HEADSTONES Launch PledgeMusic Campaign For New Album
Two years ago, Canadian rockers HEADSTONES utilized PledgeMusic to ask their fans, "Do you want a new record?" The response was staggering and swift as funding was achieved within 24 hours.
By April of the next year, Headstones had the #1 single with 'Long Way To Neverland', and Love + Fury was a top ten album with international distribution in place, now nominated for a Juno Award.
"We love the PledgeMusic experience," admit Headstones. "It enables us to create new music and continue to have direct contact with our fans."
"One of the exclusives that you were able to purchase along with your pledge was a private acoustic show for 20 of your closest friends.
That acoustic show was an incredible experience. It let us explore our back catalogue and rethink how we could perform and revisit older hits and overlooked deep cuts, or forgotten songs. The acoustic show would not have happened without the support of those fans getting involved through PledgeMusic.
Here's the deal. We are prepared to head back to the studio for Headstones: New & Revised. It will be a couple new tunes, together with songs from our catalogue, rethought, revisited and revised with acoustic guitars, violins, upright basses, mandolins, pianos, and even glockenspiels. Yes glockenspiels. Google it.
So let's do it again... we want your suggestions, so get ready, and prepare for Headstones: New & Revised."

"We have new live video on the way from our recent show at Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas at Hard Rock Hotel. We have another StageIt online web concert planned on the near horizon so, stay tuned for exact show date and time at this location."
Back In October 2013, Young and Klein announced details of two new studio tracks. An update reads:

Side A: Our first original is called, 'Come Closer' and features an amazing bass performance by James Lomenzo (Megadeth, Black Label Society) and Jeff Bowders (PAUL GILBERT, JUSTIN DERRICO, PUDDLE OF MUDD) on drums. Band tracks were recorded in Los Angeles, live (like how bands used to record) to 2" analog tape. Lead vocals, guitar solos and mixing was completed with Bobby Ferarri at Vegas View Recording.

The tracks are recorded, mixed and ready for release. We're currently talking with some folks regarding the most appropriate release avenues. In the meantime, we just played our first show in Las Vegas at a benefit for the Mt. Charleston fires. We invite you have a look & a listen to our new live video, 'Funk #49 with Sean McNabb (DOKKEN, QUIET RIOT, SONS OF ANARCHY) - bass and Scot Coogan (ACE FREHLEY, LYNCH MOB) on drums." | 0

WOLFMOTHER Returns With Surprise Album 'New Crown'
According to The Pulse Of Radio, Australian retro-rockers WOLFMOTHER have unexpectedly released their new album, "New Crown", through their Facebook page, which provides a link to download it. The disc has arrived with no fanfare or promotional efforts beforehand. The album features original frontman and sole founding member Andrew Stockdale along with bassist Ian Peres and drummer Vin Steele. Stockdale told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that he wasn't sure at first if a different version of WOLFMOTHER would work. "It was definitely weird for a while playing with other people, but once we played like the old songs — for some reason in my mind I thought those songs could never be played again, you know what I mean?" he said. "But then when I did play them with other people, I thought, 'This works! Like, we're able to do this. There's still life within this music and there's still more to do.'"
Stockdale released a solo album last year called "Keep Moving". He said at the time that he was retiring the WOLFMOTHER name and band.
WOLFMOTHER will perform at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis on May 3 and Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio on May 18.
WOLFMOTHER's self-titled debut came out in the U.S. in 2006 and sold more than 590,000 copies.
The band won a Grammy Award in 2007 in the best hard rock performance category for the song "Woman", which was also a hit for the group on the Active Rock chart.
The group's sophomore effort, "Cosmic Egg", came out in 2009 and featured a different lineup alongside Stockdale.

ELUVEITIE Checks In From The Studio
On March 7, Swiss folk metallers ELUVEITIE were awarded one of Switzerland's most prestigious recognitions in music: a Swiss Music Award in the category "Best Live Act National." ELUVEITIE was chosen to receive the honor after a highly competitive fan voting, marking the very first time ever for a metal band to receive this award.
ELUVEITIE has now returned to the New Sound Studio to begin work on the follow-up to 2012's "Helvetios", once again with producer Tommy Vetterli (CORONER) at the helm. Says the band: "As always, working with Tommy Vetterli is as efficient as it is creative: both drum and guitar tracking is already completed!
"We have now begun work on the folk instruments and vocals at New Sound Studio, Lucerne's Soundfarm Studio, and Chrigel's [Glanzmann, vocals] home simultaneously.
"We are extremely proud of the new material and can't wait to present yet another big step in the evolution of ELUVEITIE later this year!
"We were also able to secure a bunch of exciting guest performers, the first of which we have recorded last week: the wonderful Christine Lauterburg.
"Not only is Christine one of the most original musicians in Switzerland, but she's really a living legend! Like no other, she has practiced and perfected the age-old tradition of Swiss jodel over many decades. She has set many milestones in the history of Swiss folk music, and delivered valuable contributions to the research and preservation of a tradition that may reach back all the way to the early ages, and originated with the Helvetian celts.
"We are proud to have Christine in our ranks. Her singing adds just that much more archaic authenticity to our sound, and contributes to the primeval rawness that will define our new album!"
ELUVEITIE recently announced the addition of violinist Nicole Ansperger to the group's ranks.
ELUVEITIE's latest album, "Helvetios", sold 4,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 143 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 3 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Helvetios" was released in Europe on February 10, 2012 via Nuclear Blast RecordsNew Sound Studio in Pfäffikon, a municipality in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland, with producer Tommy Vetterli (a.k.a. Tommy T. Baron; CORONER/ex-KREATOR guitarist).

