PINK FLOYD Legend DAVID GILMOUR Streaming “Faces Of Stone” Excerpt From Live At Pompeii Release; Video

PINK FLOYD Legend DAVID GILMOUR Streaming “Faces Of Stone” Excerpt From Live At Pompeii Release; Video

David Gilmour has released an expert of his performance of “Faces Of Stone”, featured on the new Live At Pompeii release (out now). Watch below:

45 years after Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour filmed Live At Pompeii in the legendary Roman Amphitheatre there, he returned for two spectacular shows that took place on July 7th and 8th, 2016, part of his year-long tour in support of his #1 album, Rattle That Lock. The performances were the first-ever rock concerts for an audience in the stone Roman amphitheatre, and, for two nights only, the 2,600 strong crowd stood exactly where gladiators would have fought in the first century AD.

David Gilmour Live At Pompeii is an audio experience on its own, while the audio-visual spectacle features lasers, pyrotechnics and a huge circular screen on which specially-created films complement selected songs. Paramount, however, is the incredible music: the show includes songs from throughout David's career, as well as many Pink Floyd classics, including “One Of These Days”, the only song that was also performed at the band’s 1971 show.

Both concerts also saw very special performances of “The Great Gig In The Sky” from The Dark Side Of The Moon, which David rarely plays as a solo artist. The 2-disc concert CD was produced by David Gilmour, and mixed by Andy Jackson and David Gilmour. The 148-minute concert film includes highlights from both shows, filmed in 4k by director Gavin Elder. DVD and Blu-ray versions contain an extra 7-minute documentary by Gavin Elder ‘Pompeii Then And Now’, while the Deluxe Blu-ray 4-disc box contains the 2xCD version, the 1xBlu-ray version, and a full 207 minutes of extra footage: 11 live performances and 5 documentaries, plus bonus collectables. Vinyl lovers can enjoy a deluxe 4xLP version in gatefold sleeves and a hardback slipcase, plus a 24-page photo booklet.

David Gilmour Live At Pompeii shows an artist at the top of his artistic game, performing incredible material with his world-class band, in a unique setting on one very special occasion.

GUNS N' ROSES' Summer 2017 European Leg Of 'Not In This Lifetime' Tour Rakes In More Than $112 Million

GUNS N' ROSES' Summer 2017 European Leg Of 'Not In This Lifetime' Tour Rakes In More Than $112 Million

GUNS N' ROSES leads the latest slate of ticket sales data reported to Billboard Boxscore with box-office grosses from nineteen shows during the summer 2017 European leg of the band's "Not In This Lifetime" tour.

Not counting GN'R appearance at the TW Classic festival in Werchter, Belgium, the group added $112 million in sold ticket revenue to the trek's overall gross that is now believed to approaching the $400 million mark since its April 2016 launch.

U.K. was the only market to offer two shows to fans. London Stadium sold a total of 139,267 tickets for concerts on June 16 and June 17. The $17.2 million gross at the London venue was the top grosser on the entire European run.

GUNS N' ROSES kicked off the European leg of "Not In This Lifetime" on May 27 in front of a sold-out crowd of 80,000 at Ireland's Slane Castle. That show surpassed the $8 million mark in ticket sales.

Pollstar reported earlier in the year that "Not In This Lifetime" tour was the most popular and highest-grossing global tour of 2017.

About seventy people travel with the show in addition to the truck drivers; that number goes upwards of five hundred, including the local workers, by show date once catering, security, etc. are factored in, according to the tour's production manager, Dale "Opie" Skjerseth.

GUNS kicked off its long-rumored and long-awaited reunion tour in April 2016 with a club show in Hollywood and appearances in Las Vegas and at California's Coachella festival.

The "Not In This Lifetime" tour features classic lineup members Slash (guitar), Duff McKagan (bass) and Axl Rose (vocals) backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Fank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and new second keyboardist Melissa Reese.

AUTUMNS EYES - Ending Life Slowly Album Due On Halloween; Studio Video Streaming

AUTUMNS EYES - Ending Life Slowly Album Due On Halloween; Studio Video Streaming

At the crossroad between a hallowed holiday and the cusp of a dead cold winter is where you’ll find Autumns Eyes mastermind Daniel Mitchell. After many seasons of seclusion and intermittently hitting the studio, the recording process has finally wrapped up for the new album, titled Ending Life Slowly.

Mitchell is no stranger to the darker side of creativity, and crafts music free of constraints or label interference. Ending Life Slowly strikes a balance between somber reflections on mortality and full-force screaming metal, with cover art to reflect the album's dreary nature crafted by Indonesian artist Sorrow Grips (Gojira).

Due out on October 31st, Ending Life Slowly serves as the first full-length album from Autumns Eyes since the 2012 release of Please Deceive Me. Halloween and the death of fall is a perfect time to be reminded that sometimes life ends far too slowly.

Mitchell had this to say about the impending album release: "Living in New England has always made it easy to draw from the month of October for creative inspiration, with life breathing its flaming colors into all the surrounding trees. Unfortunately, these themes can only be revisited every so often before it becomes repetitive. That’s why I reached into the month of November for inspiration. A time when Fall is still thriving, but where color has faded and the trees are bare as skeletons.

"While a walk through the woods here in October can be a relaxing activity, doing the same in November carries an overwhelming sense of dread. You’re surrounded by death, and the trees no longer sway and breathe with the air. They’re cold, stiff, bare, and knock together like bones breaking in the sky.

"This atmosphere is what fueled the writing process for Ending Life Slowly, with death and decay surrounding every element of each track. It’s a cliche topic to write about in heavy metal music, but my approach here was focused more on the immense weight death can hold over one's shoulders. To sit an truly contemplate what it means for all things to come to an end was a sobering experience to say the least.

"I always look at music as sonic therapy, but this was the one time where music couldn’t offer any kind of solace. It just reminded me that life can either go by too fast, or it can end too slowly."

Check out the album's artwork and tracklisting below, along with a video update from the studio released earlier this summer.

Tracklisting:

“Death Of October”

“Moments Into Memories”

HOOBASTANK Signs With NAPALM RECORDS, Completes Work On Sixth Album

HOOBASTANK Signs With NAPALM RECORDS, Completes Work On Sixth Album

HOOBASTANK has inked a deal with the Austrian indie label Napalm Records. The band's new album is scheduled for release in the first half of 2018. HOOBASTANK comments: "We're extremely thrilled about signing with Napalm Records and honored to be joining their roster of talented artists.

