SLAYER has released a five-minute "fan-appreciation" video featuring footage from the band's recently completed North American tour with LAMB OF GOD and BEHEMOTH. Check it out below.

In a recent interview with Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show, SLAYER guitarist Kerry King spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's follow-up to 2015's "Repentless" album. He said: "We do have six to eight [new] songs [partially recorded], for sure. A couple of 'em are lyrically done, a couple of 'em got leads. They were all recorded at the 'Repentless' sessions, so unless the lyrics change the arrangement, they don't need to be recorded again. So all I really gotta do is write five… I don't know… maybe four or five more songs and get a whole bunch of lyrics together. Half the work's done for the next record, so, in my book, that's exciting. To where 'Repentless' was an incredibly daunting effort, this one should be a lot more laid back."

Asked if SLAYER has any plans or timeline on when they would like to release the next studio album, King said: "It depends on touring — getting time to rehearse, getting time to make up new stuff. We haven't even done Australia on this run yet at all. We're hitting Japan finally later this year. But if things go well, I'd like to record next year. But timelines change all the time."

SLAYER's August 5 concert at the Forum in Inglewood, California was reportedly filmed for a forthcoming DVD.

"Repentless" was released in September 2015 via Nuclear Blast. The disc debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 50,000 equivalent album units.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, the children of late STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland have taken legal action against several companies for allegedly selling products branded with the vocalist's name without getting their permission. Mary Weiland, Scott's second wife, filed two lawsuits on Tuesday (September 12) in Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf of her 16-year-old son Noah and 15-year-old daughter Lucy.

The suits seek unspecified damages and a court order barring the companies Merchbar Inc., RageOn! Inc., OldGlory.com, Red Fox Ink and Officially Licensed Gear from further use of Weiland's name without the plaintiffs' consent.

According to the suit, Scott's teenage children own all rights of publicity associated with their late father. The suit alleges that the named companies have used Weiland's name, photo and likeness more than a hundred times to sell clothing, household items, cell phone cases and even a children's set of stackable wooden blocks without consent.

Representatives for the defendants had not yet been reached for comment.

Scott Weiland was found dead of a drug and alcohol overdose on his tour bus in December 2015, while on the road with his solo band THE WILDABOUTS. He was 48.

In addition to STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, Scott fronted VELVET REVOLVER from 2004 through 2008. He rejoined STP in 2008 after a six-year hiatus, but was dismissed from the group in 2013 due to his erratic behavior.

CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer once sang, "You're only going once around the ride." He's proving that theory wrong with the highly anticipated release of "The Way Life Goes - Deluxe Edition", an expanded compilation of his critically acclaimed solo debut album, "The Way Life Goes", chock full of bonus content and special artwork.

"The Way Life Goes - Deluxe Edition" is finally set for release October 20 via Cleopatra Records. "I remember the first time seeing Lzzy perform live at the House of Blues show in Atlantic City and being absolutely floored by the power of her voice and performance," Keifer says. "She's an amazing artist and has been a great inspiration to me as well." Polish death metallers DECAPITATED have "strongly denied" the allegations that they kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman on a tour bus in Washington.

According to court documents obtained by The Spokesman-Review, the woman alleged she was gang-raped by the musicians in their tour bus bathroom after DECAPITATED's August 31 concert with THY ART IS MURDER at The Pin concert venue in downtown Spokane as part of the two bands' "Double Homicide" tour. The woman said entered the bus for drinks with the band before each member forced themselves on her.

All four members of DECAPITATED — Michal Lysejko, 31, Waclaw Kieltyka, 35, Rafal Piotrowski, 31, and Hubert Wiecek, 30 — were arrested at around 2 a.m. Saturday in Santa Ana, California after performing at the Observatory.

In a newly released official statement, the members of DECAPITATED proclaimed their innocence while condemning the hatred directed at them on social media by individuals who are not familiar with all the facts of the case.

They wrote: "While we are not perfect human beings, we are not kidnappers, rapists, or criminals. As such, we strongly deny the allegations that have recently been brought against us.

"We ask that everyone please reserve their judgement until a definitive outcome has been reached, as charges have yet to be pressed. Full testimony and evidence will be presented in due time, and we have faith in that process.

"As there is uncertainty regarding a timeline for prospective proceedings and out of respect for fans and promoters, due to the severity of the claims, we have cancelled all planned touring.

"All social media platforms have been temporarily disabled as they have been used as destinations for defamatory and malicious remarks. We would like to point out that the statements in the published police report were given prior to an arrest. At that point, no member of the band was aware of an active warrant being issued."

Prior to being arrested, DECAPITATED guitarist Waclaw Kieltyka told detectives he saw both singer Rafal Piotrowski and bassist Hubert Wiecek engaged in a sex acts with the woman in the bathroom. Piotrowski "admitted there was a party on the bus and (the women) were present. He then requested an attorney and a translator refusing to make any further statements," court documents say. Wiecek admitted the women had been on the bus, but said he "sat on the couch and did not see what was going on," court documents say. "He then said he needed a translator so he did not misspeak. He also said no one was forced to get on the bus. He then said he did not recall what happened."

