COZY POWELL Biography 'Dance With The Devil' Due In March

Wymer Publishing has set a March 20, 2020 publication date for "Dance With The Devil - The Cozy Powell Story".

Legendary DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW guitarist Ritchie Blackmore once said: "You can't get any better than Cozy, you know. He's always up there on stage going crazy; he always pushes me on when I look 'round. He always gives me that incentive to play, because Cozy won't let anybody take it easy."

Ritchie wasn't wrong. Powell was a talented, reliable and versatile drummer — a drummer of such caliber that he played with Jeff Beck, RAINBOW, Michael Schenker, WHITESNAKE, EMERSON, LAKE & POWELL, BLACK SABBATH and Brian May as well as being a hugely in-demand session player. But before all that, he initially came to prominence with three Mickie Most-produced Top 20 singles under his own name. An extraordinary feat for an instrumentalist, and a drummer at that.

Powell's career as a musician is a story that needs to be told. Author Laura Shenton has a Masters degree in "Music Since 1900" from Liverpool Hope University. Aside from her detailed research, her understanding of music adds an insightful angle on Powell's abilities in this, the first and long-overdue biography of this highly talented and much missed musician that presents Powell's career in all its glory.

For more information, visit www.wymeruk.co.uk.

Powell died on April 5, 1998 following a car crash, driving his Saab 9000 in bad weather on the M4 motorway near Bristol, while talking to his girlfriend on his mobile phone. He was living at Lambourn in Berkshire at the time and had returned to the studio shortly before his death to record with FLEETWOOD MAC co-founder Peter Green. By that time, he had been the drummer on at least 66 albums, with minor contributions on many other recordings. It was generally felt that Powell's death was a great loss to the world of popular music. Countless rock-based drummers have cited Cozy Powell as an influence.

ELDER Part Ways With Drummer Matt Cuoto

Elder have announced the departure of their drummer Matt Couto earlier this month. The group have yet to name his replacement, but had the following to say of the split:

“Elder has always existed in a state of constant evolution – a product of our personal and creative development – and sometimes that means moving in different directions. With that being said, we’ve reached a point where founding member and drummer Matt Couto and Elder have decided to part ways.

When we began this band, none of us had any idea that it would become more than a hobby, a stoner rock band in tribute to our adolescent idols. 12 years and change later, we’ve travelled the world together, played more amazing gigs than we can count and made some music that we consider great – or at the very least a lot of fun.

Matt is and will always be a brother to us; he’s made a permanent impression on our lives, and we’re thankful for all the time we’ve spent together up to now, both on and off stage. His inimitable drumming style shaped all of Elder’s work, and we’ll always be indebted to him for helping establish the band’s sound.

We’ve been relatively quiet as of late, since understandably these kind of major changes in a band necessitate a bit of reflection and reorganization. However, we’re lucky to say that we’ve not had to take too much of a break or a step back and have already found our new drummer, whom we’ll introduce shortly.

Thanks for reading – more soon!”

CELESTIAL RUIN Release "Heart Shaped Ashes" Music Video

Vancouver, BC's Celestial Ruin released their new single, “Heart Shaped Ashes”, produced by Mike Plotnikoff, on November 5, and now share a video for the song.

The visual introspection tells the story of loss and the walk through the painful fire of rediscovering yourself and overcoming the past. Celestial Ruin has been making a name for themselves since they formed in 2012 and shook the local scene with their debut album The Awakening. Their last single, "Sense Of Exile", from their 2016 follow up EP Pandora has over half a million plays on Spotify.

Since then, they have only improved and the new single embraces the grey area of rock that is still radio-friendly and heavy. Celestial Ruin shares the theme behind the single: “The music video for Heart Shaped Ashes is about the battle between who you were in the past and who you are now. It's about becoming strong enough to let go of the past and the choices you made in the pursuit of love. No matter the cost.”

The single is available on Spotify and Apple Music. Watch the video below:

"Dirty Blues" lyric video:

"Here Comes The King" video:

Croatian singer Dino Jelusick, over the course of just one album and one covers EP released with his band Animal Drive, has started to make quite the name for himself in the hard rock and metal scene. More than a few musicians of note have called up Dino to see if he might be interested in collaborating, which he is floored by. This talented young singer has an appreciation and deep respect for the musical heroes who preceded and profoundly influenced him. So, when George Lynch opened the doors to the idea of writing and producing a record together, Dino was more than intrigued. Frontiers, known for releasing interesting collaborations of this nature, was more than happy to be the label home for this project.

The resulting album and band, Dirty Shirley - named after one of the first songs they wrote together - covers a wide spectrum of styles. Classic metal to more “traditional” Lynch Mob oriented sounds and even some hints of the first Badlands album are in the mix. Showcasing a stunning performance from George Lynch - a seemingly bottomless pit of inspired and creative guitar playing - and an absolutely over the top lead vocal performance from Dino, Dirty Shirley is going to be an easy 'must listen' for the hard rock and metal crowd. Evanescence drummer, Will Hunt rounds out the lineup.

Dino says, "This record was done differently from everything else I did so far. George jammed and sent me rough versions and I tried a thousand melodies and lyrics on it. It turned out fantastic and very versatile. From r&b and rock ballads to some very heavy tunes, bluesy stuff, hard rock, rock 'n' roll, grungy vibes... everything. Will was the perfect drummer for this, loud and groovy. I recorded vocals while being on tour with TSO in the bus, every evening when we had a day off. And finished it in Croatia. You gotta listen to the whole album to get the impression of it, not only singles. But the first single will surely kick your ass, so better be prepared!”

George adds, "At its core, this record is built on classic guitar riffage and grooves, but is also infused with eclectic tendencies scattered about that are unexpected and challenging. 80% of the guitar work on this record is rhythms, so I wanted to create a three-dimensional sonic tapestry that complimented the more basic riffs and chords. I tried to add a little twist to everything." He continues, "It was funny because when the label approached me about pairing up with Dino, for some reason I got the impression he was an Italian pop singer. LOL. So I wrote some songs in that vein, haha. ; ) Then when I heard what he was actually all about, I had to duck back into the laboratory and reinvent the wheel. If Ronnie James Dio and young Coverdale had a baby boy, his name would be Dino."

