EQUILIBRIUM Sandra & Andi quit
 Liebe Fans, dieses Wochenende erreichte uns eine unerwartete Nachricht von Sandra und Andi, in der sie uns mitteilten, dass sie die Band verlassen werden. Untenstehend findet ihr das Statement von beiden. Ein Statement von René, Robse und Hati wird morgen folgen.

Liebe Familie, Freunde, Fans und Crew,
ich möchte Euch meine Entscheidung mitteilen, dass nun der Tag gekommen ist, an dem ich zusammen mit meiner
Schwester Sandra die Band Equilibrium verlassen habe.
Mit Euch allen zusammen hatte ich über ein Jahrzehnt lang die schönsten Konzerte und Touren, eine aufregende Zeit
in meinem Leben die ich nicht missen möchte. Dafür bedanke ich mich bei Euch!
Freud und Leid, Besetzungswechsel aller Art, es war immer viel los.
René, Robse, Hati und crew, vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit. Ich wünsche Euch weiterhin alles Gute, lasst es krachen!
Aber so wie jedes Ende einen Neuanfang hat, ist es eben auch hier. Es wird für mich eine neue Band geben, mit der ich Euch musikalisch und auf der Bühne erhalten bleiben werde.

Für mich geht heute das Kapitel von Equilibrium zuende und ich verlasse gemeinsam mit meinem Bruder Andi die Band.
In 13 Jahren Bandgeschichte habe ich unendlich viel gelernt, Höhen und Tiefen erlebt und Menschen kennengelernt die mein Leben bereichert haben oder meine Lehrmeister wurden.
Ich danke jedem Einzelnen für all die Energie, für all die leuchtenden Augen, Kommentare und Unterstützung!
In meinem Herzen ist alles bewahrt.

Dear family, friends, fans and crew,
I would like to tell you my decision, that my sister Sandra and I left the band Equilibrium. With all of you together, and more than a decade, I had the most beautiful concerts and tours, an exciting time in my life that I do not want to miss. Happieness and sorrow, line-up changes of all kinds, there was always something going on.
René, Robse, Hati and crew, thank you for the nice time. I wish you all the best, go full blast!
Every end is a new beginning. There will be a new band for me, which I will stay with you, musically and on stage.

Dear friends, family, crew and fans!
Today is the day; for me the era of Equilibrium has come to an end. My brother Andi and I have decided to leave the band.
In the past 13 years I got to learn a lot, had many ups and downs and I got to know a lot of people who enriched my life in many ways or have given me the opportunity to learn and grow.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for all the energy, for the happy moments, feedback and support.
I will keep it all in my heart for all times.
René, Robse, Hati and crew. Thanks and all the best for you guys!
For me it’s time to open new doors and find new challenges, for this it was necessary to leave behind the old and move on to something new.

SMASHING PUMPKINS Sign Artist Services Deal With BMG
 SMASHING PUMPKINS announced Tuesday, March 25 via the band's social networks that they've signed an Artist Services deal with BMG. Via Martha's Music/BMG, they will issue two new SMASHING PUMPKINS albums in 2015: "Monuments To An Elegy" and "Day For Night". The first single is expected to be released by year's end.
The PUMPKINS' Billy Corgan says, "For those interested in sound, think: 'guitars, guitars, guitars, and more guitars,' but more so on the epic side of things than say, grossly metallic."
Recording sessions began this week, "as plenty of songs have been written and are ready to go," said Corgan. "Manning the boards will be producer Howard Willing, with whom I first had the pleasure of working with during the 'Adore' sessions. We expect a single out by year's end."
Corgan also noted, "Additionally, this stands as the initial post on a new nexus: The Panopticon, which through its simplicity should better address the speed of modern life. A continuing feature, items regarding each day's recording will be shared that same evening, with song titles, lyrics, poetic impressions, pictures, sound clips, studio gear and the like offered for a circuitous, bird's eye view of the process as it unfolds."
The PUMPKINS released their last studio album in 2012: "Oceania", which entered The Billboard 200 chart at No. 4, earned the No. 1 spot on the Independent Albums chart and garnered vast critical acclaim.
SMASHING PUMPKINS have created one of the most acclaimed bodies of work in musical history having sold more than 30 million albums, and won multiple Grammy Awards in the process. Formed in Chicago in 1988, they released "Gish", their influential and platinum debut in 1991, which was followed by albums including the nine-time platinum "Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness" and the four-time platinum "Siamese Dream", as well as the platinum certified 1998 album "Adore". The group's many hits defined the alternative music era and continue to resonate on modern rock radio, influencing a whole new generation. The PUMPKINS returned in 2007 with their acclaimed sixth album, "Zeitgeist". They have since remained on the cutting edge of music and technology with various online releases.

