RATT - Infestation Tracklisting Revealed
It’s no secret that RATT are back and raring to go. The band is proud to announce April 20, 2010 as the release date for their Loud & Proud debut, Infestation, an 11-song opus that is their first studio record in 11 years. The first single, 'Best Of Me', is scheduled to impact rock radio on February 21. The song is available below.
There’s been a flurry of activity in the Ratt camp in the past few years. Vocalist Stephen Pearcy has returned to the fold and the band has since signed to Loud & Proud/Roadrunner. The legendary Los Angeles rock squad, also featuring guitarist Warren DeMartini, drummer Bobby Blotzer, bassist Robbie Crane and new guitarist Carlos Cavazo, engineered Hollywood’s much-heralded Sunset Strip sound in the 1980s.
“We wanted this to be like something that we would have written right after [1984’s] Out Of The Cellar, Pearcy said. “We definitely went back to basics with the mindset of a band with a lot of excitement and some great songs to get out.” Infestation was produced by Elvis Baskette (CHEVELLE, ALTER BRIDGE) in the helmer’s Virginia studio, marking the first time the band has recorded outside of Los Angeles. The album is full of attitude and of reflection, cycling through a range of emotions. There are party anthems that Ratt are known for alongside more contemplative, thoughtful tunes. The track listing for the album is as follows:
'Eat Me Up Alive'
'Best Of Me'
'A Little Too Much'
'Look Out Below'
'Last Call'
'Lost Weekend'
'As Good As It Gets'
'Garden Of Eden'
'Take A Big Bite'
'Take Me Home'
'Don’t Let Go' | 0 | |

APOCALYPTICA Offer Insight Into New Album
APOCALYPTICA continues work on their new album and has provided the following update:
"Exciting...yes, that's how it's gonna be... brave solutions, lots of strange ideas, untypical stuff, stuff that you definitely-not-should-do, but we did it anyhow... it's cool. This studio madness is conquering us all...
It's getting heavy. Tired men, everyone, but still trying to crumple the last 10 days... recording, rehearsing, recording, interviews, arranging, recording, rehearsing, eating youghurt, recording, arranging etc..."

UNEARTH - New \'Crow Killer\' Video Available
Bloody-Disgusting.com is currently hosting the exclusive premier of UNEARTH's brand new video for the track ‘Crow Killer’, off the band’s latest album The March.
You can watch the video below. This is a new version of the live video Unearth shot back in 2009 as a part of their bonus DVD that was released with the Special Edition of The March on November 11th 2009.
Vocalist Trevor Phipps comments: “The new 'Crow Killer' video is a combination of both club and festival show footage as well as behind the scenes clips from tour. This edit of the video is different than the one seen on the special edition of The March as it is more of a compilation of what is on the special DVD itself. Former GORGOROTH Frontman Named \'Homosexual Of The Year\'
Last week the annual Bergen Gay Galla was held, and various awards were presented to persons and institutions that have contributed to the gay community in Bergen, Norway.
The most prestigious award was given to Kristian Espedal (a.k.a. Gaahl). The former GORGOROTH vocalist was named "Homosexual Of The Year" and accepted the award in person.
"I don't need an award to be myself. But if this can help other people in the same scene as me, it's a positive thing," Gaahl told local newspaper Bergensavisen.
Gaahl, 34, is involved in a relationship with 19-year-old Robin Jakobsen (pictured below with Gaahl).
When asked how he met his current partner, Gaahl said, "It was after closing time. I was at Fincken (gay bar in Bergen). Robin came to the club to look for his former boyfriend. I was buzzed on white wine, and suddenly I saw a glowing figure in the door. That was Robin. I thought to myself that he must be mine."
Was it love at first sight?
"No…I had to work a little for it."
Were people surprised when you came out as a homosexual?
"I think it's strange that it wasn't known before, but I never had a need to go public with it. Finally a German journalist had the guts to ask the question, and I answered him. It wasn't any more painful than that."

