Ex-JUDAS PRIEST Singer TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS Performs 'You've Got Another Thing Coming' With NIGHT RANGER (Video)
Former JUDAS PRIEST singer Tim "Ripper" Owens joined NIGHT RANGER on stage last night (Saturday, December 7) at MGM Northfield Park in Northfield, Ohio to perform the classic PRIEST song "You've Got Another Thing Coming". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
Earlier today, Owens took to his Twitter to write: "Really cool night last night, sat in with NIGHT RANGER and sang you've got another thing comin' Great seeing my buddy Keri and the guys, class acts!!! Leilani and I had a blast"
Owens and NIGHT RANGER guitarist Keri Kelli are bandmates in A NEW REVENGE, which also features legendary bassist Rudy Sarzo (OZZY OSBOURNE, WHITESNAKE, QUIET RIOT) and drummer James Kottak (SCORPIONS, KINGDOM COME).
Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 after being discovered when the band's drummer was given a videotape of him performing with the PRIEST cover band BRITISH STEEL. JUDAS PRIEST at the time was seeking a replacement for Rob Halford, who has since rejoined the band.
The Ohio-based singer created two studio albums with the British heavy metal legends — 1997's "Jugulator" and 2001's "Demolition" — before the band reunited with Halford.
Owens told Ultimate Guitar that he wasn't particularly surprised to see PRIEST reconnecting with Rob.
"Well, the band needed Rob Halford, really," he said. "I joined JUDAS PRIEST in a horrible time in heavy metal — the mid-'90s. It wasn't very good. It started taking up in 2000, but it was too late for us.
"I've always said it this way: JUDAS PRIEST needed Rob Halford back and Rob needed to come back," he continued. "He needed JUDAS PRIEST. I mean, he can have a very successful solo career, he still co do his HALFORD thing. But money's doubled with JUDAS PRIEST and Rob Halford. So they needed each other.
"I think we could have continued on, I think we could have been successful and did it. But, really, I think it was a smart decision for everybody. But I think that is it. Bands need the original lineup and the original singers to come back together and do that.
"I mean, JUDAS PRIEST — if they got [original guitarist] K.K. [Downing] back... I love Richie [Faulkner, Downing's replacement], I wouldn't ever want Richie to go anywhere, but if they had that lineup back and they did a big tour, it probably would fetch more money as well."
Really cool night last night, sat in with Night Ranger and sang you’ve got another thing comin’ Great seeing my buddy Keri and the guys, class acts!!! Leilani and I had a blast ? https://t.co/N1n2dbwu4m

SCORPIONS Flashback - "Another Piece Of Meat" Live At Reading Festival, 1979 (Video)
Rare video footage has surfaced of Scorpions performing "Another Piece Of Meat" live at Reading Festival on August 25, 1979. Watch below:
Scorpions guitarist Matthias Jabs was recently a guest on New Zealand’s The Metal Bar, and confirmed that the band is working on a new album, and are planning a July 2020 residency in Las Vegas.
Jabs says, "We've been writing some material before we went on tour, before we went on tour this summer. It's always difficult to come up with stuff on tour. You get the inspiration, but to actually put it down, that's a different story, when you travel every day. So we have songs, about ten, I guess, but we will have to do some more writing once this tour is over, and then prepare for the rehearsals and recordings right after our shows in New Zealand and a couple in Asia. So we will be back in early March. And we know that we work with the producer Greg Fidelman, who is known for doing Metallica and Slipknot and others, and he's a great guy. And he came to visit in our studio in Hannover, Germany already. So the plan is to record until the first of July, where we have a residency in Las Vegas for a whole month. And then, during that time, we can either do the final touch-ups or mix. And then the album should come out in the fall of 2020. And then, of course, we go on the road again."
Get ready for the biggest hard rock tour of 2020. Scorpions and Whitesnake are coming for their first ever double headline tour of Australia and New Zealand. Feel the bite of Whitesnake and the sting of the Scorpions.
"We’re gonna rock you like a hurricane,“ promises Scorpions vocalist, Klaus Meine.
Dates:
February
19 - Rod Laver Arena - Melbourne, Australia
22 - Qudos Bank Arena - Sydney, Australia
24 - Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, Australia
27 - Spark Arena - Auckland, New Zealand