"For our sixth full-length album, we finally got to work with producer Matt Wallace (FAITH NO MORE, MAROON 5). We had been wanting to work with him for years and finally the timing was right.

"The writing and recording process was everything we could have hoped for. Matt challenged us and brought out different aspects of what we love about making music.

"We're excited for our fans to hear it and to make some new fans along the way. " Napalm CEO Thomas Caser also commented on the latest addition to the label's artist roster: "We are delighted to work with this iconic rock act and are looking forward to the band's new album which is scheduled for 2018!" In 1994, HOOBASTANK was founded in Agoura Hills, California. In 2001, HOOBASTANK attracted the interest of global player Island Records, which at that time was the home of acts such as NINE INCH NAILS, THE CRANBERRIES, PJ Harvey, PULP and Tom Waits, to name a few. HOOBASTANK released its debut album that same year. The music of these California youngsters worked really well during this time of fun sports, high-profile video games, and blockbuster movies. Being featured in the "Aggressive Inline" video game, the inline skate counterpart to "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Series", and contributing to the soundtrack of the motion picture "Daredevil" helped propel HOOBASTANK's career to a new level. Also, the release of their world-famous song "The Reason" from the self-titled album ended up being played in the final episode of the cult TV show "Friends" which helped gain much fan recognition. The song stayed at No. 1 for 21 weeks on the Canadian single charts, which broke a new record back then, and made it to No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The album would reach No. 3 on the Billboard 200 charts and hit Top 10 of many other countries' charts as well. To this day, HOOBASTANK has sold more than ten million albums worldwide, with over five hundred thousand subscribers to its YouTube channel, almost two million followers on Facebook, fifty thousand followers on Twitter and nearing that on Instagram, it's safe to say that HOOBASTANK is one of the true American rock acts of our time. HOOBASTANK has stayed active in the game, continuing to release successful albums. They have been featured in motion picture soundtracks and even contributed to Music For Relief in support of the Haiti earthquake crisis in 2010. Coming on board with Napalm will start the next chapter in the band's career. HOOBASTANK is:

Douglas "Doug" Robb - lead vocals, guitarDaniel "Dan" Estrin - lead guitarChris Hesse - drums, precussion, backing vocalsJesse Charland - bass, backing vocals

SWEET & LYNCH Featuring MICHAEL SWEET, GEORGE LYNCH: Third EPK For 'Unified' Album

SWEET & LYNCH Featuring MICHAEL SWEET, GEORGE LYNCH: Third EPK For 'Unified' Album

The third EPK (Electronic Press Kit) for "Unified", the sophomore album from SWEET & LYNCH — the band featuring guitarist/vocalist Michael Sweet of STRYPER, legendary guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB), bassist James LoMenzo (MEGADETH, WHITE LION, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY) and drummer Brian Tichy (THE DEAD DAISIES, WHITESNAKE) — is available below. The disc will be released on November 10 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Says Sweet: "George and I couldn't be more excited about this album! We've worked very hard to bring you the best of both worlds — a throwback of the chart-topping STRYPER/DOKKEN days yet with a modern production that fits right in with anything out there now in the rock world today.

"We couldn't be more proud than to be working with Brian Tichy and James LoMenzo again as they are the best rhythm section you'll ever hear.

"If you liked SWEET & LYNCH I, you're going to love 'Unified'."

"Unified" track listing:

01. Promised Land02. Walk03. Afterlife04. Make Your Mark05. Tried & True06. Unified07. Find Your Way08. Heart Of Fire09. Bridge Of Broken Lies10. Better Man11. Live To Die

Michael previously said that SWEET & LYNCH was formed when Frontiers president Serafino Perugino approached him "to sing and write for what [Serafino] was referring to as a 'supergroup' project — (one of the first) that Frontiers would be putting together and releasing. I was, of course, not only intrigued by the idea but also humbled that he would ask me! Jon Levin [DOKKEN] was suggested as the possible guitarist and I suggested to Serafino getting the man himself, Mr. Scary [George Lynch] involved. Serafino was, of course, excited about the idea. Frontiers has told me how happy they are with my production on the new STRYPER albums, so I immediately suggested producing as well. Serafino also agreed. I contacted George [as soon as possible] and he quickly agreed to be a part of this exciting project. It was decided that he and I would co-write everything together and that I would produce."

Sweet, who is a devout Christian, also talked about his working relationship with George, who considers himself to be a freethinker/atheist.

"You may ask how does an atheist and a Christian work together in a band situation? The answer is respect. Although I don't agree with George's spiritual/religious views (and he doesn't agree with mine, assumedly), we respect each other as musicians, friends and human beings.

"I'm free to do many things with the hope that maybe, just maybe, my life might have a profound effect on people I come in contact with.

"I've spoken with George many times over and he always strikes me as a genuine soul and someone who cares for and loves people. Bottom line? He's a great guy and I'm proud to be a part of this with George.

"Although we don't see eye to eye in our beliefs, we respect each other enough to not let that come between us."

Lynch concurred, telling Antihero Magazine: "There could potentially be a conflict there between Michael and I, and we've talked about that. I'm sort of a freethinking atheist, and he's a born-again Christian. I've been through that in my life; I was a born-again Christian at one point. I was the guy knocking on your door handing out tracks. I played in a Pentecostal charismatic band that did revivals… tent revivals in black neighborhoods in South Central L.A. — yeah, all kinds of stuff. I definitely have something to say about all that, but I don't know how effective I am at it. I'm not RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. I wish I was."

SWEET & LYNCH's debut album, "Only To Rise", was released in January 2015 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Former METALLICA Bassist JASON NEWSTED Selling Montana Ranch For $5 Million

Former METALLICA Bassist JASON NEWSTED Selling Montana Ranch For $5 Million

According to the Los Angeles Times, former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted has listed his ranch in historic Sula, Montana for sale at $4.95 million.

The property, named "Rockin JN Ranch," has belonged to Newsted for more than a decade. The 545-acre gem is situated amidst an ocean of public lands and large holdings. A custom timber frame home with over 5,800 square feet was completed in 2006 and is perched atop a ridge. Huge panes of glass absorb the 360-degree views. A towering stone Rumsford-style fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room and is only one of several. Exquisite woodwork is found throughout and one entire wall on the lower level is from the Gibson guitar factory. The terrain itself is comprised of gentle topography perfect for hiking or horseback. Other improvements include manager's home and shop.

