BLEED: Video Released
 "Bleed", the new video from the Dutch metalcore act BLEED, can be viewed below. The clip was produced and directed by Dave Hazeleger and it "showcases the band at its best — energetic and aggresive," according to a press release.
Says singer Thomas: "Nowadays, metalcore seems to be all about posing. The music is weak and video's are huge MTV popcorn productions. We wanted to take the genre back to its core: A clash of metal and hardcore that makes you want to kick people in the face."
BLEED is based in Amsterdam and consists of former members of underground favorites NECROLOGY, STANDARD, CARDINAL and MINDFIELDS. The group's recently released promo has received critical acclaim and is available for streaming in its entirety on the band's MySpace page.  | 0 |  |

UNEARTH\'s \'Grave Of Opportunity\' Video Released
 UNEARTH's latest music video, for the track "Grave Of Opportunity", has premiered exclusively on the massive gaming community site Destructoid.com. Watch it below.
The "Grave Of Opportunity" clip was shot with Artificial Army. Vocalist Trevor Phipps states, "We wanted to give the vibe of a party meeting music. That goal was achieved and then some with the video game/kegger theme."
On November 10, 2009, fans will be able to get their hands on the new deluxe version of UNEARTH's latest album, "The March". The CD will come with a bonus DVD featuring a tour documentary entitled "The Three Day March", with footage shot by acclaimed director Doug Spangenberg (LAMB OF GOD, EVERY TIME I DIE, JOB FOR A COWBOY) during UNEARTH's recent tour of the northeastern U.S. The DVD will also contain footage from inside the studio during the band's recording sessions for "The March" as well as party material from the band's recent tour with TESTAMENT, entitled "Gig Life". In addition to the candid behind-the-scenes clips, performance footage of four songs will be included from last year's Wacken Open Air festival. Rounding out the DVD are the three music videos shot for "The March" — "My Will Be Done", "Grave Of Opportunity" and "Crow Killer".

DRYLL - Former VENOM Members Launch New Band
 UK metal act DRYLL was formed by Jeff Mantas, the founder and original guitarist of metal legends VENOM.
Mantas has built up a five piece powerhouse which honours his metal roots whilst embracing the modern edged aggression of todays scene. Massive guitar riffs and surgically presice drums combine with powerful vocal melodies and harmonies to produce memorable hook lines which together become the sonic assault that is Dryll.
Dryll also features former Venom drummer Antony "Antton" Lant and ex-DEF CON ONE bassist Craig Elliott.

LOST DREAMS Ink Deal With Twilight Distribution, Announce Wage Of Disgrace Release Date; Trailer Video Available
 Austrian melodic death metallers LOST DREAMS have inked a deal with Twilight Distribution, and have announced that their new album, Wage Of Disgrace, will be released on January 8th, 2010.

Lost Dreams recently revealed the cover artwork (click image at left to enlarge) for Wage Of Disgrace.
According to guitarist Andreas Maierhofer, "Wage Of Disgrace is faster and more aggressive than the previous albums, and will feature a modern mixture of melody, groove and high speed songs, peppered with deep growls, aggressive screams and catchy vocal lines of our new singer, Stefan “Schleifi” Traunig".

IMMOLATION Begins Recording New Album
 Veteran death metallers IMMOLATION have entered Millbrook Sound Studios in New York with longtime producer Paul Orofino to begin recording their eighth album, due in early 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented the band: "This will be our sixth time visiting Millbrook Studios and we are really looking forward to the whole process.
"The new album will contain 10 songs of the strongest material we have ever written.
"The new material is more violent and aggressive, with fast sections that take us to a new level of speed and intensity, while complementing the dark and sullen heavier moments. There are plenty of miserable and militant movements to please the diehard and new IMMOLATION fans alike.
"We've spent the past two months rehearsing and fine-tuning the songs so that all ten are stand-outs and create a complete listening experience. Needless to say, we are all very pleased and enthusiastic about the new material and are anxious to debut it to the fans.
"Following the recording process here in Millbrook, we have decided to try something new for the mixing process, so we have enlisted the talents of Zack Ohren (DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION, ALL SHALL PERISH). We are confident he will do an excellent job in giving a fresh new life to the IMMOLATION sound.
"We are still in the process of getting ideas together for the album's concept and cover art, but these final details will be worked out in the near future."

