FEAR FACTORY: Fan-Filmed Video Footage Of Entire Sydney Concert
Fan-filmed video footage of FEAR FACTORY's entire July 5 performance at UNSW Roundhouse in Sydney, Australia can be seen below.
Asked whose idea it was to perform FEAR FACTORY's classic classic 1995 sophomore album, "Demanufacture", on the band's Australian tour, vocalist Burton C. Bell told The Rockpit: "It was kinda like a joke at first. Last time we were there for 'The Industrialist' on tour, we were playing a lot of tracks from 'Demanufacture', and we just thought, 'Why don't we just play the whole damn record?' and the promoter was, like, 'Oh, that's actually a great idea. We should plan it properly,' and blah blah blah, and just started talking about it. And we thought about it, and it was Australia that embraced FEAR FACTORY wholeheartedly first and so Australia was where we received our first silver and gold records for 'Demanufacture', so we figured that we'd go to Australia."
FEAR FACTORY will also perform "Demanufacture" in its entirety aboard the 2014 edition of the world's biggest heavy metal cruise — 70000 Tons Of Metal — which will sail January 27-31.
FEAR FACTORY's new album, "The Industrialist", sold 9,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 38 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "Mechanize", opened with 10,000 units back in February 2010 to land at No. 72. | 0

COLDWORKER Calls It Quits
COLDWORKER — the Örebro, Sweden-based "blasting" death metal band consisting of current and former/current members of such acts as NASUM, RELENTLESS, RUIN and PHOBOS — has called it quits. The group says in a statement: "Everybody in the band doesn't want to do it anymore, so we feel the best thing is to just hang it up and be done with it. There's no bad blood between the members and we remain friends.
"Thanks a bunch to everybody who supported us through the years, buying albums and t-shirts and coming to the shows; you are the best! Big thanks also to Listenable Records, Relapse Records and to André Alvinzi, who was an important part of the early days of the band.
"None of us is quitting music and we'll see you around in other bands.
"Thank you and goodbye."

Video: NAPALM DEATH Singer Joins VOLBEAT On Stage At France's HELLFEST
Mark "Barney" Greenway of British grindcore pioneers NAPALM DEATH joined Danish metal rock 'n' rollers VOLBEAT on stage on June 23 at the Hellfest in Clisson, France to perform the VOLBEAT track "Evelyn". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
In April 2011 interview with Straight.com, VOLBEAT vocalist/guitarist Michael Poulsen spoke about Barney's appearance on the studio version of "Evelyn", which appears on the band's fourth album, "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven".
"Writing a song like 'Evelyn' was my way of showing people that it was not only the '50s elements we were inspired by, but we were actually growing up with a lot of great metal bands," Michael said. "And NAPALM DEATH was one of the first extreme metal bands I was listening to — I was listening to them when I bought my first guitar. So being able to have a singer like Barney from NAPALM DEATH on my record was a real accomplishment. It's great to see that it's actually possible for dreams to come true, in a way."
VOLBEAT will take part in this summer's Monster Energy's Rock Allegiance Tour alongside HIM, ALL THAT REMAINS and AIRBOURNE.
VOLBEAT's fifth studio album, "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies", sold 39,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on April 9 via Universal Republic

DEATH ANGEL Completes Mixing New Album
San Francisco Bay Area metallers DEATH ANGEL have completed mixing the follow-up to 2010's "Relentless Retribution" for an October release via Nuclear Blast Records. The band's seventh CD was tracked at AudioHammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL THAT REMAINS, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER) and DEATH ANGEL guitarist Rob Cavestany handling production duties. The cover artwork is being created by Brent Elliot White (JOB FOR A COWBOY, CARNIFEX, WHITECHAPEL), who also worked on "Relentless Retribution".
Cavestany previously stated about DEATH ANGEL's upcoming album: "'Relentless' turned out the way we wanted, so we we're taking it to the next level with the same team… We had a blast doing the last record [at AudioHammer] and now we know each other better and how well we work together.
"It was our idea all along to go directly into the studio following the end of [DEATH ANGEL's most recent] tour, without taking time off.
"We always take a break after an album's touring cycle ends. You basically have to after spending so much time on the road, traveling and performing constantly. But not this time! This tour [was] the longest one we've ever done and that live energy is in our new songs! The glory and the heartache, it's all there.
"That said, this is some of the heaviest, fastest, most powerful material we've ever created! There's something really dark in it too... music is and always will be our outlet to vent and release the built up pressure that life deals. In the world today, we need it more than ever!!!"
"Relentless Retribution" sold 2,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 10 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. The band's previous album, "Killing Season", opened with around 2,300 units back in March 2008. This number was in line with the performance of its predecessor, "The Art of Dying", which registered a first-week sales tally of around 2,100 back in May 2004.
"Relentless Retribution" was released in the U.S. on September 14, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records.