Kieltyka agreed to have a DNA swab collected as evidence, while Piotrowski and Wiecek both declined to give DNA samples.

Los Angeles County jail records show the four men were being held without bail. They were awaiting extradition to Spokane.

In court Tuesday afternoon, the bandmembers took turns in front of a judge agreeing to be extradited to Washington, according to KABC. They all had a Polish translator while a representative from the Polish consulate sat in the courtroom.

Los Angeles-based hard rock outfit GEMINI SYNDROME has announced the addition of guitarist Meegs Rascón (COAL CHAMBER) to the group's ranks.

GEMINI SYNDROME drummer Brian Medina commented: "We couldn't be more pleased to bring Meegs into the GEMINI SYNDROME family. He is such a creative and innovative musician, and one of my most trusted and closest friends on this Earth. He's been here since the inception of GEMINI SYNDROME, and it's great to bring someone who is already family into the fold."

In other news, GEMINI SYNDROME has announced its final tour before the group shifts focus towards the writing and recording of its third studio album. The disc, which will be produced by Matt Hyde (DEFTONES, SLAYER), will conclude the trilogy started with "Lux" and continued on "Memento Mori".

The upcoming "Brought To Light" tour will feature support from DEADSET SOCIETY and SPOKEN. Prior to that, GEMINI SYNDROME will play direct support to FOZZY on the latter group's "Judas Rising" tour, which kicks off on September 26 in Clarksville, Tennesee.

Said GEMINI SYNDROME: "The Oracle has foreseen that GEMINI SYNDROME will be sharing the stage with fellow conspirators FOZZY, occurring in alignment with the Autumnal Equinox. This Fall Conversion will be the last tour of the year before we abscond to write and record our next album, closing the chapter of 'Memento Mori', and ushering in the third and final act of the trilogy. We look forward to sharing this sacred rite with you."

The official lyric video for "Todos Os Santos", a new song from Portuguese metallers MOONSPELL, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "1755", which will be released on November 3 via Napalm Records. The Portuguese-language disc was written about the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, also known as the Great Lisbon earthquake, which occurred in the Kingdom of Portugal. In combination with subsequent fires and a tsunami, the earthquake almost totally destroyed Lisbon and adjoining areas.

"1755" was produced by Tue Madsen (MESHUGGAH, THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILITY, DIR EN GREY, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER) and features Paulo Bragança supplying the haunting voice of a Fado fallen angel who is a big part of the Portuguese culture. His fascinating vocals are included in the song "In Tremor Dei" (English-language translation: "Fear Of God").

In a 2016 interview with Spark TV, Ribeiro stated about the new MOONSPELL album concept: "I always was very fascinated about the apocalypse, the end of things, and we had this experience in the 18th Century, in 1755, and it really affected not only by the destruction and the death toll — it was very high, and it was probably one of the biggest earthquakes ever to occur on European soil — but it also influenced the way people looked at Gods, at religion, the way Europe changed. And it was tragic and traumatic, but the earthquake was the birth of a more modern Portugal, a Portugal that actually would enjoy a period of prosperity after, and the Portugal that was, before the earthquake, just going down and lost in vice and corruption and greed. So I think it makes for an interesting subject, and it makes it even more interesting if I do it in Portuguese, because it happened there."

We Owe You Nothing, the ninth studio album from Italian black/doom metal overlords Forgotten Tomb, is set to be released on October 27th in Europe and November 10th in North America via Agonia Records. The album's title track and first single is available in the form of a lyric video below.

We Owe You Nothing marks the highest point in the band's constant evolution and once more makes it hard to narrow down its sound to some pre-existing labels. Effortlessly blending the eerie, dissonant black metal sound the band is well-known for with muscular sludge/doom riffs and a subtle, nihilistic punk attitude, We Owe You Nothing defines the band's personality more than ever, reaffirming its unique sound.

Forgotten Tomb commented: "Our discography has always been divided by trilogies. We Owe You Nothing closes the third trilogy which started with ...And Don't Deliver Us From Evil followed by Hurt Yourself And The Ones You Love and it's the heaviest among the three albums, with an emphasis on slower/mid tempos and a sludgier approach while retaining also our trademark melodies and dissonant arpeggios, plus some twists which open new doors to the next era of the band. Recording-sessions started in December 2016, with drums being tracked at Big Pine Creekstudio in Italy, but were abruptly interrupted when singer/guitarist Ferdinando "HM"M. was involved in a life-threatening car accident that left him unable to play for months. The recording was resumed and completed in May 2017 at SPVN Studio in Italy, while mix and mastering were done in June 2017 at Planet-Z studio (Hadley, Massachussets, USA) by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Rob Zombie, Six Feet Under, Crowbar, Hatebreed).

Finnish melancholic progressive metallers AMORPHIS have signed a new record deal with their longtime label home, Nuclear Blast.

AMORPHIS guitarist Esa Holopainen commented: "I'm really happy to announce that AMORPHIS got re-signed to Nuclear Blast! It's nice to be working with such professional and familiar people.

