Pitfalls was recorded with David Castillo at Ghostward Studios (Opeth, Katatonia), mixed by Adam Noble (Placebo, Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves, Deaf Havana). The cover artwork is a painting from Indonesian artist Elicia Edijanto.

"One Slip" (from the 2019 remix of A Momentary Lapse Of Reason) has just been made available from Pink Floyd’s forthcoming box set, The Later Years. Produced by Bob Ezrin and David Gilmour, this was remixed by Andy Jackson with David Gilmour, assisted by Damon Iddins.

On November 29, Pink Floyd Records will release Pink Floyd The Later Years, a 16-disc set (5xCDs, 6xBlu-Rays, 5xDVDs) covering the material created by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright from 1987 onwards.

The period generated record sales of over 40 million worldwide and included three studio albums: A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, The Division Bell and The Endless River as well as two live albums: Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse. With additional production from David Gilmour and Andy Jackson, over 13 hours of unreleased audio and audiovisual material, including the sought-after 1989 Venice and 1990 Knebworth concerts, Pink Floyd The Later Years is a must for all fans.

A multi-media, deluxe box set, Pink Floyd The Later Years presents an expanded view of the Pink Floyd story from 1987 to the present and kicks off with A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, the album that confirmed Pink Floyd as one of the world’s biggest artists.

The album, presented for the first time in 5.1, has been remixed and updated by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson. The release of The Later Years project gives an opportunity for a fresh overview of the A Momentary Lapse Of Reason album. By returning to some of Richard Wright’s keyboard parts and recording new drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin have restored the creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members.

Throughout 1987 and 1988 the band’s live shows became the largest-grossing concert tour ever to that date and produced the critically acclaimed, Grammy Award nominated, Delicate Sound Of Thunder. Filmed at the Nassau Coliseum in New York State, the concert shows the band on the top of their form. The concert has been fully re-edited and upgraded from the original 35mm film negatives by Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell and Benny Trickett and the sound remixed to 5.1. It also includes "Terminal Frost" and "Welcome To The Machine", two tracks that were not included on the original concert film release. For the first time the concert is available in 5.1 on Blu-ray and DVD.

Two of the most sought-after additions to Pink Floyd The Later Years are the 1989 Venice Concert, performed on a floating stage in front of St Mark’s Square, and the 1990 Silver Clef Winners performance at Knebworth. Both concerts, previously unreleased, are now available on both DVD and Blu-ray (145mins). The momentous Knebworth concert saw Pink Floyd topping the all-star bill (that included Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, Genesis, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Tears For Fears), in aid of the Nordoff Robbins charity, profits from which went towards setting up the BRIT School. David Gilmour and Andy Jackson have remixed the audio from this iconic concert and all seven tracks performed on the day (with guest musicians including sax player Candy Dulfer, the original The Great Gig In The Sky vocalist Clare Torry, keyboard player Michael Kamen and Sam Brown with her mother, Vicki, on vocals), are released here as well as for the first time ever on CD.

1994’s album The Division Bell sold over 12 million copies, having debuted at No 1 in the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. It stayed at the top of the US charts for 4 weeks, and also went to No 1 in six other countries. The resulting tour was captured and recorded for the concert release Pulse. This release contains the entire Pulse live concert film, re-edited and upgraded from the original masters, from the groundbreaking Earl’s Court gigs, and available for the first time on Blu-ray. Also uncovered for the first time is footage of the band in rehearsals on October 20, 1994 performing "A Great Day For Freedom" and "Lost For Words".

In 2014, Pink Floyd released The Endless River, comprising mostly instrumental and ambient music based on material recorded during The Division Bell sessions. Featuring David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, additional material was recorded in 2013 and 2014, with one song, "Louder Than Words", with lyrics by author & novelist Polly Samson (the primary lyricist for The Division Bell album). The Endless River became the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon UK and debuted at number one in several countries. The vinyl edition was the fastest-selling UK vinyl release since 1997. Included here for the first time is the never previously seen specially commissioned full 52-minute The Endless River film by Ian Emes, famed for his work with Pink Floyd, including his animations for "One Of These Days", "Speak To Me", "Time" and "On The Run".