FLYLEAF: Entire 'Who We Are' EP Available For Streaming
A&M/Octone Records has announced the return of FLYLEAF with the band's new EP, "Who We Are", due on July 9. The extended-play recording features live songs from FLYLEAF's recent tour with new singer Kristen May and includes their new single, "Something Better", with a guest appearance by P.O.D. lead singer Sonny Sandoval. The track was recorded with longtime producer Howard Benson during a break between a busy schedule of touring and writing new material.
According to a press release, "Who We Are" features FLYLEAF's signature and live sound, including hits like "Call You Out", "Fire Fire", "Broken Wings" and "Sorrow", plus the aforementioned "Something Better".
"The live tracks came from our 2013 winter tour with DROWNING POOL," says FLYLEAF in a statement.
"'Something Better' is one of the first songs we wrote with Kristen May. It was an awesome experience writing together! Plus, having Sonny from P.O.D. on this track was really special. We've been fans of theirs for years, and it was an honor to do this collaboration. We think y'all will love it!"
The "Who We Are" EP can now be streamed in its entirety using the SoundCloud widget below (courtesy of RevolverMag.com).
FLYLEAF hits the road on a co-headlining nationwide tour with P.O.D. beginning July 13 in Kenosha, Wisconsin and continues through August 10 in San Diego, California. The band will be offering the sale of limited edition silk-screen prints designed by bass player Pat Seals on the FLYLEAF web site and bundled with the "Who We Are" EP.
Kristen May replaced original vocalist Lacey Sturm after the latter abruptly departed the group in October 2012.
Sturm left the band on the eve of the release of its third album, "New Horizons", which came out on October 30, 2012 and sold 20,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 16 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Sturm issued a statement about her exit from the group she co-founded, saying, "I am very thankful to have recently become a mom to one of the greatest blessings of my life, my son Jack . . . I understand that, for me, living life to the fullest in this season means to step down as the lead singer for FLYLEAF."
The new album follows up 2009's "Memento Mori" and FLYLEAF's self-titled 2005 debut, which have combined to sell more than 1.6 million copies in the U.S.
FLYLEAF is Kristen May (vocals) Sameer Bhattacharya (lead guitar), Jared Hartmann (rhythm guitar), Pat Seals (bass) and James Culpepper (drums). | 0

MOTÖRHEAD Drummer Performs "Ace Of Spades' With MUSTASCH (Video)
MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee joined Swedish rockers MUSTASCH on stage yesterday (Thursday, July 4) at Metaltown festival in Gothenburg, Sweden to perform the MOTÖRHEAD classic "Ace Of Spades". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
MOTÖRHEAD canceled its headlining appearance at this year's Metaltown due to frontman Lemmy Kilmister's recent health struggles.
Dee, who lives in Gothenburg, told GT.se about the cancelation of his hometown concert: "It's so fucking typical, but what are you going to do? You have to put health before everything else."
Lemmy suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel) last month, forcing the band to scrap a handful of dates. The news of Lemmy's latest medical issue followed reports that he was also recently fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems. | 0

Bassist DARIO SEIXAS Quits GREAT WHITE FEATURING JACK RUSSELL
GREAT WHITE FEATURING JACK RUSSELL (formerly JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE) bassist Dario Seixas (pictured below) has released the following statement:
"About a month ago, I decided to quit GREAT WHITE. This was mostly due to differences in business/management views and decisions. After a long talk with Jack, I was convinced into reconsidering my position. Two weeks later, I realized that the reason I quit in the first place was not going to change and it was time to move on.
"I really enjoyed my time on stage with GREAT WHITE and especially the love I received from all the fans. You guys are the best and I look forward to having more fun with you in the future!
"My last show is likely July 13th, so I got about 4 more to go. I will not be going on the tour. Have fun out there and be safe.
"I'll be pursuing new musical endeavors, including some of my own stuff which I'll be posting it soon, so keep an eye out for it!!"
GREAT WHITE FEATURING JACK RUSSELL is not to be confused with the other touring and recording version of GREAT WHITE, which features Mark Kendall, Scott Snyder (bass), Audie Desbrow (drums), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards) and Terry Ilous (lead vocals). | 0

