BLACK LABEL SOCIETY To Release \'The Song Remains Not The Same\' In May
 BLACK LABEL SOCIETY will release "The Song Remains Not The Same", on May 3 via Entertainment One Music. The offering features unplugged versions of material from BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's latest album, "Order Of The Black", as well as additional material recorded during the "Order Of The Black" sessions. "The Song Remains Not The Same" was conceived, created and compiled by BLS mainman Zakk Wylde himself and the title is, of course, a nod to one of Wylde's favorite bands, LED ZEPPELIN.
In other BLACK LABEL SOCIETY news, the next single from "Order Of The Black", "Darkest Days" impacts at radio on March 21. The track showcases Wylde's softer side with soulful lyrics, a hauntingly beautiful melody and captivating piano played by the guitar icon himself. An alternate version of the song featuring country superstar John Rich will appear on "The Song Remains Not The Same".

After wrapping up a series of sold-out dates in Europe, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY will return to North America in early May to headline Fuse's Uranium Tour 2011 presented by Mistress Juliya.
Cherry Lane Music has set a March 14 release date for "Order Of The Black" BLACK LABEL SOCIETY featuring artist-approved transcriptions of all 13 songs from the band's searing 2010 CD. It also includes a great intro/interview with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY mainman Zakk Wylde.

"Order Of The Black" sold around 33,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 4.
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's previous album, "Shot to Hell", opened with 32,000 units to land at No. 21. This was less than the 45,000 copies shifted by BLS's "Mafia" (Artemis) back in March 2005 to debut at No. 15.
"Order Of The Black" was released in North America in August 2010 via E1 Music. The CD featured four unique covers designed by Zakk Wylde himself — one for each territory: North America, Europe, Asia and Australia/New Zealand.

POISONBLACK: \'Drive\' Artwork, Release Date, Track Listing Revealed
 POISONBLACK — the Finnish band featuring former SENTENCED frontman Ville Laihiala — will release its fifth album, now titled "Drive" (working title was "Lead & Roll Vol. 5"), in Scandinavia on April 27 via Hype Records. The CD was recorded at Antfarm Studio in Århus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, MOONSPELL, DARK TRANQUILLITY, GOREFEST).

Ex-IRON MAIDEN Singer PAUL DI\'ANNO Jailed For Falsely Claiming Benefits
 According to the Daily Mail, former IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno (real name: Paul Andrews) was jailed today after he falsely collected U.K. government benefits by claiming he suffered nerve damage to his back that prevented him from working.
Di'Anno, 52, was sentenced to nine months for swindling £45,000 (approximately $72,000) in benefits. He was told he would serve at least four and a half months of the sentence behind bars before being released on conditional bail.
Jane Miller QC, sentencing at Salisbury Crown Court today (Friday, March 11), said Di'Anno's public image had nothing to do with the case and he would be treated like anybody else. She said, "Your public persona is not relevant. Your greed has cost this country a lot of money. The claims were for a long time and for a large cost. It must be a custodial sentence.
"In 2002 you started claiming benefits when it was quite clear you were already working.
"It took many years to track you down, in 2007 you performed at 69 venues, in 2006 you performed 67 times.
"I do not accept you only got expenses. I give you credit for your guilty pleas and reduce the sentence from the guideline 12 months to that of nine months."
D'Anno was reportedly busted when investigators at Department Of Work And Pensions (DWP) received an anonymous tip that he was still singing. They then found videos and pictures on YouTube and the rocker's own web site of Di'Anno "energetically leaping around on stage, singing to fans around the world."
Di'Anno completed his first North American tour in early 2010, 17 years after he was deported following a prison term for guns and drug offenses.
"In 1991 I did a couple of stints in jail for guns and drugs," Di'Anno explained in a 2010 interview. "I was stupid. But after I'd done my stretch they still treated me like a criminal. And I was — but I wasn't that bad. So I didn't feel good about America. The government, not the people.
"Prison was tough, but I'm tougher. I was nobody's bitch, put it that way. You've got to do it; otherwise people will walk all over you."

