EARTH CRISIS: 'Salvation Of Innocents' Album Details Revealed
 Candlelight Records has set a March 3 European and March 4 North American release date for "Salvation Of Innocents", the label debut from hardcore/metal pioneers EARTH CRISIS. Mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (AGNOSTIC FRONT, TERROR, HATEBREED), the album and its lead single, "The Morbid Glare", will be available for preorder via iTunes and other digital platforms beginning January 20/21.
"Salvation Of Innocents" features twelve new tracks from the Syracuse-formed band. Production of the bold concept album offered the respected five-piece an extraordinary recording experience. Guitarist Scott Crouse shares: "The process for this album was new for us. We did most of it ourselves. The absence of pressure having to get things done by a certain time each day really gave us the freedom to try new ideas and critically listen to the songs. From the music, to the lyrical concept, to the comic book that brings the lyrics to life, we think we've created something pretty unique."
The comic book Crouse mentions is the pairing of EARTH CRISIS with Black Mask Studios' Liberator comic. The hard-edged vigilante series will release its fifth edition simultaneously with the release of Salvation. The Matt Miner-created comic brings its main character and the Salvation Of Innocents'' vivisection concept together in a commanding graphic landscape. Black Mask Studios co-founder Matt Pizzolo says, "It is crazy to me that it took twenty years for comics to produce a set of animal-minded vigilantes strong enough to roll with EARTH CRISIS. It is probably the most perfectly aligned superhero team-up ever."
"Salvation Of Innocents" and Liberator will share original cover art from Chicago-based illustrator/painter Menton3. The comic will feature additional works by illustrators Rod Reis, Javier Aranda and Joaquin Pereyra. Liberator creator Matt Miner says, "Working with EARTH CRISIS on the comic book side of 'Salvation Of Innocents' has been a dream project for me. Our styles, ethics, and ideologies are a fitting match and I'm super excited for folks to read the story."
Fans pre-ordering "Salvation Of Innocents" via iTunes will receive "The Morbid Glare" as an immediate download as part of the digital outlet's Instant Grab Track promotion. Preordering will begin 24-hours prior to a special Lambgoat.com world premiere of the album track "De-Desensitize"", set for January 22.
Talking candidly about the album's single, Crouse says, "'The Morbid Glare' is a song that really challenged most of the band members mainly since it's the fastest tempo we've ever written at. Ian [Edwards, bassist] wrote the majority of the song, and we all had a common goal of trying new things on this record. This is certainly new territory for us. Working at this speed was uncomfortable at times," he says, "but we think the song really came out great in the end."
No hardcore or metal fan can be unaware of EARTH CRISIS or the contributions the band has made to heavy music since their founding in 1989. Regardless of passing trends, the band has maintained their vision, dedication to their craft (and causes), and most importantly respected their fans. Media giants CNN, CBS and MTV have applauded the straightedge, vegan band that to date has released seven full-length albums, two EPs, and two live albums, their most recent, 2011's "Neutralize The Threat" (Century Media).

SOCIETY 1 Recording 'Rise From The Dead' EP
 After playing a series of live shows throughout 2013, SOCIETY 1 felt it had polished enough new material to head back into the studio to record an EP entitled "Rise From The Dead".
"There is no better way of getting new material together than to develop it live in front of a crowd. The songs grow and develop a life that can only happen through that experience. Besides it felt great getting back out there and play primarily new stuff. Everything was reborn and exciting," said vocalist Lord Zane.
Helming the new EP is an up-and-coming producer Alex Crescioni, someone that is said to be "connected to the Los Angeles scene with fresh ears."
"Alex is younger than all of us and is also in his own band called DIMINISHED 7 that has been part of the L.A. scene now for years," said Zane. "He's not up in the hills overlooking Hollywood like a spoiled hotshot and has done everything he can to produce as many acts as possible to hone his skills.
"I heard some of his work and was impressed. I liked that he is in the middle of all the chaos and hunger amongst the current crop of local acts. That kind of immersion into the scene affects you in a way that can't be duplicated. I'm hoping he brings that energy to the recording process."
SOCIETY 1 plan on releasing the EP through singles, with the first one, entitled "It's Yours Now", coming as soon as February 2014. A video and more tour dates will follow. | 0 | |

