Phoenix, AZ-based experimental sludge/post metal band, Sorxe, have announced their signing to Prosthetic Records. The four-piece rely heavily on improvisation, pulling ideas from an eclectic well of inspiration ranging from Neurosis, Swans, Melvins and Pink Floyd. Sorxe consists of guitarist/vocalist Tanner Crace, drummer Shane Ocell, and two bassists - Christopher Coons and Jonathan Portnoy, who tread new psychedelic ground into the unknown.

Crace comments on the signing: "Sorxe is humbled and honored to join the Prosthetic family! We have much music to share with everyone and we are truly excited to have this platform and support of the label to be able to extend our reach. We are greatly looking forward to the Matter & Void album release, touring, and bringing the music to a wider audience of people all over the world. Thank you!"

Sorxe is currently streaming the first track cut from their upcoming second full-length album, Matter & Void, out November 24the. The track, entitled "Hypnotizer", can be heard below.

Crace says about the track: "Lyrically there's a lot of intertwining themes about the cold calculating and unforgiving nature of existence. The song "Hypnotizer" deals with the allure and seduction of new technologies and how it's all sold to all of us to make life easier, but the double edge sword of the matter is we are becoming even more distant and distracted. Life is getting more chaotic and moving faster than we can keep up.

Musically we feel the album as a whole is more advanced structurally than our self-released debut Surrounded by Shadows, while at the same time it feels simpler. We really wanted to build on certain themes and let them grow and contort to suck you in, grab your attention and then take you on a journey with us. A lot of the inspiration comes from visual cues, certain vibes in movies we like, etc."

Matter & Void was recorded, mixed and co-produced by Matt Bayles (Russian Circles, Botch, Isis). The album will be available via CD, limited edition violet and black swirl LP and all digital outlets. Pre-orders are available here.

US metal stalwarts, Resistance, have released a new video for the song "Hail To The Horns" (A Tribute To Ronnie James Dio), from their new album Metal Machine, released back in June via No Remorse Records.

The video features live footage taken from the bands appearance at this years Up The Hammers festival in Greece along with fan photos and other performance footage from shows in Germany and the USA.

Metal Machine was produced and engineered by Dan Luna, Bill Metoyer and Resistance, and was is mixed and mastered by Neil Kernon. The album cover artwork was painted by Dusan Markovic.

The Duke of Spook, Wednesday 13, has revealed a new video for “Cadaverous”, a track from his current Condolences album. The clip plays up Wednesday's schlocky horror reputation in their best horror B-movie style, as he and his band finish up a US tour and get ready for a European tour later this month.  

"'Cadaverous' is the most fun and campy video that we have made so far," states Wednesday. "We really had fun with this one, and it's a throwback to all my favorites like The Munsters and The Addams Family. I hope our fans enjoy this as much as we did making it."

Details are sketchy for the moment, but word has come down that Italian musician/composer Zombie Sam will release an album featuring his renditions of songs taken from Beetlejuice Original Motion Picture Soundtrack released in 1988, composed by Danny Elfman, on November 30th. The album is arranged and producerd by Zombie Sam, mixed and mastered by FusixStudio. More information will be available soon.

Zombie Sam recently spoke with BraveWords scribe Carl Begai, discussing his forthcoming new record and unleashing his debut album Self Conscious Insanity, a record that blended symphonic and industrial elements to create a unique calling card, in 2013. The outing yielded two official videos – “A Hallowed Tale” and “Woman In White” – that gave Zombie Sam a Tim Burton-esue identity to go along with the music and earned him a cult following. A lot has changed since then including his musical vision, meaning the fans clamouring for a sequel to Self Conscious Insanity should be prepared for a distinctive new take on an esablished theme.

“I don’t try to imitate anybody, I just try to compose what I feel,” Sam says. “A few years ago I had some health problems with my heart, and after that my life changed somehow and I started seeing things in a different way. It also affected the way I compose music, so that definitely had an influence on the songs for the new album. I also wanted to change my sound. People told me the first album was leaning more in an industrial direction like Rob Zombie or Marilyn Manson, and I didn’t want that. I wanted to create something unique, be more myself; not too serious, maybe even a bit funny.”