TOMBS Completes Work On New Album
 Brooklyn, New York trio TOMBS has completed work on its brand new album, "Path Of Totality", for a June 7 North American release via Relapse Records. The follow-up to "Winter Hours" was recorded at Elmwood Recording studios in Dallas, Texas with engineer John Congleton (BARONESS, EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, BLACK MOUNTAIN, ST. VINCENT). It will be made available on CD, 2xLP, and digitally and features artwork from Thomas Hooper of Hoopers Electric.
In other news, TOMBS has announced three-weeks of U.S. tour dates surrounding the band's appearance at the South By Southwest festival. The band will tour down to Texas with CASTEVET and return through the South and East Coast with WORMROT.
TOMBS recently released a 14-songs collection of early material, tracks from split releases, and previously unreleased demos. Titled "Fear Is The Weapon", the collection is strictly limited to a one-time pressing of 1,000 copies and is available exclusively through Relapse mailorder.

WEEDEATER: Entire New Album Available For Streaming
 After over two incredibly action/drama/injury/tour-soaked years of constant insanity, North Carolina sludge crusaders WEEDEATER have completed their long-delayed, yet more anticipated-than-ever, fourth full-length release. The intoxicating ten-track brutalizer, dubbed "Jason... The Dragon", has been scheduled for worldwide release on March 15 via Southern Lord Recordings.

After over a year of literally crippling injuries to all three of WEEDEATER's members hitting the headlines, including infamous classics like "Dixie Dave blew off part of his foot with a shotgun," or "Keko tore his meniscus this week," and "Shep broke his goddamn pinkie on tour" or even "Dixie nearly died in his ninja-scuba assassin Halloween costume" and more, the band still forged on through these blows for multiple tours — several regional and national headlining tours, as well as supporting DOWN and the MELVINS — to finally complete this record. Although delayed by eight months, the haggard trio infiltrated Steve Albini's Electrical Audio Studio in Chicago this past September to pound out "Jason... The Dragon".
As with their Southern Lord debut, "God Luck And Good Speed", the "Jason..." album was mastered by the legendary John Golden at Golden Studios in southern California, unearthing the true grit that this band dumps forth. With no argument to be had, "Jason..." is by far WEEDEATER's most varied and organic recording to date, taking their caustic, chest-collapsing, resin-coated ultrasludge to new otherworldly new realms of delirium just by taking it all closer to home, stripping their tonal onslaught down to acoustic bass at times, perfectly infusing a bit of banjo and piano, and even utilizing some new vocal tactics. Diehards fear not; this IS still WEEDEATER. It's just WEEDEATER at their finest hour... yet.

CAVALERA CONSPIRACY: Snippet Of BLACK FLAG Cover Available For Streaming
 CAVALERA CONSPIRACY — the project featuring former SEPULTURA members Max (guitar, vocals) and Igor Cavalera (drums) — will release its sophomore album, "Blunt Force Trauma", on March 28 not only as a standard CD but also as an "awesome" CD/DVD/LP package.
"Blunt Force Trauma" was once again tracked with Logan Mader (ex-MACHINE HEAD/SOULFLY guitarist), who co-produced the LP with Max. Logan also mixed the follow-up to the band's debut album, "Inflikted", which has sold less than 45,000 copies in the United States since its March 2008 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The brothers Cavalera co-founded SEPULTURA, the Brazilian metal band that redefined and established the genre outside of the U.S. and Europe. After Max exited the band, there was a rift between himself and his brother, one that was eventually repaired through the redemptive power of music. Some time had passed and Max and Igor were unable to resist the musical pull in their magnetic fields and their musical collaboration was renewed. The duo are back for round two with CAVALERA CONSPIRACY.
CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's lineup is filled out by guitarist Marc Rizzo, who plays with Max in SOULFLY, and bassist Johnny Chow.

