PAINTED DOLL, the new band formed by comedian/guitar shredder Dave Hill and extreme metal veteran Chris Reifert (AUTOPSY, DEATH), has inked a deal with the New York City independent label Tee Pee Records. The group's self-titled debut, recorded and mixed by Tom Beaujour at Nuthouse Recording in Hoboken, New Jersey, will be released on February 16, 2018.
PAINTED DOLL came to life when "a death metal guy and a power-pop guy got hammered together at a GOBLIN concert in Texas." Soon after, Reifert and Hill began trying to out-deep cut each other with late '60s/early '70s Dutch and British psych pop before Chris suggested the two musicians form a band together inspired by the music they'd been trading.
What does PAINTED DOLL sound like, you ask? Let's let the band do the talking...
"The PAINTED DOLL record was a blast to make," says Hill. "Chris is a death metal legend from the Bay Area and I'm a guy from Cleveland who worships THE KINKS. Throw in our mutual love for obscure Dutch bands from the seventies and you've got PAINTED DOLL. We're super psyched to be working with Tee Pee Records to unleash our stone-cold jams on the masses."
"After getting to know Dave and talking about psychedelic bands and stuff, it was clear that PAINTED DOLL needed to happen," adds Reifert. "The powers of rock gave us our mission, which we gladly accepted. Now you can hear the visions that we had bouncing around in our heads. Foxes and rabbits, velvet and leather, smoldering rock and spacey psych....what else do you need? Play it loud and proud, babies!"
Luckily, there's zero waiting period to hear the culmination of this peculiar pairing as PAINTED DOLL has released a video for the record's lead track "Together Alone". Check it out below.
Swedish black metallers WATAIN will release their new studio album, "Trident Wolf Eclipse", on January 5, 2018. The effort will be made available as an LP, standard CD, limited CD digipak, digitally as well as in a limited deluxe box set of three thousand copies. The album will also be available in a variation of different vinyl colors from selected mailorder/retail stores.
"After twenty years of carving our own path through and out of the world, 'Trident Wolf Eclipse' feels like a worthy point of arrival indeed," says WATAIN. "One of power and force, shining a new harsh light upon all that has been, those that perished along the way, the life altering struggle and triumphant ecstasy of WATAIN. 'Trident Wolf Eclipse' is, however, not about the past, nor the future, it is about here and now, and we sincerely look forward to show you all what that implies. To all those that are as impatient as we are for that day to come, thank you for your unending support and see you soon."

Canadian metal veterans ANNIHILATOR have released an extra-gory, NSFW (not-safe-for-work) video for the song "Pieces Of You". The track is taken from the band's sixteenth studio album, "For The Demented", which will be released on November 3 via Neverland Music/Silver Lining Music. The effort will be available in a limited-edition digipack with lenticular cover, a jewel-case CD, a twelve-inch 180-gram colored vinyl in gatefold and digital download. "The following contains a graphic interpretation of a true crime story that includes potentially disturbing images and lyrical content," says ANNIHILATOR's Jeff Waters abut the video. "We realize this is not exactly the most pleasant subject to write about, however, in the world of being a writer and musician, sometimes these stories can spawn a song! While many of the songs from the new album, 'For The Demented', have positive messages in them, this one does not! Waters adds: "This is about a criminally insane guy who murdered his 'annoying' girlfriend to 'silence' her voice. He then eats pieces of her, as a means of keeping her alive inside of him. Yeah, crazy, but when you watch horror movies, crime shows and own a few CANNIBAL CORPSE t-shirts, this is tame in comparison. "I like the three dimensions of this: seeing the lyrics roll by: hearing/feeling the music and watching the horror... almost difficult to take it all in, in one view. "Enjoy 'Pieces Of You', if you can!"
"For The Demented" track listing:
01. Twisted Lobotomy02. One To Kill03. For The Demented04. Pieces of You05. The Demon You Know06. Phantom Asylum 07. Altering The Alter08. The Way09. Dark10. Not All There
Pre-orders are now live at this location. "It was time to analyze what a lot of fans over the years have kept telling me," says Waters. "It was time to sit down and figure out 'why' ANNIHILATOR's early 'thrash-meets-melodic' caught the ears of so many and to try to sweep the 'fan' part of my writing/playing/singing out the door and welcome back the mostly original Waters writing that was to be the first four ANNIHILATOR albums." Waters didn't venture back alone while looking back through ANNIHILATOR's history. "I was well aware that trying to re-capture the past usually fails, or at least won't come close," he says. "So, I decided to bring in fresh ears, both musically and physically with Rich Hinks, my bassist for the last few years. And doing most all of the records by myself, including writing and playing most all on my own, as well as mixing, mastering, engineering, etc… well, it can become routine and can often hinder you from being objective and more creative. "Rich came in and co-wrote the music with me, as well as co-produced the beginning stages of the record. His background of classic thrash metal meets a newer 'math' metal style was the perfect combination for me to simply ask, 'What do you think of this?' He would most-often reply with 'not the ANNIHILATOR style I like,' so we would keep going until we both felt that core ANNIHILATOR riffing and writing style presented itself."