KYLESA Launches RETRO FUTURIST RECORDS
 KYLESA — Phillip Cope, Laura Pleasants and Carl McGinley II — will launch Retro Futurist Records next month with the January 28 release of Canadian prog trio SIERRA's album "Pslip". "The idea behind Retro Futurist Records is to provide an artist-friendly home to bands we like and bands we feel are relevant in aesthetic, sound, concept and/or ethics," explained Pleasants. The first release to come from the Savannah-based label is a vinyl release of SIERRA's debut album, "Pslip". The effort was produced by Cope and recently described by Caught In The Carousel as "so wrought with high-octane power, crunching riffs, catchy melodies, and good old-fashioned rock and roll that you'll want to hear it over and over again."
The Kitchener prog trio SIERRA will join KYLESA for a leg of the band's European tour (Jan. 19 to Feb. 2). OZZY OSBOURNE Thought He Would Lose His Family During Drug Relapse
 According to The Pulse Of Radio, Ozzy Osbourne has opened up in a new interview with the U.K.'s NME about his relapse into drug and alcohol abuse last year as well as his temporary separation from wife and manager Sharon Osbourne. Ozzy revealed last April that he had been abusing drugs and alcohol for 18 months, which led Sharon to move out of their home until he took steps to get sober again. He eventually did and the couple reconciled.
The BLACK SABBATH frontman revealed that when Sharon found out he was using drugs again, "She was very pissed off. I thought I was gonna lose my family at one point . . . She just said, 'Look, I've got my own thing going on, and I can't deal with you any more. Get the fuck out. Sort yourself out, then we'll talk.' I don't blame her in the slightest."
Asked what triggered his relapse, Ozzy said, "For no reason at all, you'll suddenly think, 'I fancy a drink,' and your head will say, 'Let yourself have one.' Next thing you know you're scraping yourself off the garage floor three days later . . . it's a disease of the mind and body, and you can't control it."
Ozzy was using drugs and alcohol during the recording sessions for BLACK SABBATH's reunion album, "13," although bandmates Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler revealed a few days ago that they were shocked at the time to find out from Sharon that Ozzy had fallen off the wagon.
"13" was the first SABBATH album since 1978 to feature Ozzy, Iommi and Butler recording together. The album came out in June and went No. 1 in several countries, including the U.S. where it became the group's first-ever chart-topper.

LOSTPROPHETS Singer IAN WATKINS' Child Sex Case: Sentencing Remarks Posted Online
 LOSTPROPHETS singer Ian Watkins was sentenced to 29 years in prison after pleading guilty to 13 sexual offense charges, including the attempted rape of an 11-month-old baby. According to BBC News, the 36-year-old Watkins was sentenced on Wednesday (December 18) after pleading guilty last month at Cardiff Crown Court in Wales, where Watkins is from. His two co-defendants, women in their 20s who were the mothers of children he abused, were handed prison terms of 14 and 17 years.
Watkins must serve at least two-thirds of his jail time before being eligible for parole, followed by another six years of probation.
The judge in the case said it broke "new ground" and "plunged into new depths of depravity."
He added that Watkins showed a "complete lack of remorse" and that what the women did in handing over their children to Watkins was "both sickening and incomprehensible."
Watkins' defense attorney said that her client "belatedly realized the gravity of what happened" and was "deeply, deeply sorry." The singer has maintained that he did not remember many of the incidents due to drug abuse.

Watkins admitted to the attempted rape and sexual assault of a child under 13 but pleaded not guilty to rape.
He also pleaded guilty to conspiring to rape a child, three counts of sexual assault involving children, seven involving taking, making or possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.
According to The Pulse Of Radio, Detective Chief Inspector Peter Doyle, the senior officer on the case, revealed that new information has led to investigations of Watkins' activities now being launched in Germany and the United States.
Watkins was arrested last December on the charges. LOSTPROPHETS announced they were splitting in October and denounced their former singer in recent statements.

