Swedish death metal favourites The Crown have shared vintage video of the band performing "Death Of God" live in Hamburg, Germany on January 28th, 1998.

"Playing to an audience of 30, it was a hard time for the band who just had been forced to change their name from Crown Of Thorns to The Crown. I suppose there are very few videos around from that time. Due to old age, the soundtrack suffers from a few drop-outs, apologies for that. It gets better in the second half."

In current news, it's two months until The Crown bring their Cobra Speed Tour to Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. Confirmed dates can be found in the official poster seen below.

 

Dark Star Records has announced that Chicago based symphonic metal band DiAmorte have just released their new lyric video for the song "The Everlasting Night".

ADRENALINE MOB guitarist Mike Orlando will release an instrumental DVD, "Mike Orlando's Sonic Stomp", on December 3. It features drummer extraordinaire Aquiles Priester (ANGRA, TONY MACALPINE, W.A.S.P.), keyboardist Junior Carelli and bassist Fernando Quesada.

"Mike Orlando's Sonic Stomp" was recorded live in at Thiago Bianchi's Fusao Studios in Brazil and was filmed by Junior Carelli and Rudge Campos of Foggy Filmes. It contains footage of Orlando playing 12 killer tracks from his SONIC STOMP releases. The DVD includes full-band performances as well as solo renditions.

Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman will release a new live album, "One Bad M.F. Live!!", on October 19 via via Prosthetic Records.

Another track from the disc, "Kaeritakunatta Yo", can be streamed below.

"One Bad M.F. Live!!" was recorded at the final concert of Friedman's most recent tour, on April 14 at "Guitarfest 2018", which was held at Centro Cultural Roberto Cantoral in Mexico City.

"This live album is a tip of the hat to the live albums that blew my mind when I was a kid," explains Friedman. "The musical content itself is modern and atomic-powered, but the presentation is decidedly old school. The pacing of the show, the audience participation stuff, the special live arrangements of the songs, these are the things that got me all jacked up as a kid. I like to give the audience the feeling that they are really getting something unique, something that only happens at their show, not just a recital of the songs exactly as they know them. There are lots of happy accidents, once-in-a-lifetime ad libs, things that could have only happened because we were high on that particular audience's energy."


b>"One Bad M.F. Live!!" was recorded on the tour in support of Friedman's latest solo album, "Wall Of Sound", which was released in August 2017 on Prosthetic Records, and debuted on Billboard's Heatseekers chart at No. 12.

"I've had albums that have charted higher, sold more, and got more attention over my career," says Friedman, "but 'Wall Of Sound' is the album I've been striving to make ever since I picked up a guitar. I have an almost unhealthy amount of pride towards that album. The thrill I get from playing the 'Wall Of Sound' stuff live is something that I wanted documented, and that's what 'One Bad M.F. Live!!' is."

Joining Friedman on "One Bad M.F. Live!!" are his bandmates Kiyoshi on bass, Jordan Ziff on guitar and Chargeeee on drums.

Friedman will celebrate the release of the disc with an October 21 show at The Viper Room in Los Angeles. A full U.S. tour will take place in 2019.

"Wall Of Sound" was produced by Friedman, engineered by Paul Fig (GHOST, RUSH, ALICE IN CHAINS) and mixed by Jens Bogren (KREATOR, OPETH, SEPULTURA). The disc was recorded in part at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in California and was previously described by Friedman as "a way more intense version" of 2014's "Inferno": "deeper, sadder, happier and more aggressive."

The official music video for "Damned If You Do", the title track of the 12th full-length studio album from West Coast metal veterans METAL CHURCH, can be seen below. The song is quintessential METAL CHURCH and showcases the sound that has garnered the band fans all around the globe, with its driving guitar riffs, punishing drum beat and instantly recognizable vocals.

Soon after hooking up with the group, Stet was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Miraculously, his treatments for the aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma worked and he was able to begin recording the new album.

Speaking of the new album, Stet said: "From the minute we started tracking this new CD, I had the feeling that it was going to be something special. I knew that I was going to do my best to deliver a top drum performance, not only because of the high standard set by past METAL CHURCH drummers, but also because this is my first CD release after being sick. A PERFECT CIRCLE has released a 2D video for "Eat The Elephant", the title track of its latest album. The clip, which is taken from the Steven Sebring-diretced ("Horses: Patti Smith And Her Band", "Dream Of Life") companion film for the album of the same name, is part of a first of its kind, album-length hologram film viewable via a prism included in the "Eat The Elephant" deluxe box set.