Jeff continues: "Bottom line, 'For The Demented' captures some feel from ANNIHILATOR's 1985-87 demos mixed with the first four ANNIHILATOR records. Back to the thrash-meets-melody but with some pure Waters guitar riffing, upgraded lead guitar shredding and vocals back to the demo days meets the 'King of The Kill' record. Lyrically, I placed a theme on the record: the human mind and all of its glory, complexity, diversity, weaknesses and insanity! Pretty much the craziness of the music is matched by the lyrics. "I think metal fans are going to hear much of what they have been waiting for from ANNIHILATOR," adds Waters. Since 1989, ANNIHILATOR have not stopped putting out records and touring the world. Despite the ever-changing climate of the metal world (and releasing a series of "different" metal records with various lineups along the way), Waters and company have consistently delivered strong albums since the band's debut, "Alice In Hell". Then there was 1990's best-selling "Never, Neverland", 1995's "King Of The Kill", "Schizo Deluxe" in 2005 and many other critically acclaimed releases up until "Suicide Society". The "under-the-radar" influence of this band, and Waters, has been felt throughout the entire realm of the metal world by a ton of well-known musicians and bands; that influence even stretching into the hard rock and instrumentalist genre. Waters, in his usual humble manner, offers this in response: "ANNIHILATOR's music has been influenced by a good hundred of my favorite bands and musicians; you can hear their contributions to what I have been doing all throughout ANNIHILATOR's catalog. It's a bonus and an honor when bands and musicians I love mention that I had something to do with their playing or songs!" ANNIHILATOR is:

The Dead Daisies found inspiration in the excess of their rock 'n roll lifestyles for the video for their new song "She Always Gets Her Way (All The Same)", reports Allison Stubblebine of Billboard. Check out the clip below.
The visuals enlist a choppy animation style to depict a coke fueled, drama-filled narrative in which the frontman finds trouble with the fact that his significant other enjoys a similar lifestyle to him.
Vocalist John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, Union, The Scream), had plenty to say about the inspiration behind the track, explaining, "In lieu of some of the psychotic and crazy women that I somehow managed to find and get involved with, writing the lyrics for this was quite easy! I've kinda realized that I'm 'that guy' that could walk into a nudist colony in a full-length fur coat and ski mask, and I would be the one that left with mosquito bites! That's my life with women, well in the past anyway... hopefully!"
Los Angeles-based metal band, Phinehas, have released the powerful new song and video "Hell Below”. The clip is available for streaming below.
"'Hell Below' is a dialogue between murdered North Korean civilians and the guilty Kim Dynasty, which has committed democide a thousand times over. It peers into the concentration camps that the higher ups of North Korea deny the existence of: where thousands are murdered, starved, tortured, and exploited every year," the band said. "This music video is Part One of Two of the story of 'Jayu' ('freedom 'in Korean) as he attempts to escape the grip of a North Korean concentration camp while freeing another prisoner along the way."
The band will release its new album, Dark Flag, on November 17 via Solid State Records. It's available for pre-order here.
Dark Flag is a concept album stemming from the atrocities committed by the Kim regime in North Korea. Said frontman Sean McCulloch, "This album isn't a political statement. This isn't a conservative or liberal agenda. Dark Flag is about human rights and how precious and valuable life is."

APF Records has revealed the video for "Devil" by UK sludge band, BongCauldron. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, Binge, which will be released in November. Watch the video below, and pre-order the album on vinyl here.
The band commented “‘Devil’ was written on a decline into self-destructive alcoholic despair. This song envisages depression as a force that will never leave you. A disease that no one can fully see but yourself. Everywhere you go, everywhere you look, every time you speak its standing right next to you ready to smash you in the teeth.”
Recorded by Chris Fielding of Conan in his Skyhammer Studio, Binge will be available on limited edition green vinyl, black vinyl, limited edition digipak CD and digital formats.
