fans Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, Taylor Hawkins, violinist Jonathan Dinklage and more.

RUSH singer/bassist Geddy Lee, who released "Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book Of Bass" in December, told the 93.3 WMMR radio station about "Cinema Strangiato": "What it is is basically a way of celebrating the 'R40' tour in the sense on a big screen. It's taking a lot of stuff that fans might have seen on that video, the concert footage, but it's added a few twists to it — there's some soundcheck footage, there's some pieces that people haven't seen and haven't been released, and there are interviews with various musicians blah-blah-blah-ing about us. [Laughs] So I think the intent of the record company, in that regard, was just to create something that you can't have at home. Going into a venue with a ton of other like-minded RUSH fans and celebrating the final tour, as it were."

The Trafalgar Releasing and Anthem Entertainment event has been made possible through a partnership with Concord Music Group.

Trafalgar Releasing senior vice president for acquisitions Kymberli Frueh said: "Trafalgar Releasing is thrilled to bring 'Rush: Cinema Strangiato 2019' to theatres around the globe for the first of what we're hoping will become an annual event — bringing fans together to experience a celebration of one of the world's most popular rock bands."

RUSH has been completely inactive since completing the "R40 Live" tour four years ago. Drummer Neil Peart was battling enormous physical pain through much of the trek, including a foot infection that made it agonizing for him to even walk.

A few years ago, guitarist Alex Lifeson told Rolling Stone that he receives injections for psoriatic arthritis. He was previously hospitalized for anemia from bleeding ulcers and suffered breathing problems.

Lifeson and Lee have repeatedly said that RUSH will never do a show unless all three musicians agree to take part. They haven't performed as RUSH without Peart since he joined the band in 1974.

MARYANN COTTON Signs Worldwide Deal With El Puerto Records; New Album Due In Early 2020

MARYANN COTTON Signs Worldwide Deal With El Puerto Records; New Album Due In Early 2020

Maryann Cotton has signed a worldwide deal for three albums with El Puerto Records. The new album is set to be recorded in Maryann’s home town Las Vegas during the summer.

Says the band: ''We are happy to announce that we just signed a worldwide deal with El Puerto Records. We just finished the music and songwriting for the new album, and now we're ready to hit the studio and record it. We are so happy about the new material, our new album is going to be the best one we've done so far. We are looking forward to all future endeavours with El Puerto Records.''

The new album is set to be released in early 2020.

Maryann Cotton adds: "It always takes some time to find your own style, but after three albums and a lot of touring we finally found the right direction for the new album. The vibe and attitude of the new album is going to be a lot more majestic meets cabaret all bundled up in a dirty sleazy package. I already have the title for the new album as well, and I can't wait to start the whole process in a very few days."

THE RODS Drummer CARL CANEDY To Receive Lifetime Achievement Steamtown Music Award

THE RODS Drummer CARL CANEDY To Receive Lifetime Achievement Steamtown Music Award

The 6th Annual Steamtown Music Awards will take place on September 12th as part of the Electric City Music Conference in Scranton, PA. Earlier today, organizers announced the recipient of the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award exclusively on NEPA Scene. This year’s ceremony will honor Cabondale drummer and accomplished producer Carl Canedy, a member of the legendary heavy metal band The Rods.

“Carl’s name has come up every year that we’ve presented the Lifetime Achievement Award, and he’s always been beyond deserving. Not only did The Rods achieve outstanding success in the ’80s – they still have a cult following today. Not to mention his producing career. Your favorite metal and thrash bands have undoubtedly been influenced by him, whether you know it or not. I feel like every time I log into Facebook, I see a post about Carl jetting off for Europe to play in front of tens of thousands of people at an open air festival,” noted Joe Caviston, co-organizer of the Steamtown Music Awards.

Canedy is the drummer of The Rods, who were signed to Arista Records and released classic ’80s albums like The Rods, Wild Dogs, In The Raw, and Let Them Eat Metal and toured with the likes of Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, and Motorhead. Canedy also played on Jack Starr’s 1985 album Out Of The Darkness with Rhett Forrester of Riot and Gary Driscoll of Rainbow. The band also released albums under the labels Shrapnel Records, Combat, and Music For Nations.

While he is an accomplished drummer, Canedy also has producing credits for 30+ albums, including classics by Anthrax (Armed And Dangerous and Spreading The Disease), Overkill (Feel The Fire), Exciter (Violence & Force), Possessed (Beyond The Gates), and Attila (Rolling Thunder), just to name a few.