More rock than metal this time out, Zombie Sam’s new material is, ironically, reminiscent of two beloved Canadian bands: The Creepshow and Billy Talent. He agrees with the suggestion that if his music is going to wear a stamp it should read “Horror Rock”.

“You mentioned those bands to me and I thought ‘Holy crap, he’s right…’ The new Zombie Sam music doesn’t sound like those bands exactly but it is similar. I like the music from both Billy Talent and The Creepshow, I like the way they perform live, so I could learn somethings from artists like that. They have an amazing energy. My new music is going more in the direction of something like The Creepshow. I don’t want to be heavy metal and I think this new stuff is more rock. Some of the vocal lines even sound a bit like pop music even though it’s not. It’s definitely more horror rock.”

Leftoverture Live & Beyond, produced by Jeff Glixman, features 19 songs selected from 12 shows recorded during Kansas' Spring 2017 Leftoverture 40th Anniversary Tour. The setlist includes classic hits, deep cuts, new songs from 2016's studio album The Prelude Implicit, and culminates with the band's sextuple-platinum breakthrough album, Leftoverture, performed in its entirety.

Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of Leftoverture, and the release of The Prelude Implicit, Kansas embarked on their biggest headlining tour in decades. The overwhelming success of that tour led the band, along with Inside Out Music, to release selected songs from the tour as a live album.

"When we saw how much our fans enjoyed the Leftoverture 40th Anniversary Tour shows, we knew we had to record a live album," said Kansas drummer, Phil Ehart. "We Own The Night", the new video from HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's fifth full-length album, "V" (Five), which will be released on October 27.

HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD's Johnny 3 Tears told Loudwire about the track: "That is very specific. One night, after the studio, we were out getting drunk, I'll be honest. And we went down to Hollywood Boulevard and which, to be honest with you, I don't do very often anymore. I used to live down there, pretty much, but all the bars are different now. Anyway, we were doing it. We were walking around and we really wanted to write a song about the nocturnal qualities of the city.

"It's weird, because you can be in one spot and it's a different world than that twelve hours later, it's completely different. You've got everything going on, there's the bank and there's the supermarket and everyone's doing their normal thing, and then twelve hours later, instead of selling food, they're selling crack and all these other things. It was a take on the nocturnal aspects of our lives and we thought it would be cool to tell that story.

"We've always been on the darker side, subject matter-wise, with music. I suppose that's just the way we are. It was our take on those things. I never liked 'party music,' you know, 'Let's party all night.' I've always looked at the other sides of those things. It's just a take on that activity and where we were at at that point."

Regarding the "V" title, Johnny 3 Tears said: "We're five brothers, and this is our fifth record. Nothing gets to the essence of the music like this number does. Numerology has a lot of power. When we said 'Five', it just made sense. The fact that we could all agree on one word codifies who we are. It also nods back to 'No. 5' from our first album, because it was our fifth song. Moreover, it hints at this secret society of fans supporting us for the past decade. The number is significant, and this is a significant moment for us."

According to The Pulse Of Radio, NINE INCH NAILS duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have released a cover of director and composer John Carpenter's theme to his classic 1978 film "Halloween". Reznor said in a statement: "I clearly remember my friends and I at thirteen years old conning our parents into letting us see Halloween when it came out in 1978. We left the theater forever changed. We were damaged and scarred, with the shit genuinely scared out of us and that theme stuck firmly in our heads. John Carpenter, it's your fault that I turned out the way I did."

Carpenter will release a collection of newly recorded versions of his theme songs on Friday, October 20. That set will be titled "Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998".

The collection brings together thirteen classic themes from Carpenter's illustrious career, each one newly recorded by Carpenter, his son Cody and his godson, Daniel Davies.

It's unclear if the NINE INCH NAILS cover is included as a bonus track, since it's not included on the tracklisting.

New York-based progressive death metal/post metal act Cryptodira have signed with Good Fight Music and have debuted an all new track titled “Medusa Misgendered”. Drummer Matthew Taibi explains the band's thought process behind the LP title, "Much of The Devil’s Despair deals with the themes of dehumanizing social forces; forces which come from human activity and yet become confused for rigid, natural laws. In “Medusa Misgendered,” the trend being criticized specifically is the objectification of femininity under the gaze of masculinity, reversing the myth of Medusa as the title suggests. Even for the side that benefits from reification, there is still an unnecessary loss of substance and they themselves become a reflection of the very world they've frozen. This hits on the larger theme captured by the artwork, where the Devil himself becomes a victim of the demonic force of dehumanization which originally emanated from him."

