METALLICA's LARS ULRICH Surprises JUANES With 'Person Of The Year' Award At 2019 LATIN GRAMMYS

METALLICA's Lars Ulrich presented Juanes with the Latin Recording Academy "Person Of The Year" award at last night's 20th annual Latin Grammys in Las Vegas.

The drummer made a surprise appearance after the Colombian singer/songwriter performed several of his greatest hits.

"[I met] Juanes years ago, after performing in Mexico," Ulrich said in English. "And I have keenly watched his music, his creativity and his radiant humanity soar across this beautiful planet. Then I learned he was a METALLICA fan… Now tonight, we come full circle. I proclaim myself a Juanes fan! Mi amigo, mi parcero, I'm proud to recognize you as Person of the Year from the Latin Recording Academy!"

This past July, Juanes performed the "Kill 'Em All" classic "Seek & Destroy" at the Rock Al Parque festival in Bogota, Colombia. Video footage of his rendition — complete with pyrotechnic displays — was posted online and it eventually caught the attention of the METALLICA members themselves. The San Francisco Bay Area heavy metal legends later took to Twitter to share a clip of the performance and wrote in an accompanying message: "We're blown away by the reception our friend @juanes received in Bogota for his awesome rendition of Seek!"

Last year, Juanes told The Philadelphia Inquirer about his early musical inspirations: "I came up in Colombia with folk music, singing with my parents and sisters. There were the rhythms of tango and bolero and cumbia. Those were my strongest influences. But when I was 13, I went crazy with rock music and became the biggest fan of METALLICA, SLAYER and SEPULTURA. I still love METALLICA. Today, I listen to many new artists and learn while staying connected to my roots. For instance, I love reeggaton. I hear that stuff from my kids. They teach new music all the time."

In a 2011 interview with The Washington Post, Juanes said that he "got crazy with rock music" when he was 13 years old. "I was a big fan of METALLICA, SLAYER, SEPULTURA, MEGADETH, all those guys. It was part of my life for 10 years, and then I was part of a metal band for a moment and then the band broke up and I moved to Los Angeles and started my career. Even if it doesn't have anything to do with metal music, there is always a little bit of those years in my music, always a little piece of attitude that I try to combine with the folk side."

MICK MARS In 2014 Interview: If MÖTLEY CRÜE Reunites For A Tour, 'I Will Invite The World To Come For Free'

A newly unearthed video clip of Mick Mars's 2014 appearance on the now-defunct "That Metal Show" finds the MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist discussing the possibility of band reuniting for more tours after the completion of its 2015 "final" trek. In the clip (see below), which was posted to Twitter by "That Metal Show" co-host Don Jamieson, Mars can be heard saying: "Let me put it this way: If that happens, I will invite the world to come for free."

"That Metal Show" co-host Eddie Trunk shared Jamieson's tweet and weighed in: "Wow! This is amazing ! What a fun episode this was with @mrmickmars @MotleyCrue ... but I totally forgot he said this.. until a caller reminded me today. well here's one tour that won't be expensive I guess #FreeTicketsToTheWorld thx to @ThatMetalShow !"

CRÜE fans who shelled out for the band's 2014/2015 "farewell" tour were led to believe that the group would never return after playing its final show on December 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The band touted the signing of a pre-tour "cessation of touring" agreement as cementing the fact it truly was the end of CRÜE's life on the road.

On Monday (November 18) — three years and 11 months after the band played its last show — CRÜE posted a video with Machine Gun Kelly, who portrayed Tommy Lee in the band's biopic "The Dirt", explaining that due to the band "becoming more popular than ever" and "gaining an entirely new legion of fans" in the four years they've been off the road, the band felt the need to blow up their previous contract in order to come out of retirement. That same day, Rolling Stone reported that MÖTLEY CRÜE will embark on a stadium tour with DEF LEPPARD and POISON in 2020. However, as of right now, no official announcement regarding the trek has been made.

Back in 2014, bassist Nikki Sixx told Rolling Stone that MÖTLEY CRÜE couldn't legally play again after the completion of the farewell tour. "The only loophole is if all four band members agreed to do it, we could override our own contract," he said. "But we know that will never happen. There are people in this band who will refuse to ever do it again, and you're talking to one of them. There is no amount of money that would ever make me do it again because I have such pride in how we’re ending it.

"If anybody ever — and I don't believe anybody ever would — would call any other bandmembers and say, 'Hey, it's been 10 years, let's just do 10 shows. A million a pop,' it could never happen unless all four bandmembers agreed," Sixx added. "And if we did agree, the way we've set it up — including this conversation right now — we'd have so much egg on our face. We have so much pride that that alone would stop it."

After the members of MÖTLEY CRÜE reunited last year to record four new songs for "The Dirt" film, some fans assumed that the group would be open to the idea of playing together again at a special event to promote the movie. But Sixx shot down the idea earlier this year, telling Rolling Stone: "Sometimes I look out at my friends, like the guys in AEROSMITH and METALLICA, and I'm, like, 'God damn it, did we retire too soon?' But there will be no one-offs in our future. Maybe we'll just get together and jam in [guitarist] Mick Mars's front room."

Wow! This is amazing ! What a fun episode this was with @mrmickmars @MotleyCrue ... but I totally forgot he said this.. until a caller reminded me today. well here’s one tour that won’t be expensive I guess #FreeTicketsToTheWorld thx to @ThatMetalShow ! https://t.co/HbjfKBDhjH

PHIL VARONE Slams MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'So-Called Fans' For Being Angry Over Band's Return

Former SKID ROW and SAIGON KICK drummer Phil Varone has slammed MÖTLEY CRÜE's "so-called fans" who have expressed their anger over the band's decision to reunite. CRÜE fans who shelled out for the band's 2014/2015 "farewell" tour were led to believe that the group would never return after playing its final show on December 2015 at the Forum in Los Angeles. The band touted the signing of a pre-tour "cessation of touring" agreement as cementing the fact it truly was the end of CRÜE's life on the road.

On Monday (November 18), CRÜE posted a video with Machine Gun Kelly, who portrayed Tommy Lee in the band's biopic "The Dirt", explaining that due to the band "becoming more popular than ever" and "gaining an entirely new legion of fans" in the four years they've been off the road, the band felt the need to blow up their previous contract in order to come out of retirement.

On Tuesday (November 19), Varone took to his Facebook page to write: "After the MÖTLEY CRÜE tour announcement, I was disgusted by the resentment and anger of so-called fans.