In an interview with Triple J's "The Racket", Max Cavalera stated about the sophomore album from CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, "We recorded 15 songs, 13 being originals for the album, and then we did a BLACK SABBATH cover, 'Electric Funeral', that's gonna come out on a Metal Hammer compilation in Europe. And we did a BLACK FLAG cover, a song called 'Six Pack'. We also had a collaboration with Roger [Miret] from AGNOSTIC FRONT — he sings on a song called 'Lynch Mob' that we did together in the studio in L.A.; he flew to L.A. to do this collaboration. I was really proud because, to me, Roger is like the godfather of New York hardcore; AGNOSTIC FRONT is one of the pioneer bands of the whole New York hardcore scene, so it was like recording with a legend of hardcore. The CAVALERA album is really intense; that's all I can say about it. It makes the first album sound like pop music."
Regarding the songwriting and recording process for the new CAVALERA CONSPIRACY album, Max said, "I wrote a lot of the stuff and I sent it to Brazil to [Igor] in the form of a CD — like four tracks of the riffs — so that he would be familiarized with the songs by the time I got to the studio. And then I brought another CD with me, which was, like, newer songs I had just got done [writing] for the album. And everything else we did in the studio together — me and him there on the spot. I told him the idea of making a very intense album with some songs being only a minute and a half, so it's a cross [between] MINOR THREAT and SLAYER and CAVALERA CONSPIRACY. So the idea was really cool — Igor really liked that — and from that point on, the album just grew and song after song, every day a new song came in. And I'm really happy with it. I think people are gonna be blown away when they hear it. I think it's a pretty cool album."

THE CULT Back In The Studio
 On the back of the capsule releases and unprecedented demand from THE CULT faithful, the band has announced that it is back in the studio with producer Chris Goss (QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, MASTERS OF REALITY) at the controls once again. An early fall release is expected.
"I feel we have reached our zenith in terms of our writing and performing skills," singer Ian Astbury said. "We intend to deliver on all levels."
THE CULT's "Capsule 2: New Blood Deep Cuts" featured new songs "Embers" and "Until The Light Takes Us", live recordings of some of the band's huge hits and an intimate look into THE CULT's rehearsal space, with a never-before-seen warm-up performance of "Black Angel".

ANVIL: New Song Available For Download
 "Juggernaut Of Justice", a brand new song from Canadian heavy metal legends ANVIL, is available for download as part of The End Records' spring 2011 sampler at this location.
"Juggernaut Of Justice" is the title track of ANVIL's new album, due on May 10 via The End Records. The CD was recorded at Dave Grohl's (NIRVANA, FOO FIGHTERS) Studio 606 in Northridge, California with famed producer Bob Marlette (BLACK SABBATH, AIRBOURNE, FILTER, ATREYU, ALICE COOPER). Prior to the arrival of the new album, The End will release the definitive ANVIL anthology. The collection will be comprised of classics old and new, with some surprises, and will showcase the band's entire career spanning back to 1978.
Commented ANVIL singer/guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow: "I must say that this is by far the best ANVIL ever. PAUL STANLEY Says There Will Be No Reunion Of KISS\' Original Lineup
 According to PressTelegram.com, KISS singer/guitarist Paul Stanley told CNN that there is no possibility of a reunion of the four original KISS members. "The word that comes up is 'closure.' We had a good time that deteriorated over time. When we did the farewell tour I realized I didn't want to say farewell to KISS, I wanted to say farewell to two of the members."
KISS previously announced plans to enter the studio in March to begin recording its new studio album for a late 2011 release. Stanley will once again produce the new effort after things went so smoothly on 2009's "Sonic Boom". "Paul knows more what a KISS record should sound like than anybody, to be honest with you, so he is going to lead the charge and produce it again and we are all really excited about it," KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer said.
"Sonic Boom" sold 108,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart. This marked the band's highest-charting LP ever.