Rounding off the package are hours of unreleased bonus materials including music videos, documentary footage, bonus live tracks, upgraded tour screen films and documentaries. It includes the first ever release, on Blu-ray, DVD and 7” vinyl, of the last live performance of Pink Floyd with David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright together in 2007. This special performance of Arnold Layne took place at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert at The Barbican on 10 May 2007. The full set boasts previously unreleased or remixed audio, plus restored, remastered and re-edited audio-visuals including unreleased concert footage and promo clips.

With the help of Nick Mason and the Pink Floyd archive, the box set comes with reproductions of tour artwork, posters, programmes, tour laminates, lyric book and much more including two 7” vinyl singles, (the live version of "Arnold Layne" performed at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert in 2007 and "Lost For Words" from the Pulse tour rehearsals at Earl’s Court), in new picture sleeves and etched image B-sides. Also included is a brand new 60-page hardback book of photos, designed by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis and Peter Curzon of StormStudios, including many previously unseen images.

The 5 CDs are encased in their own 40-page hardback book with an extensive guide to all content, tracklists and credits.

There will also be a 2-LP / 1-CD ‘Highlights’ package. It comes in a gatefold sleeve (for both 1-CD and 2-LP), and each will contain a 24-page booklet containing previously unseen and rare photos.

Tribulation in the flesh. Live on stage. In front of a seated audience. At one of Stockholm's oldest and most storied venues. Normally, this would be unceremonious, but for Alive & Dead At Södra Teatern, Tribulation's first live album, it was an event to behold, for the monsters were let out of their cages to run wild as the Swedes imparted death metal of distinction across two fearsome sets. Invited by ex-Nirvana 2002 vocalist and curator Orvar Säfström, who also bedeviled the audience as master of ceremonies, Tribulation treated their besuited Swedish legions to unrivaled dark magic at their first-ever Södra Teatern (Southern Theatre) main hall gig.

The band comments, "We finally got to play 'Strains Of Horror' again, something that's only happened a couple of times before because of the heavy use of organs in it. And like the times when we've played it before, we once again had the help from our good friend - and great organist - Sofia Rydahl! It's a song that goes back and forth between the serene dark depths and the wuthering heights, though it never quite enters those empyrean realms, luckily. It's a journey in a way and it constantly lingers within those brooding shadows, yet brooding shadows still have their beauty, and because of this we felt that this was the song that was going to end the whole thing. We also wanted to give the fans something other than the more predictable songs for this single, and we can only hope that you all concur!"

With All Hallows' Eve and the Day Of The Dead fast approaching, L.A.-based thrash/death/shred quartet Exmortus have unveiled a visualizer for the title track for their just-released horror-themed EP, Legions Of The Undead. Italian death metal force, Hideous Divinity, will release their fourth full-length album, Simulacrum, on November 8 via Century Media Records. Today, the band releases the third single "Seed Of Future Horror", along with this animated video:

Agnostic Front are back to the scene with their twelfth studio album, Get Loud!, which will be released on November 8 via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band release the  fourth album  trailer discussing the record process. Watch as they detail their experience working with Paul Miner to record the album, below.

Drummer Pokey Mo comments, "We really wanted to go for a raw, intense style; the way records were done 30 years ago, At that time, we didn't play to a click track. You had to capture a really good live performance or you didn't. It is simple as that."

Get Loud! was produced by Roger Miret while long time friend Paul Miner handled the recording, mixing and mastering of the record at Buzzbomb Studio in Orange, CA. For the artwork, the band returned to 1986's Cause For Alarm​ artist Sean Taggart. It features the iconic CFA​ characters combined with a modern freshness

Bridge Nine Records will release the Blu-ray edition of The Godfathers Of Hardcore, the critically-acclaimed, Ian McFarland-directed documentary, on November 15. The film is available digitally here.

