Bridging the gap between progressive, power and thrash metal, the Boston-based Let Us Prey - fronted by vocalist Marc Lopes, best known as the front man of Manowar/The Dictators co-founder Ross Friedman's group Ross The Boss - will release their debut full-length, Virtues Of The Vicious, on July 24 via M-Theory Audio. Today, the band unveils “Halo Crown”, the second taste of the new album and a must-listen for fans of Nevermore, Forbidden and Death. A music video for the song - which features a guest guitar solo by Anthrax lead guitarist Jon Donais - can be seen below.
“The basic premise of ’Halo Crown’ is about technology becoming the new religion/god/power of humankind,” Lopes says. “It’s a dark, fast and furious tune with machine-like precision in its execution, which matches the vibe of the lyrical content. The drumming is surgically precise and blisteringly fast without sounding mechanical; the guitars mix crushing, down-tuned brutality with dense harmonies and ripping leads; and Lopes shifts effortlessly from thrash/death metal growls to soaring melodic vocals and searing Halford-esque highs with layered harmonies.

Eagle Rock Entertainment will release DEF LEPPARD's "London To Vegas" on May 29. This limited edition 2Blu-ray+4CD, 2DVD+4CD, DVD/Blu-ray+2CD and digital format release features two spectacular concert films: "Hysteria At The O2" and "Hits Vegas, Live At Planet Hollywood".

Filmed in December 2018, "Hysteria At The O2" captures DEF LEPPARD celebrating the groundbreaking "Hysteria", one of their two diamond-certified 10-times-platinum albums (the other being "Pyromania"). Performed in its entirety before a ravenous sold-out crowd, this momentous homecoming event is made all the more powerful as it was their long-awaited debut at the iconic O2 Arena in London. Featuring electrifying performances of "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Animal", "Women" and "Love Bites", bandmembers Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick "Sav" Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums), conclude the set with a host of extra hits, including "Let's Get Rocked", "When Love And Hate Collide" and "Photograph".

