NIGHTWISH's TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN Says 'Noise' Video Is 'Not A Criticism About Technology Or Cell Phones'

NIGHTWISH keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen spoke to Spain's GoetiaMedia.com about "Noise", the first single from the band's forthcoming ninth studio album, "Human. :II: Nature." The track's accompanying video has been described as a commentary on modern society.

Tuomas said: "It's a reminder. It's some food for thought. I see it more as an optimistic video than pessimistic. Especially the last 10 seconds of the video, when you see the beautiful forest and the landscape, it should fill you with hope the real world is still out there.

"This video is not a criticism about technology or cell phones," he clarified. "Me, all the bandmembers, we love technology. We wouldn't ever have done this record without technology. We love our cell phones, the Internet and all that, but it's a criticism for the addiction that these things cause in human beings. 'Addiction' is the word.

"It's such a shame that we have all these wonderful tools that we can for the good, to spread true information and to be connected to the world," Tuomas added. "I love the idea of social media, I like Twitter, that everybody in the world suddenly has a voice; we have a voice. We can immediately [get our opinions and views] out there. It's just a matter of what you put out there. And that's what the video is all about."

"Human. :II: Nature." will be released on April 10 via Nuclear Blast. The long-awaited follow-up to 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" is a double album containing nine tracks on the main CD and one long track, divided into eight chapters on CD 2.

"Human. :II: Nature." was recorded from August to October 2019 at Röskö campsite, Petrax Studios and Troykington castle, as well as Finnvox Studios, by Tero Kinnunen, Mikko Karmila and Troy Donockley. The mixing was done by Mikko Karmila at Finnvox, with Tuomas Holopainen and Tero Kinnunen. Mastering was done by Mika Jussila at Finnvox.

Former STYX Frontman DENNIS DEYOUNG Releases 'To The Good Old Days' Song Feat. JULIAN LENNON

STYX founding member Dennis DeYoung will release a new original solo album, "26 East, Vol. 1", on April 10 via Frontiers Music Srl. Two tracks from the album have now been released, "East Of Midnight" and "To The Good Old Days" featuring Julian Lennon.

Of the song "To The Good Old Days", DeYoung says: "It was written specifically for Jules and I to sing together. He nailed the vocal and I harmonized. Harmony baby, I love it. It's the final song on my album and it's a simple farewell from me as I recall the sweetest days of my past with my fans, friends, family and forgiveness."

DeYoung describes "East Of Midnight" as a song about "how late night radio changed our lives as the music transported us to a world bigger than the one we knew."

"26 East" was the address where DeYoung grew up in Roseland, Illinois on the far south side of Chicago. This is where the band was formed in his basement in 1962. Across the street lived the Panozzo twins, John and Chuck, who along with DeYoung would go on to form the nucleus of STYX. The cover artwork features three locomotives traveling through space, representing the original members leaving Chicago on their journey to the stars.

"This was supposed to be my final album but there were so many songs written that Serafino Perugino, CEO of Frontiers, suggested dividing it into two albums rather than one," DeYoung states. "This is Volume 1, which sounds pretentious to me, but the marketing folks wanted you to know there are going to be two of them, so hey kids, there are two of them; this is Volume 1."

The process that brought forth the album beginning in the first place started when Jim Peterik, a fellow Chicagoan and nearby neighbor, sent a song to Dennis.

"If not for Jim Peterik's encouragement, talent and prodding I would not have recorded this music," says DeYoung. "He once told me the world needed my music; to which I replied 'have the world text me for verification.' We collaborated from the get go, happily and seamlessly and at this time we have written nine songs together of which five will be on Volume 1. Just two Chicago guys doing what they do best, making music and having a laugh."

To kick off the release of the album, DeYoung will appear at the House of Blues Chicago on April 3. Every attendee will receive a physical copy (CD) of "26 East". In addition, the album will be played in its entirety on the house P.A., followed by a question-and-answer session with DeYoung and Jim Peterik to discuss the new music. A live performance of the music of STYX will follow after that. Attendees can also expect to hear a few songs from the new album performed live. In support of the release of "26 East", DeYoung will tour heavily throughout 2020.

MAGNUM Won't Cancel European Tour: 'F**k Coronavirus'

British rock icons MAGNUM have vowed to play all the scheduled shows on their previously announced European tour despite coronavirus concerns.

Earlier today, the band issued the following statement via social media:

"A statement regarding the impact of Covid-19 on the forthcoming tour.

"Let's get this right out there:

"The band are NOT going to cancel the tour.