The Godfathers Of Hardcore film is an intimate portrait about two of the most influential men in underground music - Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma of the iconic New York hardcore punk rock band Agnostic Front. For over 35 years, the duo has shared something inside they couldn't scream loud enough. Something they couldn't play hard enough. Something they couldn't stop, even if they wanted to. Agnostic Front is the combined roar from the hearts of two guys who have fought their whole lives, and whose pain, passion, and power helped ignite a movement.

Starting in the '80s on the streets of the Lower East Side, Agnostic Front rose to play a key role in defining, shaping, and establishing the sound and code of conduct for a still-thriving, now-worldwide culture. Today, Roger, 54, and Vinnie, 63 remain the very embodiment of hardcore, representing endurance, perseverance, brotherhood, strength against oppression and the will to keep going-obstacles be damned.

The Godfathers Of Hardcore has been on the festival circuit since November 2017 where it premiered at the DOCNYC 2017 Film Festival. It has been featured at over 15 festivals worldwide, selling out the majority of those screenings and winning multiple accolades and awards along the way.

Godfathers made its US/Canadian broadcast premiere on Showtime in December 2018 then on SKY in The UK in July 2019 and both networks are currently streaming and broadcasting the film. The film was released worldwide on iTunes, Google, Amazon, Vudu, and Vimeo On Demand, and in the first week of its release the film quickly rose to be #1 Music Film on iTunes and held that position for nearly two weeks.

The Blu-ray edition of the film features eight different language subtitle options and will be available in a standard case as well as a special version housed in a gatefold 7" jacket cover, with a bonus, seven song live recording from the Agnostic Front show Berlin that is featured in the film.

Professionally filmed video footage of METALLICA performing the song "The God That Failed" on July 9 at Ullevi in Gothenburg, Sweden can be seen below.

METALLICA will headline five major North American festivals next year, all of which are produced by Danny Wimmer Presents. The events are Epicenter, Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple Music + Arts, Louder Than Life and Aftershock. The band will play two separate headlining sets at each stop, with a unique setlist for each performance, resulting in 10 different shows.

These shows will be METALLICA's only U.S. festival appearances of 2020. The quartet will play on Friday night and Sunday night at each event.

To mark the 20th anniversary of METALLICA's first performance with the San Francisco Symphony, which resulted in the live "S&M" album and video, the band re-teamed with the symphony in early September for two shows for the grand opening of Chase Center, the new home of the Golden State Warriors.

A film of last month's concerts, called "S&M²", arrived in theaters worldwide on October 9.

QUIET RIOT's music video for the song "In The Blood" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming studio album, "Hollywood Cowboys", which will be released on November 8 via Frontiers Music Srl. The clip was inspired by spaghetti westerns like "A Fistful Of Dollars" and "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly".

"It was a fun video to film in period clothes, for both the band and actors," drummer Frankie Banali told Ultimate Classic Rock. "It was filmed on western-town locations in Agua Dulce, California. It is a homage to the spaghetti western genre films and especially those by director Sergio Leone. Director Regina Banali wrote it based on many spaghetti westerns and did a wonderful job directing it. She really crafted the acting performances and did beautiful work capturing the look and feel of those classic films. And, of course, all-American boys wanted to be Hollywood Cowboys! So we all had a blast."

Asked how "Hollywood Cowboys" differs from other QUIET RIOT LPs, Banali said: "This is the most diverse QUIET RIOT release. The songs run the gamut from straight-ahead balls-to-the-wall rock tracks to a blues song to double-bass-drum pedal-to-the-metal songs. There is a whole lotta grooves going on."

Banali previously told Canada's The Metal Voice about "Hollywood Cowboys": "My consideration always is — not because I have to, but because of the way I am — my first consideration when I'm writing something, and when I write together with my writing partner Neil Citron, is, 'Would [late QUIET RIOT singer] Kevin DuBrow like this?' And the greatest thing about Kevin is he was so open-minded and he had such a broad taste in music that there were very few things that he didn't like. For instance, on the [2006] 'Rehab' record, some of the things that Neil and I wrote Kevin really liked but it was not in his comfort zone, which is why we went out and had some of the lyrics co-written by Glenn Hughes. But, again, a lot of credit goes to Kevin, whereas I could play him a song and he would love it, and he would say, 'I don't know what to do with this.' But that did not make it impossible for it to be on the record. So that continues with the future QUIET RIOT studio release."