The band is currently exploring live show opportunities for 2020, so stay tuned for more news on Dirty Shirley!

Lineup:

George Lynch: Guitars
Dino Jelusick: Vocals, Keyboards
Will Hunt: Drums
Trevor Roxx: Bass

The Agonist vocalist Vicky Psarakis has checked in with the following:

"Going back in time, to one of the greatest bands in history. 'The Show Must Go On' is one of my favorite songs of all time. I remember singing this in cover bands when I was younger and thinking that I need to record it one day."

September 2019 saw melodic death metal juggernaut, The Agonist, release their sixth studio album, Orphans, via Rodeostar Records. They recently shared a brand new music video for the fierce track, “The Gift Of Silence”.

On their sixth studio album, the band created a wild metal beast that feeds on melodic death metal and rock-tinged moments. In between beautifully anthemic sound walls, pounding grooves and fierce riffs, frontwoman Vicky Psarakis showcases her impressive and diverse range that evokes both rock diva and death metal maven vibes.

PHANTOM ELITE Signs To Frontiers Music Srl; Label Debut Due In 2020

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of Phantom Elite to a multi-album deal. The band is fronted by singer Marina La Torraca (Exit Eden, Avantasia [live vocalist]) and features songwriting and production from former After Forever guitarist and producer Sander Gommans. Sonically, Phantom Elite is a perfect combination of symphonic, progressive, and heavy metal.

Originating six years ago, the seeds of Phantom Elite sprang from Sander Gomman's HDK project. While releasing the HDK album Serenades Of The Netherworld, Gommans brought together a group of young musicians with the intent of playing HDK's songs in a live setting. The natural chemistry among these passionate musicians wound up sparking a wealth of new and exciting musical ideas and Phantom Elite was born.

"With the backbone of a sure-fire label and its decades of history-making in the music business, we are proud to present the release of our next album in 2020,” says the band. "Impacting songs where modern meets symphonic and progressive, (very!) heavy riffs meet epic melodies, overloaded with a wide spectrum of emotions and love for music. For sure, a high note in our career!"

The debut album Wasteland (2018), and the accompanying well received tour of Europe, showed that Phantom Elite is ready to take flight. The band's Frontiers debut, and second album overall, is anticipated to be released sometime in 2020. Marina, Sander, Max van Esch (guitars), and Joeri Warmerdam (drums) are currently working hard to finish work on the album, but their main goal is celebrating their shared love for music.

For those not familiar with the band, you can watch their video for "Wasteland" below.

Stay tuned for more news in the new year.

Bridge Nine Records released the Blu-ray edition of The Godfathers Of Hardcore, the critically-acclaimed, Ian McFarland-directed documentary, on November 15. The film is available digitally here.

The Godfathers Of Hardcore film is an intimate portrait about two of the most influential men in underground music - Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma of the iconic New York hardcore punk rock band Agnostic Front. For over 35 years, the duo has shared something inside they couldn't scream loud enough. Something they couldn't play hard enough. Something they couldn't stop, even if they wanted to. Agnostic Front is the combined roar from the hearts of two guys who have fought their whole lives, and whose pain, passion, and power helped ignite a movement.

Starting in the '80s on the streets of the Lower East Side, Agnostic Front rose to play a key role in defining, shaping, and establishing the sound and code of conduct for a still-thriving, now-worldwide culture. Today, Roger, 54, and Vinnie, 63 remain the very embodiment of hardcore, representing endurance, perseverance, brotherhood, strength against oppression and the will to keep going-obstacles be damned.

The Godfathers Of Hardcore has been on the festival circuit since November 2017 where it premiered at the DOCNYC 2017 Film Festival. It has been featured at over 15 festivals worldwide, selling out the majority of those screenings and winning multiple accolades and awards along the way.

Godfathers made its US/Canadian broadcast premiere on Showtime in December 2018 then on SKY in The UK in July 2019 and both networks are currently streaming and broadcasting the film. The film was released worldwide on iTunes, Google, Amazon, Vudu, and Vimeo On Demand, and in the first week of its release the film quickly rose to be #1 Music Film on iTunes and held that position for nearly two weeks.

The Blu-ray edition of the film features eight different language subtitle options and is available in a standard case as well as a special version housed in a gatefold 7" jacket cover, with a bonus, seven song live recording from the Agnostic Front show Berlin that is featured in the film.

ABBATH Enters Rehab To Help Him 'Get Clean Once And For All'

Former IMMORTAL frontman Abbath, who currently leads his own namesake band, has decided to enter rehab after the cancelation of several shows on the latter group's South American tour.

Earlier today, Abbath — whose real name is Olve Eikemo — issued the following statement: "Outstriders, throughout life you're dealt different decks of cards. I've been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to live my dream, which is writing music, putting out records and touring the world, playing to fans all over the globe. For the most part it has been a tremendous ride, but there's also been moments where things have gone wrong. Most notably during the recent tour of South America, where we had to cancel shows in Argentina and Brazil.

"It's no secret that I've been battling addiction. I have now come to realize that it's time to pick a fight with this demon. I've committed myself to a rehab program that's going to help me get clean once and for all. I feel more motivated and determined than ever to win this battle.

"Due to my program, we need to cancel the December shows that we have scheduled with my other band, BÖMBERS. We do apologize to our fans that was looking forward to these shows. We will make it up to all of you, and we're currently working on rescheduling these shows.

"Right now I'm very much looking forward to be coming back clean, stronger and more focused and fired up than ever.

"Europe and USA, you have been warned, we'll hunt you down like a thunderstorm next year. Nothing is going to stop us.

"Horns up! Abbath"

Earlier in the month, ABBATH played a disastrous two-song concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, resulting in some fans requesting a refund.

According to report on the local metal site El Culto, the doors to Club Palermo opened two hours later than scheduled, forcing support acts DESCARNADO and MEDIUM to play heavily abbreviated sets. When ABBATH finally took the stage, the group consisted only of its visibily inebriated namesake frontman alongside bassist Mia Wallace and drummer Ukri "Uge" Suvilehto. Rumors had spread earlier in the day that Abbath had gotten into an argument with guitarist Ole André Farstad, who reportedly decided to stay at the hotel and skip the gig.

