Hear Title Track Of TOOL's New Album, 'Fear Inoculum'

Hear Title Track Of TOOL's New Album, 'Fear Inoculum'

The title track of TOOL's long-awaited fifth studio album, "Fear Inoculum", can be streamed below. The disc, which will arrive on August 30, will follow up 2006's "10,000 Days".

Continuing its affinity for pushing the boundaries of physical packaging, the Grammy Award-winning outfit has created a deluxe, limited-edition CD version of "Fear Inoculum". The collectible offering, which was conceived by and directed by Adam Jones, features a four-inch HD rechargeable screen with exclusive video footage, charging cable, two-watt speaker, a 36-page booklet and a digital download card. Pre-orders for both the special package and digital downloads are available now. A vinyl release will be announced soon.

The 85-minute collection was produced by TOOL, with Joe Barresi engineering and mixing the release. Barresi also worked with the band on "10,000 Days".

"A lot of weight lifted off my chest. The four of us are a lot of fucking work," explained singer Maynard James Keenan on "The Joe Rogan Experience" late last month, as he revealed the album title. "Everything is a fucking committee meeting, and it always gets shut down."

TOOL guitarist Adam Jones revealed several tantalizing bits of information about "Fear Inoculum" in a new interview with Guitar World, including the number of tracks on the record, the running time and the strange themes behind the LP.

The album will sport seven tracks but will run an astounding 80 minutes, with virtually none of the songs adhering to the standard format for a radio single. As for the concept of the disc, Jones said it came to revolve around the number seven.

Jones explained: "I took a picture pointing to the number seven while we were recording, and a lot of the riffs Justin [Chancellor, bassist] and I brought in were in seven. You don't really go, 'I'm going to write a riff in seven!'" He added, "Without being too descriptive about the concept, the main thing is that the seven beat just kept coming up, and riffs in seven kept coming up. It was really weird!"

Jones continued: "Then Maynard told me about a whole concept he had about the number seven. We were all, like, 'Oh my God! This is too weird!' Then Alex Grey [TOOL album artist] basically said the same thing and he has a concept that will reveal itself through video."

TOOL has been playing two songs, reportedly titled "Descending" and "Invincible", during its recent live shows. Both tracks are expected to show up on "Fear Inoculum".

SLIPKNOT's COREY TAYLOR Says Music Streaming Is 'Pricing Artists Out Of Careers'

SLIPKNOT's COREY TAYLOR Says Music Streaming Is 'Pricing Artists Out Of Careers'

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor has blasted Spotify for the the paltry payments the music streaming service pays out to music rightsholders.

This past January, the Copyright Royalty Board ruled the royalties songwriters receive from on-demand subscription streaming would jump 44 percent over the next five years. Spotify, Google, Pandora and Amazon — four of the major U.S. streaming services — later appealed the ruling, saying that it "harms music licensees and copyright owners."

After Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen's E STREET BAND took to his Twitter on Saturday to complain about the fact that artists "simply don't get paid for [their] work" while Spotify is "worth billions," Corey responded: "No one points this out. And while Congress has passed legislation to right this wrong, almost all the streaming services are APPEALING, which means we STILL don't get paid for our work. But please people, by all means- stream away..."

Taylor went on to say that bands like SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR "HAVE to tour. It's the only way we can make a living. Merch helps, but the merch companies make the lion's share. Streaming is pricing artists- old AND new- out of careers."

Corey also clarified that he did not have a problem with streaming itself. "I don't care HOW people get the music," he said. "I care how the COMPANIES who provide it compensate the fuckin' people who made it in the first place."

According to Taylor, he still has enjoys performing live, but he would like to have more time to spend with his family. "We're constantly on the road… I have kids. I have a life," he said. "When am I supposed to get time for THEM?"

As for how he personally listens to music, Taylor said: "I buy albums, physically and on iTunes. I WILL say this: Apple Music is the ONLY streaming service that is NOT appealing the legislation. Thank you @AppleMusic"

When one fan implied that record contracts are ultimately to blame for how the artists get paid by streaming services like Spotify, Taylor replied: "All due respect, this isn't about contracts right now because they don't reflect the service righteously. And even if the streaming service pays the label, WE still don't get paid. This is about PUBLISHING. They're offering OUR work and not paying for it…. Because as long as the RECORD LABELS get THEIR money, they don't CARE if the ARTIST gets paid at ALL. Or who plays their music- unless it's a critic on @youtube THEN THEY'RE UP IN ARMS"

After another fan asked if there is one service that is better than others where fans can purchase music digitally, Taylor said: "Any service where you can buy the album, or songs at a time. Even buying a song singly makes us more than simply streaming it. The irony here is, if the streaming services adhered to the payment scale that Radio has to abide by, we'd all be paid fairly."

Taylor also addressed one fan's suggestion that bands like SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR "aren't gonna make royalties on Spotify" because they "play one of the least popular (nowadays) genres." The singer wrote: "All due respect, I simply do not believe the ‘rock and metal isn't popular' idea. Our shows are sold out, our numbers are just as high as anyone else's and we've been #1 every time. This isn't about popularity, because it happens in EVERY GENRE."

After another fan asked why he doesn't pull SLIPKNOT's music off the streaming services if he isn't being properly compensated, Taylor responded: "Because if you don't own your masters, you can do fuck all to stop what the labels do."

Back in 2015, Taylor said that record labels were continuing to lose the digital music battle or piracy war because they couldn't "catch up with the technology." He said during an appearance on the "Eddie Trunk Podcast": "On one hand, you've got people who are streaming, but then they use that to decide whether or not they wanna buy the album, as opposed to illegal downloading. But then there's the other side of it where people are kind of using it as, basically, satellite radio, where it's, like, 'I'm just gonna listen to this.' But people still pay a subscription for it. So, in one way or another, the economy is still working. It's just that… We can't catch up with the technology; that's the problem. There's so many innovations that the powers that be can't figure out… they can't get ahead of it."

SKILLET Frontman Says MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. Was A 'Prophet'

SKILLET Frontman Says MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. Was A 'Prophet'

In a recent interview with Upvenue, SKILLET frontman John Cooper revealed that he is a "really big fan" of iconic civil rights activisit Martin Luther King Jr. "And the reason I love Martin Luther King Jr. — well, there's lots of reasons," he said (see video below). "I think the reason that, to me, he's above a lot of other people is that… I put myself back into that time period, imagining that I was African American, which I'm obviously not. I wonder if I would have had the grace to not be violent back. I think that non-violent protest, when you are being so oppressed, is beautiful. I think he was a prophet — I think he was a prophet to his people. So I think that's what I admire the most about him."

SKILLET's tenth full-length album, "Victorious", was released on August 2 via Atlantic.

In support of "Victorious", SKILLET will headline a tour this August joined by SEVENDUST with special guests POP EVIL and DEVOUR THE DAY.

SKILLET has sold more than 12 million albums. The band's past four releases — from 2006's "Comatose" to 2016's "Unleashed" — have been certified at least gold by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA). SKILLET's 2009 album "Awake" has gone double platinum.

THE DARKNESS Releases Music Video For New Single 'Rock And Roll Deserves To Die'

THE DARKNESS Releases Music Video For New Single 'Rock And Roll Deserves To Die'

British rockers THE DARKNESS have released their brand new single, "Rock And Roll Deserves To Die", accompanied by a brilliantly entertaining video. It's the first taste of the band's jaw-droppingly ambitious new album "Easter Is Cancelled", out on October 4 through Cooking Vinyl.