"My 3 Cents: If you're angry that a band is going to tour, even after a farewell tour, then you're not a fan. A fan would embrace the chance to see their favorite band again, no matter what circumstances surround it.

"Bands are very complicated. Being in a band is a full-time job, even when not touring or recording.

"I don't expect fans to understand the dynamic of keeping a band functioning, or functional, but it's a lot harder than you think. A band is made up of band members, each with different personalities, different influences, different goals, different addictions, different problems, different egos, and different ideas. Some members will evolve with age, and some will stay assholes for life. Some may see their part in situations, and some continue to blame others. In many cases, a band or a musician will make rash decisions out of survival and self-preservation. As time passes and tempers calm, a once bad situation may not look that bad when seen though the lucid mind. When that happens, the fans get the greatest gift of all; their favorite band back.

"If you love music, if you love MÖTLEY CRÜE, if you love concerts, then you're getting the greatest gift of all.

"I will never, ever, ever, ever understand how someone using the moniker of 'Fan' can be angry about MÖTLEY CRÜE touring again. Contrary to popular belief, a band has enough problems dealing with the band than trying to mastermind a plan to betray its fans. The only betrayal I see is from the so-called fans talking shit about the band. For that, shame on you."

On Monday, Rolling Stone reported that MÖTLEY CRÜE will reunite for a stadium tour with DEF LEPPARD and POISON in 2020. However, as of right now, no official announcement regarding the trek has been made.

This past March, Varone announced his retirement from drumming. He is currently working on an autobiographical movie called "30 Yrs A Drummer", tentatively slated for a March 2020 release.

STEEL PANTHER's MICHAEL STARR On MÖTLEY CRÜE Reunion: 'I Knew It Was Comin''

STEEL PANTHER singer Michael Starr has commented on the report that MÖTLEY CRÜE will reunite for a stadium tour with DEF LEPPARD and POISON in 2020.

Speaking to The Front Row Report, Starr stated about CRÜE's return (hear audio below): "I knew it was comin'. I knew right when they signed it six years ago that this was going to happen down the road. It's just the way it is. They are too iconic of a band just to go away and never play again. Even when I heard the news [they were calling it quits], I was, like, 'Really? Don't do that. That sucks.' I would understand taking a break, but… I don't know, man. I'm not in their position. They've been rocking big time for 30, 40 years.

"I've gotta be honest with you, man," he continued. "I'm glad that they're coming back. And I'm glad they're touring with DEF and POISON. It's gonna be an epic tour that will get everyone excited about rock and roll and heavy metal again. And it's important. That's what we are trying to do.

"I don't know if people realize this, but MÖTLEY CRÜE retired and we kept going. We're not stopping trying to bring heavy metal back. And now, look — they're back. I'm not gonna say it's because of us. I'm just saying that we… Fuck, yeah, it's because of us. We're bringing heavy metal back."

Starr's comments come just a month after a war of words between STEEL PANTHER and MÖTLEY CRÜE broke out when Starr and PANTHER drummer Stix Zadinia were asked in a recent interview which musician from the past they would like to bring back. Starr replied, "I'd bring back Vince Neil," and Zadinia chimed in, "He's not dead." Starr pressed on, saying: "I'd bring back Vince Neil from back in the day because that guy is dead."

After news of STEEL PANTHER's comments made the rounds, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx tweeted: "The singer in Steal Panther [sic] can go fuck himself … wanna-be band putting down Vince Neil?" One fan then pointed out that STEEL PANTHER sometimes plays MÖTLEY CRÜE songs during its concerts, to which Sixx replied, "That's why they are assholes. Backstabbers."

This was not the first time members of STEEL PANTHER and MÖTLEY CRÜE have traded barbs. In 2017, Zadinia said that his band "really felt unwelcome" during its tour with MÖTLEY CRÜE several years ago. The drummer, whose real name is Darren Leader, told Music Life Magazine: "[MÖTLEY CRÜE members] Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx did not like it when we went on tour with them in 2011. And that was the only time that we really felt unwelcome. The thing with those guys is I think they thought we were actually making fun of them directly. And I just gotta chalk that up to their egos being too big, because nothing that we do has anything to do with them directly. But we ended up doing the tour and it went off great and everything was totally fine," he said, adding that it was a European tour and that DEF LEPPARD was actually the top-billed band on the jaunt.

Sixx told Australia's Music Feeds in 2016 that he didn't care for STEEL PANTHER's music. "You know, it's not my thing," he said. "That's just me personally. I don't know. It doesn't feel… I guess a lot of people think it's funny and they're kind of a joke band and that's cool. But that's not my cup of tea. I kind of take my music a little more seriously."

Back in June 2015, Starr revealed in an interview that Lee "was pretty upset over the fact we poked fun at Vince Neil. He didn't like it. He just thinks we're just a joke, like a stupid joke band that shouldn't be playing with them. But all their fans like us."

Starr added that members of MÖTLEY CRÜE simply "take themselves a little too serious," except for Vince Neil, who "totally loves it."

"You know, he told me, 'Hey, Michael, when we retire, you can have all our fans,'" Starr said.

Last year, STEEL PANTHER guitarist Satchel acknowledged that not everyone is a fan of his group's over-the-top, juvenile sex-and-drugs schtick. "There are bands that hate our guts," he told Meltdown of the WRIF radio station. "We did a tour a few years ago with DEF LEPPARD and MÖTLEY CRÜE. And DEF LEPPARD, they got us on the tour, and it was an arena tour in the U.K. And they love us — they were so nice and so cool. And MÖTLEY CRÜE was on the tour, and they hated us. They wanted to kill us — every night they wanted to kill us. They talked to us, like, once the whole tour. And Tommy Lee and I, we just got into it — we butted heads a lot. 'Cause Tommy Lee… I don't know why he hates us so much. Listen, I extended the olive branch. I wanted to be friends with them. I think some people feel threatened. I think maybe Tommy Lee feels like we're poking fun at him personally. But we're just having fun… And someday maybe MÖTLEY CRÜE will be our friends, but I think Tommy Lee would love it if one of us got hit by a bus."

MÖTLEY CRÜE's TOMMY LEE Revisits His Former 'MTV Cribs' Home That Was Destroyed By California Fires (Video)

The Malibu home MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee proudly played docent for in a classic 2000 episode of "MTV Cribs" has apparently been completely destroyed in the recent California wildfires.