Germany's WACKEN OPEN AIR Festival Focus Of New 3D Documentary
"Wacken 3D - Louder Than Hell", a no-holds-barred exploration of the legendary Wacken Open Air, the biggest heavy metal festival of the world, will shoot in July and August this year. Director Nobert Heitker's feature documentary, shot by producer and director of photography Tomas Erhart in stereoscopic, "true" 3D will give audiences a chance to experience Wacken — the fans, the music, the unique atmosphere — in the most intimate way.
Wacken is a true one-off. Beyond description. Every year, for three days in August, a sleepy farming village in the middle of the Northern German countryside becomes the epicenter of the metal universe. Almost 75,000 metal heads from around the globe invade the Wacken Open Air to pay homage to the greatest bands of the international metal scene.
The first Wacken Open Air in 1990 attracted less than 800 attendees but since then it has grown every year. Now it is the biggest open air festival of its kind. Tickets are sold out within days — long before all of the participating bands are announced.
Much has been written and documented about the festival. But what exactly makes Wacken so special? What gives it its magic — its soul? It is hard to answer these questions in mere words or anecdotes. If you want to understand Wacken you have to experience it.
"Wacken 3D - Louder Than Hell" will allow audiences to do precisely that, taking them right into the thick of it. Norbert Heitker, Tomas Erhart and their team will cover this year's complete Wacken Open Air around the clock, using 18 state-of-the-art 3D cameras. The film will go way beyond the POV of the normal festival attendees. It will take the audience backstage to meet the bands before they perform, watching the faces of thousands of excited fans, feeling the crowd-surfing up close. The cameras will cover through the metal battles and the oompah music of the "Wacken Firefighters." And, of course, an intimate portrait of the festival fans — their stories, their outifits, their tents, and how they party.
"Wacken 3D" will, of course, be filming the pivot of these three days — the humongous stage shows of the greatest metal bands on earth.
Norbert Heitker has many years of experience under his belt, directing music films and commercials. He has won numerous awards and accolades, including two Echos for films with the bands RAMMSTEIN and DIE ÄRZTE.
"Wacken 3D" is produced by Tomas Erhart of Jumpseat 3D Plus Germany, who is also the director of photography, and Stefan Schubert of Wüste Film. The production is backed by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Filmförderung Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein, Filmförderungsanstalt and Deutscher Filmförderfonds.
"Wacken 3D" will be released in Germany in spring of 2014 and distributed by NFP marketing and distribution.
The Wacken Open Air 2013 festival will be held from August 1 to August 3. The team will shoot from July 22 to August 5 (production period).
Wacken Open Air was the subject of the 2006 award-winning documentary "Full Metal Village" from Korean-born, Germany-based director Sung Hyung Cho, who looked at the sharp contrasts and strange connections between sleepy village life in Wacken and the annual long weekend of heavy metal madness. | 0

IRON MAIDEN: New Tour-Diary Video Posted Online
The first in a series of new tour-diary videos from British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN can be seen below.
IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson recently told the Swedish web site Talarforum (Speakers' Forum) that there are plans for the band to enter the studio to record a new album for a tentative 2014 release.
MAIDEN's 15th studio CD, 2010's "The Final Frontier", featured 10 tracks that had an average running time of seven minutes and 40 seconds, with the shortest song, "The Alchemist", clocking in at four minutes and 29 seconds, and the longest, "When The Wild Wind Blows", lasting ten minutes and 59 seconds.
"The Final Frontier" sold 63,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 4.
IRON MAIDEN's previous album, 2006's "A Matter Of Life And Death", opened with 56,000 units to land at No. 9. This was a notable increase from the 40,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, 2003's "Dance of Death" (which debuted at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart), and that of "Brave New World", which moved 38,000 copies in June 2000 to land at No. 39 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"The Final Frontier" was IRON MAIDEN's fourth U.K. No. 1 album. The band previously topped the chart in 1982 with "The Number of the Beast", in 1988 with "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" and in 1992 with "Fear of the Dark".

