NIGHT DEMON Premiers "Empires Fall" Guitar Playthrough Video

Night Demon have released a guitar playthrough of their recent single, "Empires Fall". Watch the video featuring Night Demon lead guitarist Armand John Anthony, below.

"If I had one song to sum up what I love about playing guitar, 'Empires Fall' has it all. It's all my stylistic influences mashed together in just under 3 minutes. Let's rip," states Armand John Anthony.

Earlier this month, Night Demon released their "Empires Fall" single worldwide via Century Media Records. "Empires Fall" is the follow-up to their second studio album, Darkness Remains, released three years ago. The hard-hitting, take-no-prisoners track chronicling the demise of the record industry, was mixed by Josh Newell & mastered by Brad Boatright. Punk legends, Lars Fredrickson and Matt Freeman of Rancid, as well as James Paul Luna of Holy Grail also contributed background vocals to the track. Watch the lyric video for "Empires Fall" below:

The single is available digitally on all streaming platforms and on a 7'' vinyl version, which includes a cover version of Le Griffe's "Fast Bikes" on the B-side. You can order your very own copy, or stream the track HERE.

The single is available as a 7’’ vinyl version, including a cover version of Le Griffe’s “Fast Bikes” on the B side, as well as digitally on all streaming platforms. You can order your copy, or stream the track here.

The brilliant hand-painted cover art by Andrei Bouzikov is the icing on the cake for "Empires Fall", evoking images of Godzilla and Mothra terrorizing Tokyo, but with an irrepressible Night Demon twist that dovetails perfectly with the song’s lyrical content.

Although the global coronavirus crisis has temporarily grounded their tour plans, the band are plotting their triumphant return to the live arena, including select festival appearances in summer 2020. Empires may fall, but Night Demon still stand tall.

Night Demon is:

Jarvis Leatherby - Vocals, Bass
Armand John Anthony - Guitars
Dusty Squires - Drums

BPMD Feat. BOBBY BLITZ, MIKE PORTNOY, MARK MENGHI And PHIL DEMMEL Release "Toys In The Attic" Guitar Playthrough Video

BPMD - the new juggernaut featuring heavy metal icons Bobby Blitz (Overkill) on vocals, drummer Mike Portnoy (The Winery Dogs, Sons of Apollo), bassist Mark Menghi (Metal Allegiance) and guitarist Phil Demmel (Vio-lence, ex-Machine Head) - have released a guitar playthrough video for their cover of Aerosmith's "Toys In The Attic". Watch below:

BPMD will release their upcoming full-length, American Made, on June 12 via Napalm Records.

It’s evident within the initial seconds of BPMD’s American Made, as the legendary Bobby Blitz chants the introductory lyrics to Ted Nugent’s “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang” in his signature skyscraper-high howl, that he and his equally iconic bandmates are here to have a damn good time. Featuring 10 unforgettable rock classics reimagined as heavy bangers, American Made is a party on wax. Tracks such as the raucous “Toys in the Attic” (Aerosmith) and rager-ready “Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers” (ZZ Top) prove that BPMD not only manages to capture the essence of each original track on the album, but skillfully transforms each classic into an unforgettable metallic anthem for a new age. The seasoned quartet flex their musical muscles on renowned classics such as “Saturday Night Special” (Lynyrd Skynyrd), “We’re an American Band” (Grand Funk Railroad) and “Walk Away” (James Gang), and introduce a whole new heavy generation to deeper cuts like blues standard “Evil” (Cactus/Willie Dixon) and “Never In My Life” (Mountain). Channeling nostalgia while maintaining a fresh attitude, American Made is a summer soundtrack for all ages.

Bassist Mark Menghi remarks on BPMD's origins: “Last summer, right after the Fourth of July, I was sitting in my backyard. I was listening to a bunch of ‘70s stuff and Lynyrd Skynyrd's ‘Saturday Night Special’ came on. I said, ‘Man, I would love to play that song,’ and my eight-year-old son turned to me and said, ‘You should do a record of all these songs, Dad.’ And I was like, ‘Hmmm? Yeah, why not!?!’”