"We've been in rehearsal for 3 weeks now. We're all in excellent health. Dennis [Ward, bass] has been fitting in fantastically and we're looking forward to playing our new material for the first time to as many people as possible.

"We are contractually obliged to play every single show and we intend to do so.

"We'd urge every fan and indeed every human being around the world to not fall into the trap of allowing fear and misinformation to prevent them from living their lives to the fullest.

"If a band with an average age of nearly 60 are chomping at the bit to get on a tour bus and go and play our hearts out for 3 months solid we sincerely hope that you're not too afraid to come out and see us! Pack these venues out and show us what MAGNUM fans are made of.

"F&*k Coronavirus

"See you on the road.

"Bob, Tony, Rick, Lee, Dennis and all the crew."

MAGNUM's European tour is scheduled to kick off on March 19 in Glasgow and run through late mid-May.

A number of acts have canceled or postponed tours globally due to the ongoing outbreak, including PEARL JAM, SLIPKNOT, SONS OF APOLLO, LACUNA COIL and TRIVIUM.

Many experts have said the public at large is overreacting to the outbreak, with people led to believe that the epidemic is bigger, closer, and more dangerous than it actually is.

Until this past week, the virus had mainly impacted the live scene in Europe and Asia. But with rising infection and death counts in the United States, the American industry has begun to see the effects, with the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival postponed and South By Southwest canceled.

MAGNUM's latest studio album, "The Serpent Rings", was released in January via Steamhammer/SPV.

ROSE TATTOO Releases Music Video For 'Nice Boys (Don't Play Rock 'N' Roll)' From 'Outlaws' Album

Australian hard rock legends ROSE TATTOO will release "Outlaws", a re-recording of the iconic "Rock N Roll Outlaw" LP, on March 6.

The official music video for the song "Nice Boys (Don't Play Rock 'N' Roll)", taken from "Outlaws", can be seen below.

In addition to classics like the aforementioned "Nice Boys (Don't Play Rock 'N' Roll)", "Rock N' Roll Outlaw", "One Of The Boys" and "Bad Boy For Love", which have etched their way into the music landscape over the last 40-plus years, "Outlaws" includes three bonus tracks from the very early days, songs that were demoed and never made the final cut, those being "love song" "Rosetta", written back in 1975 by Angry Anderson and Ian Rilens, "Snow Queen" and "Sweet Love Rock and Roll", penned by Ian Rilens.

Lovable rogue Angry Anderson recruited the best in the business to head up the assault on this one, comprising legendary bass player Mark Evans of AC/DC fame, iconic guitarist Bob Spencer, Dai Pritchard on slide and Jackie Barnes on drums.

"For me, that's critically important, cosmically important, because this album is all about history, heritage, honor and respect," Angry said. "Just as significant is the forging, the embracing, and the official signing on if you like, to that history by THIS band and having them make their own reverent mark. This really is about honoring the past and respecting the present."

"Rock N' Roll Outlaw" was originally recorded at the famed Alberts studios, produced by the legendary team Vanda & Young and, released through Albert, Repertoire Records in late 1978. ROSE TATTOO's debut album was described as "a dangerous, unpredictable, monster of a record whose power has hardly diminished an ounce in the decades since this album cemented the band's foundation for the years to come."

Added Anderson: "The universe owes a deep unpayable debt to this band's founders Peter Wells and Ian Rilen as well as Mick Cocks, Dallas 'Digger' Royal, Geordie Leach, Rockin' Robin Riley and Lobby Loyde. Paul DeMarco, Dai Pritchard and Steve King have, of course, honorably kept the temple flame burning brightly more recently, but the album also rightfully acknowledges the foresight and support of Ted Albert, Fifa Riccobono, George Young and Harry Vanda who saw something in this band back when most other record companies were calling the cops."

"Outlaws" will be released by Cleopatra Records on all digital platforms as well as on CD and a special limited-edition vinyl pressing in your choice of red or silver.

ROSE TATTOO will undertake its first U.S. tour since 1982 this May.

STEPHEN PEARCY Says RATT Will Hire New Second Guitarist Soon: 'We'll Be Firing On All Cylinders Here Real Quick'

Stephen Pearcy says that RATT is planning to find a replacement for guitarist Chris Sanders, who left the band earlier this year.

Sanders joined RATT in 2018 after the departure of original axeman Warren DeMartini. He spent most of the last two years playing sporadic shows with the band, which also features Pearcy, bassist Juan Croucier, drummer Pete Holmes (BLACK 'N BLUE, RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER) and guitarist Jordan Ziff (RAZER).