TOOL's JUSTIN CHANCELLOR Remembers Christmas At Home
 TOOL may not be leaving a new record under the tree for fans this holiday season, but that doesn't mean that the band itself won't enjoy the break. The Pulse Of Radio asked bassist Justin Chancellor what Christmas was like around his family's home back when he was younger. "Pretty much a family affair," he said. "We'd always be together as a family and just have too much food and too much port. [laughs] Just kind of very traditional. My mother was sort of mildly religious, but the rest of us, you know, we didn't really have it forced on us. It was more of just a family time to be together that was like designated time that we would all go home." TOOL is reportedly working on its new album, with singer Maynard James Keenan recently telling Rolling Stone that it's been delayed because his bandmates take so long to assemble the music.
TOOL's last album, "10,000 Days", came out in 2006. The band has toured a few times since then.

Video: TODD LA TORRE-Fronted Version Of QUEENSRŸCHE Performs In Reno
 Fan-filmed video footage of the Todd La Torre-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE performing on December 13 at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada can be seen below.
The Todd La Torre-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE in September filmed a "mini movie," with the tracks "Spore", "Midnight Lullaby", "A World Without" and "X2" providing the score to a 10-plus minute story, dubbed "Queensrÿche: Ad Lucem". The film was created by Veva Entertainment Co. with director Daniel Andres Gomez Bagby and producer Marco De Molina and was filmed on location at Central City Stages in Los Angeles.
Commented Todd: "We decided to take a different approach with this video, which is comprised of four pieces of music from our latest self-titled release, 'Queensrÿche'. It's a conceptual mini-movie music video that invites the audience to scratch beneath the surface a bit, rather than the usual 'chewed food' that so many are used to being fed. We really wanted to deviate from a performance type of video so the music and story-line could be the main focus." He added: "The overall theme of the song 'Spore' is one that deals with personal demons, relationship struggles, career pressures, personal/professional morals and ethical dilemmas. These are issues we all face on some level and the video touches upon them all.
"'Midnight Lullaby'/'A World Without' deals with the loss of a mother during childbirth, leaving a father as a single parent and struggling to move forward through the turmoil.
"'X2', though it opens up our album, provides for a nice outro to it all. The end result is a roller coaster of emotion in an effort to find a healthy resolve.
"Given our history, we feel that this multifaceted conceptual video, along with a great cast of actors to suit, will really resonate with our fans."
QUEENSRŸCHE's new, self-titled album sold around 13,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 23 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on June 25 via Century Media Records.
"Queensrÿche" marks the debut release from the lineup comprised of Todd La Torre (vocals; ex-CRIMSON GLORY), Michael Wilton (guitar), Parker Lundgren (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass) and Scott Rockenfield (drums). The drums for the album were recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, Washington with producer James "Jimbo" Barton — the man who engineered and mixed the band's classic 1988 LP, "Operation: Mindcrime", and its 1990 follow-up, "Empire", and co-produced 1994's "Promised Land". The rest of the music and vocals were laid down at several different facilities on the West Coast. IN THIS MOMENT: 'Live At The Orpheum' DVD To Be Made Available With 'Blood Special Edition'
 Southern California's IN THIS MOMENT will release "Blood Special Edition", a two-disc set featuring the band's breakthrough album "Blood" and the bonus live DVD "Blood At The Orpheum", on January 21, 2014 in North America via Century Media. The set includes a bonus cover of the NINE INCH NAILS track "Closer" on "Blood", and the live DVD contains a full 100-minute concert shot in Madison, Wisconsin earlier this year, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews.