IN FLAMES' PETER IWERS And BJÖRN GELOTTE To Release '2112 - A Tale Of Meat And Metal' Book
 "2112 - A Tale Of Meat And Metal", a new book by Peter Iwers and Björn Gelotte of the Swedish metal band IN FLAMES, along with journalist Mattias Lindeblad, will be released on May 30 via Kalla Kulor Förlag.
Restaurant 2112 was founded in 2011 by Iwers and Gelotte. The Gothenburg restaurant is named after the RUSH album and has since its opening become a natural venue for domestic and international fans of rock music.
2112 quickly became renowned for its marvelous, award-winning burgers, the well-selected beer and the warm and inviting atmosphere.
In just a few years, Restaurant 2112 has grown to become a home away from home for the rock-loving residents of Gothenburg and international rock stars passing through town.
This book is the story about following your dreams, even though you've never ever set foot on the other side of the bar counter — a tale of meat and metal.
The foreword was written by Hollywood star and IN FLAMES fan Peter Stormare.
Said SLAYER's Kerry King: "It's nice to see a couple of my friends in the biz doing well at something else. Now we have a great place for some drinks!!"
In an interview with EspyRock.com, Iwers stated about the decision to open Restaurant 2112: "We spent plenty of time thinking about it, looking at possible locations and learning the business side of things. Once we were prepared and knew we could open it, me, Bjorn and two other guys just went for it. We took it step by step, and although it was a lot harder than we ever expected it to be, we didn't rush anything. We've got people there who run it for us, and as soon as we're home, then we go straight to the restaurant and we help out. We do anything that needs to be done and on most occasions we're out as the host for all of the parties that come in. There are two parts to it, [the restaurant and also the pub section]. It's not one of these places that you need to wear a suit and tie, and it's also not a rock 'n' roll place either; [it's] something for everyone to enjoy."
Asked what made him and Björn decide on fine dining, Peter said: "A couple of different reasons, actually. When we're out on tour and someone invites you to a place, it always ends up being a rock 'n' roll bar with loud music and clouded in smoke. After a show, I don't want that, I want a hotel bar which is quiet and I can just sit and relax; you know, the piano-and-champagne-type bar [laughs]. I just want to unwind after a show. Another reason is that I enjoy going out with my friends, having something to eat, a few drinks and talk away for the rest of the night, but most places in Sweden close at eleven, so you have to move on to somewhere else. You keep moving round places, but unless you're quick, then they are full and you end up at the loud rock bar anyway. So we decided that we would combine the two and give you a place that you can sit for a long time and dine, enjoy incredible food and drink at affordable prices, and then just move onto the pub area to continue a nice relaxing evening.
"In the beginning, we had two different menus, but we then just made it the same menu so depending on how you feel and where you are, you will still be able to get the same good food and drinks."
"If you were to be there on a Saturday night, then you would notice that it is interesting, because we have a mix of people in IRON MAIDEN t-shirts and then guys in their fifties with their suits and ties on, but everyone mixes perfectly, they all enjoy it and it is very calm, the perfect atmosphere and exactly what we wanted."
Regarding the restaurant's name, 2112, Iwers said: "I think it was one of the other guys who came up with it; his name is Martin. It is a really clean name and we all happen to love RUSH.
"We spent a while talking about what we would call it, because the name is extremely important; people get a feeling of what your restaurant or bar will be like from the name, and if we called it In Flames Bar, then people would think instantly that it was a metal place or somewhere dark and dungeon-like, maybe a bit twisted with people on flames or something stupid. The name though was clean and then the decoration brings out the rock 'n' roll vibe, which is helped with some paintings and we plan to add some guitars and things. So when he said, 'What about '2112', from RUSH?' we thought about some other restaurants that have all numbers or letter/number combinations and it just worked very well. If you know about RUSH, then it's awesome, but if you don't know about RUSH, then it still comes across as a neat name."

CROBOT To Release Self-Titled EP In May
 Central Pennsylvania band CROBOT will release its self-titled four-song EP on May 13 via Wind-Up Records. The tracks were produced by Machine (CLUTCH, LAMB OF GOD, COBRA STARSHIP, GYM CLASS HEROES). Machine and the band are finishing up CROBOTs debut album, which will be released later this year. "Legend Of The Spaceborne Killer" will be available April 1 for download and streaming but fans can go to CrobotBand.com now and unlock #TheLegend to get a free version of the song. "Nowhere To Hide" is going to rock radio on Cinco de Mayo: May 5. CROBOT embodies a mixture of groove-heavy riff-rock that will want to make you bang your head and shake your ass. Think of them as WOLFMOTHER's American cousins who smell like leather (they make leather-scented air fresheners!) and whose music scorches your ears like hot sauce to the taste (yes, they even have their own hot sauce!). You can't help but feel that you are taken into another dimension and back again with the songs of CROBOT. The press have been quick to praise their live shows as The Buffalo News says "…a set described by one concert-goer as 'the nastiest groove-metal I've heard this side of SOUNDGARDEN.'"