ANCARA: \'Tears With A Smile\' Video Released
 "Tears With A Smile", the new video from Finnish hard rockers ANCARA, can be viewed below. The song — which is described as "a duet ballad" — features a guest appearance by Agnes Pihlava, a finalist in the 2005 Finnish national TV talent competition "Idols".
Commented frontman Sammy Salminen: "I wanted to write a song like 'Black Snow' from our first album. I still like the lyrics in that one. 'We Paint December' is not a preaching song, but more of a story about 'fear' images of the future. I think the humanity is painting our last colors in to our works right on the very planet, if nothing will change. The song is one of the heaviest songs on the album and it was one of the last songs that we finished in the sessions. Because planning the Christmas starts earlier each year, so how about we put to our wish lists: Dear Santa, could we get a new brain to our society?"
"Tears With A Smile" comes off ANCARA's third album, "Chasing Shadows", which was released in Finland on October 21. According to the group, the CD's release was "postponed by two months because the band decided to release the album independently though their own Dks Music label and give the Finnish distribution in to Bonnier Amigo Music's hands. LORDI Preparing To Record New Album
 Finnish heavy metal monsters LORDI are preparing to enter the studio to begin recording their new album for an early 2010 release. 25 songs have already been recorded in demo form for the follow-up to 2008's "Deadache" and the band is currently holding meetings with the upcoming CD's producer (whose identity has not yet been revealed, but who is said to be "a name I'd guess some of [the fans] are or could be somewhat familiar with," according to singer Mr. Lordi) to determine which tracks will make the final cut. "So far it is safe to say that the material is kinda 'Get Heavy' [the band's 2002 debut] LORDI-like, with a strong '80s metal feel, more melodic, and a lot less sinister and 'serious' than on 'Deadache'," says Mr. Lordi. "One thing is for sure, there's not gonna be cover songs on the next one either. In my mind, [a] cover's place is not on an actual album; it could serve as a bonus for a special printing or something. Like with 'The House Without A Name' [LORDI's cover of the DINGO track], for example." He adds, "I might also tell you that the ideas of the new look are starting to come together. There'll be a bit more colorful bunch of monsters next year.
"Deadache" debuted at No. 13 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

 "Tomorrow Police", the new video from Chapel Hill, North Carolina rockers VALIENT THORR, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Mike Aho, and incorporates live action and the animated artwork of Tyler Wolf, a.k.a. VALIENT THORR bassist Nitewolf.
The "Tomorrow Police" video is described in a press relase as "a disturbing vision of a futuristic police state where law enforcement power has gone unchecked. Singer Valient Himself likens it to "Robocops gone wild, minus the boobs."

 U.K. thrashers EVILE have launched a tribute web site for the band's bassist Mike Alexander, who tragically passed away on October 5, 2009 while on tour in Sweden.

"Hi all,
Have not checked in here for a bit. Rehearsals are going great...this is all I will say. Not going to supply you with any spoilers! But to quote Paul...'The show is bigger and better than ever!' I have some amusing photos going up on My Space. Nothing really band related yet...saving that for the tour.
-- Nightcastle is out Tuesday (October 27th)! That is so exciting!
-- I have a new custom Dean Guitar showing up on Monday...that is exciting as well...
-- Hoping the Yankees get things done tomorrow. Not pleased that Girardi kept AJ in last night...

KATAKLYSM: Details Of \'Prevail\' Tour-Edition Re-Release Revealed
 Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM have just revealed the cover artwork and bonus material for the upcoming tour edition re-release of their latest masterpiece, "Prevail". The album is due on January 8, 2010 via Nuclear Blast.
Commented KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono: "We decided to give 'Prevail' a little facelift with a new artwork, and we had a cool song we had recorded during the 'Prevail' studio sessions called 'Cross The Line Of Redemption' that never got on the album. We also added a version with vocals to our most popular instrumental song 'The Last Effort'. On the visual end, we added some cool songs from some European open-air festivals we did and added some videoclips. Just a little something for our fans to hold them over until the next album will come out. ALL ENDS\' New Album To Be Produced By ROBERTO LAGHI
 Swedish hard rock band ALL ENDS will enter the studio on November 2 to begin recording its second full-length album for an early 2010 release. The forthcoming CD will mark the recording debut of the group's new singer, Jonna Sailon, who replaced Emma Gelotte (sister of IN FLAMES guitarist Björn Gelotte) in March.
ALL ENDS's new album will be produced by Roberto Laghi, who is said to be one of the most successful engineers and producers in Sweden (having worked on recordings that have collectively sold more than two million copies). He has recorded, mixed and produced such artists as IN FLAMES, MUSTASCH, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR and DIA PSALMA and has mixed the latest album from SONIC SYNDICATE. He primarily works out of IF (In Flames) Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Commented drummer Joseph "Joey" Skansås: "The pre-production is done, the songs are finally ready to be recorded.
"Roberto, Jesper [Strömblad, IN FLAMES guitarist], Tinna [Karlsdotter, vocals] and me had a great (last) day yesterday checking the songs and lyrics over and over.
"We're done writing, now we will start with the real thing.