ABBATH reportedly tried to open the concert with "Count The Dead" at least twice, only for the frontman to drop his guitar on the ground after 10 seconds and throw himself into the crowd. They then tried to perform a "very poor version" of the song "Tyrants" by Abbath's former band IMMORTAL, before Abbath left the stage and was taken to the dressing room, from which he did not re-emerge to finish the set.

ABBATH was touring South America in support of its second album, "Outstrider", which was released in July via Season Of Mist.

"Outstrider" marks ABBATH's second release since the frontman's exit from IMMORTAL. The highly publicized legal battle in 2014 over the rights to the IMMORTAL name pitted Abbath against co-founder Demonaz (real name: Harald Nævdal) and drummer Horgh (real name: Reidar Horghagen), with Abbath claiming the pair abandoned IMMORTAL after they moved their gear out of the band's rehearsal space. The Norwegian court systems determined otherwise, and awarded the IMMORTAL name to Demonaz.

Bergen, 25th of November 2019,

Outstriders,

Throughout life you're dealt different decks of cards. I've been...

METALLICA, GUNS N' ROSES, BON JOVI Among POLLSTAR's 'Top Touring Artists Of The Decade'

According to the music industry trade publication Pollstar, BON JOVI, METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES were among the 20 highest-grossing touring acts of the second decade of the 21st Century.

Over the course of five tours — including the ongoing trek in support of "This House Is Not For Sale" — BON JOVI grossed more than $866 million worldwide between 2010-2019. "There are very few bands that can play stadiums and arenas around the world for as long as they can," said the band's American booking agent, Chris Dalston. "Each tour seems to be bigger than the one before. Jon [Bon Jovi] listens to music and knows trends and genres as well as anyone. He is very competitive. This is his career and he wants it to last as long as possible. He takes care of himself and follows a punishing routine to stay healthy and focused. Many young bands can learn a lot about work ethic from watching Jon."

Over the course of his "The Wall Live" and "Us + Them" tours, Roger Waters sold more than $702 million worth of concert tickets over the past decade. The latter trek alone saw the PINK FLOYD alumnus perform to more than 2.2 million people. "For Roger to make the Top 10 list as a solo artist is a remarkable achievement and is testament to his incredible body of work," said Waters's manager, Mark Fenwick.

The top-grossing metal band of the past decade comes as no surprise, as METALLICA sold more than $661 million worth of tickets at its 245 shows to date over the last 10 years. Just behind them at No. 13 on Pollstar's chart was GUNS N' ROSES, whose just-completed three-and-a-half-year "Not In This Lifetime" tour was the third-highest grossing tour of all time. Overall, the band sold more than $648 million worth of tickets over the past 10 years.

"GUNS N' ROSES has accomplished some unbelievable milestones in just three short years," said the band's American booking agent, Ken Fermaglich. "The band has made new memories for the fans and they are in a great place, yet we have only scratched the surface and there are even more exciting things on the horizon."

Pollstar's complete "Top Touring Artists Of The Decade" chart is as follows:

01. U2 ($1.038 billion)

02. THE ROLLING STONES ($929 million)

03. Ed Sheeran ($922 million)

04. Taylor Swift ($900 million)

05. Beyonce ($857 million)

06. BON JOVI ($837 million)

07. Paul McCartney ($814 million)

08. COLDPLAY ($732 million)

09. BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND ($730 million)

10. Roger Waters ($702 million)

11. Elton John ($676 million)

12. METALLICA ($662 million)

13. GUNS N' ROSES ($648 million)

14. THE EAGLES ($630 million)

15. ONE DIRECTION ($628 million)

16. Pink ($626 million)

17. Jay-Z ($612 million)

18. Kenny Chesney ($609 million)

19. Justin Bieber ($554 million)

20. Bruno Mars ($546 million)

Notably, BON JOVI was ranked 14th on Pollstar's list of the top-grossing artists of the previous decade (that is, 2000-2009), while METALLICA was ranked 15th.

Will 'The Osbournes' Return To TV? KELLY OSBOURNE Says Now Is 'Closest We've Ever Come To Accepting' Offer

Ozzy Osbourne's daughter says that the family recently came very close to saying yes to a revival of the MTV reality show "The Osbournes", which followed the lives of the BLACK SABBATH singer and his family.

"I'm not joking, every single year about every three months or so someone else gives us another offer and we keep saying no," Kelly Osbourne told PeopleTV's Reality Check on Thursday. "It keeps coming 'round. Right now there's another offer on the table and I think this is the closest we've ever come to accepting one. But whether that will happen or not, I don't know."

Asked why the family hasn't yet said yes to a reboot, Kelly said: "We've got other people to think about. My brother's got three kids. Do we want that life for them without them being old enough to choose if they want to do it or not like my brother and I were."

The "fly-on-the-wall" TV series, which became the highest rated original program in MTV's history, started in 2002 and ended in 2005. The show chronicled Sharon Osbourne's battle with cancer, as well as younger children Kelly and Jack Osbourne's stints in rehabilitation for drug and alcohol abuse.

"The Osbournes" was credited with being the first show where cameras followed celebrities around and led to a number of copycats like A&E's "Gene Simmons Family Jewels", which followed the life of KISS bassist Gene Simmons and his family, and A&E's "Growing Up Twisted", about the family of TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider.

Earlier this year, Ozzy said that he was "falling apart emotionally" during the making of "The Osbournes".

"All I can say to you is this: number one, if someone offers you a shitload of dough to be on television, you'd have to be a mug to turn it down," he told Metal Hammer. "I thought it was gonna be a piece of cake, but you have a camera crew living in your house for three years and see how you feel at the end of it. You feel like a fucking laboratory rat.

"It got to the point where I was falling apart emotionally," he continued, "because you can't fucking relax. It doesn't matter where you go for a piss, you're paranoid there's a camera in there. But I'm not ashamed of it and it's a big hit. Would I do it again? It's now Kardashianville. The world's changed, man."

In a 2012 interview, Sharon said that her family's "lives were never the same again" after "The Osbournes". "Everybody's grown up with Ozzy, everybody loves Ozzy, but for us, we were a family," she said. "You know, we weren't in the public eye at all, and it changed our lives so much."