From chiming, acoustic beginnings, "Rock And Roll Deserves To Die" explodes into an epic five-minute masterpiece. It features some of Justin Hawkins's finest lyrics to date alongside monumental riffs, thunderous bass and almighty drums, while also featuring some beautifully delicate touches from the band.

It is quite simply the band's most exciting and diverse song to date and finds THE DARKNESS hailing the death of the old and opening a door into a brave new world never seen from the band before. As bass player Frankie Poullain comments: "A lot of bands have relinquished their duty. Rock and roll is so uniform now. Everybody dresses the same, looks the same, sounds the same. It's pathetic. It deserves to die. Let's kill the cliché. Let's break the crucifix. That's partly what the album is about."

In fact, "Rock And Roll Deserves To Die" marks a sensational new era, opening "Easter Is Cancelled", the first-ever concept album from THE DARKNESS.

Justin explains: "At the end of days, humankind must consider the essential truths of existence. THE DARKNESS, your vanguard in life's journey, have stared into the abyss. The observations we bring from the edge are set out in a new record album, titled 'Easter is Cancelled'.

"This far-reaching communiqué examines man's brutality to man, the dichotomies that we live within and the alternate realities that exist alongside our blinkered comprehension of the Universe. The song cycle defines human existence through a parable — the slow lingering death and eventual glorious re-birth of rock and roll.

"In the search for perfect sonic equivalents of core truths, every musical instrument of the world has been explored and exploited to its fullest extent. Endless days in studios, museums, spiritual retreats and places of learning turned into endless months, as deeper and deeper layers of truth were uncovered, translated and set for eternity in sound.

"The result is a literally Biblical record, and those who have said that rock and roll is the Devil's music should listen and understand that it is, in truth, the voice of God.

"This is the grandest statement any band has ever made, and the endeavour has taken its toll. In achieving such a mighty goal, a line is drawn and this will be the last traditional music album from THE DARKNESS — having confronted the eternal and ultimate, we must now move on to higher art forms. The future is an open door. Who's in here?"

The ten-track album examines the role of the musician in the barbarous culture of the world today, and their almost divine responsibility to challenge the establishment — something that most rock and roll artists seem to have given up on in favour of easy celebrity. And yet at the heart of this tale is love, loss and heartbreak, where redemption is ultimately found in the brotherhood of band friendship and the power of the guitar, as brought full circle in the glorious album closer "We Are The Guitar Men".

"Easter Is Cancelled" track listing:

01. Rock And Roll Deserves To Die

02. How Can I Lose Your Love

03. Live 'Til I Die

04. Heart Explodes

05. Deck Chair

06. Easter Is Cancelled

07. Heavy Metal Lover

08. In Another Life

09. Choke On It

10. We Are The Guitar Men

"Easter Is Cancelled" will be released digitally and in full technicolour physical glory as a standard CD, digipak CD with bonus tracks, gatefold LP, limited-edition color vinyl gatefold LP and cassette. The album is available to pre-order now from the band's official store, with special signed copies and exclusive album bundle offers.

THE DARKNESS will be spreading its "Easter Is Cancelled" message across the land with a full U.K. and Ireland headline tour this winter and will play 18 dates starting in November 2019. These shows promise to be incredibly special, reflecting the grand scope and vision of the album, alongside the finest hits from the band's spectacular canon.

Sascha Paeth's MASTERS OF CEREMONY Release "Sick" Lyric Video

Sascha Paeth's MASTERS OF CEREMONY Release "Sick" Lyric Video

Renowned German producer, guitarist, and songwriter Sascha Paeth and his new band, Masters Of Ceremony, will release their debut album, Signs Of Wings, on September 13 on CD/LP/Digital via Frontiers Music Srl. Today, fans can get another look at Sascha Paeth's Masters Of Ceremony with the release of a lyric video for the song, "Sick". Watch below.

The album will be available for pre-order on CD, vinyl, limited edition color vinyl, and digital. Pre-order here.

A limited edition, 180g, gatefold, white vinyl edition of "Signs Of Wings" will be available exclusively on the Frontiers EU and US stores. This pressing is strictly limited to 300 copies worldwide. Fans can get their copy here while supplies last.

Sascha says, “Finally, I am putting my energy into a metal project of my own. It is the sum of my experiences over the years and a bit of a revival of what I was doing in the past.”

Signs Of Wings is much more than a solo album. Sascha put together a great group of musicians including Felix Bohnke (Avantasia) on drums, André Neygenfind (Avantasia) on bass, Corvin Bahn on keyboards, and the awesome American singer Adrienne Cowan (Seven Spires). Offering a wide range of styles within the metal spectrum, from aggressive and straight foward metal songs, to more melodic and symphonic tracks, this record has a bit of everything and is certainly going to strike fans of Sascha's as one of the most inventive, complete, and exciting releases in the metal genre in 2019.

As a 15 year old teenager, you might have found Paeth playing a more bluesy style, or Van Halen-meets-Accept style hard rock, but it wasn’t long before Paeth joined Heaven’s Gate, where the music was harder and heavier. This experience was where he learned to enjoy inspiration from new styles and from new collaborations. It was the start of a long journey through the music business, a journey that is far from over...

To label Sascha Paeth a multi-talented producer, engineer, musician, and songwriter might not quite cover his full set of skills and achievements. The Wolfsburg-born German multi-musician has produced countless bands including Avantasia, Kamelot, Rhapsody, Epica, and more. Having worked on, produced, and engineered over 200 albums since 1988, it’s fair to say he has a reputation for being at the forefront of shaping the European melodic power metal sound.

SIFTING Shred Downtown Los Angeles Rooftops In "Stop Calling Me Liberty" Video

SIFTING Shred Downtown Los Angeles Rooftops In "Stop Calling Me Liberty" Video

Progressive metal shred quartet Sifting have revealed a new music video and single for the song "Stop Calling Me Liberty". The video was directed by Zach Perez at Astral Media.

"'Stop Calling Me Liberty' is a song we wrote about The Statue of Liberty," states Sifting frontman Eduardo Osuna Gil. "Every day our country is pushed further apart, divided by the partisan politics and nothing gets done for the people. I often think about the Statue of Liberty and how she is a magnificent symbol of liberty and unification, watching over our country from Liberty Island. If she could speak to us today, what would she say? I don't really think she would be pleased. I think she'd be pretty damn pissed off."

Sifting will release The Infinite Loop on September 27th. The album is a masterpiece of progressive metal featuring 70 minutes of mind-blowing Jedi-like musicianship. It was produced by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Poison The Well), mixed by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, The Contortionist), and features a special guest performance by Derek Sherinian (Sons Of Apollo, Dream Theater).

Pre-order the album here.

The Infinite Loop tracklisting:

"Agony"
"A Critical Affair"
"Enough"
"Stop Calling Me Liberty"
"The Fifth Element"
"What If (Dichotomy)"
"To Who I Am"
"Ghost Of A Lie" (feat. Derek Sherinian)
"Emotionless Shells"

CRADLE OF FILTH Keyboardist / Vocalist LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT Releases "See The Light" Lyric Video

CRADLE OF FILTH Keyboardist / Vocalist LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT Releases "See The Light" Lyric Video

Cradle Of Filth keyboardist and vocalist Lindsay Schoolcraft, has now released a lyric video for her song "See The Light". The track is from her upcoming album Martyr which will be released on October 7th and features a guest appearance from Xenoyr of  Ne Obliviscaris. The album was co-written with former Evanescence drummer Rocky Gray.

