KRUK Reveal New Album Title
 In late spring, Metal Mind Productions will release a brand new studio album from Polish hard rock band KRUK Today, the band reveal its title - Before. Kruk’s fourth full-length release should be interesting for fans of such artists as DEEP PURPLE, LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH and DIO.
Piotr Brzychcy, Kruk's guitarist, comments: "Before perfectly captures the spirit of the music on our new album, which constitutes a return to our roots, to our inspirations. With this album, we do not concern ourselves with who is going to like our music or how long a track should be so that it can be played on the radio, unlike it was with our previous album Be3. DECREPIT BIRTH Working On New Material; Drummer Releases DREAM THEATER Cover
 Santa Cruz death metal outfit DECREPIT BIRTH have been working on new material which will be the follow up to their brutal 2010 release, Polarity.
Drummer Samus has been keeping his chops up with his newest cover of 'Dance of Eternity' by DREAM THEATER.
Samus comments on the new material: "This one is gonna be fucking nasty. Matt and I have been on Skype every week or so, throwing ideas around each other, bong hits, comparing our nipples, etc... but I have nothing further for you as of this moment. The music is coming"

AMARANTHE Post New 7th Anniversary Limited Edition Box Set Trailer
 To celebrate their seventh year as a band, Swedish/Danish sextet AMARANTHE is releasing a limited edition box set. The package contains:

Amaranthe have confirmed a fall 2014 release date for their new studio album via Spinefarm Records; as-yet-untitled, this latest outing will be the follow-up to Amaranthe (2011) and The Nexus (2013).
According to guitarist Olof Morck: "2014 will indeed see the release of the next Amaranthe record. We don't want to reveal any details yet, apart from this album representing a big step forward for Amaranthe musically - where Amaranthe and The Nexus were closely connected, this new album is bolder and more different... but, of course, with the trademark Amaranthe sound throughout! See you all on tour this spring with our last Invincible shows - and expect blown minds in 2014!"

TROLLFEST - 'Kaptein Kaos' Video Debuts
 With only a few days to go before the release of their sixth full-length album, the Norwegians that form TROLLFEST have debuted a video for 'Kaptein Kaos', the title track from the album which is due to hit the streets on NoiseArt records on March 28th in Europe and April 8th in North America. The track was chosen because, according to the band, it represents the overall feel of the new album - fun, chaos and utter madness, and shows the band's Troll personas being employed to formulate a special brew by the Kaos Corp, the company owned by the time-travelling hero Kaptein Kaos himself. Helped along by their friend Bok'n'Brusetruse (aka Jon Erik Bokn of DEAD TROOPER and METAL MILITIA), the resourceful Trolls go through various failed attempts before coming up with a new super drink that will change the history of mankind. The 'Kaptein Kaos' video can be seen below:
Recorded at the dUb Studio in Oslo and at the Trollskogen Recording Facilities, the album has been mixed by Endre Kirkesola. Once again the fantastic artwork that depicts the crazy characters that inhabit Trollfest's imagination is by Swedish Cartoonist Jonas Darnell and the design is by Terje Johnsen, both long-time collaborators of the band.
Trollfest recently released the track 'Ave Maria' from the album as a digital single, and 'Kaptein Kaos', will be released in both limited edition digipak CD/DVD and 12" vinyl versions.

Iceland's BENEATH - 'Chalice' Lyric Video Streaming
 Icelandic death metal band BENEATH will release their second full length album, The Barren Thorne, on April 29th via Unique Leader Records. A new lyric video for the track 'Chalice' can be found below.
The band worked with legendary producers Wojtek & Slawek Wieslawski, who have previously worked with bands like DECAPITATED, VADER and BEHEMOTH. The album contains 11 tracks of technical brutality, clocking in at 53 minutes.

