The four members of METALLICA overcame social distancing to record a new version of their song "Blackened", with each member separated in his own home. The split-screen video was posted to the band's social media channels and can now be seen below.
The countrified rendition of the "...And Justice For All" opener was accompanied by the following message: "Here's a little something we cooked up over the last few days. Hope you’re all safe & sound. Have a great weekend."
This past Tuesday (April 28), METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich revealed in an online chat that the band could get together to write and record a new album while in quarantine.
Discussing METALLICA's plans to potentially get together to write and record a follow-up to 2016's "Hardwired...To Self-Destruct", Ulrich said: "The guys in METALLICA... we sit here and go, well, maybe in a month or two from now, is there a chance that the four of us can be together maybe at our studio here in Northern California, if the quarantine and stay-at-home orders subside — so on and so forth."
The drummer continued: "Will there be a METALLICA quarantine record? I can't tell you, because, again, I don't know how long the quarantine will last. But if you and I and the rest of the world are sitting here six months from now or a year from now, I'd say there's a very good chance."
METALLICA has been largely out of the public eye since last fall when the band canceled an Australian tour and announced that frontman James Hetfield was returning to rehab for the first time since 2002 to battle his addictions.
In March, METALLICA announced that its South American tour, which was originally planned for April, was postponed until December. In addition, the band's appearances at four Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festivals in May and September were canceled: Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, Sonic Temple in Columbus and Louder Than Life in Louisville.
Florida death metal duo Goregäng have released a new song “Farm The Mother” with a music video, which can be viewed below.
The group, which initially started as a studio project back in late 2015, features Jeramie Kling (Venom Inc, Massacre, The Absence) on vocals, and Taylor Nordberg (Massacre, The Absence) on drums and bass, with guitar duties being split between the two members. Releasing one self-titled EP in 2017, and a full length album, Neon Graves, in 2019 on Transcending Obscurity Records, the duo return with a fresh slab of filthy death metal.
On the new material Kling said: “I am quite pleased with the direction that we are heading in. It’s brutal both sonically and intellectually. We have our sights set on the goal to be the most lethal dose of buzzsaw and grime.”
The video was shot and edited by Daniel Wahlström at Heavy Groove Media, with band footage shot by Deidra and Jeramie Kling at Smoke & Mirrors Productions.
“Farm The Mother” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jeramie Kling at Smoke & Mirrors Productions in Spring Hill, Florida. It's available to purchase digitally at this location.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has launched the eighth episode of its "Quarantine Theater 2020" series. Taking inspiration from "Mystery Science Theater 3000", it features frontman Ivan Moody, guitarist Zoltan Bathory and bassist Chris Kael offering commentary on the band's past music videos.
The latest episode in the series focuses on the video for "Never Enough", which originally appeared on the re-release of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's debut album, 2007's "The Way Of The Fist".
New "Quarantine Theater 2020" episodes will follow every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
According to the band, "Quarantine Theater 2020" will consist of "tell-all, behind the scenes, never before told stories of the making and meaning of 5FDP's music videos."
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's latest album, "F8", was released on February 28. The follow-up to 2018's "And Justice For None" caps a turbulent period for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in which Moody finally got sober after a near-fatal struggle with addiction, while co-founding drummer Jeremy Spencer bowed out of the band due to physical issues.
Much of "F8"'s lyrical content deals with Moody's battle with addiction, its aftermath and his recovery. The singer celebrated two years of sobriety last month.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's spring tour with PAPA ROACH, I PREVAIL and ICE NINE KILLS has been postponed and rescheduled for the fall. The trek was originally due to run from April 8 to May 20, but will now kick off on September 28 in Sunrise, Florida.
Long-running California metallers ARMORED SAINT have released a new video for their digital single "Isolation (Live From Isolation)" — a live re-recording of the classic track "Isolation", which appeared on 1987's "Raising Fear" album. This new version was recorded and filmed in April 2020 while all of the band members were quarantined at their homes in Los Angeles.