Lindsay commented, "I knew I wanted to have a duet on this album somewhere and the more I completed composing 'See The Light' with Rocky Gray, the more I knew Xenoyr needed to appear on it. Sometimes, if you want to say something loudly it has to be screamed harshly, and the more I reflected on the lyrics, the more I heard many of our shared conversations. This song is open to interpretation, but I wrote it back in 2016 when it was prevalent that greed and prejudice were more valued globally over compassion and doing the right thing. Those difficult times for the world inspired this song greatly.”

SOLEIL MOON Streaming New Song "Nothing Matters"

SOLEIL MOON Streaming New Song "Nothing Matters"

Frontiers Music Srl recently announced the release of Soleil Moon's third album, Warrior, out on August 9th. Pre-order the album here, and listen to the song "Nothing Matters" below.

Following the great critical acclaim that Soleil Moon gathered with the release of their first two albums. Worlds Apart (1999) and On the Way To Everything (2011), the band reconvened to record a new album in 2018. Born as a collaboration between singer Larry King (Michael Thompson Band) and keyboardist John Blasucci (Dennis DeYoung), Soleil Moon has become a personal outlet for writer and producer Larry King to "spread my wings and share a piece of my life with everyone. In order to stay in this business you have to be a Warrior. Frontiers has given me the chance to express myself my way. I am very grateful."

"The entire premise of this album is variety,” continues King. "I have been fortunate to be allowed to put great songs and personal stories on this record. No handcuffs...a peek into my life as well as the other writers. Personal stories make for more meaningful songs that others hopefully can relate to. Each song takes a journey that has its own vignette of space and time creating a little movie in your mind. I want people to listen to and see the story. John Blasucci, Khari Parker, Alan Berliant, Chris Siebold, Lee Sklar, Vinnie Colaiuta, Joie Scott, Opal Staples, Mike Harvey, Kelly Keagy (of Night Ranger), Jeff Morrow, Cheryl Wilson, Craig Bauer, Jeff Breakey, and of course, Michael Thompson have been helping me with my creations for a long time. I owe my career and life's work to this team. They have pushed and pulled me to be better every step of the way. I can never express the amount of gratitude that I have for them."

As a special treat, the album includes the song “72 Camaro”, which was released as a Michael Thompson Band single in anticipation of that band's performance at the Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan in 2018. Explains King, "Michael and I work together often on various projects and when we decided to do the MTB record, we both started writing. '72 Camaro' was a song about my first car and was very personal to me. It was my story. By the time the MTB record "Love And Beyond" was finished, we had mutually decided that because this was my story, it would be better suited for the Soleil Moon record."

Soleil Moon debuted in 1999 with the independently released album Worlds Apart, which also included the song “I’d Die For You,” later covered by Michael Kiske’s Place Vendome on their second album, Streets Of Fire. The album did quite well on Adult Contemporary radio with "Willingly," "Never Say Goodbye," and the title track, all of which ranked inside the Top 10 on U.S. national radio charts for the format. The follow up, On The Way To Everything came about a few years after and was acclaimed as a high quality AOR release.

Larry is a mind-bogglingly multi-talented singer, songwriter, player, producer, and band leader who has been a full-time musician, singer and songwriter since he was 12 years old. In 1997, Larry conceptualized and formed 'The Larry King Orchestra'. He hand-picked eleven top notch musicians and vocalists to form what became one of Chicago's premiere 22 piece Society Bands. The musicians chosen became such a dynamic team in this forum that they went on to feature in the recording and performance of music by Soleil Moon, Larry King's original project developed with John Blasucci, currently the keyboard player for Dennis DeYoung (ex-Styx).

MY DYING BRIDE Completes Work On New Album

MY DYING BRIDE Completes Work On New Album

U.K. doom metal veterans MY DYING BRIDE have completed work on their new album. Vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe writes in a Facebook post: "It has taken quite some time to put together but it is now finished and is with Nuclear Blast as I write this. There is no release date as yet, but rest assured, we will let you know once we find out.

"This album is a luxurious journey into a realm only MY DYING BRIDE know how to create. It has the most lavish production of any of our past offerings and the sound is utterly stunning; aggressive, beautiful and layered with harmonic melancholy like never before. There is beauty here with slender moments of delicate hope enriched with violins and cello and the stunning voice of special guest Lindy-Fay Hella from WARDRUNA. And there is utter madness and anger with visceral death metal vocals lending a fearful edge to this dramatic opus. You will not be disappointed!!"

Last December, MY DYING BRIDE parted ways with drummer Shaun Steels "due to unresolvable drumming issues." He has been replaced by Jeff Singer (KILL2THIS, PARADISE LOST), who will appear on MY DYING BRIDE's new disc.

Last September, Stainthorpe revealed that his daughter's cancer diagnosis led to the cancelation of the band's four festival appearances in late 2017. She has since beaten what Aaron has called "one of the cruellest of God's bitter and loveless creations."

This past May. Peaceville Records celebrated the 25th anniversary of MY DYING BRIDE with a deluxe 92-page 12-inch hardback book on the rise of the U.K. doom metal legends. "A Harvest Of Dread" contains five discs of rarities, early works, newly unearthed and never-before-heard pre-production demos, band track favorites, and live audio.

It is complete! The new album from My Dying Bride! It has taken quite some time to put together but it is now finished...Posted by My Dying Bride on Saturday, August 3, 2019

TESLA Guitarist FRANK HANNON Issues New Solo Song "Cowboy Blues"

"Some of you may know about my love for horses,' begins Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon. "Well, I have just released a fun new song titled 'Cowboy Blues' that is written about the very challenging sport of 'Cutting', and it is inspired by my good friend NCHA hall of fame trainer Bill Riddle."

"Mr. Bill and I worked on it together at a motel in Grey Bull Wyoming after one of his cutting clinics, and he's been trying to teach me to stop a horse now for years! Lol. The song is dedicated to all the horse trainers, non-pros, and amateur cutters who work so hard, live for, and chase the best two and a half minutes of their life!"

"Cowboy Blues" is available for download on Amazon, Spotify and iTunes.

KONKHRA Release "Babylon", First Single From New Album Alpha And The Omega

KONKHRA Release "Babylon", First Single From New Album Alpha And The Omega

After a ten year absence, Denmark's Konkhra returns with a brand new album, Alpha And The Omega, due on October 18th via Hammerheart Records. The first single, a song called "Babylon", can be heard now:

There has always been a hidden hand that moves between the known and the unknown. The pertinent minds have felt this for ages: The question of what lies between the veils of existence. From monks choir atop mountains of solitude to the modern man's desire to move against the stream. What lies beyond power, life, spirit and the profane world? Whose hands wove the dna of all life?

Konkhra’s lyrical themes to their new album: Alpha And The Omega. The music speaks for itself. Extreme but balanced within the boundaries of their patented groove and grinding metal roots. Death from the perspective of the living. Power from the vantage point of the poor. Love in the hearts of the lonely and lost. And hope, when all hope is gone forever.

The artwork, pictured below, is done by Michal “Xaay” Loranc (Pestilence, Nile).