GWAR Frontman DAVE BROCKIE's Death Investigated As Drug-Related
According to WWBT, the NBC-affiliated television station for Richmond, Virginia, investigators looking into whether the death of GWAR lead singer Dave Brockie may have been drug-related.
Law enforcement sources told the station the investigation is leading them to believe Brockie's death Sunday is drug-related, but the Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause. The investigation will include a toxicology report, which could take six weeks or more. Foul play is not expected, according to police.
Brockie was found dead in his home in Richmond on Sunday night (March 2). Brockie was 50 years old. GWAR manager Jack Flanagan released a statement saying, "It is with a saddened heart that I confirm my dear friend Dave Brockie, artist, musician, and lead singer of GWAR, passed away at approximately 6:50 p.m. EST Sunday, March 23, 2014 . . . A full autopsy will be performed. He was 50 years old, born August 30, 1963. My main focus right now is to look after my bandmates and his family."
Brockie is the second member of GWAR to die within the past three years. Guitarist Cory Smoot, who played the character Flattus Maximus, died of a heart attack on the band's tour bus in November 2011 at the age of 34.
Brockie said at the time, "I think Cory's death is a big wake-up call for all of us. We all breathed a big sigh of relief when we found out it wasn't a drug overdose, to speak quite frankly. But then to think that he was 34 and died of a heart attack — it's really scary."
According to The Pulse Of Radio, Brockie was the last remaining original member of GWAR, which was founded 30 years ago. The future of the band at this stage is uncertain.
The satirical metal band earned a following for its macabre, over-the-top costumes, offensive lyrics and graphic, gore-soaked shows, in which the band members performed as the descendants of alien warriors who arrived on Earth to enslave and slaughter the human race.
The band released its 13th album, "Battle Maximus", last year.

Audio Premiere: SLIPKNOT's COREY TAYLOR Sings DIO's 'Rainbow In The Dark'
GuitarWorld.com is hosting the exclusive U.S. premiere of Corey Taylor's new version of DIO's "Rainbow In The Dark".
The track, which can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below, is taken from the Ronnie James Dio tribute album "This Is Your Life", which will be released April 1.
Joining Taylor on the song— which originally appeared on DIO's classic 1983 debut, "Holy Diver" — are STEEL PANTHER guitarist Satchel, STONE SOUR drummer Roy Mayorga and touring friends Jason Christopher and Christian Martucci.
"Ronnie was the most natural singer I have ever witnessed," Taylor said. "He could do anything, hit any note, make any audience lose their minds. He was one of the greatest and I'm so happy I got to see him live. 'Rainbow In The Dark' was the first DIO song I really loved to death — just a powerful, high-energy hard rock song that was so good I wished I'd written it.
"When I was asked to be a part of this album, I knew there was only one track I wanted to record and luckily I got it. I only hope I did it justice. Having had the privilege of meeting Ronnie before he passed, I hope he knows how much I loved him for who and what he was: One of the greatest."
The official East Coast listening party for for "This Is Your Life" will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 p.m. at Duff's Brooklyn in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The address is:
Duff's Brooklyn168 Marcy Avenue (between S 5th & Broadway)Williamsburg, New York
For more information, visit www.duffsbrooklyn.com.
Although the songs featured on the album touch on the different eras of Dio's career, several spotlight his time with RAINBOW, including METALLICA's epic, nine-minute "Ronnie Rising Medley", which combines the RAINBOW songs "A Light In The Black", "Tarot Woman", "Stargazer" and "Kill The King". SCORPIONS add a scorching take on "Temple Of The King" while MOTÖRHEAD is joined by Biff Byford from SAXON on "Starstruck". Rob Halford teams with frequent Dio collaborators Vinny Appice, Doug Aldrich, Jeff Pilson, and Scott Warren for "Man On The Silver Mountain". The final lineup of Dio's solo band — Simon Wright, Craig Goldy, Rudy Sarzo and Scott Warren — are joined by Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) for "Catch The Rainbow", a track from RAINBOW's 1975 debut.
ANTHRAX and ADRENALINE MOB honor Dio's memorable stint with BLACK SABBATH with their takes on "Neon Knights" and "The Mob Rules", respectively, as does a group, led by Oni Logan on vocals along with Jimmy Bain, Rowan Robertson, and Brian Tichy, which performs "I" from "Dehumanizer".
"This Is Your Life" also includes songs from Dio's back-to-back platinum albums "Holy Diver" (1983) and "The Last In Line" (1984), with DORO's take on "Egypt (The Chains Are On)", HALESTORM tackling "Straight Through The Heart", Corey Taylor (STONE SOUR, SLIPKNOT) covering the classic "Rainbow In The Dark" and TENACIOUS D (Jack Black and Kyle Gass) putting their signature spin on "The Last In Line". KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's cover of "Holy Diver", a hit in its own right when released in 2006, is also included here.
Fittingly, Ronnie James Dio provides the finale (and the album's title) with his moving performance of "This Is Your Life". Originally released on "Angry Machines" (1996), the song's lyrics explore mortality and are backed by a stark and beautiful arrangement that features Dio accompanied only by his longtime keyboardist Scott Warren on piano. The song serves as a poignant reminder that we will never hear a voice like Dio's again.

