MORTEMIA: Another Song Available For Streaming
 MORTEMIA, the new project led by Norwegian gothic metal icon Morten Veland (TRISTANIA, SIRENIA), will release its debut album, "Misere Mortem", on February 26 via Napalm Records. Another song from the CD, "The New Desire", is now available for streaming on the new band's MySpace page.

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Drummer Quits
 Barbaranne Wylde, wife and co-manager of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY frontman Zakk Wylde, has confirmed that drummer Craig Nunenmacher has left BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. She writes on her Twitter profile, "[Zakk] was going to share, but I guess I will... Craig has quit the band and we will have a new drummer very soon."
Roadrunner Records recently re-signed BLACK LABEL SOCIETY exclusively for the European territory. The band's as-yet-untitled studio album is due for release this summer. | 0 | |

Greece\'s NIGHTFALL Is Back!
 Greek metallers NIGHTFALL have reformed and have commenced work on a brand new studio album, "Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants", tentatively due later in the year via an as-yet-undisclosed record label. Joining frontman and lyricist Efthimis Karadimas in the band's new lineup are Evan Hensley on guitar, Stathis Kassios on keyboards and Jörg Uken on drums. According to a press release, "these four tyrants are currently in the process of inking a record deal to spread their message through the universe."

WUTHERING HEIGHTS: New Album Details Revealed
 Danish metallers WUTHERING HEIGHTS will release their new album, "Salt", on the following dates:

March 26 - Asia (Marquee/Avalon)
End of April - North America (Sensory)
Produced by and Tommy Hansen and Erik Ravn, the CD was recorded at Jailhouse Studios in Horsens, Denmark with engineer Tommy Hansen; Blueflame Productions in Uppsala, Sweden with engineer Teddy Möller; Studio 907 in Skovlunde, Denmark with engineer Martin Arendal; and The Cave in Copenhagen, Denmark with engineer Erik Ravn. The CD was mixed and mastered by Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse.

GODSMACK Officially Names New Album \'The Oracle\'
 According to The Pulse of Radio, GODSMACK has officially named its new album "The Oracle", after initially calling the project "Saints & Sinners". Footage of the band working in the studio, along with frontman Sully Erna discussing the title change and some of the new material, has been posted online and can be viewed below. The group's fifth studio effort follows up 2006's "IV" and a nearly two-year hiatus that ended last summer when GODSMACK joined the Crüe Fest 2 tour.
Sully Erna told The Pulse of Radio that following their hiatus, GODSMACK intends to keep working straight through the next decade. "We grinded pretty hard for 10 years and we took a strict year off," he said. "I mean literally, when we pulled the plug on the tour, we said, don't call me, I'll call you. And then, you know, the following year, we started writing the new record. So we decided that since we pretty much have had two years off, we are now gonna get back into it for the next 10 years again and really grind hard."
A single called "Crying Like A Bitch" will head to rock radio later this month.
Other new songs include "War & Peace", "Devil's Swing" and "Whiskey Hangover", which the band issued as a single last summer.
A release date has yet to be announced for "The Oracle".

KEEP OF KALESSIN\'s EUROVISION SONG CONTEST Dream Comes To An End
 Norwegian extreme metal veterans KEEP OF KALESSIN took third place in the grand final of the national Eurovision Song Contest called "Melodi Grand Prix" which was held this past Saturday (February 6) at the Spektrum in Oslo.
Commented the band: "A quarter of a milllion votes is a powerful vote of confindence for us, our fans and metal music.
"We wish to thank all of those who voted for us. We are very grateful.
"To perform in the finals in Oslo Spektrum is one of our career highlights.
"The competition has been a very good experience for us. We have made a lot of new friends. We have even got our own post stamp!!
"To round things up we would like to congratulate Didrik Solli-Tangen, and wish him the best of luck in the international final."

DARKTHRONE: More New Album Details Revealed
 Norway's DARKTHRONE will welcome a new decade with a new album, to be released on Peaceville Records. "Circle The Wagons", a creative feast of metal and punk, will initially be released on vinyl on March 8 through the Peaceville Records webstore as an exclusive taster for the legions of metal supporters out there who still care about great music delivered the classic way. The vinyl will also include a link to download a digital version of the album, which will be available when the regular and special edition CD versions of the album are released on April 6.
The vinyl edition can be pre-ordered now at this location. The packaging and contents of the special edition CD will be announced shortly, and will be available to pre-order from the "Circle The Wagons" mini-site, which will launch on February 12.
"Circle the Wagons" was self-recorded at Necrohell II Studios. Artwork for the album comes once again courtesy of Dennis Dread, notable for his talents on previous DARKTHRONE albums, "F.O.A.D." and 2008's "Dark Thrones and Black Flags".