Bassist Joey Vera comments: "Like everyone else right now, we're trying to make the best of the situation. So we decided to have a little fun with one of our older songs. It was fun playing with a stripped-down version of 'Isolation'; lyrically and sonically, it just fit for the times. Be safe everyone and enjoy your 'Isolation'!"
Frontman John Bush states: "With live shows in a sad state of limbo, we decided to come together (yet apart) and revisit the song 'Isolation' from the 1987 'Raising Fear' record. We did an acoustic, swampy take on it. It was a fun, raw project."
ARMORED SAINT recently completed work on its new studio album, due out in the fall via Metal Blade Records.
"We're overjoyed with the completion of the new ARMORED SAINT record," enthuses Bush. "We feel the songwriting has taken yet another giant step."
Vera adds: "We're super excited right now, putting final touches on our new record in the mastering stage. We really tried to challenge ourselves with both songwriting and performance, and the results are something we're taking with great pride."
The follow-up to 2015's "Win Hands Down" was tracked with veteran producer/engineer Bill Metoyer and Vera and was once again mixed by Jay Ruston (STONE SOUR, STEEL PANTHER, AMON AMARTH).
This past February, Bush told "The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show" about the upcoming disc: "I think it's gonna be an incredible record. I'm really proud of all the tunes that we've written, because it sounds like an ARMORED SAINT record for 2020.
"We always take the foundation of the origins of what this band is, but we always wanna push it and grow and try to push the envelopes and challenge ourselves as songwriters," he continued. "So, I think we do that."
Among the tracks set to appear on ARMORED SAINT's new LP are "My Jurisdiction" (described by Bush as "a little AEROSMITH-y), "Lone Wolf" and possible first single and video, "Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants", which is "a rad tune" with "a lot of moody changes in it and a big chorus," according to John.
More recently, Bush and Vera have been working on a song called "Unfair" which the singer described as "a slower song, but very, very moody. It's a different type of ballad, if you will, for ARMORED SAINT. It's awesome," he said.
"Win Hands Down" was released in June 2015 via Metal Blade.
ARMORED SAINT's latest album release was a live effort, "Carpe Noctum", which came out in February 2017.
Sebastian Bach has uploaded video footage of his October 1, 2019 concert at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, Georgia. The show was part of Bach/b>'s fall 2019 tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of SKID ROW's self-titled debut album.
Says Sebastian: "I really miss seeing y'all like crazy! I am sharing this footage with you because I know you are all bored & stir crazy sitting around your house and I know you miss going out to shows as much as we miss playin' 'em! I have all this footage so why not post it for you all instead of endless cell phone videos! I will upload as much as I can for everyone during this crappy time! Turn it up and rock on! Hope to see you this October 2020 for the fingers crossed tour!!!"
During the trek, Sebastian usually opened his 15-song set with "Tornado" — the LP's final track — and "Forever" before the singer performed the rest of "Skid Row" in order. As an encore, Sebastian played two songs from SKID ROW's 1991 album "Slave To The Grind": the title track and "Monkey Business".
Last June, Bach issued an "open invitation" to the other members of SKID ROW's classic lineup to "get onstage and jam" during the vocalist's recent tour. A few days later, during an interview with Finland's Kaaos TV, guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo confirmed that he would not accept Bach's latest overture. "I'm working with my band," he said. "This is SKID ROW, and this is what I do."
Drummer Rob Affuso — who left SKID ROW in 1998 and claims to be "the only former member that keeps in contact with all former SKID ROW bandmates and is still good friends with them all" — subsequently joined Bach on September 25 at Sony Hall in New York City to play the band's classic song "Makin' A Mess".
Asked by Rolling Stone if he thinks his former bandmates are offended that he put his invitation out there publicly, Bach said: "No. I think it's an ego thing. They don't like when I get attention, and they don't get attention. It's always been like that. I can already see them getting mad, because I'm selling out shows, and they're not part of the show, and blah, blah, blah."
A video playthrough of the LAMB OF GOD song "Memento Mori", featuring guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, can be seen below. The track opens the band's forthcoming self-titled album, which is due on June 19 via Epic Records. The follow-up to "VII: Sturm Und Drang" marks LAMB OF GOD's first recordings with Art Cruz, who joined the band last July as the replacement for the group's founding drummer, Chris Adler.