Last month, RATT played a one-off show in Oklahoma as a four-piece following Sanders's departure. But according to Pearcy, the plan is for RATT to hire a new second guitarist prior to the launch of the group's next round of dates in late May.

"We'll be firing on all cylinders here real quick," the singer told SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation" on Monday (March 9). "Yes, definitely. That's our sound — the two guitars, bass, drums, singer guy — and it has been. So we'll retain that. Grab another player. We're not too concerned about it. And away we go."

According to Pearcy, Chris's exit from RATT was amicable and he holds no ill will toward his former bandmate.

"The guy was involved with some other businesses, and he'd rather do that," Stephen said. "And it's way cool. Rock and roll isn't the only interest I have, to say the least, so be it."

Asked how RATT will go about finding a new guitarist, Stephen said: "We'll just do what we need to do — probably [hold] auditions, most probably, of course. Invitation only. [Laughs]"

Pressed about whether he and his bandmates would entertain bringing a guitarist that had previously played in RATT back into the group, Pearcy was firm: "No, nobody will be returning for anything."

Last month, Chris released a statement to Mike Gaube's Headbangers announcing his retirement from the music industry. He wrote: "At the beginning of the year, I sent an email to [RATT's] management that I would not be renewing my contract for 2020. After playing music in some form for 25 years, I've retired from the industry."

RATT will join forces with Tom Keifer, SKID ROW and SLAUGHTER for a U.S. tour, dubbed "The Big Rock Summer Tour", this spring and summer.

IRON MAIDEN's BRUCE DICKINSON Once Again Calls Out JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD For Using A Teleprompter

IRON MAIDEN's Bruce Dickinson has once again called out singers who use teleprompters during live performances.

A teleprompter, or autocue, is a display device that prompts the person speaking with an electronic visual text of a speech or script, and it is usually used by vocalists — including JUDAS PRIEST's Rob Halford and BLACK SABBATH's Ozzy Osbourne — who are getting on a bit and have a large body of work to remember.

Dickinson brought up the topic of singers relying on teleprompters during his spoken-word performance last night (Friday, March 6) at CinemaxX Hamburg-Dammtor in Hamburg, Germany.

He said (see video below): "I don't use an autocue on stage. A lot of singers now, they just have the words there: 'Breaking the law, breaking the law, breaking the law, breaking the law, breaking the law, breaking the law, breaking the law.' Breaking the what? 'Breaking the law. Breaking the law.'"

Bruce's latest comments echo those he made back in 2014 in an interview with The Guardian. He said at the time: "I never realized that people were using autocues. What the fuck is that all about? People pay good money and you can't even remember the sodding words."

He continued: "The daftest one I ever saw was [JUDAS PRIEST's] 'Breaking The Law'. It's on the fucking autocue. 'Breaking the law, breaking the law/Breaking the law, breaking the law/Breaking the law, breaking the law/Breaking the law' — guess what? — 'breaking the law.' It's ludicrous."

A few weeks after Dickinson's The Guardian interview was published, Halford was asked about the MAIDEN frontman's comments during a chat with Australia's AndrewHaug.com. Rob said: "Well, the first thing I'll say about that is Bruce Dickinson is a good mate of mine; I love him to death. I think he's an incredible singer, he's a great showman, he's in a wonderful band, IRON MAIDEN, who are one of the biggest metal bands in the world. And as far as what people say about each other, I don't think it really means that much, to be quite honest. We say whatever we say, depending on the day and the emotion that we're at. I know Bruce's heart is in the right place, and he just said what he said, and that's all there is to it to comment, in that respect."

In a 2010 interview with the QMI Agency, Halford spoke about how using a teleprompter helped him when he was asked to fill in for Ozzy with BLACK SABBATH for a show after Osbourne was taken ill. "[Like Ozzy], I use a teleprompter now too because I do so many things," he said. "I can't remember. I wish I was like my mate Bruce Dickinson and could do everything, but I need that safety blanket."

During the 2005 edition of Ozzfest, the traveling festival's founder, Ozzy's wife and manager Sharon Osbourne, famously cut the venue's public-address system and the main stage's power on at least three occasions during MAIDEN's performance at the tour's final stop in Devore, California because she said that Dickinson was "talking shit about my family, night after night," and was being "disrespectful" to her husband during Bruce's "nightly outbursts from the stage" by saying that "we don't need a teleprompter' [like Ozzy]."

GEORGE LYNCH On JUDAS PRIEST: 'I Wish They Would Call Me Up And Hire Me'

George Lynch says he wishes JUDAS PRIEST would call him and ask him to play guitar for the band.

