LENG TCH\'E: New Album Artwork, Track Listing Unveiled

ICED EARTH\'s \'Box Of The Wicked\' Detailed
 ICED EARTH's "Box Of The Wicked" ( cover) will be released in Europe on April 26 (three days earlier in Germany) and May 18 in the U.S. via SPV/Steamhammer Records. The set is limited to 10,000 copies worldwide.
While ICED EARTH's 1998 album "Something Wicked This Way Comes" provided a general overview of the story guitarist/songwriter Jon Schaffer has been conceptualizing for well over a decade, the saga was fully brought to life with the release of the back-to-back conceptual albums "Framing Armageddon" and "The Crucible of Man". The albums provided answers to mysteries the previous releases created, and the timeliness of the story in today's world were guaranteed to keep people thinking and guessing. Schaffer's ability to convey the central themes and events of the story without always revealing exactly "why" characters' decisions are made and "how" events come to pass will keep fans of the saga coming back as future mediums for the "Something Wicked" storyline are revealed.
The whole saga is now included in this high-quality hardcover boxset (height 13 cm, depth 4.5 cm, width 14.5 cm) featuring the original digipak CDs "Framing Armageddon" and "The Crucible Of Man" as well as the original digipaks EPs "Overture Of The Wicked" and "I Walk Among You". In addition, the boxset includes a bonus cardboard CD with one song from "Framing Armageddon" now sung by Matt Barlow and three previously unreleased live tracks from the Belgian Graspop Metal Meeting festival in 2008, also featuring Barlow on vocals. FULLFORCE Issues Studio Update
 FULLFORCE lineup — the new Swedish melodic metal project featuring Mike Andersson (CLOUDSCAPE, SILENT MEMORIAL, PLANET ALLIANCE) on vocals, Stefan Elmgren (HAMMERFALL) on guitar, Anders Johansson (HAMMERFALL, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) on drums, Carl-Johan Grimmark (NARNIA) on guitar, and Tommy Larsson (HEED) on bass — has issued the following update:
"Anders Johansson has almost completed the drum recording. He is currently in the States with HAMMERFALL so as soon as he gets back home he will record the remaining two songs for the forthcoming debut album. The remaining instruments will be recorded very soon and the band aim to have everything recorded and ready for mix by the end of June.
"A promoter in Germany will start to shop around with labels very soon, so if everything goes well, the band will be able to have the album released during the second half of 2010. Gigs and tours will follow after the release." | 0 | |

DEW-SCENTED New Album Track Listing Revealed
 German thrashers DEW-SCENTED have finished recording and mixing their new album, "Invocation", at Soundlodge Studio in Northern Germany with producer Jörg Uken (GOD DETHRONED, SINISTER). The band's eigth full length will be released May 25 in North America via Prosthetic Records, and May 24 in Europe through Metal Blade.
Commented vocalist Leif Jensen: "It is done! After long weeks of intense work, we are finished tracking and mixing this new album...What a great feeling!
"The new song material is totally fresh and energetic to us and I hope all you thrash maniacs will dig it as much as we do!

Концерты CHIMAIRA отменяются
 Much to our despair, we’ve been denied entry into Russia to perform for our patient and metal starved fans. After having to postpone the original dates from October 2009, we’ve had plenty of time to prepare for this trip. Everything has been in place for weeks now…The gear has been ordered, the flights have been booked, and we’re HERE, on the European continent, ready to depart for St. Petersburg tomorrow morning. But to our absolute dismay and MASSIVE financial burden, the Russian Embassy has refused to issue us our visas. Nice timing right? And after our road manager spending three days at the Embassy searching for answers and resolution, we’ve basically been given the middle finger, and there’s nothing further we can do. Our biggest regret is for the fans who have been waiting months for this weekend to come, and we hope they can understand that we’ve exhausted every option to correct the situation. Please accept our deepest apologies, we’ll try to make it up to you all one day.

ANACRUSIS: Two Newly Re-Recorded Tracks Available For Streaming
 Reunited St. Louis-based progressive/melodic thrash metal act ANACRUSIS recently spent time in the studio putting the finishing touches on a "new" album, entitled "Hindsight: Suffering Hour & Reason Revisited". According to the band, the two-CD set will feature both ANACRUSIS' debut album, "Suffering Hour", and its second release, "Reason", along with the classic ANACRUSIS demo track "Apocalypse", all fully re-recorded by the original lineup of Kenn Nardi, Kevin Heidbreder, John Emery and Mike Owen. The package will also feature a 24-page, full-color booklet with lyrics and lots of photos both old and new. The cover art was created by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, SIGH, MEKONG DELTA, GWAR) and can be viewed below.

SABATON: New Album Title Track Available For Streaming
 "Coat Of Arms", the title track of the forthcoming fifth album from Swedish metallers SABATON, is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
"Coat Of Arms" will be released in Europe on May 21 via Nuclear Blast Records. The band's headlining tour, dubbed the "World War Tour", will kick off on August 27 and will consist of over 60 shows in more than 20 countries. The final concert will take place on December 11, after which SABATON "will regroup, rearm and prepare for yet another strike in 2011."

