BLACKMORE'S NIGHT: 'Winter Carols' Re-Release To Include Three New Recordings

BLACKMORE'S NIGHT: 'Winter Carols' Re-Release To Include Three New Recordings

Ritchie Blackmore has been known worldwide for his guitar shredding in DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW. He has also shown hints of his penchant for medieval music in both of those bands. That 18th and 19th Century love, though, has only truly come to the fore within the acoustic context of his "renaissance rock" project, BLACKMORE'S NIGHT. Together with his wife, award-winning vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Candice Night (often compared to Stevie Nicks and Karen Carpenter), BLACKMORE'S NIGHT is currently celebrating the band's twentieth anniversary.

Passionate about the musical melodies and styles of the past, combined with their love for the spirit of the holiday season, they recorded "Winter Carols" to share with their fans, friends and BLACKMORE'S NIGHT families. "Winter Carols" is holiday music at its best, performed and sung as it was hundreds of years ago, when the peasants and royalty alike shared the jovial spirit of the holidays.

For this very special re-release of their holiday album (out on digital formats on September 22, on CD October 13), BLACKMORE'S NIGHT included three brand new recordings of "Deck The Halls", "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Oh Christmas Tree". Each song, arranged by Ritchie Blackmore, is lovingly filtered through the BLACKMORE'S NIGHT prism, given an eclectic renaissance touch topped with Candice Night's ethereal vocals.

It's this love of renaissance-based and classical melodies that endears BLACKMORE'S NIGHT to hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide. Their unique genre is classified as "fantasy music for all ages."

"The holiday season has always embodied joy, love, peace and togetherness," says Candice. "We are entranced by the magic of the season. The sentiments of the holidays are what we try to express in our music year round — so this CD is a natural progression. All the music we craft and create has always been about love, unity and friendship. These songs as a whole are beautiful unifying carols. Feel the warmth of friendship! Everyone can join in."

"The origin of the word 'carol' means 'dance','" adds Ritchie. "I am naturally attracted to these melodies. As a kid, I would go from house to house during the holiday time and sing them just to earn some money. As an adult, I thought I could play them and make more money!"

Track listing:

01. Deck The Halls02. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen03. Oh Christmas Tree 04. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing/Come All Ye Faithful 05. I Saw Three Ships 06. Winter (Basse Dance)07. REVOLUTION SAINTS Feat. DEEN CASTRONOVO, DOUG ALDRICH, JACK BLADES: 'I Wouldn't Change A Thing' Video

REVOLUTION SAINTS Feat. DEEN CASTRONOVO, DOUG ALDRICH, JACK BLADES: 'I Wouldn't Change A Thing' Video

REVOLUTION SAINTS, the band featuring Deen Castronovo (JOURNEY, BAD ENGLISH), Doug Aldrich (THE DEAD DAISIES, WHITESNAKE, DIO), and Jack Blades (NIGHT RANGER, DAMN YANKEES), will release its second album, "Light In The Dark", on October 13 via Frontiers Music Srl.

The official video for the song "I Wouldn't Change A Thing" can be seen below. "Light In The Dark" will be available on CD, CD/DVD deluxe edition (includes live bonus tracks on the CD and on the DVD, footage from the band's first-ever live performance captured at Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan this past April, a "making-of" mini-documentary, and music videos for "Light In The Dark" and "I Wouldn't Change A Thing"), vinyl, and as a special limited-edition box set (includes the deluxe edition CD/DVD, 180-gram vinyl, T-shirt [size L], poster, lithograph and sticker). For "Light In The Dark", REVOLUTION SAINTS once again teamed up with producer/songwriter Alessandro Del Vecchio (HARDLINE, JORN), who was also behind the boards for the band's debut album. Most of "Light In The Dark" was recorded at Del Vecchio's studios in Somma Lombardo, Italy, with additional recording taking place at Blades's studio in Washington, Aldrich's CasaDala studio in Los Angeles, and other countries all over the world while Aldrich was on tour with THE DEAD DAISIES. "This is a fun band!" exclaims Blades. "I think the fans are going to pick up on the excitement and the sheer musical enjoyment we are having. It was great going to Italy to get the album started and film the videos, and the music speaks for itself." "'Light In The Dark' is such a great song," says Castronovo. "It was the first one we recorded. We ran through it a few times and nailed it in the first couple takes.

"We're so excited for everyone to hear this record. We're very happy with what we came up with and can't wait to bring it to everyone live." As Aldrich proclaims: "I'm very excited about REVOLUTION SAINTS' second record! First, I want to say that it's because of huge support from the fans that RS2 happened. Thank you. If you liked #1, I think you'll love this one even more. It's stronger, and a bit heavier in some spots. We tried a few new things and we can't wait for our fans to hear it! There's a very good chance we'll finally get to play live and we're currently exploring the possibilities of a tour. For now, get ready, because the album kicks ass and it's comin' at you real soon!" REVOLUTION SAINTS was born from the vision of Frontiers' president, Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project highlighting Castronovo's amazing vocal abilities. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Deen, Jack and Doug on board together was a dream come true for Perugino. This time, with one album already under their belt, REVOLUTION SAINTS entered the studio to record the new album more familiar with one another and a clear understanding of where they wanted this to go. As with the first album, Castronovo's superb vocal talents are in the spotlight on this release and deservedly so. Pretty impressive for a man who is most widely known for his incredible drumming talents. Blades really needs no introduction at this point, but for those who have been living under a rock, his bass and vocal talents are well documented over the years through his work with NIGHT RANGER, DAMN YANKEES, SHAW/BLADES, and more. And, of course, a major feature is the fiery and intense playing from former WHITESNAKE and DIO guitarist Doug Aldrich, whose blistering guitar fretwork is on full display here. "Light In The Dark" builds off the classic melodic rock style of the debut, but fans should prepare for a somehow even more inspired set and a few (pleasant) surprises. Inspiring, uplifting, emotionally powerful, and thoughtful, this album will be the soundtrack to many a moment in your life. "Light In The Dark" track listing: 01. Light In The Dark02. Freedom03. Ride On04. I Wouldn't Change A Thing05. Don's Surrender06. Take You Down07. The Storm Inside08. Can't Run Away From Love09. Running On The Edge10. Another Chance11. Falling Apart12. BELPHEGOR Releases Video For 'Baphomet'

BELPHEGOR Releases Video For 'Baphomet'

The official video for the song "Baphomet" from European diabolical death/black metal kings BELPHEGOR can be seen below. The clip was shot and edited by Polish company Grupa13 (AMON AMARTH, BEHEMOTH, KREATOR, ELUVEITIE).

