SAINT ASONIA Release New Song "The Hunted" Feat. GODSMACK's Sully Erna; Lyric Video

SAINT ASONIA Release New Song "The Hunted" Feat. GODSMACK's Sully Erna; Lyric Video

Saint Asonia - featuring vocalist Adam Gontier, guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist Cale Gontier, and drummer Sal Giancarelli - have just dropped "The Hunted", the first single from their forthcoming second album and Spinefarm Records debut, Flawed Design, due out this fall.

Stream "The Hunted", featuring Godsmack's Sully Erna, here. A lyric video for the song can be found below.

"'The Hunted' is a song about struggling to find your place in life," Gontier said. "It's a solid representation of the direction Saint Asonia is headed. I'm excited to share this with the world. And it's an awesome bonus having Sully from Godsmack guesting on it."

Mushok concurs, "I'm very excited for everyone to get a taste of what the new Saint Asonia album is going to sound like and I think that having 'The Hunted' as our first single is a great representation of where the band is going. It's also a huge honor to have a longtime friend - Sully Erna, whose musicianship I've admired for years - be a guest on this song."

Right from the start, Saint Asonia have been fueled by a single vision: to put music and emotion first and to deliver recordings that aren't overly produced or messed around with. It's a vision that's reflected in the very name of the band, which is derived, with a grin, from the desire to block out distraction and focus on the purely creative. "Asonia" is the term for "tone deafness" and it's a vision that very much underpins the latest studio recordings.

Saint Asonia sparked into life four years ago when former Three Days Grace frontman Gontier and Staind guitarist/founding member Mike Mushok (also an important part of the Newsted setup in 2013) decided to turn their joint ambition to make music that is "raw, real, and straight from our hearts" into a new band and a fully-fledged studio outing.

The result was their acclaimed self-titled debut, released in 2015, which charted Top 10 in Canada and entered the Billboard US Rock Albums chart at #2. The album was driven by the Top 10 radio tracks "Better Place" and "Let Me Live My Life," as well as the high-concept video to the featured track "Fairy Tale."

Given the pedigree and profile of the musicians involved -they are collectively responsible for 28 Top 10 US Rock Radio hits, including 17 #1s - the demand was immediately there for Saint Asonia to take to the road. Following an inaugural main stage appearance at Rock on the Range in 2015, the band set off on U.S. amphitheater tours with Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed.

In Europe, they guested on an arena run with Mötley Crüe, visiting the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, and Finland, as well as playing several dates in Russia and Eastern Europe. As a consequence, Gontier has been back to the region for extensive solo acoustic shows.

With Adam's cousin Cale Gontier of Canadian band Art of Dying on bass and Staind's Sal Giancarelli on drums, the latest Saint Asonia lineup is now primed for a comprehensive live campaign in support of the forthcoming sophomore release; this will include key festivals and headline shows, both at home and abroad. With a new deal in place and a new chapter primed to unfold, the four musicians are keen to place as much emphasis on the international arena as continuing to build their success story at home.

"This new album is a giant step forward for us in many ways," says the frontman. "Of course, there's those elements that have always been present in the music, like the heavy riffs and the vulnerability within the lyrics. But there's also a completely new element that takes things to a different level. Our goal is to raise the bar on every record, so we're incorporating a lot of different sounds and instruments on this one. For me, this is the best stuff I've written since 2005. I guess you'll have to hear it to judge for yourself!"

THREE DAYS GRACE To Spend Most Of 2020 Working On New Album

THREE DAYS GRACE To Spend Most Of 2020 Working On New Album

THREE DAYS GRACE will spend most of 2020 writing and recording material for the follow-up to last year's "Outsider" album.

Singer Matt Walst spoke about the band's plans for a new LP during an interview with 105.7 The Point prior to THREE DAYS GRACE's July 21 concert in St. Louis.

Asked when fans can expect to hear some new music from THREE DAYS GRACE, Walst said: "We're gonna finish off this tour, and then we have another one with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH… And then after that, we're back in writing mode. It'll take a good year to write and bring it out."

THREE DAYS GRACE's U.S. tour with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH will kick off on November 1 in Las Vegas and end on December 15 in Des Moines, Iowa.

The internationally acclaimed and multi-platinum certified Canadian band with over a billion streams on Spotify recently extended its record for the most No. 1s in the 38-year history of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart, with "Right Left Wrong" its 15th No. 1 single on the tally. With this latest achievement, the band pushed further ahead of runners-up SHINEDOWN and VAN HALEN, each with 13.

"Right Left Wrong" is featured on "Outsider", THREE DAYS GRACE's sixth full-length album and fifth consecutive Top 40-charting LP on the Billboard Top 200.

THREE DAYS GRACE's other No. 1 singles include "Misery Loves My Company", "Chalk Outline", "World So Cold", "Never Too Late", "Just Like You", "Animal", "Pain", "Home" and "Infra-Red".

The Canadian act also consistently averages 3.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, remaining one of the most listened-to rock bands in the world.

CEREBRAL ROT Streaming New Track “Putrefaction (Eternal Decay)”

CEREBRAL ROT Streaming New Track “Putrefaction (Eternal Decay)”

"Putrefaction (Eternal Decay)" is the latest gory decimation from Seattle death metal outfit, Cerebral Rot, and their impending debut LP, Odious Descent Into Decay. The LP is oozing towards its worldwide release through the deathmongers at 20 Buck Spin in mid-August, after which the band will trek across the US with labelmates Fetid on the Odious Mess Of Seeping Decay tour.

Continuing to extract the deadliest beings from the dankest corners of the Northwest, 20 Buck Spin summons from the festering swamp-soaked murk the revolting mutation that is Cerebral Rot. Like sewage winding its way through tunnels below the street, the band's music reeks with the stench of vulgarity and noxious body fumes. The band shares members with other acts from across the region including, Fetid, Crurifragium, Cauterized, Caustic Wound, Excarnated Entity, and others.

Odious Descent Into Decay will see release on LP, CD, cassette, and all digital platforms via 20 Buck Spin on August 16th. Fans of Fetid, Undergang, early-Carcass, and huffing embalming fluid, rejoice.