Since the release of their eponymous EP in 2014 the band has built up a huge buzz in the UK underground, resulting in support slots with Corrosion Of Conformity, Eyehategod, Pentagram, Weedeater, Yob, Windhand and Monolord among others. Binge combines the titanic riffs, monstrous grooves and West Yorkshire swagger that has made the band a must-see live attraction.
About BongCauldron: "Born, got drunk, played riffs, we'll eventually die.”

Michigan rockers POP EVIL have released a brand new single and music video for a track called "Waking Lions". The song is taken from the band's fifth studio album, "Pop Evil", which will be released on February 16, 2018 via Entertainment One. The band collaborated on the record with veteran producer Kato Khandwala and has been hard at work since early June. The sessions took place over the summer in Nashville, Tennessee at Studio A in Sound Emporium Studios and earlier this month at Sphere Studios in Los Angeles, California.
"This is a dawn of a new day for POP EVIL," says vocalist Leigh Kakaty. "The new lineup feels like a whole new chapter for us. We could not be more proud to lead off this new album cycle with 'Waking Lions', sending a positive message to our fans.”
POP EVIL teamed up with Columbia Tatone on the video and is thrilled with the outcome. "Columbia brought a unique and distinctive approach with her visuals for our new music video," Leigh says. "We really feel she delivered the energy that the song carries."
POP EVIL bassist Matt DiRito told the WRIF radio station that the band spent the "longest time in the studio ever" recording the follow-up to 2015's "Up" album. "Usually our turnaround is about three months in the studio. And this time we've been working on it since, like, May," he said.
"We're just taking our time," he continued. "We're working with a different producer. His approach is… he's very thorough with all the sounds and the songs. Instead of having some crazy digital samples, like if we have some weird effect we wanna do, he'll make us sit down and do it organically with, like, tambourines and shakers and triangles. All those little things, I think, kind of improve the quality, overall, of the album sonically, and I think it's time well spent, but it's just overall taking longer."
"Pop Evil" marks the recording debut with the band of British drummer Hayley Cramer, who joined POP EVIL in 2016 following the departure of Josh "Chachi" Marunde.
Kakaty previously said that the band recorded "close to twenty songs" for its next LP. He has called the sessions for the effort "the smoothest recording process to date."
BUTCHER BABIES have released the music video for their single "Headspin". The track is taken from the band's third album, "Lilith", which was released on October 27 via Century Media. The follow-up to 2015's "Take It Like A Man" was produced by Steve Evetts (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SEPULTURA, SUICIDE SILENCE) and marks the band's recording debut with new drummer, Chase Brickenden, who replaced Chris Warner last year. Co-frontwoman Carla Harvey states about the clip: "With 'Headspin', we finally wrote about a topic that we've strayed away from for years: sex, one of the most basic human needs. This song drips sensuality and we wanted the video for it to do the same.
"We enlisted two pros, Jessa Rhodes and Zander Corvus, to tell this story of lust for us and towed the lines of truth versus fantasy by experimenting with virtual reality. It's also a bit of social commentary on how much of our reality is skewed in this social media-driven world."
"Lilith" track listing:
01. Burn The Straw Man02. Lilith03. Headspin04. Korova05. #Iwokeuplikethis06. The Huntsman07. Controller08. Oceana09. Look What We've Done10. Pomona (S**t Happens)11. Underground And Overrated
Harvey told Meltdown Of Detroit's WRIF radio station that the music on "Lilith" "runs the gamut" from "great thrash metal" to "a little bit of '90s influence." She said: "We're singing, we're screaming and it's just a great, great album. I couldn't be prouder of it. I think there's four songs where we do predominantly singing on it. And normally that would scare even me, 'cause I'm, like, 'I'm a metal girl! I don't wanna be singing.' But it's so beautiful — it really is. So it's kind of ballady, but not too ballady. It's very dark, sensual — the lyrics are very sensual on this album."
She continued: "I think we're bringing a little bit of the sexy back on this album that we kind of steered away from for a while. When we were building up our career, we wanted to be taken so seriously as metal chicks, so I think we kind of let those hindrances go a little bit and said, 'Let's just be us in all aspects of us' — from the metal to the sexy to everything else."
Although there is a lot of variety on BUTCHER BABIES' latest effort, Carla was quick to point out that "I couldn't do an album with no thrash on it, 'cause that's my passion. I think my favorite song on the album is a completely ridiculous thrash metal song that you'll hear," she said. "It's just amazing. In fact, one line in the song is about my Corvette that is always broken down. I have a '75 Corvette, 'cause I'm a real Detroit girl with a real American car. The song has completely ridiculous lyrics, but it's so cool — total thrash."