SLIPKNOT Scores Third No. 1 Album On BILLBOARD Chart With 'We Are Not Your Kind'

SLIPKNOT Scores Third No. 1 Album On BILLBOARD Chart With 'We Are Not Your Kind'

According to Billboard, SLIPKNOT's "We Are Not Your Kind" sold 118,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first of release to land at position No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Of that sum, 102,000 were in album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

"We Are Not Your Kind"'s sales were boosted by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with SLIPKNOT's tour, which kicked off late last month.

The LP is SLIPKNOT's fifth top 10 effort on the Billboard 200. The Iowa-bases masked metallers previously landed in the top 10 with 2014's ".5: The Gray Chapter" (No. 1), 2008's "All Hope Is Gone" (No. 1), 2004's "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" (No. 2) and 2001's "Iowa" (No. 3).

"We Are Not Your Kind" was once again recorded at a Los Angeles studio with producer Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" and helmed ".5: The Gray Chapter".

Earlier this year, singer Corey Taylor told the Des Moines Register that some of "We Are Not Your Kind" was written while he was forced to "figure out who I was" following his recent divorce, without relapsing into substance abuse.

"All I was doing was giving and I found myself absolutely, completely tapped," he said. "You could see it in my skin. You could see it in my eyes. That's basically the journey I'm going to take people on this album … show them what happens to depression when you have no chemicals to fall back on."

In a separate interview with BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show With Daniel P. Carter", Taylor said that SLIPKNOT's new album is "probably the furthest we've pushed the boundaries of creativity and experimentation, while also not losing our identity.

"There are bands out there who, they go for all of that experimentation and they forget who they are — they forget that there's an audience that wants to hear a certain type... It doesn't have to be the exact thing, but there has to be a certain emotion that they are looking for, that they wanna hear... There has to be that touchstone. You can go as far out as you want, but you have to be able to pull them back to that feeling that made them fans in the first place. And I really think we did that with this album. We not only went places that we've hinted at, musically, over the years, but never really went full-bore, but we're also doing heavier things than we've ever done."

Go Behind The Scenes Of DEF LEPPARD's Second Las Vegas Residency

Go Behind The Scenes Of DEF LEPPARD's Second Las Vegas Residency

DEF LEPPARD kicked off its second Las Vegas residency last Wednesday night (August 14) at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. An eight-and-a-half-minute behind-the-scenes look at the gig is available below.

The band's 23-song set included two tracks which had never been performed before — "Let Me Be" from "X" and "We Belong" from "Def Leppard" — along with rarely played cuts "Die Hard The Hunter" (aired for the first time since 1992), "Slang" (first time since 2013), "Billy's Got A Gun" (first time since 2002), "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad" (first time since 2005) and "Now" (first time since 2003). There was also a mini-acoustic set in the middle, consisting of four tracks.

The band is playing a total of 12 "Def Leppard Hits Vegas: The Sin City Residency" shows in August and September.

DEF LEPPARD played its first Las Vegas residency six years ago at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, a pioneering effort for a rock band.

Speaking to Las Vegas Magazine about how the setlist for the new residency would be different from the 2013 performances, vocalist Joe Elliott said: "We're not doing the same show. In fact, we may not do the same show twice on this one. We've got a ton of songs we've not played for a long time and others we've never played live, so we're mixing those in with the ones that we couldn't get out of the room if we didn't play.

"We've never been scared of our hits," he added. "If you can't handle the responsibility of a hit, then don't write it. And we get such a kick out of doing them in front of an audience. We'll never get bored of that."

Zappos Theater has previously hosted residencies from Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Lionel Richie and has announced more dates with returning star Pitbull, as well as residencies from Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera.

Tickets for "Def Leppard Hits Vegas: The Sin City Residency" went on sale in February. The nine remaining performances are August 20, 23, 24, 29 and 31 and September 1, 4, 6 and 7.

DEF LEPPARD's latest greatest-hits collection titled "The Story So Far - The Best Of", was released in November.

The band was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in March. The honor came after the British rockers got the most votes in the Rock Hall's online fan poll.

SHAVO ODADJIAN On Possiblity Of New Music From SYSTEM OF A DOWN: 'Why It Isn't Happening Is A Big Question'

SHAVO ODADJIAN On Possiblity Of New Music From SYSTEM OF A DOWN: 'Why It Isn't Happening Is A Big Question'

SYSTEM OF A DOWN bassist Shavo Odadjian says that "creative differences" are to blame for stalled attempts to record a follow-up to the band's "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize" albums, which came out in 2005.

Last year, guitarist Daron Malakian publicly accused singer Serj Tankian of not wanting to record, with Tankian responding that creative and financial issues with Malakian led to the stalemate. In a message on Facebook, Tankian wrote that Malakian wanted to control SYSTEM's creative process, take more of the publishing money and be the only band member to speak to the press.

Odadjian told SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation" in a brand new interview that Serj and the rest of SYSTEM OF A DOWN have been unable to come to an agreement over how to go about making new music.