SEBASTIAN BACH: 'Temptation' Video Released
 Former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach will releae new solo album, "Give 'Em Hell", on April 22 via Frontiers Records. The follow-up to 2011's "Kicking & Screaming" was once again produced by Bob Marlette, who has previously worked with ROB ZOMBIE, BLACK SABBATH and SHINEDOWN, among others.
The video for the CD's first single, "Temptation", can be seen below. The clip was directed by Patrick Fogarty, who has previously worked with BLACK VEIL BRIDES, PICTURE ME BROKEN and THE BURNING OF ROME.
Of the new album, Sebastian Bach enthused: "I could not be more proud of the new CD, 'Give 'Em Hell'. As a rock music fan myself, I listen to it every single day. As a musician, I honestly feel like I have reached a new level of album recording. As an audiophile, I could not be more blown away by the sound! "Give 'Em Hell" was mastered at Precision Mastering in Los Angeles with Tom Baker.
Sebastian managed to involve in the writing and recording some very special friends and guest stars, including none other than Duff McKagan (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES), and not one but two top-class guitar players: John 5 (MARILYN MANSON, ROB ZOMBIE) and Steve Stevens (BILLY IDOL). Rounding out the lineup on the CD are Devin Bronson (AVRIL LAVIGNE, PINK) on guitar and Bobby Jarzombek (HALFORD, RIOT, FATES WARNING) on drums. Duff and Sebastian previously collaborated on Duff's solo album "Believe In Me".
The cover for "Give 'Em Hell" (see below) was once again handled by Richard Villa, who worked on "Kicking & Screaming". Incorporated into the album design is one of the paintings by Sebastian's late father David Bierk, who painted the artwork for SKID ROW's "Slave To The Grind", inside artwork for SKID ROW's "Subhuman Race", and Bach's solo albums "Angel Down" and "Bring 'Em Bach Alive!".

Which Is Best RONNIE JAMES DIO-Fronted Band? Members Of JUDAS PRIEST, SLIPKNOT, HALESTORM Weigh In
 Legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio is being tributed with the "This Is Your Life" album, featuring covers by some of rock's biggest artists. At the March 17 exclusive VIP listening party for "This Is Your Life" and awards gala at the Avalon in Hollywood, California, Artisan News asked Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST), Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR), HALESTORM and musicians who played with Ronnie which Dio-fronted band they liked best: DIO, BLACK SABBATH or RAINBOW. Ronnie James Dio is one of the most beloved figures in rock history. His gifts, both as a singer and songwriter, are instantly recognizable, whether he was with RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL, or leading DIO. Sadly, Dio lost his battle with stomach cancer in 2010 but his towering voice and legacy live on.
To celebrate one of rock's most powerful voices, an all-star group of his friends and fans recorded 13 of their favorite tracks for a tribute album, 100% of proceeds from which will go to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund. Produced by his longtime manager and wife Wendy Dio, the album includes contributions by such metal heavyweights as METALLICA, MOTÖRHEAD, SCORPIONS, ANTHRAX, and Rob Halford, as well as appearances by many of the musicians who performed with Dio over the years.
"This Is Your Life" will be available from Rhino on April 1. A digital version will also be available.
Although the songs featured on the album touch on the different eras of Dio's career, several spotlight his time with RAINBOW, including METALLICA's epic, nine-minute "Ronnie Rising Medley", which combines the RAINBOW songs "A Light In The Black", "Tarot Woman", "Stargazer" and "Kill The King". SCORPIONS add a scorching take on "Temple Of The King" while MOTÖRHEAD is joined by Biff Byford from SAXON on "Starstruck". Rob Halford teams with frequent Dio collaborators Vinny Appice, Doug Aldrich, Jeff Pilson, and Scott Warren for "Man On The Silver Mountain". The final lineup of Dio's solo band — Simon Wright, Craig Goldy, Rudy Sarzo and Scott Warren — are joined by Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) for "Catch The Rainbow", a track from RAINBOW's 1975 debut.
ANTHRAX and ADRENALINE MOB honor Dio's memorable stint with BLACK SABBATH with their takes on "Neon Knights" and "The Mob Rules", respectively, as does a group, led by Oni Logan on vocals along with Jimmy Bain, Rowan Robertson, and Brian Tichy, which performs "I" from "Dehumanizer".
"This Is Your Life" also includes songs from Dio's back-to-back platinum albums "Holy Diver" (1983) and "The Last In Line" (1984), with DORO's take on "Egypt (The Chains Are On)", HALESTORM tackling "Straight Through The Heart", Corey Taylor (STONE SOUR, SLIPKNOT) covering the classic "Rainbow In The Dark" and TENACIOUS D (Jack Black and Kyle Gass) putting their signature spin on "The Last In Line". KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's cover of "Holy Diver", a hit in its own right when released in 2006, is also included here.
Fittingly, Ronnie James Dio provides the finale (and the album's title) with his moving performance of "This Is Your Life". Originally released on "Angry Machines" (1996), the song's lyrics explore mortality and are backed by a stark and beautiful arrangement that features Dio accompanied only by his longtime keyboardist Scott Warren on piano. The song serves as a poignant reminder that we will never hear a voice like Dio's again.
"We reached out to Wendy Dio about wanting to be a part of the Dio tribute that's getting put together," METALLICA singer James Hetfield told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine. "We're very honored to be a part of that, and to be a part of a celebration of Ronnie's life and his great contribution, man."
In an interview with Guitar International, former ANTHRAX guitarist Rob Caggiano stated that the band's cover version of "Neon Knights" "came out pretty smoking."
The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, co-founded by Wendy Dio, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable fund dedicated to supporting cancer-prevention research, raising awareness and educating the public about the vital importance of early detection and prevention when dealing with this deadly disease.