The 54-year-old Newsted in February 2014 canceled an appearance at Australia's Soundwave festival with his band NEWSTED, citing "private and personal circumstances." The cancelation followed more than a year of intense touring and promotional activity surrounding the release of NEWSTED's "Metal" EP and follow-up album, "Heavy Metal Music", both of which were positively received by the critics and fans alike.

After staying mostly out of the public eye for a couple of years, Newsted rejoined Canadian metal innovators VOIVOD on stage during June 2016 concert at Slim's in San Francisco, California. He has since formed a couple of new acoustic projects, one of which completed a short West Coast tour last September.

Jason left METALLICA back in 2001 but was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, along with guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett, and the man who replaced him, bassist Robert Trujillo, in 2009.

HARDCORE SUPERSTAR: 'Have Mercy On Me' Single And Video Out Now

Fresh off a successful summer of high-profile festival appearances, Gothenburg, Sweden-based rockers HARDCORE SUPERSTAR have headed back into the studio to put the finishing touches to the first single from their highly anticipated new album, "You Can't Kill My Rock 'N' Roll", that is scheduled for release in the spring of 2018. "Have Mercy On Me" has been released to coincide with the band's upcoming co-headline tour of Europe with FOZZY and this new single is bursting with the classic HARDCORE SUPERSTAR sound... loud, aggressive and hard hitting with big drums and an even bigger chorus. "Have Mercy On Me" is destined to quickly become both a fan favorite and a regular part of HARDCORE SUPERSTAR's explosive live show. "Have Mercy On Me" is available on all digital platforms and as an exclusive, limited-edition twelve-inch vinyl single. The B-side on the vinyl single is "Next Please", a demo from the writing sessions for "You Can't Kill My Rock 'N' Roll".

HARDCORE SUPERSTAR singer Joakim "Jocke" Berg told World Metal Domination this past summer that "the energy level" during the band's live performances "is high because of the love for the music. I mean, sometimes we are tired like everybody else, but when you go up on that stage, something happens to your body," he explained. "I remember several times when I have been so tired or had a little to much to drink the day before and almost had to beg someone to drag me up on stage. But when the intro is on, something happens to your body; it feels like somebody slapping you in your face, and then you all of a sudden get your strength back and you become Superman!"

PESTILENCE To Release 'Hadeon' Album In March; Cover Artwork Unveiled

PESTILENCE To Release 'Hadeon' Album In March; Cover Artwork Unveiled

Veteran Dutch extreme metallers PESTILENCE will release their new album, "Hadeon", in March via Hammerheart Records.

The cover artwork for the disc, which can be seen below, was created by Santiago Jaramillo from Triple Seis Design (LOCK UP, DYING FETUS, INQUISITION). The concept is based on a multi-layered reality, alien presence and negative frequencies.

Following up the reissues of PESTILENCE's classic Roadrunner albums on deluxe two-CD and high-quality LP, the band is preparing for worldwide domination in 2018.

Aside from intensive touring around the globe, the main focus will be on the eighth studio album. "Hadeon" is an all-out death metal attack, featuring thirteen tracks that combine PESTILENCE's old-school roots, its progressive trademark and a killer production, which will appeal to both old and new fans.

Joining vocalist/guitarist Patrick Mameli in PESTILENCE's current lineup are Slovenian bassist Tilen Hudrap (VICIOUS RUMORS, PARADOX, THRAW), lead guitarist Santiago Dobles (AGHORA) and drummer Septimiu Hărşan (DISAVOWED).

In July 2014, Mameli announced that PESTILENCE was "on a permanent hold" while he concentrated fully on his new NEUROMORPH project, which he said would be "more brutal, more crazy, more tech, more futuristic and more death" than his longtime outfit. Two years later, he revived PESTILENCE, initially claiming that the band would only play live shows and not record any new material.

PESTILENCE is:

Patrick Mameli - Lead guitar/Vocals Santiago Dobles - Lead guitar Tilen Hudrap - Bass Septimiu Hărşan - Drums

Former SCORPIONS Drummer JAMES KOTTAK Plots Possible KINGDOM COME Original Lineup Reunion

Former SCORPIONS Drummer JAMES KOTTAK Plots Possible KINGDOM COME Original Lineup Reunion

Former SCORPIONS drummer James Kottak says he's in discussions with singer Lenny Wolf for a reunion of the original lineup of '80s rockers KINGDOM COME, a band perhaps best known for its uncanny musical resemblance to LED ZEPPELIN. Kottak played on the band's first two albums, 1988's "Kingdom Come" and 1989's "In Your Face" before leaving the same year. Kottak went on to play on MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP's 1992 "MSG" album before joining SCORPIONS in 1996.

In a recent interview with Jade from Shut Up & Rock On, Kottak was asked how he got to know the members of SCORPIONS before joining. "KINGDOM COME, when our album came out in 1988, we got on the 'Monsters Of Rock' tour," he said (hear audio below). "That was VAN HALEN, SCORPIONS, DOKKEN and METALLICA. We were the opening band. We went on about 1:45 every day. KINGDOM COME and SCORPIONS were on the same record label at the same time, so we always stayed at the same hotel with them. We had quite a few dinners together. The 'Monsters Of Rock', we only played three days a week, so there's a lot of hanging out time so you get to know each other quite well, that was over a three-month tour. Then we did an indoor arena tour, KINGDOM COME opening for SCORPIONS, for like, twenty shows. You get to know people and blah, blah, blah. A couple of years later, I did an album with Michael Schenker and Robin McAuley, the 'MSG' album, and rock and roll is a really small world. Years went by and one day the phone rang in 1995, it was their manager going 'So, James, I manage the SCORPIONS and they're interested in seeing if you want to come over to Germany and have a play.' I went 'Sure!' I went over and we picked up where we left off. Also, the producer, Keith Olsen, I did probably fifteen, sixteen albums with him as a drummer appearing on other people's albums, plus he produced KINGDOM COME. SCORPIONS did 'Crazy World' with him, so I'd drop by the studio and visit with him. I said to the manager, 'What made them think of me?' He said 'They remembered you were a very nice guy. And also you were a very good drummer.' I go 'That's great to hear, man.' So you never know. I played on some tapes and stuff and I flew over. The rest is history. I was so fortunate, so lucky, so thankful for the opportunity. Twenty-one years I was with SCORPIONS. I have no regrets. I'm still really good friends with them."