Former Generation Kill bassist Rob Moschetti (Pro-Pain, M.O.D.) has formed a new hard rock band, The Pain Method, with two of his bandmates from Generation Kill.

The Pain Method incorporates hard rock and old school metal riffs, with a major twist in the vocal department. Moschetti has kept his mouth shut for far too long, and ather than lending his voice to backing vocals, as he did in his previous bands, Rob has moved to centre stage, delivering melodic powerful vocals with three and four part harmonies throughout the entire new album, as well as playing rhythm and lead guitar.

To bring this project to life, Rob recruited veteran musicians and former bandmates Rob Youells on drums and Jason Trenczer on lead guitar. To round out the "live" lineup and execute the vocal harmonies, Rob has raised the bar, yet again, by bringing in Will Winton on bass and backing vocals, and Jonathan Rosario on rhythm guitar and backing vocals. These two were brought in because they have been frontmen/vocalists in their previous bands. This will enable The Pain Method to deliver the songs "live" as they appear, or better yet, exceed their performance, executed on their debut album.

As Rob said in his personal bio, he has not even scratched the surface with his many projects that have brought him to this point. The Pain Method will exceed anyone's expectations of what a hard rock band can do musically, while still maintaining catchy guitar riffs and huge vocal hooks in each and every track off of their debut album.

On November 17th, Pink Floyd Records will reissue A Collection Of Great Dance Songs and Delicate Sound Of Thunder on vinyl, the first time they have been available on this format for well over twenty years. These are the band’s first ‘best of’ and live albums to be remastered on vinyl.

Over the past two years, Pink Floyd Records has released the entire studio collection as stereo remastered versions on heavyweight 180g vinyl. All are mastered from the original analogue studio tapes with album artwork faithfully reproduced. The same applies to these best of and live albums.

Originally released in 1981, Pink Floyd’s A Collection Of Great Dance Songs was certified Double Platinum by the RIAA in 2001. The compilation album contains alternative mixes and versions of the band’s classics including Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) and Money.

Recorded live over five nights in August 1988 at the Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, NY, Delicate Sound Of Thunder became infamous for being the first rock album to be played in outer space.

“The songs were like living entities needing to be drawn into our world. The music is so original it is hard for me to categorise and it will definitely challenge music fans, but ultimately I think it will satisfy them beyond what any generic band copying what has gone before ever could.”

Frederick hopes the fans will get something truly special from the music that is a blend of everything he is musically and is definitely more accessible than what he has done in the past.

“I wanted to feature my freak instrument of a nine-string bass. It is often a Frankenstein of bits and pieces of writing. But I also want people to know it’s not about shredding or anything. I wanted to see how I could apply this weird playing style in a musically accessible venue. My art is song writing plus arranging and the 9 string is only one aspect of it. I find it definitely adds an interesting flavor. Hopefully people will see it for what it is as a whole.”

Vvon Dogma I’s debut EP Communion features four tracks experimenting with elements of prog, djent, funk, and electronic sampling to create a sound truly all their own. Their first single, the EP’s title track, is a trip for the true lovers of outside the box thinking, bashing the low ends with a pummeling and dominating 9 string bass accompanied by the ripping of an 8 string guitar along with some morbid electronic samples for good measure. “Communion” will definitely get the true avant-garde tech musicians anticipating more with the small taster.

Canadian metal legends ANVIL will release their new album, "Pounding The Pavement", on January 19, 2018 via SPV/Steamhammer as a digipak version (including one bonus track and poster), two-LP gatefold colored version, digital download and stream. The disc was produced at the Soundlodge studios in Rhauderfehn in the northwest of Germany, where ANVIL found not only the necessary peace and seclusion to concentrate on their recordings, but also met in studio owner Jörg Uken the ideal producer for their ambitioned work.

Why has "Pounding The Pavement" turned into such an awesome offering? Guitarist/vocalist Steve "Lips" Kudlow explains: "The songwriting process started immediately after the work on our previous album, 'Anvil Is Anvil', had been completed. So our thoughts instantly turned to the future again. After 'Anvil Is Anvil' had been cut, everybody knew what we had just delivered and what ANVIL's future should sound like."