In "The Osbournes", the legendary singer would often be seen running on a treadmill and getting fit. But he told The Daily Record back in 2009 that it was all a charade. Once the cameras stopped rolling, Ozzy, supposedly a recovering alcoholic, would go to a room and get stoned.

Sharon said: "As Ozzy will tell you, the three years that we were filming, Ozzy was stoned the whole time. He wasn't sober for one day."

Ozzy revealed: "When the filming ended, I'd go in my little bunker and smoke a pipe and drink about a case of beer every day.

"I'd give myself some goodness and get up early in the morning and go jogging for six miles."

Ozzy admitted he couldn't watch the show — because it's obvious by his body language in front of camera that he didn't know what time of day it was.

He said: "I used to do a lot of prescription drugs as well."

BANG TANGO's Original Lineup To Reunite For Select Shows In 2020

The original lineup of BANG TANGO will reunite for select shows in 2020.

All five of the group's original members — guitarist Mark Knight, singer Joe Lesté, guitarist Kyle Stevens, bassist Kyle Kyle and drummer Tigg Ketler — have agreed to regroup for live appearances next year.

BANG TANGO was founded by Knight and Kyle in 1988. After recruiting Stevens, Lesté joined, along with Ketler, to complete the classic line up of BANG TANGO.

Lesté stated about BANG TANGO's comeback: "As with any band in any genre, over the years there have been multiple lineup changes and the obvious ups and downs, both personally and professionally with this band. The five of us had, and still have, a bond musically and personally that simply doesn't come along every day. Within one hour of us getting in the rehearsal room, it was obvious that we needed to do this, and do it for the RIGHT reasons. We are all only here once."

Knight added: "We as in BANG TANGO just want to say we're thrilled by your love and warmth you have given us today regarding our announcement. Date of shows and locations will come in time! This isn't just a one-off reunion show we plan on doing! Cheers and thanks again for the amazing comments and support!"

Although BANG TANGO was often lumped in with the whole '80s glam metal movement (perhaps due to their pretty-boy looks and the fact that they hailed from Los Angeles), the hard-rockin' quintet was one a few L.A. glam groups to incorporate funk into its sound — around the same time as the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and FAITH NO MORE made it acceptable to do so. The band piqued the interest of Mechanic/MCA shortly after the quintet issued its first in-concert recordings, 1987's "Live Injection". Following the release of their major-label debut, "Psycho Cafe", in 1989, MTV's "Headbangers Ball" gave significant air time to the single "Someone Like You", and eventually it became a mainstay on the dial MTV charts. The group continued to issue albums throughout the early 1990s, including "Dancin' On Coals", "Ain't No Jive...Live!" and the critically acclaimed "Love After Death".

BANG TANGO released three studio albums in the past decade and a half: "Ready To Go" (2004), "From The Hip" (2006), and the latest CD, "Pistol Whipped In The Bible Belt" (2011).

BANG TANGO's most recent lineup consisted of Lesté, bassist Lance Eric, drummer Timmy Russell and guitarist Steve Favela.

AS I LAY DYING's PHIL SGROSSO: 'Over Time, People Will See The Positive Change' In TIM LAMBESIS

AS I LAY DYING guitarist Phil Sgrosso believes that in time, people will see a "positive change" in the band's singer Tim Lambesis, who was famously convicted in 2014 for his role in a murder-for-hire plot against his estranged wife.

In May 2014, Lambesis was sentenced to six years in jail after pleading guilty to paying a San Diego police officer posing as a hitman $1,000 to kill his wife. Approximately two and a half years later — on December 17, 2016 — he was discharged from a California detention facility and was transferred to the Division of Adult Parole Operations.

In June 2018, AS I LAY DYING played its first show with Lambesis in five years and released a new single. Lambesis also owned up to his crimes in a long apology on the band's Facebook page after his release.

Although most AS I LAY DYING fans have welcomed the group's return, some resistance remains; in late 2018, the band was dropped from the lineup of Spain's Resurrection Fest, and earlier this year, a venue in Memphis, Tennessee called off AS I LAY DYING's performance after it faced online backlash.

"It's different for everybody on how they want to react to it, but I think over time, people will see the positive change in Tim," Sgrosso told Houston Press. "They'll see the new person that he's become as well as the new person he's still trying to become, and the positive impact he's trying to have on others."

In the three years since he was released from prison, Lambesis obtained his certification as an addiction treatment counselor and is actively involved with helping those struggling with mental health and depression through HeartSupport, a Christian organization headed by AUGUST BURNS RED singer Jake Luhrs.

This past Sepember, AS I LAY DYING released its seventh full-length album, "Shaped By Fire", via Nuclear Blast. The disc includes the song "My Own Grave", which was originally released as a standalone single in June 2018 and marked the band's first new music in five years.

"It was the first song we pieced together as a [reformed] band," Sgrosso told Houston Press. "It allowed us to play our first show in San Diego and ultimately expand into doing a full album and going on tour.

"I would say the process [writing 'My Own Grave'] showed that after all that time and adversity, we could come back and come together to have a positive experience working on a song," he continued. "It was definitely cathartic for everyone to just be, like, 'Wow! Things have changed for the better.' It was very rewarding and gave us a sense of accomplishment."

The return of AS I LAY DYING raised some questions, particularly since guitarist Nick Hipa categorically denounced the band's disgraced frontman as a "sociopathic narcissist in definite need of rehabilitation" in a social-media post back in 2014.

AS I LAY DYING will kick off the "Shaped By Fire" U.S. headlining tour this weekend. Support on the trek will come from AFTER THE BURIAL and EMMURE.

EUROPE's JOEY TEMPEST Slams Britain's Conservative Party For Using 'The Final Countdown' Without His Permission

EUROPE singer Joey Tempest has slammed Britain's Conservative Party for using the band's classic song "The Final Countdown" without his permission.

The Conservative Party, led by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has been playing the track to motivate campaigners at the party headquarters.

But Tempest, who wrote the song in 1986, has asked the party to "cease and desist" from using his track.

EUROPE's manager, Adam Parsons, told The Times newspaper: "Joey does not condone any use in a political context. This was written as a good-time hard rock song back in 1986."