"But once in a while it's such an adrenaline rush. The other day I went out there and the funniest thing — I didn't realize it in the moment, but they told me afterwards that I said as I was walking through the crowd, 'Nobody touch me! I get anxiety!' 'Cause I spread the crowd open and walked through, and I said that! [laughs] And it works! I mean, they part the way!"
IN THIS MOMENT will kick off 2014 with "The Hellpop Tour II". Set to launch January 2 in Portland, Oregon, the 16-city trek wraps January 25 in Cape Coral, Florida, where the band will then make a return engagement on the Shiprocked cruise January 26-30, which sets sail out of Miami, Florida to Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. VINCE NEIL Brings Two Little Girls Up On Stage For 'Girls Girls Girls' Performance (Video)
 Fan-filmed video footage of MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil's December 13 performance at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada can be seen below.
In a December 2012 interview with MLive.com, Neil spoke about what keeps him inspired to play casinos around the country with his solo band when he is not busy performing in arenas around the world with the CRÜE. "I do it because I'm having fun," he said. "I love the arenas but it's fun to be onstage in smaller venues with these guys. You don't have to put on a big show when the music does the talking."
Neil, who penned "Tattoos & Tequila: To Hell and Back with One of Rock's Most Notorious Frontmen", a 2010 biography that captured the ups and downs of his long, wild ride, claims to have come out a better person after after his countless battles with the law and a number of legal and personal setbacks.
"I've learned from the mistakes I've made," Neil said, "and I know how to do things better next time. Through it all, you have to believe in your music. When times get bad, you can't give up. You can't be too proud. Things will get better, absolutely."
Neil's live backing band continues to consist of bassist Dana Strum and Jeff Blando (both of SLAUGHTER) and drummer Zoltan Chaney.
Neil's latest solo album, "Tattoos & Tequila", sold 7,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 57 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was issued in Europe on June 4, 2010 via Frontiers Records and was made available in the U.S. on June 22, 2010 through Eleven Seven Music.
Neil recorded "Tattoos & Tequila" in the winter of 2009 with Strum, Blando and Chaney. Drummer MARCO MINNEMANN To Guest On AMADEUS AWAD Album
 Lebanese guitarist and composer Amadeus Awad has already worked with some of the greatest musicians from the world of prog in the past, including Gavin Harrison of PORCUPINE TREE fame, Russell Allen (SYMPHONY X), Amanda Somerville, Mark Boals (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) and Kevin Moore (DREAM THEATER), to mention but a few. From everything mentioned, the comparison with Arjen Lucassen is justified and well deserved.
Awad has two studio albums under his belt, 2011's "Ghost Stories" and 2012's "The Equinox". Besides, as the annoucement of what is to be his third album "Schizanimus", he already recorded three songs for an EP of the same name, featuring Elia I. Monsef on vocals, Dean Veall on bass, Danny Bou-Maroun on keyboards and above-mentioned Gavin Harrison on drums. He has recently completed work on the upcoming album, adding more songs. The new songs feature Marco Minnemann on drums.
"The new songs being a bit on our heavy side, [so] it required some intense drumming from one of the most interesting drummers on the international music scene," says Awad. "Our man for the job had to be the amazing Marco Minnemann who brought in some sick grooves to our already sick rollercoaster of prog."
Asked about working with Awad, Minnemann said: "The music is great and I had a lot of fun drumming to it.

MIDNITE HELLION Releases 'Hour of the Wolf' 7-Inch Single
 New Jersey metallers MIDNITE HELLION have released the "Hour Of The Wolf" seven-inch, limited-edition vinyl single. METALLICA: Official HD Footage Of Entire Antarctica Concert
 METALLICA has made the band's entire historic "Freeze 'Em All" concert in Antarctica available for viewing on the group's official YouTube channel. Check it out below. The 10-song show, which is availble for digital purchase at METALLICA's official web site, took place at an Argentinean base on the world's southernmost continent, with a small audience of fans in attendance and hearing the show through headphones. METALLICA played one of the first rock concerts ever staged in Antarctica, and became the only band to ever perform on all seven continents in one year.