Despite the diverse range of their ideas, Kudlow, drummer Robb Reiner and their bassist Chris Robertson have succeeded in filling the typical trademarks of this unusual band with life once again — which is an important aspect for every ANVIL release. After all, tradition and reliability play an essential role in this group. Kudlow says: "Of course we always allow inspirations from earlier recordings to seep in, but always with an emphasis on evolving the characteristic ANVIL sound.

"Lots of fans keep asking us to play the way we did in the so-called good old days. That's why I try from time to time to pick up on that exciting feel of our older material. Mind you, it's always exclusively about the basic atmosphere of that time, never about copying an older song."

The programmatic album title "Pounding The Pavement" is a synonym for the consistently serious challenge of ensuring ANVIL's financial survival. Kudlow says: "I feel nothing could describe the way we've been working for the past forty years better than 'Pounding The Pavement'. ANVIL have tried for four decades to earn enough money to survive and continue to make music."

OF MICE & MEN have released "Unbreakable", a short film that brings fans onstage and behind the scenes for a unique look at life on the road with a touring rock band. Directed by Johann Ramos, the documentary follows OF MICE & MEN (bassist/vocalist Aaron Pauley, drummer Valentino Arteaga and guitarists Phil Manansala and Alan Ashby) across multiple continents for a series of electrifying performances captured earlier this year.

Arteaga told Fuel The Scene about "Unbreakable": "That documents our summer playing festivals and going and playing small club shows overseas and just really reconnecting with our fans. For us, that's so important, and our love for our fans and just music — not even just fans. Those are people that support us and support our vision and our dreams, not to mention music lovers." The band, which is currently on the road with IN THIS MOMENT, is also putting the finishing touches on its new album, which was recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (ALL THAT REMAINS, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, IN FLAMES) in Los Angeles. Songs set to appear on the disc include "Warzone" and "How Will You Live". The disc will mark OF MICE & MEN's first full-length release without vocalist Austin Carlile, who left the group due to his ongoing battle with Marfan syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that afflicts the connective tissue holding the body's cells, organs and tissue together. Handling lead vocals in the band now is Pauley. "The whole energy of the record is very centered around our live shows," Pauley told Alternative Press. "Our past records were made after extended breaks, so it's hard to remember that live connection. But we've played so many shows over the summer that it bled into the music we made. We're all very well connected on this record." The album follows two new songs, "Unbreakable" and "Back To Me", which were released earlier this year and have racked up close to twenty million combined streams to date. The band maintained momentum by delivering a string of electrifying, show-stealing performances at some of the world's biggest rock festivals, including Las Rageous, Fort Rock, Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Northern Invasion, Rock On The Range, Download, In.Fest and Nova Rock, to name but a few. Carlile originally left OF MICE & MEN in 2010 after his doctor forbade him from touring to undergo heart surgery tied to complications with Marfan Syndrome. "Wake Up Call", a new song from the Atlantic Records/604 Records group THEORY OF A DEADMAN, can be streamed below. "Nexus", the title track of the collaborative album from YES guitarist Steve Howe and his late son Virgil Howe — can be streamed below.

On September 11, 2017, Virgil — Steve's youngest son — passed away unexpectedly at the age of 41. As a result, YES announced the immediate cancellation of the remaining dates of its "Yestival" tour.

Steve and Virgil's collaborative album, "Nexus", was completed before the tour started and was due out this year. Steve has decided to continue with these plans.

"Virgil and I had only recently completed recording 'Nexus', which contains eleven of his tunes to which I added a guitar to suit each one," Steve said. "We delivered it to InsideOut Music in August for release on 17th November.

"We started to work together in 2016 by selecting about nine tunes from his 'stockpile' of piano-based music that he'd periodically sent Jan and I each time he'd written and recorded a new idea. I began adding guitars to them, then I'd play them to Virgil. He'd then surprise me by bringing up other channels of instrumentation which I'd never heard. The tunes went from straightforward 'duets' to something bigger and better, more of a complete picture than a mere shape. 'Free Fall' and 'Nick's Star' were added from earlier sessions, the latter being his tribute to the passing of his best friend Nick Hirsch. "'Nexus' explores a completely different side of Virgil's ability, as a writer and keyboard player — 'in his own right.' His talents were multi-diverse, so sitting at a keyboard and computer or in the middle of his drum kit, at all his regular DJ-ing gigs or on the radio, he always gave his best.