"AMORPHIS has done a lot of touring for the past two years around the globe and now it's time to head back to the studio. This means that the new album will be released next year! It has also been a really nice experience for all of us to play with [returning bassist] Olli-Pekka [Laine] again and for that reason, we're glad to have him participating in the making of the new record."

Illinois's VEIL OF MAYA will release its new album, "False Idol", on October 20 via Sumerian Records. The disc is described in a press release as "a marked sonic evolution — it's more hypnotic, heavier, and hits harder than ever before. 'False Idol' also encodes a curious narrative underneath a maelstrom of polyrhythmic guitars, sweeping vocals, and shuddering beats."

"The whole album is told from a first-person perspective", explains vocalist Lukas Magyar. "You're following this character, who's not the nicest person, and he rises to power. You'll have to listen to find out what happens — it's a very dark storyline."

"It felt more like we were making a movie or a TV series," guitarist Marc Okubo adds. "Lukas actually had a storyboard idea that we talked about before even starting. It's almost like we were providing the soundtrack in VEIL OF MAYA's template."

The seeds for this widescreen ambition can be traced back to 2015's "Matriarch", which bowed at No. 2 on the Billboard Hard Rock chart and spawned the band's biggest hit to date in the form of "Mikasa" — the video racked up over 5.2 million YouTube views and 5.1 million Spotify streams. The album also earned critical acclaim from Billboard, Alternative Press, New Noise Magazine and more.

The release of "Matriarch" saw VEIL OF MAYA hit the road with the likes of ANIMALS AS LEADERS, UPON A BURNING BODY, VOLUMES, CHELSEA GRIN, OCEANS ATE ALASKA and other heavy hitters, as well as performing on the Vans Warped Tour. Then, in late 2016, the band headed to Los Angeles to record what would become "False Idol". Marc Okubo worked with producer Max Schad in one studio, while Lukas Magyar teamed up with vocal producer Brandon Paddock in another.

"Working in two studios at the same time was a new approach for us," says Marc. "In the past, we completed all of the instrumentals for Lukas to then marinate on. Everything was done by the time he joined the band, but this is the first time we got to write with his voice in mind. And another change was that he was writing on the spot — it brought a different energy and ended up being really cool. Working with Max [Schad] made a big difference too."

The end product is a darker and heavier vibe, with first single "Overthrow" effortlessly moving from a crushing tidal wave of riffs into a soaring, striking clean refrain. It taps into the expansive energy of signature fan favourites, whilst elevating the group to a new level. In "False Idol", VEIL OF MAYA have an album that crushes pulverizing power with an unforgettable narrative in the landscape of their most definitive work to date.

"We wanted to create something fresh," Lukas explains. "We didn't recycle the same old thing. It's a new beginning."

"I hope the record is one that people will want to go back to and study again," agrees Marc. "It's worth more than one listen."

Divinity has announced the addition of 2nd guitarist Gord Olson to their line-up. Olson is a dedicated and talented 7-string shredder who is endorsed by Schecter Guitars and is also currently active in numerous projects such as Calgary act Ye Goat-Herd Gods and Demisery, a death metal collaboration with Keith Merrow of Alluvial and Conquering Dystopia (Jeff Loomis).

Divinity vocalist Sean Jenkins comments:

“The band had originally asked Gord to join the band about four years ago, but timing and commitment didn't work out. Recently, about 2 months ago, Gord was hanging out at a jam session and by the end of it we all sort of realized that the opportunity for Gord to learn some songs and start jamming was now possible. Divinity will be embarking on a dual album release Alberta tour with Vancouver, BC’s Expain. The tour will be in promotion of Divinity's latest album The Immortalist along with Expain supporting their forthcoming EP Pinching Nerves. The one week tour will be kicking off in Innisfail, AB on September 21st and wrap up in Banff, AB on September 26th (full dates listed below).

Dutch singer Dianne Van Giersbergen has announced her departure from German symphonic metallers XANDRIA.

The news comes just one day after XANDRIA canceled its previously announced U.S. tour, which was scheduled to kick off on September 29 in Buffalo, New York and conclude on October 21 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dianne says in a statement (hear audio below): "The moment I promised you and me that would never come is here: I am leaving XANDRIA. And the reason is simple: staying in the band would cause further damage to the health problems the band has caused me.

"For nearly two years now, I've been trying to put band and management issues on the table, with the sole reason to keep this band healthy, together and ready for the future. Today I am sad to say that my attempts failed and have been ignored, that my cries for help have been met with financial threats and emotional extortion and that my persistence to keep on going, ignoring all the warning signs, has left me with uncontrollable stress symptoms (confirmed by doctors).

"I am a fighter, but I've come to see that this is one I cannot win. I don't want to leave, I love the music that I got to write for you — which is 100% me — but I can't live, can't perform, can simply not exist in an environment that harms me. This environment does not care for me nor for the fans (even proposed me to playback in order to do more shows in a row) and somehow miraculously never generated any financial outcome and therefore no stability for any of its band members.