CALIBAN: 'King' Lyric Video Released
 The official lyric video for the song "King" from Germany's CALIBAN can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "Ghost Empire", which will be released on the following dates via Century Media Records:

The CD was produced by by guitarist Marc Görtz in cooperation with Benny Richter.
Said Görtz of the the "Ghost Empire" art, which was created by U.K. artist Chris Lovell: "Another great artist told me about Chris and his art. When I checked out his page, I loved his style and amazing drawings straight away. So I wrote him a message if he would be into designing a t-shirt design for us. It turned out great, so there was no doubt whom to ask for the new album artwork for 'Ghost Empire'! I told him what the album is about and he said that he would love to do it. It didn't take long for him to come up with first ideas which were amazing! I hope we can work with him on other projects in the future, he is a great guy and easy to work with and I think the result speaks for itself!"
Added Lovell: "I have been heavily into metal since the age of 12.
"It's always nice when a band I am a fan of contacts me with a brief for a project.
"I was stoked to read Marc's ideas as post-apocalyptic imagery is something I have an obsession with. I grew up loving films like 'Mad Max', 'Cyborg' and the 'Fist Of The North Star' anime. There's something about destroyed buildings and wastelands that stir my imagination and conjure up all kinds of haunting images in my head. It's also much more fun and easier to draw ruined buildings than perfect ones!
"Marc and I brainstormed ideas one evening and we came up with lots of elements we liked such as crows, scarecrows, rats etc. I sketched out a very rough concept idea and layout for the basic image. The front and back cover is all in one, so I had a nice wide landscape to work with. I liked the idea of a road on the main cover, leading to what could look like a hive of collapsed skyscrapers and buildings, leaning on each other and climbing into the clouds. On the left side a cliff face leading down to stormy seas and a shore line littered with ship wrecks and capsized boats.
"I wanted the image to look void of human life and haunting.
"I drew out the bulk of the main image in pencil, then used inks and acrylic paint to add depth and highlights. I then scanned the image in and coloured it with a graphics tablet on Photoshop. I drew a number of other elements, like telegraph poles, crows, skulls and rats and scanned them in separately.
"I wanted to be able to experiment with placement and give the band the option to move elements around etc.
"I lost track of how many hours I put into the piece, it all becomes a blur.
"I like to stream horror movies or listen to music and just lose myself in the art I make.
"I have a bit of an obsession with detail and I tend to spend hours tweaking elements on an image people will probably never even notice.
"CALIBAN have been a pleasure to work with. After I had the pleasure of hearing the demos while working on this project it is an honour to have done the artwork for what will be an amazing album!"
CALIBAN's eighth studio album, "I Am Nemesis", entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 21.

KADAVAR On Their Favorite Moments Of 2013 (Video)
 A four-and-a-half-minute video clip of Berlin, Germany-based classic/psychedelic rockers KADAVAR talking about their favorite moments of 2013 can be seen below.
KADAVAR earlier in the year parted ways with bassist Mammut. The group commented: "After almost three years of band history, Mammut left the band due to musical and personal reasons. We believe that this decision was for the good of us all and wish him only the best for his future."
Mammut sat out KADAVAR's recent tour dates and was replaced by a stand-in musician who also happens to be an old friend of the band and has now officially been named as KADAVAR's new bassist: Simon Bouteloup.
"For us, Simon Bouteloup was the only replacement imaginable all along," the band said. "We've toured with his ex-band AQUA NEBULA OSCILLATOR in the past and recorded a split record with them. Afterwards, he accompanied our tours on a regular basis. In autumn of 2012 he moved from Paris to Berlin and joined THE OATH. We're happy to have him on board as a permanent member now!"

 The ground-breaking Finnish orchestral rock group APOCALYPTICA performed on a recent episode of the French show "Une Dose 2 Metal" on L'Enorme TV. Check it the footage below.
For APOCALYPTICA's just-released live album "Wagner Reloaded - Live In Leipzig" (BMG), the band teamed with the acclaimed MDR Leipzig Symphony Orchestra. The album's release is perfectly timed since 2013 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of iconic German composer Richard Wagner.
"It's complex to record a live album with an orchestra, because there are so many lines, microphones and there's one stupid drummer, who beats the shit out of the drums and creates so much noise that everything is spoiled afterwards," laughs APOCALYPTICA's cellist Eicca Toppinen while nodding to drummer Mikko Sirén. "It's a challenge, we prepared well in advance, and Sven Helbig, the orchestrator, did a great job in making it run together, it works."
For "Wagner Reloaded - Live In Leipzig", APOCALYPTICA created new compositions based on Wagner's body of work and his life, teaming (with award-winning choreographer and dancer Gregor Seyffert to stage a brilliant and magical, cross-genre event featuring a live concert and theatrical production.