When Glenn Tipton was forced to retire from full-time touring activities due to his diagnosis with Parkinson's disease, he and his PRIEST bandmates opted to hire Andy Sneap to step in, having gotten to know the British-born, 50-year-old producer when he helmed the group's latest album, "Firepower".

Speaking at a guitar clinic at Pitbull Audio in San Diego this past January, George said (see video below): "I still to this day love PRIEST. I wish they would call me up and hire me. Glenn Tipton, hello?"

JUDAS PRIEST bassist Ian Hill recently said that it was up to Sneap to decide if he wants to carry on playing guitar for the band after the completion of the "Firepower" world tour. "Andy is now, these days, first and foremost a producer," he explained. "Whether he wants to go back and do that full time or not, it'll be a mutual decision when the time comes. Andy will be more than welcome to stay. He's done a tremendous job over the last year or so, really. He's done a great job stepping in for Glenn… We were only about three weeks away from starting the tour [laughs], and Andy stepped in and did a great job. He pulled a real rabbit out of the hat in learning a complete setlist of songs in such a short period of time. He pulled it off anyway. And as time's gone on, obviously, his stage presence, he got more comfortable with that, and he's performing great now. So when the time comes… We'll give it to the end of this run and then see what everybody wants to do. As I say, he'll be more than welcome to carry on with us if that's his plan."

Asked if PRIEST had anyone else in mind for the guitarist slot if Sneap ever decided to return to full-time producing, Hill said: "No, not at the time being. The plan is to tour [in 2020] with 50-year celebrations. And if Andy's with us, great. If he wants to carry on with producing, we'll more than understand that. He's done a tremendous job and he'll go with everyone's blessing."

Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease six years ago — after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier — but didn't announce he was going to sit out touring activities in support of "Firepower" until February 2018. The guitarist, who is now 72 and has performed on every PRIEST record since the band's 1974 debut set, "Rocka Rolla", is not quitting the band, but simply cannot handle the rigorous challenges of performing live.

JUDAS PRIEST will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year with a world tour coming to the U.S. in the summer/fall. The "50 Heavy Metal Years Tour" will feature support from SABATON.

LAMB OF GOD: 'Checkmate' Guitar Playthrough Video

A guitar playthrough video for "Checkmate", the first single from LAMB OF GOD's upcoming self-titled album, can be seen below.

"Lamb Of God" will be released on May 8 via Epic Records in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. The follow-up to "VII: Sturm Und Drang" marks LAMB OF GOD's first recordings with Art Cruz, who joined the band last July as the replacement for the group's founding drummer, Chris Adler.

"'Checkmate' had gone through the wringer," said guitarist Mark Morton. "It lived as a demo for quite awhile before it was brought up with the full band. It wasn't until pre-production that the song really came alive, however. Being the first song we decided to dive into during pre-pro, 'Checkmate' was subject to the brunt of the LAMB microscope. Honestly though, once we all wrapped our heads around it, started vibing on it; the song flowed out incredible naturally. The coolest thing about 'Checkmate', to me at least, is that its one of the few LAMB OF GOD tunes to retain its working title as its official title."

The fact that the band's eighth studio effort would warrant "self-titled" status is a testament to the band's pride and satisfaction with these songs and this period in their creativity.

"Putting only our name on it is a statement," singer Randy Blythe said. "This is LAMB OF GOD. Here and now."

A true collaboration between all members of the band, LAMB OF GOD's eighth studio album is an amalgam of each individual's contributions, blended to create a singular style. Guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler fuel the album with a mountain of riffs, taking what LAMB OF GOD are known for, and unbelievably, upping the ante to new levels. The rhythm section of John Campbell, looming large as a rhythmic shadow, and drummer Art Cruz, who makes his studio debut with LAMB OF GOD here on this record, underpin the proceedings with passion, sweat and expansive dynamics. Vocalist D. Randall Blythe is as angry, insightful, and informed as ever. Never one to shrink from facing the darker aspects of our nature head-on, Blythe delivers with no punches pulled, and as only he and LAMB OF GOD can in 2020.

In the midst of writing the ten songs that appear on "Lamb Of God", the group hit pause on the works-in-progress to man the stage as main support SLAYER's "The Final Campaign". After months of playing their best-known songs nightly, LAMB OF GOD returned to the new tracks and began to work with longtime producer Josh Wilbur (KORN, MEGADETH, GOJIRA, TRIVIUM). Special guests Jamey Jasta (HATEBREED) and Chuck Billy (TESTAMENT) also make appearances on "Lamb Of God".