Last year Tempest, who was born in Sweden but currently resides London, told The Big Issue about "The Final Countdown": "The song took a life of its own. It has been used by political parties — both Hillary [Clinton] and [Donald] Trump used it. The song has started to be played more around new year, for new beginnings, but the ironic thing is it’s not really that positive. It's melancholy, in a minor key."

Tempest also said that he would have voted "Remain" had he gotten a British passport.

During the 2016 U.S. presidential race, Clinton uploaded a video titled "Donald Trump: The Final Meltdown" and set it to the EUROPE song.

"The Final Countdown" was the first single released from EUROPE's third studio album, "The Final Countdown", in 1986. The band's most recognizable and popular song, it reached No. 1 in 25 countries, including the United Kingdom. In the United States the song peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 18 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The single was certified gold in the United Kingdom in 1986.

OZZY OSBOURNE Bassist ROBERT 'BLASKO' NICHOLSON To Be Honored At KITTEN RESCUE's 'Fur Ball At The Skirball' Gala

Robert "Blasko" Nicholson, bassist for OZZY OSBOURNE, will be honored by Kitten Rescue, one of Southern California's largest non-profit animal rescue organizations, with its 2019 Advocacy Award for his work homing adoptable cats and kittens.

"Blasko is a true cat lover with a passion for advocating for homeless cats," said Sandra Harrison, Kitten Rescue's executive director. "He has made it his mission to raise awareness and increase adoptions for black cats in particular. Through his social media channels, he has highlighted Kitten Rescue's black cats and has been instrumental in helping us to place many black cats. He has also raised funds for Kitten Rescue over the years through his birthday fundraisers and as an official member of Team Kitten Rescue in the LA Big 5k. We are so excited to honor Blasko with this year's Advocacy Award."

Blasko commented on his relationship with Kitten Rescue and receiving the group's Advocacy Award: "Kitten Rescue and I met through mutual friends Geezer and Gloria Butler, and I have assisted in many of their fundraising events over the years. Most recently, I have dedicated myself to helping them with the adoptions of their black cats because they are typically difficult to find homes for. I am beyond honored to be the recipient of their Advocacy Award this year."

Gloria and Geezer Butler (BLACK SABBATH) have been honored by and support Kitten Rescue and the group's mission. Geezer said: "As a fellow bass player and cat aficionado, I congratulate Blasko on a very well-deserved Advocacy Award. His work with rescuing cats, especially black cats, and helping to place them for adoption is an outstanding achievement, and worthy of this award. Congrats Blasko!"

Gloria Butler added: "I remember when my husband and I first mentioned Kitten Rescue to Blasko. I knew, like us, he was a cat lover, but he’s certainly taken the lead in his passion for and allegiance with Kitten Rescue. He attends adoption events, really pushing those black cats. He even runs the marathon with them!! Who knew? Anyway, I'm so happy to see Blasko getting honored this year. Well deserved!"

This year's event is hosted by TV and radio personality Mark Thompson (host of KFIAM 640's show "The Edge" on iHeartRadio). The event features an open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, a plant-based three-course meal, live entertainment, awards, celebrity guests, and video presentations.

Sponsorship opportunities are here and tickets can be purchased by visiting here or by clicking here.

Kitten Rescue's annual "Fur Ball At The Skirball" gala is one of the organization's biggest yearly fundraisers. The funds raised enable the group to continue its never-ending mission of rescuing and rehabilitating homeless cats and kittens from Los Angeles's streets and city shelters. Kitten Rescue's volunteers adopt out over 1,000 cats and kittens into loving homes every year. Since it began, the group has rescued and placed over 21,000 cats. Thousands more have been helped through Kitten Rescue's volunteer-fueled education and outreach programs.

This year's celebrity guests include: Tricia Helfer ("Lucifer", "Battlestar Galactica"), Miranda Cosgrove ("iCarly", "Despicable Me"), Blasko, Instagram purrsonalities Nala Cat and Waverly McTinyBeans, Instagram personality Nathan Kehn (Nathanthecatlady), and other special guests. The presenting sponsor is The Stanley W. Ekstrom Foundation, along with additional sponsors World's Best Cat Litter, Hueston Hennigan, JustMangoBrown, Cathy Berry, Michelson Found Animals, BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Custom Catios, Lady Freethinker and Love Nala. Over 350 guests are anticipated.

Previous attendees, honorees, special guests and hosts have included: Geezer Butler, "The Office"'s Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Zach Woods, Ellie Kemper ("The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"), Michael Trucco ("Battlestar Galactica", "Scandal"), Katee Sackhoff ("24", "Battlestar Galactica"), Emily Deschanel ("Bones"), Lesley-Ann Brandt ("Lucifer"), Casey Wilson ("Black Monday"), Wendi McLendon-Covey ("The Goldbergs"), Daniela Sea ("The L Word"), Tahmoh Penikett ("Battlestar Galactica", "Taken"), Kent King ("General Hospital"), Hannah Shaw (Kitten Lady), Councilman Paul Koretz, Billy McNamara (actor), Diane Warren (songwriter) and Joel Ward (magician).

Watch LACUNA COIL's Entire Performance In Sacramento

Capital Chaos TV has uploaded video footage of LACUNA COIL's entire October 3 performance in Sacramento, California. Check it out below.

LACUNA COIL's latest album, "Black Anima", was released on October 11.

The deluxe edition of "Black Anima" comes with a limited-edition custom deck, created with the help of artist Micah Ulrich.

Last month, LACUNA COIL released an Amazon Original song titled "Bad Things".

The band recently completed the "Disease Of The Anima" North American tour with ALL THAT REMAINS.

LACUNA COIL frontwoman Cristina Scabbia told LA Metal Media about the "Black Anima" title: "It has been a while that we wanted to include the word 'black' in the title. The idea was there for quite a long time, but we wanted something to represent the record that could work well with the word 'black.' We immediately thought about 'anima' because it means 'soul' in Italian. We combined even in the past some Italian words with English words. We are Italians and we just like to include something more of our roots. This record, if 'Delirium' was coming from a deep, sadness kind of moment, this record is the realization that sometimes it is okay to not be okay. Life is not perfect. We're all going through struggles. We don't have to be afraid to talk about them and we don't have to be afraid to show the lowest parts of our life. Because we are not alone. Other people are dealing with this stuff at the same time as we are dealing with it. Everything will eventually be okay because of yin and yang."