Konkhra's current lineup consists of:

Anders Lundemark - vocals / guitar
Hakim - guitar
Martin Kristensen - bass / backing vocals
Johnny Nielsen - drums

NERGAL Says BEHEMOTH's Next Album Will Arrive In 2021

NERGAL Says BEHEMOTH's Next Album Will Arrive In 2021

Following BEHEMOTH's performance in San Bernardino, California on July 27, guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski spoke with RadioactiveMike Z, host of the Riverside, California radio station 96.7 KCAL-FM program "Wired In The Empire". The full conversation can be streamed below. A few excerpts follow (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On the group's participation in SLIPKNOT's current "Knotfest Roadshow" tour, which also includes GOJIRA and VOLBEAT:

Nergal: "It's pretty much a European bill, which is cool. I really like the bill, because it's very diverse — the fact that we come from all sides of the world, really. Even [for] Europe, it's like, Denmark, Poland and France. It's spread out, so it makes it even more interesting and exciting, I believe. It's cool... One of the coolest things, I remember, when we were talking budgets, the first things we heard from [the] SLIPKNOT camp was, 'Hey, we're going to be generous when it comes to [your] offer, but we want every band to look amazing. We want every band to bring something to the table.' I really respect that kind of attitude... It feels good to have a band that actually cares. They care about you. They want you to look good. It's not a competition. It's a family vibe. It's supposed to be a family vibe — four different, very diverse bands on the same bill. Amazing."

On his first impressions of SLIPKNOT:

Nergal: "I think I just saw some videos. I wasn't hooked right away. I remember there was hype for SLIPKNOT right after the first album. I heard 'Iowa' and I was [sold] — I was like, 'Okay. Wow.' I did get back to the first record, but I'm, like, 'Nah. It's not [for] me,' but ever since 'Iowa', I've [heard] every album and I pretty much have favorite songs on every record — 'Psychosocial', the title song of 'All Hope Is Gone'. The title song is one of my favorite SLIPKNOT songs ever. [It's] kind of [a] pity that they are not playing this one [on the 'Roadshow' tour]. 'Before I Forget', 'Devil In I'. There's, like, three singles now off the new record. The second is my favorite, and they are playing that song. I'm not really the best when it comes to titles, but they are playing this one and it's amazing. The album comes out [soon], and I'm really, really psyched to hear the whole of it... Let me put it that way — every time I get to meet the mixing guy or production guy for the next BEHEMOTH album, I bring either 'Iowa' or [SLAYER's] 'God Hates Us All'. These two are my most referred albums when it comes to BEHEMOTH productions on so many levels. I'm not saying that we want to copy that, [but] there's a vibe — there's something absolutely untamed on both records. It's awesome."

On BEHEMOTH's future:

Nergal: "I'm inspired, and I'm going to surprise you — we're already making new music. It's never been that way [before]. For some reason, I'm just... first of all, there's some unreleased music from [the 'I Loved You At Your Darkest'] session. I'm proud of the songs; we just need to find the right place, the right time, the right occasion to [release them]. It's happening eventually. We start jamming and demoing later this year, and in the meantime, I'm putting the final touches to the second ME AND THAT MAN album as well. There's work on several levels simultaneously. I'm very creative and very productive lately. ME AND THAT MAN is going to be [released during] the first half of 2020, and BEHEMOTH is going to be 2021, one hundred percent. 'I Loved You At Your Darkest' is still a very fresh record, but when I get back to that, I'm, like, [sighs]. You need time to process that if you really want to match that quality, and eventually overcome that and deliver quality that is different to that so you're not really copying yourself. You're delivering something that is fresh, and every time, it's a higher and higher challenge. I think that's the main reason why I'm around, because if it stopped being a challenge and we can just, 'Oh, let's just cash [in].' I'm not just trying to be nice saying that, but it really feels good [now]. For all those kids today when we played, there's a chunk of the audience that is probably familiar with what we do, but I bet that, like, two-thirds maybe never heard of us. That is the most exciting moments in our career. You have 11 records and countless tours and almost [a] 30-year career going, and there's still people who don't know you. That's the point — to convert these kids, to push and don't get too spoiled. It's good to be [a] newcomer. It's good to be first on the bill. It's a good experience."

On his health, after famously battling leukemia in the years leading up to "The Satanist":

Nergal: "I'm fully recovered. I'm feeling super healthy. Very strong... I was pretty lucky, but then at the same time, I know I was very determined as well. I'm a life-lover. I'm a very vital person, so I think it had something to do with my conquering the disease. I was, like, 'Hey, I'm not done yet. I really want to deliver more than this.'"

BEHEMOTH's eleventh studio album, "I Loved You At Your Darkest", was released in October via Metal Blade Records in North America and Nuclear Blast in Europe.

Former LOSTPROPHETS Singer IAN WATKINS Hid Phone Inside His Anus In Prison

Former LOSTPROPHETS Singer IAN WATKINS Hid Phone Inside His Anus In Prison

Former LOSTPROPHETS frontman Ian Watkins allegedly hid a mobile phone inside his anus while serving time at a British maximum security prison.

The singer is on trial at Leeds Crown Court for possessing a mobile phone in his cell at HMP Wakefield in Wakefield, West Yorkshire between March 4, 2018 and March 10, 2018.

According to Independent, Leeds Crown Court was told that the 42-year-old used the phone to contact a woman he previously had a relationship with.

Watkins was removed from his cell after officers received intelligence he was illegally storing a phone.

An intial strip search recovered nothing. However, Watkins then asked a prison officer if he would be allowed to see his mother, who was due to visit him that same day, if he gave up the phone.

He then reached into his underwear and produced a small three-inch long white GTSTAR model mobile phone — branded the smallest phone in the world.

Prosecutor Stephen Wood said: "Between March 4 and March 10 2018 the defendant was in possession of a mobile phone while inside HMP Wakefield. He [Watkins] is the former frontman of well-known rock group LOSTPROPHETS.

"On March 10, a prison officer at HMP Wakefield went to the defendant's cell, the intention was to remove the defendant to a sterile cell so he could be searched. The prison had received information the defendant was in possession of a phone. The defendant was searched and nothing was found.

"During the search, the defendant was asked if he had a mobile phone about him and he replied he did not. After the search, the defendant said his mother was travelling to visit him and he asked if he would still be allowed to see her. When the prison officer went back... he asked if he could still have the visit if he handed over the telephone. The officer asked if he had a phone and he [Watkins] replied that he did. The defendant reached in to his underwear and towards his anus. After about ten seconds, the defendant then produced a small white telephone. It must have been inserted into the defendant's anus."

Watkins denied one charge of possession of a mobile phone in a prison and told police he was being forced to conceal the device by fellow inmates. According to Wood, Watkins said he had been threatened with being slashed. Watkins claimed these men wanted him to call his "groupies," then extort money from his groupies. He added that he was "really fucking scared."

In 2013, Watkins was convicted of 13 child sex offenses. These crimes only came to light following a drug investigation.

Six people came forward to make allegations against Watkins before he was finally arrested and jailed for 35 years, the report from the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) found. He must serve at least 29 years in prison.

Watkins's disgusted LOSTPROPHETS bandmates called it quits in 2013, just before the frontman pleaded guilty to his crimes. They subsequently formed a new group, named NO DEVOTION.

Listen To New SLIPKNOT Song 'Birth Of The Cruel'

Listen To New SLIPKNOT Song 'Birth Of The Cruel'

SLIPKNOT has shared "Birth Of The Cruel", the third new song to be released off the band's widely anticipated sixth LP, "We Are Not Your Kind", which will arrive August 9 on Roadrunner Records.