MADAM ADAM Recording Debut Album
Roadrunner Records has announced the signing of Charleston, South Carolina rock band MADAM ADAM. The group is currently finishing up the recording of its as-yet untitled debut in Nashville, Tennessee with producer/mixer Skidd Mills (SAVING ABEL, SALIVA, SKILLET, SICK PUPPIES). A summer release is expected.
MADAM ADAM — vocalist/guitarist Scott Gould, bassist Kenny Varner, guitarist Drew Reindollar and drummer Matthew Reindollar — has posted webisodes from the studio sessions on its MySpace page, which are viewable here.
Roadrunner Senior VP of A&R Ron Burman commented about the signing, saying, "I'm really excited to be working with MADAM ADAM. They have really catchy rock songs, the kind that I grew up listening to on rock radio. MADAM ADAM write songs that stick in your head after one listen, which is rare. The singer, Scott, has a great voice and they are an exceptionally good live band."
"We're grateful for the opportunity to work with Ron Burman and the staff at Roadrunner — to have such an accomplished team behind us is that dream every kid with a guitar hopes becomes a reality," Gould said. "Last week, we laid the final tracks to the debut, thanks in part to producer Skidd 'The Wizard' Mills and at the moment we're describing it as 'Casablanca' starring Conan the Barbarian." | 0

NOUMENA Issue Band Update
Finnish death metallers NOUMENA have issued the following band update from bassist Hannu Savolainen:
"Yeah, we are still here. Though we are almost drowned in snow here in Finland.
Lately, we have been rehearsing for the gig in Helsinki. There will be - again - some new material in our setlist, and our beloved Suvi on female vocals.
We have written new songs, which we find pretty goddamn good. Time is the crucial factor here, we should find enough time to rehearse and arrange new material so that we could enter studio to make demo versions. Then we need a record deal and so on, boring stuff... but inevitable.
We are quite anxious to forge a new album and I bet you guys wait it like a preacher man waits for the apocalypse. But, we want it to be great with no fillers on it. Solid, catchy and strong songs.
Anyway, keep your horns sharp and the scene alive!"

THEM CROOKED VULTURES Plan To Record Again This Year
The Pulse of Radio reports that THEM CROOKED VULTURES apparently plan to record their second album later this year, according to a new interview with bassist John Paul Jones at Stuff.co.nz. Jones explained, "We'll do a second album this year. By the end of summer, something like that . . . We're all hard workers. In a way we need to do this for ourselves. Once we committed to it we worked as hard as a young band would, put the hours in. It's got to be good — we've got reputations to uphold more than anything else."
VULTURES singer/guitarist Josh Homme also expressed confidence in an interview with England's BBC 6 that a second album was in the cards, saying, "We love playing in this (band). We have such a good time together and it's fun and it feels like we're obligated to risk and challenge ourselves."

TRIVIUM Officially Announces New Drummer
Florida metallers TRIVIUM have announced Nick Augusto as their new permanent drummer. Augusto was introduced to TRIVIUM fans when he filled in behind the kit on last fall's "Into the Mouth of Hell We Tour" trek. He is now stepping in to permanently replace the departing Travis Smith.
Vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy commented, "We're really happy to have our good friend and fellow Floridian Nick Augusto join the TRIVIUM family. Nick's drumming is very technical and diverse and he brings a real intense energy to the band and we can't wait for everyone to hear the new song, 'Shattering the Skies Above', that we just recorded with Nick. I think it's the best TRIVIUM recording we've ever done; it's raw, full of energy and I think Nick's drumming really pushed us to a new level."
Smith sat out the second leg of the band's North American "Into The Mouth Of Hell" tour in order to take care of "some personal business" at home.

MORTAL SIN Parts Ways With Guitarist, Begins Writing New Material
Guitarist Mick Sultana has left veteran Australian thrashers MORTAL SIN for "personal reasons." A replacement axeman has not yet been announced.
MORTAL SIN is currently writing material for the follow-up to 2007's "An Absence of Faith". Singer Mat Maurer states, "We are notoriously slow writers, but many of you who may have heard the new song, 'Deny', that we have been road-testing at our shows will agree that we could be onto something special here.
"Like many thrash bands, we feel strongly about our thrash roots and want to create an album of pure thrash. If we could combine KREATOR's 'Hordes Of Chaos', TESTAMENT's 'The Formation Of Damnation' and OVERKILL's newie 'Ironbound' into a huge melting pot, that would be the kind of album we wanna make!!"
MORTAL SIN last year released a live album, "Into the Inferno (Live in Oslo)", via Riot! Entertainment. The CD, which contains the group's March 2008 performance in Oslo, Norway, was described by the band as "possibly the best live show MORTAL SIN have ever had recorded."
Once hailed as the next METALLICA, MORTAL SIN have become legends in their home country Australia, having been inducted into the Kerrang! Heavy Metal Hall of Fame in 2005 and being the only Australian band to have played with the big five of thrash — METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, MEGADETH and TESTAMENT — on tours in Australia and overseas. | 0