"Baphomet" is taken from BELPHEGOR's new album, "Totenritual", which was released on September 15 via Nuclear Blast. The disc was recorded at Stage One Studios in Germany and Studio Mischmaschine in Austria and was mixed by Jason Suecof and mastered by Mark Lewis at Audiohammer Studios in Florida.

The artwork was once again created by Greek artist Seth Siro Anton, who also painted the cover artwork for 2006's "Pestokalypse VI" and 2014's "Conjuring The Dead". Check it out below.

BELPHEGOR singer, guitarist and founder Helmuth Lehner states: "It is the most brutally heavy offering we have consecrated thus far. The drums are precise and very technical with loads of breaks, fills and tempo changes. The bass is like a panzer tank. Also, the rhythm guitars are utterly aggressive and obscure. You don't hear guitars like that anywhere with such a massively low tuning."

The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. Baphomet02. The Devil's Son03. Swinefever - Regent Of Pigs04. Apophis - Black Dragon05. Totenkult - Exegesis Of Deterioration06. Totenbeschwörer [Instrumental]07. Spell Of Reflection 08. Embracing A Star09. Totenritual

BUTCHER BABIES Release 'Lilith' Video

BUTCHER BABIES Release 'Lilith' Video

"Lilith", the new video from BUTCHER BABIES, can be seen below. The song is the title track of the band's third album, "Lilith", which will be released on October 27 via Century Media. The follow-up to 2015's "Take It Like A Man" was produced by Steve Evetts (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SEPULTURA, SUICIDE SILENCE) and marks the band's recording debut with new drummer, Chase Brickenden, who replaced Chris Warner last year.

Pre-orders for "Lilith" are available now in both physical and digital formats.

"Lilith" track listing:

01. Burn The Straw Man02. Lilith03. Headspin04. Korova05. #Iwokeuplikethis06. The Huntsman07. Controller08. Oceana09. Look What We've Done10. Pomona (S**t Happens)11. Underground And Overrated

BUTCHER BABIES co-vocalist Heidi Shepherd stated about "Lilith": "After a year of writing and recording, we are thrilled with the growth and maturity of this album. Leading with our title track, 'Lilith', the artistic development within the band shines.

"We worked with producer, Steve Evetts, to bring you the rawest form of BUTCHER BABIES. No Auto-Tune, a hundred percent real drums, real guitars, real bass, and an all-out BUTCHER BABIES assault on your senses. As we know in this industry, these standards are quickly replaced by machines and can eliminate what makes a band an actual band.

"We are so proud of the hard work and dedication that each member of our team put in to create this masterpiece."

BUTCHER BABIES co-vocalist Carla Harvey told Meltdown Of Detroit's WRIF radio station that the music on BUTCHER BABIES' upcoming disc "runs the gamut" from "great thrash metal" to "a little bit of '90s influence." She said: "We're singing, we're screaming and it's just a great, great album. I couldn't be prouder of it. I think there's four songs where we do predominantly singing on it. And normally that would scare even me, 'cause I'm, like, 'I'm a metal girl! I don't wanna be singing.' But it's so beautiful — it really is. So it's kind of ballady, but not too ballady. It's very dark, sensual — the lyrics are very sensual on this album."

She continued: "I think we're bringing a little bit of the sexy back on this album that we kind of steered away from for a while. When we were building up our career, we wanted to be taken so seriously as metal chicks, so I think we kind of let those hindrances go a little bit and said, 'Let's just be us in all aspects of us' — from the metal to the sexy to everything else."

Although there is a lot of variety on BUTCHER BABIES' upcoming effort, Carla is quick to point out that "I couldn't do an album with no thrash on it, 'cause that's my passion. I think my favorite song on the album is a completely ridiculous thrash metal song that you'll hear," she said. "It's just amazing. In fact, one line in the song is about my Corvette that is always broken down. I have a '75 Corvette, 'cause I'm a real Detroit girl with a real American car. The song has completely ridiculous lyrics, but it's so cool — total thrash."

Carla said that BUTCHER BABIES next album will contain eleven songs, with an extra track for Japan. The disc's first single has "got a super-sexy rhythm to it," according to Harvey. "But everything is still… When you hear the album, you say, 'That's definitely BUTCHER BABIES.'"

Regarding BUTCHER BABIES' collaboration with Evetts, Carla said: "He doesn't do any Auto-Tuning or any pitching or anything like that, so every note on this album is a hundred percent authentic. And it's really cool to be able to say that about an album nowadays, I think, because people are so used to hearing everything Auto-Tuned and touched up and fixed up. This album is exactly what we've always wanted to do — it's something passionate and raw — and we're all just over the moon for it."

She added: "That's the one thing that we've always wanted to capture, because I think that we're a great live band, and when you're a good live band, you wanna capture that energy, and we finally found a producer that can help harness that live energy, actually, into the album."

According to Carla, Chase's addition to BUTCHER BABIES contributed to the upcoming album being "just on another level." She explained: "He's just a great, great, great drummer with all kinds of new ideas, and we blend really well together. And we actually toured with Chase on our very first tour with OTEP years and years ago, so we're all old friends already and he just fit in seamlessly."

Shepherd stated about the "Lilith" title and cover artwork, which can be seen below: "Historically, Lilith has become demonized as a representation of promiscuity and disobedience. We, however, see her as a positive figure. A symbol of autonomy, sexual equality, and full control over your own destiny.

"Lilith is the supreme representation of the left-hand path woman: independent, having discarded the patriarchal yoke, and not afraid to use all the tools available to her, including her sexuality, to gain the most out of existence. The eels in the cover art represent sleek symbolism of new beginnings and adventure.

"With this album, we have musically taken a leap through old boundaries and landed in new oceans. It is said that a the dream or visions of eels is confirmation that the path we currently lead is the right one.

"In this new chapter of BUTCHER BABIES, we welcome evolution as we bare ourselves with 'Lilith'."

Added Harvey: "When we were thinking of titles for our album, we wanted to find something that embodied sensuality, lust, danger and power. We kept going back to Lilith. We researched Lilith and her origins in different cultures and forms and knew that this figure, once feared but now a beautiful, symbolic middle finger to repression, would be a perfect representation of our album.

"The cover art we created with our graphic artist perfectly pulls together the last year we've spent working on 'Lilith'.