Regarding the disc's musical direction, Cristina said: "The songs are really diverse. I would say, though, the best would be to listen to from beginning to end. I know that we are in an era where [people] stream music where you listen to a song and skip to another. For us, the best that would be for our fans is whoever has the chance to listen to 'Black Anima' would take one hour out of their day and just listen from the beginning to the end. We did an opening track and a closing track. And even though the songs are not connected, it really is a journey. We really put a lot of thought into the progression of the songs as well. We're still attached to the old-school idea of a record and not just single songs. We don't like to focus on one song to put out as a successful single and forget about the other songs because they are fillers. We don't think this way. For us, each song has a special meaning and we took care of that song with the same importance as all the other songs."

In a 2013 interview with Metal To Infinity, EXODUS singer Steve "Zetro" Souza stated about replacing Paul Baloff in EXODUS: "Honestly, it was a big set of shoes to fill. I didn't win over the diehard EXODUS fans until a couple years after I joined. Paul had such a charisma to him. He was the ultimate definition of what a true metalhead was. I wasn't fully accepted in the eyes of the fans until we started touring for 'Fabulous Disaster'. At that point I was the voice of EXODUS."

Watch Pro-Shot Video Of KING DIAMOND's Entire SUMMER BREEZE Performance

WDR's "Rockpalast" has uploaded professionally filmed video footage of KING DIAMOND's entire performance at this year's edition of the Summer Breeze festival, which was held August 14-17 in Dinkelsbühl, Germany. Check it out below.

The band's setlist was as follows:

01. The Candle

02. Voodoo

03. Funeral

04. Arrival

05. A Mansion In Darkness

06. Let It Be Done

07. Behind These Walls

08. Halloween

09. Masquerade Of Madness

10. Out From The Asylum

11.Welcome Home

12. The Invisible Guests

13. Sleepless Nights

14. The Lake

15. Burn

16. Black Horsemen

Earlier this month, KING DIAMOND released a new song called "Masquerade Of Madness". Mixed by Andy La Rocque and King Diamond at Sonic Train Studios, the track will appear on KING DIAMOND's first studio album in 12 years, "The Institute", which will be released in 2020 via Metal Blade Records.

King Diamond commented: "'Masquerade Of Madness' is one of the first KING DIAMOND studio songs in a long time. It will be featured on a future two-album horror concept story, of which the first part is titled 'The Institute'.

"The style is very classic KING DIAMOND with lots of dynamics and limited amounts of compression to achieve very natural sounding vocals and instruments throughout the song. You'll find some complex orchestrations, including the typical choir works you're used to hearing from KING DIAMOND, and a special thought process bringing vocals back to the forefront: 'All vocals are lead vocals.'

"Both Andy and I are presently working on several different songs with high potential for the upcoming album; all of which are absolute killers. We will continue this work when we're back from our North American tour in December, during which you can hear the live version of 'Masquerade Of Madness'. For now, we hope you'll enjoy the brand new studio version of 'Masquerade Of Madness'."

This past March, King Diamond told Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show that the next album from his namesake band will be "absolutely gruesome. The storyline is… well, it's in a way where I can't even put it into just one album," he said. "So, it has to be over two albums. And it's really planned out to work in a very special way with the show as well. So the show is being built right now in Denmark and it's built around that story, so that it really can go hand in hand. Right now, I already know how the production will develop for the next tour, after this tour, so that when we do part two of that story, I know how the whole thing ends, of course, already, and I know how the production is gonna change and how it's gonna be culminating in one very, very big thing. So it's a long project, several years. Actually, the next three years are gonna be very, very intense for us. There is a lot of things that is in the planning. Also, after we signed up with 5B [artist] management, a lot of good stuff is coming out of that, piece by piece. We are getting a plan that is gonna be amazing for our fans for the next three years — something that's gonna come that they would not expect, I think. So some very, very cool prospects.

"[The album] has something to do with parallel worlds and punishment, and other stuff like that. You'll see us torture our dear little Abigail on stage. It's part of the story; you'll see it. But it's great to be here enjoying life. And [my son] Byron, it's been almost two years now [since he was born], and it's incredible. But it hasn't changed me very much when it comes to what I stand for and the stories that's coming and the musical style that's coming. It's total, utter KING DIAMOND."

KING DIAMOND's next album is said to be a story set in a 1920s mental institution. "I chose that because I think it's a very creepy scenario," King told Full Metal Jackie. "And the thing is that I know that somebody has talked about that, but that's not the setting, actually. There's a lot of other things involved, but the setting looks as if it was a 1920s asylum — that's exactly what it looks like. And some of the things that go on that we're gonna show onstage is also things that certainly was going on back then, when medicine was beginning to take a beneficial turn in history and actually being able to help human beings live longer. But there was some experimentation going on, too, that was absolutely gruesome. Some of that is involved in the story, but it's something totally different. Once you get to the second part of the story, you will begin to suddenly understand that, 'What the hell is going on here? What is this really about?' 'Cause there's a whole different story that will not come to you till second part. But in the first part, you're gonna get to know a lot people at a certain place.

"Instead of telling the story — it's way too much — but some of it takes place here, this world, and some of it takes place in a parallel world. And there's a correlation between what happened to me and what happens to some people in this place and where they suddenly appear. And you will find out why they are there, how they appear there and the places down the road. I won't say too much right now, but it's gonna be very creepy."

KING DIAMOND received a Grammy nomination in the "Best Metal Performance" category for the track "Never Ending Hill" off the band's last album, 2007's "Give Me Your Soul … Please".

"Give Me Your Soul ... Please" sold 4,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 174 on The Billboard 200 chart.

KING DIAMOND released a DVD/Blu-ray, "Songs For The Dead Live", in January via Metal Blade Records. The set captures 1987's seminal "Abigail" album in its entirety, twice, and in very different locales: Belgium's Graspop Metal Meeting in June 2016 and Philadelphia's Fillmore in November 2015. The performances feature KING DIAMOND's current band, comprising of guitarists Andy LaRocque and Mike Wead, bassist Pontus Egberg and drummer Matt Thompson.