"Lamb Of God" track listing:

01. Memento Mori

02. Checkmate

03. Gears

04. Reality Bath

05. New Colossal Hate

06. Resurrection Man

07. Poison Dream (feat. Jamey Jasta)

08. Routes (feat. Chuck Billy)

09. Bloodshot Eyes

10. On The Hook

LAMB OF GOD and MEGADETH's 55-date tour will be split into two legs, the first of which kicks off June 12 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, and wraps August 1 at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California. The second run launches October 2 at iTHINK Financial Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida, and runs through November 13 at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada.

LAMB OF GOD is:

D. Randall Blythe - Vocals

Mark Morton - Guitar

Willie Adler - Guitar

NEW MESSIAH Covers AEROSMITH Classic "Dream On"; Music Video Streaming

New Messiah, featuring C. Will Harden on guitars and Craig Cefola (Dukes, Wheelhouse Junction) on drums, have released a cover of the Aerosmith hit, "Dream On", featuring Deibys Artigas. A video can be seen below.

Says Craig Cefola: "Working on original material and took a quick break to do this as inspiration hit and felt it was a song we wanted to put our spin on."

New Messiah recently released their debut album, Voice Of Choice, which includes 20 cover songs that showcase several singers including drummer Tom Hunting (Exodus). Tom hand picked the Stevie Wonder classic “You Haven’t Done Nothin’” as a song he always wanted to cover, along with three others including The Bus Boys’ “Boys Are Back In Town”, Jerry Reed’s “East Bound And Down” and The Time’s “Jungle Love” that also sparked the interest of Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels. Darryl wrote his part in that song and helped to open the album with this original take on Morris Day’s classic from the Prince film Purple Rain.

Rob Dukes (Exodus, Generation Kill, Fragile Mortals) also lends his vocals to tracks. Rob can be heard on the Judas Priest classic “Turbo Lover”, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” and Tom Petty’s “Refugee”, all songs hand picked by Dukes who has worked with life long friend Craig Cefola for decades. Rob was instrumental in helping to get this project off the ground and brought in some of these amazing vocalists to help make this unique collection of covers a reality.

Jack Gibson (Exodus, Testament) and Craig Cefola share their respect for Jerry Reed on “East Bound And Down” from the film “Smokey And The Bandit”. Jack plays bass on the track and also performs the song with his side band (Coffin Hunter).

Venezuelan rocker Deibys Artigas is featured on “Hell Is For Children”, “Call Me”, “The Final Countdown”, the Spanish classic “Bailando” and the Billy Joel masterpiece “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant”, a song that took the band several months to create. Piano parts were turned into Acoustic Guitar, while Saxophone and Clarinet morphs into ripping lead guitar solos.

Tbilisi-based vocalist Esté is featured on “Hot Stuff”, “Our Lips Are Sealed”, “Reach Out” and The Cars classic “Moving In Stereo”. She was the first vocalist on the project and inspired the band to expand the collection to a full album release.

Mitch Saul (Kick Start Charlie) brings his unique vocal stylings to “Holiday Road” from the film “National Lampoon’s Vacation”. The band tried out several singers before finally finding the right voice for this rarely covered Lindsey Buckingham classic.

James Arthur (Wheelhouse Junction) pays tribute to Johnny Cash for the hard rock version of “Folsom Prison Blues”.

Finally, New Messiah guitarist C. Will Harden get’s his chance to shine vocally on Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman”.

This unique collection of covers brings together a special group of excellent talent and pays tribute to these vocalist’s favorite songs. Be sure and check out the album tracks on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play and many streaming services.

Late CELTIC FROST Bassist MARTIN AIN, Former CORONER Drummer MARKY EDELMANN Featured On New TAR POND Project; "Please" Music Video Streaming

Tar Pond are a Swiss anti-supergroup formed by legends from the music and art world, established in 2015 by legendary Celtic Frost bassist Martin Ain (RIP), former Coroner drummer and lyricist Marky Edelmann, renowned scratchboard artist Thomas Ott, Swiss art world heavyweight A.C. Kupper, and Stefano Mauriello.

Their first offering, “Please”, is taken from the upcoming debut album, Protocol Of Constant Sadness, which will be released on March 20. Tar Pond are sonic doom and gloom, the soundtrack of brutality downright dripping with heaviness and framed by apocalyptic, Tom Waits-like vocals.

Watch a video for “Please” below, stream/download the track here.