KILMARA Sign With Sony Music; 'The Break Up' Single Streaming
 Spanish heavy metallers KILMARA have signed a publishing/distribution deal with Sony Music, the new 12-track album Love Songs And Other Nightmares due out April 8th worldwide via the label.

“If our preceding record was something like a tribute to bands like DEEP PURPLE, IRON MAIDEN, METALLICA, SCORPIONS or HELLOWEEN themselves, in this new album our references are DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE“, explains guitarist John Portillo. “We’ve created more solid sound bases, we’ve lowered tuning, we’ve got more forceful riffs and we’ve worked hard on guitar and vocal melodies“, he adds.
Love Songs And Other Nightmares, the band’s third album, was tracked at Grapow Studios with Roland Grapow. The album release is soon to be scheduled for sometime in 2014.

JETHRO TULL's IAN ANDERSON - Homo Erraticus Album Snippets Streaming
 Legendary prog pioneer IAN ANDERSON will be releasing a new studio album Homo Erraticus on April 15th on his own Calliandra Records, distributed by Kscope. The album continues with the story of Anderson's favorite enfant terrible Gerald Bostock. Audio snippets are available below.
Ian and his band (guitarist Florian Opahle, bassist David Goodier, keyboardist John O'Hara and drummer Scott Hammond, and singer Ryan O'Donnell) will be touring the United States this September through November.
In 1972 Ian's band JETHRO TULL released the iconic concept album Thick As A Brick, based on a poem by the then eight year old Gerald Bostock in 2012. As many fans wondered what might have befallen the character, Ian Anderson decided to explore the different paths Gerald's life might have taken in his 2012 album, Thick As A Brick 2.
Following a forty year political career, Gerald Bostock reunited with Anderson taking the role of tour manager on a string of shows. Homo Erraticus marks Gerald's return to songwriting, and is based on an unpublished manuscript by amateur historian Ernest T. Parritt (1865-1928).
In Homo Erraticus, Parritt examines key events of British history with a string of prophecies stretching to the current day and the future. Visions of past lives caused by the delirium of malaria generate the characters through whose eyes the stories are told, including a nomadic Neolithic settler, an Iron Age blacksmith, a Christian monk, a turnpike innkeeper and even Prince Albert.