LABYRINTH To Enter Studio Next Week
 Italian metallers LABYRINTH will enter a studio in Imperia, northern Italy, on February 16 to begin recording their new album, "Return To Heaven Denied Pt. 2", for a late 2010 release. The new CD will mark a reunion of the band's original members Olaf Thorsen (guitar), Andrea Cantarelli (guitar) and Roberto Tiranti (vocals) and will be the musical follow-up to LABYRINTH's 1998 breakthrough effort, "Return To Heaven Denied".

GEORGE LYNCH Writing Material For New SOULS OF WE Album
 SOULS OF WE — the band featuring legendary guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB) and vocalist London Legrand (SOULS OF WE, BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION) — has commenced the songwriting sessions for the group's second album. Lynch writes on his Twitter profile, "Second day of writing for new SOULS OF WE record [on Monday, February 7]. In studio later this month, guerilla style, then we hit the road March 5th."

PAIN To Release Live Album
 Swedish metallers PAIN will release a new live CD that was recorded on March 23-24, 2009 at the Zenith in Paris, France during the band's European tour with NIGHTWISH.
In other news, PAIN's most recent studio album, "Cynic Paradise", will be made available in the U.S. with a bonus CD including the Paris live recordings. The exact release date will be announced later this month.

TOOL Guitarist Contemplating Collaboration With KING CRIMSON Founder
 According to The Pulse of Radio, TOOL guitarist Adam Jones met with KING CRIMSON founder and guitar player Robert Fripp last month in London to discuss reactivating a collaborative album the pair began working on several years ago. Fripp revealed the news about the meeting in a post at his online diary, writing, "A fabbo lunch with Adam covering a wide range of common interests & experiencing, among which: the possibilities of continuing our album, begun in Los Angeles some 5-6 years ago; and go out speaking together."
The possibility of Jones and Fripp working together leads to the question of what — if anything — is going on with TOOL itself. Frontman Maynard James Keenan is busy with his own side project, PUSCIFER, and also has a documentary about his vineyards coming out later this month. There has been little word on a follow-up to TOOL's last effort, 2006's "10,000 Days".
Keenan admitted in a recent interview that he gets restless at tool's slower pace of doing things. "I can't sit still, so when those guys hesitate, it takes us so long to do stuff, and it's like a snake eating its own tail situation, 'cause then I get distracted and I go off and do a thing, and then I get blamed for not being around to do the (TOOL) thing," he said. "But nothing was getting done when I was standing there, so I got bored and left. It's just an endless cycle."
PUSCIFER will begin its first full-length East Coast tour on March 2 in Atlanta, with dates booked through early April.

O.M.T. (OUR MALEVOLENT TYRANNY) - New Album Out Now; Details Available
 UK metallers O.M.T. (OUR MALEVOLENT TYRANNY) have released their debut album, Anamantium, worldwide through the Rising Records label. The album was originally scheduled for a European release in late 2009, but was delayed due to the collapse of distributors SPV. A new distribution agreement for the world (excluding Japan) with Plastic Head Distribution (PHD) has enabled the CD to become available in all major territories around the globe.
Anamantium was recorded, mixed and mastered by Mark Daghorn (CRADLE OF FILTH, MARILLION) at New Rising Recording Studios in the UK.

FM - \"Metropolis\" Audio Samples online!
 Englands erfolgreichte Melodic Rock-Band kehrt mit dem neuen Album "Metropolis" nach 14 Jahren in die Szene zurück, und das im klassischen FM-Stil! Am 27.10.2007 spielte der Fünfer im Rahmen des Firefests sein erstes Konzert seit 1995.
Phase 2 der Karriere der Gruppe hatte begonnen; allerdings musste sie leider den Ausstieg Andy Barnetts verkraften. Jim Kirkpatrick debütierte im März 2009 bei einem Konzert in Wigan’s Winstanley College und die neue CD "Metropolis", welche am 26.03.2009 in die Läden kommt, wurde fertiggestellt.