Kottak was then asked about his time in KINGDOM COME, which was highlighted by singles "Get It On" and "What Love Can Be", catapulting their 1988 self-titled debut album to platinum status in the United States:

"I'm so proud of those first two albums," said James. "I co-wrote on both of them on a few songs. They're just great albums. The songs are great. Lenny's incredible. We just killed it. On that note, I'm actually talking to Lenny in hopes we can, next year, do a KINGDOM COME — I don't want to call it a 'reunion,' but a KINGDOM COME 'regroup' because it will be the thirtieth anniversary of our debut album. I know we've never done this. The original five [members] are available and we were actually going to do this around 2012-13, but as you know, SCORPIONS said farewell and changed their mind and we continued on. So I had to put that on the backburner. Now, we're talking and we'll see what happens. I love that. I love the music and the people. Lenny's great, the whole band is great. We'll see what happens."

Kottak was asked what he had in mind for a hypothetical KINGDOM COME reunion. "We would definitely do some shows, maybe do as many festivals and in between the festivals, do some House Of Blues [shows]," he said. "We've never toured in this capacity. There's been a lot of demand for it. Especially when you have the original five, that's what special about it. You have interchangeable people all the time in all these bands, so we'll see what happens. We're just in the planning stages. Hopefully it happens and maybe it won't. You never know."

The LED ZEPPELIN comparisons dogged KINGDOM COME throughout their '80s peak, in particular, Wolf's vocal resemblance to ZEPPELIN singer Robert Plant and the band's penchant for blues-based hard rock, a style ZEPPELIN helped pioneer. Kottak was asked how he felt about these ongoing claims. "If you're going to be accused of something, at least rip off the best," he said. "It was just great music. My drumming compared to [legendary ZEPPELIN drummer] John Bonham? Thank you, I'll take it. I think some of the responses from a couple of the guys in the band maybe misled people.

"The press is so funny when a band comes and they get huge really fast. They love to knock them down, some press people do. Sometimes the press won't. It's like, good news travels fast, but bad news travels faster. That's what happened to KINGDOM COME. The same thing happened to QUIET RIOT in the early days. It's what it was. I'm super-proud of this stuff. I never had a problem with it. Call us 'ZEPPELIN rip-offs.' Who cares?

"Before I even went to audition, I got this tape and these four songs were on there. It was just Lenny with his drum machine and him singing. I went, 'Oh my God! This is phenomenal.' I listened to the tape three times in a row. It was 'Get It On' and 'What Love Could Be' and '17' and some other song. I was just going 'This is great!' If anything, '17', if you listen to STP's [STONE TEMPLE PILOTS] 'Vasoline', it's a complete rip-off of '17'. It's the exact same riff. It goes round and round. Who cares? It's just rock and roll."

After its early run of success in the '80s, KINGDOM COME released several albums, with Wolf remaining the only constant member of the band. The group's most recent effort is 2013's "Outlier".

Last September, Kottak was dismissed from SCORPIONS during his well-publicized battle with alcoholism and was replaced by former MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee.

OZZY OSBOURNE Says He Has 'About Seven Songs' Written For Next Solo Album

OZZY OSBOURNE Says He Has 'About Seven Songs' Written For Next Solo Album

Ozzy Osbourne was interviewed on the September 24 edition of "Whiplash", the KLOS radio show hosted by Full Metal Jackie. You can now listen to the chat using the widget below. A few excerpts follow.

Full Metal Jackie: When it was announced that Zakk Wylde was playing with you again — [it was] such exciting news. He's sort of been your go-to guitarist for much of your career. What makes the two of you work so well together?

Ozzy: "Well, I first met Zakk… It's gotta be thirty years [ago], [or] twenty-five. But when Jake E. Lee and I [went our separate ways], I went on a quest to find another guitar player, and I must have had ten thousand resumes and tapes sent in. Believe it or not, the only one I picked up was Zakk Wylde. My wife said to me, 'You've gotta go through these,' and I said, 'I can't go through ten thousand. That would be insane after the first hundred.' So the only one I really looked at was Zakk Wylde, and he had a photo, and I thought, 'Oh, another Randy Rhoads clone.' So when I met him, we just hit it off. It's not like having a bandmember so much as a family member — I mean, we're like family, you know. It was inevitable that Zakk would do his own thing eventually, but we have always remained very close friends — we talk to each other, go out socially from time to time. But I have just done a few gigs over the last couple of months, [and] his playing has improved unbelievably. My jaw dropped at how good he's got. He's really come on since I have been playing with him before.

Full Metal Jackie: He's an unbelievable guitar player. It's amazing to watch.

Ozzy: "I'm onstage at a show… We did a show when the eclipse happened the other week, on the eclipse, somewhere in America, I don't know where it was. But he was playing, and I thought, 'Is that him?' I mean, his speed is mindblowing; he is so fast with his fingers on the fretboard."

Full Metal Jackie: And he's hilarious.

Ozzy: "He is a great guy. He's family."

Full Metal Jackie: Ozzy, BLACK SABBATH played its final show [in February]. Now that it's sort of sunk in, what will you miss about SABBATH?

Ozzy: "Well, you know, it's not that I will miss… I mean I was out of SABBATH thirty-five years, 'cause Ronnie James Dio replaced me in 1979. So the one thing that I'm happy about is that we all became friends again. I mean, it's kind of like a fairytale come true, how I got started off [with] an interest in music when I first heard THE BEATLES and I wanted to be a Beatle, you know. So I went to school with Tony [Iommi], same school as Tony, I was in a band with Geezer [Butler]. It was just one of those things, rags to riches, our lives were forever changed. It was like we ended the SABBATH thing in Birmingham, where we started in England, and it was a very emotional time for me, 'cause we had gone full circle. I believe there is a video of the last show. It would have been nice to end it next year; we would have been around for fifty years. But I'm not retiring. I mean, how can you retire from anything [like that]? It's not a job. You don't have to work with someone that you don't really wanna be around or do any job just for the paycheck. It's fun."

Full Metal Jackie: You still enjoy it?

Ozzy: "Oh, absolutely! I live for it. I can't imagine [not doing it], you know."

Full Metal Jackie: What do you think you would have been doing if you were not Ozzy Osbourne from BLACK SABBATH?

Ozzy: "I would probably be either dead or in prison — or both! [Laughs]"

Full Metal Jackie: You touched on THE BEATLES earlier and I know you're a huge BEATLES fan. What did you learn from music by listening to THE BEATLES?