"We hope that the music just completed will stand as a fitting tribute to his life and legacy."

Thomas Waber, label manager/A&R international, and Stefan Franke, product manager at InsideOut Music, said in a statement: "The sudden passing of Virgil Howe deeply shocked the entire InsideOut Music team as it happened just a few hours after he had approved the first press release about 'Nexus'. With his band LITTLE BARRIE he also was part of the score for the AMC TV series "Better Call Saul".

On "Nexus", Steve handled acoustic, electric and steel guitars whereas Virgil took care of bass, drums and all keys. The results are beautiful, diverse compositions varying between neoclassical elements, dreamy jazz, straightforward grooves and cinematic, spacey themes. "Nexus" is an instrumental album that impresses with its feeling and moods and unites two musician's individual biographies and styles as a fascinating whole.

"Nexus" will be released on November 17 as a special edition CD digipak (international version), jewelcase CD (USA, Canada, Mexico), black 180-gram LP plus CD and digital download. The artwork was created by Virgil's five-year old daughter Zuni.

The four members of the Polish death metal band DECAPITATED have issued a statement in response to their having been formally charged with rape in Spokane County, Washington. The four had already been charged with kidnapping in the first degree.

The group says: "We'd like to emphasize; the Spokane Police Department has pressed charges as procedural formality, without doing so, they would be forced to release band. This is not a conviction or any indication of guilt or innocence.

"Once again, we ask that everyone wait for each party's case to be presented and await the court's decision. With that said, whilst cases are being prepared on both sides, some facts are indisputable at this point — that the original officer who took the complaint from the accuser stated, 'I do not have probable cause that a rape occurred,' and it's taken a full thirty days to file charges, which is right up against the point at which the defendants would legally have had to be released.

"The band firmly refutes the allegations and are confident that once the facts and evidence have been seen and heard, they will be released and able to return home.

"Individuals who were present on the night in question with information about the case are asked to reach out to the defense lawyer, Steve Graham of Spokane, Washington."

According to The Spokesman-Review, the rape charges vary between the four, from second degree for 31-year-old singer Rafal Piotrowski and 35-year-old guitarist Waclaw Kieltyka, to third degree for 27-year-old drummer Michal Lysejko and 30-year-old bassist Hubert Wiecek.

The woman alleged she was gang-raped by the musicians in their tour bus bathroom after DECAPITATED's August 31 concert with THY ART IS MURDER at The Pin concert venue in downtown Spokane as part of the two bands' "Double Homicide" tour. The woman said entered the bus for drinks with the band before each member forced themselves on her.

Deputies later stated the victim had "significant bruising to her upper arms consistent with being restrained" and "small abrasions on her knuckles that were scabbed over."

All four members of DECAPITATED were arrested on September 9 in Santa Ana, California after performing at the Observatory. They were held in Los Angeles County Jail before being extradited to Spokane.

Graham told The Spokesman-Review that there is "another side to this."

"We have witnesses that can testify to the fact that the accuser came to visit the band of her own free will and left on good terms," he said. "The accuser has a documented history of providing false information to the police dating back to 2014."

DECAPITATED announced last month that it was canceling all previously announced tour dates. The band also publicly denied the accusations.

HELLYEAH will release a "deluxe" edution of its latest album, "Unden!able", on October 27 via Eleven Seven Music as a CD/DVD Best Buy exclusive and CD and live audio digital deluxe. The physical package contains the fan-shot live concert DVD, "We're All In This Together". The digital package contains the live audio from the DVD.

Maxwell recently confirmed that HELLYEAH will once again work with producer Kevin Churko, who helmed "Unden!able" and 2014's "Blood For Blood" record. "Yes, I hope so, yes," the guitarist said. "I don't wanna work with anybody else. [He's] kind of like the sixth member.

"For me, producers… It's a loosely thrown around word," he continued. "In my opinion, most producers are just glorified engineers. They know how to do good sounds, but a good producer, to me, is a composer who can bring ideas, who can help you re-write your song five or six different ways. And that's a good thing to have. I welcome feedback, and I welcome other ideas. It just inspires me. You might not like it, you might like it; you've just gotta try it and see if it works.