INSENSE Premier 'Meandering' Video
 Oslo, Norway-based technical metallers INSENSE have premiered their new video, for the track 'Meandering', featured on the new album, De:Evolution, set for release on May 23rd on CD, limited-edition vinyl and digital download via Mas-Kina Recordings/Indie Recordings.
Produced by guitarist/vocalist Tommy Hjelm and mixed by Daniel Bergstrand at Dugout Studio in Uppsala, Sweden, De:Evolution follows-up the band’s fourth full-length album Burn In Beautiful Fire, released in 2011, which as well as fan and media praise received a Norwegian Grammy Nomination. The album artwork was created by Ryan Clark of Invisible Creature, whose previous credits include FOO FIGHTERS, MNEMIC, NORMA JEAN and THE CHARIOT.

DISTRAUGHT - Behind The Veil Album Streaming In Full
 Celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Behind The Veil album, Brazilian thrashers DISTRAUGHT are streaming the album in it's entirety.
Behind The Veil, released in 2004, is the band’s third album, pointed by many as the “watershed” in their career and sound of the group. The album was recorded by Fabiano Penna, who participated in the solo on the song ‘The Middle Ages’, and backing vocals in the chorus of ‘The Order’.

MARMOZETS Release 'Why Do You Hate Me?' Video
 Yorkshire, England's MARMOZETS' brand new single, 'Why Do You Hate Me?', made its world premiere this week on Zane Lowe's BBC1 radio and its accompanying music video is now available below. 'Why Do You Hate Me?' is also now available via the iTunes Store.
Furthermore, it was announced last night that Marmozets will be joining the Vans Warped Tour 2014 beginning July 4th at Toronto, Ontario’s Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. The band will spend the rest of the summer traversing the US on Warped which eventually wrap on August 3rd in Denver, Colorado at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High. CRADLE OF FILTH - 'Unbridled At Dusk' Track From Total Fucking Darkness Demo Streaming
 After more than 20 years, Total Fucking Darkness, the infamous third demo from Cradle Of Filth, will be officially released on vinyl and digipak formats on May 5th. 'Unbridled At Dusk' from the release can be heard below.
Housed in a heavy gatefold sleeve with paintings featuring the twisted visions of Radio One Presenter and Occult Artist, Daniel P Carter, the release will include some tracks previously unreleased by the band.
Frater Nihil, the founder of Cacophonous Records, the label that first signed Cradle Of Filth, got together with Dani Filth and Paul Ryan (former guitarist and now in THE KING IS BLIND) to bring fans of the band, both old and new, a remastered version of the demo along with material that had been sitting in the vaults for 20 years. They entered Turan Studio in Oxford and with the help of the engineer (who has worked on everything from EMPEROR to THIN LIZZY) brought the old recordings a new lease of life.
The album kicks off with the track 'Spattered In Faeces', the only surviving track from the now mythical Goetia sessions, followed on Side A and the rest of Side B with the recordings from Total Fucking Darkness. Side C begins with another previously unreleased track, 'Devil Mayfair (Advocatus Diaboli)', recorded at Samhain 1992, the rest of the side and the next feature the other three tracks from that session, along with two short instrumental pieces from the band's former keyboardist, Ben Ryan.
There will be a press of 666 copies in coloured vinyl for retail, with a Digipak CD version also available. Pre-orders can be placed here.

AMERICAN DOG - New Album In May
 "Recording and mixing for the new AMERICAN DOG album is complete and ready to be sent off for mastering," states vocalist and bassist Michael Hannon. "We're planning to release it sometime in May.  "My Dying Time", the new video from BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Justin Reich of the Antimatter studio. Says BLACK LABEL SOCITY mainman Zakk Wylde: "The video that father Justin created, my treatment was of me waking up in the morning and going to the grocery store and this is the video he made."