"Lamb Of God" was recorded with longtime producer Josh Wilbur (KORN, MEGADETH, GOJIRA, TRIVIUM) and includes special guest appearances by Jamey Jasta (HATEBREED) and Chuck Billy (TESTAMENT).
Executed from a narrative treatment written by vocalist D. Randall Blythe, the "Memento Mori" video features the band (Morton and Adler, bassist John Campbell, drummer Art Cruz, and Blythe) performing the unrelenting album opener. Lyrically and visually, the message of both the song and video are extremely topical, offering hope at a time of societal and personal upheaval.
"There is a vast amount of indisputably real and depressingly negative occurrences happening across the globe," Blythe explains. "Currently, at the forefront of everyone's mind is the global COVID-19 pandemic. This is a very real concern, and proper precautions need to be taken by EVERYONE in order to protect those most at risk — the elderly, infirm, and immunocompromised. It is indeed a scary time, but in this hyper-connected age with its 24/7 never-ending news cycle of atrocity, outrage and lurid click-bait headlines (not to mention ill-informed lunatics running amok and spreading misinformation and panic on social media), it is all too easy to lose sight of the fact that life is still carrying on, and good things do in fact still happen.
"Months before the COVID-19 outbreak occurred, I wrote 'Memento Mori' as a reminder to myself to not be consumed by the omnipresent electronic harbingers of doom that surround us — cellphones, computers, and television screens," he continued. "While these devices can be useful tools, and it is important to stay informed, it is equally important to remain engaged with the real, physical world we with live in, not just digitally filtered representations of reality. I wrote the narrative music video treatment a few months ago to illustrate how warped and myopic our mental states can become when we fail to remain engaged with that reality — if all you pay attention to is catastrophe, then soon you will begin to see monsters everywhere you look. The actual monsters we used in the video are Sinisteria, a local Richmond, Virginia haunted house/dark performance troupe I met on the street at our annual Krampus Nacht parade. Richmond has a strong tradition of loud music and weird costumed monsters working hand in hand to make salient points (we are the birthplace of GWAR, after all), and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Music has always been there for me, raising my spirits during hard times, and it is my hope that this song's positive message will do the same for fans of our music right now and beyond. The release date for the tune was set a good while ago, but the timing seems eerily prescient to me now. So enjoy the song and video, and then remember to step away from the screens for a bit — real life is waiting for you. We only get one shot, so don't waste this day. Everyone be well, keep a cool head, take care of yourselves, and take care of EACH OTHER."
Regarding the music, Morton adds: "I had been sitting with the music for the intro and the post chorus for quite a while. I was trying to develop those two parts as separate songs altogether and was a little bit stumped, particularly with the intro piece. Me, Willie and Josh Wilbur (producer) were doing demos in the studio and the idea came up to try to mash those parts into the same tune and everything just took off. It was one of those times where once I knew what we were trying to do, the riffs just kind of fell out of me like they were writing themselves. It's always a crazy feeling when that happens. Vocally, Randy heard the intro and said he instantly got a throwback SISTERS OF MERCY-type vibe from it and he took off from there."

LAMB OF GOD is scheduled to join forces with MEGADETH for a North American tour this summer and fall.
Sammy Hagar and his CIRCLE bandmates Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson have once teamed up via the Internet to record music.
After previously connecting via their smartphones from four separate locations to lay down a brand new song titled "Funky Feng Shui", as well as covers of THE WHO's iconic track "Won't Get Fooled Again", VAN HALEN's "Good Enough" and BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS' "Three Little Birds", they have now regrouped — in a virtual sense — to cover AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie". Check out video of the performance below.
Last month, SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE canceled its previously announced South American shows, which were scheduled to take place in March, due to the escalation of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
At the moment, SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE is still scheduled to embark on a summer 2020 U.S. tour with NIGHT RANGER. WHITESNAKE recently pulled out of the trek so that frontman David Coverdale can undergo surgery for bilateral inguinal hernia.
SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE released their debut studio album, "Space Between", last May.
"Man Alive", a new song from legendary hard rockers DEEP PURPLE, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming DEEP PURPLE album, "Whoosh!", which will be released on August 7 via earMUSIC.
"It's an abstract concept," frontman and lyricist Ian Gillan told Billboard about the song. "There was an apocalyptic quality to the (music of) 'Man Alive', and the idea developed lyrically from there — the scenario of this event that took place and everyone got killed, and you get this picture of 'all creatures great and small grazed on blood red soil, and grass that grows on city streets.' So it's a post-humanity scenario. And then all of a sudden something's washed up on the beach, and it turns out to be a man, and it's the only living man — but it's just a man, so...That's the end of humanity, because what use is one man? That was the idea. If it was a painting, you'd call it impressionistic."
DEEP PURPLE's 21st studio LP was once again helmed by Canadian producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, PINK FLOYD, ALICE COOPER), who also worked on the band's last two studio albums, 2017's "Infinite" and 2013's "Now What?!" Together they created the most versatile album in their collaboration. DEEP PURPLE "stretched out in all directions" without any limitation, letting their creativity go.
"DEEP PURPLE is putting the Deep back into Purple" was the half-joking motto in the studio after the first songs made it clear that Ezrin and PURPLE were on their path to creating an album pushing the boundaries of time, while voicing their resentment about the current situation of the world and addressing all generations.
"Whoosh!" will be available as limited CD+DVD mediabook (including the one-hour feature "Roger Glover And Bob Ezrin In Conversation" and, for the first time, the full live performance at Hellfest 2017 as video), 2LP+DVD edition, limited boxset and digital.
"We've included everything that made the whole band smile, including Bob Ezrin. We've always enjoyed making music and having the incredible luxury of a loyal audience," said guitarist Steve Morse.

German-Italian melodic metal act, The Unity, have released a new single and video for the song "You Don't Walk Alone". The song is taken from the new studio album, Pride. Watch the video below.
Following two successful studio albums (The Unity, 2017 and Rise, 2018), tours with Axel Rudi Pell, Edguy and Sinner, among others, not to mention their own headlining shows and performances at renowned festivals all over Europe, the latest album release by power metal act The Unity, entitled Pride, documents the group’s consistent and at the same time impressive development.
“I’d describe our current material not merely as an evolvement, because every band evolves in one way or another. In fact, I’m pretty proud of what we’ve achieved so far, not only in musical terms but also on a personal level,” says Gianbattista Manenti, Italian vocalist of the tight unit, as he likes to refer to it, consisting of himself, drummer Michael Ehré (Primal Fear, Gamma Ray, Firewind), guitarists Henjo Richter (Gamma Ray) and Stef, bassist Jogi Sweers and keyboardist Sascha Onnen.
In view of increasingly nationalistic tendencies worldwide and misconceived patriotism it may not be altogether innocuous to voice a pride in your own achievements, yet pride in itself is apolitical and lacks any kind of political undertones. So there are not only valid but also exclusively artistic reasons that made The Unity decide to combine their eleven new songs (plus intro) under the heading of Pride. Every single note speaks of that homogeneity, no matter how noisy or how quiet, tough or mellow, determined or laid-back its delivery.
Pride is available on 2CD digipak, 2LP gatefold, download and stream. Order here.

Nautic funeral doom heavyweights, Ahab, have released the first single, “Old Thunder”, off their first live album, Live Prey, to be released on June 26 via Napalm Records.
Originally released in 2006 on the band's pathbreaking full length, The Call Of The Wretched Sea, this blackened doom anthem will take you on a thunderous journey between slow-motion grooves, big riffs, haunting melodies accented by the guttural vocals of Daniel Droste, and an apocalyptic sound as you would experience it front row at an Ahab show. “Old Thunder” is accompanied by a music video that contains loads of live and off stage footage, as well as touring snapshots, highlighting the bands message: It's a big “thank you” to all of their fans and supporters worldwide who have joined the band in their funeral doom journey throughout the past 15 years.