Embalmed in an analog toxic dump, the debut Cerebral Rot LP Odious Descent Into Decay follows the Cessation Of Life demo, released in 2018. The new LP melts the skin with radioactive brutality and gurgling bursts of punishing cruelty. Virulent subterranean death metal glistening with pustular fallout and obscure rotten air left too long on the morgue table, the skin peels off and the last gasp of life echoes terrifyingly within. A rank abomination of disgust, Odious Descent Into Decay reliesnot on over technicality but disfiguring physical violence and battering submission in its quest for the true embodiment of sub-underground death as it morphs from one wet distorted monstrosity to another. Like the miserable mess of decayed forms on the cover, the septic sickness of Cerebral Rot has only just begun to spread.

Tracklisting:

"Odious Descent Into Decay"
"Swamped In Festering Excrementia"
"Reeking Septic Mass"
"Cerebral Rot"
"Putrefaction (Eternal Decay)"
"Sardonic Repentance"
"Repulsive Infestation Of Cadaver"
"Primordial Soup Of Radioactive Sewage"
"Foul Stench Of Ruination"

"Putrefaction (Eternal Decay)":

Cerebral Rot will tour across the US in support of the LP alongside 20 Buck Spin kin Fetid. The tour will run from August 29th through October 11th. Watch for the final routing and venue info in the days ahead.

FOSCOR Debut New Track “Malson”

FOSCOR Debut New Track “Malson”

Catalan atmospheric metal band Foscor have premiered “Malson”, the brand new song from their upcoming release, Els Sepulcres Blancs.

Foscor comment on the track:

"The gaps between reality and the dream world, poetry and reality, set a dialogue with our own and deepest emotions dealing with the real and ideal conscious level. 'Els Sepulcres Blancs' delivers the most intimate exercise to date, as the act of dreaming and imagining the change does.

"Our music pretends to serve us as a tool in the thrilling act of poetizing the world. The new song ‘Malson’ translates as ‘Nightmare’ in Catalan, and digs into the darkest side of life and our own weaknesses, trying to approach the listener to the lyrical content. Metaphorically, life sometimes seems to offer no escape to suffering moments, as if a tall black presence accompanying us may lead everything to recurrent dead ends when facing our boundaries.

"Once again, filmed and edited by our guitarist Falke, the video claims to reach reconciliation between our own world of emotions and the physical one we daily must deal with. There’s a tragic sense on life’s darkness which allows a new beauty to appear, and so it is what inspires our music and speech. Musically speaking, the song is the most delicate one of the collection, offering by far the most distant to metal language from the whole album. Choosing to work without distortion on guitars was a key point during the composition process and opened a new and definitive universe to us trying to reach the timeless music all across styles and ages we drink from."

Tracklisting:

“Laments”
“Els Colors del Silenci”
“Malson”
“Secrets”
“Cel Rogent”
“Cançó de Mort”
“L’Esglai”

STEVE GRIMMETT'S GRIM REAPER lead singer Steve Grimmett had his right leg partially amputated in January 2017 after an infected wound on his foot spread to the bones in his leg part way through the group's five-week tour of South America.

The life-saving surgery was carried out in Ecuador and the now-59-year-old frontman was in hospital for just over a month while fans raised $14,000 to bring him home after his insurance company refused to pay because of the type of work he was doing.

Grimmett told the Swindon Advertiser: "What's happened has been very humbling, especially when I consider the number of people who have helped me. I now look on life a bit differently. What's happened has taught me not to be impatient and to make the most out of life."

Grimmett reformed GRIM REAPER in 2006 as STEVE GRIMMETT'S GRIM REAPER following an amicable decision between the singer and original GRIM REAPER guitarist Nick Bowcott, who both agreed that using the original name minus the other members of the classic lineup wouldn't be a proper reunion.

Video Premiere: DEMON HUNTER's 'The Negative'

Video Premiere: DEMON HUNTER's 'The Negative'

DEMON HUNTER has released the official music video for the song "The Negative". The track is taken from the band's new album "War", which was made available alongside a companion LP, "Peace", on March 1.

"The video for 'The Negative' was directed and edited by Oleg Masnyy," explains singer Ryan Clark. "Oleg and I shot a variety of vignettes — including myself singing the song — as well as a number of moving objects to create texture and diversity. We paired our shots with found footage, and edited the entire thing in a highly-crushed monochromatic style, utilizing only stark black, white, and red. Our goal was to create something that felt gritty and punk — like the song itself — influenced by '90s DIY show posters and silkscreen shirt graphics. The images, scenes, and objects themselves tie into the theme of the song, which is — to put it simply — the consistency of humankind's failure."

As previously reported, DEMON HUNTER will perform more than 20 songs each night at a series of special shows this summer.

"An Evening With Demon Hunter" is an epic mixture of fan favorite anthems and deep cuts that have never been performed live. Both electric and acoustic presentations will feature songs that span the band's 10 studio albums, including "War" and "Peace".

"We're building a show that's unlike anything we've done before," Clark explained. "We'll have video installations, created specifically for this tour, during set changes. We are planning the biggest lighting/staging production we've ever done, surpassing even the 'Stronger Than Hell' tour we did back in the day."

As a headlining act, DEMON HUNTER helped introduce audiences to bands like AUGUST BURNS RED. They've done several headlining tours and toured as direct support to IN FLAMES. In recent years, they appeared at Chicago Open Air (with OZZY OSBOURNE, KISS), Heavy Montreal (MARILYN MANSON, GOJIRA), and headlined Uprise Fest and Rock The Desert.

"An Evening With Demon Hunter" will arrive in 10 cities across North America, with VIP ticket packages available through SoundRink. The tour concludes with a more traditional festival-length set at Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky, alongside genre titans GUNS N' ROSES, SLIPKNOT, DISTURBED and BREAKING BENJAMIN.

"No opening bands, just an entire night of DH mania," Clark added. "Whether you've seen DEMON HUNTER in the past or not, you won't want to miss this."