A PERFECT CIRCLE's Grammy Museum performance Wednesday night (October 10) was a rarity for the multi-platinum outfit whose most recent Los Angeles date was a sold-out evening at the Hollywood Bowl. On Wednesday, the band offered the lucky 200 fans and friends in attendance an opportunity to hear songs from "Eat The Elephant" in an intimate setting that highlighted the songs Mojo described as "at once brooding and beautiful." Billy Howerdel and Maynard James Keenan kicked off the evening by joining the audience for a discussion about the 12-song release.

This week, A PERFECT CIRCLE also announced its participation in Record Store Day's "Black Friday" festivities, offering a limited-edition seven-inch single featuring "So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish" with a B-side of the AC/DC cover "Dog Eat Dog".

The "Eat The Elephant" video, Grammy Museum performance and Record Store Day participation kick off what is a busy fall for A PERFECT CIRCLE, which will launch a U.S. tour next week and venture back to Europe in December for a three-week trek.

Vocalist/bass player Johnny Hedlund explains the story behind the new song: "After the despicable acts of terror against women and children in the South, and the devastation of the villages (as seen on the album cover), The Midgard Warriors decide to hunt down White Christ, all the way to Jorsala, if need be."

When it comes to Swedish death metal, the traditional Stockholm way and death metal per se, there is one band you have to mention: UNLEASHED! Formed in 1989 by Hedlund, UNLEASHED has been delivering supreme death metal from day one. Dealing with Viking traditions and values, and honing their craft, they have become extreme metal pioneers, musically and lyrically, inspiring legions of other bands with their sound.

"The Hunt For White Christ" is the fourth album in the continued story line of the World of Odalheim and their Midgard warriors — a story authored by Johnny Hedlund himself, comprising of the past, present, and what Hedlund’s deems as the future of the Viking traditions and values. The official lyric video for "Walk Away In Shame", the new single from CHROME DIVISION — the Norwegian band featuring DIMMU BORGIR frontman Shagrath (a.k.a. Comments Shagrath: "I think 'Walk Away in Shame' has a different approach and it's one of the happier songs. We wanted to create some interesting breaks in the album that are slightly different, so we invited the pop singer Misssela. She has a great soul voice in the style of Beyoncé and we thought it was a good idea and it turned out to be something cool and different."

Four years after "Infernal Rock Eternal", CHROME DIVISION joins forces again with its first lead singer, Eddie Guz, and brews up a new masterpiece crackling with metallic energy and spinning wheels.

CHROME DIVISION fired Guz in August 2009 "due to lack of dedication and commitment to the band." His replacement, Shady Blue (a.k.a. Athera), originally filled in for Guz at the Winterfire Festival at Hessenhallen in Giessen, Germany in February 2009 after Eddie was unable to make the gig.

n August, CHEVELLE drummer Sam Loeffler told the Lazer 103.3 radio station that the band has commenced the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2016's "The North Corridor" album. "We've got about half a record that we've been working on forever," he said. "Pete [Loeffler, guitar/vocals] always has songs that he's working on, so when we start to write, we have a really good amount of stuff to pool from, which is great. So, yeah, we've been just taking our time. We all try to get a little bit of life in between there, but we're writing, we're doing a few songs here and there, and it's actually been a great summer. I'm excited about the music, so that's a bonus."

According to Sam, touring for the past two years in support of "The North Corridor" has helped shape the direction of CHEVELLE's new material.

"After you've finished a record, you don't really listen to it at all, because it's difficult — you've spent all that time working on it and doing it, and then to go and listen to it would be a lot more work," he said. "So you really hear those songs when you tour on them and play them, and then that really does give you an idea of what you wanna do next."

CHEVELLE's 2014 album, "La Gargola", gave the band its highest chart debut (No. 3) and produced a No. 1 single on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart in "Take Out The Gunman".

"The North Corridor" debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 album chart and produced another No. 1 Mainstream Rock single, "Joyride (Omen)". The disc featured songwriting by Pete, who was working with producer Joe Baressi through the Internet.