01. Savagery02. King Of Flesh Ripped03. Tourniquets, Hacksaws And Graves04. The Howling Dead05. After The Cutting06. Forever Hungry07. Teeth Of The Shadow Horde08. All Shall Bleed09. Deep Crimson Dreaming10. Parasitic Eye11. Burial12. Autopsy
The song "The Howling Dead" can be streamed using the SoundCloud eidget below.
From all-out death metal savagery to crawling, doom-filled sludgery, "Tourniquets, Hacksaws And Graves" further pushes the limits of taste and brutality with this latest relentless onslaught of terror from beyond the grave. Artwork comes courtesy of Wes Benscoter, who was also previously responsible for the stunning "Macabre Eternal" album cover.
Says the band: "Tourniquets tighten... hacksaws rip... graves are filled...This is AUTOPSY, this is death metal. With the stench of 'The Headless Ritual' still permeating the befouled air, AUTOPSY has once again come for your very metal soul with their newest blood-soaked homage to all things dark, twisted and horrific... once again, bone-crushingly heavy nightmares await. 'Tourniquets, Hacksaws And Graves' will awaken the most depraved part of the coldest zombie's stare... blood will flow, brains will be destroyed, coffin lids will be opened."
AUTOPSY's sixth studio opus of horror and all-out madness, "The Headless Ritual", was released in July 2013 via Peaceville Records.
AUTOPSY released a DVD, "Born Undead", in June 2012 in the U.S. via Peaceville Records. The set charts AUTOPSY's birth, death and rebirth with an extensive documentary conducted with the bandmembers themselves, as they describe how the beast came to be, and the impact their music has had on the metal world over a span of more than 20 years. The film also documents the band's long-awaited return to the studio and stage, and includes rehearsal footage of both new tracks and old classics for their live comeback assault.
AUTOPSY had previously decided to make an official comeback after working together on two songs for the special 20th-anniversary edition of debut album, "Severed Survival", in late 2008; the band having originally split before the release of its fourth album, "Shitfun", in 1995. Ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Singer's DEVIL YOU KNOW: 'Seven Years Alone' Video Released
"Seven Years Alone", the first-ever video from DEVIL YOU KNOW, the creative union of Howard Jones (ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE), Francesco Artusato (ALL SHALL PERISH) and John Sankey (DEVOLVED), can be seen below. The clip was filmed last month in Los Angeles.
"Seven Years Alone" is taken from DEVIL YOU KNOW's inaugural effort, "The Beauty of Destruction", which will be made available on both physical and digital formats on April 25 in Europe and April 29 in North America via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
"The Beauty Of Destruction" was produced by Logan Mader (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, GOJIRA, DEVILDRIVER, SOULFLY) and mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, SOULFLY). Artwork for the album was created by noted painter and illustrator Travis Smith (OPETH, DEVIN TOWNSEND).
"When Travis Smith presented us with the initial sketches we were blown away,” commented Jones. “He captured the concept of the album perfectly. It’s hugely different than anything that’s out there and will be immediately recognizable as DEVIL YOU KNOW."
"The Beauty Of Destruction" track listing:
01. A New Beginning02. My Own03. Embracing The Torture04. For The Dead And Broken05. Seven Years Alone06. It's Over07. A Mind Insane08. Crawl From The Dark09. The Killer10. I Am The Nothing11. Shut It Down12. As Bright As The Darkness13. Sacrifice (bonus track - vinyl LP only)
As previously reported, DEVIL YOU KNOW will support BLACK LABEL SOCIETY on this year's Revolver Golden Gods Tour, which will kick off on April 16 in Portland and wrap up on June 7 in Los Angeles. Also appearing on the bill is DOWN.
"It's the record I've waited my entire life to make," Artusato said about "The Beauty Of Destruction".
"Logan really pushed us and brought the best out of us and now Zeuss is making it sound amazing!"
DEVIL YOU KNOW's touring lineup is completed by guitarist Roy Lev-Ari and BLEEDING THROUGH bassist Ryan Wombacher.
Said Jones said of the band's new additions: "After a period of being so intensely creative writing and recording the album, it's exciting to finally take it out on the road.
"It's great to have the two new guys.
"Roy is a great fit.
"Ryan and I have played tons of shows together in BLEEDING THROUGH and KILLSWITCH and have known each other for years."
DEVIL YOU KNOW made its live debut on February 15 at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California. The group also took part in the 2014 edition of Australia's Soundwave Festival.
DEVIL YOU KNOW was born out of Artusato and Sankey's creative quest to stretch beyond their extreme metal backgrounds. The two had written over a dozen songs before even attempting to lock down a singer. "We were unsure if Howard would be interested," said Sankey." Yet, when KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's former frontman received the material, a creative ideal began to solidify.
Finally connecting in Los Angeles during the last months of 2012, a highly distinctive sound began to become apparent. "It turned from bare-bones musical ideas into something that surpassed any of our expectations," said Jones. "It went from something we thought was going to be a fun, heavy project into something very real." It was during a recording session at the start of 2013 with producer and former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader that DEVIL YOU KNOW's ideas began to alchemize into something none of the bands members would ever expect. "It became a departure from what I'm known for," said Artusato. "I wasn't focusing on technical guitar parts (even though I still love that aspect of writing) but simply on writing what felt best for each individual song."
The writing and recording process for DEVIL YOU KNOW's debut album "was surprisingly easy," stated Artusato. "When we get together it just works." The band is also quick to sum up the studio vibe with producer Mader as "intensely creative," said Sankey. "Logan definitely helped us realize and define the DEVIL YOU KNOW sound." Jones agreed: "He went from producer, to unsung member, to friend."
"It's a different style of music for me," said Jones of DEVIL YOU KNOW's unique sound. "It's heavy as anything any of us are known for but I get to do some different things people won't expect. I've been singing almost all my life. Being around good songwriters and musicians in my former bands really helped mold me into who I am now."