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY recently amicably parted ways with longtime guitarist Nick Catanese and replaced him with Dario Lorina (LIZZY BORDEN).
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY mainman Zakk Wylde recently told Guitar World magazine about Catanese's departure: "I had called Nick to tell him about the album and he told me that he was already knees deep into doing his own thing and wanted to stick 1,000 percent into it. I told him it was cool and that we loved him and that he'd always have a home here."
He continued: "The thing is no one ever gets kicked out or fired. If you want to go, you're always able. Now we've got [guitarist] Dario Lorina in the band, and not only is he a kick-ass guitar player who can shred, but he's also a really cool dude."
Asked how he hooked up with Dario, Zakk said: "We never do a cattle call or anything like that. With the amount of awesome players I know, it's more of a word-of-mouth kind of thing. I had him come out to the Vatican [Zakk's home studio] to meet him, and afterwards I said, 'Cool. If you want to do it, you're in.' It was as simple as that."
Wylde also spoke about what fans can expect to hear on "Catacombs Of The Black Vatican".
"I think everyone can expect a lot of fun and excitement," he laughed. "It was like what Chris Farley did in that one skit, where he was selling that hair-care product. Make sure you always use the word 'fun' when you describe it. [laughs]!
"Someone asked me what the difference was between this new record and the other nine. I told them that it's basically all of the songs we used on the other nine records, except they've got different titles now. [laughs] It's fun and exciting for the whole family!"
"Catacombs of the Black Vatican" is BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's first new studio album since 2009's "The Order Of The Black", which debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart.
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's new live DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Video, "Unblackened", was released on September 24, 2013 by Eagle Rock Entertainment. Wylde's label home, eOne Music, also released the audio version of the "Unblackened" DVD under the same name.

PROTEST THE HERO Wins JUNO Award In 'Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year' Category
 PROTEST THE HERO was honored in the "Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year" category at this year's Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Awards), which was held on March 30 in Winnipeg after a week of musical celebrations across the city.
This category is an award to honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the Canadian recording industry, without regard to album sales or chart position. Eligible albums include metal, metalcore, hardcore, heavy rock, thrash metal, death metal and their respective sub-genres including (but not limited to) nu-metal, power metal, grindcore, extreme metal, industrial metal, viking metal, folk metal, doom metal, gothic metal, speed metal, and sludge metal.
Artists who released albums between September 1, 2012, and November 13, 2013, were eligible for nominations.
Ths year's "Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year" nominees were as follows:

PROTEST THE HERO's fourth studio album, "Volition", sold around 11,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 20 on The Billboard 200 chart.
The long-awaited follow-up to 2011's "Scurrilous" (Vagrant), "Volition" was licensed to series of worldwide partners who are helping distribute and market it to both traditional stores alongside digital service providers, thus making the new record available on a worldwide scale. PROTEST THE HERO and Razor & Tie joined forces for the United States, while the album was released in Canada through Sony Music and in the rest of the word via Spinefarm.
After the departure of longtime drummer Moe Carlson, PROTEST THE HERO enlisted LAMB OF GOD's Chris Adler to sit behind the kit for the recording sessions of "Volition". Now with extensive touring on the horizon, PROTEST THE HERO has decided to fill the slot permanently with Mike Ieradi.

ENTOMBED, UNLEASHED, NECROPHOBIC Members Join Forces In FIREBORN
 Lars Göran Petrov (vocals; ENTOMBED) and Victor Brandt (guitar; ENTOMBED) have joined forces with Alex Friberg (bass; NECROPHOBIC) and Fredrik Folkare (guitar; UNLEASHED, NECROPHOBIC) in a brand new death metal band called FIREBORN.
"This is a new band that will not conflict with our other bands," says FIREBORN. "Neither will the music sound like them. Expect fast and extreme death metal."
FIREBORN is getting ready to record a full-length album, to be released before the end of the year. A drummer for the group has also yet to be announced.
Demo versions of the FIREBORN songs "Shadow Realms" and "Lucifer Has Spoken can be streamed using the SoundCloud widgets below.