Ozzy: "Well, they always had great melodies, you know what I mean? I mean, I appreciate hip-hop — there's no melody — but the lyrics to a lot of the hip-hop songs, I'm going, 'Why can't they put a melody to it?' It's just the thing now with hip-hop. But THE BEATLES always had great melodies. Some of the lyrical content, I go, 'What does that mean?' But the melodies were the thing that got me."

Full Metal Jackie: "The Scream" record came out six years ago. What's the plan for another Ozzy album and is Zakk Wylde going to be a part of it?

Ozzy: "I've got a bunch of songs written. But you don't sell records anymore. [It's] not cost effective to make a record. I haven't really thought about it, because I've been doing the BLACK SABBATH thing. We did make a BLACK SABBATH record with Rick Rubin, '13', which was our first No. 1, both solo and with BLACK SABBATH, ever in America. When I'd be doing my solo thing, [when we toured with] METALLICA [thirty years ago] and I'd go past their dressing room and they'd be playing BLACK SABBATH. I'd say to my assistant, 'Are they taking the piss? Are they winding him up?' I suddenly started to realize that people were serious about how they were influenced by BLACK SABBATH stuff. 'Cause when you're on the inside looking out, you don't realize this. It kind of took its own spin."

Full Metal Jackie: You have to, obviously, at this point, recognize what a footprint BLACK SABBATH has made on everything.

Ozzy: "Oh, yeah! The original BLACK SABBATH, with me, Bill [Ward] and Tony and Geezer, we didn't know back in the '70s what we were doing. 'Cause we got ripped off by every manager under the sun we had. But our lives were forever changed."

Full Metal Jackie: Did you ever think that this many years later that BLACK SABBATH would be in the history books and that you guys would be touring this many years later?

Ozzy: "None of us had any idea. But Tony Iommi is the world's greatest heavy metal writer of the riff. Considering he plays with his fretboard fingertips, which are fake, cause he had them chopped off in a factory, he's a great guitar player."

Full Metal Jackie: You have such a remarkable career and live an extraordinary life. What would have surprised you most if someone predicted this life when you were a kid?

Ozzy: "I would have never believed it. I remember when BLACK SABBATH's first album got in the charts and I remember thinking, 'I'll be all right for a couple of years.' And here we are forty-nine years later, I'm still doing it. So I just do what I do. I don't know what the answer to the question is. If [someone] would have said [all those years ago], 'This is [what] your life [will be like],' if somebody had predicted it, I would never have believed it. Fifty years next year it will be."

Full Metal Jackie: Your music defines hard rock and heavy metal. What are you most proud of about your music?

Ozzy: "When you write something, you kind of know when you're on to something good. On certain albums I've done, I [had what I] call filler tracks to finish the album up. And it's the surprises that come. I never intended to play one of these filler tracks live, but many kids will come and go, 'Why don't you play so-and-so and so-and-so?' And I go, 'Why? You like that?' It's kind of like, when a lot of other people like your good idea, it's a bonus, but then you've gotta watch it, 'cause your ego gets in the way. Over the years, I've seen so many big, fantastic bands and artists come up, and I remember going, 'We ain't gonna see the end of this. We're done.' And then they'd fall off and we'd carry on. It's just an amazing career I've had. I can't put it into words. I've always said if my career dwindled to the point where it's five drunks in a bar and I'm playing in there, I'd have pulled the plug a long time ago. But while I'm still doing it, it's great, it's fun. I'm sixty-nine in December. I don't feel sixty-nine, and I don't know how a sixty-nine-year-old guy is supposed to feel. I'm [still] feeling young."

Full Metal Jackie: I think it's amazing that you've done it for this long and you still have passion for it and you still love it.

Ozzy: "Believe it or not, I still get incredible stage fright. I've only got one voice and if that goes out, I'm done. Okay, some nights I stand there and I go, 'Oh, I'm not so good tonight; I'm not feeling good.' And somebody will come up to me and go, 'Ozzy, you're getting better with age.' And other nights, I go, 'I'm having a great time tonight.' And someone will come up and go, 'You were all right tonight.' So my perspective is sometimes way off track. I just like to give people fun. And whatever it takes without going bizarre and defecating on the stage or whatever — well, I wouldn't do that anyway. But when I do a bad show, I get really upset, because I was once one of them guys that [had] a [regular] job and saved my pennies to see a band. And it's a responsibility I have to give them the best show I can. But I get tired, I get a cold, a flu, but I try my best. I don't go, 'Wow, I've been doing it forty-nine years, fifty years, and I can sing them anything.' I really have a lot of respect for my audience."

Full Metal Jackie: As someone who has seen Ozzy and BLACK SABBATH shows forever and never once have I walked away without saying, "Oh my god. That was amazing and it was so much fun."

Ozzy: "That's what I try to give. I'm still that guy in the crowd that wants to get turned on. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not so good, but I try to give them my honest hard work.

Full Metal Jackie: That is evident for anyone who has seen you perform. Looking forward to potentially new music, maybe next year?

Ozzy: "I've got about seven songs. One's called 'Mr. Armageddon', one's called 'Crack Cocaine'."

Full Metal Jackie: Is there gonna be a proper Ozzy tour next year as well?

Ozzy: "Ask the boss, my wife."

"Whiplash" airs every Sunday night from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on the Los Angeles radio station 95.5 KLOS. The show can be heard on the KLOS web site at 955klos.com or you can listen in on the KLOS channel on iHeartRadio.

MICHAEL AMOTT On Not Writing With JEFF LOOMIS: 'He Has A Great Style, But It's Not Really ARCH ENEMY Style'

MICHAEL AMOTT On Not Writing With JEFF LOOMIS: 'He Has A Great Style, But It's Not Really ARCH ENEMY Style'

ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott was recently interviewed by Greece's Rock Pages. The full chat can be streamed below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET):

On not including guitarist Jeff Loomis in the writing process for new album "Will To Power":

Michael: "I write all the music with Daniel [Erlandsson], our drummer, like I've done for many years. I co-wrote one a little bit with my brother as well, Chris. Like the ballad, 'Reason To Believe', came out of a jam with my brother. Jeff has a great style, but it's not really ARCH ENEMY style. He's got a great style. I really, I'm one of the original NEVERMORE fans. I've toured with them back in the day before anybody really listened to NEVERMORE. I had their demo tapes before they made albums. That's how far I go back with them. But, it's just a different style of writing. It's very dark, very progressive. And I think it's really fucking cool, but it's not really ARCH ENEMY style… at this time."