As mentioned in our Press Release for those 3 clips, we informed you that in addition to those clips from “Visions”, we also had several more videos ready to go from various other Virgin Steele albums. This particular 'Kingdom Of The Fearless' clip arose spontaneously in the following manner:
"About a week ago we were asked to contribute a very short “Greeting/Shout Out” to the Keep It True Festival audience, which we did and our clip aired on Saturday April 25th. Well... immediately after completing that “Greeting” in which I used part of the song 'Kingdom Of The Fearless', I thought... “HELL... BY THE THUNDER OF ZEUS... I’m already halfway there, why don’t I complete the whole song”! So that is just what I did... I carried on working and now we have the full-length version of 'Kingdom Of The Fearless'. Using both rehearsal footage, and live footage, plus some still photos, I believe we have crafted something that both reflects the energy of the song, and invokes the mood of where this song (that I wrote about Agamemnon’s conquest of Troy) came from... the album... The House Of Atreus “Act 1”.
"The House Of Atreus Act 1 and Act 2 Works, discuss the events directly following the war in Troy and what happened once the warriors returned home. "Speaking of Visions Of Eden... the other video clip we are releasing today is 'Bonedust'. I wrote this song for the Visions Of Eden album, where it appears with the instrumentation of vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards and drums. The version presented here is quite different. This is the live orchestral take that appeared on the Ghost Harvest Vintage 1 (Black Wine For Mourning) album. This song perhaps acts as a “bridge” between those 3 “Visions” clips we just issued on video a week or so ago, and what will be forthcoming in the next week or two... (those clips we finished for tracks from the Gothic Voodoo Anthems album).
"This version of 'Bonedust' was actually recorded during those live sessions for the Gothic Voodoo Anthems album, but I chose to put it on Ghost Harvest (Vintage 1), as it seemed to fit in nicely in between the tracks: 'Psychic Slaughter' and 'Hearts On Fire'. Using vocals, piano, some angry cellos, keyboards and orchestral percussion, this is a very different take on the song. This version presents the more Bluesy Voodoo-esque side of the song as well as the Gothic, Barbaric-Romantic nature of what we do. We wanted to strip things down to their basic raw essence and present a different view... a different flare if you will. We carried that idea forward and on through, continuing working with these concepts for all the Gothic Voodoo Anthems album’s tracks. Again all the songs were recorded live and then I went back in and added a bit more orchestration on some of the songs later on.
"As we said earlier... more videos will be appearing within the next few weeks and yes we are also now quite deep into completing what will be the next new full-length Epic, Barbaric-Romantic Virgin Steele studio album."
Former VIXEN singer Janet Gardner has released a "slide show" music video for a new song called "Lonely We Fight". The track is once again a collaboration with her husband, guitarist/producer Justin James, who has previously worked with STAIND, COLLECTIVE SOUL and TYKETTO.
"Lonely We Fight" and the previously released song "Talk To Me" will both appear on Gardner's upcoming third solo album, tentatively due later in the year.
Janet's second solo LP, "Your Place In The Sun", was released in May 2019 via Pavement Entertainment. The effort combined modern rock elements with the classic sound Gardner has become known for in her decades of female-fronted and influential fury.
Janet announced her departure from VIXEN in January 2019, saying in a statement that it was time for her to step aside and let drummer Roxy Petrucci and bassist Share Ross "pursue their vision for the future of VIXEN."
Gardner, Petrucci and Ross are considered to be part of VIXEN's classic lineup, along with founding guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, who died of cancer in October 2013.
Gardner contributed lead vocals to VIXEN's most commercially successful studio albums — "Vixen" (1988), "Rev It Up" (1990) and "Tangerine" (1998) — as well as the group's latest release, 2018's live album "Live Fire".
In January 2018, Gardner underwent surgery to remove blood clots in her brain, a condition known as a subdural hematoma.
While Gardner was recovering from her surgery, VIXEN played a show in Durant, Oklahoma in March 2018 with a fill-in singer, Lorraine Lewis of FEMME FATALE. In January 2019, Lewis was announced as Gardner's official replacement.
GRIM REAPER vocalist Steve Grimmett has reunited remotely with the band's founding member, riff writer and guitarist Nick Bowcott, to record a "quarantine jam" version of the BLACK SABBATH classic "Heaven And Hell".
"It's all [renowned Internet guitar teacher] Steve Stine's fault," quips Bowcott. "He's the guy who was nice/dumb enough (delete as you deem fit) to extend the invitation. I knew he'd get a great rhythm section, but it obviously all hinges on the singer as we're talking about a song sung by the late, great Ronnie James Dio, here. So that was my first, pivotal question. 'It's our mutual friend and your old bandmate Steve Grimmett,' was the reply, and so I immediately said, 'Hell yes, I'm in!!' In my humble opinion, there are only a handful of singers who can do RJD justice, and Steve is definitely one of said few."
Stine sent Bowcott a rough guide track to record his rhythm and lead guitar parts over. The same was done with Grimmett, bassist Brian Hollenbeck (HAIRBALL) and session drummer Joel Stevenett. "We all also shot videos of ourselves doing the deed too, and then sent our stuff back to Steve," Bowcott reveals. "Steve G in Swindon, England; Steve S in Kindred, North Dakota; Brian in Minneapolis; Joel in Salt Lake City; and me in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
"I only got to hear and see the final sonic and visual result [Sunday] morning," Bowcott concludes. "I was blown away. All played amazingly, the video edit is kick ass, Mr. Stine's mix is top-shelf. And as for Mr. Grimmett's vocal performance? One word: 'Damn!' I sincerely hope we did this amazing song justice — one thing's for sure, I had a blast doing it!"
Grimmett has spent the last decade and a half fronting STEVE GRIMMETT'S GRIM REAPER, with which he has released one EP, "Alive And Kicking" (2011) and two full-length albums, "Walking In The Shadows" (2016) and "At The Gates" (2019).
In 2014, Bowcott joined STEVE GRIMMETT'S GRIM REAPER on stage, marking the first time Steve and Nick performed together in more than 25 years.
Grimmett had his right leg partially amputated in January 2017 after an infected wound on his foot spread to the bones in his leg part way through the group's five-week tour of South America.
PAPA ROACH has released the official video for the track "Feel Like Home". The minimalistic, high-energy clip was filmed at home, under quarantine, providing a rare and very entertaining look into the bandmembers and their family at home.
The band explains: "We're all home, in quarantine, and decided to try and entertain our families a little bit with one of our favorite songs from the record. We hope it brings a little joy and positivity. Really looking forward to seeing people around the world trying their own."