Regarding BUTCHER BABIES' collaboration with Evetts, Carla said: "He doesn't do any Auto-Tuning or any pitching or anything like that, so every note on this album is a hundred percent authentic. And it's really cool to be able to say that about an album nowadays, I think, because people are so used to hearing everything Auto-Tuned and touched up and fixed up. This album is exactly what we've always wanted to do — it's something passionate and raw — and we're all just over the moon for it."
She added: "That's the one thing that we've always wanted to capture, because I think that we're a great live band, and when you're a good live band, you wanna capture that energy, and we finally found a producer that can help harness that live energy, actually, into the album."
BUTCHER BABIES are supporting HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD on a U.S. tour which kicked off on October 1 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Courtesans on "Feel The Same" - "A tale of deception, desperation and resignation. It’s about a hollow belief in other people’s honour, honesty and good intentions when dealing with your emotions.Holding on to what you thought you were told was true but being confronted with the chilling reality of having been lied to and then left alone to battle the pain of understanding the lies you were spun, questioning everything you thought was real."

UK quartet, Skarlett Riot, have released a video for the new song “Warrior”, featured on the band’s Regenerate album, out today via Despotz Records. Watch below.
The band’s new material is harder, heavier, faster but still driven by the anthemic hooks that have kept them at the forefront of the UK modern metal scene. The band have constantly developed and honed their craft; and the band are in comfortable in their darker and heavier guise, with elements of Asking Alexandria, In This Moment and Bullet for My Valentine shining through; opening up all new possibilities for the band.
A press release states: “Whereas their peers are all seemingly heading towards a lighter direction, Skarlett Riot are embracing the anger and aggression of the modern world and challenging it into some of their most challenging material to date. The commanding voice of Skarlett has taken on a bolder and more forceful presence, whilst the guitars of Danny are razor sharp and incisive, giving the rhythm section of Luke and Martin the room to progress and expand into a taut, almost hostile driving force, as the first single ‘Break’ ably demonstrates!”
Progressive death metal band, Uncured, have released a video for the track “Opium Den”.
"91 people die every day from an opioid overdose." - US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
"Opium Den" is an exposé that explores the consequences of opioid addiction. Directed by David Brodsky, metal's iconic film-maker, the video is a harsh microcosm that illustrates the impact of opioid abuse while still capturing the humanity of the disease's victims. “Opium Den” vividly depicts how the disease of opioid addiction can attack any family, putting even children at risk. We hope it alerts viewers to the risks and consequences of opioid abuse.
1755 marks the year of the horror when a giant earthquake destroyed the city of Lisbon. Almost 100,000 souls lost their lives, and this tragic event still belongs to one of the disastrous catastrophes in European history and nature. 2017 and in remembrance of the victims and the band's hometown, will mark the year of Moonspell’s new album, 1755, the 13th studio record by the Portuguese dark metal pioneers, which will see the light of day on November 3rd via Napalm Records.
Moonspell have released an official video for "In Tremor Dei". Check it out below.
From the first second, the conceptual dramaturgy of Moonspell’s new album feels like a detonation of the mind. Playful and mean-spirited. 1755 is their magnum opus, a musical masterpiece and the dark adventure into medieval times. Produced by Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, The Haunted, Dark Tranquility, Dir En Grey, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter), naturally this album is sang completely in Portuguese and will outclass all standards you have ever heard from Moonspell before.
Says the band: “So, the day is almost here. Nobody expected we would release an album so soon but 1755 gripped us to the point where we changed everything and dedicated ourselves into telling this amazing story on our new album. Our job is done, now we will take it upon the road as headliners in Portugal and Spain in October and November and a special guest to our fiends Cradle Of Filth next year. Festivals are also being booked. Now it’s turn to listen with an open mind to our new opus and decide if you want to take the travel into a dark day that brought our country, Portugal a brighter future.”

"David Fucking Bowie", the new video from POWERMAN 5000, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "New Wave", which is being released today (Friday, October 27) via Pavement Entertainment.
"New Wave" is POWERMAN 5000's eleventh official release since forming in 1992 and continues the strides and success, from their platinum-selling album "Tonight The Stars Revolt!" to their most recent chart-topping single in 2014, "How To Be A Human".
POWERMAN 5000 vocalist Spider One stated about "David Fucking Bowie": "Bowie really was the best example of how to do it. He transcended genres and made everyone else seem average. This song is basically a big thank you."