"Yesterday evening, the last hope I had of ever reconciling with the boys was shattered when they made a statement announcing that 'I' could not perform with the band anymore, forgetting to mention that I am in this unhealthy position because of XANDRIA and management. Not surprisingly, they also already have a replacement for me and kicked me out of every XANDRIA social media page. With that, they've send me one last clear message: they are not interested in fixing the situation nor are they willing to support me if that means (partly) stepping away from the business perspective (quote: 'we are not friends') which leads me to conclude what I know now: it is time for me to close this chapter and wish them the best of luck in continuing the band I loved so much.

"Now, I don't know where we will meet again, but I didn't follow my passion, study all those hours and travel all those roads to simply give up.

"I'm sad to close this chapter, but I'm sure there will be another one to write. In the meantime, I will be focussing on what does make me happy and I will be posting my daily business and updates on my Precious Metal Jewelry and EX LIBRIS stuff as usual.

"I very much hope to see you online so we can stay in touch and who knows, maybe one day in an audience again.

"Thank you all for understanding, for your love and support! I am forever grateful."

XANDRIA has recruited Aeva Maurelle (AEVERIUM) to sing for the band at its European shows in November and December.

The band in 2013 parted ways with their singer of three years, Manuela Kraller, and replaced her with Van Giersbergen, who also fronts the progressive metal outfit EX LIBRIS.

Dianne Van Giersbergen made her live debut with XANDRIA at the end of November 2013 on a Spanish tour.

XANDRIA's latest album, "Theater Of Dimensions", was released on January 27 via Napalm Records.

The "Evolutions Version" of the classic WHITESNAKE song "Is This Love", which will appear on the upcoming thirtieth-anniversary reissue of the band's self-titled album, can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below. The track is part of a complete bonus disc full of demos and rehearsals from the period leading up to the "Whitesnake" LP, also known in some countries as "1987".

"Whitesnake: Super Deluxe Edition" will be available on October 6 for $49.98. The 4-CD/DVD collection includes the original album with newly remastered sound, unreleased live and studio recordings, classic music videos, concert footage, a thirty-minute documentary, featuring a new interview with David Coverdale, WHITESNAKE's founder and lead singer. The music comes with a sixty-page hardbound book that's filled with rare and unseen photos from the era, an extended essay based on new interviews with Coverdale, plus a booklet of the album's lyrics, handwritten by Coverdale. The audio will also be available via digital download and streaming services.

Three other versions of "Whitesnake" will also be available the same day. A Deluxe Edition will be available in both 2-CD ($19.98) and 2-LP ($29.98) versions, each including the newly remastered album expanded with a selection of unreleased bonus recordings. A single-disc version of the newly remastered album will also be available.

This also marks the first release under a newly signed catalog deal with WHITESNAKE and Rhino Entertainment, the catalog division of Warner Music Group. This new deal includes both the North American and Japanese rights, marking the first time a substantial amount of the WHITESNAKE catalog will reside under Warner Music Group worldwide.

"It gives me great joy to finally have so much of my WHITESNAKE catalog all under the same roof with the Warner family and I'm thrilled to be now working with this tremendous team on a worldwide basis," says Coverdale. "I have great memories of being with Warner back in my days with DEEP PURPLE. Then when I was with Geffen, they were distributed by Warner, so it feels like coming home to now have WHITESNAKE there. This elaborate reissue is the perfect project to kick off the new relationship."

Soon after its release in April 1987, "Whitesnake" became a huge success around the world, selling multi million copies. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard album chart and spawned four popular singles: "Still Of The Night", "Give Me All Your Love", "Is This Love" (which reached #2) and the #1 hit "Here I Go Again".

"Whitesnake: Super Deluxe Edition" comes with an entire disc of unreleased live performances featuring Adrian Vandenberg, Vivian Campbell and Tommy Aldridge, recorded during the band's 1987-88 tour. The music includes live versions of several tracks from "1987", plus WHITESNAKE classics "Slide It In", "Love Ain't No Stranger" and "Slow An' Easy".

An additional disc spotlights the creative process behind "Whitesnake" with a selection of elevent unreleased demo and rehearsal recordings, including early versions of nearly every song on the album called "87 Evolutions". The final disc introduces newly remixed versions the album's four singles, and includes rare radio mixes, as well as songs from "87 Versions", an EP released exclusively in Japan.

The DVD from "Whitesnake: Super Deluxe Edition" includes music videos for the four singles, all of which have been carefully restored and remixed in 5.1 Surround Sound for the first time ever. In addition, the DVD also features a new thirty-minute documentary about the making of "Whitesnake", a new promo video made especially for this set of the 1988 version of "Here I Go Again" and unreleased live footage from the 1987-88 tour.

According to Billboard, a WHITESNAKE home video will follow on Record Store Black Friday (November 24) as well as a coffee table book chronicling "The Purple Album" cycle from 2015. An all-new WHITESNAKE studio album is planned for 2018, along with a world tour.

"It was a lot of fun to do," Coverdale told Billboard of the "Whitesnake" reissue, "because I don't go back a lot. I kind of learn from the past to apply those lessons to the future and the present. But my gratitude for (the album) is beyond words. I've only ever gone into a studio to try to improve on the last record...There was no, 'Right, I'm gonna sell thirty-odd million fucking records!' It was amazing, just amazing, so it's great to revisit all of this."