JORN: 'Cancer Demon' Video Released
"Cancer Demon", the new video from the Norwegian hard rock singer Jorn Lande, can be seen below. The song comes off his new album, "Traveller", which landed at position No. 12 on the official chart in Norway. The CD was released on June 11 in North America and June 14 in Europe via Frontiers Records.
Considered one of the greatest legends in rock, and by many as the best male rock singer of the millennium, Lande never seems to stop producing music, and is back with yet another slab of classic first-division heavy rock. "Traveller" is definitely a suitable title to fit this gifted and creative viking's extreme productivity.
During his almost-30-year-long career, his albums have sold millions. He managed to release close to 40 albums with various bands/projects in the past decades, and "Traveller" is his eighth studio album under the Jorn banner. Some say he has passed his successors by his gift of being versatile, and ability to not get stuck in the political frames of the music business. A true independent "freebird" hammering his legacy in stone as he goes, with a band of grounded and solid craftsmen to back up his hurricane force voice.
This album represents the first product of the pairing of Jorn Lande and the new JORN guitarist Trond Holter (WIG WAM, DREAM POLICE). The result is eleven new songs encompassing a variety of moods and styles, with Lande's voice shining through memorable anthems, backed by wonderful grooves and tightly-executed classic and melodic heavy metal. "This album has all the elements of the Jorn legacy," says Lande. "It is heavy, but still very melodic and experimental, and it really rocks! As usual we haven't spent much time analyzing the material before recording it, this is an album about life, doom and death reflecting on what I know and thoughts about what I don't."
"Traveller" track listing:
01. Overload
02. Cancer Demon
03. Traveller
04. Window Maker
05. Make Your Engine Scream
06. Legend Man
07. Carry The Black
08. Rev On
09. Monsoon
10. The Man Who Was King
JORN is:
Jorn Lande: Vocals
Willy Bendiksen: Drums
Trond Holter: Guitar

MANOWAR: More 'The Lord Of Steel Live' Audio Samples Available
MANOWAR will release highlights of its "The Lord Of Steel World Tour" on a live EP, featuring performances from the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Italy, Russia and Sweden.
"From the first show in Zaragoza/Spain to the last show in Yekaterinburg/Russia, 'The Lord Of Steel' world tour was a terrific experience," said MANOWAR bassist Joey DeMaio. "Performing new songs for the first time in front of your audience is the ultimate test of the power of the songs to connect to the only people that matter. Our fans were totally brutalized and went wild as you will hear on this new EP. 'The Lord Of Steel Live' is a thank you to our amazing fans; it will forever immortalize this tour and those who attended it."
The album was mixed and mastered at MANOWAR's own studios Hell and Haus Wahnfried by Joey DeMaio personally with longtime MANOWAR engineer Dirk Kloiber.
"The Lord Of Steel Live" will be released digitally as an iTunes exclusive worldwide on July 9, and on CD in retail and through TheKingdomOfSteel.com on August 16.
Featured tracks:
01. El Gringo
02. Expendable
03. Hail, Kill And Die
04. Manowarriors
05. The Lord Of Steel
06. Thunder In The Sky
Audio samples of "Thunder In The Sky" and "The Lord Of Steel" can be streamed below.
"The Lord Of Steel" is now available in stores and on iTunes and was first celebrated live during Leg 1 of "The Lord Of Steel World Tour" in Spain, France, Holland, Germany, Czech Republic and Russia.
Asked why MANOWAR chose to release "The Lord Of Steel" in digital format several months before the retail release, DeMaio told Rockpages.gr: "MANOWAR have always worked with the latest technology. Thankfully, our fans have more options than ever to choose how they get their music and when.
"We are proud to be able to give our fans multiple choices: We have released a limited edition of the album in collaboration with Metal Hammer U.K., with its own artwork and special mixes as a first look at what is to come. For those who prefer digital content and wish this limited version, they have the option of getting it as download album.
"The worldwide retail release [is] available with different versions of the songs and a totally different mix and master as CD and limited vinyl, both with spectacular new art by Ken Kelly. And, of course, this version [is] available as digital album as well. The fans can decide which options and configurations they prefer."
Regarding the difference between MANOWAR's previous studio album, "Gods Of War", and "The Lord Of Steel", DeMaio said: "All of our albums are different from one another, unlike other groups who constantly try to keep to a formula.
"After the massive production of 'Gods Of War', our vision this time was a stripped down, brutally raw, unique sound; 'lean and mean,’ so to speak.
"We had started working on material prior Donnie [Hamzik, drums] return to the band.
"MANOWAR are a unit. Every band member brings in a unique contribution, so it was only logical for us to start over and include Donnie from the beginning of the creative process.
"Some people will say its a shame to abandon something you have invested a lot of time and energy in, but that's the way we work. It has to feel right for all of us."