"We haven't made a record for 12 years," he said. "We do play live still. We do tour — not as often as I would like to. But I am blassed for being able to still do it. When we're put together, the four of us, we're not hating on each other — we hang out; we have a good time. It's just we haven't made music together. Which is kind of frustrating, I'll be honest. 'Cause I know we can make 'the bomb' music together."

Asked if there are fragments of new songs that have been written for a possible new SYSTEM OF A DOWN album, Shavo said: "Yeah, there are. No recordings. Two years ago, we got together, the three of us — minus Serj, because, at the time, he was doing a lot of solo stuff, and we were, like, 'We don't wanna wait around. Let's just get in there and see what we can do.' And we got in and wrote about 10 or 11 songs. Daron brough seven or eight songs, and I brought four or five ideas in that become songs, and they became songs — minus Serj's vocals, of course. It was really good. It came out really great. And I hope to one day go back to those and use some of Serj's stuff. I know Serj's got some stuff."

Pressed about the reasons for SYSTEM's inability to make new music, Shavo said: "In my world, man, why it isn't happening is a big question. I think we can get over anything, 'cause it's not like someone's done anything so horrible that we can't get over it. It ain't anything like that. It's just creative differences that are lasting a little too long for me, for my taste.

"It's been so long, I don't even remember why we're not [able to make new music] at this point," he added. "I really would love to have done it. Like I said, if it was up to me, we would have never stopped. We would have been on our probably ninth or tenth record now."

Serj recently told Rolling Stone that the public airing of his dispute with Daron didn't open up any more conversations about SYSTEM's future. "I think it released a lot of tension and negativity," he said. "Everything became more public and open, and that was that. There were no further discussions."

SYSTEM OF A DOWN played a couple live shows in May, including headlining slots at Columbus, Ohio's Sonic Temple festival and Chicago Open Air.

ALICE IN CHAINS Is 'Coming To The End' Of 'Rainier Fog' Cycle, Says JERRY CANTRELL

ALICE IN CHAINS Is 'Coming To The End' Of 'Rainier Fog' Cycle, Says JERRY CANTRELL

Jerry Cantrell says that ALICE IN CHAINS is almost done touring in support of the band's latest album, 2018's "Rainier Fog".

"Album cycles for us generally are about three or four years long," he told Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station in a new interview. "When we're done with a tour, we usually take some time for ourselves. And then you probably won't see us for a while, because we'll take some time off, and then we'll probably start writing some music and recording it. And that usually takes a couple of years. And then we'll put it out and then go rock it for a couple of years.

"We're coming to the end of the ['Rainier Fog'] cycle," he continued. "It's been a great run. We made a really great record that we're proud of, and people have responded to it really positively. We've gone around the globe a few times already; this was basically our second trip around everywhere."

According to Cantrell, the opportunity to play in several countries ALICE IN CHAINS has never performed in before has been the highlight of the latest run of shows.

"You'd be surprised, with every band, with all of the touring that you do throughout your lifetime, that you haven't been everywhere, but you haven't," he explained. "And on this one, we knocked a couple of cherries off. We never played Russia before, and we got to play Saint Petersburg and Moscow. We had to cancel Auckland, New Zealand early on in our tour, because Sean [Kinney, drums] had injured his elbow at the end of an Australian tour. And so we played that for the first time. We'd never played Greece; we played Athens for the first time. That was amazing. We played Tel Aviv in Israel as well. And Estonia — we'd never been to Estonia, and we played that on this run too.

"That's the interesting byproduct of what you do — you get to go around the globe, where if you weren't doing that as a job, you might not do it at all," he said. "So it's always cool to schedule in some places that you haven't been before.

"The thing that's still magical about it to me, and it was when I was a kid and I figured out that I wanted to do that is that the music travels there ahead of you. If you haven't been to some place for 20 or 30 years, your music still has. So showing up and having fans and having people show up, it's just a cool thing, man."

ALICE IN CHAINS' co-headlining tour with KORN kicked off on July 18 in Del Valle, Texas at Austin360 Amphitheatre and is making stops in Dallas, Nashville, Toronto, Denver and more before wrapping September 4 in Mountain View, California at Shoreline Amphitheatre.

ALICE IN CHAINS' first new studio effort in five years, 2018's "Rainier Fog" marked a few other firsts for the band: it was the group's first album for BMG and its first time recording in their hometown of Seattle in more than 20 years.

ALICE COOPER Joined By MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, HALESTORM Members For 'School's Out' Performance In Holmdel (Video)

ALICE COOPER Joined By MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, HALESTORM Members For 'School's Out' Performance In Holmdel (Video)

MOTIONLESS IN WHITE's Chris "Motionless" Cerulli and HALESTORM's Lzzy Hale joined Alice Cooper on stage this past Thursday night (August 15) at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey to perform the Cooper classic "School's Out". Fan-filmed video footage of their appearance can be seen below.