On Friday, Lee took to his Instagram to post several photos and a video of the former six-bedroom, six-bathroom house built in 1991, along with the caption: "Don't know who seen my old Malibu home on @mtv mtv_cribs here's what's left of it after the fires"

The Spanish villa-style home was reportedly built for Lee and his then-wife, actress Pamela Anderson, and was later owned by BOYS DON'T CRY frontman Nick Richards.

According to a February 2018 Los Angeles Times article, the estate had been shopped on and off since Richards sold the property in 2015 for $2.2 million.

In the aforementioned "MTV Cribs" episode, Tommy could be seen highlighting certain areas of the house such as the disco in the basement and the tropical-themed swimming pool and bragging about unique features likes his own professionally installed Starbucks cappuccino machine and a sex swing in his bedroom.

Tommy was married to Pamela from 1995 to 1998. They have two sons together, 23-year-old Brandon and 21-year-old Dylan.

Lee married his fourth wife, Brittany Furlan, in February. The pair started dating and fell in love in 2017.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's MICK MARS Guests On BLACK SMOKE TRIGGER EP (Audio)

MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars makes a guest appearance in the song "The Way I'm Wired" from BLACK SMOKE TRIGGER, a four-piece hard rock band from New Zealand. The track can be found on BLACK SMOKE TRIGGER's recently released EP, "Set It Off", which was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Michael Wagener (OZZY OSBOURNE, ACCEPT, WARRANT, SKID ROW) at WireWorld Studio in Nashville, Tennessee.

BLACK SMOKE TRIGGER takes influences from legendary acts such as ALICE IN CHAINS and GUNS N' ROSES and mixes in its own style. The band's debut single, "Caught In The Undertow", was released in August.

This past September, Mars told Billboard that he hoped to release his solo album in early 2020. The effort is being recorded in Nashville, where Mars has lived for about six years, with Wagener at Blackbird Studio.

Back in 2016, Mars released snippets of two solo songs, apparently called "Gimme Blood" and "Shake The Cage". The tracks, which were recorded at Blackbird Studio, featured singer John Corabi, who appeared on CRÜE's 1994 self-titled album. Corabi later said that he didn't contribute to the writing process for the two songs, but that he was open to collaborating with Mars on some brand new material.

Last week, MÖTLEY CRÜE announced that it was reuniting less than four years after completing what was billed as the band's final tour.

Mick Mars from Mötley Crüe stopped by the studio today. Got a surprise on one of our new tracks ;)

METAL DE FACTO Featuring ENSIFERUM, EVERFROST Members Streaming “Legionnaires’ Oath” Lyric Video; Debut Album Out Now

Finnish power metallers Metal De Facto have released their debut album Imperium Romanum via Rockshots Records in Europe. A North American release is due December 13.

To celebrate the event, the band has also released the lyric video for “Legionnaires' Oath,” streaming below:

Singer Mikael Salo and bass player Sami Hinkka comment about the song, "'Legionnaires' Oath' talks about the legionnaires, heavy infantrymen of the Roman army who were revered as some of the most feared warriors at the time. It delves into the mindset of these soldiers, and the oath that they took to serve Rome for at least 25 years, the loyalty and the mental fortitude it required. Musically, 'Legionnaires' Oath' boasts a powerful pounding drum beat paired with a commanding lead guitar melody. The chorus then explodes to an epic choir that speaks of military might and conquest, both sorrowful yet glorious!"

Imperium Romanum was recorded, mixed and mastered at Goodman Studios and Tadaa Music Studio by Esa Orjatsalo. The artwork was created by the renowned Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák (Blind Guardian'sTwilight Orchestra, Stratovarius, Accept, Grave Digger, Powerwolf). The album also features a spoken word by Maurizio Iacono (Kataklysm, Ex-Deo) in the last song, "Germanicus."

Metal De Facto was formed in late 2017 by Esa Orjatsalo (ex-Dreamtale) and Sami Hinkka (Ensiferum), who had met and discussed the deeper meanings of power metal on Ensiferum's tour bus. The lineup was soon completed with Atte Marttinen (ex-Kivimetsän Druidi), Benji Connelly (Everfrost), Mikko Salovaara (Leverage) and Mikael Salo (Everfrost). The band promises to "Make Power Metal Great Again" with their powerful sound and epic concepts that deal with different historical themes and mythologies.

The idea was that every album would have a theme based on a certain country's/culture's history and mythology. The debut album will deal with the Roman Empire and the many tales, true stories and philosophies associated with it. Each song is about a different aspect of this grand topic, and while being enjoyable as escapist storytelling in itself, also delves into the mindset of the different characters and people from whose perspectives the songs are written.

Tracklisting:

“The Conqueror”
“Legionnaires’ Oath”
“Naturalis Historia”
“Inferno”
“Bacchanalia”
“Echoes In Eternity”
“Colosseum”
“Ides Of March”
“The Ascending Of Jupiter”
“Germanicus” (feat. Maurizio Iacono)

New Messiah, featuring C. Will Harden on guitars and Craig Cefola (Dukes, Wheelhouse Junction) on drums, have released their debut album, Voice Of Choice. A video for a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” featuring former Exodus singer Rob Dukes is available below.

Voice Of Choice includes 20 cover songs that showcase several singers including drummer Tom Hunting (Exodus). Tom hand picked the Stevie Wonder classic “You Haven’t Done Nothin’” as a song he always wanted to cover, along with three others including The Bus Boys’ “Boys Are Back In Town”, Jerry Reed’s “East Bound And Down” and The Time’s “Jungle Love” that also sparked the interest of Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels. Darryl wrote his part in that song and helped to open the album with this original take on Morris Day’s classic from the Prince film Purple Rain.

Rob Dukes (Exodus, Generation Kill, Fragile Mortals) also lends his vocals to tracks. Rob can be heard on the Judas Priest classic “Turbo Lover”, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” and Tom Petty’s “Refugee”, all songs hand picked by Dukes who has worked with life long friend Craig Cefola for decades. Rob was instrumental in helping to get this project off the ground and brought in some of these amazing vocalists to help make this unique collection of covers a reality.

Jack Gibson (Exodus, Testament) and Craig Cefola share their respect for Jerry Reed on “East Bound And Down” from the film “Smokey And The Bandit”. Jack plays bass on the track and also performs the song with his side band (Coffin Hunter).