Regarding the overall sound of the follow-up to 2014's "Builders Of The Future", vocalist Spider One said: "We went a bit dirtier on this one. Ripped it up more than the last couple of records. One of the goals was to recreate the noise of the live show. Keep in the chaos."
On the topic of the new album title, Spider said: "New Wave? Are we a new wave band? Well, I would say that we have always had more in common with DEVO than DIO."
POWERMAN 5000's legacy continues to push the boundaries of rock, metal, industrial, rap and punk to create innovative and groundbreaking releases time and time again. With songs like "David Fucking Bowie", "Cult Leader" and "Sid Vicious In A Dress", the new album is sure to please longtime fans, as well as turn the heads of many more to come.

"Miles Away", the new video from LYNCH MOB, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's new album, "The Brotherhood", which was released on September 8 via Rat Pak Records. The disc was produced by Chris "The Wizard" Collier (FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, PRONG, KXM) and features eleven brand new hard rock tracks.
"The Brotherhood" highlights the unique pairing of Oni Logan and George Lynch, and, along with Sean McNabb (bass) and Jimmy D'Anda (drums), the band has created a solid offering from start to finish. From the heavy guitar riffs of the opening track, "Main Offender", to the melodic album finale, "Miles Away", LYNCH MOB has once again proven it remains on top of its game.
Logan comments: "After doing quite a few miles together with this latest lineup of Sean McNabb and Jimmy D'Anda, we consider ourselves a pack of wolves, and we came up with the name 'The Brotherhood' for the title of the next LYNCH MOB album. It's got more of an adventurous sound in part and maybe a darker, colder sound to it.
"We are always willing to go farther. We come from the early '90s and it's when we released the first LYNCH MOB album which set a sound and course for us. Here we are 27 years later [and] George and I are still able to keep on stretching. As a player, as a writer, that is very important to us. Otherwise, we would be fooling ourselves and fooling you."
Lynch adds: "We wrote this album as a band and the name of the record reflects what the band is about and what all my bands have been about since I've been a kid. This is my second family. Swiss folk metallers ELUVEITIE have just released a brand-new single, "Rebirth". The song is the first taste of the band's upcoming album, which is due next year.
The official video for "Rebirth", which was produced by Wolfgang Wolman and Oliver Sommer of AVA Studios, can be seen below.
ELUVEITIE's Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann comments: "After a longer period of playing many acoustic sessions, peaking in creating our much-anticipated second acoustic album, 'Evocation II - Pantheon', we're, of course, more than excited to finally go about our next metal juggernaut! We've been gathering ideas since quite a while and yes, we started working on our next metal album!
"It will still take a while until we'll enter the studios again, since we first want to and will accomplish an amazing 'Evocation II' touring cycle. But to soothe your [and our] waiting time, we recently gathered again in the legendary Newsound studios to produce a first single off our upcoming metal album already — so welcome our youngest baby: 'Rebirth'!
"We believe, it turned out a real monster of in-your-face folk metal and we're super proud of it. And we hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do! As always, it is full of pristine celtic folk music and contains treasures such as the old Irish traditional 'Lads of Laois'. But at the same time, 'Rebirth' comes with a steamrolling truckload of pure fucking metal!
"Conceptually, the song takes a rather philosophical approach on ancient Celtic spirituality and mythology (and so will our upcoming album)! We take ancient mythological images to contemplate them from the view point of our everyday life (no matter if we lived two thousand years ago or today! Because we believe that the deep meaning and significance of these images didn't change ever since)! 'Rebirth' deals with the ancient Celtic image of the 'cauldron of rebirth', with it's meaning and with the darkest passages of our lives, through which we all have to go to arise reborn."
ELUVEITIE in May 2016 announced the departure of drummer Merlin Sutter, vocalist Anna Murphy and guitarist Ivo Henzi.
ELUVEITIE is:
* Jonas Wolf (guitar)* Matteo Sisti (whistles, bagpipes, mandola)* Nicole Ansperger (fiddle)* Alain Ackermann (drums)* Chrigel Glanzmann (vocals, whistles, mandola, bagpipes, bodhran)* Fabienne Erni (vocals, celtic harp, mandola)* Kay Brem (bass)* Michalina Malisz (hurdy gurdy)* Rafael Salzmann (guitar)
The new lineup of ELUVEITIE made its live debut at the Eluveitie & Friends festival in January at Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland.
The official video for the song "Feels Like Forever" from Jeff Scott Soto can be seen below. The track is taken from his new album, "Retribution", which will be released on November 10 via Frontiers Music Srl.