"I've always loved water themes and there is something terrifying yet calming about the deep sea; submersing yourself in it could be the death of you, yet at the same time it's cleansing and renewing.

"With this album we dove in fully and drowned ourselves in emotion, sexuality and even turmoil, and let the two-headed beast we created has emerged even stronger."

BUTCHER BABIES will support HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD on a U.S. tour which will kick off on October 1 in Atlanta, Georgia.

RAMMSTEIN Guitarist On Upcoming Album: 'I Feel Like It's Gonna Be The Last Record We Do'

RAMMSTEIN Guitarist On Upcoming Album: 'I Feel Like It's Gonna Be The Last Record We Do'

RAMMSTEIN guitarist Richard Kruspe says that the band's upcoming album could be its last.

The German industrial metallers are working on what will be their seventh studio disc — and in an interview with Resurrection Fest in July, Kruspe spoke about how the follow-up to 2009's "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" was shaping up.

"I was very skeptical to go back with RAMMSTEIN into the studio, because last time we almost broke up because of making a record," the guitarist admitted (see video below). "So it's just always very, very stressful and painful. And I think going through that experience, I was a little nervous about that. And we came up with a deal, or an agreement. We said that we wanna go back and only record maybe five songs, to not put any pressure on us.

"We started, like, two years ago, and I can say just playing with the guys, for some reason, it was very natural and I had a lot of fun," he continued. "And since then, we've just created around twenty-eight ideas — I wouldn't say 'songs,' but ideas. And somehow we managed to move back to the beginning of the world of RAMMSTEIN where we, basically, are very emotional and very enthusiastic about writing again. It wasn't like that before. We came back to a point that everyone is really respecting the other one, and it feels kind of like a circle almost, that we start from zero again, which feels nice. It's kind of like you've been through all the problems, which you have when you play with the same lineup for twenty-two years, which is difficult. A lot of bands, they can't really stay there, they're changing people, and we don't really believe in that. We've been through a lot of downs, and there were probably a lot of moments where I felt like, 'I don't wanna do it anymore, I don't wann be in a band anymore,' but somehow we've managed it, through talking and communication, to stay together. So here we are, writing and feeling very good about it, so I'm pleased."

Regarding the overall direction of the new RAMMSTEIN material, Kruspe said: "Of course, a band wants to always do the best album [it can] do at the moment. This time, what we're really gonna do is we'll try changing the producer team. We've worked with our producer for the last six records, and this time we felt like we need a chance, so at the moment we're meeting new producers and finding what is the best for the team at the moment.

"I just feel like, for some reason, that it's gonna be the last record we do. That's a feeling — I can be wrong, but just at the moment, I feel like this is maybe the last [shot at making an album] we have, and I wanna give two hundred percent in that and make it as good as it can be," he added. "When I listen to the stuff, there's so much potential, and I'm very pleased about what we do at the moment. So I'm looking really forward to start recording maybe next year."

According to Kruspe, RAMMSTEIN didn't play many shows so far in 2017 because the band "toured last year, all the festivals, and so there were three people in the band that didn't wanna tour and there were three people in the band that wanna tour. So we made a compromise that… We said we don't wanna do as much shows as last year. So that's why we only played, I think, twenty, twenty-five shows this year.

"In RAMMSTEIN, it's a democracy, so everyone has a vote," he explained. "And if you have three saying 'yes' and three saying 'no,' you have to have a compromise, so that's what we did."

Kruspe also talked about why it takes RAMMSTEIN so long to release new music compared to some other bands.

"There's a different reason for everything, obviously," he said. "First of all, the music industry has changed a lot. It used to be that the main income for bands would be making records and selling records. That has changed. Secondly, we always believed, and we didn't have any other chances to believe in our show. In the beginning of RAMMSTEIN, nobody would play any songs on the radio, nobody would take our videos and show 'em on TV — we had a lot of trouble with that — so the only chance we had was to really focus on our live show. And we didn't know at this point that it would have changed after [so many] years. Our focus was always playing live in the beginning.

"As a European, or a German band especially, you have to tour much more than other, American bands," he continued. "They play their market and then they come to Europe and play maybe two or whatever, five or ten, shows — that's it. So we always had to play the European market and go back to America, so we played much more, I guess. So we always had a different rhythm. And also, the other reason is that when we do a record, it takes forever, because, again, we're six members that have six different opinions about everything and everyone in the band thinks that he's on the right path. So it's a lot of discussion and compromising — it takes a lot of time until we finish a record. But at the moment, we're really in a situation that we don't have to do it. We're really kind of privileged to not having any pressure — there's no record companies or managements or something; it's only us that put pressure on us. And we're at that point in our lives that we kind of feel that we wanna be sure that what we do is worth putting out. And we also wanna have the freedom to say, 'You know what? That's not good enough. Let's just don't do it.' It's a real privilege to do so, and I'm happy that we're in this situation."

The guitarist revealed that making a new RAMMSTEIN album requires "a lot of communication, a lot of love and a lot of reflection about yourself. I mean, there were times I needed distance," he said. "I moved to New York at one point of my life just to see the bigger picture. It's very important that you realize and to overcome your ego, [to] see the bigger picture with the band and see what it needs. And sometimes you have to realize that doing more is not even the best formula for the band at the moment. Sometimes you have to step back. It's just constantly like therapy with yourself, with the band. Fifty percent of our time, we're pretty much talking about stuff."

RAMMSTEIN last year played a number of concerts where the band opened each show with a brand new song, presently only known as "Ramm 4". The track contains lyrics that seem to be a combination of various titles of previous RAMMSTEIN songs.

RAMMSTEIN released a new concert DVD and Blu-ray, "Paris", on May 19. The set was recorded in March 2012 at the then-named Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris (now AccorHotels Arena) during RAMMSTEIN's "Made In Germany" tour, and was helmed by the band's longtime collaborator, Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund.

LINKIN PARK Announces Concert In Honor Of CHESTER BENNINGTON

LINKIN PARK Announces Concert In Honor Of CHESTER BENNINGTON

LINKIN PARK has announced a special show in honor of its bandmate and friend, Chester Bennington. The one-night-only celebration will take place in Los Angeles, at the legendary Hollywood Bowl on Friday, October 27.

The singular event marks the first time the five members will be performing on stage together since Chester passed on July 20. The band will be joined by a number of other artists, for an unforgettable night of music to honor the man who touched the lives of so many around the world.