BLACK \'N BLUE: New Album Details Revealed
 Frontiers Records will release of the new album from Portland-based rockers BLACK 'N BLUE on May 13 in Europe and May 17 in North America.
"Hell Yeah!" is a proud comeback statement for a band that wrote the pages of hard rock history in the '80s. BLACK 'N BLUE released four successful and critically acclaimed albums through Geffen Records: their self-titled debut (1984), "Without Love" (1985), "Nasty Nasty" (1986), and "In Heat" (1987), with the latter two albums produced by the legendary Gene Simmons of KISS. Catalogue sales in the U.S. were in excess of one million units and the band's original guitar player Tommy Thayer went on to replace Ace Frehley in the current KISS lineup.
BLACK 'N BLUE reunited for the first time in 2003 under the initiative of singer Jaime St. James, when he began writing tracks for a new album along with original member, Jef "Woop" Warner. The process came to a halt when St. James joined WARRANT as their new lead vocalist in February of 2004. In recent years, Jaime has been releasing records and touring the world with WARRANT.
In late 2008, plans to get back into the studio and finish the "Hell Yeah!" album were underway, as well as festival appearances and other touring. "The band's lineup is all original except Shawn Sonnenschein," says St. James, "but he has been in the band now for about eight years. Still the new guy....Jeez!"
"Hell Yeah!" goes back to the roots of the "classic" BLACK 'N BLUE sound, mixing tight and hard-rocking songs with a sleazy attitude. "This new album is a real thrill for us and all of the BLACK 'N BLUE fans," says St. James. "Our last studio recording was in 1988 so it's a big deal. This is a classic BLACK 'N BLUE-sounding CD and could be described as a cross between all our previous records. It is heavy for the most part, but I like to think it reminds me of our first album. That's why we brought back the original logo. We just modernized it."
BLACK 'N BLUE will make a special live appearance at the M3 Rock Festival at the Merryweather Post Pavilion in Columbus Maryland on May 14.

HACKNEYED Signs With LIFEFORCE RECORDS
 After releasing two albums on the Nuclear Blast label, German death metal lunatics HACKNEYED have inked a new deal with Lifeforce Records. The band is currently in the studio working on its third album for an August release.
Commented the band: "We are very psyched and happy about our new partnership with Lifeforce Records — a label with a great reputation, history and a very nice roster, we are proud to be part of now. We are very happy to be part of such great family now."
Added Lifeforce Records in a statement: "We at Lifeforce Records are very proud and excited to announce the signing of HACKNEYED to our roster, a band we are watching since their first steps and we can easily consider as one of the most fresh and promising death metal bands out there."

ORIGIN Taps SKINLESS Vocalist
 American technical death metal innovators ORIGIN have announced the addition of vocalist Jason Keyser (SKINLESS, MUCOPUS) to the group's ranks.
Keyser will make his live debut with ORIGIN as part of the upcoming North American tour with HATE ETERNAL, VITAL REMAINS and ABYSMAL DAWN. The trek is scheduled to kick off on June 15 at Emo's in Austin, Texas.
ORIGIN last fall inked a worldwide recording contract with Nuclear Blast Records. The band, which is responsible for such genre-defining classics as "Informis Infinitas", "Inhumanitas" (2002) and "Antithesis" (2008), entered Chapman Recording Studios in Lenexa, Kansas in November with longtime engineer Robert Rebeck to record its Nuclear Blast debut. Rebeck's work can be heard on ORIGIN's "Antithesis" and "Echoes Of Decimation" (2005) albums in addition to the "A Coming Into Existence" demo (1998). Ryan Caddell, who directed and filmed the video clip for "Portal" and the bonus video on "Echoes Of Decimation", joined the guys in the studio once again to document the creative process leading up to the creation of ORIGIN's fifth album plus capture all the behind-the-scenes mayhem.

KITTIE Completes Writing \'Most Pissed-Off-Sounding Record We Have Ever Had\'
 Canadian all-girl metal band KITTIE has completed work on the material for its sixth album, tentatively due before the end of the year. The band writes on its Facebook page, "Pretty sure we're done writing for the new album! Fairly positive this is the most pissed-off-sounding record we have ever had!"
In other news, KITTIE has posted a performance video for the song "My Plague". Check it out below. The track comes off the band's latest album, "In The Black", which sold around 3,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 132 on The Billboard 200 chart.
KITTIE's previous CD, "Funeral for Yesterday", opened with 9,000 units back in February 2007 to land at No. 101.
"In The Black" was made available in Europe on October 23, 2009 via Germany's Massacre Records.
KITTIE last year took part in the Thrash And Burn tour alongside ASKING ALEXANDRIA, BORN OF OSIRIS, STICK TO YOUR GUNS, IMPENDING DOOM, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD (first half), EVERGREEN TERRACE (second half), GREELEY ESTATES, PERIPHERY, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE and CHELSEA GRIN.