"Hangover In Hannover", the new video from Swedish rockers ELECTRIC BOYS, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "The Ghost Ward Diaries", which will be released on November 23 via Mighty Music.

Vocalist/guitarist Conny Bloom comments: "Hannover. Stockholm. Tokyo. L.A. Been there, done that. 'Hangover In Hannover' is a hard rocker that I'm sure most people can relate to but wish they couldn't. To quote Niclas, our drummer: 'It's not being drunk that's great, it's getting drunk.' The aftermath can get you into a very dark place."

Bloom previously stated about the "The Ghost Ward Diaries" songwriting process: "We like guitar riffs, strong hooks and heavy grooves, performed on analog instruments. I guess you'd call it classic rock.


"Lyric-wise, it's a bit darker than before; little diaries from times on the road and the struggle in between.

The album is far from predictable, yet it was the easiest album to record since the reunion. We really had a good team going with producer/engineer David Castillo."


Formed in Stockholm in 1988, ELECTRIC BOYS is a band with roots in '70s groove rock and '60s pop and psychedelia. Their critically acclaimed debut album, "Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride", was produced by Bob Rock (METALLICA, BON JOVI, THE CULT, MÖTLEY CRÜE) and spawned the Billboard Top 20 single "All Lips 'N' Hips" that got them heavy rotation on MTV.

After extensive touring, ELECTRIC BOYS entered legendary studio Abbey Road to record the follow-up, "Groovus Maximus", which gave the band another Billboard Top 30 single with the song "Mary In The Mystery World". The third album "Freewheelin'" (also recorded in Abbey Road) peaked at No. 16 on the official Swedish album chart before the band called it a day in 1994.

Bloom went solo until he, as well as bassist Andy Christell, joined legendary glamsters HANOI ROCKS in 2005. In 2009, they began the process of reuniting the ELECTRIC BOYS. They released the album "And Them Boys Done Swang" in 2011 and the critically acclaimed fan favorite "Starflight United" in 2014.

In all the years, the band has toured relentlessly opening for the likes of METALLICA, ALICE COOPER, MR. BIG, HARDLINE, VIXEN and THUNDER. In 2017, the band took part in the hugely popular Monsters Of Rock cruise from Florida, it was a triumphant return Stateside.

Kyle Pavone, the charismatic and talented singer of WE CAME AS ROMANS, tragically and unexpectedly passed away in August. The band will honor his memory with the "Promise Me Tribute Show" on Sunday, October 28 at The Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan. The concert will benefit the Kyle Pavone Foundation, which serves members of the music community with counseling services for mental health issues and substance abuse, among others.

A number of very special guests are confirmed to perform both with WE CAME AS ROMANS and individually at this event. The guest performers include many musicians and singers that Pavone and WE CAME AS ROMANS have toured with throughout their careers.

Guests include ISSUES' Tyler Carter; AUGUST BURNS RED's Jake Luhrs; MEMPHIS MAY FIRE's Matty Mullins; I PREVAIL's Eric Vanlerberghe, members of BORN OF OSIRIS, FOR TODAY, and Nick Sampson. Additionally, some of Pavone's favorite electronic artists and DJs will participate in the show, which will feature over-the-top production, dynamic lighting and video, and special effects! Ultimately, the lineup for "Promise Me" is a "can't miss" celebration of Kyle Pavone's life, career, and memory.

Pavone died of an accidental drug overdose. His bandmates said in a statement last month that they would honor the singer by going ahead with their previously announced U.S. tour.

"The only reason we're still doing this is we want to honor Kyle's legacy, want to honor his memory, we want to keep playing these songs," Stephens added. "This was his dream. Being on this stage was his favorite place to be — but not just any stage, this stage in Detroit."

TMZ originally reported that Kyle was transported to a Michigan hospital on August 19 and pronounced dead six days later, on August 25.

ALL THAT REMAINS has already performed "Fuck Love" and another new song, "Wasteland", at some of the band's recent live shows.

Labonte talked to told Tyler and Mo of Z97.5's "Morning Mayhem" radio show about ALL THAT REMAINS's musical diversity and the band's desire to establish its own identity.