METALLICA Is Now Third-Best-Selling Artist Of SoundScan Era
 According to Billboard.biz, METALLICA is the third-best-selling artist of the SoundScan era, with 54.26 million albums sold since 1991. Garth Brooks boasts the most albums sold, with 69.52 million. THE BEATLES ranks second (65.55 million), while Mariah Carey (54.24 million) and Celine Dion (52.21 million) round out the top five.
The Nielsen SoundScan system began compiling sales electronically 23 years ago on a weekly basis, providing more accurate sales figures that form the basis for the Billboard music charts.
As previously reported, METALLICA's self-titled 1991 album should surpass 16 million copies sold in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, in about three or four months at its current rate of sales (about 2,000 to 3,000 per week).
The set — often referred to as "the black album" — was already certified 16 times platinum on December 13, 2012 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association Of America) for shipments in excess of 16 million copies in the U.S.
"Metallica" in 2009 surpassed SHANIA TWAIN's 1997 record, "Come On Over", as the best-selling CD of the SoundScan era.
Although METALLICA had scored their first radio and video airplay with their previous effort, 1988's "...And Justice For All", the black album was the band's biggest commercial breakthrough, producing five singles and making them into one of the most popular rock bands in the world.
The album was the first of four collaborations with producer Bob Rock, with whom the band clashed throughout the recording of the disc.
METALLICA performed "the black album" in its entirety at a number of European festivals in 2012.

'OZZY' Beer Still On Shelves After Baltimore Brewer Receives Cease-And-Desist Letter
 Lawyers for Ozzy Osbourne are trying to stop a brewer from making an unauthorized brand of "Ozzy" beer. Baltimore-based The Brewer's Art named one of its many house brews after Ozzy, with the cans featuring images of his knuckle tattoos as well as bats — including a headless one.
According to The Pulse Of Radio, Ozzy's legal team issued a cease-and-desist order, after which brewery head Tom Creegan announced that the "Ozzy" beer would be pulled. However, according to The Baltimore Sun, liquor stores in Baltimore said they are still selling the beer, and six-packs were available Thursday afternoon at Brewer's Art.
Cynthia Blake Sanders, an intellectual property lawyer who teaches entertainment and sports law at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law, told The Baltimore Sun that celebrities have the right to decide how their names and images are used commercially.
"You can't make the commercial use of a person's name on any product, but particularly not [with] people who have a value on their persona," said Sanders.
"If they called it Ozzy and it wasn't so clearly a sort of heavy-metal styling, somebody might connect it with a different Ozzy," she said. "But when they've used both his tattoo, in addition to his hands" and the bat imagery, "that's really using a great deal of his persona."
During its short time on the shelves, the "Ozzy" beer was acclaimed by brew enthusiasts, with the drink getting a 90 out of 100 rating on the Beer Advocate web site.
Ozzy and BLACK SABBATH will hit the road this Monday (March 31) for a North American tour that begins in Brooklyn, New York and spends most of its time in Canada, before wrapping up in Los Angeles on April 26.

SEPTEKH To Release 'Plan For World Domination' In May
 Swedish death/thrash metal band SEPTEKH will release its debut full-length album, "Plan For World Domination"on May 2. Distribution will be handled by Abyss Records, the same label responsible for releasing the previous two SEPTEKH records.
"Plan For World Domination" was recorded at the legendary Silence Studios and engineered and mixed by Josef Zackrisson. The cover artwork was created by Marcus Claesson.
SEPTEKH says: "We are extremely proud to finally be able to share this sprawling twisted creation.
"This is the Plan, everything that came before were mere stepping stones. This is the full grown aural beast of SEPTEKH."
SEPTEKH released "The Seth Avalanche" EP in 2012, followed by "Apollonian Eyes" EP (both on Abyss Records) in 2013. The same year also saw the release of an award-winning music video for the song "Burn It To The Ground".