VOLBEAT released a "tour edition" of its latest album, "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies", on November 4. The new version of the Danish/American rock act's fifth studio album contains new bonus tracks and a live DVD. The latter features footage of the group performing at a number of major summer festivals in Europe, including the Download festival in the U.K., Rock Am Ring and Rock'n'Heim in Germany, Hellfest in France and Denmark's Roskilde Festival. "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies" debuted at No. 1 in several countries when it arrived last April, with the disc entering the Billboard album chart at No. 9.
The latest single from the record, "Lola Montez", broke into the Active Rock Top 10 at No. 7.
The song is one of many from the album based on historical or fictional characters from the Old West. Frontman Michael Poulsen told The Pulse Of Radio he wanted to use some of the lesser known figures from the era. "Of course, I was flirting a little around with Wyatt Earp, but the thing is, everybody knows Wyatt Earp," he said. "Do we need another story about Wyatt Earp? I don't know, you know, so I choosed [sic] some other characters, you know, like Black Bart — not everyone have heard of him. Doc Holliday's somebody people know, but there's also a lot of people [that] don't know him. So I wanted to bring up some characters that were not that well known, but who were really interesting."

CORPSESSED's 'Abysmal Thresholds' To Arrive In February
 Dark Descent Records will release "Abysmal Thresholds", the full-length debut from Finland's CORPSESSED, on February 4. "Abysmal Thresholds" is over 47 minutes of death metal the way you've come to expect from this hard-hitting Finnish band. No fluff, no hyperbole. CORPSESSED was spawned from putrescent slime in 2007. Vocalist Niko Matilainen, guitarist Matti Mäkelä and drummer Jussi-Pekka Manner were joined by guitarist Jyri Lustig and (de)composing of morbid death metal tunes began at the rotting houses of Järvenpää delta area. The group's original bass player, Mikko Mäkelä, disappeared in unknown circumstances and was replaced later in 2009 by Mikko Pöllä.
CORPSESSED's first EP, "The Dagger ANd The Chalice", was released on CD by Dark Descent Records in May 2011. The vinyl version released by Me Saco Un Ojo in co-operation with Dark Descent in October 2011. That release was followed up by a two-track, self-titled seven-inch EP in 2012.

EXODUS Rejoined By Guitarist RICK HUNOLT At Slim's Concert (Video)
 San Francisco Bay Area thrashers EXODUS were rejoined by guitarist Rick Hunolt on stage this past Friday, December 20 at Slim's in San Francisco to perform two songs: "The Toxic Waltz" and "Strike Of The Beast". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
In other news, EXODUS has been added to the list of bands who will perform at METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett's first annual horror convention, dubbed Kirk Von Hammett's Fear FestEviL, which will take place February 6-8, 2014 at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, California. Also scheduled to appear are DEATH ANGEL, ORCHID and CARCASS.