PAPA ROACH wrapped a four-hour epic live-streamed retrospective last month to celebrate the 20th anniversary release of its debut album, "Infest". The program, dubbed "Infest In-Conversation", featured special guests Dave Buckner (ex-PAPA ROACH drummer), Chino Moreno (DEFTONES), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (LINKIN PARK), Marcos Siega (TV/film director) and Jason AalonButler (FEVER 333). The program ran simultaneously across the band's official Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, VK and Twitter accounts, garnering an audience of 1.8 million during the broadcast.
"Infest" peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and has been certified triple platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association Of America) for sales in excess of three million copies in the U.S. alone. Mongolian rock sensation THE HU has released "Song Of Women", featuring a guest appearance by Lzzy Hale of HALESTORM. The track will appear on the deluxe edition of THE HU's critically acclaimed album "The Gereg".
"The Gereg" deluxe edition will be released on July 10 and will be available in CD, double vinyl and digital formats. This version includes three of THE HU tracks re-made with special featured artists.
"Yuve Yuve Yu", featuring Danny Case of FROM ASHES TO NEW, was the band's first-ever radio single. The song peaked at No. 4 on the rock radio charts and established the band at the format. The band's current single "Wolf Totem", featuring Jacoby Shaddix of PAPA ROACH, is well on its way to the top of the charts. The third track exclusive to the deluxe edition is "Song Of Women". There will also be three acoustic tracks on the new release.
Lzzy appears in the video for "Song Of Women", which was filmed prior to the coronavirus quarantine.
"I'm so thankful to THE HU for welcoming me, my words and my melody into this song," says Hale. "I can count on less than one hand the number of times where a project has changed the course of my spirit and renewed my faith in humanity. This was one of those projects. I'm still levitating."
May is a month filled with events honoring women — Mother's Day on May 10 and Women's Health Week from May 12 through May 18, so the band felt it important to release the song in May.
THE HU is involved in the film "The Retaliators", a high-octane horror-thriller starring Michael Lombardi (FX's "Rescue Me"), Marc Menchaca ("Ozark", "The Outsider") and Joseph Gatt ("Dumbo"), with special guest appearances by some of rock music’s biggest names. THE HU bandmembers play a small part in the movie and contributed "Wolf Totem" featuring Shaddix to the soundtrack.
THE HU stands for the Mongolian root word for human being, inspiring the band's original style of music that it calls "Hunnu Rock." The group pulls inspiration from the Hunnu, an ancient Mongolian empire better known as The Huns in western culture. Their music is deeply embedded with their ancient culture, even integrating old Mongolian war cries and poetry into their lyrics.
The group was founded in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia by their producer Dashka, along with band members Gala, Jaya, Temka and Enkush. Together they create rock music with traditional Mongolian instrumentation such as the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle), tovshuur (Mongolian guitar), tumur khuur (jaw harp), guttural throat singing built around the pillars of heavy rock: distorted guitars, bombastic drums, and aggressive rhythms. All four members have earned Bachelor's or higher degrees in classical music and have gained several years of touring experience throughout Asia and the Pacific Rim.

For his new release, Babylon A.D. vocalist Derek Davis has put together a hand picked band of enormously talented musicians from the San Francisco Bay Area and named the band Derek Davis & The Revolutionary Souls.
"The new track 'Pandemic Blues (The Summer Days)' is about the new world we wake up and face everyday as we as a community of people work our way through the ongoing crises," says Davis. "The song takes a tongue in cheek approach on the very serious problems we all face."
The single and video content portray a realistic yet satirical and sometimes funny look at the way we all are effected. The song's style and sound is that of reggae, rock and soul, fused together by the band's unique sound. The video images reflect the track's lyrical content and piece together a futuristic 1950s B movie Sci-fi tale of the world. A sampling of the lyrics reads:

Progressive rockers HAKEN will release their new studio album, "Virus", on June 5. The music video for the LP's second single, "Canary Yellow", a striking animated clip created by Crystal Spotlight, can be seen below.
The band comments: "For 'Canary Yellow', we went in a more alternative direction, since we’re all big fans of bands like RADIOHEAD, ELBOW and Peter Gabriel. Those are artists who can portray quite dark subject matter through really beautiful music. Since the 'Virus' album is intended to be a metaphor for various negative tropes of society, we wanted to explore this idea in a variety of ways. 'Canary Yellow' deals with the suppression of physical and mentally abusive relationships; something that can often remain hidden behind a seemingly happy facade.
"We once again returned to longtime visual collaborators Crystal Spotlight for this ambitious animation and we're absolutely thrilled with how well the visuals complement and enhance the atmosphere of the song. The video shows a seemingly idyllic family environment, but with a sense of sadness beneath the surface and absolute devastation looming on the horizon. They go about their day oblivious to the fact that they are mannequins living in a 1950s-style 'Doom Town' experiment."
The video for the album's first single, "Prosthetic", has reached over 200,000 views so far and the song has over 300,000 streams.
The band recently started broadcasting from its new Twitch channel, and it will be going in-depth on how "Canary Yellow" was written and produced on May 8 at 6 p.m. U.K. time.

Since releasing "Vector" in October 2018, HAKEN has completed headline tours the world over, played sold-out shows across Europe and North America as support for Devin Townsend and picked up a Prog award for their efforts too. All the while, they have been quietly, secretly working on the follow-up album.
Drummer Ray Hearne reveals: "Since releasing 'The Mountain' in 2013, one question has been asked of us time and time again, 'Who is the Cockroach King?' This is something we were interested in exploring more deeply too, so we essentially did that through our music; elaborating and expanding upon the intervallic, harmonic, rhythmic and lyrical themes of that song. The end result is in an arc which spans across two albums: 'Vector' and 'Virus'."
Once again, Adam "Nolly" Getgood has mixed what is perhaps the most eclectic HAKEN album to date, with the seven tracks revealing hints of influences from multiple genres, all intertwined with HAKEN's own recognizable sound. Guitarist Richard Henshall had this to say about the production: "Using Nolly again was a no-brainer, as we wanted the two albums to be sonically connected. But having just spent a day mixing with him in his studio, it's obvious that this album will be an evolution of the 'Vector' sound. These songs seem to allow a lot more freedom of creativity with the production, so we're excited to see where it leads."

"Virus" is the culmination of a musical thought experiment which started with the "Vector" writing sessions in 2017 and holds intriguing potential for the band's future, as vocalist Ross Jennings explains: "Whilst 'Virus' can absolutely be enjoyed as a stand-alone work, it is thematically and conceptually linked with 'Vector', so our intention is to perform both albums back to back for a special performance someday."
Robert Trujillo and Kirk Hammett played a cover version of EBBA GRÖN's "Staten Och Kapitalet" during METALLICA's July 9 concert at Ullevi in Gothenburg, Sweden. Professionally filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
"Staten Och Kapitalet" was part of the fun and unusual feature METALLICA added to its shows on the band's recent tours: at each stop, Hammett and Trujillo have been covering songs from some of their musical heroes — often choosing songs that are far removed from the band's traditional metal sound. The "doodles," as the band refers to them in their setlists, have been showing up right before Trujillo's solo on "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth". The songs are pared-down interpretations — just bass and guitar and sometimes Trujillo singing in front of music stands.
METALLICA is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 291,000 copies in its first week of release.
The "WorldWired" tour has played more than 130 shows across the world since its 2016 launch.
Last November, drummer Lars Ulrich told The Mercury News that the trek could last through early 2020.
Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman has released a "Home Jams" version of his song "Self Pollution", which originally appeared on the 2017 album "Wall Of Sound". The new rendition of the song features Friedman, along with his longtime bandmates Kiyoshi (bass) and Jordan Ziff (guitar), plus Anup Sastry (drums). The split-screen video was filmed in Tokyo, Osaka, Phoenix and Baltimore, with each musician separated in his or her home.
Last December, Friedman told "Everblack Media" about the members of his touring solo group: "I'm sure everybody's going to love my band. They might come to see me, but when they leave that concert, they're going to be more excited about my band than they are of me, because they outshine me every single night... There are certain people around the world who are able to do what is necessary in my band and have gone through extensive, intense training to do it... They've gone through such incredible training to do such a thing. The top priority is that they have to get more attention than I do when we play. They can't just be there in the background — they really have to play, and they really have to be there."
Speaking about his audition process, Marty said: "Musical ability has to be pretty much taken for granted. It's beyond that. It's like a showmanship-type of thing. It's kind of an attitude. I think Kiyoshi is a perfect example — she's got her own thing. When she plays, she's not just mimicking what I'm doing — she's doing her own thing that works in my music really well, and the same thing [is true] with my guitarist and drummer as well. The audition process, it's quite crazy. It's quite difficult, I think, for the people who want to do it. There are many people who have the musical ability to do what I need, but beyond that, it's stamina, it's image and appearance. There are people that play fantastically, but maybe they look like they work in a bank or sell insurance. That's not going to work. I really want them to take a lot of the attention — I want every person to take an equal amount of attention, so it feels like a band... [and so that] nobody walks away from the concert feeling like there was a weak link in there."
"Wall Of Sound" was released in August 2017 via Prosthetic Records. Produced by Friedman, engineered by Paul Fig (GHOST, RUSH, ALICE IN CHAINS) and mixed by Jens Bogren (KREATOR, OPETH, SEPULTURA), the disc "expands and destroys any conventional notions of instrumental music," according to a press release. Legendary QUEEN producer Mack came on board to handle the mixing on two tracks, "Streetlight" and "For A Friend", which Friedman proclaimed was "an honor for me, for sure."