Venezuelan rocker Deibys Artigas is featured on “Hell Is For Children”, “Call Me”, “The Final Countdown”, the Spanish classic “Bailando” and the Billy Joel masterpiece “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant”, a song that took the band several months to create. Piano parts were turned into Acoustic Guitar, while Saxophone and Clarinet morphs into ripping lead guitar solos.

Tbilisi-based vocalist Esté is featured on “Hot Stuff”, “Our Lips Are Sealed”, “Reach Out” and The Cars classic “Moving In Stereo”. She was the first vocalist on the project and inspired the band to expand the collection to a full album release.

Mitch Saul (Kick Start Charlie) brings his unique vocal stylings to “Holiday Road” from the film “National Lampoon’s Vacation”. The band tried out several singers before finally finding the right voice for this rarely covered Lindsey Buckingham classic.

James Arthur (Wheelhouse Junction) pays tribute to Johnny Cash for the hard rock version of “Folsom Prison Blues”.

Finally, New Messiah guitarist C. Will Harden get’s his chance to shine vocally on Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman”.

This unique collection of covers brings together a special group of excellent talent and pays tribute to these vocalist’s favorite songs. Be sure and check out the album tracks on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play and many streaming services. An album preview can be found below.

PASSION Feat. Former NIGHT BY NIGHT Singer Streaming New Song "Too Bad For Baby"

Passion will release their self-titled debut album on January 24 via Frontiers Music Srl. Pre-order the album here, and listen to the song "Too Bad For Baby", below.

Passion is a new British hard rock band inspired by the 80’s and 90’s giants of the genre. First single, “Trespass On Love” was actually the first song written for the album and the spark that ignited singer Lion Ravarez (aka Dan Rossall) to start the band. "It was from here that I decided to go on and assemble Passion as a band and produce our debut album,” says Lion. "The song is perhaps a little more mellow than the rest of the album, but it's certainly rich with influences that hail from the melodic rock and AOR genres. We wanted our first music video to showcase Passion's attitude and sense of humour, it's very tongue-in-cheek. We hope that anyone new who discovers us will understand that we just want to put a smile on their face. The music video was directed by Jay Hillyer and we shot the footage at Impossible Nightclub in Manchester, UK."

The concept behind Passion is simple: great musicianship, great songwriting, memorable melodies and hooks, serve the song first. "In addition to this,” continues Lion, "we wanted to create an act using fictional characters (hence the names) as we feel humour is positive, after all this is the entertainment industry. Don't let that confuse you though, we're not a joke band. We're deeply passionate about creating high quality rock music and we're also very enthusiastic about entertaining an audience.”

Passion play straight up melodic hard rock, with bold and excitable hooks and alluring musicality. "We love soulful vocals with razor sharp highs, memorable guitar riffs, and tasteful solos. If you like "songs", then you'll enjoy Passion. I'm confident that we can make a mark on the rock and metal scenes the world over, it just takes time, but we’re gonna get there, I promise,” concludes Lion.

Passion tracklisting:

"Trespass On Love"
"Too Bad For Baby"
"Lost In The Dark"
"Back"
"Victims Of Desire"
"We Do What We Want"
"Built To Please"

PINK FLOYD Streaming "Sorrow" (2019 Remix); The Later Years Box Set Out Now

In support of their just released box set, The Later Years, Pink Floyd are streaming the 2019 remix of the song, "Sorrow". Listen below:

The Later Years is a 16-disc set (5xCDs, 6xBlu-Rays, 5xDVDs) covering the material created by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright from 1987 onwards.

The period generated record sales of over 40 million worldwide and included three studio albums: A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, The Division Bell and The Endless River as well as two live albums: Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse. With additional production from David Gilmour and Andy Jackson, over 13 hours of unreleased audio and audiovisual material, including the sought-after 1989 Venice and 1990 Knebworth concerts, Pink Floyd The Later Years is a must for all fans.

A multi-media, deluxe box set, Pink Floyd The Later Years presents an expanded view of the Pink Floyd story from 1987 to the present and kicks off with A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, the album that confirmed Pink Floyd as one of the world’s biggest artists.

The album, presented for the first time in 5.1, has been remixed and updated by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson. The release of The Later Years project gives an opportunity for a fresh overview of the A Momentary Lapse Of Reason album. By returning to some of Richard Wright’s keyboard parts and recording new drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin have restored the creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members.

Throughout 1987 and 1988 the band’s live shows became the largest-grossing concert tour ever to that date and produced the critically acclaimed, Grammy Award nominated, Delicate Sound Of Thunder. Filmed at the Nassau Coliseum in New York State, the concert shows the band on the top of their form. The concert has been fully re-edited and upgraded from the original 35mm film negatives by Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell and Benny Trickett and the sound remixed to 5.1. It also includes "Terminal Frost" and "Welcome To The Machine", two tracks that were not included on the original concert film release. For the first time the concert is available in 5.1 on Blu-ray and DVD.

Two of the most sought-after additions to Pink Floyd The Later Years are the 1989 Venice Concert, performed on a floating stage in front of St Mark’s Square, and the 1990 Silver Clef Winners performance at Knebworth. Both concerts, previously unreleased, are now available on both DVD and Blu-ray (145mins). The momentous Knebworth concert saw Pink Floyd topping the all-star bill (that included Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, Genesis, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Tears For Fears), in aid of the Nordoff Robbins charity, profits from which went towards setting up the BRIT School. David Gilmour and Andy Jackson have remixed the audio from this iconic concert and all seven tracks performed on the day (with guest musicians including sax player Candy Dulfer, the original The Great Gig In The Sky vocalist Clare Torry, keyboard player Michael Kamen and Sam Brown with her mother, Vicki, on vocals), are released here as well as for the first time ever on CD.

1994’s album The Division Bell sold over 12 million copies, having debuted at No 1 in the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. It stayed at the top of the US charts for 4 weeks, and also went to No 1 in six other countries. The resulting tour was captured and recorded for the concert release Pulse. This release contains the entire Pulse live concert film, re-edited and upgraded from the original masters, from the groundbreaking Earl’s Court gigs, and available for the first time on Blu-ray. Also uncovered for the first time is footage of the band in rehearsals on October 20, 1994 performing "A Great Day For Freedom" and "Lost For Words".