After connecting over their mutual love for the classics and forming their current line-up, the members of BPMD traveled to drummer Mike Portnoy’s home studio in Pennsylvania and set up shop. Since the whole concept of the band was born the night Menghi was listening to “Saturday Night Special”, BPMD were determined to record the song for the album. Beyond that, each musician picked two ‘70s rock tracks and everyone had to learn them!

Menghi chose “Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers” in addition to “Saturday Night Special". Blitz’s choices were a little more obscure - “Never in My Life” replete with cowbell and a blazing repeated blues lick, and Cactus’ version of “Evil", a fiercely Zeppelin-like take on an old Willie Dixon song.  For his tracks, Demmel picked “D.O.A.” and had a blast channeling his inner Eddie Van Halen, and took a deep dive with “Tattoo Vampire". Recalling the days when Ted Nugent was more of a bad boy than a gunslinger, Portnoy picked “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang", in additon to “Toys In the Attic”.

Menghi, who also co-produced American Made, adds: “We didn't go into it trying to make everything metal, we just wanted to play the way we play and this is what you get... we’ve all been influenced by a wide variety of bands including Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Metallica. So, of course, we’re going to attack the songs a little harder than guys that didn’t grow up on heavy music.”

Blitz adds: "We made sure we did high-quality versions of these songs and gave them all a little twist. I think there’s a place for that in the music world today. There’s something really great about nostalgia, especially if it's reimagined.”

American Made was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis, also known for his work with Metal Allegiance (featuring Mark Menghi), as well as artists such as DevilDriver, Trivium, and many others.

American Made will be available in the following formats:

- 1-CD Jewel Case
- 1-LP Gatefold Black
- 1-LP Gatefold Red/White/Blue Splatter (NPR Mailorder exclusive)
- American Made T-Shirt + Jewel Case Bundle (NPR Mailorder exclusive)
- American Made T-Shirt + Vinyl Black Bundle (NPR Mailorder exclusive / North America ONLY)
- American Made T-Shirt + Vinyl Red/White/Blue Splatter Bundle (NPR Mailorder exclusive / North America ONLY)
- Digital Album

Former MACHINE HEAD Members Join Forces With SHINEDOWN Bassist For Cover Of ALICE IN CHAINS' 'No Excuses'

Phil Demmel (MACHINE HEAD, VIO-LENCE), Marta Demmel (BLEEDING THROUGH), Dave McClain (MACHINE HEAD, SACRED REICH) and Eric Bass (SHINEDOWN) have joined forces to record a quarantine cover version of ALICE IN CHAINS' "No Excuses".

Regarding how the cover came together, Demmel said: "'No Excuses' is a song I had been wanting to cover with our cover band THE MERKINS. On the anniversary of Layne's [Staley] passing (April 5th), I asked Marta if she would want to record it in our home studio where it would be the 1st vocals I've recorded there and her 1st time recording a lead vocal track. It was a fun learning experience so we asked our friends, Dave McClain and Eric Bass to help complete the track. We've decided to share that experience with you all knowing that it's far from perfect, as we all as humans are."

Demmel announced his exit from MACHINE HEAD in October 2018, explaining at the time that he wanted "to step away and do something else musically." Phil, who first played with MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn in VIO-LENCE in the late 1980s and early 1990s, went on to complete MACHINE HEAD's "Freaks & Zeroes Tour" before officially leaving the band.

Demmel has spent the past year playing sporadic shows with the reunited VIO-LENCE, which recently inked a deal with Metal Blade Records. The band's new EP is tentatively due to be recorded in the coming months.

Finland's DEATHING Release "Crash & Burn" Single / Video; Forthcoming EP To Feature AT THE GATES Cover

Finnish death metal band Deathing is set to release their debut EP, All Hail The Decay, on May 22nd via Inverse Records. A new single "Crash & Burn" was released today. Check out the video below.

Vocalist/guitarist Marko Mäkinen comments:

"The second song from the EP called Crash & Burn is a dim view of today's performance-based society. After catchy melody the song goes into cruise mode as the inner monologue starts. The character of the story is stuck in a rat race and finally succumbs to a total meltdown. The song is probably the favourite for the whole band from the EP."