WINGER: 'Midnight Driver Of A Love Machine' Video Released
"Midnight Driver Of A Love Machine", the new video from WINGER, can be seen below. The clip portrays the band on a live stage performing the opening track of their forthcoming album, "Better Days Comin'", to be released on April 18 in Europe and April 22 in North America via Frontiers Records. Fans who preorder the album now from iTunes will receive instant downloads of "Rat Race" (the first single) and the album's title track. The effort is available for pre-order on Amazon.com in a standard and deluxe configuration. The deluxe edition comes in a glossy digipak and includes the bonus track "Another Beautiful Day" and a DVD including a "Making Of The Album" documentary as well as videos for the first single "Rat Race" and title track, "Better Days Comin'".
WINGER has always been known for its incredible musicianship and the trend continues on "Better Days Comin'".
"On 'Better Days Comin'', we drew from our past to elaborate on our future," explains Kip Winger.
"The band is stronger than ever and very excited about the music on this record. We feel this album exemplifies the true sound of the band in every way."
From the opening riff of album opener "Midnight Driver Of A Love Machine" to the final outro lick of "Out Of This World", it is clear WINGER is back and better than ever. Hard-rocking songs like "Queen Babylon", progressive-rock movements like "Tin Soldier", and touching ballads like "Ever Wonder" show the band's diversity while always centering on great songs.
The debut single from "Better Days Comin'" is the adrenaline-fueled rocker "Rat Race" that showcases some of the band's best work of its 25-year career.
"Better Days Comin'" track listing: 01. Midnight Driver Of A Love Machine 02. Queen Babylon03. Rat Race04. Better Days Comin'05. Tin Soldier06. Ever Wonder07. So Long China08. Storm In Me09. Be Who You Are, Now10. Another Beautiful Day (deluxe edition bonus track)11. Out Of This World
WINGER formed in the late 1980s and soared to immediate success with its 1988 self-titled release. The album spawned the hit singles "Seventeen" and "Headed For A Heartbreak" and achieved platinum sales status. "Winger" also stayed on The Billboard 200 chart for over 60 weeks where it peaked at #21. Their next album, "In The Heart Of The Young", also achieved platinum status behind the singles "Can't Get Enuff" and "Miles Away". The change in musical climate of the mid-'90s, compounded with unprovoked ridicule on MTV's popular "Beavis And Butt-Head" show, led the band to go on hiatus in 1994. In 2001, WINGER reunited and has not looked back since.

BUSH Recording New Album With Producer NICK RASKULINECZ
Alt-rock band BUSH is currently in the studio with Grammy-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (DEFTONES, FOO FIGHTERS, ALICE IN CHAINS) recording the follow-up to 2011"s "The Sea Of Memories". The quartet (vocalist/guitarist Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz and drummer Robin Goodrige) is recording at Studio 606, the Northridge, California studio owned by FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl. 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of BUSH's debut album "Sixteen Stone", which hit No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and included the No. 1 hits "Comedown", "Glycerine" and "Machinehead", as well as fan favorites "Everything Zen" and "Little Things".
BUSH last year released "Live From Austin, Texas", an electrifying concert DVD featuring footage from an August 2011 sold-out show at Stubbs. The disc, also available on Blu-ray, features fan favorites "Machinehead", "Glycerine" and "Comedown" — along with new hits "All My Life", "The Afterlife" and "The Sound Of Winter". BUSH made rock radio history with "The Sound of Winter", becoming the first band ever to hit No. 1 at Alternative Radio with a self-released single. The song appears on the group's most recent release, "The Sea Of Memories", which was the first BUSH disc to be released via the band's own imprint, Zuma Rock Records. "The Sound Of Winter" also holds the distinction of being the reunited group's first No. 1 single since 1999's chart-topping hit "The Chemicals Between Us". Over the course of their career, BUSH has sold more than 16 million albums in the U.S. and Canada alone. They've also compiled an amazing string of 15 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, including 11 that hit the Top 5. Five of these became No. 1 hits: "Comedown", "Glycerine", "Swallowed", "The Chemicals Between Us" and "The Sound Of Winter". In 2008, Rossdale returned to the top of the charts with his solo single, "Love Remains The Same", which hit No. 1 on iTunes and generated more than 1.6 million downloads.