RATT STEPHEN PEARCY Laying Down Vocals To New Solo Music
 According to a posting on his Facebook page, RATT singer Stephen Pearcy is "finally going to lay down lead vocals for the new solo music in a few days."
In addition to his solo work, Pearcy is focusing on running his record label, Top Fuel Records, as well as launching BATTERING RAMM, a group in which he plays guitar and whose music he has described as "way more aggressive than anything I've done in the past."
Pearcy recently recorded a new version of RATT's '80s hit "Wanted Man" for "Big John's Rock N Lock", the new show featuring world-famous rock and roll bodyguard "Big" John Murray, celebrity reality star of VH1's "Rock Of Love".
Pearcy posted a message on Twitter last week stating that RATT will remain inactive for the remainder of 2011 while he pursues other projects, including the release of a new solo album. He said, "RATT with me involved will not be active [in] 2011, maybe longer. No new record, tour, or life with me until things are back on track! Until then, M.I.A."
"Infestation", the first studio record in 11 years from RATT, sold around 14,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 30 on the Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on April 20, 2010 via Loud & Proud. | 0 | |

CHROME DIVISION - \'3rd Round Knockout\' Track List und Release Date enthüllt!
 Die norwegischen Doomsday Rock n Roller CHROME DIVISION um den berüchtigten DIMMU BORGIR-Fronter Shagrath (hier Gitarre), haben die Arbeiten an ihrem neuen Album mit dem Titel "3rd Round Knockout" abgeschlossen und jetzt nach dem Cover Artwork auch die Track List und das Release Date enthüllt.
Des Weiteren wird das neue Album die erste gemeinsamen Aufnahmen mit Sänger Shady Blue (besser bekannt als Athera von SUSPERIA) beinhalten, der 2009 Eddie Guz ersetzte. AMON AMARTH - neuer Song \'For Victory or Death\' im Stream!
 AMON AMARTH machen sich bereit, "Surtur Rising", das mittlerweile achte Studioalbum in ihrer verehrten Viking Death Metal-Ruhmeshalle, auf die Menschheit loszulassen. Nach Surtur, dem Anführer der Feuergiganten von Muspelheim ("flame land") und dem ältesten Wesen in den neun Welten der nordischen Mythologie, benannt, enthält die Scheibe zehn sich stetig steigernde Kampfeshymnen, die zum Schwingen der Schwerter nur so einladen.

A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH Signs With SPV

PEGAZUS: More \'In Metal We Trust\' Audio Samples Available
 Audio samples of the new songs "Ghost Rider" and "We Live To Rock" from Australian metallers PEGAZUS are available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The tracks come off the group's first studio album in nine years, "In Metal We Trust", which will be released on April 15 through Black Leather Records (with distribution from Twilight Vertrieb). According to a press release, the CD contains "11 brand new classic heavy metal songs with original singer Justin Fleming back on vocals! As a tribute to the great guitarists of the '80s, PEGAZUS has invited Ross The Boss (MANOWAR, ROSS THE BOSS, THE DICTATORS), Jeff Watson (NIGHT RANGER, MOTHER'S ARMY) and David Shankle (MANOWAR, DSG) to contribute a solo to the song "Old Skool Metal Dayz".