“Please” is an epic, sullen piece, recorded and brought to life in true old-fashioned analogue spirit at New Sound Studios with the producer Tommy Vetterli (himself guitar legend of Coroner fame). The video was shot on 8mm film by Thomas and Marky during a trip through New Mexico, where Ott was on assignment to create a travel book for Louis Vuitton, and completed with help from the magic editing touch of Gion-Reto Killias. The cover artwork for the single was created by Thomas Ott.

The band comments: “After an endless and tragic odyssey, Tar Pond will finally release their debut album. For now we give you the single - “Please”. A story of a dying man who is ready to go, talking to death.“

Tar Pond will celebrate the album release in style with an exclusive performance taking place in Zurich’s porn cinema Kino Roland, on March 20. Tickets will be available on the door.

The debut album, Protocol Of Constant Sadness, will finally see the light of day after a multi-year hibernation. The album was originally written and recorded in 2016 and 2017, but just as the band were getting ready to unleash their bastard child onto the world, fate struck like a hammer and the tragic death of Martin Ain in October 2017 stopped them in their tracks. Tar Pond nearly split up at this point, but ultimately decided to carry on and release the songs, adding Monica Schori on bass to the line-up.

Protocol Of Constant Sadness is out on March 20 as an exclusive vinyl-only physical edition and on all digital services.

Tar Pond are:

Thomas Ott - vocals
Markus Edelmann - drums
Monica Schori - bass
Stefano Mauriello - guitar

WENDY DIO Says It's Her 'Job In Life Right Now' To Keep RONNIE JAMES DIO's Music And Legacy Alive

In a recent interview with Australia's Subculture Entertainment, Wendy Dio, the wife and longtime manager of legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio (BLACK SABBATH, DIO, RAINBOW), discussed the licensing opportunities she pursues for her late husband's work. Since his 2010 passing, Wendy has kept Ronnie in the public eye largely through the much-debated Dio hologram tour. More recently, Wendy, in cooperation with BMG, released a series of vinyl reissues spanning Ronnie's solo career.

"Ronnie's passing will be ten years this year and we have two and a half million [fans] on Facebook," she said (hear audio below). "The movie 'Thor 4' [Editor's note: referring to the upcoming 'Thor: Love And Thunder'], they're using 'Rainbow In The Dark' in that movie. There's a TV show here called 'Stranger Things' and they just asked me permission to use the t-shirt for the next series. I found a young family called LILAC, and they do a fantastic rendition of 'Rainbow In The Dark'. I don't know if you've heard it. It's great. We're going to have them at 'Ride For Ronnie' [motorcycle ride and concert] performing. I think it's great. Young kids, this is the first time ever that kids are listening to their parents' music."

On the subject of how she decides where to license Ronnie's work, Wendy said "I think it has to do with how good the project is. Obviously, I can't say yes to everything, but we figure our which projects are good and we license it to them. I felt that the 'Thor 4' movie was perfect for it, and 'Stranger Things', young kids love that show. I really want to keep Ronnie's music and legacy alive, and that's the things I really want to do. That's my job in life right now."

As previously reported, Wendy is working with legendary rock journalist Mick Wall on Ronnie's long-awaited autobiography, tentatively due in 2021. The book was three-quarters written before the singer's death and which was originally scheduled to be published several years ago via MTV Books.

Also due in 2021 is a documentary that will cover Dio's career from his early days with ELF to his final project, HEAVEN & HELL. It is the first documentary about Dio to be fully authorized by the artist's estate. BMG is both financier and executive producer of the film, with all rights available worldwide.

Ronnie James Dio passed away from stomach cancer on May 16, 2010, at the age of 67. A few months after his death, MTV Books announced plans to release his memoir, which at the time was going to be called "Rainbow In The Dark: The Autobiography Of Ronnie James Dio".

Dio was renowned throughout the world as one of the greatest and most influential vocalists in heavy metal history. The singer, who was recording and touring with BLACK SABBATH offshoot HEAVEN & HELL before his illness, was diagnosed with stomach cancer in late 2009. He underwent chemotherapy and made what is now his final public appearance in April 2010 at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles.

LACUNA COIL's CRISTINA SCABBIA: Italy 'Didn't Create Coronavirus; We Are Fighting It'

Cristina Scabbia of Italian heavy rockers LACUNA COIL says that she and her bandmates are "doing well" and are continuing to live their lives despite the fact that their country has reported the most deaths from the new coronavirus outside of China, where the virus emerged in December.

On Thursday, Scabbia took to her Instagram to write: "I am getting lots of concerned messages about our health and I feel blessed knowing we are so loved.