"There's some bands that do one thing, and this isn't a knock on anyone… But, you know, look, LAMB OF GOD is already a band," he said. "We're not gonna be the next SLAYER — there's already a SLAYER, there's already a LAMB OF GOD, there's already all these really heavy bands that really do a great job and nail it, and that's their thing. But for us, we're never gonna be that band. So we really try to just incorporate as much stuff that we enjoy into the music that we write. And some people dislike that, and usually the kids that are into metal are, like, 'Oh, if it's not metal, it sucks.' So we're used to that. But at the same time, we're not trying to be someone else — we're trying to be us. And you'll see a lot of people out there [say], 'Well, they're trying to be this band,' and then you'll hear from someone else, 'They're trying to be this band,' and those two bands don't sound anything alike, and that, to me, is a good thing. When you can't nail down a band that we sound like, or if you say, 'This song sounds like this band,' but then another song on the same record sounds like a completely different band, I think that's kind of a good thing, because it really shows that we're not like other bands, we're not like another band; we're not trying to be someone else. We are ALL THAT REMAINS; we are the band that we are; we're gonna keep doing stuff that we dig. Hopefully people dig it, but we're not trying to be someone that we're not; we're just trying to be us and write songs that we like."

Swedish melodic metallers AMARANTHE have released the song "Inferno". The track is taken from the band's upcoming fifth album "Helix", due out October 19 through Spinefarm Records. Ryd told Radio Q that "Helix" was completed in under five months. "I know we're crazy, but that's what we like," she said. "We like people to be crazy. Just go there, do your shit — do things you wouldn't expect yourself to be able to do. When the [record] label asked, 'Are you guys sure you can have enough time to write a new album?' And we do not like to say 'no,' so we said, 'Of course. Yes.' And we did it."

Added Mörck: "And we figured it was also a good thing for us, to actually push ourselves a little bit. If we sit down to write music — me and Elize together have been writing this whole album — it's never happened even once that we haven't composed something. So when the label asked, I was, at first, like, 'Okay, this could really be pushing it.' So in the back of my head, I was thinking initially that, 'Okay, if this goes south somehow, then maybe we'll have to push [back] the recording — worst-, worst-case scenario.' But it just turned out the other way around. Because it was only two months, and we were constantly in the zone — day and night, every single day, composing all the time — so you never lost the focus of it. And I think it really, really helped the album, because it's a very focused album… So we just took a break from touring for two months to write it. and then another two and a half [months] to record it, and, poof, there was an album. Which is, at least in our opinion, the best album that we've ever composed."

In support of the new album, AMARANTHE will embark on a European tour with POWERWOLF in October and November.

DISTURBED's new song "The Best Ones Lie" can be streamed below. It is the third single from the band's upcoming album, "Evolution", which will be released on October 19.

Like 2015's "Immortalized", DISTURBED's new album was recorded at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with producer Kevin Churko.

In a recent interview with United Rock Nations radio station, DISTURBED singer David Draiman stated about "Evolution": " From a stylistic standpoint, songs like 'Are You Ready', 'Hold On To Memories', 'Already Gone' came about because in a post-'Sound Of Silence' world, we feel very comfortable going in any direction we choose at any given point in time. There are no limitations; there's no specific definition to what we are; and it's given us the confidence to really spread our wings quite a bit. The results are on this record."

He also spoke about his growth as a vocalist, explaining: "It's much easier to learn how to sing classically than it is to learn how to learn sing rock, to be perfectly honest. Achieving the proper technique without having to inject the rasp, the grit into the vocal is far easier than still trying to achieve that and inject the rasp or the grit. It's a very, very delicate technique. When I first trained to sing at all, the stylistically different songs on this album were more of what I sang back in the day. It literally hadn't been until we recorded the cover of 'Sound Of Silence' that I had had my recorded voice played back to me like that. I had never recorded anything that sounded like that."

DISTURBED played a special intimate show this past Wednesday (October 10) at the 1,000-capacity Vic Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, presented by SiriusXM.

The group has only one other show on its schedule so far for the rest of 2018, at the Austin City Limits music festival on October 13 in Austin, Texas.

Swedish metallers SOILWORK have revealed the details of their new album. The band's 11th studio record will be titled "Verkligheten" and is the first to feature drummer Bastian Thusgaard, who replaced Dirk Verbeuren in 2016.