KXM Featuring KORN, KING'S X, Ex-DOKKEN Members: 'War Of Words' Video

KXM Featuring KORN, KING'S X, Ex-DOKKEN Members: 'War Of Words' Video

"War Of Words", the new video from KXM, the band featuring bassist/vocalist Doug "dUg" Pinnick (KING'S X), guitarist George Lynch (LYNCH MOB, DOKKEN) and drummer Ray Luzier (KORN), can be seen below. The energizing clip depicts the band artfully contemplating the consequences of our words in today’s climate in the midst of a ferocious musical performance. The video was shot by Sebastien Paquet, and edited and directed by Jamie Brown for Smoking Gun Productions Inc.

"War Of Words" is taken from KXM's upcoming third album, "Circle Of Dolls", which will be released on September 13 via Rat Pak Records in the U.S. and Frontiers Music Srl in Europe. The disc was recorded at Steakhouse Studio in North Hollywood, California with co-producer/engineer Chris Collier, who also helmed the group's first two releases.

"Circle Of Dolls" is currently available for pre-order via the Rat Pak web site in various bundle configurations, including turquoise-and-black splatter vinyl, cassette and hand-autographed CD packages.

Luzier comments: "There's a certain energy that happens in the studio very quickly when George, Doug and I get together and jam. This is our third record and it was recorded with the same formula as the first two albums — no pre-written ideas; we just come up with totally fresh grooves and riffs and not overthink anything. We definitely didn't repeat ourselves, but you know for sure who it is when you hear it. All three records have their own unique character."

Lynch explains: "It's better than the first two albums. It's insane. The magic is there, the chemistry's there and we're just sitting here patting ourselves on the back, telling each other what geniuses we are."

Pinnick adds: "I hope everyone enjoys listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it."

From the infectious riff of the album opener "War Of Words" to the album finale of "The Border", KXM has yet again created something truly special and musically diverse. Songs like "Lightning", "Big As The Sun" and "Cold Sweats" are sonically different from each other taking the listener on a musical journey. "Circle Of Dolls" is a darker record, thematically, than KXM's first two albums and builds upon the band's established rock sound with thought-provoking lyrics, catchy guitar riffs and rock-solid grooves.

"Circle Of Dolls" track listing:

01. War Of Words

02. Mind Swamp

03. Circle Of Dolls

04. Lightning

05. Time Flies

06. Twice

07. Big As The Sun

08. Vessel Of Destruction

09. A Day Without Me

10. Wide Awake

11. Shadow Lover

12. Cold Sweats

13. The Border

14. War Of Words (Radio Edit) (bonus track on CD and download versions only)

KXM — which derives its name from a combination of its members' other projects (K from KORN, X from KING'S X and M from LYNCH MOB) — issued its self-titled debut in 2014. The 13-track follow-up, "Scatterbrain", was released in March 2017.

GODSMACK Frontman: 'I've Been Just As Disappointed As I've Been Blessed With Meeting Some Of My Childhood Heroes'

GODSMACK Frontman: 'I've Been Just As Disappointed As I've Been Blessed With Meeting Some Of My Childhood Heroes'

GODSMACK vocalist Sully Erna recently spoke with Andy Hall of the Des Moines, Iowa radio station Lazer 103.3. The full conversation can be streamed below. A few excerpts follow (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On the band's latest album, "When Legends Rise":

Sully: "I've got to tell you, it's really been an impressive album cycle so far. We're having so much fun with it. We really, really love this record and chose to get behind it as hard as we have because of that. To see it performing and having the people enjoy it and seeing new people... it's really opened up doors, I think, for a broader fan base. It's been great. I've really enjoyed the ride so far."

On expanding their sound:

Sully: "I think it's extremely important, and it's been a learning experience. As we were just coming up in the '90s, I was a very young, angry guy that had a lot of other issues going on, and it's no wonder that that music came out a lot more aggressive. As we've grown, our lives have changed, and we've evolved as humans and people and songwriters. I would expect the music would grow with those personalities, and grow with the fan base. The same 25-year-old kid that was listening to GODSMACK in '98 is now 50 years old, or whatever, and has an 18-year-old kid of his own, so they're discovering the band through their parents. There's a whole new generation, if not two, that's come up since then. I think it's important that the music has to evolve and we don't write the same stuff all the time, but it's also important that we try to keep the thread of the integrity and the power of what the band has built our career on and not shift too much in one shot and freak out the audience and alienate the core fans."

On the band's current active rock radio hit single, "Under Your Scars", and the nonprofit The Scars Foundation:

Sully: "It really has the most layers to the story out of all of the songs I've ever written, and really has become an extremely important song for me because it now lends itself to such a bigger purpose. The song came to me because I went through an experience with someone that I realized that sometimes, as humans, our nature when we have some of these imperfections or wounds that we carry inside of ourselves and they're exposed, we tend to shut down and walk away because we're embarrassed by them or feel unworthy or vulnerable or whatever it is. The song was really about finding acceptance and living with these scars that we have and showing them off to the world, really, instead of hiding them, so we can hopefully inspire others to tell their stories, and maybe that's how we'll start making a dent in this insane suicide epidemic that we're experiencing. That whole thought process, and when that song came around and it was really about finding that acceptance, it kind of triggered the whole idea to birth The Scars Foundation. I always wanted to do a nonprofit and dedicate my time and energy to give back, but I could never really find my lane, because I wasn't affected by someone who passed away from cancer or AIDS or some of those things that are very important as well, but just never affected me on a personal level yet, and hopefully won't. But these kind of categories — bullying, PTSD, suicide prevention, severe depression, addiction — those are all the things that I grew up around and experienced myself, and I felt like maybe this is really where my expertise lies, because I lived it. Being affected by people that I've lost over it, I try to think of every kind of category that funnels people into a depressive state of mind, and that's what The Scars Foundation became. It's not only helping people on a global level by raising money to give to these experts in those fields, but it's becoming a community where people can just kind of go and talk and tell their stories and try to inspire others to come forward and flush it out. Depression, that's the invisible killer. You can't see it like you can if someone was an amputee or a burn victim or something that you can offer help to. We have to flush it out and get it out of the body, and I think that's the only way to do it — to try to get people talking and inspire them somehow through our own stories."