As previously reported, original ENTOMBED members Alex Hellid and Ulf "Uffe" Cederlund (guitar) joined forces with former ENTOMBED frontman Orvar Säfström to perform the band's classic second album, "Clandestine" (1991), on February 1 at Gävle Konserthus in Gävle, Sweden. They were backed by the 65-piece Gävle Symphonic Orchestra and a 40-piece choir.
Original ENTOMBED drummer Nicke Andersson was also supposed to take part in the concert but was unable to make the gig due to touring commitments with his current project IMPERIAL STATE ELECTRIC.
"Back To The Front", the album that was recorded last year by four members of the most recent lineup of ENTOMBED — Lars Göran Petrov (vocals), Olle Dahlstedt (drums), Nico Elgstrand (guitar) and Victor Brandt (bass) — will be released later this year via Century Media Records under the band name ENTOMBED A.D.
Petrov will only perform with ENTOMBED A.D. and will not take part in any upcoming shows announced under the name ENTOMBED.
Hellid did not participate in the writing and recording of "Back To The Front".

DRAGONFORCE To Release 'Maximum Overload' In August
 British epic power metallers DRAGONFORCE will release their new album, "Maximum Overload", on August 19 in North America via Metal Blade and August 18 in Europe through earMUSIC, the Hamburg, Germany-based international rock label which is part of Edel Group. The CD was recorded at Fascination Street studios in Örebro, Sweden with Jens Bogren, who has previously worked with OPETH, THE DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, AMON AMARTH, KATATONIA, SOILWORK and SYMPHONY X, to name a few. It marks the band's first-ever album involving an outside producer, having historically opted to record themselves in association with Karl Groom.
"Working with Jens gave us a different perspective on the songs and a different sound dynamic," said DRAGONFORCE guitarist Herman Li. "We always previously recorded in our own studios, but recording in Sweden made us focus and maybe drove us harder. Jens certainly did; he doesn't believe in days off!"
He continued: "The album title and album cover artwork is inspired by the constant bombardment of information we are subjected to during our daily lives.
"We were in an airport departure lounge surrounded by TV screens, flight information screens and advertising screens. We then looked around and no one was saying a word, they were all looking at more screens on tablets, laptops and mobile phones. There's no escaping it; it's complete information overload!"
"Maximum Overload" will be released on standard CD, standard digital version, special edition CD with five bonus tracks and a bonus DVD, special edition digital version (same bonus material as special edition CD), and vinyl. The effort features a couple of surprises, notably a guest appearance on some of the songs from TRIVIUM's Matt Heafy.
"We've always gotten on really well with the TRIVIUM guys and it was great when Matt had a couple of days to spare and agreed to weigh in on some of the songs," said DRAGONFORCE bassist Frédéric Leclercq.
"Maximum Overload" also features an all time first for DRAGONFORCE... a cover version! Guitarist Sam Totman explained: "Just before the last Australian tour, our manager suggested it might be interesting to do a cover for the next album, something we've always refused even to consider. Because we had all had a couple beers, every bandmember wrote down three songs each and we compared them all, just for a laugh. I wrote down 'Ring Of Fire' by Johnny Cash, an idea which the rest of the band loved, so we've DRAGONFORCE-ized it."
"Maximum Overload" is the follow-up to 2012's "The Power Within", which was the band's first with vocalist Marc Hudson. Since his live debut with the group in July 2011, Marc has gone on to front over 100 shows with DRAGONFORCE in 32 countries across the globe, including arenas with IRON MAIDEN as well as a mammoth headlining world tour to support the CD.
A demo version of a new DRAGONFORCE song called "Defenders", featuring a guest appearance by TRIVIUM frontman Matt Heafy, can be streamed below.
In a 2013 interview with Bring The Noise, Leclercq stated about DRAGONFORCE's forthcoming CD: "We've always been recording in the U.K. and this time we decided to have an external producer, so we've been working with Jens Bogren; he's been working with OPETH, Devin Townsend, and he's been great so far. He's been putting in a lot of input in and it's great, it's been very cool."
He continued: "I've been co-writing everything with Sam this time. Usually Sam will do most of it, and then I would contribute to some songs, or we do more harmonies sometimes. This time I've been working together with him, so there's more of me; expect something French, I guess! Well, I'm more into thrash metal and also prog [metal], so it's going to make the sound a bit more diverse."
Aked if he has noticed DRAGONFORCE head in a different musical direction since he joined the band, Hudson told Bring The Noise: "I'm not entirely sure that it's changed because of me, but I think 'The Power Within' and this next album are definitely different from the previous four. I don't know whether that's because of me, or because Fred is writing stuff. Obviously, my singing style is different to the old singer, so there's going to be some influence there, with the limitations and what I can do with my voice compared to him."
DRAGONFORCE will embark on a massive 20-date U.K. and Ireland tour in September under the strapline "….this time it's personal," alluding to the fact that instead of playing a handful of larger venues, the band is playing many shows geographically spread out across the country. Commenting on the nature of the tour, Herman Li said: "We did a tour like this in between the 'Sonic Firestorm' and 'Inhuman Rampage' albums and have wanted to repeat it ever since but couldn't because of touring commitments elsewhere in the world. This time we were determined to make it happen, so we're going to some cities we haven't visited for years and some we've never visited at all. One of the venues is a boat and one is a deconsecrated church! It will be great to see the fans up close and personal again. It's going to be very hot, very sweaty and great fun!"
"The Power Within" sold 5,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 74 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Original MAYHEM, CADAVER Members Join Forces In ORDER