CHASTAIN Bassist's THE MIGHTY SWINE To Release 'Last Man Standing' In May
 THE MIGHTY SWINE, which features in its ranks CHASTAIN bassist Mike Skimmerhorn, will release its new album, "Last Man Standing", on May 20 via Broad Horizon Records, Inc.
THE MIGHTY SWINE once again teamed up with Rob Nadler at Fat Track Studio in Forest Park, Ohio to record the 11-song disc. The first single is the title track and will feature a video by Nikk Hearn-Sutton. Other songs include "All That Is Evil", "Two Graves", "Tomorrow", "Vengeance is Mine" and "Dead Man's Stare", for a darker, more political stance than previous releases. It will also feature a scorching rendition of the JUDAS PRIEST classic "Hell Bent For Leather" and the bonus track: "Pool Of Emptiness" (a.k.a. "P.O.E."), which Mike demoed for Broad Horizon Records five years ago. THE MIGHTY SWINE went on hiatus in 2013 while Mike recorded "Surrender To No One", but has returned with a vengeance. After working with David T. Chastain again, Mike wanted to pursue a more progressive, guitar-driven sound aimed at the purists, along with a more modern drummer than the previous releases. He enlisted Stacey Donahue and Jeff Tong on guitar and Rory Faciane on drums for this latest release and the result has been amazing. "I couldn't be any happier with the way this (disc) has turned out," he said. "This is the album I have always wanted to make. WITHIN TEMPTATION: 'Hydra' Tour Diary Episode Three (Video)
 After months of blood, sweat and tears from Dutch symphonic metallers WITHIN TEMPTATION, the band's new album, "Hydra", is now on the road. While the group is on tour, singer Sharon den Adel is keeping a video diary of the trek that shows you what happens during and in between shows, and what it's like for the band to bring "Hydra" to the stage and see people respond to the new songs for the first time.
In the third episode of the diary, you get a real look into the production behind the scenes. You get to see part of the crew build up in Prague and Budapest and guitarist Robert Westerholt pays a visit to see dragons from Prague. Meanwhile, Sharon goes nuts over a clothing sale and winds down in a beautiful Hungarian spa. A birthday, a close call on stage, a new hairstyle, and a special request for you from Sharon.
WITHIN TEMPTATION's new album, "Hydra", sold around 15,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 16 on The Billboard 200 chart.
WITHIN TEMPTATION's previous CD, "Unforgiving", opened with 12,000 units back in March 2011 to land at No. 50.
"Hydra" was released in North America on February 4 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment, the new U.S. partnership between Nuclear Blast owner Markus Staiger and former Roadrunner Records A&R chief Monte Conner. The album was made available in several luxury formats. The cover artwork was created by Romano Molenaar ("X-Men", "Batman", "The Unforgiving").
The digital premium album, complete with digi-booklet, was made available on iTunes and includes 18 audio tracks and a music video. The digital premium album features bonus "Evolution Versions" of four new songs, which contain audio commentary from guitarist Robert Westerholt and singer Sharon Den Adel and give you unique access to the development of the songs, their lyrical inspiration and the sound of the initial demos and vocals.
In a recent interview with Ultimate-Guitar.com, WITHIN TEMPTATION vocalist Sharon Den Adel stated about the songwriting process for "Hydra"": "A lot of bands were inspired by the '80s at the time we were writing 'The Unforgiving' album. There was a lot of music based on the '80s coming out and it had a lot of '80s flavors. With this new album, even though we're only a few years further up the road, you can feel that music has changed again. Music is not inspired on the '80s, but more like there are different influences in the music again. Music's always organic, and you feel things are changing comfortably."
She added: "When people asked us after 'The Unforgiving', 'Are you gonna make another 'Unforgiving' album?" we said, 'Of course.' Because we were really full of it in a positive way. We really like the album a lot and still do like it a lot but we really feel there's an '80s feel to the songs. When we started writing this album, again we felt like we were already knowing we were gonna go a different direction also."

UNLEASHED: Two-Camera Fan-Filmed Mix Of HAMMERFEST Performance
 A two-camera fan-filmed mix of UNLEASHED's March 15 performance at this year's Hammerfest, which was held at Hafan y Mor Holiday Park, Caernarfonshire and Merionethshire, Wales, can be seen below.
UNLEASHED's new album, "Odalheim", was released in April 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was produced by Fredrik Folkare and recorded in at Chrome Studios in Sweden.
With "Odalheim", UNLEASHED not only presented the follow-up to "As Yggdrasil Trembles" in the year 2012, but also continued telling its post-doomsday story, embedded into the Norse mythology.
After the mighty world tree Yggdrasil had trembled and rung in the end of the world, Fimbul winter followed: Three years of darkness and coldness, during which Mother Nature took back what was rightfully hers. This caused the end of life as we know it. Ragnarök. But the warriors who've survived will build a new world out of the old one's ashes. Right here, the story of "Odalheim" begins. Commented bassist/vocalist Johnny Hedlund: "The artwork is made by Sebastian Ramstedt, just like our previous three albums. It shows the new world 'Odalheim' at the break of dawn at Birka shores, and just before the attack of White Christ. The concept of the album is taken from the book by the same name." VOLBEAT Honored In 'Rock/Alternative International' Category At Germany's ECHO Awards
 Danish/American rockers VOLBEAT were honored in the "Rock/Alternative International" category at this year's Echo music awards, Germany's equivalent of the Grammy awards, which was held March 27 in Berlin. Video footage of their acceptance speech can be seen below. Also nominated in the "Rock/Alternative International" category were 30 SECONDS TO MARS, PLACEBO, IMAGINE DRAGONS and BLACK SABBATH.
VOLBEAT's latest album, "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies", was re-released in a special "tour edition" on November 4, 2013. The new version of the act's fifth studio album contains new bonus tracks and a live DVD. The latter features footage of the group performing at a number of major summer festivals in Europe, including the Download festival in the U.K., Rock Am Ring and Rock'n'Heim in Germany, Hellfest in France and Denmark's Roskilde Festival.
"Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies" debuted at No. 1 in several countries when it arrived in April 2012, with the disc entering the Billboard album chart at No. 9.
"Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies" has sold more than 185,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
VOLBEAT will return to North America on April 3 for a tour that brings the Danish/American quartet coast to coast. The run begins at The Fillmore in Denver, Colorado and will wrap the second week of May on the East Coast, with TRIVIUM and DIGITAL SUMMER supporting.
The upcoming tour marks VOLBEAT's fourth visit to North American this album cycle, and follows an excursion as headliners of the Monster Energy Rock Allegiance Tour in August and September 2013. This past year, the band has been one of the largest touring draws on the European continent headlining both festivals and a arena tour, and they appeared at the major Japanese festival Summer Sonic 2013 in both Tokyo and Osaka. Cumulatively, VOLBEAT has performed for over a million fans since the current album was released.