THE LOCAL BAND, the Finnish covers act featuring Alexi Laiho (CHILDREN OF BODOM), Jussi 69 (THE 69 EYES), Olli Herman (RECKLESS LOVE) and Archie Kuosmanen (SANTA CRUZ), performed on November 29 at the Circus in Helsinki, Finland. Fan-filmed video footage of the entire concert can be seen below.
Featured songs:
0:00:24 Bark At The Moon (OZZY OSBOURNE)
0:05:13 It's So Easy (GUNS N' ROSES)
0:09:07 Talk Dirty To Me (POISON)
0:13:06 Sunglasses At Night (COREY HART)
0:18:47 Spark In The Dark (ALICE COOPER)
0:23:15 Yankee Rose (DAVID LEE ROTH)
0:28:50 Looks That Kill (MÖTLEY CRÜE)
0:34:35 Piece Of Me (SKID ROW)
0:38:37 Untouched (THE VERONICAS)
0:43:35 Out Of The Darkness (LITTLE STEVEN)
0:48:29 Fallen Angel (POISON)
0:53:30 Hey Stoopid (ALICE COOPER)
0:58:20 Wild Child (W.A.S.P.)
1:05:01 Nightrain (GUNS N' ROSES)
1:10:25 Every Rose Has Its Thorn (POISON)
1:15:22 Panama (VAN HALEN)
THE LOCAL BAND made its live debut in December 2013 and has been playing sporadic shows ever since.
It was a warm dark night before Christmas in Los Angeles in 2013. Jussi 69 and Alexi Laiho met in Hollywood, had a couple of drinks and decided to put together a covers band that would perform songs from POISON, MÖTLEY CRÜE and others classic acts of the 1980s. They shook hands and swore that they really were going to make this happen. The key word and the whole idea behind THE LOCAL BAND would be to have fun. No stress, no pressure, and definitely no business plans.
Right after Jussi and Alexi decided to do this, it was obvious they would need a charismatic singer, one who could handle all the classic hard rock super hits, from "Jump" to "Girls, Girls, Girls", among all their other favorites. Jussi decided to send a message to RECKLESS LOVE's Olli Herman.
"Naturally, I was immediately excited and kept saying: 'Yes — HELLYEAH!!!' over and over again while listening to Jussi talk me through the idea," says Olli. "Nothing could've kept me from taking part after I heard we would only perform killer songs from all the greatest '80s hair metal bands. I couldn't believe it. All my favorites!! I was ecstatic."
To complete the lineup, they got Archie Cruz from SANTA CRUZ to play bass. Now this crazy crew was ready to rock!
Says Archie: "When I got the call from Jussi, my jaw basically hit the floor. I had been watching these guys, these huge rock stars since I was a kid, and never in a million years thought I'd be in the same band with them when I was practising BODOM riffs in my bedroom, or watching a 69 EYES show as a kid. The fact that we're playing pretty much all of my favorite songs makes it even cooler. Being a part of THE LOCAL BAND is a dream come true for me and it's been one of the coolest things in my life to be a part of this."
THE LOCAL BAND was supposed to last for one night only, for a single show at the legendary Tavastia club in Helsinki, with just one interview, no rehearsals and half a soundcheck. But the universe had some other plans for these rock gods, and the mighty quartet decided to spread its good vibes around the world: their "Locals Only - Dark Edition" debut EP, full of all-time classics, was released in December 2015.
If you ask Jussi, the idea of recording an EP was written in the stars.
Jussi: "Some weeks after our first show, I walked into a bar in New York and they were playing 'Shout At The Devil' by MÖTLEY CRÜE — which was our opening song at the Tavastia show — followed by 'Sunglasses At Night' by Corey Hart. I saw this as a sign, and called Alexi to say that we can't leave this cool thing here. We have to do this, we need to record a single, and 'At Night' is the most perfect song for us to cover. Alexi agreed immediately. We didn't want to cover the most obvious songs that every other cover band plays, as those songs are perfect the way those bands originally recorded them. We wanted to surprise people with unexpected, twisted songs. Suddenly recording just one song expanded into an EP. And it's a perverse, totally unexpected collection of songs that me and Alexi came up with. Those are some of our favorites that pretty much nobody knows."
The EP was recorded in four days, and THE LOCAL BAND is very proud of the result.
"It's a killer, mind-blowing party music EP which is going to blow people's minds," said Jussi. "Oh, and the key word, the reason why we did this, even though every one of us is busier than ever with our own bands... We had so much fun doing it, a fucking blast! I know that can be heard from the end result."
THE LOCAL BAND is:
Olli Herman - Vocals
Alexi Laiho - Bass
Samy Elbanna - Guitar
Jussi 69 - Drums
Hohottava Hujoppi - Keyboards | +1