Tracklist:

"Kings of Terror"
"Crash & Burn"
"Dead World Alive"
"Sickness"
"Blinded By Fear" (At The Gates cover)

Spring 2014: The building blocks of Deathing were taken from the ruins of band Ruindom when former bass player Marko Mäkinen dug up his guitar and started bombarding drummer Mikko Kivimäki with riff ideas. He took the bait. Rami Vartiainen soon joined the fold to fill up the bass frequencies and Mika Lehtinen took up the second guitar.

Fast forward to 2019. The spark finally ignites the full flames when recording the drums for the debut EP release as the material showed great promise. After Lehtinen departs due to lack of time, good friend Aleksi Tossavainen takes up the seven string duties and Deathing is complete in its current form.

"We have never intended to reinvent the wheel of death metal or to please everyone. We create our music with our own terms because we love it that way and we really think we can reach same-minded people with our debut release. A lot of our influences are from 80’s and 90’s, but we like to be mobile and not get fortified in one place or decade."

For information and updates on Deathing check out their official Facebook page here.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's TOMMY LEE And ANTHRAX's CHARLIE BENANTE React With Humor To TRUMP Coronavirus Disinfectant Idea

MÖTLEY CRÜE's Tommy Lee and ANTHRAX's Charlie Benante have both reacted with humor to comments from President Donald Trump on Thursday that injecting disinfectant and exposure to ultraviolet rays could help people with the coronavirus.

Trump made the comments during his daily news briefing at the White House, after a discussion on work by government researchers on the effect of heat and sunlight on the coronavirus.

Without naming any particular disinfectant brands, he said: "I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute! And is there a way we can do something, by an injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it'd be interesting to check that. So, that you're going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me."

Medical doctors have been quick to denounce the idea of injecting cleaning products to clear the virus, saying that the president was endangering the public's health.

"Trump is absolutely wrong and irresponsible," Dr. Eugene Gu, whose laboratory is involved in coronavirus testing, wrote on Twitter, adding, "Clorox, Tide Pods and Lysol will kill coronavirus. No question about it. But if you are infected then the coronavirus is inside your cells. If you use any of those disinfectants to kill the coronavirus in your own cells then you'll die right along with the coronavirus."

Earlier today, Lee shared a TikTok video of someone using a Donald Trump toilet brush bowl to clean his toilet. This prompted Benante to respond by posting a meme for "Trump-recommended" Clorox chewables.

Lee has repeatedly voiced his displeasure with Trump, including last August when he implored the president to "wake the fuck up" after he blamed the Dayton and El Paso mass shootings on video games and mental illness.

In December 2018, Tommy referred to the 45th U.S. president as an "asshole" and labeled his supporters "dumbasses." A year earlier, he called the president "a fucking idiot" and said the people who voted for him are "dickheads."

After Trump was elected president in November 2016, Lee expressed his disbelief on Twitter, writing: "What the actual fuck is happening?"

In November 2018, Tommy lambasted Trump for blaming California's wildfires on poor forest management. "Can you be anymore insensitive you fucking moron" Lee tweeted.

In recent months, Benante has sent out multiple tweets that were critical of the Trump administration. In January, the drummer implied that Trump authorized the killing of Qasem Soleimani, the commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force, to distract the public from his impeachment trial.

Fox host: Trump says he was being sarcastic when he talked about injecting disinfectants. Your thoughts?

Bret Baier: "Well, that’s not how it looked in the briefing... it didn’t seem like it was coming off as sarcastic when he was talking and turning to Dr. Birx on the side" pic.twitter.com/XbdJXLg2WT

Watch ANTHRAX's CHARLIE BENANTE And BUTCHER BABIES' CARLA HARVEY Cover TOM PETTY's 'Yer So Bad'

Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX) and his longtime girlfriend, Carla Harvey (BUTCHER BABIES), have uploaded their cover version of the Tom Petty's 1990 song "Yer So Bad", filmed they were in quarantine. Playing bass on the track is Roberto "Ra" Diaz (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES).

Benante uploaded a video of the performance to his YouTube channel, writing in an accompanying message: "We miss you, Tom Petty! One of the American greats! Not only a stellar multi instrumentalist but the king of story telling through his lyrics. His songs are familiar, yet they never sound dated. Hearing them after awhile just reminds you of how good he was!

"What you may not know about Petty was that he was an advocate for fair treatment of musical artists and fans alike. He fought the record industry to avoid his contract be transferred, saying he didn't want to be 'bought and sold like a piece of meat,' and later fought to keep the prices of his albums down so that everyone could afford him.