RED DRAGON CARTEL is the band led by former OZZY OSBOURNE and BADLANDS guitarist Jake E. Lee.
RED DRAGON CARTEL's self-titled debut album sold around 5,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 69 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on January 28 via Frontiers Records, the CD was recorded at Las Vegas' The Hideout Recording Studio — owned and operated by Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, IN THIS MOMENT) — and was produced by R. Bernard Mann (a.k.a. Ronnie Mancuso) and Jake E. Lee, and executive-produced, mixed and mastered by Churko.
RED DRAGON CARTEL, which references the axeman's Japanese roots, also features Darren James "D.J." Smith of Canadian metallers WARMACHINE, on vocals, Ronnie Mancuso (BEGGARS & THIEVES) on bass and Jonas Fairley (BLACK BETTY) on drums.
Jake E. Lee is best known for his work in BADLANDS and as guitarist for OZZY OSBOURNE on "Bark At The Moon" and "The Ultimate Sin" albums.

2014 marks the 40th anniversary of RUSH's debut album. This release features the band's classic first vinyl album remastered with impeccable care at Abbey Road studios by Sean McGee, who has been previously responsible for all recent THE BEATLES vinyl remasters.
The "ReDISCovered" vinyl is encased in a 12x12 high-quality box. Pressed on audiophile 200-gram vinyl on the Direct Metal Mastering process, this is the highest-quality vinyl currently available. SOUNDGARDEN Plays First Show With New Touring Drummer MATT CHAMBERLAIN; Video Available
 Reunited grunge legends SOUNDGARDEN played their first show with veteran drummer Matt Chamberlain last night (Thursday, March 27) in Lima, Peru. Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.
Chamberlain is filling in for Matt Cameron on the band's 2014 tour dates, including SOUNDGARDEN's upcoming summer trek with NINE INCH NAILS. Cameron is sitting out the shows shows due to his live commitments with his other group, PEARL JAM. Chamberlain was briefly a member of PEARL JAM himself, joining the band for some touring in 1991 before the release of its debut album, "Ten". He can be seen in the video for "Alive". SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell and bassist Ben Shepherd told The Pulse Of Radio that Cameron can step back into the lineup whenever he feels like it. "Whenever he wants to come out, he's coming out," Cornell said. "And he can change his mind, you know, and we can take out a..." Shepherd interjected: "We got another guy with the same initials playing drums for us, so it makes it really easy." Cornell added: "I'm not really sure what his schedule is. For sure though, when we start working on whatever our next record will be, and any decision we make, he's an absolute member of the band, you know."
Chamberlain has appeared on more than 200 records as a session drummer, recording and touring with artists such as Tori Amos, Peter Gabriel, the WALLFLOWERS, Fiona Apple, Kanye West, Elton John, Natalie Merchant, John Mayer, Shakira and many others. He was also a member of the "Saturday Night Live" house band during the 1991-1992 season.
Cameron announced last November that he would sit out SOUNDGARDEN's 2014 tour dates due to his PEARL JAM commitments as well as his desire to spend more time with his family at home.

URIAH HEEP To Release New Album 'Outsider' In June
 Progressive rock legends URIAH HEEP will release their new album, "Outsider", in June via Frontiers Records.
URIAH HEEP's one-off show at Koko, in Camden, London, England on March 4 wwas filmed and released as a live DVD on Frontiers Records in later 2014/early 2015. As well as a host of HEEP classics, the set also included some new songs that will appear on the upcoming CD, following 2011's "Into the Wild", which was the band's highest-charting album since the 1970s in worldwide territories.
Fans attending the show also got a chance of being filmed themselves, not only as part of the audience, but also for some special bonus features to be included on the DVD.
2014 is set to be yet another big one for Mick Box and the band as they prepare to release the new material, and, of course, keep on touring; HEEP has been round the world several times in the last 24 months visiting South Africa, Australia, Asia, North America, South America and East and West Russia. The band headlined the first-ever Planet Rock Stock in December.
HEEP will play the prestigious Sweden Rock Festival in the summer.
The Koko show followed a set of intimate U.K. February dates.