DuBrow died in November 2007 of an accidental cocaine overdose. He was 52 years old.

Banali resurrected QUIET RIOT in 2010, three years after DuBrow's death.

QUIET RIOT went through two vocalists — Mark Huff and Scott Vokoun — before settling on Jizzy Pearl in 2013. Pearl announced his exit from QUIET RIOT in October 2016 and was briefly replaced by Seann Nichols, who played only five shows with the group before the March 2017 arrival of "American Idol" finalist James Durbin. Last month, Durbin quit QUIET RIOT and was replaced by a returning Pearl.

YES has returned to the recordings made in late 2010 to mix the four completed tracks as new content for a miniature five-piece box set of recordings from that era.

The box features two booklets and three discs containing the four studio tracks and "Live From Lyon 2009", all of which were recorded by the lineup of Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White, Benoit David and Oliver Wakeman:

Oliver Wakeman has personally overseen the preparation of the previously unreleased recordings which were mixed by Karl Groom and mastered by Mike Pietrini.

The box and one of the booklets feature new artwork by Roger Dean, and the graphic design was undertaken by Oliver Wakeman, plus the set also includes his newly written liner notes about his time in the band.

The double CD album "Live From Lyon" was first released in 2010 and this edition restores "Second Initial", which was previously a Japanese-only bonus track. The booklet for "Live From Lyon" has been re-designed and expanded.

Steve Howe described the project: "Good music never goes away or lays down to the commercial pressures that exist. Oliver's compositions, 'To The Moment', 'Words On A Page' and 'From The Turn Of A Card', demonstrate his musicality and talents, while working together on its arrangement 'The Gift Of Love' explores the collaborative essence of YES, pooling ideas and then working together on its arrangement, whilst utilizing all of its many themes and variations. Karl Groom and Roger Dean both contributed their skills towards making this a worthy further 'page' in YES's long and diverse musical adventures."

Oliver Wakeman says: "Following Chris Squire's passing, I felt that the new music we'd created, but not released, should be heard and not sit unfinished on a shelf. And with Steve, Alan and Benoit's enthusiasm for the project, I am proud to know that this music will get to see the light of day and, hopefully, be enjoyed by YES fans as a piece of previously hidden YES history."

Alan White added: "I'm pleased to see a gem of YES history coming to fruition in the form of this mini box set. New songs from the past and I'm hoping we can find even more music in the archives for future releases."

The set is in stock now and exclusively available from the band's own Burning Shed store and it cannot be bought in the shops or on Amazon.

GHOST's current North American tour will wrap on October 26 in Glens Falls, New York.

The band's live set includes two new songs, "Kiss The Go-Goat" and "Mary On A Cross", which are both included on a new limited-edition seven-inch single, released last month.

GHOST is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Prequelle", which was produced by Tom Dalgety and originally released in on June 1, 2018. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award as "Best Rock Album", and for Sweden's Grammis award as "Best Rock/Metal Record Of The Year", and Dalgety received a Grammy nomination as "Producer Of The Year." Both Revolver and Kerrang! magazines named "Prequelle" the best album of 2018, and the album produced three Top 10 singles — "Rats", "Dance Macabre" (both of which went to No. 1 at Rock Radio) and "Faith". To date, "Prequelle" has accumulated some 250 million streams globally.

GHOST mastermind and lead singer Tobias Forge said in a recent interview that he has had the concept for the band's next album in mind for more than a year.

Forge performed as a "new" Papa Emeritus on each of the band's first three LPs, with each version of Papa replacing the one that came before it. Papa Emeritus III was retired in favor of Cardinal Copia before the release of "Prequelle".