"We Are Not Your Kind" was once again recorded at a Los Angeles studio with producer Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed SLIPKNOT's 2004 album "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" and helmed 2014's ".5: The Gray Chapter".

Singer Corey Taylor recently that "We Are Not Your Kind" features the "darkest" lyrics he has written "in a long time." He told iHeartRadio Canada about the LP: "It's heavy, it's experimental, it's melodic as hell. Lyrically, it's the darkest that I've gone in a long time. I went through a really dark period, and it fueled all of my lyrics for this album, all of my emotions for this album. The shirking the chains of that depression, negativity, trying to get rid of that. And the vibe is so dark. People aren't gonna… they're not gonna know what to expect with it. It's pretty crazy."

Earlier this year, Taylor told the Des Moines Register that some of "We Are Not Your Kind" was written while he was forced to "figure out who I was" following his recent divorce, without relapsing into substance abuse.

"All I was doing was giving and I found myself absolutely, completely tapped," he said. "You could see it in my skin. You could see it in my eyes. That's basically the journey I'm going to take people on this album … show them what happens to depression when you have no chemicals to fall back on."

In a separate interview with BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show With Daniel P. Carter", Taylor said that SLIPKNOT's new album is "probably the furthest we've pushed the boundaries of creativity and experimentation, while also not losing our identity.

"There are bands out there who, they go for all of that experimentation and they forget who they are — they forget that there's an audience that wants to hear a certain type... It doesn't have to be the exact thing, but there has to be a certain emotion that they are looking for, that they wanna hear... There has to be that touchstone. You can go as far out as you want, but you have to be able to pull them back to that feeling that made them fans in the first place. And I really think we did that with this album. We not only went places that we've hinted at, musically, over the years, but never really went full-bore, but we're also doing heavier things than we've ever done."

"We Are Not Your Kind" track listing:

01. Insert Coin

02. Unsainted

03. Birth Of The Cruel

04. Death Because Of Death

05. Nero Forte

06. Critical Darling

08. Red Flag

09. What's Next

10. Spiders

SVEN GALI - Fan-Filmed Live Video From Rock The Roses 2019 Posted

SVEN GALI - Fan-Filmed Live Video From Rock The Roses 2019 Posted

Formed in 1987 in Hamilton and Niagara Falls, Ontario, Sven Gali brought the '80s and '90s hard rock / metal wave home to Canada. They delivered their high-energy live show from St. Johns to Victoria, and across the US and Europe for the next nine years. Back in March 2018 the band announced they had reunited; the 2018 lineup includes all three remaining original members: Dave Wanless (vocals), Andy Frank (guitar), Shawn Minden (bass) plus new drummer Dan Fila (Varga) and guitarist Sean Williamson.

Fila has posted video (courtesy of Shawntal Cubitt) of the band performing "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow" from their debut album at Rock The Roses 2019 in Welland, Ontario. Check it out below.

Sven Gali released an official lyric video for their brand new single, "Kill The Lies", in 2018. The single entered the Top 10 on the CBC Music's Rock Charts. Check it out below.

Sven Gali built a name fast with their live shows; drawing growing crowds on the Canadian and US circuit while building their songwriting chops and a wild reputation. David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin) signed the band to BMG Music Canada in 1991 and produced the self-titled debut, released in 1992.

The album included singles and videos for "Under The Influence", "Tie Dyed Skies", "In My Garden", and the ballad, "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" (#6 CanCon song of 1993). It included a cover of Teenage Head’s "Disgusteen" featuring guest vocals by Frankie Venom. The video for "Under The Influence" won the MuchMusic Best Metal Video award in 1993. The band was nominated for Hard Rock Album of the Year and Most Promising Band at the Junos. Sven Gali went gold in Canada.

Sven Gali toured extensively throughout Canada and the USA, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and the UK, headlining and on the bill with acts including: April Wine, Foreigner, Candlebox, Pearl Jam and Def Leppard.

Their follow up album, Inwire (1995), recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, was produced by Kelly Grey (Candlebox, Brother Kane, Dokken) and featured guest musicians Christopher Thorn of Blind Melon, and Candlebox's Kevin Martin and Scott Mercado.

The band toured for the next year before disbanding in 1996.

THE QUIREBOYS Release Lyric Video For New Single 'Original Black Eyed Son'

THE QUIREBOYS Release Lyric Video For New Single 'Original Black Eyed Son'

U.K. rockers THE QUIREBOYS will release their new album, "Amazing Disgrace", on April 5 via Off Yer Rocka. The official lyric video for the disc's latest single, "Original Black Eyed Son", can be seen below.

On their essential new album, THE QUIREBOYS amazed themselves. "The new music has surpassed all of my expectations," admitted longtime guitarist Guy Griffin. "It's the most diverse album we've ever done," added fellow six-stringer Paul Guerin. And for a band celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2019, that's saying something.

"Amazing Disgrace" is the sixth QUIREBOYS album in seven years but quality over quantity remains the mantra. Twelve typically frank and familiarly evocative rock and roll classics soundtrack a band at the peak of its creative powers.

And the decision to lay down "Amazing Grace" at the world-famous Rockfield Studios turned out to be an inspired decision as the weight of history created a unique pressure on a band determined to evolve.

"Getting everyone together at one of the most iconic studios in the world has definitely given the new music a different vibe," said Griffin. "Everyone was a lot more up for it because each band member felt so involved in the process.

"I was actually more apprehensive than usual going in to the studio. I didn't know how things would turn out but the music we came out with was better than anyone could have expected.

"We're at the point in our career where we don't really give a shit what anyone else thinks! I don't mean that in a negative way but we write songs that we can play with freedom within a live show.

"As Paul says, 'Amazing Disgrace' is one of our most diverse records yet. I don't think there's anything we can't do or that we wouldn't try. The last few records have proved that."

Guerin conceded that treading in the revered footsteps of Freddie Mercury, Brian May et al across the hallowed Rockfield turf was an unforgettable experience in its own right. Emerging from the studio with an album prepped to take on all-comers in 2019 was the icing on the cake.

"You come out of the front door and on the right handside you can see up to the window of the room where Freddie Mercury wrote 'Bohemian Rhapsody'," added Guerin. "Look up again and you can see the weather vane referenced in the song.

"If you're of a certain vintage, it's just mind-blowing. I was like a kid in a sweetshop. And if you can't draw inspiration from recording in that environment, then you're probably in the wrong job!"

Guerin is clearly in the right job. And the job satisfaction will surely spike again when THE QUIREBOYS headline a special one-off show celebrating 35 years as self-styled rock and roll rebels.

The band returns to London's O2 Kentish Forum on September 14 and the two-hour 35th-anniversary special will feature iconic album "A Bit Of What You Fancy" played in its entirety for the first time ever. Fans will be treated to the best of "Amazing Grace" and choice cuts from a bulging back catalog of hits and masterpieces.

"It's always time for a party where THE QUIREBOYS are concerned," said frontman Spike. "But even by our standards, this looks like being one hell of a party!"

U.K. Thrashers ACID REIGN Release Music Video For New Single 'The New Low'

U.K. Thrashers ACID REIGN Release Music Video For New Single 'The New Low'

Reactivated U.K. thrashers ACID REIGN will release their first full-length album in 29 years, "The Age Of Entitlement", on September 27 via Dissonance Productions. The cover artwork for the disc was created by renowned artist Mark Wilkinson, who has previously worked with IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and MARILLION.