With Gary Holt still handling guitar duties for Jeff Hanneman on SLAYER's North American and European tours, EXODUS invited none other than Hunolt to fill in for the band's shows in 2012 and beyond.
Longtime EXODUS fans will recall that Hunolt — the other half of the famed EXODUS "H-Team" who is on every studio recording from 1985 through 2004 and co-wrote some of the band's best-known songs such as "A Lesson In Violence" and "Deliver Us To Evil" — left EXODUS after the band's highly-acclaimed 2004 reunion album, "Tempo Of The Damned". "Murder In The Front Row", the photo book documenting the pinnacle of the Bay Area thrash scene, aptly documents Hunolt's tenure in the band.
Following his departure, Hunolt was replaced by HEATHEN guitarist Lee Altus.
Hunolt first rejoined his former bandmates at a special concert in celebration of Holt and Lisa Perticone's wedding on September 24, 2011 at Avalon in Santa Clara, California. He also performed with them at "Bonded By Baloff: A Decade Of Remembrance", a special concert which marked the 10-year anniversary of former EXODUS singer Paul Baloff's passing. The event took place February 4, 2012 at the Oakland Metro Operahouse in Oakland, California.
EXODUS' latest album, "Exhibit B: The Human Condition", was released in North America on May 18, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records.
The CD sold around 4,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 114 on The Billboard 200 chart.

FEAR FACTORY: Quality Footage Of San Francisco Concert

FEAR FACTORY has just completed touring North America as the support act for MEGADETH. Also appearing on the bill was NONPOINT.
The trek kicked off on November 23 in St. Paul, Minnesota and concluded on December 19 in Reno, Nevada.
Asked whose idea it was to perform FEAR FACTORY's classic classic 1995 sophomore album, "Demanufacture", on the band's Australian tour, Burton C. Bell told The Rockpit: "It was kinda like a joke at first. Last time we were there for 'The Industrialist' on tour, we were playing a lot of tracks from 'Demanufacture', and we just thought, 'Why don't we just play the whole damn record?' and the promoter was, like, 'Oh, that's actually a great idea. We should plan it properly,' and blah blah blah, and just started talking about it. And we thought about it, and it was Australia that embraced FEAR FACTORY wholeheartedly first and so Australia was where we received our first silver and gold records for 'Demanufacture', so we figured that we'd go to Australia."
FEAR FACTORY will also perform "Demanufacture" in its entirety aboard the 2014 edition of the world's biggest heavy metal cruise — 70000 Tons Of Metal — which will sail January 27-31.
FEAR FACTORY's new album, "The Industrialist", sold 9,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 38 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "Mechanize", opened with 10,000 units back in February 2010 to land at No. 72. | 0 | |

DEF-CON-ONE To Release 'II' In February
 DEF-CON-ONE, the British metal band featuring former VENOM and MPIRE OF EVIL drummer Antony "Antton" Lant (brother of VENOM frontman Conrad "Cronos" Lant), will release its sophomore album, "II", on February 18 via Scarlet Records. The follow-up to 2012's "Warface" is described in a press release as "a natural progression" from its predecessor, featuring influences covering a wide range of musical styles, from modern metal to old-school rock and punk.

LACUNA COIL Cancels SHIPROCKED Appearance Due To 'Very Serious Personal Family Matters'
 Italian heavy rockers LACUNA COIL have been forced to cancel their appearance on ShipRocked, the rock music cruise vacation onboard the Norwegian Pearl which will depart from the Port Of Miami and will visit Great Stirrup Cay — a private island in the Bahamas — during the January 26-30, 2014 excursion.
Says the band: "We are truly sorry to announce that we have had to cancel our appearance at the 2014 ShipRocked cruise. We are dealing with some very serious personal family matters at this time which demand our full attention. Sadly, we are unable to travel such a far distance away from our loved ones. JIZZY PEARL To Release 'Crucified' As Solo Album And Not As LOVE/HATE Record
 LOVE/HATE and QUIET RIOT frontman Jizzy Pearl has decided to release his new six-song mini-album "Crucified" as a Jizzy Pearl solo record rather than as a LOVE/HATE effort, because, in his words, dealing with ex-members just isn't "worth the hassle." In another move to avoid confusion, Jizzy has renamed his 2014 U.K. tour JIZZY PEARL'S LOVE/HATE. That way, "people will know who is playing and who isn't," he says. "Why did I change the LOVE/HATE record to a Jizzy Pearl record?" says the singer. "Simply put, because dealing with ex-members isn't worth the hassle.
"I don't want to spend thousands fighting over a band that makes hundreds.
"This isn't QUEENSRŸCHE or GREAT WHITE. We're not talking about a band that makes $12,000 or $20,000 a night. But there are some people out there who still think LOVE/HATE is the 'golden goose.' Some people think that LOVE/HATE sells T-shirts like IRON MAIDEN or MOTÖRHEAD. Some people still think MTV plays videos…
"Unless you've gassed up the van and done the tours like I have, then I guess you don't really know.