SAVN - Mastered Version Of Debut Album Now Available For Streaming
 THE SINS OF THY BELOVED members Stig Johansen and Anders Thue have teamed up with MIDNATTSOL vocalist Carmen Elise Espenaes to form a new band called SAVN. Their debut album will be released later in April via CDR Records out of Norway.

LAST BASTION - 'I Know When I'm Home' Lyric Video Released
 The Seattle-based power metal act LAST BASTION have just released the lyric video for the song 'I Know When I'm Home', which can be found on their upcoming debut album, Road To Redemption, due out April 4th.
Last Bastion is a power metal band based in Seattle, set out to bring European melodic speed power metal to the US. According to a press, "catchy, melodic vocals, blazing guitars, infectious bass, thundering drums, and heavenly keyboards weave together tales of history, mythology and self actualization."
The band has also revealed the album artwork and tracklist for The Road To Redemption.

GEORGE LYNCH Is Not Holding His Breath For Classic DOKKEN Reunion
 In a brand new interview with Rock Revolt Magazine, legendary guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB, KXM) was asked about the chances of a reunion of the classic DOKKEN lineup. "Well, it's always a possibility," he replied. "[But] what it really comes down to is Don [Dokken] being agreeable to doing equal splits financially. That's been a stumbling block all along. Despite all the other obstacles that we have for a reunion happening, that is actually the 800-pound gorilla problem. He feels he's entitled to special financial treatment if we do that, which is ludicrous and was never the way the band was built. The band was always built as a shared band, and I think that's one of the reasons it survived as long as it did and why it worked. The only person who ended up not liking that arrangement was Don, and it is really heavily why the band broke up."
He continued: "We were up for re-negotiating our contract with Elektra in the late '80s, which is a wonderful position to be in (that's when you get paid and you'd kind of be set for life). But we all worked many, many years to get to that point, and Don decided, 'Well, you know what? I gotta take a chance here, and I want it all.' He wanted us to be hired guns, and he would get the multi-million dollar re-negotiated deal. That's what it was all about. And that's still what it's about. So, unless he can come around and say, 'Hey, guys! We're all important. We all worked equally hard. There's enough money to go around. Don't need to be greedy here, just split it up equal, put that aside, put it in the file cabinet. Let s go to work and make a good record.'
"I have aspirations, but I don't have any sense that it's really going to ever happen. I wouldn't be opposed; I would like to see it happen. But honestly, just to have some nice closure, make a nice bookend to our career, and make the fans happy and make a little bit of dough, it would be nice to see it work in a healthy way after all we ve been through, but I am not holding my breath."
All the members of DOKKEN's classic 1980s lineup reunited on stage for the first time in more than a decade on November 29, 2009 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California. According to OC Weekly, Don Dokken appeared on stage and said he had some friends he wanted to introduce. Jeff Pilson (bass) and George Lynch (guitar) joined Mick Brown (drums) for a two-song encore of "When Heaven Comes Down" and "In My Dreams".