"I really, really want to take a minute to THANK YOU all.

"Despite news spreading fear (sometimes panic) around the world , Italy has not become like in Resident Evil and not 'every single italian is close to death' as some articles want you to believe, even if of course we are very active and attentive in preventing any case without hiding our heads under the sand.

"We, in the band, are doing well and we keep on living our lives, knowing that even if coronavirus does NOT automatically = death, it is still important to protect whoever is more exposed or is more frail against viruses (especially elders with pathologies and anyone with preconditions) and to prevent any kind of spreading for the world's good.

"I am confident that the moment will pass for us all soon, and I have faith in our health system that WANTS to search for ill people IN ORDER TO HELP AND CURE , being very transparent and not hiding results for the rest of the world, because in case you didn't notice, the whole world is involved and we didn't create this virus, we are fighting it.

"We love you all, see you around the world (hopefully) soon, in the meantime, I will keep on enjoying my beautiful country I love so much and its amazing (and healthy) food"

Earlier in the week, LACUNA COIL canceled its previously scheduled shows in Australia and Southeast Asia due to mounting concerns of the coronavirus.

Nearly 200 people in Italy have died from the coronavirus, including 49 during the most recent 24-hour period. More than 4,600 cases have been reported in total.

The bulk of the cases are in the northern region of Lombardy, whose capital is Milan, which is where LACUNA COIL is based.

In Italy, which has one of the world's oldest populations, 4.25% of individuals confirmed to have the coronavirus have died, the highest rate on the planet.

Around 100,000 people worldwide have contracted the coronavirus and more than 3,000 people have died — the majority in China.

Report: COACHELLA Festival In Talks To Move To October Due To Coronavirus

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has reportedly been postponed to October amid concerns about the coronavirus outbreak.

The news was first reported by journalist Yashar Ali and was corroborated by Entertainment Tonight. Billboard.com also reported that organizers will likely know within about 48 hours if the festivals can be saved.

The event, which was set to take place in Indio, California, on April 10-12 and April 17-19, is expected to be postponed to the weekends of October 9 and October 16.

The lineup was set to include a headlining performance from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE.

An estimated 250,000 people attend Coachella each year over two back-to-back weekends at Empire Polo Club, about two hours outside of Los Angeles.

The news of the postponement comes as authorities in the Coachella Valley region confirmed three new cases of the coronavirus on Monday.

An online petition to call off Coachella this year has garnered more than 16,000 signatures.

Stella Young, who started the petition, wrote: "As a highly inclusive community, we are responsible to protect each and every community member, which include the ones who are elderly, fragile, or the ones who suffers from chronic diseases, cancer, immune system diseases and other form of disabilities. The lives of these people should not be downplayed and we shouldn't risk their lives since they have a higher chance catching COVID-19 and develop critical situations that need to be hospitalized."

Several other major festivals have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak, including South By Southwest in Austin and Ultra Festival in Miami.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, South By Southwest, which was scheduled to begin this Friday (March 13), was facing a rising tide of cancelations from artists such as Trent Reznor and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as major companies like Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter and others. The three major record label groups were reportedly on the verge of pulling out as well.

Until this past week, the virus had mainly impacted the live scene in Europe and Asia. But with rising infection and death counts in the United States, the American industry has begun to see the effects.

Earlier today, Skolnick took to his Twitter to write: "Watching this WH press briefing - every speaker praising the President's 'extraordinary leadership.' Even if that were true (which it's obviously not), this is not how it's done here. What country is this? Who are we? How did we get here? Is anyone buying this horsesh-t?! WtF" He added a "face screaming in fear" emoji.

After another Twitter user chimed in that "They're just making sure [Donald Trump's] ego is soothed because his precious market numbers are in the tank and he probably won't shut up about it," Skolnick replied: "Exactly. I wasn't a fan of George W Bush but after 9/11 - putting aside the Iraq debacle to follow - at least he was able convey a sense of reassurance during a time of emergency. And I don't recall him - or any other President - getting praised by staff as if in a hostage video."

At a press conference on Friday, Trump worked hard to convince the public his administration has the coronavirus under control, even though the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States has more than doubled in the past week.

The President said at a rally in South Carolina Friday that Democrats are now "politicizing" the virus. "They have no clue. They can't even count their votes in Iowa," he said. On Saturday, Trump clarified that he doesn't think coronavirus itself is a "hoax," but the criticism is.

Skolnick has made no secret of his political views, frequently tweeting against Trump's policies, including imploring the U.S. president to "get the HELL out of OUR country" in August 2017 after Trump tweeted about his proposed border wall while Tropical Storm Harvey made landfall in Texas.