The official music video for the album's first single, "The New Low", can be seen below.

Commented vocalist Howard "H" Smith: "It's been a long time coming but finally ACID REIGN unleash on the world the first single from their first album in 29 years.

"'The New Low' was one of the first songs written for the album and was always going to be the opening single. Hope you all enjoy shouting along with it as much as we are looking forward to playing it live."

"The Age Of Entitlement" features ten tracks and will be available on streaming services, as a digital download, CD, LP and limited-edition cyan-colored vinyl.

Smith said about the album: "We started recording on August 1st last year with Jayce Lewis and he has been amazing. He was badgering me to do this for months. We had two other bigger names telling us they would love to do it, but Jayce showed us when recording 'The Man Who Became Himself' that he would go above and beyond to get the best out of what was a very difficult session. So just think what we could achieve when we are in a much better place. The results are stunning. You have an old-school thrash album with a contemporary twist and a production that honours that.

He continued: "I've had the title for a long time. Straight off the bat, it had an album-title ring to it and speaks to a world view that the entire band shares, which is important. Then Mark came up with the artwork, which he really knocked out of the park. We are all itching to get this out."

In 1991, ACID REIGN left an ailing U.K. thrash scene with a final show at the London Marquee. They toured with the likes of NUCLEAR ASSAULT, DARK ANGEL, EXODUS, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, DEATH ANGEL and CANDLEMASS. During this time, they put out two full-length albums, namely "The Fear" and "Obnoxious", following on from their mini album debut in 1988, "Moshkinstein". A final compilation, "The Worst Of Acid Reign", was released and their brief but highly productive career came to an end.

Since returning from a 24-year absence, the band — featuring original vocalist Howard "H" Smith, Pete Dee (bass), Paul Chanter (guitar), Marc Jackson (drums) and Cooky (guitar) — has been busy. On the back of two new songs, "Plan Of The Damned" (2015) and "The Man Who Became Himself" (2017), they hit the road both at home and throughout Europe for numerous tours and festival appearances, including the now-legendary record-breaking headline slot of the Sophie Stage at Bloodstock 2016. During this time, they have earned themselves a fearsome live reputation famous for its high energy, mass stage diving and violent pits. Reeling off old school classics from their back catalogue, they have become a must-see act that has seen the band sign with K2 live agency.

"'The Hollow Wanderer (Cursed)' has a classical Totengeflüster-song structure, containing a simple black metal riff enriched with a haunting gothic-melody on top. But there are also some innovations like more thrashing metal parts. The lyrics are about hollowness, like there is nothing you can do to fill the deep hole inside your chest - as if you‘re simply cursed."

CRASHDÏET: Lyric Video For New Song 'In The Maze'

CRASHDÏET: Lyric Video For New Song 'In The Maze'

The official lyric video for the song "In The Maze" from Swedish sleaze rockers CRASHDÏET can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's fifth studio album, "Rust", which will be released on September 13 via Diet Records in Scandinavia and Frontiers Music Srl in the rest of the world. The record marks the group's first full-length effort with vocalist Gabriel Keyes, who joined the band in December 2017. That same month, the group self-released a new song called "We Are The Legion", which is one of 11 tracks included on "Rust". Also included on the album is "Reptile", another new single featuring Keyes that was originally released in January.

"Rust" is the first CRASHDÏET studio album in six years and is the follow-up to 2013's "The Savage Playground". The disc was produced by Martin Sweet (apart from two tracks produced by Eric Bazilian and Chris Laney) and mixed by Chris Laney, who previously worked with CRASHDÏET on the band's 2005 critically acclaimed debut "Rest In Sleaze".

"Rust" track listing:

01. Rust

02. Into The Wild

03. Idiots

04. In The Maze

05. We Are The Legion

06. Crazy

07. Parasite

08. Waiting For Your Love

09. Reptile

10. Stop Weirding Me Out

11. Filth & Flowers

The Christel Mentges-designed cover art appears below.

In October, CRASHDÏET will join forces with THE CRUEL INTENTIONS and HIGHRIDE for the "Idiots On Tour 2019" European trek.

CRASHDÏET was originally founded in 2000 by late vocalist Dave Lepard and guitarist Mary Goore, better known as GHOST's Tobias Forge. The group's 2005 debut album, "Rest In Sleaze", debuted at No. 12 in the band's home country, but eight months after its release, the 25-year-old Lepard committed suicide. CRASHDÏET then recruited Finnish vocalist H. Olliver Twisted (RECKLESS LOVE) for its 2007 sophomore album, "The Unattractive Revolution", but after touring in support of the LP, Twisted exited the group. The band then welcomed Simon Cruz, who appeared on 2010's "Generation Wild" (which reached No. 3 in Sweden) and 2013's "The Savage Playground" (which reached No. 2) before leaving the band in the midst of a Japanese tour in 2015.

TOOL: 'Fear Inoculum' Cover Art Unveiled

TOOL: 'Fear Inoculum' Cover Art Unveiled

The cover art for TOOL's long-awaited fifth studio album, "Fear Inoculum", can be seen below. The disc which will arrive on August 30, will follow up 2006's "10,000 Days".

The "Fear Inoculum" title track will make its online debut on Wednesday, August 7.

Jones continued: "Then Maynard [James Keenan, singer] told me about a whole concept he had about the number seven.

Video Premiere: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's 'I Am Broken Too'

Video Premiere: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's 'I Am Broken Too'

The official music video for "I Am Broken Too", the new single from Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, can be seen below. The song is taken from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's new album, "Atonement", which will be released on August 16 via Metal Blade Records in the U.S. and Sony Music Entertainment in the rest of the world.

The band is donating a portion of the proceeds from "I Am Broken Too" to Hope For The Day, a Chicago-based non-profit organization that focuses on suicide prevention by providing outreach and mental health education through the use of music and art.

"This song is very near and dear to my heart," singer Jesse Leach explained. "I wanted the listener to feel the urgency, the heaviness of the topic as well as a possible connection. Many people suffer from mental illness in one form or another. I want nothing more than for people to feel like they are not alone in this struggle. There is always someone there to help, to listen, and to be there for you. Don't lose hope and don't let your brokenness consume you. Broken can be fixed, or at the very least, maintained. No one is alone in this fight."

Leach added about the "I Am Broken Too" clip: "The video is a reflection of real-life events that loved ones have gone through. Kyle Cogan and Zack Stauffer did an amazing job of bringing it all to life. The result is a powerful video that captures the essence and desperation of the song."

Regarding the decision to work with Hope For The Day, Leach said: "I personally chose Hope For The Day to be the organization we partner with for this song. I admire their tireless efforts to spread mental awareness and suicide prevention. The phrase and the hashtag #ItsOkNotToBeOk is a simple yet powerful statement. I think it coincides with #IamBrokenToo perfectly! Johnny Boucher and his organization are out spreading the powerful message of connectivity and solidarity in this fight for understanding mental health issues. I'm honored to have them on our team for this song and this movement to continue to raise awareness and keep the conversation going for mental health issues."

"'I Am Broken Too' is a song that truly encompasses what we need to be doing in society, talking about what we have been through," Boucher said. "We know that by talking about our experiences, we are able to relate and be encouraged to ask for help. Hope For The Day has been working with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE on breaking the silence around mental health since 2014, and we couldn't be more excited to continue working with them on raising the visibility of resources in our communities."