In 2014, Pink Floyd released The Endless River, comprising mostly instrumental and ambient music based on material recorded during The Division Bell sessions. Featuring David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, additional material was recorded in 2013 and 2014, with one song, "Louder Than Words", with lyrics by author & novelist Polly Samson (the primary lyricist for The Division Bell album). The Endless River became the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon UK and debuted at number one in several countries. The vinyl edition was the fastest-selling UK vinyl release since 1997. Included here for the first time is the never previously seen specially commissioned full 52-minute The Endless River film by Ian Emes, famed for his work with Pink Floyd, including his animations for "One Of These Days", "Speak To Me", "Time" and "On The Run".

Rounding off the package are hours of unreleased bonus materials including music videos, documentary footage, bonus live tracks, upgraded tour screen films and documentaries. It includes the first ever release, on Blu-ray, DVD and 7” vinyl, of the last live performance of Pink Floyd with David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright together in 2007. This special performance of Arnold Layne took place at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert at The Barbican on 10 May 2007. The full set boasts previously unreleased or remixed audio, plus restored, remastered and re-edited audio-visuals including unreleased concert footage and promo clips.

With the help of Nick Mason and the Pink Floyd archive, the box set comes with reproductions of tour artwork, posters, programmes, tour laminates, lyric book and much more including two 7” vinyl singles, (the live version of "Arnold Layne" performed at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert in 2007 and "Lost For Words" from the Pulse tour rehearsals at Earl’s Court), in new picture sleeves and etched image B-sides. Also included is a brand new 60-page hardback book of photos, designed by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis and Peter Curzon of StormStudios, including many previously unseen images.

The 5 CDs are encased in their own 40-page hardback book with an extensive guide to all content, tracklists and credits.

THE WHO Release Rare Promo Video For 1982 Classic "Eminence Front"

A live promo film for the US single "Eminence Front", taken from The Who’s 1982 album It’s Hard, is available for streaming below. The clip was filmed during a rehearsal at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland on September 22, 1982.

The Who have one of the greatest rock legacies in music history, they’re one of the all-time great live bands, have sold over 100 million records world including nine US and ten UK top ten albums and 14 UK top ten singles in a career spanning six decades.

Now 55 years after they made their first recordings, The Who are back with their first new album in thirteen years, entitled WHO, due for release on December 6 via Polydor Records. Pre-order WHO here.

The eleven-track album was mostly recorded in London and Los Angeles during spring and summer 2019 and was co-produced by Pete Townshend and D. Sardy (who has worked with Noel Gallagher, Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, Gorillaz) with vocal production by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Roger Daltrey, Wilko Johnson).

Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend are joined on the album by long-time Who drummer Zak Starkey and bassist Pino Palladino along with contributions from Simon Townshend, Benmont Tench, Carla Azar, Joey Waronker and Gordon Giltrap.

The artwork for WHO (see below) was unveiled last night in New York at the opening of the brand new eight-storey Pace contemporary art gallery where the band also performed a short acoustic set. The album cover has been created by famed Pop artist, Sir Peter Blake who first met the band in 1964 at a taping of the legendary TV show Ready Steady Go! Sir Peter designed and contributed a painting for the sleeve of The Who’s album Face Dances in 1981.

The songs on WHO cover a myriad of subjects including the Grenfell Tower fire, musical theft, spirituality, reincarnation, the power of memory and ‘an old rock star that has lost his marbles’. Singer Roger Daltrey rates it amongst their strongest “I think we’ve made our best album since Quadrophenia in 1973, Pete hasn’t lost it, he’s still a fabulous songwriter, and he’s still got that cutting edge.”

Pete Townshend: “This album is almost all new songs written last year, with just two exceptions. There is no theme, no concept, no story, just a set of songs that I (and my brother Simon) wrote to give Roger Daltrey some inspiration, challenges and scope for his newly revived singing voice. Roger and I are both old men now, by any measure, so I’ve tried to stay away from romance, but also from nostalgia if I can. I didn’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Memories are OK, and some of the songs refer to the explosive state of things today. I made new home studio demos of all these songs in the summer of 2018 using a wide collection of instruments old and new. We started recording as The Who in March 2019, and have finished now in late August just in time to make some vinyl... maybe even some cassettes... ready for release in November.”

BLAZE OF PERDITION To Release The Harrowing Of Hearts Album In February; "Transmutation Of Sins" Music Video Posted

On February 14, Blaze Of Perdition will release their new album, The Harrowing Of Hearts, via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of The Harrowing Of Hearts, the video for the first single, "Transmutation Of Sins", can be seen below.

The record can be pre-ordered here in the following formats:

- digipak-CD
- 180g black vinyl (EU exclusive)
- blue violet marbled vinyl (limited to 200 copies)
- pale yellow green vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- blue / red swirl vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 100 copies)
- clear grey-brown marbled w/ golden glitter (EU exclusive - limited to 100 copies)

* exclusive bundles with shirts, plus digital options are also available

Existing at the forefront of the Polish black metal movement, Blaze Of Perdition return with their fifth full-length, The Harrowing Of Hearts - their most urgent, refined, dynamic and accomplished work to date. Richly layered, it is also their most textured release, and they dive ever deeper into the themes they have been exploring since dropping their debut full-length in 2010, Towards The Blaze Of Perdition.

"I would say the new record is to 2017's Conscious Darkness what [2011's] The Hierophant was for Towards The Blaze Of Perdition - a continuation of the initial idea, but in more energetic and catchy form. Perhaps more approachable and listener-friendly, but it's not up to me to decide," states vocalist Sonneillon. "Although some gothic rock influences could be heard on Conscious Darkness, here we took them out of the shadows and let them shine in the spotlight. It's also our most collectively written effort so far, with every band member throwing something meaningful to the whole."

Working with the same producer they've been teaming with since 2013 and with artwork designed by Izabela Grabda, every aspect of The Harrowing Of Hearts has come together as intended, and with Metal Blade now behind them, the band are now ready to work their asses off to spread their name ever further. It's also safe to say the members of Blaze Of Perdition don't feel like they have anything to prove going into 2020.

"To me, art isn't about proving anything to anyone, it's about the expression of whatever one wants to express and channeling emotions and/or abstract concepts into something perceptible, something that might turn out to be just as precious for others. Focusing on proving anything to anyone usually doesn't do any good for artistic endeavours."