"This song has always been a favorite of mine, the lyrics, the Jangly guitars, his voice... he and the HEARTBREAKERS wrote some catchy stuff .

"This one features the beautiful Carla Harvey of the BUTCHER BABIES and Ra Diaz from SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, they rule! Thanks to Andy Lagis for mixing and Dima Levanchuk for video editing - I [love] tom Petty #mikecampbell"

Petty died in October 2017 of an accidental overdose due to a mixture of medications. THE HEARTBREAKERS frontman passed away shortly after completing a tour celebrating the band's 40th anniversary. He was 66 years old.

TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2002.

In 2005, Petty was awarded Billboard's Century Award, the organization's highest honor for creative achievement.

2016 saw Petty's induction into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

Thunder Metal Pioneers GUARDIAN OF LIGHTNING - New Album Cosmos Tree Due In July, New Video Streaming Now

Guardian Of Lightning is the herald of a new take on the metal genre known as thunder metal which replaces the typical lead guitar role with that of an ultra-heavy, thundering electric bass. The band will release their debut full-length album entitled Cosmos Tree on July 17 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced by Eurico Tavares at Stage Record Power Audio Studio in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The album artwork was designed by the bassist Iron King. See below for the full tracklisting.

Cosmos Tree contains nine thundering heavy metal anthems which are destined to usher in a new wave of classic heavy metal with a fresh modern reboot, like a thunderbird roaring across the horizon! With the very first single (which also happens to be the title track), it is easy to hear the lead bass guitar driving the melody which emphasizes a higher meaning of the cosmos... that we are all connected somehow and humanity is the fruit of something much higher than that which our consciousness can comprehend. Other highlights on the album include "Raise Your Sword" which is an anthem of rebellion that we have the power to face negativity to face the world's evil problems, to never give up and fight for what is right and just! "Sound Of Thunder" pays homage to the Thunderbird, a Native American deity which is widely seen as a protector and enforcer of morality.

The band have also revealed a music video for the first single off the album, the title track "Cosmos Tree". The video was directed by Victor Yuri and lead bassist Iron King, watch it now.

"Shooting the music video for 'Cosmos Tree' was a major undertaking for us, with it being our first music video," says lead bassist Iron King. "We wanted everything to be perfect. The highlight of the video is a twenty-six foot tall flaming metal tree! We hired a metalworker to build it, and we needed a flatbed tractor trailer to bring it to a nearby sugar plantation for the shoot. It took about a week wrapping the metal bars in more than 60 feet of denim, from old jeans. We covered it with six gallons of kerosene just before the shoot, and when they lit that thing on fire, let me tell you… it was hot!"

SEASONS Release "Violence Is A Virtue" Music Video

Richmond, VA metalcore band Seasons has released their official music video for "Violence Is A Virtue". Directed by Hive Minds Media, "Violence Is A Virtue" was filmed at Another Round Bar & Grill.

Through the music, and evident in the chorus of "this is my way of letting go," Seasons continues to remind listeners that creativity and artistry are at the forefront. This idea is further shown when people come to their shows, watch them live, and hang out with them afterwards. This is what they live for.

“This song is about how I feel about myself and the world around me to a degree. The overwhelming nature of the world and repetition of the day in, day out routine is stifling and limits us as creators.” - Kent Stewart (vocals)

The band said in a statement, "While we're all doing our part and staying home, we find ourselves missing live music, so how about we dive back into a few of our favorite shows at a socially responsible distance?"

METALLICA has been largely out of the public eye since last fall when the band canceled an Australian tour and announced that frontman James Hetfield was returning to rehab for the first time since 2002 to battle his addictions.

Hetfield made his first major public appearance since entering rehab on January 30, when an exhibit featuring 10 of his classic custom cars opened at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

Last month, METALLICA announced that its South American tour, which was originally planned for April, has been postponed until December. In addition, the band's appearances at three Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festivals in May have been canceled: Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome To Rockville in Daytona and Sonic Temple in Columbus.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that METALLICA has to be in better than average shape to play its music live. "There's a physicality to our music that we cannot ignore, so we just kind of have to keep ourselves in a certain sort of physical sort of state where that we can't let ourselves get to a point where we can't play these songs," he said. "That's just not allowed. When we write this music, we have to make sure that we can play it and play it when we need to play it."