In other KILLSWITCH ENGAGE news, the band will take part in an exclusive in-store performance on August 14 at 5 p.m. PT at Amoeba Music in Hollywood, California. Fans will be able to purchase the album to get guaranteed admission and a limited-edition "Live At Amoeba" poster. The band will also perform a special intimate show at The Space in Las Vegas on August 13.

"Atonement" is the culmination of a trying and turbulent two-year period. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE started kicking around ideas for the album as early as 2017. The band recorded the bulk of the material separately on both coasts. However, in the middle of the process, a polyp developed scar tissue in Leach's throat, forcing him to undergo surgery. The intense three-month recovery ended with speech therapy, vocal therapy, and scream therapy. The band ultimately emerged with an album that is further evidence of their undeniable legacy as one of the most enduring metal bands of the last two decades and beyond.

The elaborate illustration on the "Atonement" album cover was created by none other than talented U.K.-based artist Richey Beckett (METALLICA, MASTODON) with the band's own Mike D'Antonio handling art direction and layout duties.

"Atonement" features guest appearances by the band's former lead singer Howard Jones and TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy. It marks the band's third full-length release since the return of Leach, who rejoined the group in 2012.

"Atonement" track listing:

01. Unleashed

02. The Signal Fire (feat. Howard Jones)

03. Us Against The World

04. The Crownless King (feat. Chuck Billy)

05. I Am Broken Too

06. As Sure As The Sun Will Rise

07. Know Your Enemy

08. Take Control

09. Ravenous

10. I Can't Be The Only One

11. Bite The Hand That Feeds

Leach recently said that he "wouldn't change a thing" about the follow-up to 2016's "Incarnate". "At first, I was a bit crestfallen that a few songs I truly loved didn't make the cut," he wrote on Instagram. "Now after time has passed (and I've not listened to it for a while), I listened with fresh ears today. I gotta say I am quite satisfied! The messages, the tones, the track listing order, the artwork, the overall feel of this album, it just feels fresh!

"I feel there is something for everyone on this one. It captures the wide range of styles and topics that are part of our history as a band as well as pushing things just a touch. It is a pretty amazing feeling as a very picky and perpetually unsatisfied (and fairly insecure) artist to feel accomplished."

Leach appeared on KILLSWITCH's self-titled debut and sophomore album, "Alive Or Just Breathing", before exiting the band. Jones took over on vocals for "The End Of Heartache", "As Daylight Dies" and the 2009 self-titled set before being dismissed from the group seven years ago.

"Incarnate" debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 35,000 equivalent album units. In terms of pure album sales, it opened with 33,000 copies.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's last release was the "Beyond The Flames: Home Video Part II" two-disc, Blu-ray and CD package.

CRADLE OF FILTH Moved To Smaller Stage At Wacken Open Air 2019 Following Temporary Thunderstorm Evacuation; Fan-Filmed Video Available

CRADLE OF FILTH Moved To Smaller Stage At Wacken Open Air 2019 Following Temporary Thunderstorm Evacuation; Fan-Filmed Video Available

Cradle Of Filth keyboardist / backing vocalist Lindsay Schoolcraft has checked in with the following update:

"We had such a great time at Wacken this past Friday despite all the complications because of the storms. We were literally told 10 minutes before we were heading to the stage that we had to evacuate. We were sent to a safe building for an hour and because of this we were told we missed our set time and may not be able to play. Luckily, we were moved to a smaller stage and were still able to perform in the evening. The day brought on a lot of fun, laughter, and memories because of this schedule swap. If we went on at our regular set time I would have missed out on so much and would have been back to the hotel and in bed by 8pm... boring. I’m sorry that the meet-and-greet didn’t go ahead and apologize to anyone we missed because of it. Thank you to our wonderful crew who helped us get through the day and thank you to the Wacken staff for their 5 star hospitality."

Fan-filmed video from the show is available below.

Lindsay Schoolcraft is preparing to release her debut solo album, Martyr, on October 7th.  The album was co-written by former Evanescence drummer Rocky Gray and offers eleven tracks of entrancing gothic rock, influenced by Schoolcraft's background in classical music. Fans of Evanescence, Nightwish, and the like will appreciate Martyr's lush, piano-driven arrangements, while Cradle of Filth enthusiasts will enjoy hearing this darkly romantic side of Schoolcraft's music.

Lindsay commented: "At last I can finally share with the world what I’ve been so vaguely teasing online for years. I can’t thank my fans enough for being so patient about this release. Working with Rocky Gray has been a dream come true for me and the love I have for his work and my lyrical stories really shines through on this album. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did creating and recording it."

"See The Light" - featuring Ne Obliviscaris frontman Xenoyr - is now available on Lindsay's official BandCamp page. Check out the song via the player below.

Lindsay recently released a lyric video for the song "Lullaby".

Lindsay recently shut down the internet trolls that have started to spread rumours she is leaving the band following a post in which she stated: "The last 4 months with Cradle of Filth have been very rewarding. We’ve been across 4 continents and have brought our music and art to so many people. I feel grateful to say I can do this for a living and that I have a great circle and support group around me who keep me inspired and sane. Unfortunately I am not a robot nor machine and my body, mind, and spirit are running on little to no steam at the moment. I plan to go home and hide for awhile and when my energy comes back I will continue to create and push forward my solo album launch. Thank you all who were part of our world tour the past few months. Thank you to anyone who was kind and loving towards me when I was down or weak. Thank you all who are still here and for your love and patience."

Some small-minded people clearly read too much into her post, and Lindsay has issued the following answer to those individuals:

BEHEMOTH Frontman NERGAL Weighs In On SLIPKNOT And SLAYER - "Every Time I Meet The Mixing Guy Or Production Guy For The Next Album, I Bring Either Iowa Or God Hates Us All"

BEHEMOTH Frontman NERGAL Weighs In On SLIPKNOT And SLAYER - "Every Time I Meet The Mixing Guy Or Production Guy For The Next Album, I Bring Either Iowa Or God Hates Us All"

Behemoth frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski spoke with Radioactive Mike Z at the Knotfest Roadshow on July 27th. During their conversation, found below, Nergal looked back on the first time he heard Slipknot and Slayer.

Nergal:  "Every time I get to meet the mixing guy or production guy for the next Behemoth album, I bring either Iowa (Slipknot) or God Hates Us All (Slayer). These two are my most referred albums when it comes to Behemoth productions on so many levels. I'm not saying that we want to copy that - there's a vibe - there's something absolutely untamed on both records. It's awesome."

Behemoth are hitting the road this summer with Slipknot on the Knotfest Roadshow Tour. All dates are below. The band has shared the video for "Sabbath Mater" from their latest album, I Loved You At Your Darkest. Watch below.

"We bring you the new video for 'Sabbath Mater,'" the band said. "The energy and vibe was made for performance and that's exactly what we accomplished in the video. Oh, and some ungodly imagery - it is a Behemoth video after all. As always, we are fortunate to have the mighty Grupa 13 helping us to manifest our nefarious visions. Enjoy it and we'll see you very soon."

Behemoth will be selling a single-disc LP version of I Loved You At Your Darkest during the tour. All Behemoth summer 2019 tour dates are below.