Welsh metallers ANTERIOR have announced the addition of drummer James Cook to the group's ranks.
Commented the band, "If any of you saw us play in December, the fine gentlemen behind the kit will now be joining the band full-time.
"We would like to welcome James Cook into the band and are very excited to see what he adds to the fold. He did a great job on our December tour with only a few rehearsals beforehand. He is a great guy and an exceptional musician.

MEGADETH: New Song Part Of \'Huge Project\'
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has issued the following update:
"For the last few weeks I have been telling you about a huge project coming up. Well, yesterday I submitted our work for approval and it was approved, so very soon we will be able to say 'what' this very big announcement is. Rest assured it involves a new song that I have just recently written, with more co-writing from Chris Broderick [MEGADETH guitarist]. It's another aggressive, complicated MEGADETH track, and I will give you more details as soon as I can.
"I was looking at the top 100 albums on Amazon in the thrash category and we have 16 records in the Top 100 on their site. What a great feeling!
"You also no doubt saw all of the tour dates coming in for 2010, which promises to be an extensive touring year. We are planning on (in no particular order — but this is close) doing the 'Rust In Peace' tour all of March with our dear friends in EXODUS and TESTAMENT, which is progressing, then to South America in April, then Europe in June and early July, then Canada in late July, then the States in August with SLAYER, then back to the Pacific Rim after that and HOPEFULLY Australia and New Zealand again.
"We are trying to make our 'Pac Rim Tours' always include New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, South Korea.
"Hopefully we will soon be playing in China (and surrounding areas like Hong Kong, Taipei, and Taiwan), and also in Malaysia (of course we would need the government's permission because we have been banned from playing in Malaysia because of a Satanic ritual where someone painted MEGADETH at a crime scene and the government blamed us and banned us)."

OCEANO Guitarist Quits
Guitarist Andrew Mikhail has left the Chicago deathcore outfit OCEANO. He tells Lambgoat.com, "From day one, I've had a vision of being in a 'band of brothers' to play aggressive music with all across the globe. Whether it was fast, heavy, dark, whatever, I just didn't care. My concerns were if we did it, it was from the heart, and if it got the point across to the world."
Mikhail continues, "Music is an art form and an expression of self and surroundings. I, over time, simply felt like I wasn't getting either out of OCEANO. That's possibly the simplest way I can say why I quit without doing the typical bashing and such. I will say this, I took many 'for the team' personally and for all the people that dug what we did. But, the line has to be drawn somewhere for my own well being and creativity."
Mikhail goes on to thank "anyone and everyone who has supported/hated my work and endeavors with the band. You all will be seeing me soon whether you like it or not."
Berlin, Germany's PitCam Production conducted an interview with Andrew Mikhail when OCEANO played in Berlin on November 18, 2009. Watch the chat below.
A year after completing the recording of their successful 2009 debut, "Depths", OCEANO is heading back into the studio to record their follow-up effort. Set for release later this year, the new album will tell a story that promises to open eyes and deliver a more mature experience than many might normally expect. "Expect us to go DEEPER than 'Depths' this time around, and NOT just meaning heavier," says vocalist Adam Warren. "This is more than just our sophomore album. It is a great vision to be accomplished when all of the pieces we've worked so hard to create — art, music, lyrics and overall atmosphere — come together."
In order to make OCEANO's vision a reality, the band has enlisted the help of Chris "Zeuss" Harris to helm the record. Zeuss, one of the most respected producers in metal today, has worked with such acts as MUNICIPAL WASTE, THE ACACIA STRAIN, HATEBREED and SHADOWS FALL. Known for exponentially increasing an act's natural abilities while in the studio, Zeuss is enthusiastic at the chance to take OCEANO to the next level. "I'm really excited to be working on the new OCEANO record," says the Springfield, Massachusetts-based producer. "I see this as a great opportunity to work with one of the truly talented up and coming bands in the metal genre." Knowing how important it is to extend the band's reach from within their already dominant grasp on the deathcore scene, Zeuss adds, "I look forward to pushing the band to their full potential and making them stand above the rest."
"Depths" sold 2,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at No. 16 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