Founding LOVE/HATE guitarist Jon E. Love recently threatened to sue Jizzy Pearl over the release of the "Crucified" album.
In a post on his Facebook page, Love wrote: "This is not a LOVE/HATE record. Jizzy has taken it upon himself to release his solo shit and call it LOVE/HATE. None of the original members are on it. How do I know this? Because the idiot insulted me when asking me to perform on it. Any true LOVE/HATE fan will immediately know it's not the real band. Stay tuned — more to follow as I proceed to sue him."
Love is currently recording an album with his band JON E. LOVE & THE HATERS.
LOVE/HATE burst onto the scene in 1990 with the debut album, "Blackout Out In The Red Room", and proceeded to take the U.K. by storm with "Best Album Of The Year" accolades from Kerrang! and Metal Hammer magazines. Playing sold-out shows and opening for SKID ROW, AC/DC and DIO put LOVE/HATE on the map. MTV hits "Why Do You Think They Call It Dope", "She's An Angel" and the band's follow-up album, "Wasted In America", has ensured a loyal following to this day. "Crucified" track listing:

Jizzy Pearl on "Crucified" tracks: "Hanging You Out To Dry": "A song about the infamous Hollywood sign stunt from the viewpoint of the crucifee himself. The vibe is simple, I tried to get back to the start, a bunch of young kids banging out loud musical joy in a little room and the singer in the middle, one microphone, testifying to the world." "Sunny Day": "A love song to my girlfriend, plain and simple. Usually I had to break up with my girlfriends to get a good song out of them, but not this time, thankfully. 'Sunny Day' is old-school LOVE/HATE psychedelia."
"You're Making Me Nervous": "A fictional account of every man's idea of a bad date. The lyrics come straight from the horse's mouth as he watches his Friday night fantasy crash and burn."
"I Don't Want To Be Your Baby": "This is a twist on the traditional power ballad where the guy not only doesn't get the girl, he doesn't want the girl."
"Love Is All": "My LED ZEPPELIN roots come out on this one, all those 'Kashmir' days and nights huddled around the peace pipe. I got to stretch out a bit and do some cool things musically that you can't normally do in a three-minute pop song."

LIE IN RUINS: 'Toward Divine Death' To Arrive In February
 Finnish death metal legion LIE IN RUINS will release its new album, "Toward Divine Death", on February 4 via Dark Descent Records. The follow-up to 2009's "Swallowed By The Void" — released on Spinefarm Records — sees the band make no missteps in delivering a 70-minute opus of pure death metal. Spanning 10 tracks, the new effort displays a much more mature band and vision. While you will hear typical LIE IN RUINS moments on this album, make no mistake, this is a nastier and grittier album that will leave you hoping the band doesn't go five more years before assaulting us with another album. LIE IN RUINS was formed initially at the golden season of death metal in the early '90s, but was buried in the background for several years. In 2002, the beast dug up again from his tomb to spread the seed of evil now when the time was ready. After the first demo, "Monuments", was released, the need for a second guitarist was met. This unholy trinity began working on new material. After the next demo, "Statues", it was time to take the next step, and start spreading the musical propaganda at live. So it was time to get some new members again, and this time LIE IN RUINS grew into five.
Meanwhile, the Spanish label Temple Of Darkness released a mini-cd from LIE IN RUINS, called "Architecture Of The Dead", which was compilation of the "Monuments" and "Statues" demos. Next came the split seven-inch with DEATHEVOKATION, called "Allegiance In Death", published by the Imperium Productions.
In 2009, LIE IN RUINS' drummer decided to leave the band before the recording of the new album. Continuing without him, the group entered the studio and recorded ten desecrating songs for "Swallowed By The Void".