Slotted as the opening act for the ALICE COOPER/HALESTORM North American summer tour, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE has been subjected to an older, perhaps less understanding crowd than what it is normally used to. In an interview with Cameron Buchholtz of the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma radio station Rock 100.5 The KATT, Cerulli shared what it was like for him and his bandmates to step on stage and realize they were playing songs that the ALICE COOPER audience may not exactly be familiar with.

"The most awkward moment for us was the first two or three shows," he said. "We played 'Necessary Evil' and it didn't click in my brain until we were just about to get to the chorus. I'm, like, 'Oh boy, some of these older people are going to know where the 'It's my party' thing actually is from.' A lot of the younger fans don't know, or they think it's Melanie Martinez or something, but a lot of these older fans are going to know and be, like, 'What the hell am I witnessing right now?' So that was the most imploding, 'Oh god, I want to die right now singing that part watching them just be like 'What the fuck is this?' But it's still been really fun."

A couple of months ago, Hale said that she was "so excited" at the prospect of touring with Alice. She said: "We're ticking that off the bucket list. We've done a couple one-off shows with him over the years, and we've gotten to know him and his family, but this is the first time we’re on a full-fledged tour with him."

She went on to talk about what Cooper means to her on a personal level.

"Alice Cooper was the reason that I found out I was not cool when I was a kid," she said. "My parents moved to a new place when I was 11 years old. At this point in time, I loved Alice Cooper. I loved DIO and BLACK SABBATH and DEEP PURPLE, VANILLA FUDGE, that kind of thing. Moving to a new place, don't know anybody there, a couple of neighborhood girls invite me to a sleepover. They're, like, 'Bring some of your favorite CDs. We're going to listen to everybody's favorite music and do each other's makeup,' that whole thing.

"I'm 11 and I end up bringing to the sleepover Alice Cooper's 'Love It To Death' and DIO's 'Holy Driver'. This is '96 so this is TLC, BACKSTREET BOYS, that kind of thing. They're playing 'Waterfalls' and there's a bunch of other things going on. 'Oh, let's listen to Lzzy's CD.' Put in the Alice Cooper CD. We didn't make it past the first chorus. They're, like, 'Let's put another CD back on.'

"I remember going back home and Dad was, like, 'How was the sleepover?'" she continued. "I'm, like, 'It was fun, but they didn't like my music.' Dad's, like, 'That's good.' I'm, like, 'Why is that good? They don't like my music.' He's, like, 'They like all of that music because it's on the radio and people in school think you're supposed to like it. You love this CD — you love Alice Cooper — because you really love it. It's a part of you.'"

Cooper's tour with HALESTORM concluded on August 16 at BB&T Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey.

TOOL Drummer Has No Problem With JUSTIN BIEBER Being A Fan Of His Band

TOOL Drummer Has No Problem With JUSTIN BIEBER Being A Fan Of His Band

TOOL drummer Danny Carey says that he has no problem with Justin Bieber being a fan of his band.

Last month, Bieber took to his Instagram account to post some of the lyrics to TOOL's "10,000 Days" track "The Pot". The pop superstar then asked his followers if they knew which song the lyrics were from. "Don't look it up please I'm curious if any of you know it," he wrote. A short time after Consequence Of Sound tweeted out a link to a story headlined "It's official: Justin Bieber is a Tool fan", TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan responded, writing "#bummer".

The TOOL singer's comment caught the attention of Bieber's wife, model Hailey Baldwin, who fired back at Keenan, writing on Twitter: "He expressed he was a fan of your music. Grew up listening to your music. You must be unhappy with yourself that you want to make people feel small who express their admiration for you. Very childish and hurtful thing to do. I hope u find security within yourself. Sad place to be"

Asked in a recent magazine interview if he was bothered by the fact that Bieber was a TOOL fan, Carey said: "Absolutely not! Anybody who digs your art, you what to share it with. It's like trying to say you're God Almighty to try to judge somebody. We're not in the business of putting up barriers; that's the job of politicians. They're the idiots who want to build walls between people."

TOOL's long-awaited fifth album, "Fear Inoculum", will arrive on August 30 via RCA.

DAVE GROHL Doesn't Rule Out THEM CROOKED VULTURES Return

DAVE GROHL Doesn't Rule Out THEM CROOKED VULTURES Return

Dave Grohl isn't ruling out a return of THEM CROOKED VULTURES. The supergroup he formed more than a decade ago with LED ZEPPELIN's John Paul Jones and Josh Homme (QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) released its first and only album to date in 2009 and toured extensively behind the LP, but hasn't performed live since November 2010.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Grohl stated about THEM CROOKED VULTURES: "Technically we're still a band. We practice once every decade, and we're coming up on another decade, aren't we? I don't have any official news but there's always something cooking."