GREAT WHITE: 'Complicated' Video Released
GREAT WHITE's new music video, "Complicated", can be seen below. The latest single from the band's "Elation" album is overflowing with rockin' guitar riffs, tight percussion, tickling keys, fresh vocal swagger and an infectious chorus. The boogie-blues track is signature GREAT WHITE through and through, soon to become a fan favorite. The accompanying music video is a far cry from classic GREAT WHITE videos from back in the day. The band enlisted help from Mark Teague of Dream Haven Studios to create a multi-media narrative: a first for the band. "We really had a good time making the video and we hope the fans dig it. They will feel the positive energy coming from the song and video," the band said. Working alongside a green screen and even utilizing acting prowess, GREAT WHITE captures an emotional triumph. The energy and peace is palpable. GREAT WHITE is founder and lead guitarist Mark Kendall, Michael Lardie (keyboards, guitar), Audie Desbrow (drums), Scott Snyder (bass) and lead singer Terry Ilous.
"Elation" sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. Issued on May 22, 2012 via Frontiers Records, the 12-song CD marks GREAT WHITE's first effort with Ilous following the band's split with founding singer Jack Russell.
This version of GREAT WHITE is not to be confused with GREAT WHITE FEATURING JACK RUSSELL (formerly JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE), which features Russell alongside Robby Lochner (FIGHT) on guitar,Chris Tristram on bass, Tony Montana on guitar and Dicki Fliszar on drums.
GREAT WHITE released a live album, "30 Years - Live From The Sunset Strip", on February 22, 2013 in Europe and February 26, 2013 in North America via Frontiers Records.
To mark its 30th anniversary live on March 22, 2012, GREAT WHITE celebrated the only logical way — on stage. In a nod to its early days, GREAT WHITE returned to the infamous Sunset Strip, where a storied past of music's biggest fans are fused into the walls of the Key Club. GREAT WHITE delivered its entire repertoire to a packed house, pining for the band's raw energy and cheering its illustrious history track after track.

FOR TODAY: 'Break The Cycle' Video Released
The video for the song "Break The Cycle" from FOR TODAY can be seen below. The clip was directed by Frankie Nasso, who has previously worked with ASKING ALEXANDRIA, ESCAPE THE FATE and EMMURE. The track is taken from the band's new studio album, "Fight The Silence", which was released on February 4 via Razor & Tie.
The video for the "Fight The Silence" title cut was directed by Daniel Davison, who has previously worked with AUGUST BURNS RED, THE CHARIOT, MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA and NORMA JEAN. The song has a strong social message and proceeds from the sale of this track and album will go to support the A21 Campaign to help shine a light on the issue of human trafficking.
FOR TODAY lead vocalist Mattie Montgomery had all of the lyrics written for the song before he arrived at the studio to record it. He explains: "The morning before we got in, I watched a video someone sent me called 'Girls Going Wild In The Red Light District'. They were, like, 'Ignore the title. Just watch the video.' In the video, there are six girls standing in the window of a brothel in Amsterdam. This song starts playing and these prostitutes all start doing this synchronized dance to this music. Then at the end of it, these girls get done and the windows go black and this screen at the top of the building comes on and says, 'Every year thousands of girls are promised a dance career in Western Europe. Sadly they many of them end up here."
Mattie sat in the studio and wept for a good twenty minutes. "I was sobbing, snot coming out of my nose, tears coming down my face.
"How can we help? Where do we even start?
"I literally went through the lyrics to this song called 'Hope', which is ironic. I went through the lyrics that I had written and selected everything and I hit delete.
"You know what? I want the world to hear about this thing. So I re-wrote them in 45 minutes that morning. Then we recorded it. That's 'Fight The Silence'."
FOR TODAY will work to raise funds via the album and touring to continue the global effort to rescue and rehabilitate those who have been victimized and to oppose and prosecute those who are responsible for the buying and selling of other human beings. FOR TODAY was confirmed for the 2014 Vans Warped Tour. The band will perform on the entire nationwide run from June 14 through August 3. | 0

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN: Artwork For 'Happiness Is A Smile' Single Unveiled
The cover artwork for THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's new single, "Happiness Is A Smile", can be seen below. The song will be made available on limited-edition colored seven-inch vinyl via the band's merchandise table and as a cassingle through the group's VIP packages during THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's U.S. tour, which kicks off on April 3 in New York City.
The artwork for "Happiness Is A Smile" was created by BBC Radio One presenter and occult artist Daniel Carter.
THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's fifth full-length album, "One Of Us Is The Killer", sold around 15,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 25 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on May 14 through the band's own Party Smasher Inc., in partnership with Sumerian Records in North America. Party Smasher's partnership with BMG covers the rest of the world, including licensing deals with Grind House for Japan and Remote Control in Australia.
"One Of Us Is The Killer" was recorded in Southern California with longtime producer Steve Evetts (GLASSJAW, THE CURE, SUICIDE SILENCE), with additional production at guitarist/co-founder Ben Weinman's studio. Mastering was handled by Tom Baker (DEFTONES, NINE INCH NAILS, BEASTIE BOYS).
In an interview with Killer Tours, Weinman stated about "One Of Us Is The Killer": "A lot of the inspiration for this record has to do with codependency. This band has a huge impact on everyone in our lives. The conflicts that occur from both being around the same people constantly and also being away from some people constantly makes you evaluate things in a way most people never could. A lot of our lyrical and musical content is a vessel for dealing with that." | 0