Former CRISIS Frontwoman KARYN CRISIS Reveals Details Of GOSPEL OF THE WITCHES Project
 Visual artist and former CRISIS vocalist Karyn Crisis has revealed details of her newest musical project, GOSPEL OF THE WITCHES.
GOSPEL OF THE WITCHES features Crisis' unmistakable vocals and mystical lyrics, over music composed by EPHEL DUATH mastermind Davide Tiso. With Tiso playing all guitars and bass, the all-star lineup is completed by Danny Walker of INTRONAUT on drums and Ross Dolan of IMMOLATION on vocals.
A 13-song album is currently in the pre-production stages. Tracking begins in June with producer Jamie King (BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME) at at The Basement Recording in in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
In addition to the core lineup, the album will contain a guest appearance by Mike Hill, frontman of TOMBS.
Karyn Crisis speaks about GOSPEL OF THE WITCHES: "The album is a bold statement and an epic, unabashedly emotional work of devotion to the ultimate expression of the power of the fires of transformation: The Witch.
"Davide has a haunting ability to generate undeniably emotional landscapes with his guitar, and these songs twist and turn into darkness and then transmute into heartbreaking beauty and light.
"As a testament to Ancient Ways and the union of opposites, I explore the feminine power in my voice on this album and couple it with Ross' intensely masculine vocal power to create a consistent theme of thickly layered vocal choruses.
"Danny will round out these 13 dark mantras with thunderous drums.
"Take the tendrils of my unstoppable voice into the Great Mysteries... or run for the hills."
A Kickstarter campaign has been launched to raise money for the recording, mixing, mastering, and manufacturing costs.
Some of the rewards for fans who donate through Kickstarter include: vinyl, CD and digital versions of the album; t-shirts; and original Karyn Crisis artwork — from a "hardbound lyric book with handwritten lyrics and drawings" to an opportunity to collaborate directly with Crisis on an original painting.
An early demo version of a new song, "Howl at the Moon", has been posted at Kickstarter.com in video form.
Often mistaken for a duet of a man and a woman, and described as both "angelic and demonic", Karyn challenged the idea of what a female voice could sound like. She was the first female singer in heavy music to boast a voice strong enough to compete in the male-dominated music scene, and the only woman fronting a heavy band touring the U.S. Her unique style was that of a primal scream: borne of a need to express her rage, despair, and inner fire.
Combined with her powerfully physical, dynamic, stage performances, she also challenged the male-dominated metal and hardcore scenes to "think again" about the gender stereotypes of women being the "weaker" sex. And in the early '90s, before Internet and "Headbangers Ball" supported underground metal, bands had to prove themselves and pay their dues show by show, the grassroots way: winning people over in sweaty, often violent, clubs and mosh pits. No managers to book you into huge clubs with security fences; in those days, you had to hold your own and even break a nose or two.