On meeting his heroes:

Sully: "It really is a gamble sometimes. I've been just as disappointed as I've been blessed with meeting some of my childhood heroes. I've noticed that the real legendary bands — the bands that have every right to be arrogant or egotistical if they wanted to be — are the bands that are the coolest. When you meet James Hetfield [METALLICA], when you meet Steven Tyler and Joe Perry [of AEROSMITH] and Neil Peart from RUSH, some of these iconic bands that I've loved listening to, I find that they are the coolest guys... I think that's the way to treat people in general, and I've always been a fan of trying to be respectful and treating everybody equally and just being kind. I get it — we're all on a schedule, and things get monotonous after a while [with] pictures and photos and interviews and things, but it's what we signed up for. You can't be a complainer about it. You just have to understand it's part of the day's work. I've found another way to actually start enjoying it again, because I like hearing people's stories. I like talking to people. I may not always have the time to do it, but I always try to treat people with care and respect... I'm sure there's plenty of people out there that think I'm an ass, but I really do try to be mindful of that every day, because I know how it feels to be on the other side of it. Especially with this cause that I'm behind now, the last thing I want to do is make people feel unworthy. Part of this whole program is to try to get the people that feel unworthy to understand that they're not, and that we all have these imperfections, so why would I want to treat people any differently?"

GODSMACK is continuing to tour in support of its seventh studio album, "When Legends Rise", which came out in April of 2018. The band recently announced a fall American tour with HALESTORM, which kicks off September 20 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

MEGADETH's DAVID ELLEFSON Says DAVE MUSTAINE Is 'Moving Along' In His Battle With Throat Cancer

MEGADETH's DAVID ELLEFSON Says DAVE MUSTAINE Is 'Moving Along' In His Battle With Throat Cancer

MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson says that "it's been fun to be creating and working" on the band's new album while Dave Mustaine is battling throat cancer.

The 57-year-old MEGADETH leader revealed his cancer diagnosis on June 17 on social media. He said that he has already begun treatment as part of a plan that his doctors feel has a "90% success rate."

Although most of MEGADETH's previously announced 2019 tour dates have been canceled as Mustaine undergoes treatment, the MEGADETH-curated Megacruise — which is set to take place October 13-19 — will still depart as scheduled, and the band will be a part of it in some form.

Asked for an update on Mustaine's health status, Ellefson told Junkman of Doll Hut Radio (hear audio below): "He's moving along. He's doing his treatments. I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers for him. Like he said, it's to be faced head on, which he's doing, which is great. So that's moving along, which is good news on that front. And then, as far as the cruise goes, we're just kind of figuring out what and how that will be. And a lot of that's gonna be based on Dave's health condition at that point. But we're keeping that moving forward."

He continued: "But the cruise is gonna be great regardless. The awesome thing is that when that announcement went out about Dave's throat cancer, right away, Chuck Billy [from TESTAMENT] and all the guys started hitting me up, going, Hey, if you need us to sing some MEGADETH songs, we'll do it.' So the outpouring of love and goodwill and cool factor from everybody was just awesome… We'll see how that all plays out. Meanwhile, we're working on the new album, and that's been coming along. And quite honestly, it's been fun to be creating and working on that through this transition here as well."

The studio sessions for MEGADETH's new album are taking place in Franklin, Tennessee with co-producer Chris Rakestraw, who previously worked on 2016's "Dystopia" album.

Mustaine and Ellefson are the two remaining original members of MEGADETH, which was formed in 1983, following Mustaine's dismissal from METALLICA.

Hear COLD's New Single 'Without You'

Hear COLD's New Single 'Without You'

"Without You", a brand new song from alternative rockers COLD, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's sixth studio album, "The Things We Can't Stop", which will be released on September 13 via Napalm Records.

COLD has always documented memories and moments in song, etching them forever in diaristic lyrics, cinematic production, and airy guitars. Since their 1997 self-titled debut, the group fronted by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Scooter Ward, has consistently converted pain into poetry consumed by a legion of diehard fans affectionately dubbed "Cold Army."

After a dormant two-year period, 2017 saw Ward turn his attention to COLD through once again surveying the events of an ever-changing journey and relying on the same internal compass responsible for his catalog thus far.

"I needed life to happen to be able to create," he admits. "There were probably around 15 years where all I did was live and breathe the band. I needed to separate from that to remember what it was like to not have it anymore. It was extremely important for me to spend time with my family. I did experience writer's block for the first time in my life during the process though. It was brutal, because the one thing I've always had — left me. It seemed the series of events in my life had taken away my soul. It turned around. I've remained adamant about evolving a bit with each record. Approaching every chapter as a new beginning is paramount and necessary for it to be a true COLD album."

That's exactly what he made with his 2019 debut for Napalm Records, "The Things We Can't Stop". In order to overcome the drought, he returned to his "alternative roots," spinning favorite records from THE NATIONAL, INTERPOL and PLACEBO in addition to reading musician biographies. Discovering Nick Cave's "One More Time With Feeling" documentary proved eye-opening. Not only did he watch the film over twenty times and develop a deeper appreciation for the artist, but Ward credits him for "breaking my block."

He recorded the album in multiple locations. Drums and bass would be cut in Phoenix with Jeremy Parker at Equinox Studios joined by Nick Coyle (guitar, keys, backing vocals), Lindsay Manfredi (bass) and Aaron Fulton (drums). The rest of the material came to life at Ward's home studio in California and in the woods of Pennsylvania at Nick's.

With instrumentation in place, his vision unfolded in classic COLD fashion.

"Every time we begin a record, I wait for the music to tell me what the songs will be about," he explains. "I can never start a record with a preconceived notion of how it will end. The notes from the piano dictate the stories within the songs. I needed this to be an album with elements from all of the past albums…along with a new sound. As songs started forming, I felt they helped me deal with things happening in my life. They were therapeutic. It seemed powerful in that it took all of the bad things going in my head and gave me hope."

In the end, "The Things We Can't Stop" shines a light on life's tragedy only to color it with beauty as COLD has always done.

"When you listen to this, if you're going through something tragic, maybe you can take a small bit of hope that you're not alone," Ward leaves off. "To me, COLD means family. The fans who have stayed with us throughout the years and the people who have worked with us and are all connected through the music. The shows are reunions. These people have become my life. I'm extremely thankful."