NIGHTWISH Singer's REVAMP: Third 'Wild Card' Trailer Available
Former AFTER FOREVER frontwoman and current NIGHTWISH touring singer Floor Jansen will release the second album from her REVAMP project, "Wild Card", in Europe on August 23 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded at SandLane Studio in Rijen, The Netherlands with Joost van den Broek (ex-AFTER FOREVER) and will feature guest choir parts by Marcela Bovio (STREAM OF PASSION) and Daniël de Jongh (TEXTURES).
"Wild Card" track listing:
01. The Anatomy Of A Nervous Breakdown: On The Sideline
02. The Anatomy Of A Nervous Breakdown: The Limbic System
03. Wild Card
04. Precibus
05. Nothing
06. The Anatomy Of A Nervous Breakdown: Neurasthenia
07. Distorted Lullabies
08. Amendatory
09. I Can Become
10. Misery's No Crime
11. Wolf and Dog
12. Sins (bonus track)
The CD features additional guest appearances by Mark Jansen (EPICA), Johan van Stratum (STREAM OF PASSION) and Devin Townsend.
The third trailer for "Wild Card" in which Floor offers more information on the album's cover artwork and songwriting process can be seen below.
The opening track, "The Anatomy Of A Nervous Breakdown: On The Sideline", will be released as a digital iTunes single on July 19.
Regarding the album title, Jansen states: "This album became the most aggressive album I've ever made and in the lyrics I tell a lot about my personal experiences of the last years. This resulted into some heavy stories and some open-hearted 'screams' I needed out of my system. It matches the violence of the music in a great way; we wrote as a great team! But not one sentence or word can really cover the contents of this album. Its variety in all its ingredients makes it almost impossible.
"A wild card is an unpredictable and unforeseeable factor. You don't know what you're getting, or when. That's this album! It's 100% REVAMP and it's your wild card!"
The "Wild Card" cover artwork was created by Richard Stark of NI Concept And Design. Jansen explains: "I am the queen of hearts on it, who is a wild card herself. You see a 'nice' and a 'nasty' queen. The nasty one has a cracked lip, cuts in her face and a bleeding heart in her hand. The other queen looks nice even though queens of hearts never truly are...
"Again, what is it you're going to get? In that respect it visualizes the music, from aggressive and nasty to melodic and pretty. This theme has been important to me personally throughout my career and also in this album I played with it to the max. I used my voice in so many different ways now! The music invited me to do this.
"I am super proud of the amazing guitar riffs, the versatile and groovy but mega tight drums and the keyboard sounds and arrangements that bring something new to the table.
"We hope you like our wild card!"
REVAMP recently announced the addition of bassist Henk Vonk to the group's ranks. He replaces Jaap Melman, who left REVAMP before the band entered the studio to begin recording its second album. The CD was eventually completed with the help of STREAM OF PASSION bassist Johan van Stratum, who filled in on short notice and "did an amazing job to record and edit the bass parts," according to a press release.
Floor previously stated about the making of "Wild Card": "Never before in my career I faced a situation like the one we were in with this album. It was a huge challenge because of several reasons. My sickness caused a major break between the first album and tours, plus the writing of the first ideas for the second album and the actual finalization of those songs and the album. And right at the moment we started to pick everything back up after I was sick, I joined NIGHTWISH. Like a winter and a summer storm, they bring unexpected things, some nasty ones and some amazingly wonderful!
"Also the recording of this album was unlike any I did before because I was on tour with NIGHTWISH most of the time. Guided by Joost van den Broek, the talented musicians of REVAMP recorded all the instruments, and when I came back to The Netherlands, I stepped into the studio to find a rough diamond. A shiny dark crystal: ready for my vocals. That was magical! The singing went smoother than ever before. The lyrics are like a roadmap through our storms and through my personal detours and horrors.
"With pride we can announce our partner in crime from the first album will again join forces with us! Metal and rock giant Nuclear Blast will again make sure REVAMP's new album reaches YOUR music collection wherever you are on this metal-loving planet!!!
"Nuclear Blast knows about storms and their metal heart beats like ours. I am very exited they will release this album! The team is so good and with such great people I have no doubts our cooperation will again be fantastic."
REVAMP's self-titled debut album was released in Europe on May 28, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Jansen made her live debut as the frontwoman of NIGHTWISH on October 1, 2012 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington.
Jansen handled lead-vocal duties on NIGHTWISH's recent North American, South American, Australian and U.K. tours after the group parted ways with Anette Olzon at the end of September 2012.