OPETH Releases Animated Short Film For 'Ingen Sanning Är Allas'

Swedish prog-metal/rock band OPETH has released a dark and eerie new animated video short for the Swedish-language track "Ingen Sanning Är Allas", from its recently released album "In Cauda Venenum". The video for the English version of the track, "Universal Truth", will be revealed next Monday.

The offbeat and beautifully crafted video short was created by renowned South African-born animator/artist Jess Cope ("Frankenweenie", "Metallica: Here Comes Revenge") and follows a melancholic and bitter man on the brink of self-destruction and insanity as he delves into a sinister alternate world as reality crumbles around him. Cope previously collaborated with OPETH's Mikael Åkerfeldt on the music video for "Drag Ropes" for his side project STORM CORROSION with Steven Wilson. Working mainly with traditional animation methods, her shorts have an enticingly tactile look and feel to them and are brought to life with an unprecedented level of skill and attention to detail. Her emotive storytelling draws in audiences in a way that has seen her win multiple awards for her films in recent years.

The video short precedes OPETH's upcoming 2020 North American tour that includes two nights at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York and performances at the renowned Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and at the famed Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

Released on September 27 via Moderbolaget / Nuclear Blast Entertainment, "In Cauda Venenum" landed at No. 13 on the U.K. chart and No. 5 on the German chart. The band's previous LP, 2016's "Sorceress", peaked at No. 11 on the U.K. chart, while 2014's "Pale Communion" entered the list at No. 14 and 2011's "Heritage" landed at No. 22.

Regarding the decision to release "In Cauda Venenum" in Swedish, OPETH mastermind Mikael Åkerfeldt told Revolver: "Doing it in Swedish was just an idea that popped into my head, like, 'Maybe I should fry my egg in the morning instead of boiling it.' It wasn't any deeper than that. And I figured the music climate has changed so much, does it really matter which language it's in? That was it. And it didn't have me writing more lyrics — it just had me writing more music. And the music didn't sound more Swedish or anything like that. But it was a gateway that opened, and it was fun.

Mikael added that he is "not regretting" the fact that "In Cauda Venenum" was also recorded in English. "A lot of people [in the U.S.] are saying they only listened to the English version," he said. "So I was proven right, in a way. I can say a thousand times that the Swedish version is the original version, but it's up to people to choose. I can just hope that they check out both versions. But I do think the Swedish version is slightly better — only because it was first. It's more innocent. With the English version, regardless of what you think about it, that's me trying to copy a vocal line I had done in another language. So it's less exciting to me."

FOLLOW THE CIPHER Introduce New Drummer DANIEL SJÖGREN

There is some news from the Follow The Cipher camp, who are currently working on the songwriting for their second studio album, which is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2020. Today, the band announces the departure of their drummer Karl Löfgren.

Karl Löfgren commented: "After some long consideration, I decided that I will not be the drummer for Follow The Cipher anymore. There’s no bad blood behind this decision, it’s just that we have different goals with our musicianship. I love playing drums, but doing it at a professional level with extensive touring and big visual concepts isn’t for me anymore. Happiness for me is playing double bass drums in a sweaty rehearsal room, doing a gig here and there at the local pub and since the end of July when my beautiful son was born, it’s also hanging out with him and my awesome fiancée. Follow The Cipher deserves to take it to the next level and to do so, they need a drummer that gives it a 100% and loves everything that FTC stands for. With that said, I love the whole crew and I will probably continue to do some work behind the scenes with Vlogs, drum tech work and more.

"To end this message, I would like to thank Ken, Viko, Linda & Jonas for all the good times we have had on and off stage, it has for sure been an overwhelming ride. Last but definitely not least would I like to thank everyone that has showed up to our shows, bought our music & merch, joined us at the merchandise booth after the shows, bought & made us gifts and freakin tattooed Follow The Cipher art on your bodies. YOU ARE FOR SURE AN AWESOME GROUP OF PEOPLE!

"Follow The Cipher has already found the new drummer that will bring the band to the next level, so I now pass the torch to the mighty Daniel Sjögren. Give him your warmest welcome!“

Daniel Sjögren adds: "It is with great pleasure and high expectations that I step into the role as the new drummer of Follow The Cipher! Actually, as some of you might know, I was a member of the band when it all started. However, certain circumstances led to an early departure. Anyway, I’ve been following the band‘s journey through the years and I also got the pleasure to tour with them. I absolutely love the music and being able to play songs live, that took their first breaths while I was still around, filled my heart with joy. That combined with masterpieces created by some of the best songwriters around was such an honour and a great experience! I can’t wait to hit the road with the guys once again! I would like to take the opportunity to wish Kalle all the best in the future! Him and I have been good friends for many years and we’ve kind of followed in each other’s footsteps. He’s a great guy and a killer drummer! I feel very humble about taking on the project he left and I hope to do so in the best way I possibly can. Also a huge thanks to Linda, Ken, Viko, and Jonas for giving me the opportunity to once again be a part of the Cipher Army - see you on the road!“

CANDLEMASS Issue Statement On Grammy Award Nomination - "We're Happy, Thrilled, Excited… And A Bit Shocked!"

Candlemass are truly the manifestation of pure doom metal. Early 2019 saw the release of their latest album, The Door To Doom, via Napalm Records - an offering that features an unforgettable pairing with legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi on the track “Astorolus - The Great Octopus”. The song has now been nominated for a 2020 Grammy Award in the “Best Metal Performance” category. This is the first nomination for the band and the first nomination for Napalm Records.

The Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on January 26 and broadcast on CBS.

Leif Edling of Candlemass says: “We are very proud and honoured to be nominated for a Grammy! Actually, a couple years ago, we said that the previous album would be the last one, yet here we are with a new record out plus Grammy talk. Wow! Proves that you should never give up. I must also take my hat off to Tony Iommi, who was kind enough to perform an amazing guitar solo on 'Astorolus - The Great Octopus'. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We're happy, thrilled, excited… and a bit shocked!”

Sebastian Münch, A&R Napalm Records, comments: "We are thrilled that Candlemass has been nominated for a Grammy Award for their track “Astorolus - The Great Octopus”, featuring the iconic Tony Iommi. This is the first nomination for them and for Napalm Records, so we couldn't be more excited. Congratulations, Candlemass!"