On the band's continued growth:

Michael: "We've had an interesting career, in a way that every album has been bigger and bigger for us, but it's been quite slow. We made a few big jumps, like, between 'Burning Bridges' to 'Wages Of Sin', we made a big jump... and then after 'Doomsday Machine', we made a big jump in America. Some albums have been more popular in Japan. You can't please everybody. But we've had a very consistent career, and [we've] been lucky enough to grow a solid fan base, a very solid fan base, all over the world. I like all the albums — they all tell their own story; they have their own place in our history as a band. The new album has been going down very, very well; the reactions are phenomenal to 'Will To Power', but I think that's coming off the back of a huge world tour for 'War Eternal', which was close to three hundred concerts all around the world. There's not a lot of bands that do that. Now we have a really strong fan base, and we have an exciting element with Alissa [White-Gluz] fronting the band — she's phenomenal — and great music behind it, of course."

On what White-Gluz brings to the band:

Michael: "With Alissa, we have a singer who's got a phenomenal — there comes that word again — voice, both clean and brutal vocals. She can do both, and when you have that in your tool belt as a band, why not use it? I don't think we'll ever be a band that focuses mainly on clean vocals. I think we'll always have a heavy, extreme edge to the band. The band has always had a lot of melody. Even on the first albums, there's a lot of melodies, but it's primarily coming from the guitars. The way I write, there's a lot of melodic guitar work, and the vocals have been kind of brutal. Now, there's some things changing, so we can have some melody in the vocal, and just change things around a bit."

"Will To Power" was released on September 8 via Century Media. Co-produced by Amott and Erlandsson, the disc was mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator and friend Jens Bogren (OPETH, AT THE GATES, DIMMU BORGIR). The album's cover artwork was designed by Alex Reisfar.

"Will To Power" marks the second ARCH ENEMY album since the departure of longtime singer Angela Gossow and addition of White-Gluz. It will also be the first ARCH ENEMY disc to feature Loomis, who joined the band in late 2014.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Singer is 'Pretty Excited' About Deluxe Version Of 'The Stage'

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Singer is 'Pretty Excited' About Deluxe Version Of 'The Stage'

AVENGED SEVENFOLD singer M. Shadows spoke to Meltdown of the WRIF radio station about the December 15 release of the deluxe version of the band's critically acclaimed album "The Stage" (Capitol). This new edition features seven additional studio songs plus four previously unreleased live tracks recorded during the band's recent shows at The O2 arena in London. Among the seven bonus cuts is the band's stunning cover of the PINK FLOYD classic "Wish You Were Here", which was released last two weeks ago.

"We recorded all these songs a year ago, but I've gotta say releasing it right now just seems like a good time when the world kind of needs something like this, with all the terrible things that have been going on," M. Shadows said about tackling the PINK FLOYD track.

Regarding AVENGED SEVENFOLD's decision to reissue "The Stage" fourteen months after the album's original release, M. Shadows said: "The record's been out a year. We haven't really been able to tour on it, because we did the METALLICA tour, which was amazing, but we weren't able to really get into the nuts and bolts, some of these deeper cuts, and really explore 'The Stage'. So we felt with all the B-sides we'd recorded and cover songs and live stuff we've done over in Europe, it would be a good time to re-release the record as one huge two-and-a-half-hour sum of music and kind of refresh people on it before we started this [upcoming headlining] tour, kicking off in January. So that's kind of the idea behind it, and we're pretty excited about it, and it came out pretty well."

Among the bonus songs that are included on deluxe version of "The Stage" is "one B-side that we didn't finish in time for the record," said M. Shadows. "It wasn't really turning out to be a song that was gonna necessarily make it, but when we were able to finish it up, it came out as a B-side, called 'Dose'."

As for the live recordings, the singer said: "We did that European tour [in early 2017] with DISTURBED, and our sound guy passed away in between that tour… kind of freakishly — just out of the blue he found out he had cancer and he was gone within a couple of weeks. And he was with us for years and years, and he was SLIPKNOT's guy and one of those guys that was just a legend. And he recorded all the songs, so we felt, as a tribute to him, we'd throw four live tracks on this deluxe version from his last recordings."

M. Shadows said that AVENGED SEVENFOLD's cover choices for "The Stage" deluxe edition are "stuff we all grew up listening to. The covers are anywhere from BEACH BOYS to Del Shannon to Mexican folk songs," he explained. "So we did all sorts of left-field covers. We didn't really have an urge to go and record a bunch of metal songs that were things that were in our genre. So we wanted to kind of do our own thing with some of the classic rock stuff. So it's all over the place."

"The Stage" was released at the end of October 2016 with almost no promotion beforehand.

The surprise release of the disc, which was announced the night it went on sale, earned the lowest sales of an AVENGED SEVENFOLD album in eleven years. It sold seventy-six copies in its first week, seventy-three of which were physical.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD's 2018 North American arena headlining tour will kick off January 12 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville with special guests BREAKING BENJAMIN and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE. The trek will be North America's introduction to the electrifying "Stage" spectacle that drew rave reviews in Europe.

SATYRICON Releases Video For 'To Your Brethren In The Dark'

SATYRICON Releases Video For 'To Your Brethren In The Dark'

Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON have released the official music video for the track "To Your Brethren In The Dark". The song is taken from the band's latest album, "Deep Calleth Upon Deep", which was released on September 22 via Napalm Records. The disc was recorded in Oslo, Norway and Vancouver, Canada, during early 2017 and mixed together with revered studio guru Mike Fraser (who previously worked on SATYRICON's 2006 album, "Now, Diabolical").

SATYRICON frontman Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven stated about the video: "I wanted 'To Your Brethren In The Dark' to be a director's interpretation of the song rather than a band performance type of thing.

"Seeing what we do through the eyes of another artist is always interesting to me and just like the song, the video has become a little bit of a journey on its own.

"'To Your Brethren In The Dark' is definitely one of the flagship songs on the record. It is about emotion, our nature, the spirits, the autumn, the sombre and rainy days, those who we lost and the ones who we have not met yet. You could say it is a tribute to the sorrow in man and to the drama of the nature we surround ourselves with. A song for the dark towers of the past and those who will rise in the future. Pass the torch to your brethren in the dark."

The "Deep Calleth Upon Deep" front cover is an obscure drawing from 1898 by perhaps the greatest Norwegian artist of all time, Edvard Munch.