AUTOPSY's CHRIS REIFERT To Release VIOLATION WOUND Debut
Vic Records has announced the signing of VIOLATION WOUND, the punk/rock/metal band formed by Chris Reifert (DEATH, ABSCESS, AUTOPSY) on guitar and vocals. Due on May 26, the band's debut album features guest appearances from Danny Coralles and Eric Cutler (both guitar players in AUTOPSY). The production is raw and primitive and as punk as it can be — like a perfect mixture between AUTOPSY and the RAMONES.
In a 2013 interview with Decibel magazine, Reifert stated about VIOLATION WOUND: "We first got together around beginning of June [of 2013]. I had mentioned the idea of a pure punk band to my friend Joe Orterry, who used to play bass in FOG OF WAR, and he said he was into it. At first I was going to play drums as usual, but after thinking about it decided to switch over to guitar. We hit up Matt O'Connell, who is the current FOG OF WAR drummer, to see if he would like to go for it and after giving him the rundown of what it would be about, he said yeah. It all fell right into place and next thing you know the volume is up and we're stockpiling songs as well as empty beer and whiskey bottles!"
Regarding VIOLATION WOUND's upcoming debut CD, Reifert said: "It's 18 songs in about 26 minutes, so you know there's no fucking around. They're real songs, though, not just noise for the sake of it… This is lots of fun for us, but it's certainly no joke either… We poured our fucking guts into it!
"I've always valued good songwriting and this is no exception. We had a kick-ass time recording and even got Danny and Eric from AUTOPSY to come down to throw down a couple of solos… Good times! But as with AUTOPSY, any sort of proper touring just isn't possible. The main plan right now is to get the album out there and into your ears. Beyond that, who knows?"
On the topic of the VIOLATION WOUND band name, Reifert said: "It just popped into my head one day. It sounds uncomfortable and painful, eh? It can mean several things, all of which would probably be considered awful in one way or another. Heh Heh… It's a pretty striking name, I think, and best of all, no one else was using it. I had a few other ideas at first, and I thought there was no way they could be taken, but sure enough… a bit of research proved me wrong. Ha! I really like the name and it just fits. It's one of those things where I can't imagine it any other way now." | 0

LOUDBLAST: New Song 'Ascending Straight In Circle' Available For Streaming
"Ascending Straight In Circle", a brand new song from French death metal veterans LOUDBLAST, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "Burial Ground", which will be released in Europe on April 28 and the U.S. on June 10 via Listenable.
Three years ago, the "Frozen Moments Between Life And Death" CD proved to be LOUDBLAST's boldest move, recharged by the arrival of youngsters Alex Lenormand (bass, ex-LOCUS, CODE, SIC) and Drakhian (lead guitar, GRIFFAR, ex-TAAKE, BLACK DEMENTIA), guitaarits/vocalist Stéphane Buriez and his longtime drummer Hervé Coquerel threw all the rules out of the window without turning their backs on their roots.
The result of eighteen months of hard work, "Burial Ground" goes even further. A solid mix of classic old school reminiscent of early DEATH and CELTIC FROST and modern influences with a massive production and dark feel, it also dares transgressing their traditional thrash/death style of yore to achieve a much more malign yet as catchy sound.
The "Burial Ground" cover art was created by Will Kuberski of Worthless Endeavors, who also painted the INCANTATION "Vanquish In Vengeance" cover.

Ex-ARCH ENEMY Singer ANGELA GOSSOW: 'It's Really Hard To Say Goodbye'
Angela Gossow, who revealed earlier this week that she was stepping down as frontwoman of ARCH ENEMY and was being replaced by former THE AGONIST vocalist Alissa White-Gluz, has released the following message via her official Facebook page:
"Thank you for all your kind words, your support, your understanding. I am sorry some of you are really sad
So am I, in many ways.
"It's really hard to say goodbye.
"I have had a lot of time to reflect on my life in 2013.. I had to turn a page. We all get to this point in our life sometime. I do embrace this change, I hope you do too.
"I am very busy with [my continued role as the business manager for] ARCH ENEMY right now, as you can imagine. They got a lot of things lined up.
"The music [on the forthcoming ARCH ENEMY album, 'War Eternal'] is still 100% ARCH ENEMY, trust me.
"Thank you for the last 13 years; they have been truly wonderful. I enjoyed playing live for many of you, meeting you, interacting with you.
"I am not sure yet what I'll do with this page, I will most likely use it to keep you up to date with all things ARCH ENEMY, my band management business and whatever else my busy little brain comes across… thoughts, inspirations, things that make me laugh.
"Be well, take good care of yourselves and enjoy life. It's too short to look back."
Due in North America on June 10 via Century Media Records, "War Eternal" was mixed by Jens Bogren (OPETH, PARADISE LOST, KREATOR) at Fascination Street in Örebro, Sweden. ARCH ENEMY will debut new material on a short eastern European tour before the album is released; this trek will then be followed by an extensive run of European summer festivals, including Sweden Rock Festival, Wacken Open Air and many more. A full headlining tour in North America and Europe will take place in fall/winter 2014. ARCH ENEMY in 2012 amicably parted ways with guitarist Christopher Amott and replaced him with American musician Nick Cordle (ARSIS).