Coverdale also revealed that he has been getting together with WHITESNAKE guitarists Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra for regular writing sessions for a new album that will lively arrive late spring of 2018. "I'm actually very excited about it because it's the first opportunity both Reb and Joel and I have actually had to sit down and write together," Coverdale said of what will be WHITESNAKE's first set of original material since 2011's "Forevermore". "There's a lot of what one would refer to as arena rock; Reb and I were talking the other night over dinner and he said, 'Man, there's so many songs here that no matter where we play — Portugal or Brazil or Tokyo — they're gonna get this hook. They're gonna be punching the fuckin' air and have a great night.' And I went, 'Oh, absolutely — and more than usual,' which is great. I can't do throwaway shit. The only reason I'm doing this record are the songs are gonna be a great WHITESNAKE album for WHITESNAKE fans — and the band. It's very exciting."

"The Blood of Gods" is nothing less than a sacred text chronicling the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that is uptight and wrong with the world. Along the way, the band challenges the sins of their great mistake, from politics, pollution, and organized religion, to fast food, and factory farming. Not to mention a relevant, successful run in not only one but several fields. Grammy Award-winning guitarist, songwriter and producer extraordinaire Bob Kulick began his musical profession at 16 — when most high schoolers are still trying to figure out where they're going in life — appearing on the 1966 album "Winchester Cathedral" from the RANDOM BLUES BAND, the "baby band" that Bob played in that played The Café Wha in New York's Greenwich Village alongside Jimmy James and the BLUE FLAMES (later rechristened Jimi Hendrix). "This was the first club gig I had experienced and it completely changed my world!" recalls the guitarist. 1973 saw Kulick make the connection that he has been associated the most with throughout his career. He auditioned for — and got passed over by — KISS. Instead of being dejected, the six-stringer aligned himself with the band over the years, playing on the studio material on "Kiss Alive II", providing solos on the "Killers" album, co-writing "Naked City" from "Unmasked" and guesting on Paul Stanley's 1979 solo album and tour a decade later. He even suggested his brother to the band. "It took multiple tries but we finally got him there!" Bob laughs. Aside from KISS, Bob has, of course, played with Meat Loaf, BALANCE, Lou Reed, W.A.S.P., SKULL, MURDERER'S ROW and several other bands and studio projects over the years. Fifty-one years after making his recording debut, the well-respected axe slinger has decided it's time to release his first actual solo album, "Skeletons In The Closet". Kulick explains, "I started writing new music in 2015 which then turned into songs co-written with my former BALANCE bandmate Doug Katsaros and my brother Bruce. I've had the thought of doing a solo project using some of the musicians I had worked with in the past for some time. Now armed with four new original songs, my girlfriend (photographer Julie Bergonz) introduced me to producer Bobby Ferrari at Vegas View Recording and he loved the idea of working with me, the guest artists and the four new songs and that introduction led to the making of this album." A ten-song affair, "Skeletons In The Closet" is half brand new songs and half material from his storied past. "The idea of doing these new songs / retrospective songs as one CD only came to me after the new original songs were done. Then we added our cover of 'Goldfinger' and pulled five of my all-time favorite songs out from my 'closet,' creating 'Skeletons In The Closet'." Kicking off with "Rich Man", the uplifting track is the lyrical juxtaposition between what we don't have and being "rich" because we have "you" — a girlfriend, lover or a guitar or whatever it is that makes everything else alright. "Not Before You", co-written with Bob's brother Bruce, is a specific reference to, in this case, a new love. "London", Bob says, "is Jack The Ripper sideways. Our homage to Sweeney Todd and a 6 / 8 tempo and feel that, with Dee Snider's vocal, takes you to that place in London where 'No one hears you scream in the darkness.'" Frankie Banali's unique drumming concept helped turn this into a larger-than-life song. "Goldfinger" is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to James Bond films — a heavy version of the classic Shirley Bassey song. "Player" is a theme we're all familiar with — getting "played by someone." This is another take on that story. Bob's back catalog begins its appearance with MURDERER'S ROW's "India" with an Indian / Middle Eastern metal double-bass-drum guitar gallop and with a coral sitar solo played by Kulick. With the title track, Bob states: "I often look to start and/or end recorded songs by setting a mood, vibe or sound effect that 'speaks.' In 'Skeletons In The Closet', you can hear the skeleton sounds in the beginning of the song, helping set the dark mood." "Can't Stop The Rock" "was written produced and recorded when David Eisley and I came up with the Sponge Bob song 'Sweet Victory'. This is another 'rock' lyric song but a fun one we came up with which went great with 'Sweet Victory' at that time." From Bob's SKULL days, "Guitar Commandos" sees him trading lead guitar licks with his brother Bruce. "It's basically a song about the road and touring," he says. Wrapping up the album, "Eyes Of A Stranger" is a song about how crazy love is. "The ups and downs of love, ya know, but also an uplifting and driving track to finish things off."