 The European release date for "We Rule The Night", the new album from Swedish/British modern metallers SONIC SYNDICATE, has been pushed back to July 30 from the previously announced May 28 (via Nuclear Blast Records). MICHAEL SCHENKER: New MSG Concert DVD, Instructional DVD Coming Soon
 Legendary guitarist Michael Schenker's official web site has been updated with the following message:
"We successfully finished the MSG [MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP] 30th-anniversary (special line-up) Japan tour. A DVD and recording featuring live footage from this tour will be released in autumn. Also, a long-awaited instructional DVD will be available in stores soon."
According to a posting on MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP guitarist/keyboardist Wayne Findlay's MySpace page, an MSG show filmed in January 2010 in Japan will be aired on the Japanese TV channel NHK-BS2 on Saturday, March 27 from 11:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. local time.

HEAVENWOOD - New Re-Recorded Song Available For Download
 Portuguese metallers HEAVENWOOD have re-recorded the second song of their first four-track demo-tape titled, As Illusive As A Dream, dated from 1994. The song is ‘Mortality In Me‘ and it is available now for free download at this location.
Commented guitar-player Ricardo Dias: "'Mortality in Me' was a challenge. We worked on the song the hardest way because we wanted it to sound the most 'analogical' and '90's as possible. Honestly speaking I'm surprised with myself and the rest of the band. It may not sound perfect, once we're not perfect and machines are but a mere reflection of our expression and faith in everything we inject sonically. But it is indeed very honest.“

SAXON: \'Heavy Metal Thunder - The Movie\' DVD Detailed
 The long-awaited documentary on British rock legends SAXON, "Heavy Metal Thunder - The Movie", will finally be released next month. The delay was caused by the filmmakers' (U.K.'s Coolhead Productions) desire to include newly discovered vintage footage and additional interviews.
Commented Coolhead: "There's no doubt in our minds that when you sit down to watch the film, and all of the amazing extras we've crammed in (over six hours worth of material, with even more stuff which we're planning to make available online to purchasers), you'll agree it's been worth the wait."

SPIRITUAL BEGGARS Issue Studio Update
 SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, the Swedish band featuring ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott and bassist Sharlee D'Angelo, has issued the following update:
"Yes, it's been a long time coming — but we have finally got ourselves back into the studio to record the follow-up to our last studio album, 'Demons' (2005).
"What's five years between friends? :)
"It's been a busy few weeks here in the BEGGARS camp... We started with a week of pre-production rehearsals with the whole band and got all the songs nice and tight, ready and rockin'! We then relocated to Sweetspot Studio and started tracking drums with our producer, Rickard Bengtsson. Ludwig Witt (drums) nailed it in four days and we swiftly moved on to rhythm guitars and bass tracks and finished off with a lead guitar session!
"Needless to say, we used a lot of vintage equipment in this process and we got some really amazing tones.
"The studio itself has really excellent acoustics and that shows in the fantastic drum sound we captured… big, bold and natural!
"To describe the music itself, we feel the songs are strong and melodic with a lot of '70s and early '80s hard rock atmosphere…
"If you are a fan of our albums 'On Fire' and 'Demons', we are pretty sure you will also enjoy this next chapter…
"We'll pick up the work on the record again in April for vocals and keyboards..."

LACRIMOSA - Anniversary Album Artwork Revealed
 As previously reported, for their 20th anniversary, Swiss goth legends LACRIMOSA will release a new double-CD with 17 previously unreleased tracks from their 20-years band history on May 7th, including the first demos from 1990 and brand-new songs, which at present LACRIMOSA are recording in the studio. The album will be called Schattenspiel and the two new songs are: Sellador' and 'Ohne Dich Ist Alles Nichts'.

Starting April 17th, the band will begin to preview audio samples on their MySpace as they reveal the tracklist bit by bit.

DARKSUN - New Album Details Revealed; New Tour Dates Announced
 Spain's DARKSUN will be releasing their new album, Tocar El Sol on April 5 through FC Metal Recordings. This album will feature the recording debuts of new members Jose Ojeda (drums) and Adrian Huelga (bass), and is once again being produced by vocalist Dani G. PRIMAL FEAR Cancels WACKEN OPEN AIR Appearance
 German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR have been forced to cancel their appearance at the Wacken Open Air festival "due to an important private appointment." Organizers say that the band will "try to make up for Wacken Open Air 2011."
This year's edition of the Wacken Open Air festival is scheduled to take place August 5-7 in Wacken, Germany.

SLASH: Five Complete Songs From Solo Album Available For Streaming
 Four complete tracks from legendary guitarist Slash's (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) first true solo album, simply entitled "Slash", have been posted online ahead of the CD's release. LED ZEPPELIN Approached To Headline U.K.\'s DOWNLOAD Festival
 The organizer of the U.K.'s annual Download festival has told Xfm that LED ZEPPELIN were approached to headline this year's event. Andy Copping admitted that having AC/DC and ZEPPELIN on the same bill would constitute his dream bill.
"If I could get LED ZEPPELIN to play at Download, it would be phenomenal," said the festival chief. "If that's not going to happen, I'm more than happy with what we've got."
"Every single festival in the world approaches LED ZEPPELIN or their management to get them to pay at their festival. Loads of money gets thrown out. It's not what they want to do at the moment and that's fine. They probably never will, but everyone has a stab at it."

EARTH CRISIS Taps FALL OUT BOY Drummer
 Seminal straight edge band EARTH CRISIS has recruited FALL OUT BOY drummer Andy Hurley for its upcoming U.S. tour with FIRST BLOOD and THICK AS BLOOD.
Hurley will temporarily fill in for Dennis Merrick, who is unable to tour with the band for several dates.