FAIRYLAND Mastermind Phil Giordana Issues Statement On New Album, Current Health Issues
 Napalm Records reports: "Over the last couple years we have received numerous emails from FAIRYLAND fans wondering when a new album would be released. Score To A New Beginning, the 2009 symphonic masterpiece stemming from the musical genius of Philippe Giordana was the last release and it has been fairly quiet ever since. We just received a message from Phil which made made us initially sad but Phil was never a person to feel sorry for himself. So we would like to wish him the best to get better soon and to find the courage and strength to complete a new album."
Phil Giordana states: "Dear all (fans, non-fans, newcomers, that guy in accounting).
It is no secret that I have been struggling with health problems since 2010/2011. I have vestibular degeneration, a condition that more often than not leaves me bed-ridden. Nausea, vertigos, vomiting, this is all part of my life now. It has also taken its toll on my composition/song-writing abilities. Hard to create new songs when life gives you the metaphorical finger.
Anyroad, I have five new songs ready for the next Fairyland album. One of those will be recorded soon with full capacity production (ie: what the album will likely sound like). I'm still having second thoughts about who will be singing on that one song, but all in all it's gonna be great! Just hang in there, and a new Fairyland album will come up soon enough.
I would really like to thank all the people who have given me support these past few years, be it my label (Napalm), my friends and family, or fans of the band. You're all the reasons I need to carry on."

TRUCKER DIABLO Go On Hiatus
 Guitarist/vocalist Tom Harte of Northern Ireland-based old school classic rockers TUCKER DIABLO has issued the following band news:
"It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to put the brakes on Trucker Diablo for the foreseeable future. I had a sit down with my partner Cheryl yesterday who has been suffering with an illness that affects her mobility for some time now and has gradually been getting worse over the last few months, which has resulted in Cheryl and my son Caleb suffering from me commiting time to my duties in the band. I have to prioritise Cheryl and Caleb over the band and that's really the bottom line. I started, named and have wrote majoirty of the music in Trucker Diablo so its hard for me to let go, but for the sake of my family I have to. The decision has been made easier by Simon (Haddock - Guitar/Vocals) leaving to be honest and puts things in perspective when you have a family to support and a dream to fulfill, but sometimes fate rolls the dice and they cannot mutually exist.
The music industry has always been an industry of ups and downs. There is so much cost and sacrifice to try and rise above the noise and leave a dent, I am just so proud that so many people liked the music. I remember sitting for the best part of six months writing Songs of Iron in my wee rock shed and after being really excited to get the album out, so many firsts, writing Drink Beer Destroy drunk and writing Maybe You're The One and not considering it for the album, supporting FOO FIGHTERS, BLACK STONE CHERRY, Dee Snider rockin out side of the stage at Download festival, Ricky Warwick for agreeing to be on on the first album and being a constant supporter of us and the band. Thanks to Simon, Glenn, Terry and their partners for their support and my partner Cheryl who has been with me from the start. Also want to thank Darren Seaton and Baz for helping to guide the Big Truck, it was a blast and not to forget the Diamond Rock Club for being the epicentre of rock and support. To all our friends, promoters, fan and bands thank you all but getting on board the Big Truck. I am proud of what we acheived as a band. I like to think of a lot of the fans as friends and want to extend my gratitude for supporting me and the guys down the years. I'm sure Terry (Crawford -Drums) and Glenn (Harrison - Bass Guitar) will release their thoughts at some point too.
Songwriting is in my blood and in my heart and all I ever wanted to do was to make the best music that moves people in some kind of way.
I will continue to write songs for myself and for others so its not completely the end, I may even release an album , who knows lol... Baby steps for now.

Third Episode Of 'Cooking Hostile With Phil Anselmo' Posted Online
 The third episode of "Cooking Hostile" — the newly launched animated series based on a completely off-the-wall premise: PANTERA frontman Philip Anselmo hosting his own cooking show — can be seen below. The program takes snippets of some of PANTERA's best-known songs and changes the lyrics to ones that are more cooking-centric.
"Cooking Hostile" is the brainchild of Gainesville, Florida's Joey Siler, who also fronts the PANTERA tribute band GOOD FRIENDS & A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY.
Asked how he came up with the idea to do "Cooking Hostile", Siler told Vanyaland: "I was just joking around at band practice after we got done jamming '5 Minutes Alone' and I told the guys, 'What if Phil had his own cooking show and I changed the lyrics to '5 Minutes On Low?'' Everyone got a good laugh out of it. It was nothing more than a joke, but I had recently got into doing animation as a hobby at the beginning of this year and had messed around with making a few animations and decided to come up with some ideas for the 'Cooking Hostile With Phil Anselmo' [two-and-half-minute short] video. During the next week, I picked a few PANTERA songs and worked on changing the lyrics up and showed the guys and they thought it was hilarious, so we laid down the tracks and I started working on the animation. The whole project was probably done in about four weeks."
Regarding the process of creating the first "Cooking Hostile" 10-minute episode, Siler said: "I can tell you I have much more respect for people that work in animation after working on this project. It's very time consuming, and I have real job with a 40-hour work week, so it all had to be done in my spare time. That's the main reason it has taken so long. After I saw the interest in the first one, I decided to take a lot more time on the next one and make it the best I could for what I have to work with. As for the process, I start with writing out the lyrics to the song I want to parody first and then record the music and vocals. Then I usually sketch out the scene to give me a general idea to help with the animation process."
Anselmo reportedly told an interviewer that the found the original two-and-half-minute "Cooking Hostile With Phil Anselmo" short — which has received more than half a million views on YouTube so far — "fucking hilarious, fucking fantastic," and gave it "two big thumbs up." In addition, the short was shown in October 2013 at Anselmo's Housecore Horror Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
"It was just great to hear he wasn't suing us!" laughed Siler. "But really, Phil seems to have a great sense of humor and it was awesome to just to know he had seen it and got a good laugh out of it. We couldn't have asked for a better response."
He added: "Corey Mitchell, who created the [Housecore Horror Film Festival] with Phil, actually contacted me on YouTube asking me if I would be interested in allowing the original short for Phil and his film festival. I'm honored to be a part of it."