Former BLACK SABBATH singer Tony Martin is rehearsing for upcoming shows with his band TONY MARTIN'S HEADLESS CROSS. Joining Martin for the sessions at RB Studio in Birmingham, England are Danny "Danté" Needham (VENOM) on drums, Dario Mollo (ex-GRAHAM BONNET) on guitar, Eddie George (ex-MAGNUM) on keyboards and Magnus Rosén (ex-HAMMERFALL) on bass.

Martin wrote on his Facebook page: "HEADLESS CROSS …. Ok... so I wasn't going to say anything yet but the guys have already posted about it so now I have to explain.... I have been rehearsing with my band to initiate the new keyboard player Eddie George. After the death of Geoff Nicholls it has been hard for me to fill the gap that will always be where Geoff stood... He was a big part of what I did with SABBATH and beyond... SO … to that end I spoke with Eddie George who was actually in a band with me many years ago called the ALLIANCE … he is a great player and friend. This was the first step to introduce him to the band and the music and the huge task of filling the role that I need to have on stage and potentially on recordings. … I need to give Eddie the space to feel comfortable with the role so I wasn't going to announce anything officially. In due course I will let you know more details of what we will be doing … that is if the guys DON'T POST IT FIRST!!!!!"

BLACK SABBATH released six albums with Martin on vocals: "The Eternal Idol" (1987), "Headless Cross" (1989), "Tyr" (1990), "Cross Purposes" (1994), "Cross Purposes Live" (1995) and "Forbidden" (1995). Eventually, Martin and his "Forbidden"-era bandmates were ousted when guitarist Tony Iommi reunited with SABBATH's fellow original members.

In a 2012 interview with Über Röck, Martin said that he was "surprised" to see Iommi criticizing him in the guitarist's "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath" book (referring to the Martin period, especially the touring phase following the release of "Cross Purposes" in 1994, Iommi lambasted his former singer as "unprofessional" and having "no stage presence"). Martin said: "I mean, they never said anything to me. Surely, if you've got a problem, the first person you should say something to is the person that's in the band with you... It sounds like a really stupid thing to say, as they didn't say anything to my face — and, if that's the case, then more fool them for not saying anything, because, you know, we could have fixed it. I said to them, endlessly, that if there was anything they wanted changed, done differently, just to say and we could fix it, but clearly, they didn't, they hadn't got the guts to, obviously, and to write about it in a book afterwards seems a bit daft to me. I'm not bitter about it, but it is surprising... It seems a bit stupid to say that after the event."

Three years ago, Iommi told I Heart Guitar that "it's a shame" that "it took a lot for people to accept" Martin as SABBATH's vocalist. "It's taken all these years later for people to say, 'Oh blimey, that was a good band with good singing.' So it took a long time to get people to really realize how good it was."

Last year, Iommi spent time in the studio remixing "Forbidden" for a 2019 release. The LP, which features Martin, drummer Cozy Powell and bassist Neil Murray, is often regarded as SABBATH's worst studio recording.

Martin's last solo album, "Scream", was released in November 2005 via MTM Music.

Church Of The 8th Day has uploaded video footage of NAPALM DEATH's entire October 23 and October 24 concerts at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, California. You can now watch it below.

NAPALM DEATH singer Mark "Barney" Greenway injured his right ankle earlier in the band's U.S. tour with SICK OF IT ALL and MUNICIPAL WASTE and was forced to play shows sitting down on a chair at the front of the stage. Furthermore, NAPALM's longtime bassist Shane Embury was unable to make the trek for reasons that haven't been disclosed. Filling in for him was Vernon Blake, a longtime friend and NAPALM DEATH roadie who has previously played guitar in the band ANARCHUS.

NAPALM DEATH's trek with MUNICIPAL WASTE, SICK OF IT ALL and TAKE OFFENSE kicked off on October 3 in Dallas, Texas.

NAPALM DEATH is continuing work on its long-awaited new album for a tentative early 2020 release. The follow-up to 2015's "Apex Predator - Easy Meat" will feature an appearance by guitarist Mitch Harris, who has been taking a leave of absence from NAPALM DEATH since late 2014 to focus on his family life.

Last year, NAPALM DEATH supported SLAYER on the second U.S. leg of the latter band's final world tour.