The Harrowing Of Hearts tracklisting:

"Suffering Made Bliss"
"With Madman's Faith"
"Transmutation Of Sins"
"Królestwo Niebieskie"

THREADS OF FATE Featuring REDEMPTION Keyboardist VIKRAM SHANKAR Post Acoustic Cover Of NIGHTWISH Dark Passion Play Track "For The Heart I Once Had"

Redemption keyboardist Vikram Shankar has checked in with the following:

"Threads Of Fate tackles Nightwish acoustically! Check out Jon Pyres' silky smooth delivery on this one."

Threads Of Fate, featuring Shankar on keys, orchestrations and bass, released their debut EP, A Funeral For The Virtuous, on November 23rd, 2018. The tracklist is as follows:

"The Skeleton Key"
"The Reaping"
"Blackhearted Serenade"
"A Funeral For The Virtuous"

The band issued the following update upon release:

"The Reaping begins! Here is the first taste of ‘A Funeral for the Virtuous’, available on all major platforms.

As the very first piece written for this release, 'The Reaping' explores the concept of being fueled by anger and the desire for revenge, surrendering to one’s darkest impulses, and how tragedy affects and shapes human nature."

Conceived during the summer of 2017, Threads Of Fate began as the brainchild of John Pyres. Driven to create music that combined the bombastic, dramatic nature of cinematic music with the aggressive elements of metal, along with emotional, deeply personal lyrics inspired by the human experience, John enlisted the talents of Jack Kosto (Seven Spires) on guitars and Vikram Shankar (Redemption, Lux Terminus, Our Destiny) on keyboards and orchestrations. Once enough material had been written, the songs for the debut EP, A Funeral For The Virtuous, came to light and were recorded during the summer of 2018, with a release slated for November.

The cover art was designed and created by the one and only Xenoyr of Ne Obliviscaris.

Watch SAMMY HAGAR Perform Acoustic Version Of VAN HALEN's 'Right Now' At Grammy Museum

On November 19, Sammy Hagar stopped by the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles for an in-depth conversation with moderator Scott Goldman, followed by a stripped-down acoustic performance.

Several photos of the performance portion of the event can be found at California Rock News. Also available below is video footage of Hagar's acoustic rendition of the VAN HALEN classic "Right Now".

Sammy recently told writer Clay Marshall that he would love to reunite with VAN HALEN for one show.

"If there was ever going to be one reunion — I'd say, you've got one more shot, one more; you're going to put the guys together — it would be VAN HALEN," he said. "Not for a tour; not to make a record; not to go on and on and on, because I don't think we're there. I don't think I can be in the same head space as those guys personally. We're in different head spaces, so I don't think we could create well together, but just one time for the good time? VAN HALEN, number one, hands down. If I said I've only got one more show left in my whole life, who would you want [it] to be [with]? Eddie [Van Halen], Alex [Van Halen] and Michael [Anthony]."

He continued: "The good times and the stuff we made in the band, it was the peak of my life, musical life, career. It was during the MTV [era] — the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll that was the most... People idolized that lifestyle. You ask any actor from that era, 'What would you want to be?' 'I want to be a rock star. Those guys are having all the fun, making all the money.' That was VAN HALEN. MONTROSE, we never made it. It was a struggle; it was fun; it was lovely; I loved it. The first record, one of the greatest records I ever made in my life. Then, solo stuff — hey, it's great. I hit it big time. Double arenas, a couple stadiums here and there. But VAN HALEN — we hit it. All number ones; sell out every frickin' show you'd ever play in your life anywhere, any sized building in the world. It allowed me to build Cabo Wabo [tequila]; it allowed me to be a household name long enough to say, 'I think I'll keep a face in that house. I may have to do it on a TV show — whatever I've got to do...'"

Hagar replaced David Lee Roth in VAN HALEN in 1985 and recorded four studio albums with the band — "5150", "OU812", "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" and "Balance" — all of which topped the U.S. chart.

Hagar, Anthony, Alex and Eddie Van Halen last teamed up in 2004 for a U.S. summer tour. In exchange for taking part in the tour, Anthony reportedly had to agree to take a pay cut and sign away his rights to the band name and logo.

Is FAITH NO MORE Plotting Another Comeback?

**UPDATE** FAITH NO MORE's web site now features a countdown clock that is scheduled to hit zero on Tuesday (November 26) at 11:00 a.m. PT / 2:00 p.m. ET.

Could FAITH NO MORE be making another comeback?

Four years after the release of the group's acclaimed reunion album, "Sol Invictus", FAITH NO MORE has updated its social media pages with a cryptic image featuring the band's eight-pointed star logo superimposed over a snow-covered mountain top. The group captioned the image, "psssst..."

The influential influential alt-metal act initially reunited for touring purposes in 2009, twelve years after issuing its previous studio set, "Album Of The Year", and followed that up with the aforementioned "Sol Invictus".

Last year, keyboardist Roddy Bottum said that he had been making new music with his FAITH NO MORE bandmates Mike Bordin and Billy Gould.

"I will periodically go to San Francisco and make music with those guys," he told "The Ring, The Cage, And The Stage". "What we do is a really special, unique thing that we kind of share — especially like me and Mike Bordin and Billy… We were super young — we were, like, 18 [or] 19 years old — when we started making music, so we kind of get in the room and we have a language that speaks really loud and really clear, at least to the three of us. I mean, where it goes is questionable, but we have sort of a language that's kind of undeniable in a really sort of family sense. And I think we all acknowledge that it's not something that any of us wanna turn our backs on, and it's kind of fun to do. So in the hopes of pushing things forward and making new music, we continue to do that, to get together and make new sounds and just have a dialogue about prospects and songs and where we go in the future."

In 2017, FAITH NO MORE singer Mike Patton told Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show that the band was "on an extended break." He added: "And if something happens, it'll happen organically and naturally. But I kind of don't think it will. I kind of feel like we've tipped the scales a little bit. But we'll see. Who knows? I've learned my lesson not to say 'no.'"

Patton stressed that he didn't close the door on any future shows with FAITH NO MORE. "It's one of those things. It's kind of like going to a family reunion, and you get along with your uncle, and then you're, like, 'Oh, we're gonna go to the next barbecue. Okay. Fine,'" he said. "I mean, that's really the way it is with us."

Chuck Mosley, who sang on FAITH NO MORE's first two albums, died in November 2017 "due to the disease of addiction," according to a statement from his family. He was 57.

psssst...