Listen To New SLEEPING WITH SIRENS Song 'Break Me Down'

"Break Me Down", a brand new song from SLEEPING WITH SIRENS, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's fifth full-length album, "How It Feels To Be Lost", which will be released on September 6 via Sumerian Records. The follow-up to 2017's "Gossip" was recorded at MDDN Studios in Los Angeles and produced by Zakk Cervini (YUNGBLUD, GOOD CHARLOTTE) and Matt Good (ASKING ALEXANDRIA).

SLEEPING WITH SIRENS singer Kellin Quinn told Alternative Press last year that the band's new LP was "all about depression and anxiety. It's something that I think needs to be talked about, and it's something that I struggle with and deal with all the time," he said. "I wanted to make a record that was just purely honest about it, and I think that it's for those people that need that record."

Since emerging in 2010, SLEEPING WITH SIRENS has tested the boundaries of rock by walking a tightrope between pop, punk, metal, hardcore, electronic, acoustic, and even a little R&B. This high-wire balancing act attracted a faithful fan base known as "Strays," generated global album sales in excess of 1.5 million, ignited over half-a-billion streams, and achieved a trio of gold-selling singles: "If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn", "If You Can't Hang" and "Scene Two-Roger Rabbit". They launched two albums — "Feel" and "Madness" — into the Top 15 of the Billboard 200. Additionally, they collaborated with MGK on "Alone" and PIERCE THE VEIL on the gold-certified "King For A Day". Beyond selling out shows worldwide and receiving acclaim from The New York Times, Alternative Press crowned them "Artist Of The Year" at the Alternative Press Music Awards, proclaimed "Kick Me" the 2015 "Song Of The Year", and featured them as cover stars a whopping seven times.

SLIPKNOT: Pro-Shot Video Of 'Psychosocial' Performance From Spain's RESURRECTION FEST

SLIPKNOT: Pro-Shot Video Of 'Psychosocial' Performance From Spain's RESURRECTION FEST

Professionally filmed video footage of SLIPKNOT performing the song "Psychosocial" at this year's edition of the Resurrection Fest, which was held July 3-6 in Viveiro, Spain, can be seen below.

SLIPKNOT will embark on a European tour next year in support of its new album, "We Are Not Your Kind".

The band, which recently played a month's worth of European festival dates and headline shows, has released a list of the cities where it will perform in 2020, with more information to be made available soon.

The tour will launch in Dublin, Ireland and include eight shows in the U.K. plus another 19 dates across mainland Europe.

SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor recently spoke to BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show With Daniel P. Carter" about the band's new live show, which received its world premiere on June 7 at Rockfest in Hyvinkää, Finland. "It's been really good," he said. "The set's been pounding. The show looks amazing. We're all playing really well. We're getting bigger pops from things like [last year's standalone single] 'All Out Life' than we do from stuff like 'Duality', which is nuts… Honestly, it's everything that we've wanted to do for years, and we just never had the budget and we had also had a lot of people around us telling us we couldn't do it… We want people all over the world to see the same show. If there's an A and B rig, they're identical. We don't wanna come in with some tired, half-assed bullshit. It's not who we are, and we've had to contend with that almost our entire career. So not only is it interactive — there's video, there's fire — but the whole set looks like an industrial complex. This is our attempt to create some IRON MAIDEN stuff, which is something we've been trying to do for a while."

SLIPKNOT's European tour concluded on July 5 at the Resurrection Fest. It will be followed by the "Knotfest Roadshow" headline tour of North America. VOLBEAT, GOJIRA and BEHEMOTH will join as special guests on all dates. Produced by Live Nation, the 29-city outing will kick off July 26 in Mountain View, California at Shoreline Amphitheater and continue through September 8 where it will conclude with a performance at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas.

SLIPKNOT's sixth album, "We Are Not Your Kind", will be released on August 9 via Roadrunner. The disc was once again recorded at a Los Angeles studio with producer Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed SLIPKNOT's 2004 album "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" and helmed 2014's ".5: The Gray Chapter".

CROBOT Debut Official Music Video For New Song "Low Life"

CROBOT Debut Official Music Video For New Song "Low Life"

Crobot and Mascot Records have released a music video for "Low Life", from the band’s new studio album, Motherbrain, out globally on August 23. Pre-order the album here, and watch the video below.

The clip captures front man Brandon Yeagley as he navigates multiple settings while exhibiting questionable behavior towards the various characters he comes in contact with. Accompanied by a high energy band performance, Crobot have simply mastered the art of creating compelling, entertaining music videos. The clip was directed by David Brodsky, and produced by Allison Woest for My Good Eye Music Videos (Clutch, Queensryche, Gwar).

The song “Low Life” exhibits an expanded palette for the band. Featuring chunky guitars and a howling hook, it sees the band co-write with Johnny Andrews and deliver a bold banger.

Guitarist Chris Bishop shared, “It’s a song we never would’ve written by ourselves. That makes it cool. It took us out of our comfort zone.”

“It’s an anthem about this outside perspective on the definition of a lowlife,” explains Brandon. “There’s a misconception that being a touring musician without a lot of money makes you a lowlife, but how is that really any different from the rest of the world? And, if that does make you a lowlife, we’re okay with it!”

Crobot Singer Brandon Yeagley shares, “Gather 'round Beardos! Getcher ears to watch and your eyes to listen to the Crobot channel's Low Life transmission. What we're selling is kid-tested & Motherbrain approved. And you too can have your own Low Life anthem for the one time only low, low price of your soul!  Just sign right here... annnnnd here...”

During late 2017, the boys started to write what would become Motherbrain. Signing to Mascot Records, the group went from writing at Chris’ spot in Austin, TX to Marietta, GA where they holed up in the studio with Corey Lowery (Seether, Saint Asonia, Sevendust, Stereomud) for a month.  The producer’s direction to embrace the dark side took life, while Brandon delivered some of the most emotive recordings Crobot has delivered to date.