HIGHLY SUSPECT has released the song "Canals". The track is taken from the band's third album, "MCID", which will be released on November 1. The project is an adventurous new chapter for HIGHLY SUSPECT and spans across rock, hip-hop and pop, and includes collaborations with Young Thug, Tee Grizzley, GOJIRA and NOTHING BUT THIEVES.

"MCID" is based on inconceivable true-life experiences (and perceptions) narrated by frontman Johnny Stevens. In his own words: "The themes include self-loathing, substance abuse, image issues, addressing my past and changing my future, with a sprinkle of anti-Trump, false social media worship, heartbreak, hope, depression and suicide. There are also a few references to the pressures of fame and how I won't play into it."

The lead single, "16", is about a first love and a moment of instant heartbreak. The lyrics describe the true story of Johnny Stevens falling in love at 16 years old, fostering a relationship for seven years, and feeling elated when she told him she was pregnant with their baby. The song describes his instant devastation the moment of the birth when he found out that the baby wasn't his; the baby was a different race. Though a wild story, the lyrics capture the gut-wrenching feeling of first love lost, betrayal and regret.

"MCID". This is the slogan tattooed on bodies across the world, four letters that hold so much meaning, a mystery to anyone who is not in the know. HIGHLY SUSPECT members Johnny Stevens and twins Rich and Ryan Meyer had not only been playing music for eight years before topping radio charts, garnering Grammy nominations, and selling out tours — but they also had been gradually accruing a cast of comrades that orbited their star, friends and chosen family that would travel the world with them, move cross country with them, and become pet parents with them. The growing community of companions have a name, and it is "MCID".

Originally from Cape Cod, the three bandmembers played covers in dive bars and moved to a studio apartment in Brooklyn together. In 2015, they gained national recognition after the release of their debut album, "Mister Asylum", on 300 Entertainment and their singles "Lydia" and "Bloodfeather" topped the rock radio charts. The next year they performed at the Grammy ceremony, receiving two nominations for "Best Rock Album" and "Best Rock Song". In 2017 the band traveled to Bogota, Colombia to record their second album, "The Boy Who Died Wolf". It was released in November 2016 and the success of hits "Little One" and "My Name Is Human" earned the band a third Grammy nomination for "Best Rock Song."

And now the band is ready to release album three, a manifesto full of lead Johnny Stevens's private confessions, packed to the brim with themes of self loathing, body image issues, substance abuse, addressing his complicated past and trying to change his future. It's not surprising that his most vulnerable collection of songs is addressed directly to his chosen family, his followers, and his comrades — the title of the album is "MCID".

"MCID" is packed with surprise major hip-hop features, a collaboration with the metal band GOJIRA, some Swahili verses, and a lead single, "16", that is completely guitar free. Other standout songs are his collaboration with Young Thug on "Tokyo Ghoul", and "Canals", which captures his frustration with the Trump presidency, saying that his rage feels like "someone took a crack pipe, lit it with a torch light, and threw it on a gas line — there is fire everywhere."

"MCID" is not just the third full-length project from three guys who approach the rock genre with a hip hop ethos, but it's a family meeting and an apology from singer Johnny Stevens whose lyrics demand accountability from himself and urge him to be more honest and to conquer the demons that made him who he is.

The wait for the new album Procession Of Ghosts is almost over. To shorten the pre-release week, Dawn Of Disease drops a third single, “Where The Clouds Reach The Ground”, along with an official video. Once more the band proves its versatility mixing dark growls with catchy hooks, creating an atmosphere of sound which perfectly supports the lyrics and reflects the title itself - another impressive piece of melodic death metal.

Swedish blackened death metal outfit Rimfrost have revealed a new lyric video. It's a love letter of sorts to a great man, Jason Voorhees - hero of the Friday The 13th series. The song “Voorhees” is taken from their fourth full-length album, Expedition: Darkness, released earlier this month via Ferocious Records.