Regarding his relationship with Homme, Grohl said: "Josh is one of my best friends. We're like brothers. We go out and have waffles together. We ride motorcycles. There is nobody I'd rather play drums with. He's the guy."

As for Jones, Grohl admitted that he still occasionally gets starstruck. "There are times when you've relaxed into a sofa and you're not thinking about his time in LED ZEPPELIN," he said. "Then you start playing and you're immediately reminded that you are a musical speck compared to this man. It's still hard to accept that I got to play in a band with that guy."

In a 2017 interview with Beats 1, Grohl said that he and his THEM CROOKED VULTURES bandmates have talked about a possible reunion. "Every once in a while, you'll be up at night drinking a bottle of wine by yourself, and you'll watch some CROOKED VULTURES live thing on YouTube and go, 'We were so good!,' and then we'll text each other saying, 'Miss you, man!'," he said.

"Them Crooked Vultures" peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard chart, and failed to achieve gold or platinum certification.

"We all want to do another record," Homme said after the LP's release. "I don't know when that would be or if it's even gonna happen. ... I know the next record would be, like, 'sophomore jinx, my ass,' 'cause we know one another now. We were actually just hitting our stride in the studio when we knew we should stop. That was one of the main struggles. 'Dude, we're just getting going.' But we knew we shouldn't take too long. This stuff, if you're not careful, turns to vapor. We gotta live in the now."

Four years after THEM CROOKED VULTURES' last concert, Grohl told NME that he "would love to make another VULTURES record. I think our biggest hurdle is just a logistic one, that the three of us are all pretty busy," he said.

Video: PHILIP ANSELMO's EN MINOR Performs At PSYCHO LAS VEGAS

Video: PHILIP ANSELMO's EN MINOR Performs At PSYCHO LAS VEGAS

Philip Anselmo's EN MINOR played its second show ever Friday night (August 16) at the Psycho Las Vegas festival at the House Of Blues in Las, Nevada. Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.

The Psycho Las Vegas performance took place just two days after EN MINOR made its live debut at One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans, Louisiana. That show served as the release party for EN MINOR's debut seven-inch, which was released on August 2 via Housecore Records.

A project inadvertently in the making since Anselmo's earliest days as a child in the French Quarter, EN MINOR features Stephen Taylor (SUPERJOINT, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS, WOVEN HAND, 16 HORSE POWER), Kevin Bond (SUPERJOINT, CHRIST INVERSION, ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER), Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, DOWN, SUPERJOINT), Calvin and Joiner Dover (THE DOVER BROTHERS), and Steve Bernal (former first cellist in the TEMPLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA). An experimental and eclectic musical endeavor that finds Anselmo exploring a softer, graver vocal style, EN MINOR is an honest and deliberate change of pace delivering brooding tales of pain, regret, and sorrow.

EN MINOR's single serves as the precursor to the band's full-length debut, set for release later this year.

"En Minor" track listing:

01. On The Floor

02. There's A Long Way To Go

"The initial strains — in the most primitive sense — came about when I was given my first guitar at nine-years old," relays Anselmo of the EN MINOR project. "I didn't have the patience to learn other people's music, so I wrote my own. And some of those early parts are still prevalent in the songs we're working with now. Fast forward to 1988 when I bought my first four-track recorder; those old songs took on a new life and newer songs were written. Heavy metal was at the forefront of my performance-based output, but these little four-track songs were always there. I always had an apprehension about allowing them to be heard though, because they were so different; only a small circle of close friends got to hear them."

By 1993, Anselmo moved back to his hometown of New Orleans and his home became an instant magnet for local musicians and artists. "At ungodly hours, these old four-track songs took on an even newer life jamming with these cats," he says. "We learned a few of the songs and wrote several more, and soon we were recording under the moniker BODY & BLOOD. We wrote more songs, all recorded on a newer model four-track. It was fun. We did it for the vibe. And it was pleasing to break away from multi-tracking studios and heavy metal. Metal music consumed most of our time and lives. Those 'B&B' sessions were damned-near therapeutic."

Without a clear plan for the band, the project remained a periodic therapy session. "We kept things simple and just jammed when everyone was home and played our recordings for friends," he says. "Then I eventually moved again, Hurricane Katrina hit, and life sent all of us in different directions."