The individual band members intend to contribute their fees from the event to Music For Relief's One More Light Fund in memory of Chester.

Pre-sale for tickets begins Tuesday, September 19, and general on-sale Friday, September 22.

The official video for the title track of LINKIN PARK's latest album, "One More Light", premiered this morning on the band's social pages. Initially, the song had not been scheduled as a single, but the strong connection with fans in the weeks following Bennington's passing brought the track to the forefront.

Directed by LINKIN PARK's Joe Hahn, and longtime band videographer Mark Fiore, the video not only reflects on the memory of Chester, but also the comradery of the band, the people they work with, and the community that has given them strength.

"It has been incredibly emotional to work on this, and especially to watch it," says Hahn. "I feel that by doing it, we not only faced some of our biggest fears, but it enabled us to use our talents to bring some light to people who need it.

"As we move forward to the Hollywood Bowl show and beyond, I think about the people who connect with the band, outside and inside our circle. This video is a gesture of good will to the people who want that connection."

"'One More Light' was written with the intention of sending love to those who lost someone. We now find ourselves on the receiving end," says LINKIN PARK co-vocalist Mike Shinoda. "In memorial events, art, videos, and images, fans all over the world have gravitated towards this song as their declaration of love and support for the band and the memory of our dear friend, Chester. We are so very grateful and can't wait to see you again."

San Francisco Bay Area metal titans MACHINE HEAD have announced the first U.S. tour dates of their world tour in support of their upcoming album, "Catharsis".

Vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn states: "It's been far too long since we've demolished venues in America.

"We have had an awesome and productive break writing our new album, 'Catharsis', but now it's time for MACHINE HEAD to go melt some faces!

"The reaction to our last 'Evening With' tours in America were nothing short of incredible, so once again these dates will be 'Evening With' and will see us performing two and a half to three hours every night with no opening bands.

"We loved performing as an 'Evening With' for you Head Cases, and you guys loved it as well, the freedom to do whatever the fuck we wanted for as long as we wanted every night was liberating. It's not what everyone else is doing, and frankly, there are not a lot of bands who could even pull it off, but MACHINE HEAD can pull it off, and we are excited as fuck to do it again. We are carving our own path here, playing by our own rules, and as an artist, it's the best feeling in the world!

"No festivals, period, no forty-five-minute slots, no supporting some stupid DJ, no parking lots in a rainstorm, The Head will only be 'headlining,' so come on down and rage!!"

MACHINE HEAD's ninth full-length album, "Catharsis" was recorded with Zack Ohren (FALLUJAH, ALL SHALL PERISH) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California. A January 2018 release via Nuclear Blast is expected.

MACHINE HEAD's latest track, "Is There Anybody Out There?", cracked the Top 40 on the Active Rock chart in the United States in August 2016. It marked the first time any Nuclear Blast artist has entered what is widely considered to be the "official rock chart" for the United States, and only the the third time the band had charted in the Top 40 in their illustrious career.

MACHINE HEAD last year wrapped up the tour cycle for its first Nuclear Blast Entertainment album, "Bloodstone & Diamonds", where the band toured for twenty months and performed a whopping two hundred and eighty-three concerts on five different continents around the world. Around two hundred and fifti of those shows were performed as "An Evening With MACHINE HEAD," with no support bands and performances often lasting two and a half to three hours. Three tours of the United States, three tours of Europe, (including multiple dates in Russia and Greece), shows in Mexico and South America, a completely sold-out run of nine Australian / New Zealand shows, sold-out dates in Japan, and their first-ever plays in Taiwan and Thailand, and all without any festival performances which the band publicly announced they would stop performing at in 2014.

"Bloodstone & Diamonds" debuted at No. 21 on The Billboard 200 chart with 19,000 sold its first week.

AEROSMITH: Unauthorized 'In Full Flight' Photo Book Coming In November

AEROSMITH: Unauthorized 'In Full Flight' Photo Book Coming In November

Wymer Publishing has set a November 30 release date for "Aerosmith In Full Flight", a pictorial document as seen through the lens of British photographer Tony Mottram.

Tony photographed the band over many years for various magazines. As was often the case, only one photo ever got published. In the fast-moving world of weekly magazines, sometimes entire sessions would be done and left undeveloped.

Tony started shooting AEROSMITH from toward the end of the period with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay and onwards through the return of original members Joe Perry and Brad Whitford that resulted in the albums "Done With Mirrors", "Permanent Vacation" and "Pump".

As well as featuring photos of the band shot several times in England, this collection includes images from a session at the band's rehearsal room in Boston. Littered throughout is a mixture of live and offstage photos, including a selection of photos taken at London's famous Marquee club when they were joined on stage with Jimmy Page.

This limited-edition hardback book, presented in a flight case, is an opportunity to own a unique selection of photos, most of which have never seen the light of day before.

Earlybird subscribers who order by October 31 will have their name printed within a dedicated page in the book.

According to Wymer, "Aerosmith In Full Flight" has not been authorized or approved by AEROSMITH or the band's management.

DAVID LEE ROTH Performs At 'Summer Spectacular Under The Stars' (Video)

DAVID LEE ROTH Performs At 'Summer Spectacular Under The Stars' (Video)

VAN HALEN singer David Lee Roth performed at last weekend's Summer Spectacular Under The Stars. The September 9 invitation-only event at a private estate in Beverly Hills, California was hosted by Mario Lopez and saw Roth delivering a four-song set consisting of his solo cover singles "Just A Gigolo" and "California Girls" as well as the VAN HALEN classics "Ice Cream Man" and "Jump".

The annual gala raised over $1 million for drug awareness and prevention.

The foundation and its signature Brent's Club program works in conjunction with The Boys & Girls Club Of America to provide incentives for kids to abstain from drugs.

Robert and Linell Shapiro created the Brent Shapiro Foundation following their son Brent's death to honor his life and promote prevention and awareness of chemical dependence.

The foundation's mission is to save lives through awareness and effective programs that incentivize kids to abstain from drugs and alcohol.

VAN HALEN has been inactive since it completed its U.S. tour in October 2015 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.

The trek was VAN HALEN's first since an aborted North American run three years earlier in support of its then-new studio album, "A Different Kind Of Truth".

Released in 2015 was "Tokyo Dome In Concert", VAN HALEN's first-ever live collection featuring Roth, despite numerous pro-shot concerts from the band's original heyday being heavily booted for years.