VANDALLUS Featuring MIDNIGHT Members – “Outbreak” Video Streaming

U.S. hard rock / metal band, Vandallus, will release their third powerhouse album Outbreak on December 12, 2019 digital, CD and vinyl via Mercinary Records. It's all about classic dynamic recordings with a real live drummer, no pitch shifting, and no crushed or fake elements. New video for the title track is streaming below.

The album was produced by CrazyV and Vanik. Recorded at Mercinary Studios (Avon, OH). Mixed and mastered by CrazyV. Production asisstant Noah C. Buchanan.

Vandallus from Cleveland, Ohio feature two thirds of the mighty Midnight in their line-up. Vandallus is Jason’s baby “aka CrazyV”, Midnight boss Jamie Walters also wrote a few songs to kickstart the debut album On The High Side (2016) via High Roller Records. The idea came about of making an album in the vein of late 1970s/early 1980s hard rock. Being that there was a significant amount of underground buzz about the music, it had become a functioning band.

The sound of On The High Side is a very direct and sort of old school sound, according to Jason, that’s exactly how it was originally planned: “The main vibe with this band is all about capturing an era that won't be forgotten, just straight forward old school hard rock without the BS. I had the debut album mastered by Arnie Acosta (Santa Monica Mastering) whom worked on many of the classic productions of that time. The follow-up album Bad Disease was recorded live in the studio and released in 2018, and now here comes the third powerhouse Outbreak ready to be unleashed upon the world. “I'm all about classic dynamic recordings with a real live drummer, no pitch shifting, and no crushed or fake elements.”

Vandallus are very much motivated to play live as often as they can. Generally, we like to stick to more festival-type shows because we like to put on a full out energetic performance without cutting any corners. The ‘80s is an era that I'm truly inspired by, and through the music we're trying to get the upcoming generations to be as inspired as I am. Our goal is to get the younger kids to see the energy and vibe, and experience what the classic shows were all about.

A SOUND OF THUNDER Create Theme Song For RAI Comics; Lyric Video Streaming

A Sound Of Thunder has joined forces with writer Dan Abnett to unleash a theme song for RAI, the cyborg samurai from the comics published by Valiant Entertainment. A preview of the song was previously released, but now the full lyric video is available:

Featuring lyrics by the acclaimed comic book writer, the lyric video for the catchy song "Break Free (Theme From Rai)" features artwork from RAI #1-5 by Juan José Ryp and Andrew Dalhouse. The debut issue is on sale now at comic shops everywhere and this track is the perfect soundtrack for the post-apocalyptic adventure.

“Break Free (Theme From Rai)” is offered exclusively through the band’s Kickstarter as a companion to their new album Parallel Eternity. The cyborg samurai's single also comes with an exclusive RAI #1 variant cover by Paul Pelletier, which is an homage to Derek Riggs' cover for Iron Maiden's album Somewhere in Time. The limited edition variant is available with the modern trade dress (500 copies) and classic trade dress (200 copies).

Parallel Eternity marks A Sound Of Thunder’s tenth anniversary. To celebrate, the band collaborated with composer Brad Charles of Magic Giraffe Soundworks to create an album of orchestral metal. The centerpiece of the album is the 15 minute epic track “Explorer”. Written and demoed in 2008 by guitarist Josh Schwartz, the timing was finally right to tackle this massive undertaking for the band’s 10th anniversary with a full orchestra to elevate the song.

Guitarist Josh Schwartz comments: “Every band needs their epic; their ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ or ‘2112’. ‘Explorer’ is ours. It takes you on a journey from metal riffage to delicate acoustic passages, and through a whole range of emotions. The addition of Brad’s orchestration takes the song to a level of power and grandeur that we haven’t achieved until now.”

The album will also feature fan-favorite songs reimagined with full orchestration. The track list will include new versions of “Els Segadors (The Reapers)”, “Udoroth”, “Queen Of Hell”, “Time’s Arrow” and more.

Parallel Eternity is available for pre-order now in digital, regular CD, deluxe 2CD digipak, and splatter vinyl formats. A number of other items including a deluxe oversized album booklet, art prints, t-shirts, bonus tracks and more are available exclusively on Kickstarter. Backers can also get their names in the album credits and get early access to the album by supporting the Kickstarter campaign.

A Sound Of Thunder is a heavy metal band from Washington, DC. They are best known for their cover of the Catalonian anthem “Els Segadors (The Reapers)” which was a Top 40 hit in Europe and won an Independent Music Award for Best Metal Song in 2018. The band was an early adopter and pioneer of crowd-funding and has successfully created music (including two Billboard-charting albums), animation and graphic novels on a 100% independent basis with the support of their fans.

KORN Releases 'Cold' Live Video

KORN has released the official live video of the song "Cold", performed at the band's "The Nothing" album-release event on September 13. The clip was directed by Sebastien Paquet and filmed by Paquet, Dayne Malan, Edwin Daboub, Melissa Castro and Luke Schlink.

"Cold" is taken from KORN's latest album, "The Nothing", which was released on September 13 via Roadrunner/Elektra. The follow-up to 2016's "The Serenity Of Suffering" was once again produced by Nick Raskulinecz.

KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch told The Pulse Of Radio about the band's 13th studio LP: "I would say that it's like a continuation of our last record. It's really guitar-heavy and energetic — there's a lot of energy. We came back to the root of what KORN is, in our sound, in the lyrics and in the feel of the songs. And so what KORN started out to be, I feel like we're doing that right now."

KORN frontman Jonathan Davis told Kerrang! magazine that he is "really, really, really proud" of "The Nothing". "I worked really hard on it," he said. "The rest of the members worked hard and really did a great job. It's a very dark record."

Davis, whose estranged wife Deven died in August 2018, said that the album reflected events in his life, explaining: "It's basically me dealing with all the stuff that happened to me last year. Very emotional for me, but it is what it is. I can't wait for people to hear it. I really spent a long time on doing what I wanted to do this time."

While he shied away from calling "The Nothing" a concept album, Davis did say making the album was both difficult and therapeutic. He remarked: "It sucked. I'm not gonna say it didn't. It was just really hard. But that's how I've always dealt with all my problems — just throwing my heart and soul into my art."

MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE Looks Healthy In New Family Photo

Six months after he was diagnosed with throat cancer, MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine appears to be making a remarkable recovery.