In 2012, Anselmo met Stephen "Schteve" Taylor and EN MINOR truly took shape. "He and I began experimenting with some vibey stuff, and soon after began recording the sessions," Anselmo says. "This led to the current incarnation of EN MINOR. Together, we re-worked a few of the old four-track songs and wrote several new ones in short order. These sessions are hypnotic and pulling. And we continue to write songs suitable for this project to this day. Ugly and beautiful, EN MINOR, isn't 'party music.' This is 'kill the party music.'"

DAVID ELLEFSON Reunites With Ex-MEGADETH Drummer CHUCK BEHLER On Stage For First Time In More Than 30 Years: Video, Photos

DAVID ELLEFSON Reunites With Ex-MEGADETH Drummer CHUCK BEHLER On Stage For First Time In More Than 30 Years: Video, Photos

Former MEGADETH drummer Chuck Behler, who played with the band from 1987 to 1989 and appeared on the group's classic album "So Far, So Good… So What!", reunited with bassist David Ellefson on stage for the first time in more than 30 years last night (Friday, August 16) at the Token Lounge in Westland, Michigan.

After the concert, the MEGADETH bassist posted several photos of the reunion on Instagram and included the following message: "What an incredible joy to reconnect with drummer Chuck Behler last night and jam some classic SFSGSW songs together. We have such a storied history at The Token Lounge in Detroit (including waiting in our RV outside the venue to go onstage back in 1986 so we could see the 'Peace Sells...' video make its premier on MTVs 'Headbangers Ball'!) and last night was yet another chapter come to life from 'More Life With Deth'. Detroit we can't thank you enough for another memorable night in your amazing rock n roll city!!"

Ellefson's concert at the Token Lounge was part of the bassist's "Basstory - More Life With Deth" tour. The shows feature a question-and-answer session/discussion with co-author and partner Thom Hazaert about Ellefson's memoir, "More Life With Deth", and a full live-band set including songs from the companion album "Sleeping Giants".

Performing with Ellefson is Hazaert, who handles vocals on the newly recorded tracks from "Sleeping Giants", along with "Basstory" vets, DEAD BY WEDNESDAY guitarist Dave Sharpe and drummer Opus Lawrence, and HATCHET guitarist Clayton Cagle.

Featuring cover art by Melody Myers (ALTITUDES AND ATTITUDE, MARC RIZZO, ESCAPE THE FATE), "Sleeping Giants" is a retrospective featuring several new tracks recorded by Ellefson and Hazaert, plus a collection of demos and unreleased material, from F5 and David's other projects, including the unreleased demo "If You Were God", featuring John Bush (ANTHRAX, ARMORED SAINT), plus several unreleased demos featuring HOUSE OF LORDS/GIUFFRIA vocalist David Glen Eisley. The CD version also includes a second bonus disc, featuring a compilation of EMP and Combat artists.

HELLYEAH Guitarist TOM MAXWELL To Undergo Hand Surgery In September

HELLYEAH Guitarist TOM MAXWELL To Undergo Hand Surgery In September

HELLYEAH guitarist Tom Maxwell will undergo hand surgery in September, just before the release of the band's sixth album, "Welcome Home". The group will stay off the road for a couple of months while he rehabilites before kicking off a new tour cycle in November.

Speaking to Rock 100.5 The KATT's Cameron Buchholtz before HELLYEAH's August 14 concert at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Maxwell said (see video below): "I got in a car accident and broke my middle finger in my left hand. I keep getting trigger finger, which — it gets stuck. It's really odd — an odd feeling. So I've got a series of cortisone shots, which the percentage of the cure rate from that is about 70 percent. Unfortunately, I didn't fall into that. So now [ my doctor is] gonna go in and make a little incision and go in here and fix what's not right."

While Tom agrees that the timing of his surgery is not ideal, he says: "Better now than… I can't keep getting these cortisone shots. You're only allowed to have a certain amount. [My doctor] hooked me up last time before this [summer] tour. So I just have to get it done."

"Welcome Home" is due on September 27 via Eleven Seven Music. The disc will mark the group's final effort with drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, who died more than a year ago.

HELLYEAH's May 11 concert in Las Vegas marked the first time the band had taken the stage since Vinnie's passing and the debut of Roy Mayorga as Vinnie's replacement.

HELLYEAH's 18-city headlining summer outing kicked off on July 23 in Atlanta, and will culminate in a special celebration on Saturday, August 17 in Dallas, Texas.

Like the last two records, 2016's "Unden!able" and 2014's "Blood For Blood", "Welcome Home" was recorded at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with producer Kevin Churko.

KISS Frontman PAUL STANLEY On 'End Of The Road' Tour: 'This Is Our Victory Lap'

KISS Frontman PAUL STANLEY On 'End Of The Road' Tour: 'This Is Our Victory Lap'

KISS frontman Paul Stanley spoke to The Sydney Morning Herald about the band's "End Of The Road" farewell tour, which kicked off in January and is expected to last at least through the end of 2020.