No New NAPALM DEATH Album Before Late 2018, Says BARNEY GREENWAY

No New NAPALM DEATH Album Before Late 2018, Says BARNEY GREENWAY

Vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway of British extreme metal legends NAPALM DEATH was recently interviewed by Australia's Sticks For Stones. You can now listen to the chat below.

Asked about the recent revelation on the NAPALM DEATH Facebook page that the band was back at Parlour Studios in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England recording its next album, Greenway said: "This is one of the, I say, problems in small letters with social media sometimes. As soon as you put a post like that, people just kind of think — understandably so — that you've got a [bunch] of new songs ready to go. Well, we haven't. It's very preliminary stages. I mean, basically, we're at the point where Shane [Embury, bass] went into the studio with Danny [Herrera, drums] and basically laid a load of stuff down that he'd been thinking of doing. So there may be some material that never sees the light of day. I just don't know, 'cause I haven't actually heard it yet. I've got the stuff, but I haven't actually sat down and listened to it yet. So there's nothing approaching any complete songs. And the reality is that it won't even surface probably till later next year, I would have thought. So it's gonna be a while yet."

Greenway recently told Metal Wani that NAPALM DEATH guitarist Mitch Harris, who has been taking a leave of absence from the band since late 2014 to focus on his family life, will "most likely" play on the group's next album.

Harris took an indefinite break in the fall of 2014 to tend to a family situation and Wikipedia initially wrongly scrubbed him from the band roster. He has since been temporarily replaced by John Cooke (CORRUPT MORAL ALTAR).

NAPALM DEATH's last album, "Apex Predator - Easy Meat", was released in January 2015 via Century Media Records.

CHESTER BENNINGTON Shown Laughing In Family Video Just Hours Before His Suicide

CHESTER BENNINGTON Shown Laughing In Family Video Just Hours Before His Suicide

Chester Bennington's widow has posted a video of the late LINKIN PARK singer filmed hours before he took his own life.

On Saturday, Talinda Bennington shared a forty-second clip on Twitter showing her husband laughing and having fun with his family as they experiment with different-tasting jelly beans.

"This is what depression looked like to us just 36 hrs b4 his death," Talinda captioned the post. "He loved us SO much & we loved him."

Less than two days later, Chester, a father of six, committed suicide.

Before posting the video, Talinda wrote: "My next tweet is the most personal tweet I have ever done. I'm showing this so that you know that depression doesn't have a face or a mood."

Using the hashtags #FuckDepression and #MakeChesterProud, Talinda is growing an online community that is there to support people with depression, and people who have been impacted by a loved one's depression or suicide.

Chester and Talinda had three children together, Tyler Lee, 11, and Lila and Lilly, both of whom are 6.

The rocker was found dead in his Los Angeles-area home on July 20.

Bennington's private funeral service took place on July 29 near his home in Palos Verdes, California. It was attended by five hundred guests, including members of all three bands he sang in: LINKIN PARK, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and DEAD BY SUNRISE.

GHOST's New Album Is On Track For An April 2018 Release, Says TOBIAS FORGE

GHOST's New Album Is On Track For An April 2018 Release, Says TOBIAS FORGE

GHOST lead singer and founder Tobias Forge — who performs as Papa Emeritus and does the act's interviews disguised as a member of his backing band of Nameless Ghouls — says that he has spent the last few weeks working on the group's much-anticipated fourth album for an early 2018 release. "We've been in the studio for about a month now," Forge revealed after accepting the "Metal Anthem" award at this year's German edition of the Metal Hammer Awards, which was held last night (Friday, September 15) in Berlin. "And by the end of the year, if everything goes according to plan — knock, knock — we're gonna have a new album, not out, but we're gonna have a new recorded and mixed and delivered. And hopefully that means that we're gonna have a new album out by April — possibly, hopefully."

Forge recently told the Albuquerque Journal that even as he is recording GHOST's fourth studio album, he's thinking about the one after that. He explained: "It's a pick and mix of a lot of different ideas and stuff laying around, a lot of new stuff being added to the pile. Yeah, it's a constant thinking ahead, and now, already now, I'm thinking about album number five, because there are songs coming out now or coming up being written that I feel like that won't fit into the new album, so I'll put that one on to the next one instead."

Forge hinted at the lyrical themes of the next record, saying: "Having in mind that the previous record was about the absence of God or the absence of deities, this new one is going to be about the return of God. You know God's wrath cast upon the suffering humans, so it will be a little bit more biblical in that sense, which in turn makes it darker, a little bit more apocalyptic, I think."

Forge told the Dallas Observer that GHOST's plan is to come back to America in April or May of 2018. "We have a tendency to do American tours in April, so we like that tradition," he said. "It's a good one and we'd like to keep doing that."

Forge recently revealed his identity while responding to a lawsuit filed by four former members of GHOST, who accused him of cheating them out of their rightful share of the profits from the group's album releases and world tours.

In his court documents, Forge — who had previously played in several other rock bands, including REPUGNANT, CRASHDIET, SUBVISION, MAGNA CARTA CARTEL and SUPERIOR — took credit for developing GHOST's image and stage show and blamed his ex-bandmates for "destroying the mystery" surrounding the group by lifting the lid on GHOST's business dealings. GHOST is known for its eccentric performances and is composed of six members easily recognized for their satanic attires. Five men who call themselves as Nameless Ghouls play the instruments while the lead vocalist is known as Papa Emeritus. The Nameless Ghouls who are wearing identical devil masks and costumes represent the five instrumentalities or elements (fire, water, air, earth and aether or quintessence) while their leader Papa Emeritus represents the group's anti-pope symbol.

Watch ACE FREHLEY Reunite With His Former FREHLEY'S COMET Bandmates In Poughkeepsie

Watch ACE FREHLEY Reunite With His Former FREHLEY'S COMET Bandmates In Poughkeepsie

Ace Frehley reunited with his former FREHLEY'S COMET bandmates John Regan and Tod Howarth to perform the songs "Rock Soldiers" and "Cold Gin" during the original KISS guitarist's concert last night (Friday, Sepember 15) in Poughkeepsie, New York. Fan-filmed video footage can be seen below.

Frehley, whose current solo band features another ex-FREHLEY'S COMET member, guitarist Richie Scarlet, headlined a three-band bill at The Chance theater, with FOUR BY FATE, which features Regan and Howarth, providing direct support.