PARALYDIUM's John Berg Performs "Finding The Paragon" Guitar Playthrough; Video

Frontiers Music Srl will release Paralydium’s debut album, Worlds Beyond, on June 12. Pre-order the album here, and watch John Berg perform a guitar playthrough of the the song "Finding the Paragon" below.

It’s fair to say that there are few bands that can or will match Paralydium's delivery of melodic, rhythmical, and powerful songs. Their album, Worlds Beyond, will showcase this very claim.

Initially known as "The Paralydium Project”, the band hails from Sweden and is an epic progressive metal combo founded by guitarist John Berg with a vision to create an innovative mixture of hard hitting heavy riffs, textured landscapes, and powerful grooves. Their sound takes you through space and time for an experience beyond the borders of your mind. With influences ranging from Symphony X and Pagan’s Mind to Seventh Wonder and Dream Theater, Paralydium have created their own sound and expertly crafted melodies into a ‘best of both worlds’ sound.

"The writing process for this album started soon after our first release back in 2015,” says guitarist John Berg. "When the songs really started to come together, I began to feel that they had a certain interplay with each other which got me thinking on making this a conceptual album. The real challenge was to integrate all the elements, put the pieces together. As a result, the outcome is something more than just an ordinary album, just wait and you will see. Our music crosses many borders in terms of styles, so we believe that Paralydium and Frontiers will be a great team.”

Tracklisting:

"Enter Paralydium"
"Within The Sphere"
"Synergy"
"Finding The Paragon"
"Crystal Of Infinity"
"Awakening"
"The Source"
"Into Divinity"
"Seeker Of The Light"

ALDO NOVA - Live Quarantine Version Of "Monkey On Your Back" Posted (Video)

Canadian solo rock artist Aldo Nova has posted a special COVID-19  live version of his song "Monkey On Your Back", shot in quaratine with his band. The songs is taken from Aldo Nova's second album, Subject, released in 1983.

Aldo: "This version of 'Monkey On Your Back' - Live is a special version made especially for all the people that are stuck at home because of the Coronavirus, better known as COVID-19. 'Monkey On Your Back' was originally written and recorded on Aldo Nova's album Subject in 1983 and it was recognized as the first Anti-Drug anthem. It was, and is, about the devastating effects that heroin had on society. Now, 37 years later in 2020, the song is even more relevant than it was back then because of the resurgence of heroin in today's modern culture, except that today the drug is cut with an extremely powerful anesthetic known as Fentanyl, making it 100x more dangerous leading to an epidemic number of overdose casualties. Peace and stay safe we've beaten everything they've thrown at us before, we'll beat this Coronavirus together."

The band:

Aldo Nova - vocals, guitar
Billy Carmassi - drums
Timothy Gaines (ex-Stryper) - bass
Mike Bruno - guitar
Hugo St. Laurent - keyboards

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Looks Back On 'Sham Pain' Video In Latest Episode Of 'Quarantine Theater 2020'

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has launched the fifth episode of its "Quarantine Theater 2020" series. Taking inspiration from "Mystery Science Theater 3000", it features frontman Ivan Moody, guitarist Zoltan Bathory and bassist Chris Kael offering commentary on the band's past music videos.

The latest episode in the series focuses on the video for "Sham Pain", which originally appeared on FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's seventh album, 2018's "And Justice For None".

New "Quarantine Theater 2020" episodes will follow every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:00 p.m. ET.

According to the band, "Quarantine Theater 2020" will consist of "tell-all, behind the scenes, never before told stories of the making and meaning of 5FDP's music videos."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's latest album, "F8", was released on February 28. The follow-up to 2018's "And Justice For None" caps a turbulent period for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in which Moody finally got sober after a near-fatal struggle with addiction, while co-founding drummer Jeremy Spencer bowed out of the band due to physical issues.

Much of "F8"'s lyrical content deals with Moody's battle with addiction, its aftermath and his recovery. The singer celebrated two years of sobriety last month.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's spring tour with PAPA ROACH, I PREVAIL and ICE NINE KILLS has been postponed and rescheduled for the fall. The trek was originally due to run from April 8 to May 20, but will now kick off on September 28 in Sunrise, Florida.