What happens when you're in quarantine? You watch a LOT of movies!
That's when Chris Laney realized how many fantastic soundtracks there are out there. After an online AW with Allan Sørensen they decided to contact some friends to ask them to join in for some quarantine fun.
"A View To A Kill", taken from the 1985 James Bond film and originally performed by Duran Duarn for the soundtrack - is the fourth track out, featuring members from Soilwork, Hammerfall, Pretty Maids, and Royal Hunt.

Deep Purple toured extensively in South America in March/April 1999 and this great concert vision was captured on 1st April, 1999 in Buenos Aires at Stadium Obras Sanitarias in Argentina. The show features the tracks “Woman From Tokyo”, “Smoke On The Water”, “Lazy” and “Black Night”.
Bleed From Within have released their new track and video for "Night Crossing", featuring Matt Heafy of Trivium. The song is off the band's forthcoming full-length album, Fracture, out May 29. Watch the music video, which features Matt Heafy and was recorded during quarantine, below.
"We've been eager to share this track since we finished it at the start of the year. This is classic BFW song structure and the groove is strong," states Bleed From Within about the song and music video. "Matt from Trivium chips in with such a tasty solo towards the end and he absolutely nails it. We've been chatting back and forth with him online for a while then after meeting at a show of theirs during Summer last year, the idea came around to get him involved on a new track. We created an opening and Matt's part was decided. The video was inspired by the numerous video calls we've had amongst ourselves, friends and family since entering lockdown. Something fun during these crazy times. Enjoy!"
Bleed From Within recorded Fracture at the band's rehearsal/studio space in Glasgow and with Adam 'Nolly' Getgood at Middle Farm Studios in South Devon.The cover was designed by the band's very own Davie Provan, who stated, "sharing our album cover with the world is incredibly cathartic. Every album we've ever released holds a special place with all of us, and this is no different. 'Fracture' is a statement of intent; breaking away from all we've known and moving forward as a band. The journey starts here."

This is a special release which sees the Danish hard rockers offer a full performance of their classic album, Future World, originally released in 1987. This was the band’s first major breakthrough release in the metal community and arguably the band's most popular album.
To celebrate Future World’s 30th Anniversary, over the course of 2017-18 Pretty Maids hit the road to play the album in its entirety to mark the release of this landmark album in their discography. The band decided to record and film a live performance of the album in Tokyo, Japan where the band was set to play on two nights in November of 2018.
"After all, the decision to record it in Japan was kind of obvious since Japan has been one of our strongest markets since the ‘80s by all means, and we never filmed any live stuff there,” says singer Ronnie Atkins. "I remember both the concert we did while being there as absolutely great fun with a very loud and enthusiastic crowd. I mean, it is always a pleasure performing in Japan since it’s a fantastic and very dedicated audience, always have been. And so it was on those two nights in November 2018."
At the moment, the band is not planning to play the Future World album again in its entirety, so this is a very special release which all Pretty Maids fans should own.