Expedition: Darkness is heavily inspired by the horror movie genre. "With this album we wanted to think outside the typical black metal box we've been put in and infuse even more of our own influences, both regarding music and our love for horror,” says Rimfrost bassist Khratos.

About the album Rimfrost’s drummer Trollv comments: "The heavy metal spirit is more prominent as well, in our eyes the hardest, toughest kind of metal you can get, with a mix of black and death metal. We tried a couple of new things and we think it turned out fucking amazing!”

After unveiling the second single from their debut album Abandon All Faith, "Nocturnal Vermin", as well as their two new live members - drummer Guido Zima Montanarini (The Secret, ex-Implore) and rhythm guitarist Sam Kelly-Wallace (ex-Vallenfyre) - Strigoi has now launched the second part of their album video trailer series, in which they talk about the production and lyrics of the record. As daylight breaks on November 22,  Strigoi shall rise from its crypt to unleash its debut album upon the world. With an approach that was as nihilistic and crusty as it was cinematically grand, Paradise Lost's Greg Mackintosh teamed up with former Extreme Noise Terror and Vallenfyre bass player Chris Casket to record a truly bone-crushing beast of old-school death metal.

The 12-song-debut was recorded and mixed at Greg's Black Planet Studio between January and March 2019.

Canadian deathcore pioneers, Despised Icon, are back with their sixth full length album, Purgatory, out on November 15 via Nuclear Blast. In this new video trailer, vocalist Alex Erian discusses the process of choosing the artist to create the album artwork. Watch as he details working with Eliran Kantor to produce a piece that echoed the themes and concepts of Purgatory:

Purgatory was produced by Yannick St-Amand, Eric Jarrin and Alex Erian. The music was recorded by Despised Icon's former guitar player, now current front of house engineer Yannick St-Amand while the vocals were recorded by close friend Antoine Lussier of Ion Dissonance. Mixing and mastering were completed by Cryptopsy's very own Christian Donaldson at The Grid in Montreal. For the album artwork, the band selected Eliran Kantor to create a piece that echoed the themes and concepts of Purgatory.

Without a doubt their most dynamic venture to date, Despised Icon have a fresh and energy filled arrangement just waiting to see the light of day in the form of Purgatory. For many years, they have laid the foundation of Deathcore and spearheaded different sounds and movements within the genre.

Promising to be one of the most ambitious projects in metal history, Blind Guardian’s upcoming release will be well worth the wait. The idea of recording an orchestral album originally formed in the minds of the two leading lights of the Blind Guardian universe - guitarist André Olbrich and singer Hansi Kürsch - during the 1990s when Blind Guardian started to use orchestral elements to enhance their opulent sound.

In recent years the giant project started to take shape, and parallel to its epic sound cascades, the lyrical concept was developed. For this, Blind Guardian was able to find support in German bestselling author Markus Heitz, whose latest novel Die Dunklen Lande was released on March 1 2019. The book is set in 1629 and contains the prequel to Blind Guardian’s opus Legacy Of The Dark Lands, which will be released November 8.

Frontiers Music Srl announce sthe release of The Murder Of My Sweet's fifth studio album, Brave Tin World, on December 6. Today, the band has unveiled the first video and single from the album, "Tin Soldiers". Watch the lyric video below, and stream the single and pre-order the album here.

Brave Tin World is yet another fantastic album where the band delivers a fine slice of cinematic/symphonic metal. Often compared to musical giants such as Within Temptation, Nemesea, and Delain, The Murder Of My Sweet are Sweden’s significant answer to those revered Dutch acts.

Musically, the band’s new album follows the path of their previous record, Beth Out Of Hell, with a more straight-ahead songwriting approach, while still offering the symphonic and cinematic elements the band is now well-known for. Brave Tin World showcases a Nordic sound that the members of the band grew up listening to and lyrically takes on issues in tune with our modern day life.

"It's a more relaxed and mature album,” says producer and drummer Daniel Flores. "We're currently in transition with our songwriting, trying to bring out our identity instead of our chops. Sonically, we've taken a step further too, concentrating on more details than before."