"Verkligheten" will be released on January 11, 2019 via Nuclear Blast. The first-edition digipack, as well as the vinyl versions, will also contain the exclusive "Underworld" EP, containing four more songs. The digipack version will also feature special artwork with lavish foil print.

SOILWORK singer Björn "Speed" Strid told United Rock Nations about the disc. "I'm really, really pleased with it — it's really, really cool. [It's] possibly the most epic and darkest album we've done. And it's also very melancholic, but it's also very sort of uplifting. It's huge. I'm really happy with it."

Asked if the musical direction of the new SOILWORK material is similar to that on the last album, Strid said: "I would say a mixture between 'The Ride Majestic' and [2013's] 'The Living Infinite'."

SOILWORK will embark on an extensive European co-headlining run with labelmates AMORPHIS in January. Support on the trek will come from NAILED TO OBSCURITY and JINJER.

SOILWORK is now a quintet, following the departure of bassist Markus Wibom in late 2016 due to "other commitments." He has since been replaced by touring bassist Taylor Nordberg (THE ABSENCE).

In 2016, SOILWORK released a special collection of rarities titled "Death Resonance" via Nuclear Blast.

Mailboat Records president Harold Sulman presented DEF LEPPARD with a plaque to commemorate sales of over 500,000 copies of "Mirror Ball - Live & More", the band's first-ever live album. The presentation took place before the second of DEF LEPPARD's two sold-out concerts with JOURNEY at the Forum in Inglewood, California on October 7. The Sunday night concert was also the final date of DEF LEPPARD and JOURNEY's co-headlining 2018 North American tour, which kicked off May 21 and played to more than a million fans.

Released in 2011, "Mirror Ball" included a 50-minute DVD that contained live performances and intimate backstage footage of the band captured on the road. A special limited vinyl edition was also made available.

"Mirror Ball" featured a mix of live DEF LEPPARD classics (recorded throughout the "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" tour), three brand new studio songs and the aforementioned bonus DVD. "Mirror Ball" featured rock classics such as "Animal", "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Photograph", "Nine Lives" and "Rock Of Ages". The album also brought together three brand new studio tracks — "Undefeated", "Kings Of The World" and "It's All About Believin'" — taking their place with ease within this classic setlist.

"When we decided to do [the live album], it just got said, I don't know by who, 'Why don't we chuck a couple of new songs on the end?' " frontman Joe Elliott told Billboard. "And that two became three, and in fairness it could've been four if we'd just had a little bit more time."

b>Elliott composed "Undefeated", which he described to Billboard as "a very QUEEN-type vocal thing. It even features piano and stuff." Guitarist Phil Collen's "It's All About Believin'" was "a pop-rock song," while bassist Rick Savage's "Kings Of The World" was "a big, epic, rock anthem — kind of 'We Will Rock You' with guitars, if you like."

"They're all very different to each other," Elliott added. "They don't sound specifically like any previous DEF LEPPARD songs, but they sound like DEF LEPPARD songs. They have to have our identity on them, otherwise they might as well be Tom Waits or R.E.M. We have a signature sound that we're not scared of anymore."

With the summer tour with Foreigner behind them, the band will revisit some of its best acoustic performances with Unzipped: Super Deluxe Edition. This 5 CD/DVD collection brings together unplugged and acoustic-based performances recorded over the past 20+years, including rare and unreleased studio and live recordings, acoustic demos, concert videos, interviews and more. The extensive set will be available on October 19th. On the same day, Rhino will also release Unzipped in three other formats: single-CD, double-CD, and double-LP. In 1997, Coverdale and guitarist Adrian Vandenberg played an unplugged concert in Tokyo that was recorded and initially released exclusively in Japan as Starkers In Tokyo. That recording has been remixedand will make its North American-debut on the second disc of Unzipped: Super Deluxe Edition. The acoustic performance touches on the different stages of Coverdale’s career, from his time in Deep Purple (“Soldier of Fortune”), to his solo albums (“Too Many Tears”), and, most famously, with Whitesnake on unplugged versions of hits like “Is This Love” and “Here I Go Again.” These 12 tracks, along with all the music on the single-CD version of Unzipped, will also be available on double-CD, and double-LP.