JASON NEWSTED On The METALLICA Years - "No One Could Ever Replace CLIFF BURTON And I Knew That Going In"
NEWSTED frontman Jason Newsted (ex-METALLICA) is featured in a new interview with John Parks at Legendary Rock Interviews. An excerpt from their chat is available below:
LRI: You’ve been witness to other bands having issues getting along and of course over the decades there have been moments with Metallica not getting along but have you and your band mates in Newsted found a place where you’re all pretty copacetic and having a good time?
Jason: "I could have put together a supergroup, I could have called up, I think anybody I wanted to or convinced just about any player to get with me on this project and you probably could get behind me on that. There’s not many people who would say no, so when it came time to do this I had to find people that I get along with first and foremost who are my friends and my bros first. That’s because there are a lot of really talented cats who can play, but not everybody’s cool so I had to find people who were cool first and then once we were able to get it together and get along then we put on the instruments and made it rock and roll. That’s how it has to be and I learned that over the years like you said."
LRI: Has it ever occurred to you how rare or special your success of plugging into Metallica was? I love Jake E Lee more than most players but even Jake wasn’t able to plug into OZZYwith the relative ease that you did in terms of fan acceptance in Metallica after Cliff Burton died.
Jason: "Of course. But it did take a couple years for me to earn it from the people originally after Cliff passed. I get it. I was a bigger fan of Cliff than anybody on the fucking planet. To be put into his place like that…..the only way I can describe it to you is that his fate brought about my destiny and that’s a crazy thing. For people to accept that is even crazier, to be able to accept that while grieving, to accept that someone else is going to be standing there and it’s not Cliff is amazing. Especially when I think about the fact that I was mad that he wasn’t around (laughs) so I can only imagine what other people felt. I went through a couple of years of dealing with the fans but once they accepted me it was probably twice as lovingly or heartily as they would have otherwise because they realized I could put up with or stand up to anything and I took all that and still stood there proudly. I think that meant a lot to people. It was not an easy task but then again, no one could ever replace Cliff and I knew that going in. He did his thing, I did my thing and now Robert’s doing his thing and it’s all good."

SLIPKNOT: Quality Fan-Filmed Footage Of ROSKILDE Performance
Quality fan-filmed video footage of SLIPKNOT's July 4 perforance at the Roskilde Festival in Roskilde, Denmark can be seen below.
For a long time, SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor seemed the most hesitant to get back into the studio and make a new album following the 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray. But with three years having passed since Gray's death, and with Taylor making three albums with STONE SOUR since then, the singer told The Pulse Of Radio that he thinks 2014 will finally be the year of the KNOT. "I know everybody is pretty keen on getting together and seeing what happens next year, so I mean, if it takes us a year to write an album, so be it," he said. "The main goal is to just get us in the room and just see what happens, you know. If we can get past that first day, I think it'll come together. Now that we're all kind of in better places in our lives and whatnot, it's making it a little easier to be excited about it again. It's just starting to feel like it's time."
SLIPKNOT has performed live over the past two years but has not recorded a new album since 2008's "All Hope Is Gone".
SLIPKNOT mastermind/percussionist M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan spoke with Kerrang! magazine about the band's continued delay in recording a new studio CD. The SLIPKNOT co-founder explained: "We haven't written an album in five years because we wrote one, we toured it for two years, and Paul died, and it's been three years. What do you want from me? Nothing. When I come back, when we come back, it will be time, you will understand, we will understand, and it will be right. We'll be the first band that could be off for five years and come back like we never were gone. So that's what it's all about."