STONE SOUR has released an official video for the song "Rose Red Violent Blue (This Song Is Dumb & So Am I)", featured on the band's new album, "Hydrograd". The clip, which was directed by Ryan Valdez, includes a guest appearance by members of STEEL PANTHER.

"Hydrograd" was released on June 30 via Roadrunner Records. The disc was recorded at Sphere Studios in North Hollywood, California with producer Jay Ruston, who has previously worked with ANTHRAX and STEEL PANTHER. The band tracked the album live in the studio, cutting a total of eighteen songs from which fifteen made the CD.

STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor told iHeartRadio about "Hydrograd": "It is kind of a departure, but not really. To me, it's more of an evolution. It's taking everything that we've done on the last few albums, and really honing it down and turning that diversity into more cohesion and really finding the strength in the song to be able to express ourselves through all of these different genres that we've always dipped our toes in, whether it's hard rock, or heavy, or metal, or just rock and roll, or straight up punk, or even in one of the cases a bit of California country."

He added: "I don't think it's so much a departure, as it is just becoming more of what STONE SOUR really means."

Taylor went on to call "Hydrograd" "the best stuff that [STONE SOUR] has ever written." He explained: "I think the songwriting is stronger, I think the energy in the recording is better, and I think that comes down to the way we recorded it, which was live in the room. No click, no grid, no beat detective, no Auto-Tune, no fake guitar sounds, everything was real. That really allowed the songs to become very alive and very exciting. I also think that it's some of our strongest performances. Obviously, it's our first album with Christian [Martucci, guitar] and with Johny [Chow, bass], and those guys shine like crazy. And with Roy [Mayorga, drums], this is really his coming-out party. People are really going to start looking at him very differently. [He's] just one of the best drummers on the planet. Josh [Rand, guitar] [can be heard] really experimenting, doing all these crazy things. It's some of the best music that we've ever created as a band, and I hope that people listen to my singing and my writing and just can see where I'm at from a personal standpoint and from a professional standpoint. I feel like it's my best work that I've done in a long time and I don't really care if people don't hear it, say it's heavy or whatnot. It's just really good straight-up rock and roll, and it's amazing."

Regarding the "Hydrograd" title, Taylor told told Detroit radio station WRIF that he was running through an "antiquated" airport in Eastern Europe a few years ago where the gate info was "on those old-school '80s block-letter, number, digital horrible Timex watch kind of readers" and scrolling between different languages. As he ran past, Taylor thought he saw the word "Hydrograd."

Taylor said: "So my brain is trying to do geometry while also at a sprint because I don't wanna miss my plane. I pass one and I look up and I could have swore it said 'Hydrograd.' And I kept running for a second and I was, like, 'Hydrograd? Where the hell is Hydrograd? What?'"

Taylor eventually realized that the word wasn't "Hydrograd," recalling, "It didn’t even start with an 'H.' It wasn’t even close." But he still remembered the word, saying, "It’s a cool name. It was what I saw but didn’t really see."

At last year’s annual Morsefest in Nashville, the dream of every Spock’s Beard fan in attendance came true. The band’s original lineup, and current members, performed the critically acclaimed double-disc concept album, Snow, in its entirety. It was a moment in time fans never thought they’d ever get a chance to see. Snow was the last album that Neal Morse recorded with the band before quitting in 2002.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, WHITE ZOMBIE's two-million-copy-selling 1992 album "La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One" will receive a limited-edition twenty-fifth-anniversary vinyl pressing on September 29. Two thousand copies of the album will be made available on 180-gram purple vinyl. The LP was the horror-rock act's third full-length studio album and their major label debut, with the band having signed to Geffen Records the year before. It was also the group's commercial breakthrough, spawning the hits "Thunder Kiss '65" and "Black Sunshine".

Singer Rob Zombie and bassist Sean Yseult formed WHITE ZOMBIE in the mid-'80s on New York's Lower East Side. The band went through several lineup changes and issued several EPs and albums independently before becoming stars with "La Sexorcisto".

The band split in 1996, with Rob Zombie starting a solo career. He told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that his younger fans don't always know that he was in WHITE ZOMBIE. "I wouldn't normally think that but, like, if some kid's, like, fifteen, you know, WHITE ZOMBIE had broken up as a band when the kid was, like, eight or something so he doesn't remember it. So there's always confusion, like, 'Hey, was he in that band?' and 'What songs should I listen to?'"

Since launching his solo career in 1998, Rob Zombie has released six solo albums and directed seven feature films.

He recently disclosed that he has started working on the follow-up to last year's studio album "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser".

Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records has announced the worldwide signing of Brooklyn's doom metal trio, Eyes Of The Sun. After releasing their self-titled EP in 2010, and debut full-length Chapter I in 2013, the band is now poised to release their sophomore effort in 2018.

Eyes Of The Sun was conceived in early 2007 by bassist/vocalist Jeff Blanchard. Long-time friend Miguel De Jesus Jr. joined the ranks with Jeff a few months later on guitar. Within a few years, and after a couple of past members on second guitar and drums, Chris O'Neil joined as the permanent drummer. As a trio, they performed countless shows over the past 10 years, delivering their unique brand of doom metal - which leaves listeners with a range of emotions, that the band themselves then experience and extract from. The band explains: "It is known throughout the laws of science and nature that the sun creates and sustains life...Now it stands witness to the atrocities, depletion and vile consumption manifested by mankind, which it originally sustained life for. In our way, we portray what is seen through the Eyes Of The Sun."