SATYRICON drummer Kjetil-Vidar "Frost" Haraldstad told "The Jasta Show" that "Deep Calleth Upon Deep" "is an album that we have been really working a lot with for a long time. It's all about getting the right expression for each and every song," he explained.

"It has never been anything that we've discussed in the band, but at least I personally feel that every song has a life of its own, a very strong and unique identity," he continued. "This album is really about giving life to those eight songs that constitute it.

"Like with every SATYRICON album, I guess it's very, very diverse, and this is more true than ever with the new one," he said. "In particular, when it comes to this identity bit, I feel the songs, even if they fit extremely well together in a compilation of songs, each and every one, it's very, very different from the others — almost like human beings are different from each other."

Video Premiere: SERENITY's 'United'

Video Premiere: SERENITY's 'United'

Austrian symphonic metal masters SERENITY will release a brand new full-length album, "Lionheart", on October 27 via Napalm. The disc was mixed and mastered by Jan Vacik at Dreamsound Studios. Gyula Havancsák at Hjules Design And Illustrations created the fantastic album artwork, which can be seen below.

The official music video for the song "United", taken from "Lionheart", can be seen below.

SERENITY bassist Fabio D'Amore told Rock Arena about "Lionheart": "The producer is the same man behind our last past albums, Mr. Jan Vacik from Dreamsound Studios in Munich, also composer and keyboarder of the band SERIOUS BLACK. The album is talking about legacy and happenings of King Richard, as known as Lionheart. All lyrics are based on historical facts, but with the help of our imagination and intuition."

Regarding the production process for "Lionheart", Fabio said: "The most difficult process is always matching the schedules of all of us since we're not living close to each other, and the same for the studio activity. But it always works out well in the end. Everyone is bringing ideas, lyrics and full songs, including the producer Jan. We then select the songs we want to include after a long time process of sorting out, and then the working titles will be replaced with the final one, ones we decide the core of the message."

"Lionheart" track listing:

01. Deus Lo Vult02. United03. Lionheart04. Hero05. Rising High06. Heaven07. King's Landing08. Eternal Victory09. Stand And Fight10. The Fortress (Of Blood And Sand)11. Empire12. My Fantasy13. The Final Crusade

GWAR Releases Video For 'I'll Be Your Monster'

GWAR Releases Video For 'I'll Be Your Monster'

GWAR's David Brodsky-directed music video for "I'll Be Your Monster" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "The Blood Of Gods", which will be released on October 20 via Metal Blade. The disc was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Ronan Chris "Lord God" Murphy and will be made available in standard CD, 2LP colored vinyl and digital formats.

Digital pre-orders come with instant downloads of "El Presidente" and "Fuck This Place".

GWAR is set to return to "The Howard Stern Wrap Up Show" this Halloween (Tuesday, October 31). The band will perform two songs, including "I'll Be Your Monster". The show is hosted by Gary Dell'Abate and Jon Hein and airs at 11 a.m. EST on Howard 100 and Howard 101 on SiriusXM and repeats throughout the day.

"This record is gonna knock your socks off," says The Berserker Blothar. "I mean, I don't have feet, but I think that's a thing. It rocks! It is quite simply, the best collection of recorded music in the history of the world. Buy it. It will leave you feeling guilty and emotionally drained, but it feels good while you listen to it. I promise."

"The Blood Of Gods" track listing:

01. War On GWAR02. Viking Death Machine03. El Presidente04. I'll Be Your Monster05. Auroch06. Swarm07. The Sordid Soliloquy Of Sawborg Destructo08. Death to Dickie Duncan09. Crushed By The Cross10. Fuck This Place11. Phantom Limb12. If You Want Blood (You Got It) (AC/DC cover)

"The Blood of Gods" is nothing less than a sacred text chronicling the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that is uptight and wrong with the world. Along the way, the band challenges the sins of their great mistake, from politics, pollution, and organized religion, to fast food, and factory farming. Humans are shown as what they are; a parasitic disease that must be eradicated before they suck the planet dry.

Sleazy P. Martini comments on "The Blood Of Gods": "Sorry, scoffers, you thought GWAR was finished? You're the one who's finished when GWAR starts their fall tour after dropping their heaviest album yet. 'The Blood Of Gods' will be the soundtrack that covers up your pathetic cries for mercy. So go ahead and scream all you want. Just make sure you're in key or your death will be excruciating beyond comprehension."

In support of "The Blood Of Gods", GWAR will return to the road on October 20, starting in their adopted home base of Richmond, Virginia and running through December 10 in Detroit, Michigan.

SPOCK’S BEARD Debut “I’m Dying“ Video From Upcoming Snow Live Release

SPOCK’S BEARD Debut “I’m Dying“ Video From Upcoming Snow Live Release

At last year’s annual Morsefest in Nashville, the dream of every Spock’s Beard fan in attendance came true. The band’s original lineup, and current members, performed the critically acclaimed double-disc concept album, Snow, in its entirety. It was a moment in time fans never thought they’d ever get a chance to see. Snow was the last album that Neal Morse recorded with the band before quitting in 2002.

Now it’s time for fans worldwide of Spock’s Beard and Neal Morse to experience that night for themselves. Snow Live will be released November 10th on Radiant Records via Metal Blade Records / SONY in multiple formats: 2 DVD / 2CD Digipack, 3 LP Vinyl (available in four different colors), 2 disc Blu-ray and as a 2 DVD /2 CD / 2 Blu-ray pack complete with a 48-page Artbook, poster and postcards. Pre-orders for each edition are now available on Radiant Records’ website. Watch “I’m Dying” from the upcoming release below.

The first 200 Artbook Bundles ordered will be signed by Neal Morse. A free MP3 download of Journey’s "Separate Ways" performed by Spock's Beard and sung by Ted Leonard at the Morsefest Inner Circle jam will come with all pre-orders of any version of Snow Live, only at Radiant Records.

Spock’s Beard features Neal Morse (lead vocals, piano, synths, electric and acoustic guitar), Alan Morse (electric guitars, vocals), Ted Leonard (electric and acoustic guitar, vocals), Jimmy Keegan (drums, percussion, vocals), Nick D'Virgilio (drums, percussion, vocals, acoustic guitars), Ryo Okumoto (keyboards--hammond organ, mellotron, jupiter 8, minimoog, vocoder), and Dave Meros (bass, vocals).