“I think it’s a much darker record, musically, lyrically, and thematically,” says the front man. “It’s some of the heaviest material we’ve ever done, but it’s also some of the funkiest. We’re widening the Crobot spectrum even more. It’s the catchiest too. It’s less about wizards and dragons and more about everyday turmoil and the struggles of life. Corey made it digestible and appealing for not just dudes with beards or chicks with dicks.”

Striking a delicate balance between hard-charging riffs, ass-shaking funk, and out-of-this-world reflective stage attire, the Pennsylvania quartet - Brandon Yeagley [lead vocals, harmonica], Chris Bishop [guitar, vocals], and Dan Ryan [drums], satisfy starvation for sonic sustenance on their fourth full-length and 2019 debut for Mascot Label Group, Motherbrain. James Lascu and Eddie Collins share the role of touring bassist for Crobot.

Crobot continue to fill a void. Since emerging in 2011, the group have quietly cemented themselves among the rising rock vanguard. Following the 2012 debut Legend of the Spaceborne Killer and 2014’s Something Supernatural, the musicians made waves with Welcome To Fat City in 2016.

Along the way, Crobot toured with the likes of Anthrax, Clutch, Volbeat, Black Label Society, Chevelle, Motorhead, The Sword, and more in addition to appearing on ShipRocked! and at numerous other festivals.

“When people hear this, I hope they say, ‘Yeah, that’s Crobot’,” the front man leaves off. “We want to maintain our identity from record to record. We always want to be genuine. It’s going to evolve, but it will always be Crobot.”

Tracklisting:

"Burn"
"Keep Me Down"
"Drown"
"Low Life"
"Alpha Dawg"

Video Premiere: BEHEMOTH's 'Sabbath Mater'

Video Premiere: BEHEMOTH's 'Sabbath Mater'

Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH have released the official music video for the song "Sabbath Mater" from their latest album, "I Loved You At Your Darkest".

"We bring you the new video for 'Sabbath Mater'," the band said. "The energy and vibe was made for performance and that's exactly what we accomplished in the video. Oh, and some ungodly imagery — it is a BEHEMOTH video after all. As always, we are fortunate to have the mighty Grupa 13 helping us to manifest our nefarious visions. Enjoy it and we'll see you very soon."

"I Loved You At Your Darkest" was released last October via Metal Blade Records in North America and Nuclear Blast in Europe.

Unlike "The Satanist", which was primarily recorded in one studio, "I Loved You At Your Darkest" saw its production spread across Poland and the United States. It was produced by the bandmembers themselves, with drum co-production by Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES), mixing by Matt Hyde (SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM) and mastering by Tom Baker (NINE INCH NAILS, MARILYN MANSON). Which is to say nothing of the 17-piece Polish orchestra arranged by Jan Stoklosa and engineered by Tomasz Budkiewicz.

BEHEMOTH will support SLIPKNOT on the "Knotfest Roadshow" headline tour of North America. Other special guests for the trek are VOLBEAT and GOJIRA. Produced by Live Nation, the 29-city outing will kick off July 26 in Mountain View, California at Shoreline Amphitheater and continue through September 8 where it will conclude with a performance at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas.

BLACK SABBATH To Release 'Vinyl Collection' With Bonus Rarities

BLACK SABBATH To Release 'Vinyl Collection' With Bonus Rarities

When Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward formed BLACK SABBATH in 1968, the quartet conjured a primal sound that was heavier, louder and more menacing than anything that had come before. The band recorded a series of metal masterpieces in the '70s that became the blueprint for heavy music and influenced generations of headbangers for years to come.

Rhino's new collection spans the Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers' first eight years with a nine-LP boxed set that includes 180-gram vinyl pressings of the band's eight studio albums from the era, along with a new mono singles collection. The set also comes with a seven-inch single featuring "Evil Woman (Don't Play Your Games With Me)" and "Wicked World", a single that wasn't originally released in North America. Also included in the set are reproductions of the original tour books from this era.

"Black Sabbath: The Vinyl Collection 1970-1978" will be available on September 6 for $249.98. The set will be produced in a limited, numbered edition of 3,000 copies. Pre-order is available here.

The collection brings together some of the most powerful metal albums ever recorded, including the band's eponymous debut (1970); the multi-platinum landmark "Paranoid" (1970); the platinum albums "Master Of Reality" (1971), "Vol. 4" (1972) and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" (1973); the gold-certified "Sabotage" (1975); plus "Technical Ecstasy" (1976) and "Never Say Die!" (1978)

These albums contain a long list of metal classics, like "Black Sabbath", "War Pigs", "Iron Man", "Paranoid", "Sweet Leaf", "Children Of The Grave", "Into The Void", "Changes", "Supernaut", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", "Never Say Die" and "Dirty Woman".

"The Vinyl Collection 1970-1978" also comes with "Monomania", a new compilation of mono versions for several key songs from the BLACK SABBATH catalog, including edited versions of "Iron Man", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and a previously unreleased edit of "Into The Void". In addition to mono versions of studio tracks, "Monomania" also features a radio ad released in 1970 to promote "Black Sabbath".

JOEY DEMAIO Says MANOWAR Has Filed A Lawsuit Against HELLFEST Organizers: 'We Don't Take S**t From Anybody'

JOEY DEMAIO Says MANOWAR Has Filed A Lawsuit Against HELLFEST Organizers: 'We Don't Take S**t From Anybody'

Joey DeMaio says that MANOWAR has filed a lawsuit against the Hellfest organizers over the cancelation of the band's concert at this year's edition of the French heavy metal festival.

In was reported on June 21 that MANOWAR's performance at the annual event in Clisson was called off just hours before the veteran metal group was supposed to take the stage.

The Hellfest organizers later issued a statement saying that the MANOWAR members "decided to leave the site" and insisting that the cancelation was caused by "reasons beyond our will."

MANOWAR later disputed Hellfest's version of the circumstances that led to the band's non-appearance at the event, claiming that the Hellfest organizers canceled the show after they "chose not to honor their contractual obligations."

Earlier today (Saturday, July 20), MANOWAR performed in Istanbul, Turkey, and DeMaio addressed the Hellfest dispute during a lengthy speech in the middle of the band's concert.