The Door To Doom unsurprisingly follows the plot line mastermind, songwriter and bass player Leif Edling established in the past years: epic world class doom metal that relies on slow mammoth riffing. With Johan Langquist's highly dramatic vocal style and the love for details, the band made this an epic album. The Door To Doom was produced by Marcus Jidell.

Candlemass are:

Leif Edling: Bass
Mats "Mappe" Björkman: Guitars
Jan Lindh: Drums
Lars "Lasse" Johansson: Guitars
Johan Langquist: Vocals

DESTRUCTION's SCHMIER Slams MÖTLEY CRÜE For 'Coming Back To Fool Their Poor Fans Again'

DESTRUCTION's Schmier has slammed MÖTLEY CRÜE for reuniting after previously completing what it claimed was its final tour.

The German thrash metal musician took to his Facebook page on Wednesday (November 20) to write: "So the the next 'farewell-tour' band is coming back to fool their poor fans again ... I am disgusted by such greed and fraud. If you charge a fortune and do a big drama farewell tour go FUCKING RETIRE FOR REAL!!! But it became a business idea meanwhile to fool the people that pay your rent ...sad, sad, sad!"

He then addressed his Facebook friends and followers: "What do you think? Are you more happy that your faves continue even if they suck live nowadays? Or do you feel fooled? I am clearly no2 Hahaha!!!"

CRÜE fans who shelled out for the band's 2014/2015 "farewell" tour were led to believe that the group would never return after playing its final show on December 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The band touted the signing of a pre-tour "cessation of touring" agreement as cementing the fact it truly was the end of CRÜE's life on the road.

On Monday (November 18) — only three years and 11 months after the band played its last show — CRÜE posted a video with Machine Gun Kelly, who portrayed Tommy Lee in the band's biopic "The Dirt", explaining that due to the band "becoming more popular than ever" and "gaining an entirely new legion of fans" in the four years they've been off the road, the band felt the need to blow up their previous contract in order to come out of retirement. That same day, Rolling Stone reported that MÖTLEY CRÜE will embark on a stadium tour with DEF LEPPARD and POISON in 2020. However, as of right now, no official announcement regarding the trek has been made.

MICHAEL SCHENKER - "My Rock God Is JEFF BECK"

In the audio clip below, guitar legend Michael Schenker reveals the artist he considers a rock god: Jeff Beck.

Schenker: "Jeff Beck has a way of doing things with his guitar that doesn't sound like anybody else. It's pure self-expression. That's what I do, but I don't play like him. I think it was the album Truth (1968) with Cozy Powell on it, I think. Rod Stewart was singing. I listened to it at my friend's place in Hannover, and I was walking home in the middle of the night, going like... 'One day, I'm gonna play like that!' I was so inspired."

Michael Schenker Fest's new album, Revelation, is available as CD digipak, 2LP (different colours) as well as a limited boxset incl. CD digipak, 2LP (red+black splatter), puzzle, poster 60x30, photo cards. Get your version here.

STEEL PANTHER Drummer Asks MICK MARS For Promised 'Free' MÖTLEY CRÜE Tickets

STEEL PANTHER drummer Stix Zadinia has asked Mick Mars for tickets to MÖTLEY CRÜE's upcoming reunion tour after a five-year-old video surfaced of the guitarist promising everyone "free" entry to the show.

In a newly posted clip from a 2014 episode of the now-defunct "That Metal Show", Mars is asked about the possibility of the CRÜE reuniting for more tours after promising that its 2014/2015 farewell run is really its last. Mars replies: "Let me put it this way: If that happens, I will invite the world to come for free."

On Friday (November 22), Zadinia — whose real name Darren Leader — took to his Twitter to write: "Seriously, Mick Mars offered free tickets to the world. Mick, can you put @Steel_Panther on the list? What time do you start? Where do I go? Will call? Do I get to see you before the show? Wanna go out afterwards? My friend has a strip bar near the venue!!!!!"

But nearly four years after that last show, the band posted a video explaining that due to the group "becoming more popular than ever" and "gaining an entirely new legion of fans" in the four years they've been off the road, the CRÜE is coming out of retirement. They will reportedly embark on a stadium tour with DEF LEPPARD and POISON in 2020, but that has yet to be officially confirmed.

STEEL PANTHER singer Michael Starr recently told The Front Row Report that he "knew" MÖTLEY CRÜE would eventually reunite. "I knew right when they signed it six years ago that this was going to happen down the road," he said. "It's just the way it is. They are too iconic of a band just to go away and never play again. Even when I heard the news [they were calling it quits], I was, like, 'Really? Don't do that. That sucks.' I would understand taking a break, but… I don't know, man. I'm not in their position. They've been rocking big time for 30, 40 years.

"I've gotta be honest with you, man," he continued. "I'm glad that they're coming back. And I'm glad they're touring with DEF and POISON. It's gonna be an epic tour that will get everyone excited about rock and roll and heavy metal again. And it's important. That's what we are trying to do."

Starr's comments came just a month after a war of words between STEEL PANTHER and MÖTLEY CRÜE broke out when Starr and Zadinia were asked in an interview which musician from the past they would like to bring back. Starr replied, "I'd bring back Vince Neil," and Zadinia chimed in, "He's not dead." Starr pressed on, saying: "I'd bring back Vince Neil from back in the day because that guy is dead."

After news of STEEL PANTHER's comments made the rounds, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx tweeted: "The singer in Steal Panther [sic] can go fuck himself … wanna-be band putting down Vince Neil?" One fan then pointed out that STEEL PANTHER sometimes plays MÖTLEY CRÜE songs during its concerts, to which Sixx replied, "That's why they are assholes. Backstabbers."

Back in 2014, Sixx told Rolling Stone about the chances of a CRÜE reunion: "There are people in this band who will refuse to ever do it again, and you're talking to one of them. There is no amount of money that would ever make me do it again because I have such pride in how we're ending it."

Seriously, Mick Mars offered free tickets to the world. Mick, can you put @Steel_Panther on the list? What time do you start? Where do I go? Will call? Do I get to see you before the show? Wanna go out afterwards? My friend has a strip bar near the venue!!!!!?