Earlier today, Dave's wife of 28 years, Pam, uploaded a photo (see below) of what was apparently a family get-together at a restaurant near their home in Franklin, Tennessee, and she included the caption: "Let the holidays begin! #family" Seen in the picture are Dave and Pam along with their 27-year-old son Justis and 21-year-old daughter Electra, as well as Justis's girlfriend.

The 58-year-old MEGADETH guitarist/vocalist revealed his cancer diagnosis on June 17 on social media.

Last month, MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson said that Dave had completed his cancer treatments and was looking forward to hitting the road with his bandmates in January as the support act for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in Europe.

Although most of MEGADETH's previously announced 2019 tour dates were canceled as Mustaine battled the disease, the MEGADETH-curated Megacruise — which took place October 13-19 — still departed as scheduled, with Dave absent from the ship.

MEGADETH's tour with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and BAD WOLVES will visit 14 European countries starting on January 20 at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland and ending on February 20 at the Budapest Sportarena in Budapest, Hungary.

This past September, Mustaine listed his home outside Nashville for $2.498 million.

Mustaine purchased the house five years ago for $1.8 million, according to public records.

Dave and his family moved to Nashville in October 2014 after living in Fallbrook, California for a couple of years.

In May of this year, Mustaine sold his Fallbrook estate for $2 million.

Watch VIXEN Perform In Houston

Fan-filmed video footage of VIXEN's November 22 performance at Warehouse Live in Houston, Texas can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "txsurfer4u").

This past January, VIXEN recruited FEMME FATALE's Lorraine Lewis as its new lead singer following the departure of Janet Gardner.

Lewis had already performed with VIXEN, having fronted the group in March 2018 in Durant, Oklahoma while Gardner was recovering from surgery.

Prior to Lewis's addition to VIXEN, Roxy Petrucci (drums), Share Ross (bass) and Brittany Denaro (guitar) vowed to "expand upon the VIXEN legacy while remaining true to our musical roots."

Speaking to the "Music Mania" podcast this past summer, Lorraine stated about her addition to VIXEN: "First of all, I'm so honored and excited to be a part of VIXEN. They are a staple in rock and roll and metal and chicks that rock. I'm super honored to be with them and to be even asked to step in was a great honor. I'm hoping that I'm doing a good job and hoping I'm doing the songs justice, et cetera. I am loving being with the girls. I have history with the girls, for sure. I go way back with them. We were all getting record deals around the same time back from the Sunset Strip days. It's just amazing to go full circle, then be able to hang out with these girls 30-plus years later. I feel like it's a big slumber party every time we're together. It's super fun."

Asked whether it was "easy" for her to step in and replace original frontwoman Janet Gardner, Lorraine said: "As far as I know, VIXEN being Share [Ross, bass] and Roxy [Petrucci, drums] at this point, the original members, they never want it to end. They were definitely looking to the future and, 'Okay, what are we going to do if Janet bails? If Janet decides to do something different?' It was kind of a teaser for me, doing the Oklahoma show [in 2018]. I really enjoyed it so much. It was kind of one of those things where it was too weeks in the making. They called me two weeks before they went on the Monsters Of Rock cruise 2018 and said, 'Hey, Janet might not be doing this show. Would you be able to do it with us?' Because she had the aneurysm. I said 'Look, let me look at the material. I definitely want to help you guys out.' Janet definitely sings a lot higher than I do naturally. Janet has got an angelic voice. I'm a little bit lower vocally and a little bit raspy, and just a little bit different kind of a singer. I was a little nervous, to tell you the truth. I was like 'Oh dang. How am I going to take over for Janet Gardner?' I really did my homework. I really spent a lot of time with the songs because I really wanted to do the best job that I could do. I learned them all and did the Oklahoma show, and all in all with no rehearsals or anything, it came off without a hitch. That was the beginning; that kind of set the groundwork for the possibility of working together in the future. I wasn't really thinking that anything more was going to come out of it. I just thought 'This is just a one-off and that's it.' Then when they contacted me in January and said, 'It looks like Janet might be leaving. What do you think about joining VIXEN?' Number one, I was over-the-moon excited, then nervous as all hell. Because I was like, again I'm not Janet Gardner. I'm Lorraine. I know how to sing like Lorraine. I definitely do my best to honor the songs and do my best to sound, give the songs Janet's flavor, but it's still Lorraine singing Janet Gardner. That's just the truth. I know that I'm doing the best job that I can. I hope the fans love what I'm doing. Then we're looking to get some new music together so that's a merger of the two camps, basically FEMME FATALE and VIXEN and adding Britt [Denaro, guitar]. We're going to be a whole different machine once that starts as well, still honoring the VIXEN sound."

Gardner, who released her debut self-titled solo album in 2017, broke the news of her exit from the group on January 16.

Gardner, Petrucci and Ross are considered to be part of VIXEN's classic lineup, along with founding guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, who died of cancer in October 2013.

Gardner contributed lead vocals to VIXEN's most commercially successful studio albums — "Vixen" (1988), "Rev It Up" (1990) and "Tangerine" (1998) — as well as the group's latest release, last year's live album "Live Fire".

YUUUUSSSSS!

ARMORED SAINT will enter the studio in December to begin recording its new album. The follow-up to 2015's "Win Hands Down" will be released in 2020.

Last year, singer John Bush told the 96.7 KCAL-FM radio show "Wired In The Empire" that the band had "some songs" already written for the upcoming disc. "We don't want to wait too long before we put out a record, but on the same token, we thought 'Win Hands Down' is an amazing record and we're going to be hard-press to surpass it," he said. "ARMORED SAINT, it's kind of the way our career has gone. The way I see it, it's all about the quality, not the quantity, and I say that because I have to say that. It's true. I'd rather have 25, 30 years when we're all dead and gone and people look back on us and go, 'That was a cool band and they made some really cool records.' It's not like 'They made 20 records and maybe five of them were good and there's 15 bombs.' I don't want people to feel that way about ARMORED SAINT. I say that because we kind of have to do that because it's what our career has turned into. It would be cool to get out a record in less than five years. We went from 'Revelations' in 2000, to 'La Raza' in 2010. Granted, I was in ANTHRAX during that time. 'Win Hands Down' we cut in half and put it out in five. The tunes so far sound killer."

"Win Hands Down" was released in June 2015 via Metal Blade Records.

In the summer of 2018, ARMORED SAINT completed a North American tour commemorating the band's classic "Symbol Of Salvation" album. On this special run, the group performed "Symbol Of Salvation" in its entirety, with select shows recorded for a live DVD.