"This is our victory lap," he said. "It's us celebrating everything we created with our audience and with our fans. It's that time for people who've been with us over the years to come and celebrate all that we've had together. There's people who've never seen us before and they're leaving the show and thinking, 'Why didn't I come to this earlier?' It's terrific.”

Asked why he thinks KISS has endured this long, while other bands have fallen by the wayside, Stanley said: "People who experience KISS really are affected by it in a way that goes beyond it being a rock band. It's fascinating and amazing to be at these shows nightly and see parents and grandparents who want their offspring to experience what they experienced. It's far beyond typical rock bands, where you hate the idea of your little brother being there, or your neighbor. KISS is an amazing tribe and it's incredibly gratifying."

The rest of 2019 will see KISS playing an additional 20 concerts in North America, nine final shows in Australia and New Zealand, and five more in Japan.

KISS's current lineup consists of Stanley and fellow original member Gene Simmons, alongide later band additions, guitarist Tommy Thayer (since 2002) and drummer Eric Singer (on and off since 1991).

Formed in 1973 by Stanley, Simmons, drummer Peter Criss and lead guitarist Ace Frehley, KISS staged its first "farewell" tour in 2000, the last to feature the group's original lineup.

LYNYRD SKYNYRD Postpones Tour Dates After Guitarist GARY ROSSINGTON Undergoes Heart Surgery

LYNYRD SKYNYRD Postpones Tour Dates After Guitarist GARY ROSSINGTON Undergoes Heart Surgery

Southern rock icons LYNYRD SKYNYRD have postponed this weekend's concerts so that founding member Gary Rossington can recover from recent heart surgery.

The shows, originally scheduled for August 16 in Las Vegas, Nevada and August 17 in Wheatland, California, will now take place on October 18 and October 19, respectively.

The 67-year-old guitarist and last remaining original member of LYNYRD SKYNYRD underwent surgery to fix a leaky heart valve on July 31 and is expected to make a full recovery.

"We all appreciate the well wishes for Gary and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused," LYNYRD SKYNYRD singer Johnny Van Zant said in a statement. "But he can't wait to come back and perform at 100 percent for the fans. We will see you all soon!"

The Las Vegas and Wheatland shows are part of LYNYRD SKYNYRD's "Last Of The Street Survivors Farewell Tour", which is scheduled to run through the fall.

Rossington suffered a heart attack in 2015, prompting several of the band's concerts to be canceled. He also underwent quintuple bypass surgery back in 2003 due to coronary artery disease.

Rossington told the Tampa Bay Times his doctors have urged him for years to quit touring. "I've had heart attacks on stage," he said. "That's why I was calling it a farewell tour. I don't know if I'll be here [much longer]. I don't want to just say, 'Well, we're never going to end,' because I don't want to die and then it end that way — which is a heavy thing to talk about, but I have to."

Rossington survived the 1977 plane crash that killed singer Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines. The band reunited with Ronnie's brother Johnny Van Zant as singer in 1987 and has been on the road ever since.

V.D. is back... the beast has awaken from its ancient slumber ready to obliterate all who stand in its way!".

THE BLEEDING Reveal Details For Morbid Prophecy Album

THE BLEEDING Reveal Details For Morbid Prophecy Album

World War Now Records has announced UK extreme metallers, The Bleeding, return with their follow-up Morbid Prophecy, to 2018's critically-acclaimed debut album, Rites of Absolution.

Morbid Prophecy is set for release October 18th, 2019 and the album cover art has now been unleashed.

Lead guitarist Tasos had this to say about the new album "Morbid Prophecy is an aural descent into hell that encapsulates the saga of the fall of man. The themes of desperation, destruction and death echo through the album in a cacophony of damnation. Man enters the abyss and surrenders to the scale of horror he witnesses. With a ravaged mind he returns to deliver pain and suffering to the unbelievers.

“Musically Morbid Prophecy has set new standards for us in speed, execution and brutality. The songwriting process has been long and relentless as we pushed ourselves to create a blistering album that builds on the ferocity of our previous release 'Rites of Absolution'. We feel that we have accomplished that as the recording has fully materialized our vision."

Tracklisting:

“Demonic Oath”
“Maelstrom”
“Entering The Pandemonium”
“Morbid Prophecy”
“Storm Of The Hellspawn”
“Sadistic Saviour”
“Repentance”
“Hammer Of Penance”

PETER FRAMPTON BAND's 'All Blues' Due In June; DEEP PURPLE's STEVE MORSE Among Guest Musicians

PETER FRAMPTON BAND's 'All Blues' Due In June; DEEP PURPLE's STEVE MORSE Among Guest Musicians

"All Blues", the forthcoming covers album from the PETER FRAMPTON BAND, is set for release on June 7 via UMe. The album is a collection of Frampton's favorite blues classics and was recorded with his longtime touring band, made up of Adam Lester (guitar/vocals), Rob Arthur (keyboards/guitar/vocals) and Dan Wojciechowski (drums).