IMPENDING DOOM Parts Ways With Guitarist, Drummer
California-based Christian death metallers IMPENDING DOOM have confirmed the departures of guitarist Manny Contreras and drummer Isaac Bueno. Bassist David Sittig states, "Both of them felt like this was not for them anymore. It happened a while back before we entered the studio [to record the new IMPENDING DOOM album].
He adds, "Not everyone can maintain the amount of passion that IMPENDING DOOM requires. That being said, we are still great friends with both Manny and Isaac and wish them both nothing but the best.
"Our good friend Brandon Trahan (ex-MIRROR OF DEAD FACES) has stepped in on drums and just recently finished tracking on our upcoming record, which will be released this summer. As for rhythm guitar, we have someone stepping in for our upcoming tours and summer festivals."
"The Serpent Servant", the latest album from IMPENDING DOOM, sold 4,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 144 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at No. 3 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"The Serpent Servant" was recorded at Lambesis Studios in San Diego with Tim Lambesis and Daniel Castleman (AS I LAY DYING, WAR OF AGES, WINDS OF PLAGUE) and was released today (March 31) through Facedown Records. It was mixed and mastered by Zeuss (HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL, TERROR).
IMPENDING DOOM refers to its style of Christian metal as "gorship" — a portmanteau of gore and worship. The band also clarify on their MySpace blog that "gorship" is their way of worshipping God through their gore-sounding music; not worshipping "gore" as some are led to believe.

Sounding strikingly different to the band's debut full-length, "Renascent Misanthropy", in production, tone and song structure, "Anatomy Of The Infinite" was recorded at various studios within Australia and mixed at Mølla Lydstudio in Norway with Knut Magne Valle (ARCTURUS). Featuring eight tracks comprising of haunting and dissonant passages interwoven with moments of epic black metal grandeur, the CD resonates with a more primeval, organic musicality throughout.
"Anatomy Of The Infinite" track listing:
01. Blessed Are The Dead
02. Visceral Incarnate
03. 'Neath The Bones Of Salvation
04. Ad Interim
05. The Scars Of Aberration
06. Foundations In Flesh
07. Relinquishment Of The Stars

JOE PERRY Would \'Definitely\' Consider Getting Female Singer To Front AEROSMITH
Classic Rock Revisited editor Jeb Wright recently conducted an interview with AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry for the "Decades Of Distortion" show on the Arkansas City, Kansas radio station KACY 102.5 FM. The chat is now available for streaming in three parts below.
When asked if there is any truth to Classic Rock magazine's recent report that Perry asked Paul Rodgers if he would be interested in replacing Steven Tyler in AEROSMITH, Joe said, "I mean, obviously that would be a thought, because he is one of my favorite singers of all time, and I got a chance to meet him at Classic Rock Awards [in London] a couple of months ago. But I think that he's a really… him being English from that earlier generation, I don't think that it would work. I mean, it's more than just somebody who can sing. I would love to do — and I probably will — do some tracks with him. As a matter of fact, I think THE JOE PERRY PROJECT is gonna open a tour with them in April in England. The original BAD COMPANY is gonna get back together and they asked me to open the show. So we will be playing together, but I don't think that he'll be… We're young kids to him. I just don't think it's the right chemistry. Technically, I know he's got the chops — I mean, I know he can sing anything he wants — but I think that it's a little bit more than just if he can sing the songs."
Regarding whether AEROSMITH would consider hiring a female singer to replace Tyler, Perry said, "Oh, definitely! No one in the band's brought that up, but sometimes they need a little… You've gotta think out of the box. Oddly enough, a lot of the bands I was in before I had AEROSMITH, I had female singers in the band and it was really good — a lot of great songs. So that's definitely a possibility."