Back in 2012, Skolnick tweeted that Ted Nugent, Donald Trump and Dave Mustaine didn't "seem that reasonable" to him because of their "militant" support of then-Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

TESTAMENT's new album, "Titans Of Creation", will be released on April 3 via Nuclear Blast.

PEARL JAM Postpones Spring U.S. Tour Over Coronavirus Concerns

PEARL JAM has postponed its previously announced spring U.S. tour due to concerns over the coronavirus. The 16-date trek in support of the band's upcoming "Gigaton" album was scheduled to kick off on March 18 in Toronto, hit the "Fabulous" Forum on April 15 and April 16, and wrap with a two-date stint in Oakland April 18 and April 19.

The band announced the tour postponement in a social media post earlier today.

PEARL JAM wrote: "As residents of the city of Seattle, we've been hit hard and have witnessed firsthand how quickly these disastrous situations can escalate. Our kids' schools have closed along with universities and businesses. It's been brutal and it's gonna get worse before it gets better.

"So we are being told that being part of large gatherings is high on the list of things to avoid as this global health crisis is now beginning to affect all of our lives.

"Unfortunately, communing in large groups is a huge part of what we do as a band and the tour we've been busy planning for months is now in jeopardy…

"We have and will always keep the safety and well-being of our supporters as top priority.

"So it is with deep frustration and regret that we are forced to make this most unfortunate of announcements…

"This scheduled first leg of our PJ/Gigaton tour will need to be postponed and shows rescheduled for a later date.

"We've worked hard with all our management and business associates to find other solutions or options but the levels of risk to our audience and their communities is simply too high for our comfort level. Add to that we also have a unique group of passionate fans who travel far and wide. We've always been humbled by this and respect their energies and devotion. However in this case, travel is something to avoid.

"It certainly hasn't helped that there's been no clear messages from our government regarding people's safety and our ability to go to work. Having no examples of our national health department's ability to get ahead of this, we have no reason to believe that it will be under control in the coming weeks ahead.

"Again, here in Seattle what we are witnessing we would not wish for anyone. What we do wish for the rest of the country is that they can avoid the harsh negative effects of this and retain their sense of community and take care of one another. Just as we look forward to our next concerts and the ability to gather together and play loud songs as energized as ever.

"We are so sorry…

"And deeply upset…

"If anyone out there feels the same based on this news, we share that emotion with you."

"Gigaton" will arrive on March 27 via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records. Produced by Josh Evans and PEARL JAM, the disc marks the band's first studio album since Grammy Award-winning "Lightning Bolt", which was released on October 15, 2013.

BRET MICHAELS Pulls Out Of THE 80S CRUISE Over Coronavirus Concerns

POISON frontman Bret Michaels has canceled his appearance aboard The 80s Cruise. The 80s Cruise departed from Miami, Florida on March 8 and is sailing to San Juan, St. Thomas, Punta Cana and Labadee before returning to port on March 15.

Michaels's cancelation was announced via a statement on his official web site. The message reads: "Unfortunately the Bret Michaels special event performance on March 13 and 14 have been cancelled due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak. As of Sunday March 8, 2020 it has been advised by the Centers for Disease Control that cruise ship travel be deferred for those with compromised immune systems. Bret Michaels, a life long type1 Diabetic, falls under the category of those that run the extreme high risk of contracting this illness. Even if this illness is not contracted by Bret, he runs the risk of being quarantined on the ship with fellow music fans that might fall ill. Once again, being a Type 1 Diabetic, this would pose a problem of having enough insulin and supplies on hand for his survival for an undetermined amount of time. In addition, out of the concern for his band and crew, he had to make the decision to not perform out of caution for their health and welfare. A few members expressed their concern for contracting the illness and this reason added to Bret's decision. Bret was looking forward to this engagement and had every intention on giving 100% as he always does to entertain the fans that have looked forward to this experience."

Michaels survived one of his most difficult health years to date in 2010 when he faced an emergency appendectomy, a brain hemorrhage and heart surgery.

"I dealt with a lot of health issues during that year, and by the grace of God and a lot of hard work and therapy, I'm still on the good side of the dirt and having a good time," he told People in December.

The 56-year-old rocker, who is a father to two daughters, continues to raise funds and awareness for not only diabetic causes, but St. Jude Children's Hospital, PetSmart charities and more.

This summer, POISON will embark on "The Stadium Tour" with MÖTLEY CRÜE, DEF LEPPARD and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS.