TESTAMENT Joined By MEGADETH's DIRK VERBEUREN For KNOTFEST COLOMBIA Performance (Video)
TESTAMENT was joined by MEGADETH drummer Dirk Verbeuren for its performance Friday night (December 6) at Knotfest Colombia in Bogotá. Dirk was filling in for regular TESTAMENT drummer Gene Hoglan, who couldn't make the gig for reasons that have not been disclosed.
A short time after the concert, Dirk took to his Instagram to share a few photos of the performance and included the following message: "Killer show tonight at @knotfestco with the mighty @testamentofficial! It was truly an honor to fill in for @therealgenehoglan whose masterful beats and fills have inspired me for 30+ years! And also to finally play in person with my longtime friend and bass wizard extraordinaire @sdglowend- as well as Chuck, Eric and Alex- all total masters at their craft!"
The 44-year-old Belgian-born-and-now-Los-Angeles-based Verbeuren had been playing with SOILWORK for more than a decade before being recommended for the MEGADETH gig by LAMB OF GOD's Chris Adler, who called Dirk "probably [one of the] top three drummers in the world."
In interview with the KATT Rock 100.5 FM radio station, MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine described Dirk as "is one of the most pleasant, easy-to-get-along-with guys I've ever met in my life. I'll walk up to him and he'll smile and lean forward and pat me on the back," he said. "He goes [adopts thin accent], 'How's it going, buddy?' I could say, 'Oh, man…'… anything. 'Oh, okay, buddy.' [He] smiles and pats me, 'cause he's just a happy guy. I've never, ever, ever seen him not smile."

Sweden's blackened death/thrash sensation Septekh have just released a new music video for their song "Treasures". Taken from their latest album Pilgrim (Mighty Music, 2018), the track has been translated into moving pictures under the careful eye of director Richard Jarnhed, already guilty for the band's two former demented videos, "Burn It To The Ground" and "Superheated Liquid Iron Core".
Formed in 2008 and with 2 EPs, 2 LPs plus a substantial list of gigs under their belt, Septekh is constantly at work refining its art. Their last album "Pilgrim" released worldwide on August 24th, 2018.