SHINEDOWN: 'Through The Ghost' Video Released
 SHINEDOWN's video for the song "Through The Ghost" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's fourth album, "Amaryllis", which came out in 2012. The CD was somewhat of an underperformer for SHINEDOWN, following the platinum-plus sales and chart success of its previous effort, 2010's "The Sound Of Madness".
SHINEDOWN reportedly entered the studio in January to begin work on its fifth album. Few details on the project are available, but drummer Barry Kerch told The Pulse Of Radio that the band had plenty of songs written already. "I'd say well over 30 songs," he said. "There's quite a bit of material out there, it's just, is it gonna work? Is it gonna flow with whatever that record's sound is at that time? Because really, records are a time capsule of what you're going through at that period in your life, so once you start piecing that together, even if it's a good song or a song that you really like, is it gonna fit on this record man? You have to go through that whole process. It can be painstaking for sure, but in the end you get a great record."
SHINEDOWN singer Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers released four more acoustic cover songs on March 18, including their take on BON JOVI's classic ballad "Wanted Dead Or Alive". The four tracks were originally part of an album called "(Acoustic Sessions)", but did not get certain permissions in time from the original artists, forcing the six other tunes to be issued as an EP. The four additional songs, which also include covers of ADELE's "Someone Like You", PEARL JAM's "Black" and PHIL COLLINS' "In The Air Tonight", came out under the title "(Acoustic Sessions, Pt. 2)".
The first six covers was released in January and included songs from THE CLASH, OTIS REDDING, METALLICA, SOUL ASYLUM, KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD and THE BLACK CROWES.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD To Reissue 'Waking The Fallen' With Bonus Demo Tracks, DVD
 AVENGED SEVENFOLD singer M. Shadows has revealed to Loudwire that the band plans to reissue its 2003 effort, "Waking The Fallen", with bonus material. Shadows says, "We're going to put something together for the 10-year anniversary of 'Waking The Fallen', which is about 11 or 12 years now. We've been trying to think of something we could put together and we found some old demos that we did with Teppei [Teranishi] from THRICE before we even did that record. We also found some old footage with [late AVENGED SEVENFOLD drummer] Jimmy [Sullivan] playing some old shows at The Henry Fonda Theater in L.A., and the Ventura Theater. We'll put together a cool DVD and some demo tracks and re-release 'Waking The Fallen' for newer fans of the band that haven't gotten that or don't know about the history of the band."
According to Shadows, AVENGED is also planning to release a new DVD. Shadows tells the site, "It is going to encompass the whole world that we've been filming for the last five years being in all these different countries with our camera guy. That'll be a fun thing. I think we're going to film some big shows. I think we’re filming Mexico City coming up and we have some other shows we're going to film and kind of intertwine the live performance with this huge DVD we want to do. That will probably come out before Christmas."
AVENGED SEVENFOLD has tapped Andrew Baird (CAGE THE ELEPHANT, CARRIE UNDERWOOD) to direct the video for the band's song "This Means War". The clip is described as "a grisly street fight on the dark streets of an urban metropolis. Haunted by dark creatures and lost souls."
"This Means War" is taken from AVENGED SEVENFOLD's sixth and latest album, "Hail To The King", which came out last year and was the band's second straight CD to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, following 2010's "Nightmare".
AVENGED SEVENFOLD has released the animated series based around "Hail To The King". The six-episode series is available on Machimina's HappyHour channel on YouTube and also serves as a prologue and back story for the group's mobile game, "Hail To The King: Deathbat", which will debut later in the year. The series was directed by Jon Schnepp, producer of the Adult Swim animated show "Metalocalypse".
Both the series and game tell the story of AVENGED SEVENFOLD's fictional mascot, the Deathbat.
The band recorded seven brand new songs for the game, which will also include 16 pieces of never-before-seen artwork from all the group's albums that players can unlock.