VIRGIN STEELE: 'The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell I+II', 'Invictus' Reissues Detailed
SPV/Steamhammer will re-release VIRGIN STEELE's "The Marriage Of Heaven & Hell I+II" and "Invictus" albums in June. These two CD digipak re-releases will come with special bonus material and a huge booklet with new liner notes and previously unseen photos supplied by VIRGIN STEELE singer David DeFeis.
Release dates: Scandinavia: June 11Germany: June 13Rest of Europe: June 16 USA/Canada: June 24 Comments David DeFeis: "It is an honor, and it is my great pleasure, to be able to re-release with SPV the two 'Marriage Of Heaven and Hell' albums and the 'Invictus' album this year. These albums loom large in our catalogue, and so much of our blood, sweat and history can be found within the fabric of these works.
"In addition to the original running order titles, we will also present various bonus tracks. 'The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell' discs contain two live tracks recorded in Germany during 'The Marriage' tour, plus some new songs.
"Originally on the bonus disc for 'Invictus' we had planned to issue this new 19-song 'Ghost Harvest' collection that I had spoken about in the latest interviews. That plan has changed. 'Ghost Harvest', which has now grown into more than one CD at this time, will instead be included in the upcoming box set, and the bonus disc inside 'Invictus', which bears the title 'Fire Spirits', will contain over-the-top acoustic versions of various songs mainly taken from 'The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell' and 'Invictus' albums (but a few others appear as well). It will also contain a brand new track recorded this week.
"The performances on 'Fire Spirits' were captured live and are raw, heartfelt and genuine. We wanted to show those who missed out on the acoustic gigs we had done some of what went on there, and to also express how powerful these stripped down versions can be.
"With the appearance of these reissues and the inclusion of all the various bonus tracks contained within these collections, we give thanks and salute all of you who have taken this barbaric-romantic ride with us.
"We hope you will enjoy these works that celebrate the interaction and chemistry of the group, and which are testament to the enduring strength of our friendship."

BALTIMOORE - New Album Back For More Now Available; Teaser Trailer Posted
BLP Music is pleased to announce the 12th album from Swedish hard rock outfit BALTIMOORE entitled Back For More is out now and available at all leading digital music platforms.
Home to 10 new tracks and led as always by enigmatic vocalist Björn Lodin, Back For More sees the band deliver a fresh take on the Baltimoore sound for 2014 with some new and old faces in the current line-up.
Lodin comments: “My main man for this release is guitar player Mats Attaque. He was actually in a band with me right before I started Baltimoore (READY STEADY). Several of the songs from the first album we also played in that band. Teaming up with him again has been truly inspiring. He’s a great guitar player and singer - a great musician! We grew up in the same area and share a lot of the same rhythm interpretation, coming from the folk music around these parts of Sweden. Drummer Klas Anderhell, long time session player and The Guy you call when you need to get the job done. Having him joining us is a treat. Weine Johansson (bass) and Örjan Fernkvist (organ) are returning and nothing pleases me more. I’m proud of this band!”
Songwriting for the album originally began back in 2011 with some ideas being considered for what would have been Lodin’s third release with Hungarian rock out fit HARD.
“It originally started out as a new Hard album, but as the songs developed I knew this had to be for Baltimoore. It’s been a slow process since starting in October 2011. I had the songs written before I got the final line-up together and as players came along, putting their skills and input to them, it all fell into place. I just ignite and feed off others. We’ve been recording on and off since early 2012 but the album gained momentum in late 2013 and here we are… finished”.
On the album’s style, Lodin continues: “Musically, I think it’s where this band should be – loud guitars along with Hammond organ and a vibrant rhythm section. Lyrically, I don’t know, I bitch, bark and moan about whatever comes to mind, like always. However, there’s an ongoing story in our songs. I seem to end up in same ‘place’ over and over. That’s something I want to take further and explore with visual stuff eventually”.
Back For More features the following tracklist
'Cry Out For Innocence'
'Don't Say No'
'Until The End Of The Line'
'Are You On To Me?'
'Break Into Something New'
'Means To An End'
'Gun Of Doom'
'Sunshine In The Rain'
'Say It Like It Is'
'Back For More'

Finnish Thrashers CURIMUS To Release New Album Via Freezing Penguin / Svart Records; 'Preachings' Lyric Video Streaming
CURIMUS come from the city of Loimaa, Finland. The thrash metal band just celebrated their 10th anniversary and are gearing up for the release of their second full-length album, Artificial Revolution. The album will be released on April 25th on the band's own label, Freezing Penguin, and distributed worldwide by Svart Records.
The production on Artificial Revolution is the handiwork of both the band themselves and main producer Tom Gardiner and studio wizard Daniel Rantanen. When compared to debut album Realization (2011), much more work was done with pre-production on this one. After the first round of demos, it was already clear that the material destined to become the second Curimus album was to be more powerful and diverse than ever before. In production sessions, more focus was given to building a solid set of tracks, and this led to many songs experiencing major shape-shifting as the project rolled on. Artificial Revolution is a strong album that has the classic Curimus thrash metal aggression but lighter and melodic nuances, as well, and all of it end up making the album an even more crushing piece of thrash than ever before.
Artificial Revolution tracklisting:
'Reincarnation'
'Free-Standing Nation'
'No Feast For The Vultures'
'Faith & Obsession'
'Love Song'
'In The Darkness'
'Blade In - Blood Out'
'Preachings'
'Unchained'