“Some of my favourite love songs are on disc one of this collection… and I LOVE, love songs,” says Coverdale.“Though reluctant at first to go “Unzipped” in public, the shows I did with Adrian Vandenberg in 1997, and then Doug Aldrich in 2006, were incredibly memorable. Early musical training took place on the Graziadei family's old, forever out-of-tune upright piano and he began studying music under the guidance of his grandfather and uncle, both of whom he had always admired. So he expanded his musical vocabulary while growing up, finding inspiration in so many forms of music but it wasn't until he stumbled into the underground world of punk-rock music that his musical taste was really sparked into growth.

mmersing himself in the sounds, perspective, and culture of the punk underground, Billy's desire to create new, innovative music led him to the late-'80s hardcore scene in New York City, from Sunday-matinee hardcore shows at CBGBs to Friday-night metal shows at Brooklyn's L'Amour metal/rock club. It was here that he found his musical home and it was here that Billy helped form a band that would take the metal/hardcore scene by storm. It was the birth of BIOHAZARD. As one of the first bands they combined the urban sounds of hardcore, metal and rap with scorching lyrics describing the forces at work in our modern urban lives.


With an audio-engineering degree and years of experience recording BIOHAZARD, Graziadei opened Firewater Studios. This studio became an incubator for Billy's creativity, where he continues to cultivate his talent while producing upcoming bands. During the years of touring with BIOHAZARD, Graziadei collaborated with many different musicians. As a result of this, the friendship with CYPRESS HILL singer Sen Dog turned in 2016 into the supergroup POWERFLO along with bassist Christian Olde Wolbers (ex-FEAR FACTORY) and guitarist Roy Lozano (DOWNSET). While Graziadei continues to work on new POWERFLO songs as he tours around, he decided that the time finally has come for his solo venture.


Billy states: "I've always wanted to do a solo release and the timing of everything that I have been working on just seemed to fall in place.

"I always let the creative juices flow, I don't try and restrict them to fit a certain genre.

"With BILLYBIO, it's 100% me. No influence from anyone else. This is who I am and what I've become. I'm a product of everyone I've met, talked with, shared my stories with… and a bit of their stories as well.

"Anyone who's a fan of what I've done, especially with BIOHAZARD, will love this! There's something there for every fan of heavy underground music!

"I'm psyched to release my new music this fall as BILLYBIO. Launching the band in Europe on tour with my family in LIFE OF AGONY couldn't get any better!"


According to Billy, "Feed The Fire" is "heavy, fast, groovy and full of energy. I couldn't have it any other way," he says. "It's full of my roots but modern."

Producer Tue Madsen, who worked on "Feed The Fire", agrees. "When I was brought in to mix this record, it was with big expectations, and boy, were they met," he says. "These songs keep the energy level so high and have so much to say. Great deliverance, great songwriting and now me mixing the whole thing. I couldn't be happier."

According to TMZ, Deven Davis — wife of KORN singer Jonathan Davis — died from the effects of mixing five drugs, including cocaine and heroin. A coroner's report released Wednesday revealed that other drugs found in her system were clonazepam, also known as Klonopin, a tranquilizer used to prevent and treat seizures and panic disorder; topiramate, an anti-epilepsy drug also used to treat migranes; and fluoxetine, the generic form of the antidepressant Prozac.

Deven Davis died on August 17 at the age of 39. The former girl-on-girl porn star reportedly suffered with sobriety and substance abuse throughout her life.

In a statement released via his social media channels, Jonathan called Deven "an amazing wife, amazing mother and amazing friend" who was suffering from "a very serious mental illness."

In 2016, Jonathan, 47, filed for divorce from Deven (citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason) and requested a domestic violence restraining order against her just a few hours before she was found dead in a Bakersfield, California hotel room.

b>Jonathan was reportedly granted a temporary order, which prohibited Deven from visiting their two children or having any contact with the family's dog.

In his declaration, Jonathan claimed Deven has struggled with drug abuse for over 20 years.

The singer alleged Deven was addicted to prescription and illegal narcotics and has been around their children while under the influence.