Drummer Cornelius Althammer on “Old Thunder”: "Throughout the last 15 years, we’ve gained a lot of experience, on and off stage, to create the incomparable Ahab sound and feeling. 'The Hunt' is probably one of our most classic picks to choose, but with a length of nearly 17 minutes, it simply blows up the playtime of a regular single even more than other songs. So, here you go! Except the length, 'Old Thunder' is in no way inferior to 'The Hunt' - thank you all for so many years of loyalty. Without YOU, we wouldn't be the same band now!”
For Live Prey, Ahab chose the finest selection of live tracks - originally released on their pathbreaking 2006 album, The Call Of The Wretched Sea! Gracefully nestled in between slow-motion grooves, rampant riffs, and haunting melodies, and accented by the angelic but guttural vocals of Daniel Droste, the listener will experience an apocalyptic live sound as if they are standing in the front row at the band’s unforgettable show.
Featuring five extreme doom anthems such as “Below The Sun”, the majestic beast “Old Thunder”, or the almost 17-minute long magnum opus “The Hunt”, Live Prey is the ultimate live record by the undisputed sailors of slow heaviness. An indispensable must-have album that belongs in every well-sorted doom and especially Ahab record collection.
Cornelius Althammer: "We are pretty proud to present our first live album: These songs were written a long time ago, even before we became a proper band. Over the years and with a bunch of new live experiences, the songs have evolved and we were finally given the chance to capture them in a way they deserve. The days you have seen us perform them live, the way the songs have developed - you were able to witness the process on how we became Ahab."
Live Prey will be available in the following formats:
- CD Digipak
- 2 LP Gatefold White (ltd. to 100 copies)
- 2 LP Gatefold Black (ltd. to 300 copies)
- 2 LP Gatefold Black and White swirl

Germany's Ben Blutzukker has released a metal cover of Army Of Lovers' 1991 hit "Crucified", feat. Liv Kristine. You can stream and download the single here.

FIREWIND, the band featuring former OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Gus G., has released the official music video for the song "Welcome To The Empire". The track is taken from the band's ninth, self-titled studio album, which will be made available on May 15. The clip was directed by Panagiotis Kountouras, while the visual effects and post-production was handled by Media Distribution Partners.
Gus G. states: "'Welcome To The Empire' is the opening track of the album and an obvious choice for a single. Making the video was an ongoing work in progress as we filmed the band performance back in January. However, we wanted to blend in futuristic visual effects for the story and as I'm a huge sci-fi movie fan, I wanted to incorporate something along those lines. Our director Panagiotis Kountouras came up with the concept and we collaborated with MDP, a VFX company out of Hollywood, California. The story is set in a dystopia, where humanity has been surrendered to the New World Order. Two cyborgs are playing with the future of mankind in a chess game. Each move has consequences and technology will be the only winner. It was a really challenging production, but we love the end result. We hope you will too."
FIREWIND recently parted ways with guitarist/keyboardist Bob Katsionis and singer Henning Basse. The group's new vocalist is Herbie Langhans, who has previously played with AVANTASIA and SINBREED.
With his charismatic voice, Langhans (AVANTASIA, RADIANT, SEVENTH AVENUE) refines each and every last one of the new songs and infuses them with an expressive force that is remarkable.
Gus and Langhans got to know each other back in the autumn of 2019, when the FIREWIND leader was looking for a suitable replacement for Henning Basse after the tour with QUEENSRŸCHE. Just a few weeks later, the recordings for "Firewind" were a done deal, ready for Swedish sound engineer Tobias Lindell (EUROPE, AVATAR, H.E.A.T.) to mix them in Lindell Audio Studios.
The result is impressive indeed. "Firewind" boasts 11 prime examples of melodic metal songs. The skill, craftsmanship and power bleeds through every note, a passion you can almost taste, with hymnal melodies as a particularly outstanding feature.
The Scandinavian Superdudes Psychopunch have released a very special video for their song "I'll Be Home Tonight".