"So, yeah, the next record, I'm sure we're gonna be back in the studio with Kevin and it's gonna be just like what we're doing now — moving forward, [recording the] same heavy [kind of stuff]. Up and down, and giving people a journey."

The official lyric video for "Evento", a new song from Portuguese metallers MOONSPELL, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "1755", which will be released on November 3 via Napalm Records. The Portuguese-language disc was written about the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, also known as the Great Lisbon earthquake, which occurred in the Kingdom of Portugal. In combination with subsequent fires and a tsunami, the earthquake almost totally destroyed Lisbon and adjoining areas.

MOONSPELL vocalist Fernando Ribeiro states: "Bury the dead. Take care of the living". Is one of the most famous quote of Marquis of Pombal (Sebastião José Carvalho e Melo), the minister of the King who together with the crowds of Lisbon and his engineers rebuilt a new Lisbon from the ashes and ruins of the old in just one year time.

"'Event' talks about fate, a dialogue built between the narration of the day and the state of mind of Lisbon's inhabitants and the all powerful choir telling me to be still and accept God's will. This conflict and the desacralisation of Lisbon is one of the most interesting aspects of this accursed day. A fight that allowed Portugal to step out finally from the Middle Ages and make the country’s entry into Enlightenment."

"1755" was produced by Tue Madsen (MESHUGGAH, THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILITY, DIR EN GREY, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER) and features Paulo Bragança supplying the haunting voice of a Fado fallen angel who is a big part of the Portuguese culture. His fascinating vocals are included in the song "In Tremor Dei" (English-language translation: "Fear Of God").

"The year of 1755 marked the birth of a new Portugal. Much more than just the greatest natural disaster ever to occur on European soil, the great Lisbon Quake, shockwaves cannot be reduced to a dramatic death toll.

"From absolute tragedy, a new city was born, giving way to a new time where Portuguese relied more on themselves than on the crown or the cross, granting us much of the city, the lay country, the free will that we enjoy today.

"This is not just another album from us. It's a musical and lyrical history document, a homage we pay to our legacy and to the amazing skills and resilience of our fellow Portuguese back then, of all mankind when brought down to the knees by the violent forces of nature and reason. In a 2016 interview with Spark TV, Ribeiro stated about the new MOONSPELL album concept: "I always was very fascinated about the apocalypse, the end of things, and we had this experience in the 18th Century, in 1755, and it really affected not only by the destruction and the death toll — it was very high, and it was probably one of the biggest earthquakes ever to occur on European soil — but it also influenced the way people looked at Gods, at religion, the way Europe changed. And it was tragic and traumatic, but the earthquake was the birth of a more modern Portugal, a Portugal that actually would enjoy a period of prosperity after, and the Portugal that was, before the earthquake, just going down and lost in vice and corruption and greed. So I think it makes for an interesting subject, and it makes it even more interesting if I do it in Portuguese, because it happened there."

"Letter To Myself", the new single from CYHRA, the band featuring former IN FLAMES members Peter Iwers (bass) and Jesper Strömblad (guitar) alongside ex-AMARANTHE singer Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg, LUCA TURILLI'S RHAPSODY drummer Alex Landenburg and former SHINING guitarist Euge Valovirta, can be streamed below. The song is taken from CYHRA's debut album, "Letters To Myself", which will be released on October 20 via Spinefarm Records. The disc was recorded at Top Floor Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg commented: "It feels amazing to have 'Letter To Myself' as a single as this was the first song me and Jesper wrote together.

"I am very proud of how this song ended up and the lyrics are so straightforward that I bet that most people can relate to those.

"Most of us have been through problems of getting out of a bad relationship or battling with ones like gambling or addiction.

"I can't wait to have the whole album to be released and see people's reactions."