THE GATHERING Celebrating 20th Anniversary
 Drummer Hans Rutten of Dutch/Norwegian rockers THE GATHERING has issued the following update:
"And then, suddenly it is there! The 20th anniversary of THE GATHERING. Exactly 20 years ago my brother René and me, together with Bart Smits on vocals, started this band. No strategy, we just wanted to write songs so we could release a rehearsal tape. Lots of people in Oss were playing in bands, and they triggered us to do something for ourselves.
"Exactly 20 years ago we biked from our parents house in Oss to a little village called Heesch, were we rented a rehearsal room on a farm, and started writing our first song: 'Anthology In Black'. Great, exciting times. I can remember clearly it was freezing cold in that room in wintertime. I see Bart struggling to get the heater on with matches. Every Sunday morning we biked to that farm, most of the time with a big hangover because of a rough Saturday evening, and started early in the morning writing and playing songs.
"A lot of things happened in those 20 years! Good times, bad times, but we always survived. Sometimes we had to struggle our way back and managed to come back stronger than ever. Most of the time we enjoyed playing in this band, seeing a lot of countries, touring all over the world and playing clubs and festivals, making nine studio albums, two DVDs and a lot of EPs, singles (even a small top 50 entrance with 'Strange Machines') and live records, getting to meet some of our fantastic fans.. A lot of positive things to remember!
"And now? A party? Well, we will celebrate this with the upcoming live gigs in the Netherlands and a European tour around January/February 2010! The tour will be around three weeks and we are all really looking forward to hitting the road again. There is some sad news in this though as Marjolein can't go with us the first week of this tour due to her daytime job. Luckily she will be there the second and third week. So, who will play bass guitar then? :) We had only one name in our mind: Hugo Prinsen Geerligs. As many of you know Hugo was with us for 15 years and we were very happy when we asked Hugo and he said yes! Five years have gone and now he will join us and help us out! These gigs will be something special for sure and give our 20th anniversary even more cachet!"

DORO PESCH Performs With TARJA TURUNEN At METAL FEMALE VOICES FEST; Video Available
 German metal queen Doro Pesch joined former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen on stage at the Metal Female Voices Fest on October 19, 2009 in Wieze, Belgium to perform the song "The Seer". Watch video footage of Doro's appearance below.
Tarja's version of "The Seer", featuring a duet with Pesch, was included on the "extended special edition" double-CD re-release of Tarja's "My Winter Storm" album, which came out in January. This set was packed with 32 tracks, including the CD "My Winter Storm" with the addition of the song "The Seer" in its original version. The bonus disc presented several new tracks, remixes and live recordings, among them the brand new song "Enough" and "The Seer", featuring Pesch. Both tracks were mixed at Resonate Recording Studios by Toby Wright (SLAYER, KORN, KISS, ALICE IN CHAINS). Also included was the previously unreleased track "Wisdom Of Wind", composed by Jeff Rona and Lisa Gerrard and featuring the Beijing Philharmonic with Qingdao Symphony Orchestra recorded in China. The two-CD set was made available as a digipack deluxe edition including an exclusive poster, new album cover and enhanced booklet containing new photos.