Read on what vocalist Jarmo has to say about it:
“In these uncertain times we live in at the moment with the COVID-19 virus, no shows, no entertainment and with people having to stay at home for their own safety, I came up with an idea that I talked to my good friend Dirk ‘The Pixeleye’ Behlau about and he loved the idea.
“We asked people we played with, worked with, know and respect if they want to be part of a new video to one of the songs (‘I'll Be Home Tonight’) from our latest album Greetings From Suckerville.
“Everyone just filmed what they wanted - singing, playing, drinking, whatever - and film it with their mobile phones so that Dirk can edit it the footage, creating a full-length video.
“Unfortunately, not everyone had the time to participate since they are busy working with other stuff at home and we couldn't ask everyone.
“But I'm really happy that so many had the time and took the effort to be part of this, like Schmier (Destruction), Majsan (Thundermother), Dregen (Backyard Babies/The Hellacopters), Jonas (At The Gates), Beef Bonanza (The Bones), Nitrogods or Andy Brings (Double Crush Syndrome), among others. Thanks a lot, stay safe and healthy and enjoy this ‘lockdown edition’ masterpiece of a video!”
Dual twin harpists, Camille And Kennerly, return with another cover; this time taking on Billy Idol's "Dancing With Myself". Watch the video below.
A message states: "'Dancing With Myself' has been on our “to do” list of covers for a long time because well... we’re twins! And what better time to post this cover, than a time in the world when everyone is pretty much dancing with themselves?! ;) ;) We get comments daily online from people saying that we’re just one person. We had so much fun playing with that by starting the piece with just one of us, and then having the other twin join in. However, for those people who insist that we’re one person, you can see us clasp hands at the end. ;) ;) We thought this was the perfect song to bring back our 2 Girls 1 Harp invention! Arranging this song for 1 harp was hugely challenging to begin with, but we also wanted to add a dancing element, so we twirl around the harp and switch sides 5 times! So, we switch off playing the harp correctly and playing the harp backwards (and from the side!) - and yes, that is extremely difficult! haha. You’ll also hear quite a bit of harp percussion! We hope you enjoy our interpretation of this timeless rock classic! This video was filmed by our mom on our phone. Everything you hear in our arrangement is exactly how we can perform it live with our 2 harps and voices: no backing tracks, loops, or harp overlays."
Professionally-filmed video footage of Metallica performing "One", at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland on May 11, 2018, can be seen below:
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich joined Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff on Tuesday (April 28) for an instalment of the live streamed fireside chat series to discuss how Metallica are staying connected and giving back through All Within My Hands Foundation. Watch below.
During the chat, Lars was asked about the possibility of the band recording new music while in quarantine:
"A lot of that will, obviously, have to do with how long stay-at-home orders stay in place. A lot of that will have to do with if there's a second wave of the virus. Who knows what our world will look like six months from now? But, obviously, the one thing that you can depend on with creative people, for better or worse, is that they can't sit still for very long. And I can tell you that on these weekly Metallica Zoom sessions, we are talking about how we can just be a band again. And there are many different phases to being in a band, but the most basic one, and certainly where it started 37 years ago, is to just have four guys playing music together. The fact that it ends up being shared all over the world and connecting with millions of people, that's much later and a whole different thing. But at its core essence is just four guys in a room, or connected via Zoom, the Zoom Room, making music together. And I can tell you that all four of us are really excited about what that could look like. So, will there be a Metallica quarantine record? I can't tell you, because, again, I don't know how long the quarantine will last. But if you and I and the rest of the world are still sitting here six months from now or a year from now, I'd say there's a very good chance."
Frontiers Music Srl has announced that Latvian hard rockers, Bloody Heels, will release their new album, Ignite The Sky, on July 10. Today, the band has premiered the first single and video from the album, "Criminal Masterminds". Watch the video below. Stream the single and pre-order/save the album here.
"Ignite The Sky has some pretty heavy songs, but at the same time there’s plenty of melodic stuff, harmonies and big choruses. I like to call this album ‘Dark AOR’, haha! We managed to blend everything we love about music, to be honest. But one thing is for sure, we’ve never felt such a strong connection with the songs before,” says singer Vicky White of the upcoming album.