Among the Amorphous is an album that lifts the bar in regards of storytelling and songwriting in the world of technical metal. The songs have a sinister David Lynch feel to them, while the massive sections of polyrhythmic Meshuggah-inspired sonances envelop the listener. In conclusion, the soundscape peaks with great evoking choruses that would even get Devin Townsend's stamp of approval. The Interbeing plunges into a futuristic music journey in which Dara Corcoran's constant shifting between growls, whispering, chanting and grand melodies makes this album one of the most ambitious albums in Danish metal in many years.

EMP Live conducted an interview with ARCH ENEMY singer Alissa White-Gluz at this year's edition of the Leyendas Del Rock festival, which was held August 9-12 at Polideportivo Municipal de Villena in Villena, Spain. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked what piece of advice she would give to young female singers trying to make it in the music business, Alissa said: "I think I would tell them, 'Don't doubt yourself.' Because there's gonna be plenty of other people that are gonna doubt you. Because you're a woman, they're gonna think you're only using your looks, or you're not pretty enough to use your looks, or you don't even like this kind of music, it's just a gimmick, or some record label put you together, or you're definitely in a relationship with one of the bandmembers. They're always gonna think that there's something going on just because you're a female. So what I would say is just don't doubt yourself. You know why you're there.

"Out of all the peers that I have, all the women that I know that are in bands, none of us did it because we're women; we did it because we love music and because we love singing or playing guitar or playing drums or whatever our talent is — that's why we do it," she continued. "And the amount of time that I spend thinking about the fact that I'm female is zero seconds a day. [Laughs] I don't wake up and go, 'I'm female. Let's see what the world has to offer today.' But, unfortunately, lots of other people do that. So it's just a matter of knowing who you are — remember who you are, and don't doubt yourself. Because other people will do it. But what matters is that you don't do it."

ARCH ENEMY's new album, "Will To Power", was released on September 8 via Century Media. Co-produced by guitarist and band leader Michael Amott and drummer Daniel Erlandsson, the disc was mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator and friend Jens Bogren (OPETH, AT THE GATES, DIMMU BORGIR). The album's cover artwork was designed by Alex Reisfar.

The Spokane Police Department's Special Victim's Unit (SVU) is looking for additional witnesses who may have seen what happened outside a downtown Spokane, Washington concert venue on the night of August 31 into the morning of September 1. Court documents say the Polish death metal band DECAPITATED kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman on a tour bus outside The Pin concert venue.

All four members of DECAPITATED — Michal Lysejko, 31, Waclaw Kieltyka, 35, Rafal Piotrowski, 31, and Hubert Wiecek, 30 — were in court in Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 12.

They were arrested at around 2 a.m. Saturday in Santa Ana, California after performing at the Observatory as part of the "Double Homicide" tour with THY ART IS MURDER.

Los Angeles County jail records show the four men were being held without bail. They were awaiting extradition to Spokane.

In court Tuesday afternoon, the bandmembers took turns in front of a judge agreeing to be extradited to Washington, according to KABC. They all had a Polish translator while a representative from the Polish consulate sat in the courtroom.

According to court documents obtained by The Spokesman-Review, the woman alleged she was gang-raped by the musicians in their tour bus bathroom. The woman said entered the bus for drinks with the band before each member forced themselves on her.

DECAPITATED's attorney released a statement Monday stating: "DECAPITATED plan to fully fight the allegations that have been brought against them and are confident that their side of the story will be heard."

Investigators have been monitoring social media posts surrounding the incident. The bus was located near the venue the band played at that night, The Pin, located at 412 W. Sprague. A number of those posts mention other people who may have been on the bus during the alleged crime, but were not active participants. Detectives are asking those witnesses who have not already spoken to investigators to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233. SVU Detectives are also asking witnesses that may have seen, photographed, or recorded any activity around the bus between 10:30 p.m. August 31 and 2:00 a.m. September 1 to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.

German/Dutch symphonic metallers XANDRIA have been forced to cancel their previously announced U.S. tour.

The trek was scheduled to kick off on September 29 in Buffalo, New York and conclude on October 21 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Says the band in a statement: "Some bad and some good news, folks. Starting with the bad news first: It comes with grief and sadness that our singer Dianne [Van Giersbergen] cannot perform with us for the time being.

"Sometimes these things are beyond your own power and there is a life offside the stages of the world which requires appropriate attention, so please bear with us.

"This, unfortunately, also means that we have to cancel the upcoming Russia shows in Moscow and St. Petersburg as well as the following U.S. tour in the end of September and October.

"We are already working on new dates for these stretches, yet can't determine an exact time window by now already.

"Please stay alerted for ticket-return info in here and where you purchased your tickets.

"As for short-term solutions: Our dear friend Aeva Maurelle of our buddies from symphonic metal band AEVERIUM will step in to rock with us the European dates in November and December.