Speaking to Tigman of the Q103 radio station in Albany, New York on Thursday (September 14), Frehley stated about reconnecting with his former bandmates: "They're gonna get up and play a couple of songs with us. Originally, they [FOUR BY FATE] were gonna open up more shows, but it didn't work out. But I think [Friday] night is gonna be a special night. It's the first time I've played on stage with John and Tod in a very long time."

Scarlet was in FREHLEY'S COMET from 1984 to 1985 and played in three of the band's seven different lineups. Howarth was in FREHLEY'S COMET from 1986 to 1988 and was in the group's last three lineups. Both Frehley and Regan were members of FREHLEY'S COMET for the duration of the band's four-year existence.

Ace recently collaborated with KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons on two songs for the former KISS guitarist's next solo album, tentatively due in 2018.

Three Members Of ANGEL Reunite For PUNKY MEADOWS's 'Lost And Lonely' Video, Single

Three Members Of ANGEL Reunite For PUNKY MEADOWS's 'Lost And Lonely' Video, Single

Seminal guitarist Punky Meadows (ex-ANGEL) will release a new single, "Lost And Lonely", on September 18. The track features three members of ANGEL — Meadows, vocalist Frank DiMino, and bassist Felix Robinson — as well as Punky's bandmembers Danny Farrow, Charlie Calv and Bob Pantella, who all performed on the song.

A video for "Lost And Lonely" was filmed at The Chance theater in Poughkeepsie, New York. The clip, which can be seen below, marks the first time since 1980 that three members of ANGEL appear together in a music video.

The video was shot by Jeffery Moore, who co-directed with Danny Farrow.

"Man, we had such a great time shooting our latest video with Frank, Felix and the guys," says Punky.

"Danny and I talked about doing this video for a while. We thought it would be something special for not only the fans of my band, but for the many ANGEL fans as well. Frank really delivered on this track, and the whole band kicked ass!!!"

An autographed limited special edition of Meadows's "Fallen Angel" full CD with the Frank DiMino version of "Lost And Lonely" can be ordered at www.mainmanrecords.com.

In other news, Punky and his band just signed with The Artery Foundation artist management, and will be working on many new exciting things together, including a slew of shows for 2018.

Punky and his band will be playing a special show November 10 at the Debonair Music Hall (Mexicali Live) in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Former members of ANGEL appeared at the Vegas Rocks! Hair Metal Awards in May 2016 at the at the Eastside Cannery Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The group received the "Glam Rock Legends" award in honor of their contributions and influence in music. Accepting the award were Meadows, DiMino, Gregg Giuffria, Barry Brandt, and Robinson. This marked the first time all surviving ANGEL bandmembers — bassist Mickie Jones passed away from cancer in 2009 — had been on stage together since 1980.

Formed in 1975 by Meadows and Jones in Washington D.C., ANGEL straddled the fence between the prog-rock pomp of YES and ELP, the orchestral hard pop of QUEEN, BOSTON and ELO, and the riff-heavy raunch-rock of KISS and AEROSMITH. They were discovered by KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons while performing at a nightclub and were eventually signed to the same label as KISS, Casablanca.

Released in the fall of 1975, the band's self-titled debut was promoted with a number of live appearances on the great American arena circuit with the likes of AEROSMITH, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, JOURNEY and RUSH. The group's gimmick — the members were all dressed in white — got them labeled the "anti-KISS" by rock critics, and their spectacular stage show was so over the top that even Simmons & Co. were said to have been inspired by it.

ANGEL started to fall apart in the early 1980s after Casablanca pulled the plug on the group due in part to disappointing album sales. In 1981, Robinson and DiMino left to pursue other projects. Meadows and Giuffria tried to keep ANGEL going and came close to landing a record deal with CBS. But it didn't pan out, and ANGEL finally disbanded.

Watch MEGADETH Perform At Madison Square Garden

Fan-filmed video footage of MEGADETH's September 16 concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City can be seen below.

MEGADETH's tour with SCORPIONS kicked off Thursday night (September) 14 in Reading, Pennsylvania and will conclude on October 15 in Tampa, Florida. The sixteen-date trek, dubbed the "Crazy World Tour", celebrates SCORPIONS' 1990 LP of the same name.

"Dystopia" was the first album to feature Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro, best known for his work with ANGRA.

SCORPIONS: Quality Video Footage Of 'Crazy World' North American Tour Kick-Off

SCORPIONS: Quality Video Footage Of 'Crazy World' North American Tour Kick-Off

SCORPIONS kicked off their North American tour with MEGADETH on Thursday, September 14 at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. The sixteen-date trek, dubbed the "Crazy World Tour", celebrates SCORPIONS' 1990 LP of the same name. Two of the SCORPIONS' best-known songs, "Winds Of Change" and "Send Me An Angel", both appear on "Crazy World".

Fan-filmed video footage of the Reading concert can be seen below.

SCORPIONS have just finished recording a couple of new songs for a forthcoming compilation album that will collect the most popular of their ballad-type material.

"There's a best-of-ballads album coming out with Sony Music later this year, in the fall," SCORPIONS singer Klaus Meine said this psat Tuesday's (September 12) SiriusXM Town Hall radio interview. "And they wanted us to come up with a couple of bonus tracks, and we went in the studio and everybody came up with great ideas. And before we came here [to do this interview], we just finished a recording session and listened to the first mixes and stuff, and it sounds pretty good. It's gonna be a 'best of ballads,' but with those new tracks. And it's gonna be a cool project."

Regarding how the idea for the collection came about, Klaus said: "Sony Music approached us and said, 'C'mon, guys. You have so many powerful songs. And we wanna put it together in some kind of compilation you guys never did before.' So that's coming out, I guess, in November."

Meine added that while the SCORPIONS are known in the U.S.A. mostly for their harder-edged material, like "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "in other parts of the world, SCORPIONS are very famous for the ballads, like 'Still Loving You' in France. And in Asia, they love the ballads, and in Russia, 'Wind Of Change' and all those songs are very powerful — equally as powerful as 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' here," he said. "So we talked about [doing] this. In different parts of the world, people like different types of music. So we can offer [a compilation that includes all the best of the softer songs]."

SCORPIONS' last release was 2015's "Return To Forever", partially comprising songs the band had in the vault from the '80s. It was the final recorded appearance of SCORPIONS' longtime drummer James Kottak, who was dismissed from the band in September 2016 during his well-publicized his battle with alcoholism. He has since been replaced by MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee.

MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE: New Song 'Act I: Elysium 77' Available For Streaming

MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE: New Song 'Act I: Elysium 77' Available For Streaming

MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE has released another single titled "Act I: Elysium 77". The track, which features a guest appearance by THE WORLD ALIVE frontman Tyler "Telle" Smith, is taken from the band's new LP, "Vicious World", due on October 13 via Entertainment One Music / Good Fight Music.

"'Elysium 77' is the beginning of a story, one that deals in the haunting emptiness after losing someone you love," says MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE vocalist Matthew Hasting.

"Being able to feature Telle was something that was really exciting for us. We've known each other, and have been performing together for much of each other's careers. Him coming to the studio, and jumping on a track was just like hanging out any other day. A few takes and the deed was done.

"'Act 1' takes likeness to a summer movie ballad, in the vein of LINKIN PARK. Telle's singing blended with my screaming, bouncing back and forth and combining to become something new. It was an honor to have him on our record, and we can't wait for you all to hear it!"

Both "Act I: Elysium 77" and "Thorns" and are available on all streaming platforms and as iTunes instant-gratification tracks, meaning, fans who pre order the album get both tracks instantly.

"Vicious World" is the follow-up to MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE's self-titled LP, which came out in 2012.

Hasting continues: "For the artwork, I collaborated with the amazing artist Sam Wolfe Connelly to capture the eeriness and darkness of the record in one image.

"This record has taken us down a long and very winding road. But we're very thankful for eOne Music and Good Fight Music for believing in us and our passion for creating music. We can't wait for you all to hear 'Vicious World'!"

For "Vicious World", MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE worked closely with producer Travis Richter, best known as longtime guitarist of FROM FIRST TO LAST, the band that launched the career of Sonny Moore (a.k.a. Skrillex) and sold a half million albums over the years.

"Vicious World" is equally energetic, driving, dramatic, and cinematic. Each song takes listeners on a moving journey from start to finish, with special care and attention to structure and meaning.

The core duo of Hasting and guitarist/songwriter Robert Bloomfield, who appear together on every MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE album, now usher in a brand new era of the band forged in ambitious artistry and deliberate focus. They've combined elements of extreme metal and the punk-and-pop-infused mash-ups present on the Warped Tour and Mayhem stages with their own signature flavor, a product of their disparate geographical locations, unique background, and point of view.

Since the band's formation over a decade ago in Madison, Alabama, MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE has worked with nearly ever A-list metal/metalcore/hardcore producer in the game.

MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE dabbles in everything grunge, EDM, hip-hop, mainstream metal, and hard rock, cannibalizing the brightest spots of the seemingly contrasting genres, warping them, twisting them, and creating something inventive and fresh within its sound. Simply put, MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE has created the band its members wanted to hear. "Vicious World" is the sound of a creative entity in full command of its ambitions and experimentation, alternately catchy and inviting yet dense and thought provoking.

"Vicious World" track listing:

ANGEL NATION Feat. LEAVES' EYES Singer ELINA SIIRALA: 'Burn The Witch' Video

ANGEL NATION Feat. LEAVES' EYES Singer ELINA SIIRALA: 'Burn The Witch' Video

The official video for the song "Burn The Witch" from the female-fronted melodic metal band ANGEL NATION can be seen below. The track is taken from the group's new album, "Aeon", which will be released on October 27 in Europe and North America via Inner Wound Recordings.

ANGEL NATION is a melodic metal band founded by the classically trained Finnish singer Elina Siirala who moved to London in 2008 and fell in love with the power of rock and metal.

Their debut album — released in 2014 under the name ENKELINATION — "Tears of Lust", was received with glowing reviews all over the world. Shows at Bloodstock Open Air and Finland followed before Elina joined LEAVES' EYES in 2016 as that band's new vocalist.

"Aeon" continues the musical diversity that Elina likes to express in her songwriting. The unique blend of retro and modern sounds is developed even further with this album. The power of metal and rock combined with Elina's ethereal-yet-strong-and-emotional vocals create the perfect platform for stories of both earthly and otherworldly she likes to create with her lyrics.

The album features a guest appearance by Jukka Pelkonen (OMNIUM GATHERUM) on vocals and the artwork was created by Darkgrove Design (APOCALYPTICA, DELAIN, LEAH).

"Aeon" track listing

FOO FIGHTERS Joined By THE HIVES Frontman For Performance Of AC/DC Classic In Stockholm (Video)

FOO FIGHTERS Joined By THE HIVES Frontman For Performance Of AC/DC Classic In Stockholm (Video)

Howlin' Pelle Almqvist, lead singer of the Swedish garage-rock revivalists THE HIVES, joined FOO FIGHTERS on stage during the latter band's invite-only concert on Thursday, September 14 at Vasateatern in Stockholm to perform a cover of the AC/DC song "Let There Be Rock".

FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl introduced Almqvist as the guy whom he dressed up as for Halloween back in 2002. "This is how much I fucking love this person and the band this person is in," Dave said. "This person happens to be from this city, so it's nice to be reunited with him. It's been a long time."

After Pelle made his way to the stage, Grohl continued: "So tonight I thought it would be a good idea if we did a song together, one that we've never played with him before, but I think it makes perfect sense for this show." He then broke into the opening notes of LED ZEPPELIN's "Stairway To Heaven", telling the audience, 'I've always wanted to sing this song," before stopping and adding, "Actually, that's not the right song. The real song sounds like this." He and the rest of FOO FIGHTERS then launched into the AC/DC classic, with Almqvist, who wore the shirt with the phrase "Boogie Till you Barf" for the occasion, providing lead vocals.

Almqvist later told GP.se about the FOO FIGHTERS collaboration: "Dave wanted me to sing ['Let There Be Rock']. I was happy. When I was six years old, my dream was to sing in AC/DC. If I closed my eyes, this was pretty close, I think."

FOO FIGHTERS' concert at Vasateatern was dubbed by Grohl the official release party for the band's new album, "Concrete And Gold", which went on sale at the venue right after FF finished its set with "Let There Be Rock".

THE HIVES, who are known for performing in ever-changing black and white suits and their spirited live shows, supported AC/DC on an Australian tour late in 2015.

After Brian Johnson's hearing loss was made public in March 2016, Almqvist — whose stage presence has been compared to that of Mick Jagger's — said that he would jump at the chance to perform with AC/DC.

He wrote in a post on THE HIVES' Facebook page: "Very sad to hear Brian Johnson can't do a bunch of AC/DC shows due to health problems. That man is a legend. I would like offer my sincerest well wishes and get wells. And if any help is needed, I put my foot forward and say: HERE I AM!"