Speaking to AntiHero Magazine, Jake stated about CYHRA's formation: "I have been friends with Jesper for a long time, probably ten years. We met for the first time when I was working for IN FLAMES as a pyro technician back in the day. That was also when I got to know Peter. We had been friends since then. I was considering to make a solo album, and I would say that I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I'm probably going to write some songs as well. And he asked me, 'Would you do the vocals on my solo album?' And I said, 'Of course. Would you be interested in playing guitar on whatever I'm doing?' And he said yes. And then we started to talk about what our solo albums, projects, whatever it was meant to be would sound like and when we were discussing that we just realized that okay, we want the same. We want to make the same album. So that's where it all came to be and then we decided to start writing songs together. So, we were actually talking over a cup of coffee on a Friday and then on Monday we actually sat down in the studio and we started working on the first song. So that was really, really good. And then when we were doing the same thing there, we didn't know what to do. But after a couple of songs, everything started to come together. Then Jesper said, 'Okay what are we going to do?' And I said that I had the perfect drummer for this band, and that's Alex Landenburg. I said that you are going to love this guy. And a couple of months later we all met, and Jesper and Alex became best friends instantly. And then Jesper said that it would be cool if Peter would like to join. And so we asked him and he was still the bassist for IN FLAMES, and he said, 'Yeah, absolutely, I will gladly jump on board of this ship. But just to let you know, I am going to still be a member of IN FLAMES as well.' We were cool with that and then things happened like they did. Peter eventually decided to part ways with IN FLAMES."

Regarding the CYHRA sound, Jake said: "It is hard to describe what we sound like because we've been writing for almost a year. We've been influenced by so many different bands. We are, of course, influenced by ourselves. Because like, as the main songwriter in all our different projects before, you know, like, Jesper has his touch of things, I have the touch on my side, and also the other guys. Of course, you will find similarities in our former bands. But I won't say that we have reinvented the wheel in any way, but it's still something that sounds really, really fresh and new, even though music is music. You could always probably find similarities. But I would not say that it sounds like old AMARANTHE, or that it sounds like IN FLAMES. But you could completely, you know, recognize yourself within these boundaries."

Jake E announced his departure from AMARANTHE in February, explaining at the time that he began to feel that "my place both on the albums and live was reduced; I felt like I was superfluous… I started to feel more like a backing singer."

Iwers issued a statement in November saying that he was leaving IN FLAMES "to pursue other endeavors." He has since been replaced on the road by Bryce Paul, a member of the Southern California pop-rock outfit IVES.

Strömblad quit IN FLAMES in February 2010 in order to continue receiving treatment for his alcohol addiction. He later formed THE RESISTANCE with Marco Aro (vocals, THE HAUNTED) and Glenn Ljungström (guitar, ex-IN FLAMES), only to exit that band in March 2016.

CYHRA will make its live debut on October 27 at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland.

Swedish heavy metallers, Ram, will release their new album, Rod, on November 3rd via Metal Blade Records. A video for the new single, “On Wings Of No Return”, can be seen below.

According to The Spokesman-Review, all four members of the Polish death metal band DECAPITATED have been formally charged with rape in Spokane County, Washington. The four had already been charged with kidnapping in the first degree.

The rape charges vary between the four, from second degree for 31-year-old singer Rafal Piotrowski and 35-year-old guitarist Waclaw Kieltyka, to third degree for 27-year-old drummer Michal Lysejko and 30-year-old bassist Hubert Wiecek.

Kieltyka will appear in Superior Court Friday, according to his attorney.

The woman alleged she was gang-raped by the musicians in their tour bus bathroom after DECAPITATED's August 31 concert with THY ART IS MURDER at The Pin concert venue in downtown Spokane as part of the two bands' "Double Homicide" tour. The woman said entered the bus for drinks with the band before each member forced themselves on her.

Deputies later stated the victim had "significant bruising to her upper arms consistent with being restrained" and "small abrasions on her knuckles that were scabbed over."

All four members of DECAPITATED were arrested on September 9 in Santa Ana, California after performing at the Observatory. They were held in Los Angeles County Jail before being extradited to Spokane.

Graham told The Spokesman-Review that there is "another side to this."

"We have witnesses that can testify to the fact that the accuser came to visit the band of her own free will and left on good terms," he said. "The accuser has a documented history of providing false information to the police dating back to 2014."

DECAPITATED announced last month that it was canceling all previously announced tour dates. The band also publicly denied the accusations.

"While we are not perfect human beings, we are not kidnappers, rapists, or criminals. As such, we strongly deny the allegations that have recently been brought against us," they wrote. "We ask that everyone please reserve their judgment until a definitive outcome has been reached, as charges have yet to be pressed. Full testimony and evidence will be presented in due time, and we have faith in that process."