"Please welcome Aeva with a warm applause. We will make these shows nights to remember for you all!

"Can't wait to see you out there!"

XANDRIA in 2013 parted ways with their singer of three years, Manuela Kraller, and replaced her with Dutch vocalist Dianne Van Giersbergen, who also fronts the progressive metal outfit EX LIBRIS.

Dianne Van Giersbergen made her live debut with XANDRIA at the end of November 2013 on a Spanish tour.

XANDRIA's latest album, "Theater Of Dimensions", was released on January 27 via Napalm Records.

Speaking about XANDRIA's songwriting approach, Dianne Van Giersbergen told Metalheads Forever: "I think diversity is a good thing though it should never be used when only based on a commercial purpose. It is most important to create what you yourself would love and what is pure to your heart, close to who you are. If you lose that then the music detached from both band and musician and will cause the fans to not believe the music and performance anymore."

As previously reported, METALLICA will reissue its third album, "Master Of Puppets", on November 10 via the band's own Blackened Recordings. The LP has been remastered for the most advanced sound quality and will be available in various digital and physical configurations.

The "Master Of Puppets" reissue will be available physically as a Standard LP, Standard CD, 3 CD Expanded Edition, and Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set and digitally as a Standard CD (available to stream and download), a 3 CD Expanded Edition (available for download only), and a Digital Deluxe Box Set (available for streaming and download). The Expanded Edition will include previously unreleased demos, rough mixes, interviews, live tracks, and a 28-page booklet. The Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set will include a 108-page hardcover book including never before seen photos, outtakes and previously unreleased interviews, three LPs, ten CDs, a cassette, two DVDs, a lithograph, a folder with handwritten lyrics, and a set of six buttons. "Master Of Puppets" was released on February 24, 1986 and was the first album METALLICA recorded after signing a major label deal with Elektra Records.

The set only reached No. 29 on the Billboard album chart but has sold over six million copies in the U.S. since.

It is the last record to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who was killed later that year in a tour bus crash.

Several songs from the album are still staples of METALLICA's live set, including "Battery", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and the title track.

Many fans consider it METALLICA's finest album, a fact that the band acknowledged by playing it in its entirety on a European tour in 2006.

FOO FIGHTERS performed in BBC Radio 1's "Live Lounge" on September 1.

Dave Grohl and his bandmates played their new single, "The Sky Is A Neighborhood", and classic FOO FIGHTERS song "Best Of You", before treating fans to a cover of AC/DC's "Let There Be Rock".

Canadian thrashers ANNIHILATOR will release their sixteenth studio album, "For The Demented", on November 3 via Neverland Music/Silver Lining Music. The follow-up to 2015's "Suicide Society" will be available in a limited-edition digipack with lenticular cover, a jewel-case CD, a twelve-inch, 180-gram colored vinyl in gatefold and digital download. Pre-orders will go live next week. "It was time to analyze what a lot of fans over the years have kept telling me," says ANNIHILATOR guitarist and main songwriter Jeff Waters. "It was time to sit down and figure out 'why' ANNIHILATOR's early 'thrash-meets-melodic' caught the ears of so many and to try to sweep the 'fan' part of my writing/playing/singing out the door and welcome back the mostly original Waters writing that was to be the first four ANNIHILATOR albums." Jeff continues: "Bottom line, 'For The Demented' captures some feel from ANNIHILATOR's 1985-87 demos mixed with the first four ANNIHILATOR records. Back to the thrash-meets-melody but with some pure Waters guitar riffing, upgraded lead guitar shredding and vocals back to the demo days meets the 'King of The Kill' record. Lyrically, I placed a theme on the record: the human mind and all of its glory, complexity, diversity, weaknesses and insanity! Pretty much the craziness of the music is matched by the lyrics. "I think metal fans are going to hear much of what they have been waiting for from ANNIHILATOR," adds Waters. "For The Demented" track listing:

Since 1989, ANNIHILATOR have not stopped putting out records and touring the world. Relapse Records has announced the vinyl reissue of DEATH's legendary fifth album, "Individual Thought Patterns". The reissue will be available as a standard single LP and a limited-edition deluxe 2xLP boxset. The deluxe version has been packaged into a limited-edition (500), one-time pressing deluxe vinyl box set containing "Individual Thought Patterns" remastered on the first LP plus a bonus second LP featuring select tracks from their "Live in Germany - April 13th 1993" performance and the studio outtake track "The Exorcist" (both on vinyl for the first time ever). The box set is housed in an exclusive jacket and includes expanded art. Both LPs are pressed on exclusive white inside of clear with baby pink, red and bronze splatter vinyl. DEATH, the heavy metal institution founded, realized, and helmed by legendary guitarist Chuck Schuldiner, released the "Individual Thought Patterns" album (the follow-up to their watershed "Human" release) in 1993. Expectations were high following "Human", but Schuldiner proved once again that he could rise to any occasion. "Individual Thought Patterns" further honed the forward-thinking and progressive direction birthed with "Human", and included "The Philosopher", arguably DEATH's most widely recognized song.