LEAVES\' EYES Win Award At Metal Female Voices Fest; Acoustic Video Available
 According to a band update, "LEAVES' EYES have won an award for best DVD for En Saga I Belgia at the Metal Female Voices Fest 2009, they also wanna thank all the fans, all the people involved and Phil, Valerie and the whole MFVF Team!
Besides, Leaves’ Eyes have performed a small acoustic set at the MFVF VII. You can watch some of it on You Tube:
As some of the fans already noticed, for two songs at the show in Wieze, Oliver Holzwarth (TARJA, BLIND GUARDIAN) played the bass on two songs as substitude for Alla Fedynitch who suffers from a herniated vertebral disk and paralysis on her right hand which made it only possible for her to just play one song.
Alla has to take a physiotherapeutic treatment for the next six weeks which makes it impossible for her to play the upcoming shows in Italy (October 31st) and the Beauty & The Beast Tour (with Leaves' Eyes, ATROCITY (Werk 80 Show), SIRENIA, ELIS, STREAM OF PASSION).
Alla and the whole band deeply regret all this however the shows will take place!"

RATT: New Album Title Announced
 Californian rockers RATT have set "Infestation" as the title of their new album, due in March 2010 via Loud & Proud/Roadrunner Records. The band's first studio CD in 10 years was produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette, whose credits include PUDDLE OF MUDD, CHEVELLE, SALIVA, LIMP BIZKIT, ALTER BRIDGE and THREE DAYS GRACE, to name a few. The effort — which has been described by singer Stephen Pearcy as a cross between 1984's "Out Of The Cellar" and 1985's "Invasion Of Your Privacy" — marked the first time the group had stepped outside of Los Angeles to track a new CD in 20-plus years. | 0 | |

RIMFROST: New Song Available For Free Download
 Swedish black metallers RIMFROST will release their second album, "Veraldar Nagli", on November 16 in Europe and January 12 in the U.S. via Season of Mist's Underground Activists division. The CD was recorded at Andy La Rocque's (KING DIAMOND) Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden.

SLUMBER Parts Ways With Drummer
 Drummer Ted Larsson has left Swedish melodic doom/death metallers SLUMBER "because of private reasons." The band, which is scheduled to enter the studio on January 7 to begin recording its new album, "Resonance", will utilize the services of two session drummers during the tracking process.
"Resonance" will be recorded and mixed over a four-week period at Panic Room Studios in Skara. A late spring release is expected.

RESURRECTED: \'Fierce\' Track Listing Revealed
 Long-running German death metallers RESURRECTED will release their sixth album, "Fierce", before the end of the year via Metal Age Productions. The CD was recorded at Soundlodge studios in Rhauderfehn, Germany with Jörk Uken (GOD DETHRONED, OBSCENITY). The band states, "We're overwhelmed by the result. Expect the most varied and vital RESURRECTED album so far embedded in an awesome production including some guest vocals of Christoph Mieves from GRIND INC."

GENTLE GIANT Reissues Due In November
 On November 3rd, British progressive rock band GENTLE GIANT will be digitally releasing seven of their best-known albums and tracks in digital form for the very first time via their own Alucard label through EMI Music's Label Services unit.
This progressive rock band, which was active from 1970 through 1980, was made up of multi-instrumentalists, and lived to expand the frontiers of contemporary popular music at the risk of becoming very unpopular. The group's dozen albums combine a range of musical styles-jazz, pop, classical, British soul, rock, blues, medieval, pop, blues, Gentle Giant's legacy has become influential to a range of artists from the arena rock, jam band, virtuoso players, and chamber pop genres.
In a Glass House, The Power & The Glory, Freehand, Interview, Playing The Fool-The Official Live, The Missing Piece and Giant For a Day will become available through all digital channels.
The digital releases will also include previously unheard bonus tracks and artwork.
The band has chosen favorite live versions of songs from each album and some obscure radio sessions. Two of the bonus tracks 'Intro 74' and 'Intro 76' have been partially re-recorded, embellished and remixed by Kerry Minnear of the group.
Minnear, plus Gentle Giant bandmates Ray Shulman, Gary Green, John Weathers, and Derek Shulman are available for interviews. Other promotion includes radio, print, Internet, and mobile phone outreach. Digital listening parties are being set up on line, and will include competitions to win special Gentle Giant gift sets.
More Gentle Giant music will be available in a variety of formats in 2010, starting with the January release of the seven CDs Re-Mastered from the original 1?4 inch tapes through Hi-Resolution (24bit 96k) transfer. First quarter of 2010 will also find box sets and Limited Edition Vinyl LPs. | 0 | |