He continued: "I have many many years of experience rocking the world's biggest stages and, according to others, I am the greatest frontman in rock, plus judging from the reaction in Australia, your crowd already seems to really like me. Plus, I have already been singing those songs since I was six years old. So, AC/DC‬, please consider my application!"

EUROPE: First Trailer For 'Walk The Earth' Album

EUROPE: First Trailer For 'Walk The Earth' Album

The first trailer for "Walk The Earth", the brand new album from Swedish hard rock veterans EUROPE, can be seen below. Due on October 20 via the band's own Hell & Back label through Silver Lining Music, the follow-up to 2015's "War Of Kings" was laid down at London, England's legendary Abbey Road studios and was produced by Dave Cobb, who also helmed the band's last disc.

The "Walk The Earth" cover (shown below) features original artwork by famed Los Angeles artist Mike Sportes of Filth Mart.

Says EUROPE singer Joey Tempest: "We were in the studio a few days into recording and Dave [Cobb, producer] comes in wearing this very cool t-shirt with one of Mike's designs on it. Immediately we knew we had to check Mike's other work and have him come up with an exclusive design for us based on the vibe of the album. We are very proud to have his amazing artwork as the 'Walk The Earth' album cover!'

Speaking about the new album's recording sessions, EUROPE drummer Ian Haugland told Kaaos TV: "This time around, I would say that it turned out even better than 'War Of Kings', because we felt more at ease with Dave, 'cause now we knew how he was working from the previous album, from 'War Of Kings', so we felt really like a team immediately. And we knew when we went into the studio that we had a batch of really good song ideas, but when we went out of the studio and the recordings were finished, we had an even stronger feeling. So we took the songs, really, to the next level when we recorded them. So we're really excited about the new music."

Regarding the musical direction of the new EUROPE material, Haugland said: "There are a lot of '70s roots. I think you can hear influences from David Bowie, from LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH and DEEP PURPLE, obviously — all those bands that we grew up with. It's a nice mix, but still I think this album has a stronger backbone, stronger identity. I mean, the 'War Of Kings' album had a lot of great songs, but I think the new one is gonna be more focused, sort of. And also sound-wise, I think it's got a warmer and more analog character to the sound, which we love."

"Walk The Earth" track listing:

01. Walk The Earth02. The Siege03. Kingdom United04. Pictures05. Election Day06. Wolves07. GTO08. Haze09. Whenever You're Ready10. Turn To Dust

EUROPE will tour the U.K. later this year as the support act for DEEP PURPLE. Headlining European tour dates for November and December will be announced soon.

EUROPE last year completed a short European tour during which the band played "The Final Countdown" album in its entirety to celebrate the LP's thirtieth anniversary.

A recording of the band's "The Final Countdown" performance at London's legendary Roundhouse was released on July 21.

"War Of Kings" came out in March 2015 via UDR Music.

SAMAEL Releases Video For 'Black Supremacy'

SAMAEL Releases Video For 'Black Supremacy'

Swiss black metal pioneers SAMAEL have released a performance video for their new song "Black Supremacy". The track is taken from the band's tenth album, "Hegemony", which will be issued on October 13 via Napalm Records.

The band explains: "We wanted to pay homage to our favorite color with a song.

"Black isn't considered to be a color but in its purest essence it is an absolute value.

"Musically, this track tends to be more extreme than the rest of the album but it couldn't be otherwise!"

"Hegemony" track listing:

01. Hegemony02. Samael03. Angel Of Wrath04. Rite Of Renewal05. Red Planet06. Black Supremacy07. Murder Or Suicide08. This World09. Against All Enemies10. Land Of The Living11. Dictate Of Transparency12. Helter Skelter13. Storm Of Fire (bonus track)

The band states: "The creative process that led to the completion of 'Hegemony' took over four years. Throughout that time, we lived with and saw each song growing into what they finally became.

"'Hegemony' is an album that acknowledges the world we're living in, and emphasized on the effort to take control of that world. It's all about change and evolution. It's a strong statement, a testament of our time and a call for revolution."

SAMAEL frontman Vorph (real name: Michael Locher) told Serbia's Agoraphobic News about the previously released first single, "Angel Of Wrath": "It is more like a fantasy song, but it's kind of a mix between some deeper meaning, maybe for us, as the name of the band is SAMAEL, it is the angel of wrath. We wanted to have something maybe to connect back to the past and start fresh. That's why we chose that one first. The new album will be more wide than just this song."

Regarding the overall musical direction of "Hegemony", Vorph said: "I think it's kind of wide [sounding]. There's faster songs… probably 'Angel Of Wrath' is one of the heaviest. We have more mid-tempo songs. We try to have variation. I hope it is a varied album."

Founded in 1987 as an old-school black metal act that was influenced by the likes of BATHORY, fellow countrymen CELTIC FROST and VENOM, the brothers Vorph and Xy later developed the band's style further towards a more industrial dark metal sound that found its previous high peak in those legendary albums such as "Passage" and "Eternal".

SAMAEL is:

Vorph: Guitar, VocalsXy: Keyboards and ProgrammingMakro: Bass

COMMUNIC: First single from upcoming album available

COMMUNIC: First single from upcoming album available

Many of you were anticipating the new Communic Official single, their first recording since "The Bottom Deep" (2011). Enjoy "Where Echoes Gather, Pt. 1 - Beneath The Giant" now!

“This is the first single we release from the album, “Where Echoes Gather” This is the title track and on the album and it is split up into two parts, but I like to think of the song as a whole, but for now we only will show you part 1”. Part 2 will be added soon. When you listen to the album there will be no gap or pause between as it will flow as one long song”.

Part 1: Beneath The Giant
“The topic of the song was inspired by a visit to an Eastern Europe City some years ago. In this city, a giant of a city, the stressful hectic life, people off to work, blindly following as sheep, while in the underground sewers and pipes there was a communion of orphan children, and youngsters, living in the absence of “street” awareness, sniffing glue to escape from reality. At night they come out, treading the shadows of the streets, looking for the next fix. We fail to lift the head away from our own “problems” neglecting what’s going on around us. With a government and media system that also fails to fix the problem, more interested in social likes or in telling the truth!. So this is where I got the inspiration to this song. Some of these children where in the same age as my own children, who I as a parent want to grow up in a safe home environment with friends and family who cares, made me even closer to the brutality, and made me see the harsh reality of life with different eyes.” (Oddleif Stensland)