He also claimed his estranged wife was "constantly under the influence of the nitrous oxide, cocaine and Norco." He said she had monthly prescriptions for nearly 200 Norco pills. Jonathan alleged Deven had a drug dealer boyfriend who supplied her with additional narcotics.

Jonathan alleged he found the boyfriend passed out on the sofa in her living room when he brought the children to her house.

He also claimed he found a heroin pipe and cocaine floating in the toilet bowl while Deven was passed out on the floor upstairs.

According to Jonathan, Deven also battled alcohol and a sex and gambling addiction.

Deven was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in 2014, and Jonathan said their children were in the car, according to KGET.

After a drug relapse in July, Deven sought treatment at Bakersfield Behavior Health Center. She moved into a sober living home until she checked out August 10 — a week before her body was discovered in a hotel room at the Extended Stay.

After marrying Jonathan in 2004, Deven and the singer had two kids together, Pirate and Zeppelin. (Jonathan's first son from his previous marriage, Nathan, will turn 23 this fall.)

US-based hard rock/metal band Vandallus have released a single for the song "Infected", taken from the album Bad Disease, out on now via Pure Steel Records. The album will be available as CD, DL and limited edition vinyl.

With Shaun Vanek (guitars and vocals), aka Vanik, and Steve Dukuslow (drums) Vandallus from Cleveland, Ohio do indeed feature the core of the mighty Midnight in their ranks. The current line-up is completed by Jason Vanek (vocals, guitar), with Tyler Harvey (Deadiron) on guitar and Tim Frederick (Wretch, Eternal Legacy, Destructor) on bass respectively. Although the band is Jason’s baby, Midnight boss Jamie Walters also contributed a few songs to Vandallus' debut effort On The High Side, which saw the light of day on High Roller Records in 2016.

“Vandallus is a totally different project from Midnight,” states Jason Vanek, “basically the idea came about of recording material in the vein of late 1970s/early 1980s hard rock. I've always wanted to do a project like this, so it came together very quickly.”

“We just wanted to write another batch of great hard rock songs!” comments Vanek on the second full-length Vandallus album Bad Disease. With songs like the uplifting “Heart Attacker”, the infectious speedster “Infected” (sounding very much like 1979 Dokken) and “Trash Talk'n”, a groovy rocker carried by a strong vocal performance, the new album carries on where the critically acclaimed On The High Side has left off.

Nuclear Blast’s involvement with death metal harkens back to the late ‘80s and early ‘90s explosion of this heavy and deadly genre. The Death ...Is Just The Beginning compilations paved the way to the introduction of many soon to become legendary acts such as Pungent Stench, Dismember, Hypocrisy, Kataklysm. While the scene suffered a bit of stagnation somewhere in the mid-to-late ‘90s, the genre as a whole never went away and Nuclear Blast continued to release quality death metal in the form of bands such as Hypocrisy, Kataklysm, Decapitated, etc.

Hammerheart Records and Dead Head have announced the reissues of all past recordings of the Dutch thrash metal legends. Each album will be re-issued in the top quality that Hammerheart Records is known for by now. 

This includes the painful process of going through The Feast Begins At Dawn and the way it sounded (wait until you hear the result!), finally doing the best Dutch thrash metal album Dream Deceiver on vinyl, taking each album and release (The Festering demo!) for digital, CD, LP and MC. Every reissue will have the best possible sound and artwork, deluxe CD editions will give you a lot of (unheard) recordings, a fan's treasure chest.

2019 will be Dead Head’s 30th anniversary and have plans to release the follow-up to Swine Plague. More information will be available soon.

According to Def Leppard / former Dio guitarist Vivian Campbell during his weekly radio show on BBC Radio Ulster, his other band Last In Line has completed work on a new album which will be released next year. The first single is due out in November. More details will be revealed soon.

August 15th, 2018 marked the 33rd anniversary of the third Dio album, Sacred Heart, released in 1985. Campbell recently shared his memories of the record.

"I can't believe it's been 33 years since Sacred Heart was released," says Campbell. "To be honest, I don't have many happy memories from the making of this record. On both Holy Diver and Last In Line, there was a real sense of camaraderie in the band and everyone would hang out at the studio, even when we were done with our own parts, just because we were excited to hear every new development - we were all invested.