Watch JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS Perform 'I Hate Myself For Loving You' On Rolling Stone's 'In My Room' Music Series

Rolling Stone and Gibson have teamed up to offer a special week-long series of music performances and give music fans the first-ever chance to make a charitable donation to support musicians worldwide and walk away with a piece of rock 'n' roll history.

Rolling Stone's "In My Room" presented by Gibson was headlined last Friday (April 24) with JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS performing the hard-rocking "I Hate Myself For Loving You" while the bandmembers stayed socially distant in their own homes.

"Gibson Guitars and Rolling Stone have been partners for over fifty years, so it seems natural to take our partnership to a new creative level for our fans during this challenging time," said James "JC" Curleigh, president and CEO of Gibson. "Along with our iconic artists, we are proud to support MusiCares through our Gibson Gives movement at such a pivotal time for musicians and the music industry."

"About a month ago, we launched 'In My Room' as a way to foster greater connection between Rolling Stone fans and the artists they admire most," added Gus Wenner, president and COO of Rolling Stone. "We found the perfect partner in Gibson, who similarly believes that music brings people comfort, and provides a welcome distraction and powerful message, particularly during stressful times in our society. We're thrilled to partner with the Gibson team and three extraordinary artists to give back to the music community through MusiCares at a moment when it's needed most."

To support the music community in these uncertain times, Joan Jett has teamed with Gibson guitars to donate an autographed, limited-edition Gibson Joan Jett ES 339 Electric Guitar — of which only 150 were made worldwide — for auction on CharityBuzz.com.

Proceeds from the auction organized by Gibson Gives — the charitable arm of Gibson — and Rolling Stone, will benefit the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund offering immediate financial assistance to musicians, production crews, and music industry creators.

Watch BILLY F GIBBONS's Newly Unearthed Performance Video For 'Missin' Yo' Kissin'' Feat. MATT SORUM

"Missin' Yo' Kissin'", a performance video shot towards the end of Billy F. Gibbons's 2018 tour, has just surfaced and been posted. Its relevance to the current circumstance of quarantine/shelter-in-place is implicit. The song, the creation of the video and the discovery of that video last week were all truly serendipitous.

November 11, 2018 found the ZZ TOP frontman at the Aztec Theater in San Antonio, Texas for a tour date in support of his then-recently released solo album "The Big Bad Blues" (Concord Music). The road band consisted of Gibbons (guitar), Matt Sorum (drums) and Austin Hanks (guitar), along with the participation of Billy's long-time guitar tech/guru Elwood Francis (harmonica).

At that afternoon's soundcheck, Sorum was introduced to Harry Reese by the venue's soundman. Reese, as it happens, is a Shiner, Texas-based photographer/videographer whose resume includes assignments with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, SHINEDOWN and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. He was equipped that day to do a one man-four camera shoot of the show. His services were engaged on the spot to chronicle the performance of "Missin' Yo' Kissin'", one of the group's standout numbers. Harry situated two stationary GoPro cameras on Sorum's drum stand and documented the proceedings as he scurried around the stage with two hand-held cameras. Once the tour concluded, the video was forgotten though "The Big Bad Blues" was not. It went on to win "Best Blues Rock Album" at the 2019 Blues Music Awards.

Billy was unable to attend the Blues Music Awards ceremonies in Memphis last year due to a ZZ TOP performance conflict but Gilligan Stillwater, Billy's paramour, most appropriately accepted the award on his behalf. The song was actually written by "Miz Gilly" who came up with it while waiting in the lobby of Foam Box Studios in Houston where the album was recorded. Through the control room window, Billy noticed her scribbling in a note book. That scribbling turned out to be the lyrics for "Missin' Yo' Kissin'" which was added to "The Big Bad Blues" tune stack immediately thereafter. After the song was recorded, Billy asked the rhetorical question, "She was writing that about me, wasn't she?!?"

Just last week, Sorum remembered the video. He unearthed the harddrive and shared it with Billy, whose social media team posted it immediately.

Says Gibbons: "It's fortuitous that Matt remembered the video and fished it out of his stick bag last week. Now, more than ever, this is an exemplar of our go-to phrase 'Blues You Can Use.'"