BLACK ANVIL To Release 'Hail Death' In May
 New York-based black metal crew BLACK ANVIL will release its third full-length album, "Hail Death", on May 27 via Relapse Records. The CD includes the stunning cover art of Metastazis (BEHEMOTH, ALCEST, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER).
According to a press release, "Hail Death" is BLACK ANVIL's most epic and fully realized album to date. It's one of those rare releases that not only stays true to the band's roots but manages to transcend them in a way that works all of their seemingly disparate influences into an amalgam of heavy music that's as original as it is earth-shaking. The sonic fury was captured at Magpie Cage by J. Robbins of JAWBOX, who, although best known for recording punk and post-hardcore acts, perfectly understood the band's creative vision. "He's got a really good style of making records and I knew he would understand that we wanted to make this sound live and organic as opposed to tight and compressed," relays BLACK ANVIL bassist/vocalist Paul Delaney, citing KISS' "Destroyer" and METALLICA's "Master Of Puppets" as inspiration. "I wanted it to be a little more rock 'n' roll sounding because I felt the songs were a little bigger and structured. It tells a story from beginning to end and the recording reflects that." As such, the behemoth offering includes a bonus track: a cover of "Under The Rose" from KISS' iconic ninth studio recording, "The Elder".
"Hail Death" wasn't an easy album to make and the band members' personal turmoil is reflected in every frenzied moment of the album. "I went through a lot of stuff over the past year and it caused me to move and spend a year of my life in solitude," Delaney says, explaining that for twelve months he would sit in his room and pour all of his energy and inner chaos into these songs. "This is our journey. I can honestly say that this is probably the most important thing I've ever done in my life, even if it never sees the light of day for some reason I'm insanely proud of it." SABATON: 'To Hell And Back' Lyric Video Released
 The official lyric video for "To Hell And Back", the new single from Swedish metallers SABATON, can be seen below. The track is available on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.
"Heroes", the new album from SABATON, will be released on May 16 via Nuclear Blast Records. The cover artwork for the effort was created by Péter Sallai. A number of bonus tracks will be made available, including cover versions of songs originally written and recorded by METALLICA, BATTLE BEAST and RAUBTIER.
METALLICA - "For Whom The Bell Tolls"
Says SABATON: "All of us are old fans of METALLICA. The choice of the song was difficult, but we all could agree on that one. As an addition, 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' was the first heavy metal song ever performed on a stage by Pär."
BATTLE BEAST - "Out Of Control"
Says SABATON: "BATTLE BEAST was our secret guest at our latest Sabaton Cruise and we all enjoyed watching them perform their songs live. We thought we wanted to support young and upcoming bands and decided to do a cover of them."
RAUBTIER - "En Hjältes Väg"
Says SABATON: "RAUBTIER are our brothers from the north of Sweden. We have played together countless times and in the past, and Thobbe used to be in this band. At a special concert in 2012, Joakim performed this song live together with RAUBTIER and it awoke the idea of doing a cover version. Seeing to the song title it was also a natural choice for our latest album, 'Heroes'."

"We had the title in mind since before we even recorded 'Carolus Rex' and we already had ideas for artwork years ago," says SABATON bassist Pär Sundström. "We had a few different ones to choose from, but when we saw this one, we knew it was the right one for this album."
"Heroes" was recorded at The Abyss, the recording studio in Pärlby outside Ludvika, Sweden owned and operated by record producer and musician Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN).
SABATON played its first show with new drummer Hannes Van Dahl on November 16, 2013 at the Metal Hammer Paradise festival in Germany.
Regarding their decision to enlist Hannes Van Dahl, SABATON said in a statement: "For some time, there has been rumors about Robban [Bäck] coming back soon, or that Snowy [Shaw] would fill in for a while longer, or even take Robban's place permanently behind the drums.
"To put an end to these rumors we now present our new full-time member in SABATON: Hannes Van Dahl.
"Hannes has previously played in EVERGREY, which we have toured with in the past, and he has also worked side by side with us as drum technician for Snowy during his time in SABATON."
SABATON will return to the U.S. and Canada in April as direct support to American metallers ICED EARTH on their "Worldwide Plagues" North American tour. Opening each show on the six-week trek will be Dutch metallers REVAMP (featuring NIGHTWISH singer Floor Jansen).

TOMBS To Release 'Savage Gold' In June
 Brooklyn, New York's TOMBS has set "Savage Gold" as the title of its third album, due on June 10 (one day earlier internationally) via Relapse Records. The CD's artwork was created by renowned tattooist Thomas Hooper, who has worked with the band on their previous album covers. According to a press release, "Savage Gold" focuses the awesome strength of TOMBS' previous works into one brilliantly dark post-punk and extreme black-metal masterpiece. Recorded and produced by HATE ETERNAL's Erik Rutan (who has previously produced CDs from CANNIBAL CORPSE and GOATWHORE, among others), "Savage Gold" both expands upon the moody post-punk foundations that TOMBS' prior albums explored while also bringing out the band's most traditionally metal moments yet.