Speaking directly to the audience, the bassist said (see video below): "When people talk about MANOWAR leaving a concert and not playing for some stupid reason, they have their head up their ass.

"MANOWAR played out first show for seven people — seven! Okay? One of them was our manager; the other was a bartender. So if somebody says, 'MANOWAR, they have to have a big stage; they have to…' No. We have to have our people treated like they deserve. And we have to have a promoter that honors their agreements and their contracts and doesn't just pick and choose what they're going to do and what they wanna do. That's the fucking reality.

"We signed a contract in blood in 1983, and the reason I signed that contract is I wanted the world to know MANOWAR was the one band that will never fuck our fans and never play shit music or make the fans eat shit with bad sound, bad lights and without our equipment," he said. "That's the fucking reality.

"I didn't see any of these fucking promoters sign a contract in blood, but they're happy to talk shit about people.

'I wasn't invited to the Hellfest press conference — just so you know — but they will be invited to mine, because I want the world to know the fucking truth, exactly what happened over there. It was the promoters that caused every fucking problem — not MANOWAR."

DeMaio continued: "Now, I want you to think about something. We have played, just this tour, 30 different shows — 30. In 13 countries. We played a show in Israel; didn't have any problem. We played nine shows in Russia — no problem. One show in the Ukraine — no trouble. One show in Belarus, two in the Czech Republic, five in Germany, Denmark, four in Norway. We played to 650 people at the fucking North Pole in a city that has two thousand people and four thousand polar bears, okay? So don't tell me MANOWAR are fucking divas. We went there because we wanted to play for the people that lived there, 'cause they never had a heavy metal concert. We played four shows in Norway, two in England, one in Switzerland, one in Greece, one in Bulgaria, and we're here on stage tonight in Turkey. So you tell me who's wrong. You think it's MANOWAR that's wrong? One country, one fucking show out of all of these, and there's a problem. You tell me who fucked up.

"The truth of the matter is we have filed a lawsuit against Hellfest organizers," Joey added. "We don't fuck around. People try to fuck with our fans… Nobody's gonna push MANOWAR around. We're not gonna give our fans less than a hundred percent. We don't take shit from anybody. And yes, we would rather give a hundred percent or nothing. And I'm sorry that people traveled from all over the world. You have no idea how sorry I am, how sorry Eric [Adams, vocals] is, how sorry Anders [Johansson, drums] is, E.V. [Martel, guitar], our fucking loyal crew. We feel terrible. People flew from all over the fucking world to that place, and MANOWAR didn't play. But you know what? We're suffering for it, and the true fans will suffer along with us.

"I believe we will win this lawsuit, and when we do, we're gonna take some money and we're gonna find a country and we're gonna find a city in that country that will have us, and we're gonna play a free concert, and the whole fucking world is invited," DeMaio said. "You have my fucking word that that will happen. You can believe on behalf of myself, Eric, E.V. and Anders, and the MANOWAR crew — the loyal crew that we've had for 30 years — we will do what we say. And don't listen to these fucking ass-kissing motherfuckers on the Internet talk shit about MANOWAR and their rumors. None of those fucking assholes were even there. Do they have a copy of our contract? Were they backstage? Did they see what happened? No. They've got nothing better to do than play with their fucking little dicks and type on the fucking Internet and talk shit about people. But we're the band that showed up there with eight fucking trucks, or however many we had, ready to play. And guess what? We never canceled. Yeah, that's right. The announcement came from them, on their site. But it was nice for people to say we canceled so they wouldn't have to listen to the fans bitch. So maybe those people should ask these fuckers some questions about what really happened.

"I'm sorry to take your time with this, but the fucking truth must be told," Joey concluded. "And very soon this lawsuit will be made public. You can all go on the Internet and you can read it there yourselves. And everybody that pissed on us and pissed on you is gonan fucking eat shit when they see what the fuck really happened."

This past May, DeMaio said that the band was "not retiring," despite the fact that it announced its "final" tour more than three years ago. " I'm too young to retire," he told Bulgaria's Z Rock Radio. I'm like Peter Pan — I'm a boy in a man's body. I'm, like, 15 years old in my mind."

Back in May 2016, MANOWAR revealed that it would say "thank you", "farewell" and "goodbye" to its fans on a world tour that would be "bigger and beyond anything" the group had ever done.

MANOWAR released a new EP, "The Final Battle I", in March. Parts II and III of the trilogy will arrive at a later date, inspired by MANOWAR's adventures on the remainder of "The Final Battle".

ATREYU Announces Deluxe Edition Of 'In Our Wake'

ATREYU Announces Deluxe Edition Of 'In Our Wake'

ATREYU will release a deluxe edition of its latest album, "In Our Wake", on August 16 via Spinefarm Records. The new version will feature the original "In Our Wake" album, along with seven additional tracks. The bonus material includes B-sides from the sessions for both "In Our Wake" and 2015's "Long Live", along with alternate versions of the title track and "The Time Is Now" from "In Our Wake". The deluxe edition features completely redesigned artwork and a total of 19 songs.

"I'm excited for these songs to see the light of day," said drummer/singer Brandon Saller. "To us, these are songs that we loved, but didn't find a space within the album as a unit. To further that, we're excited to have some older material that only saw limited release be fully available for our fans. As for the re-imagined tracks from 'In Our Wake', this is something brand new to us and it was a really fun moment for us to re-think these songs. They turned into something special that we feel stand on its own."

"When the topic for the deluxe edition was introduced, my brain instantly exploded with fun avenues and ideas for re-developed imagery," said bassist Porter McKnight, who created the new packaging and imagery. "I wanted something that flirted with my original ideas for 'In Our Wake', but took them down a new and darker path. I chose to invoke a classic punk/black metal feel with this one, and even ended up drawing the cover by hand. It's always an honor and a pleasure to create something for this band."

ALICE IN CHAINS Vocalist/Guitarist WILLIAM DUVALL To Release 'One Alone' Solo Album In October

ALICE IN CHAINS Vocalist/Guitarist WILLIAM DUVALL To Release 'One Alone' Solo Album In October

ALICE IN CHAINS vocalist/guitarist William DuVall will release his debut solo album, "One Alone", on October 4 via DVL Recordings. The disc is a smoldering, all-acoustic affair. In contrast to the multi-layered sonic assault comprising most of his discography, "One Alone" is as sparse and intimate as it gets — part late-night confessional, part living room concert.