Regarding the first single, White continues, "'Criminal Masterminds' is definitely one of our heaviest songs to date. It was also one of the last songs we wrote for the album, just a month or so before we headed to the studio. Me and Harry were waiting on the other guys in our rehearsal room, messing around with some different guitar tunings and came up with the main riff. Then Gus and Gunn came and the rest is history. It's one of those songs that came together in just a couple of hours. We wanted to release this song as the first single because I think that it captures what Bloody Heels is about now. It's a bit heavier and more in your face, but still quite melodic, with a big chorus and lots of harmonies. It's quite different from anything what we've done before, but doesn't abandon who we are."
"We made the music video with Ivo Skanstins (director) and his team, which was a no-brainer as we'd done two videos together already that we were really happy with. He knows us well and we know him well. It was filmed in one day right before our European tour last October. A magical day for us, really. I also want to give a big thanks to all the people that were involved in the video and who volunteered their time and talent. We filmed the video outside in quite cold weather while the water was pouring on us was FREEZING. Luckily, we didn't got sick because we had to leave for tour 48 hours later," explains White.
Adds White, "I also want to say that of course we all know what's happening right now in the world. Hopefully we can cheer some people up with this song and video! We have to remember that we are all one in spirit and the only way we're gonna crawl out of this mess is together! Stay home, stay healthy, and keep up the positive vibes!"
Latvian hard rockers Bloody Heels recently joined the Frontiers label’s rapidly expanding pool of young talent and one listen to their debut album will easily explain why the label HAD to sign them up. With nods to the great ‘80s hard rock scene, but also bordering on heavy metal (listen to those kicks drums on first single ‘Criminal Masterminds’), this band is a delightful mix of catchy and driving. With a great whisky-soaked sounding throat, vocalist Vicky White provides the perfect voice for the thunder and lightning that guitarist Harry Rivers, bassist Gunn Everett, and drummer Gus Hawk are raining down upon us.
Formed in 2012 in Riga, Latvia, Bloody Heels have a musical style that could be best described as a sort of missing link between Crashdïet and Crazy Lixx, with heavier elements like early W.A.S.P. and Kissin’ Dynamite. The band have already made a name for themselves with the EP Summer Nights (2014) and the album Through Mystery (2017). They’ve played shows all around Europe including Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, and the Baltic States.

Finnish Heinola-based metal band Where's My Bible have released a new single and music video, "Werewolves Of Ghost Town", via Inverse Records. Check it out below.
Singer Jussi Matilainen comments:
"In this music video we took the same direction which the song has, quite dark and serious. In this video I wanted to honour my friend who passed away and that gives more seriousness to this piece. We tried to show the dark sides of life. Those things can happen to anyone regardless of your life situation.
The base of the videos outlook and theme was the name and lyrics. That why it was really important to combine wolves in it. They portray the evil inside us and also the inner wolf. Both good and bad.
I never thought that when I saw Wardruna's music video 'Voluspá' that we would have opportunity to use those exactly same wolves on our video. That was really meaningful and inspiring moment of building this project. Making this video was hard work and we are grateful to all who made this happen."
Guitarist Pasi Löfgrén continues:
"Of W.M.B's production the new track offers a darker more melodic side and it strongly shows the direction we are headed musically. Some of the riffs have been waiting in the drawer since our first release. In fact they are from the second song ever written for W.M.B. But after all these years we decided to start working on it again, which turned out to be a good decision. The song changed a lot of its shape and as the pieces fell together perfectly we managed to create something new and beautiful and still sound like ourselves. The finished product is guaranteed Where's My Bible quality."
Where's My Bible was formed in Heinola, Finland in 2014. Their music blends rock and punk influences with death and black metal. The band is no stranger to the big stages, having performed on the main stage of Tuska Open Air, and made an appearance at the Russian Emergenza final. They released their debut album, M 'N' R, on September 21st, 2018 via Inverse Records.