NAUMACHIA - New Album Finished, First Song Available Online
Norwegian/Polish blackened death metal act NAUMACHIA, ) has finished work on their fourth full-length album entitled Machine Of Creation. Last year in Hertz Studio (BEHEMOTH, VADER) the musicians recorded, mixed and mastered 10 new songs.
'Multiple Personality' was chosen as the first song to promote the new album. It features vocal parts recorded years ago by Covan (ex-DECAPITATED), for the planned but never released third ATROPHIA RED SUN album. This song also features vocals by Marcin Urbas (ex-SCEPTIC), and can be heard now:
Machine Of Creation is set for a late Spring release, and features the following 10 tracks:
'Amging Sun'
'Primal Instinct'
'Destroyers'
'Frag-men-ted'
'Men Of Down'
'Machine Of Creation'
'Scorched Earth'
'Multiple Personality'
'Lost'
'Amnesia'
The band comments on the final outcome: “This is an extremely important album for us – when it comes to new approach to songs, the sound quality, but first and foremost because of the fact that we composed it with S?awek, our friend and bandmate that we miss a lot. Wies?awscy Bros quickly caught on our intentions and helped us push Naumachia one step further. Music here is very diversified, there are lots of levels and references. Tempos are a bit slower then before. We’ve worked hard on the rhythm and melodies. One can even notice that we turned to the first album, Wrathorn, in a sense. Most songs appeared naturally during rehearsals, music got more energy and space. You’ll find here lots of electronic parts composed by VX. We’re very satisfied with the final outcome, and can’t wait to present the album live on stage”. | 0

RAWBURT Parts With Vocalist; Seek Replacement
Gothenburg, Sweden melodic metallers RAWBURT have announced the departure of original vocalist Stefano Marchesini.
A band statement reads as follows:
"Stefano has decided to leave us without any further notice. His decision came as a complete surprise. With several gigs booked it puts us under some pressure, says the band, who will start the search of a new frontman (or frontwoman) as of now! The band and the songs are bigger than the individuals so we are set for a brand new dawn.
If you are interested in becoming the new lead vocalist, please contact them at info@rawburt.com for further information.
-We are looking for a new frontman, male or female. Not looking for a copycat so we are shooting wide. Clean, growl or scream or everything at once. No boundaries."
The latest video and the title track of their 2013 release 'Salagia', can be seen below. The album is based around the concept of the seven deadly sins, as the title are the mnemonic acronym Salagia based on the first letters in Latin of the seven deadly sins: superbia, avaritia, luxuria, invidia, gula, ira, acedia. | 0

THEOCRACY Part Ways With Drummer, Seek Replacement
Athens, Georgia-based melodic metal band THEOCRACY regrets to announce the departure of longtime drummer Shawn Benson (pictured below) to pursue other interests. Continued work conflicts and scheduling issues simply made it impossible to move forward, so both parties amicably agreed that it was time for a change to be made. There are no hard feelings on either side, and the band wishes Shawn nothing but the best in the future.
“To be honest, I’m pretty devastated about this, as I expected to be playing with Shawn for as long as we kept going,” says vocalist Matt Smith. “But he is moving into a different phase of his life and could no longer give the commitment it takes to be in a band, so ultimately this is the only solution for all parties involved. I’d like to personally thank Shawn for helping to bring three albums from my imagination to reality, and his contributions can never be overstated. He will always be a part of the Theocracy family.”
In the interest of moving forward, Theocracy is beginning to look for candidates to fill the position. Interested parties can contact the band at theocracydrummersearch@gmail.com.
Theocracy recently returned from their third full tour of Europe and are currently working on new material. Their most recent album, As the World Bleeds, received rave reviews and landed on the Billboard Heatseeker Chart in the US upon release. As the World Bleeds is the band’s third album, and their second release for Ulterium Records. | 0

Montreal's DARK CENTURY To Release Murder Hotel Album In April; 'Kill The Crowd' Video Streaming
Montreal-based five-piece DARK CENTURY returns in 2014 with their sophomore album, Murder Motel, to follow up 2009's debut Days Of The Mosh. Produced by one of Montreal’s most respected metal producers Chris Donaldson (CRYPTOPSY, MYTHOSIS, ERIMHA, THE AGONIST, DERELICT, NEURAXIS), Murder Motel is 11 tracks of fury that attacks with vicious lyrics in both English and French, heavy speed demon guitars, pummelling drums accompanying by pounding bass force and ear grind wrenching screams.
Vocalist Leather King states: "This CD is for the moshers; it grooves, it's alive and it's breathing bacon-breath in your face. The writing process for Murder Motel was extensive and well thought-out, but this time we feel we've been able to spit out way more of what this band is all about. We are energy, violence and humour incarnate. So it's right there, guitar solos now included!! Delivered in one package for the world to munch on cholesterol-filled foods while they listen to it.
Some previous subjects are revisited just as much as some new short stories have risen to give fresher flavors to our greasy art. Be ready to get pounded, blasted, shredded and pecked alive by zombie birds because our sophomore effort release is no serious matter. It's f***ing hilarious!"