Says Jeff: "Here it is, finally — one of the two clips we created for 'Retribution'. This one features Howie Simon and me, who wrote, performed and produced the track together, cruising through Malibu and finishing with the most incredible sunset in the Hollywood Hills. I hope you enjoy this classic sounding song of hope."
Co-written and produced together with Jeff Scott Soto alumni Howie Simon, "Retribution" is Jeff's sixth proper solo studio album in a style that fans have come to know and love from the legendary singer over the years.
Jeff Scott Soto's career spans over thirty years. He was first introduced to the public as the vocalist for guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen's iconic first two solo albums before going on to front esteemed hard rock band TALISMAN. He is also one of the vocalists for the wildly popular TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, the lead vocalist for super group W.E.T. (featuring JSS alongside members of ECLIPSE and WORK OF ART), and creative visionary for the more metal leaning Soto, among many other musical activities he has been involved in. He also held a stint fronting Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers JOURNEY and was one of the vocalists for the officially sanctioned QUEEN tribute QUEEN EXTRAVAGANZA. His incredible voice has led to many an artist inviting him to do guest lead vocals or background vocals on their albums, including, but not limited to, STRYPER, Joel Hoekstra, SAIGON KICK, Fergie Frederiksen, Lita Ford, STEELHEART, and more.
In 1994, he released his first solo outing, "Love Parade", followed by the acclaimed "Prism" (2002), "Lost In The Translation" (2005), "Beautiful Mess" (2009) and "Damage Control" (2012).

"Sinister", the first joint studio album by Carmine and Vinny Appice, will be released on October 27 through SPV/Steamhammer as CD digipack, double gatefold vinyl, download and stream.
The official video for the disc's first single, "Monsters And Heroes", can be seen below.
You're unlikely to find a phenomenon like Carmine and Vinny Appice a second time in the history of rock music. For more than forty years, the two brothers have been among the most sought-after and renowned rock drummers worldwide. Carmine and Vinny (each of them on his own) can be heard on numerous legendary albums and have toured countless times with some of the world's greatest acts. Carmine embarked on his musical path in the 1960s with the unforgotten VANILLA FUDGE, manning in the course of his illustrious career the drums for superstars such as Rod Stewart and Ozzy Osbourne, among others. His brother Vinny, who is eleven years his junior, looks back on an equally spectacular career, having worked with acts such as BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL and DIO, among others. With the exception of the live album "Drum Wars - Live!" (2014), there has been no direct collaboration between the two so far. That's about to change!
"Sinister" was recorded with the support of a number of prestigious guests. Vinny says: "As Ringo said: with a little help from our friends." "Sinister" consists of a total of thirteen tracks, recorded by Carmine and Vinny together with distinguished colleagues. "Killing Floor" and "Future Past" feature the wonderful Craig Goldy (together with bassist Tony Franklin), Franklin resurfacing, together with Paul Shortino, on "Suddenly" and on "You Got Me Running". Shortino also lends his awesome vocals to "War Cry" and the programmatic "Monsters And Heroes", the latter also featuring BULLETBOYS guitarist Mick Sweda, while Shortino teams up with WHITESNAKE stringsman Joel Hoekstra on "War Cry". Talking of vocals: "Sinister", "Danger" (bass: Phil Soussan), "In The Night" (guitar: Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal) and "Sabbath Mash" (guitar: Erik Turner, keyboards: Erik Norlander) are all sung by Jim Crean, while Chas West recorded the vocal parts for "Killing Floor", Scotty Bruce featuring on "Future Past" and Robin McAuley on "Riot". The biggest surprise of all: Carmine himself doubles as vocalist on "You Got Me Running". Vinny says: "Carmine has been singing lead and background for years. He's a very good singer and I"m glad he sang one number on this record."

The lyric video for the song "Monsters And Heroes" can now be seen below.
Carmine Appice comments on the song and lyric video: "The song 'Monsters And Heroes' is a song about the great Ronnie James Dio. The song is a tribute to his legacy. The track features both Vinny and I on drums as well as special guest Paul Shortino (who wrote the lyrics) handling the vocal duties. We all knew Ronnie very well and wanted to do this video so everyone can see what a great tribute this is to Ronnie. Check it out it is a piece of rock art!!!" Adds Vinny: "'Monsters And Heroes' is special song that was inspired by the greatest singer and person in rock! My friend Ronnie James Dio. This is a special tribute to the man who gave us such great music and words and also took the time for all his fans who he loved."