Said DuVall: "After three albums and numerous world tours with ALICE IN CHAINS, as well as creating the GIRAFFE TONGUE ORCHESTRA album (with Brent Hinds of MASTODON and Ben Weinman of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN), and, of course, my catalog of albums and tours with COMES WITH THE FALL, I felt the need to peel everything back to the bare bones. This album is strictly one voice, one guitar. It reveals the very core of who I am as a singer, guitarist, and songwriter."

The official video for the album's first single, "'Til The Light Guides Me Home", can be seen at VEVO.com.

"One Alone" track listing:

01. 'Til The Light Guides Me Home

02. The Veil Of All My Fears

03. The 3 Wishes

04. Strung Out On A Dream

05. White Hot

06. Still Got A Hold On My Heart

07. Smoke And Mirrors

08. So Cruel

09. Chains Around My Heart

10. Keep Driving Me Away

11. No Need To Wonder

Prior to joining ALICE IN CHAINS in 2006, DuVall was a member of punk rock bands AWARENESS VOID OF CHAOS, NEON CHRIST, BL'AST! and FINAL OFFERING. DuVall's long musical history also includes COMES WITH THE FALL and ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell's solo work.

Cantrell befriended the members of COMES WITH THE FALL in the early 2000s, playing shows with the band on the West Coast, then enlisting the musicians to tour with him as both opening act and backing group in support of his album "Degradation Trip".

DuVall appears on the last three ALICE IN CHAINS albums: 2009's "Black Gives Way To Blue", 2013's "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" and 2018's "Rainier Fog".

SAY NEVER Debut "Do It Again" Video

SAY NEVER Debut "Do It Again" Video

Atlanta based heavy rock band Say Never has released the official music video for their single, "Do It Again", (featuring Fozzy guitarist Billy Grey).

"Do It Again" is a positive, upbeat blue collar tune with a head bobbing tempo about letting loose and having fun with friends after a long hard week at work," says the band. "All of us can easily relate to this type of song, and we all know that feeling of happiness when the weekend rolls around. 'Do It Again' soars with its driving bass guitar, heavy drums, guitar tones that are dialed in just right and that feeling that it's party time so let's blow off some steam."

DIZASTRA Issue "Vae Victus" Music Video

DIZASTRA Issue "Vae Victus" Music Video

From the bowels of Satan's lair, Dizastra has come. Fans shall be massacred with their first full-length album, Elder Sun, coming later in 2019.

Following up the 2015 EP, Hell's Gate, Montreal based Dizastra summons unholy ferocity in their music, merging the sounds of black, thrash and melodic heavy metal to coagulate in a distinct sound.

"Vae Victus" is the first single from the upcoming album Elder Sun. The anthem to riding a dragon through Hades, this track combines all the elements of what makes heavy metal what it is. Bringing together shrieking vocals, pummeling drums, cosmic-threatening bass, and electrifying (literally) solos, "Vae Victus" rides triumph through listeners ears.

The video for "Vae Victus" demonstrates their meager budget and Tolkien level storytelling in a compelling tale of time travel and high adventure. Wizards, warriors, battle, and friendship all come together to dazzle viewers around the globe. Your steed awaits for a blasphemous sojourn into the abyss.

PHILIP ANSELMO Joined By MAX CAVALERA For 'Walk' Performance At DYNAMO METALFEST (Video)

PHILIP ANSELMO Joined By MAX CAVALERA For 'Walk' Performance At DYNAMO METALFEST (Video)

Max Cavalera (SEPULTURA, SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY) joined Philip Anselmo on stage yesterday (Saturday, July 20) at the Dynamo Metalfest in Eindhoven, Netherlands to perform the PANTERA classic "Walk". Video footage of Max's appearance can be seen below.

Last month, Anselmo spoke to Graspop Metal Meeting about his decision to play a number of PANTERA songs during the current European tour with PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS.

"Honestly, it was not even part of the gameplan until Vince [PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott] died," he said. "And then, after Vince died, it was, like, 'Ugh…' A lot of people got in touch with me, and they expressed, they said, 'Phil, if you were ever gonna do PANTERA songs, this would be the time.' And for the first time, I listened, because before, I was very hesitant to do any of that. But now it feels… I guess the tribute feels necessary.

"Some people ask me, 'Is playing those old songs, is it difficult? Does it bring up this memory or that memory?'" he continued. "It can, for sure, but that's why I concentrate on the young people in the audience going crazy, man."

Asked if there is "a measure of closure" in performing PANTERA songs live again after all this time, Anselmo said: "There's no closure — there's no closure — but I would say it feels very good to see this new group, young people enjoying the PANTERA songs. It feels great."

Pressed about what was so special about PANTERA that seemingly inspired generations of music fans and musicians, Anselmo said: "Every now and again in the history of whatever — music — there's a perfect storm, and I think PANTERA was a perfect storm for its time. And it's pretty obvious that the people that were watching us back in the '90s have procreated, and their kids have grown up listening to PANTERA. So it's the meeting of the generations, man. And the reason why it's important? I don't know. I don't know, man."

Up until his death in June 2018, Vinnie remained on non-speaking terms with Anselmo, whom the drummer indirectly blamed for the death of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, who was his brother.

Vinnie Paul and Dimebag co-founded PANTERA. When PANTERA broke up in 2003, they formed DAMAGEPLAN. On December 8, 2004, while performing with DAMAGEPLAN at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, Dimebag was shot and killed onstage by a troubled schizophrenic who believed that the members of PANTERA were stealing his thoughts.

Vinnie Paul died of dilated cardiomyopathy, an enlarged heart, as well as severe coronary artery disease. His death was the result of chronic weakening of the heart muscle — basically meaning his heart couldn't pump blood as well as a healthy heart.

Vinnie was buried on June 30, 2018 next to his brother and their mother, Carolyn, at Moore Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, Texas.