NIGHTRAGE To Enter Studio In June
 Multi-national thrashers NIGHTRAGE have completed work on 15 songs during the pre-production phase for their as-yet-untitled fifth album, which the band plans to start recording in June.
Commented guitarist/mainman Marios Iliopoulos: "This time we have chosen a different approach in the recording process. All drums, bass, and guitars will be recorded at Zero Gravity Studios in Athens, Greece. Some of you might remember, this location was the set for our latest video 'Wearing A Martyr's Crown'.
"On this record we want to break up the monotony of the typical Scandinavian weather/scenery and head to one of the most beautiful countries this band has ever played. So once again, Greece is our destination!
"Antony [Hämäläinen, vocals] will head into Arcane Digital Recording (located in sunny Chandler, Arizona USA) with our good friend Ryan Butler (LANDMINE MARATHON, MISERY INDEX, PHOBIA, EXHUMED) for the vocal recordings. Another first for the band, trying out an American studio will be an interesting change. But for those of you who know Ryan's work, you can expect the result to be old school and punishing.
"Of course, our album would not be complete without the help from our longtime producer Fredrik Nordström (DIMMU BORGIR, OPETH, IN FLAMES, THE HAUNTED, EXHUMATION, FIREWIND), who will drum edit, reamp, mix and master the album in Studio Fredman. We trust our longtime friend Fredrik will do an amazing job once again. He's been stunned by the quality of our new songs and is looking forward to working with us again.
"We also have some very important guest musicians contributing to the album as well."
NIGHTRAGE's new album will be released via Lifeforce Records in Europe and North America (release dates to be revealed soon). Floga Records from Greece will make the effort available on limited-edition vinyl.

ANUBIS GATE Signs With NIGHTMARE RECORDS
 Denmark's ANUBIS GATE has inked a deal with Nightmare Records. The band has also parted ways with singer Jacob Hansen replaced him with Henrik Fevre.
Commented the group: "Nightmare Records is a label that we have had our eyes on for some time, but due to contractual obligations with our old label we haven't been able to join them before now. Needless to say, we are very excited about signing with Nightmare who we feel is the perfect home for our music. With a record label that really loves music (and those are few and far in-between) the future for ANUBIS GATE looks brighter than ever."
On the topic of the singer switch, ANUBIS GATE said, "With Jacob's ever-more-demanding schedule as a first-class producer, Jacob found it hard to have the time and keep his heart in the band. We fully respect his decision and reasons to leave and want to thank Jacob for being with us for an amazing couple of albums. We are still very good friends and Jacob is still involved in shaping the new album in his capacity as the best producer in metal. We wish Jacob nothing but the best in his future career."
"ANUBIS GATE has always been blessed with great singers. The decision to have Henrik take over vocal duties is a natural one for us. Henrik is the one that for a big part shaped the vocal melodies and lyrics of ANUBIS GATE and when Torben had to bow out of the gigs we did in support of 'A Perfect Forever' it was Henrik who sang those gigs. Henrik has also had several songs on our albums where he performed lead vocals. Most notably 'Take Me Home' on the 'Andromeda Unchained' album. So we knew beforehand it would work out great, which it certainly has."
President and founder of Nightmare Records Lance King had the following to say about working with ANUBIS GATE: "Being friends with Jacob Hansen because of our work together with PYRAMAZE and many other bands he's produced that are signed with Nightmare, my introduction to ANUBIS GATE was with him on vocals. BAD BRAINS Begins Work On New Album
 The iconic punk band BAD BRAINS will make an appearance for the first time in the band's career at South By Southwest (SXSW) 2011 at Van's Showcase at Emo's Main Room on March 16. Bassist Darryl Jenifer comments on the forthcoming experience: "There should be a SXSW in every city, every day. Austin is a great music town with positive vibes."
The band is also pleased to announce that it has recently been holed up in New York with all original members working on new material for a 2011 release.
Nothing is conventional with BAD BRAINS, nor is the writing process. So, the band is jamming and reaching for something epic and different. "Stand by for the 'realest' we have ever written," continues Jennifer. The album is said to be channeling progressive elements and Megaforce expects the CD to be released in late summer.
Considered to be the "holy grail" of punk rock, BAD BRAINS is one of the definitive American punk groups who garner the same respect as SEX PISTOLS, BLACK FLAG, THE RAMONES and THE CLASH.
Produced by longtime fan Adam Yauch (of the BEASTIE BOYS), the band's last LP, "Build A Nation", was a return to form for the band that helped define American punk and hardcore music. It featured all the original members of the group: HR, Darryl Jenifer, Dr. Know and Earl Hudson.