Debuting with the first single, “Tin Soldiers”, the band is truly stronger than ever. "The song seems like it's been growing in our heads for the past ten years. We just didn't know how to communicate it properly until now. It's sort of an adventure about a mature topic that is unfortunately still very much of an issue these days,” says singer Angelica Rylin.

With Angelica Rylin carrying the vocals with her smooth, powerful voice, the wall of sound supporting the vocals is provided by Christopher Vetter on guitar, Patrik Janson on bass, and Daniel Flores on drums and keyboards. It’s easy to close your eyes while listening to The Murder Of My Sweet and imagine you are listening to a movie soundtrack. It has that musical film production value that makes movies feel bigger than life, but translated to music.

Formed in 1987 in Hamilton and Niagara Falls, Ontario, Sven Gali brought the '80s and '90s hard rock / metal wave home to Canada. They delivered their high-energy live show from St. Johns to Victoria, and across the US and Europe for the next nine years. Back in March 2018 the band announced they had reunited; the 2018 lineup includes all three remaining original members: Dave Wanless (vocals), Andy Frank (guitar), Shawn Minden (bass) plus new drummer Dan Fila (Varga) and guitarist Sean Williamson.

The band released an official lyric video for their single, "Kill The Lies", in 2018. It entered the Top 10 on the CBC Music's Rock Charts.

Sven Gali built a name fast with their live shows; drawing growing crowds on the Canadian and US circuit while building their songwriting chops and a wild reputation. David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin) signed the band to BMG Music Canada in 1991 and produced the self-titled debut, released in 1992.

The album included singles and videos for "Under The Influence", "Tie Dyed Skies", "In My Garden", and the ballad, "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" (#6 CanCon song of 1993). It included a cover of Teenage Head’s "Disgusteen" featuring guest vocals by Frankie Venom. The video for "Under The Influence" won the MuchMusic Best Metal Video award in 1993. The band was nominated for Hard Rock Album of the Year and Most Promising Band at the Junos. Sven Gali went gold in Canada.

Sven Gali toured extensively throughout Canada and the USA, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and the UK, headlining and on the bill with acts including: April Wine, Foreigner, Candlebox, Pearl Jam and Def Leppard.

Their follow up album, Inwire (1995), recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, was produced by Kelly Grey (Candlebox, Brother Kane, Dokken) and featured guest musicians Christopher Thorn of Blind Melon, and Candlebox's Kevin Martin and Scott Mercado.

The band toured for the next year before disbanding in 1996.

It's been three years since RUNNING WILD wowed its fans with its latest album, "Rapid Foray". Three years in which a lot of water has passed under the metal galleys of time and the fans' requests for new songs have become more and more vociferous. To ease the wait so that his supporters won't have to hold out until early summer 2020, RUNNING WILD captain Rock 'N' Rolf has come up with a real masterstroke: on December 6 2019 — Saint Nicholas Day! — the band will release the EP "Crossing The Blades", featuring four brand-new tracks, including an exciting cover of the KISS classic "Strutter".

First of all, the focus is on the EP's opener, "Crossing The Blades", the official lyric video for which can be seen below. What's so special about this song is the fact that it's a harbinger of the next regular album, scheduled for release in summer, but will remain unique in its present incarnation. As Kasparek explains: "This version will only be available on the 'Crossing The Blades' EP. The album will feature a different version, completely re-recorded and with a number of little changes." The EP's second track is called "Stargazed" and should be familiar to a lot of Wacken Open Air attendees; after all, RUNNING WILD had presented the song exclusively at the 2018 edition of the festival, to an enthusiastic response. Number three is "Strutter", an homage to Rolf's first idols, of course in typical RUNNING WILD style and with a little more steam than the original. Last but not least: the new EP closes with "Ride On The Wild Side", which — thanks to its powerful pace and high compositional quality — would almost have made the shortlist for the upcoming album.

Thanks to its first-rate production and a number of exclusive features, these four songs are more than likely to make up the long wait until summer 2020 and the arrival of the next full album. At the same time, they will heighten the anticipation of RUNNING WILD's new material and their upcoming festival appearances.