I Loved You At Your Darkest is a crushing salvo of black metal majesty replete with hellish riffs, thundering drum cannonades, and soaring liturgical choirs reminiscent of classic horror cinema. It's Behemoth's most dynamic record yet - extreme and radical on one hand, but also more rock-oriented than any other release. Produced by the band itself, with drum co-production by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames), mixing by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Children oof Bodom) mastering by Tom Baker (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson), and a 17-piece Polish orchestra arranged by Jan Stoklosa, I Loved You At Your Darkest is available here.

ANTHRAX Guitarist SCOTT IAN In Praise Of AC/DC's MALCOLM YOUNG - "No One Else Is Gonna Write Those Riffs Again"

ANTHRAX Guitarist SCOTT IAN In Praise Of AC/DC's MALCOLM YOUNG - "No One Else Is Gonna Write Those Riffs Again"

Guesting on SiriusXM Volume's program, Debatable, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian talked about why he believes AC/DC legend Malcolm Young is the best rhythm guitarist of all time.

“There is just an instant rush anytime I hear AC/DC,” said Ian in the video chat and demo of the all-new Gretsch G6131-MY Malcolm Young Signature Jet, released last year. “It’s like mainlined into my brain. As soon as I hear him playing chords I just get excited, still, after all these years. If I put on 'Let There Be Rock,' I feel the same now as I did 40 years ago. It moves me in exactly the same way.”

As a young teen, Ian actually learned how to play rhythm guitar by listening and playing along to Malcolm, who he considers the greatest rhythm guitarist of all-time. And given the chance to plug in his hero’s new signature model to a vintage Marshall amp and let loose, he was all in.

“It sounds great, it feels great,” said Ian. “First off, when I walked in the room, it looked great and you know it is going to sound good when acoustically it sounds so good. And then we fired it up …

“Look, I don’t get to play big open chords in my band. My band is all about down picking and palm muting, fast alternating — a completely different style of rhythm playing. So, when I get to hit really big chords and dig in, it is so much fun for me because it is the opposite of what I do. But, it is what I grew up learning how to do. And it’s what I still love, going back to that. Anytime I can just pick up a guitar that sounds so good and feels so good, and then play chords that sound perfect, I could do it all day. It makes me happy. I could literally sit for an hour and play that A chord over and over again and not get bored.”

After some lengthy playing-indulgence, we asked Ian to describe the sound he was getting out of the signature Pro Jet. “There’s like this splash when Malcolm hits a big old chord and lets it ring out," described Ian. "He digs into the chord and that sounds comes at you. It’s like a giant wave coming at you, and then it crashes. And then another one, and then another one. And this has that feeling. When you dig into that chord, you feel the amp react. You can like, literally feel the tubes. You feel it. You feel that swell of volume, and then it pulls back. And then you hit another one. It makes you really feel like a part of it. It’s that swell, that wave, that splash of his tone, and this sounds exactly like that.”

The number of artists who consider Malcolm Young an inspiration runs pretty deep, but we’re guessing not too many have gone so far to actually have his face inked into their own skin. Anthrax axeman Scott Ian, though, has immortalized the late-great rhythm guitarist on his left bicep, along with his brother Angus Young on his right.

“Specifically, these guys, as a guitar player, mean everything to me,” explains Ian in this video interview. “That’s why I really wanted them on me because it makes me happy to be able to look at them every day.

“Malcolm has always been my hero since day one because he basically taught me how to play guitar. As a kid with AC/DC albums, vinyl albums, in my little bed room on a turn table, I just used to sit and figure out how to play their songs. And it was all Malcolm. You know? It was all him. So, I was learning to play specifically by listening to what he was doing. He was my guitar teacher. He was the reason I learned how to play rhythm guitar the way I do.”

Watch as Ian explains the magic of Malcolm Young:

Nicknamed “The Beast,” Malcolm certainly made the instrument his own, not least by removing two of the three pickups, stripping away the finish, and pounding out some of the hardest and most memorable rhythms the world has heard.

“I mean, as soon as you hear that first… chord, you know it’s him,” said his brother Angus Young. “To do this… you have to be a master of rhythm, and that’s exactly what Mal [was].”

This models features the essential hallmarks of one of rock’s most iconic instruments including “DIY” pickup routes with simulated screw holes, chrome switch plugs, Space-Control™ bridge and ‘60s-style tailpiece. Open-cavity thunder roars from the thin-skin satin finished chambered mahogany body and is magnified by a high-output TV Jones® Power’Tron™ pickup.

Malcolm Young’s fiery rock ‘n’ roll spirit lives on through AC/DC’s enduringly timeless music, and it is Gretsch’s great privilege to pay fitting tribute to him with a finely crafted instrument bearing his name.

- “DIY” pickup routes with simulated screw holes
- Chrome switch plugs

SLAYER Plays Last-Ever Show In Europe

SLAYER Plays Last-Ever Show In Europe

SLAYER played its last-ever concert in Europe earlier tonight (Saturday, August 3) at Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Germany. Support at the show came from ANTHRAX and ALIEN WEAPONRY.

Just after the gig, ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante took to his Instagram to post photos of SLAYER's Tom Araya and Kerry King saying goodbye to the fans from the stage, as well as a backstage picture of Benante, Araya and ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian. Charlie wrote in an accompanying caption: "Tonight was @slayerbandofficial last show in Europe . This was a very emotional time and I’m somewhat happy I was here to be a part of it #reigninblood #slayerfarewelltour2018 #sad @anthrax familia"

SLAYER will set off on "The Final Campaign", the seventh and final leg of its farewell world tour in November. This last hurrah will start at the ExploreAsheville Arena in Asheville, North Carolina, and see the band taking its goodbye bow at the Los Angeles Forum on November 30. Accompanying SLAYER for this last ride are PRIMUS, MINISTRY and PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS performing a vulgar display of PANTERA, who will support on all dates.

SLAYER's final world tour began on May 10, 2018 with the band's intention to play as many places as possible, to make it easy for the fans to see one last SLAYER show and say goodbye. By the time the 18-month trek wraps on November 30, the band will have completed seven tour legs plus a series of one-off major summer festivals, performing more than 140 shows in 30 countries and 40 U.S. states.

SLAYER's final world tour has been a wild ride. Three bus drivers, four truck drivers, and a crew of 32 have traveled all over the world to set the stage for this farewell. At most shows, SLAYER's pyro expert set off 160 pounds of propane and 10 liters of 99% isopropyl alcohol, prompting the Phoenix New Times reviewer to comment on the "eyebrow-singeing pyrotechnics that could be felt even 10 rows behind the pit." In Toronto, one diehard fan was ejected from the concert before SLAYER took the stage, so jumped into Lake Ontario (that surrounds the Budweiser Arena) and swam back to the venue. The Tampa Bay Times' Jay Cridlin wrote, "Beginning with the throttling opener 'Repentless', SLAYER tore through their set like a flaming cigarette boat across the river Styx, charring up a vicious circle pit by the stage," and Detroit's Gary Graff noted in his Oakland Press review the "10,000 headbangers who skipped the 'Game Of Thrones' finale to pay homage to the pioneering quartet." "The sheer physicality of their show was something to behold and was yet another indication that while the band may be calling it a career, they are going out on top, playing at their absolute best," wrote Andy Lindquist for the SF Sonic, and Guy D'Astolfo with the Youngtown Vindicator ended his review with this: "After the final note, Tom Araya stood alone, scanning the crowd...forging a mental imprint of the moment. After a minute or two, he went to the microphone and said, 'I'm going to miss you guys.' Then he exited and the lights went up."