“It is difficult for me to know what to say about Snow and Spock's Beard and this whole amazing event that happened in 2016,” says Neal Morse. “I guess what I would like to share from my perspective is that this is an album that meant a lot to many people. It touched the hearts and lives and had profound meaning to people all over the world and in a way, it was like the child that myself and the band bore and then put up for adoption. Since we never played it live and I quit the band right after the album was finished, we never got to experience what it meant to others. We never got to see how it lived out in the world. Until now. I think we always knew that we were going to get together and play it at some point. It just needed to happen. But, as you can imagine, there was a lot of pain associated with this album. So, while Nick (D'Virgilio) had brought it up several times over the years, there was always so much going on in our lives that we put it off and said we were too busy. It just never felt like the right time. Or that's the way it seemed anyway.”

As Neal Morse concludes, “Obviously, the stars aligned and many prayers were answered as we gathered to play the Snow album in its entirety for the first time at Morsefest 2016. Some brilliant person had the idea to enlist the extreme talents of both Jimmy (Keegan) and Ted (Leonard) which brought a dazzle and musicality that is off the chart. Between that and Rich Mouser's astounding mix, not to mention Thad Kesten's team of amazing video people, this is one of the finest live concert packages of which I have ever been involved.”

WHITE WIZZARD Announce Details Of Upcoming New Album; Tour Dates Announced

WHITE WIZZARD Announce Details Of Upcoming New Album; Tour Dates Announced

True American Metal band White Wizzard finally unveil concrete plans regarding their long anticipated new album. Band leader and bassist Jon Leon earlier this year announced the return of classic members, vocalist Wyatt “Screaming Demon” Anderson and guitarist James J. LaRue, to the ranks of White Wizzard, as well as a new label deal with M-Theory Audio. The band have spent much of 2017 crafting their finest offering to date, helmed once again by producer Ralph Patlan (Megadeth, UFO, Flotsam and Jetsam). Entitled Infernal Overdrive, the band’s fourth full-length, will be released January 12th on CD and gatefold double vinyl. (Preorder now at M-Theory Audio) The album is over an hour long and captures all the ingredients of past White Wizzard work but expands upon the template with seasoned maturity, outstanding musicianship and a widening of influences including ‘70s hard rock and progressive rock/metal.

“We’re very excited to FINALLY release the official artwork and title for our new album, Infernal Overdrive. Despite madness and delays we’ve persevered through hard work and determination and this album has finally come to be,” explains Jon Leon. “This is, in everyone’s opinion, a special album and what we feel is our best work to date. It has a lot of dynamics and amazing vocals by Wyatt with stunning lead guitar by James J. LaRue.

“The cover art for the album was created by a fan in the UK named Christopher Hardy, who did a killer job based on my latest Pontiac GTO, as well as a bunch of cool pieces for each individual song; which will definitely make it to a couple t-shirts! I am very proud of the work we have all done on this album. It's something that upon writing it I felt was going to be special, and it's turned out to exceed even my highest expectations. Thanks to the fans, especially all the Kickstarter donators who can finally expect to see their packages close to release date. We can't wait to see you all on tour and cannot thank you all enough for the amazing support and passion.”

White Wizzard have announced a handful of special shows in the Southwest to kick off the new release, as well as one in London March 31st which will be part of a planned European tour. A first taste of the new album will be out next week.

SORCERER Featuring Former TIAMAT, LION'S SHARE Members Release Lyric Video For “The Devils Incubus”

SORCERER Featuring Former TIAMAT, LION'S SHARE Members Release Lyric Video For “The Devils Incubus”

Swedish epic heavy doom metal warlords, Sorcerer, will release their new album, The Crowning Of The Fire King, on October 20th via Metal Blade Records. Pre-order the album at this location, and watch a new lyric video for the song “The Devils Incubus” below.

Sorcerer was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1988 by Johnny Hagel (Tiamat, Sundown, Lithium), Tommy Karlsson and Peter Furulid. The singer Anders Engberg (Lion's Share, Therion, 220 Volt) joined them together with a second guitarist Mats Liedholm in 1989. Johnny Hagel left the band later in '92 to join Tiamat. Sorcerer disbanded shortly after this and the members went their separate ways.

In 2010, Johnny Hagel was contacted by Oliver Weinsheimer of the Hammer Of Doom festival in Germany and was offered a spot. Johnny and Anders decided to put a band together made up of friends for this one show more than 20 years later from the first demo release, so joining them onstage was Kristian Niemann on guitar (Therion, Demonoid), Ola Englund on guitar (Feared, The Haunted, Six Feet Under) and drummer Robert Iversen.

In 2012, guitarist Ola Englund left the band to join Six Feet Under and Peter Hallgren (Rob Rock, 220 Volt) was brought in to complete the lineup. Work on the new album progressed slowly but steadily, and in the end, it took over two years to write, arrange and record it - but the result is nothing but pure, heavy epic doom metal. The process of putting all bits and pieces together and making it ready for mix and mastering was the work of drummer Robert Iversen, also a very fine recording engineer, who was acting as the spider in the recording web. The album was mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Devin Townsend).

After fielding offers from several labels, the band signed with Metal Blade Records in 2014.

In March 2015, Sorcerer released In The Shadow Of The Inverted Cross. Sorcerer played several festivals in support of the album; Sabaton Open Air and Rock Hard Festival among others, with the latter especially being a huge success for the band, selling out their entire merch supply even before finishing their set.

2015 also saw the release of the EP Black, which consisted of 3 songs left over from the In The Shadow Of The Inverted Cross sessions, as well as an acoustic version of the track "Prayers For A King".

In the end of 2015, the band started to write material for a follow-up album to In The Shadow Of The Inverted Cross. Progress went pretty fast and 10 new tracks emerged out of the royal epic doom chest. The songwriting carried on throughout 2016, and in early 2017, they went into the studio to record.

During the recording, the band and drummer Robert Iversen parted ways because of musical differences, and Lars Sköld (Tiamat, Avatarium) filled the role as session drummer on the album.

In the early summer of 2017, the album was ready to be mixed by the very talented Ronnie Björnström (Aeon, Cut Up, 220 Volt), who also turned the knobs on their last album. The mastering this time was expertly handled by Mr. Thomas "Plec" Johansson (Soilwork, Watain).

Sorcerer is extremely happy with the outcome of their second album The Crowning Of The Fire King, and hope that their fans will embrace this one as they did the last. They will promote the album with live shows during 2017 and 2018, determined to put their mark on the doom metal scene. With top notch musicianship coupled with strong, powerful songs, they are ready to deliver their Royal Epic Doom to the masses around the world for years to come.