"I Just Want To Make Love To You" (featuring Kim Wilson) is the first song to be released from the new album, and is available now with digital album pre-order.

"All Blues" was recorded at Frampton's studio in Nashville, Studio Phenix, and was co-produced by Frampton and Chuck Ainlay. The album features additional collaborations with Larry Carlton, Sonny Landreth and Steve Morse.

The vinyl will be available as a double LP and also as a limited edition translucent blue color pressing exclusively at PeterFrampton.com. The double LP will include the bonus track "I Feel So Good", which was written by Big Bill Broonzy and popularized by Muddy Waters.

Of the album, Frampton explains: "I have always loved to play the blues. When we formed HUMBLE PIE, the first material we played together was just that. For the last two summers I had been playing a handful of blues numbers every night on stage with STEVE MILLER BAND. I enjoyed this immensely and it gave me the idea of doing an 'All Blues' album live in the studio with my band. We started the resulting sessions nine days after coming off the road last year. Over a two-week period, we recorded 23 tracks, all live in the studio. The energy of these tracks is completely different from building a track one instrument at a time. With this recording, we pay tribute to all the original artists who invented this incredible music. I hope you can hear and feel our enjoyment. I'm not sure if you can say we had fun playing the blues. But we definitely did."

To support "All Blues", Frampton will host a new six-week series on SiriusXM's Deep Tracks channel. "The Peter Frampton Show" will premiere on Friday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. ET on SiriusXM radios (channel 27) and on the SiriusXM app. Additionally, Frampton will walk SiriusXM listeners through each song from the new album in an exclusive track-by-track on SiriusXM's BB King's Bluesville channel. "Peter Frampton's All Blues Show" will air on Monday, June 3 at 3:00 p.m. ET on SiriusXM radios (channel 74) and on the SiriusXM app.

In conjunction with the album's release, Frampton will kick off "Peter Frampton Finale - The Farewell Tour" presented by SiriusXM — an approximately 50-date run this summer and fall produced by Live Nation. Frampton will retire from regular vigorous touring at the end of this year due to his diagnosis of the autoimmune disease Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM). IBM is a progressive muscle disorder characterized by muscle inflammation, weakness and atrophy. Frampton recently discussed his diagnosis with CBS "This Morning: Saturday".

The tour will feature special guest JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EVENING, as well as Julian Frampton on the West Coast stops, with additional surprise guests to appear on select dates. Tickets are on sale now and VIP packages will also be available at Frampton.com. $1 of every ticket sold, as well as any donations, will benefit The Peter Frampton Myositis Research Fund at Johns Hopkins, a newly established fund by Frampton and Johns Hopkins, where he's being treated.

Frampton remains one of the most lauded artists in rock history. On May 7, the Music Business Association will present him with the Chairman's Award for Sustained Creative Achievement at the Awards & Hall of Fame Dinner that is part of the Association's annual conference — Music Biz 2019 — set to take place May 5-8 in Nashville. Frampton was also recently honored with the Les Paul Innovation Award at the 2019 NAMM Show's 34th annual TEC Awards, and celebrated the 43rd anniversary of his fifth solo album, "Frampton Comes Alive!", one of the top-selling live records of all time (over 17 million copies sold worldwide).

Finland's POST PULSE Release New Single "Generation 217" For Free Download; Lyric Video Posted

Finland's POST PULSE Release New Single "Generation 217" For Free Download; Lyric Video Posted

Helsinki's Post Pulse - signed to Inverse Music Group - have released their new single, "Generation 217". The track is available as a free download from the Post Pulse Bandcamp page, or you can listen to it on all your favorite streaming and download sites.

The new lyric video can be viewed below.

Post Pulse is a unique death metal band hailing from Helsinki, Finland. Consisting of members Antti Karhu (ex-The Man-Eating Tree), Sam Roon (Hung), Tapani Rantanen and Anttoni Välimaa, the multi-cultural lineup produces a sound that marries American and Finnish death metal styles. The result is a rhythm-heavy, aggressive, and impactful body of work that stands out among bands in their genres on both sides of the ocean.

Though the band members come from different walks of life, one major unifying factor between them is their extreme focus on detail within the art. Every note, hit, scream or rumble has been carefully planned and executed. Nothing you hear exists without careful consideration. That idea translates into the idea that recordings should be ‘human’ in the sense that not everything is supposed to sound like a machine has played it. The human flaw is part of the art.