"On the first two albums I felt like we belonged to a team, but by the time we got to Sacred Heart things were different. Ronnie's mood had darkened considerably following his breakup with Wendy. Furthermore, it had become increasingly clear to me that Wendy (as Ronnie's manager) was determined to separate Ronnie from the band. She didn't see Dio as one creative unit. Ronnie knew better, but I suspect that in an effort to win back Wendy's love he was willing to bend to her whims. Thus began the beginning of the end for the original Dio band.

"When I separate my emotions from it and listen to the album solely on it's musical merit, there are many significant highlights, the title track being perhaps the most impressive. However, listening now after so many years, I can also hear the emergence of more keyboards in the songs and a more polished production - further steps away from the kinetic energy of the original band and the raw appeal of the earlier two albums."

MAYHEM frontman Attila Csihar joined SINSAENUM on stage on October 10 in Budapest, Hungary to perform a couple of songs. Video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

Csihar sang on SINSAENUM's first album, 2016's "Echoes Of The Tortured", but was absent from the recording sessions for 2017's "Ashes" EP and this year's "Repulsion For Humanity" effort.

SINSAENUM mainman — and DRAGONFORCE bassist — Frédéric Leclercq told Metal Covenant about Attila's lack of involvement with the death metal supergroup: "Well, Attila is not there, because he didn't do the album because he was too busy with MAYHEM, TORMENTOR and SUNN O))) and all his other bands. That's something we made clear, because we could have Photoshopped him in, you know. But that wouldn't have been honest, because when we started recording 'Ashes', we knew that he wouldn't be available. So we were, like, 'Okay. So what are we gonna say?' Because people are very attached to a lineup, you know. So 'Are we gonna try to find an excuse or shall we just say how it is?' and we were, like, 'Maybe that's what we need to do. Just be honest.' So that's the reality. He's too busy, the band carries on, he's still in the band, he just couldn't be there for this one. Actually, he had more time than we thought he would have, so he contributed with some lyrics and did some backing vocals as well. But he was not there when we had to take the pictures. So he's not gonna be on the tour, but the other guys will be, yeah."

In addition to Leclercq (guitar), SINSAENUM features former SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison, Sean Zatorsky (DÅÅTH) on vocals, Stephane Buriez (LOUDBLAST) on guitar, and Heimoth (SETH) on bass.

SINSAENUM's first album was nominated as "Best Debut" by Metal Hammer Germany and was praised worldwide as one of the freshest and finest approaches to death metal.

Joey told What Culture about the SINSAENUM songwriting process: "Everything is exactly the way we imagined it, with Fred as the primary songwriter. We always entrust in Fred to be the one that brings the main riffs and then we work from there in the studio. It has to feel good to all of us. Our songs have to flow like a river, with different waves, and that's the main thing about SINSAENUM: even though we're, primarily, a black/death metal hybrid, the songwriting comes from rock, thrash, speed metal and death metal. Sometimes I don't think we make death metal or black metal; sometimes I think we’re just SINSAENUM. We are in those genres, but it comes from so many different areas." Frédéric added: "I've always wanted to have a death metal album out. It sounds selfish, but you make music for yourself. I would have chosen to make pop music if I wanted to please the masses, but music is catharsis for us, so SINSAENUM is a necessity."

Ahead of Tony Iommi's “A Life In Music” events - taking place at Paisley Town Hall in Paisley, Scotland on Friday, October 12th (7 PM), and at Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, Scotland on Saturday, October 13th (7 PM) - the Black Sabbath guitar legend spoke with The Sunday Post about Sabbath's early days.

“Bill (Ward, Sabbath drummer) and I lived in Carlisle for a year after joining a band there and we used to play lots of gigs around Dumfries, Edinburgh and places around Scotland,” Tony said. "So when Sabbath started, that’s where we went back to play - we got in touch with the agent and said we had a new band.

“She asked if it was pop music we were playing and I said of course. She heard later we were playing different stuff and she’d received a few complaints.

“We weren’t getting many gigs but we were playing in blues clubs and playing that sort of music. But when we wrote our first two songs, 'Wicked World' and 'Black Sabbath', I knew we were on to something really different. We tried them out in those clubs and people came up to us afterwards and said they really liked them. It was great to get that reaction.

“There were also people who didn’t like them, of course, but we were interested in the ones who did.”