KEN SUSI Says UNEARTH Is One Of Only Metalcore Bands Who Have Stuck To Their Roots
The metalcore boom of the early-to-mid-2000s signaled a changing of the guard in metal that pushed out nu-metal and introduced an era of Gothenburg melodic death metal-inspired riffing and hardcore "breakdowns." Ground zero for the scene was Massachusetts, with the likes of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, SHADOWS FALL and UNEARTH each generating significant airtime on the rebooted "Headbanger's Ball" on MTV2 as well as prime summer festival touring extravaganzas like Ozzfest. However, as with most styles that become popular, a flood of second-rate imitators and oversaturation would water down the scene, and, by the end of the decade, metalcore was now considered outdated in favor of another brand of "core," deathcore.
In a recent interview with Finland's Kaaos TV, UNEARTH guitarist Ken Susi delved into the origins of Massachusetts metalcore and why UNEARTH has refused to abandon the style they helped popularize.
"Bands like KILLSWITCH ENGAGE were neighbors of ours but they didn't start becoming a band until the early 2000s," he said (see video below). "We were a band in 1998, but we were friends with them. There was a lot of really good talent around that area, and I mention KILLSWITCH ENGAGE especially — they lived on the west side of Massachusetts and we lived on the east, so we always played shows together. There were a lot of straight-edge bands like EARTH CRISIS and those kinds of bands, and that's when the Deathwish and Hydrahead [record label] stuff was really happening. To be honest with you, there were bands like CAVE IN that were really cool, but UNEARTH, basically, we pulled our inspiration because we would play with bands like SHADOWS FALL, which was a very metal band, then on the same weekend, we'd play with a band like HATEBREED, so we needed our setlist to be heavy and also melodic. Buzz [McGrath, guitar] and I really were big fans of IRON MAIDEN and we were really big fans of New York hardcore and stuff like that, and we were definitely into shred guitar players like Paul Gilbert and Yngwie Malmsteen so we kind of fused all three of those together and made our own sound. I think if you look back at the 2000s and early 1998 when we put out our demo, I think we don't really sound like anybody else. We did our own things. We were doing sweep arpeggios over breakdowns. I don't think too many people were doing that, if anybody."
Conversation then shifted to the inactive status of SHADOWS FALL, who was one of the few New Wave Of American Heavy Metal bands to sign a major label contract, as well as why UNEARTH has stuck to its core sound when so many of their peers have either broken up or abandoned it altogether.
"When the fans stop coming to shows, that's when bands decide to give it up," he said. "I'm not saying it's just them [SHADOWS FALL]. Metalcore in general, there's a huge surge for that, and then there's a million bands copying all the forefathers and some of them got big and remained big. Some of them claim to be metalcore for a while and now they're different. We've stuck to our roots. We're one of the only bands that have, and there's other bands who have been copying our sound for years who may be bigger. It's okay; it goes with the territory."
UNEARTH's latest studio album, "Extinction(s)", was released last November via Century Media. The band worked with Will Putney (EVERY TIME I DIE, BODY COUNT, GOJIRA, THY ART IS MURDER, SILENT PLANET) at Graphic Nature Studios. Additionally, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's Adam Dutkiewicz recorded drums for the effort.

DARK FORTRESS To Release Spectres From The Old World Album In February; Artwork, Tracklisting Revealed
Venerated black metal specialists, Dark Fortress, return with a new album, Spectres From The Old World. After a six-year gap, Germany’s darkest sons continue where Venereal Dawn (2014) left off conceptually - the birth-death lifecycle of the universe as told by spacetime - but are expanding Dark Fortress’ musical horizons by descending faster and with spiteful intent into the cosmic abyss. Indeed, Spectres From The Old World is more direct, more aggressive than its predecessors.
At no time in Dark Fortress’ history have they reached so far out into the darkness, only to find the domine of astronomy non-existent, the end merely an end. SUZI QUATRO Releases New Single "Heart On The Line"; Audio
The "Queen of Rock N' Roll", Suzi Quatro, has released her new single, "Heart On The Line". The song is the bonus track of the vinyl version of her current studio album, No Control.
Suzi Quatro says about the new song: “I wrote and produced this song especially for the new album, No Control. It was originally an unplugged cut just on the vinyl. Then, how these things go... the public took over at concerts... the song went down a storm at the end of the show, and it was decided by all concerned to re-record ...which I did, taking it from unplugged to plugged and back again, it is now an emotional epic. In fact, it is MY HEART ON THE LINE.”
You can listen to the song below:
No Control was released in March through SPV/Steamhammer as CD DigiPak, 2LP Gatefold, download and stream. Get it here.

YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS Release “Elephant’s Dance” Single And Lyric Video
Batten down the hatches! The Swedish pirate crew strikes again with the second single from their upcoming album, Hostis Humani Generis - and this time, it’s either sail or die! Accompanied by a (quite literally) bloody atmospheric lyric video, “Elephants’ Dance” depicts struggles of the free-spirited sailors, trapped between their brutal independence and the authorities, imprisoning them in the endless maze of laws and decrees.
Led through a blood-stained map, the viewer, like the pirates themselves, faces the same challenges that await the crew in “Elephants’ Dance”. As death threatens them from both sides of this ongoing conflict, the wild and free “children of the sea” choose the side people of Nassau, their long-time safe haven on Bahamas, over the power of the Crown. Throwing all the rules overboard and breaking free from steady land, Ye Banished Privateers find their way in the storm, setting course for the next adventure.
Crude, unmistakably folky, and honest to the bone - “Elephants’ Dance” is not only a worthy representative of the upcoming album, but the next pirate anthem of the group itself!
We are born of the salt, we are children of the sea
We don’t bend our knees to no king or country
Ye Banished Privateers on “Elephants’ Dance”: “According to an old African saying, when the elephants dance - it’s the grass that gets trampled.
British sailors bled for Queen Anne during the war of the Spanish Succession, was dismissed by King George after the treaty of Utrecht, only to be drafted as cannon fodder again during the War of the Quadruple Alliance.
"With "Elephants' Dance" we tell the story of those sailors who had enough and went on the account in the self-proclaimed pirate colony of Nassau. There, Governor Woodes Rogers landed in 1718 with an offer and an ultimatum: Lay down your arms and become a law obiding British citizen again, and all your crimes will be pardoned. Refuse, and you shall be hunted down and stand trial for piracy.”
Watch the new lyric video:
The savage beast from the north, Ye Banished Privateers, returns with their enthralling fourth album, Hostis Humani Generis, out February 7, 2020 via Napalm Records. The new full-length is the most authentic of pirate manifests – with more than enough audacious atmosphere, sing-along hymns, folk tunes and foul rambling to secure the band’s unique position in the genre. These Swedish marauders of the sea take you through the ups and downs of pirate life!
Pre-order here.
Ye Banished Privateers on Hostis Humani Generis: “It is with great pride that we present to you our fourth full-length album - Hostis Humani Generis! Over the course of 13 songs (well, 15 if you get the deluxe box) we tell the immersive story of a delinquent pirate crew, the downfall of the pirate republic of Nassau, and the end of the Golden Age of Piracy. We are immensely happy that the time has finally come to share this with you all, and we really hope you like it as much as we do!”

TEMPERANCE Release New Single "Lost In The Christmas Dream"; Static Video Streaming
Temperance presents their festive new single, “Lost In The Christmas Dream”, a beautiful symphonic metal piece that will tug on your heartstrings. The new single is an exclusive bonus track (digital only!) from the band's forthcoming album, Viridian, out January 24 via Napalm Records.
Christmas has become a commercial affair nowadays, with people often focusing more on the worth of their presents rather than the actual roots of Christmas: love, thoughtfulness and compassion. Temperance puts a beautiful metaphorical spin on that matter and will make you feel wistful, melting your frozen winter heart.
Marco Pastorino, singer and guitarist, comments: “We always wanted to surprise our fans and write a song about Christmas. Can you imagine the typical Christmas mood paired with an anthem in classic Temperance fashion? We think that not a lot of metal bands did such thing and we hope that 'Lost In The Christmas Dream' brings a great amount of positive energy and joy to everyone. Merry Xmas!”

THE USED Releases First New Song In Over Two Years, 'Blow Me'
THE USED has surprised fans with a brand new single today. "Blow Me (Feat. Jason Aalon Butler)" is frenetic and explosive while showcasing the undeniable vocals of frontman Bert McCracken.
"THE USED are proud to present our new song 'Blow Me' featuring Jason Aalon Butler from FEVER 333," says McCracken about the new single. "Whether metaphorically signifying the power of words in general, or magnifying concern for the situation of societal gun violence, we urge the fans of our music to find individual and personal meaning in all of our songs. Thank you, and please enjoy!"
FEVER 333 supported THE USED in 2018, but this is the first time members of the two groups have recorded together.
"If I'm being honest, I've been a fan of this band since the first single they put on an Atticus Clothing comp CD back in 2002. I heard 'Box Full Of Sharp Objects' and thought, 'This is it. This is the next step in heavier music with melodic sensibility,'" states Butler about discovering THE USED. "I loved it. I studied it. Then I met the man that produced it, John Feldmann. Loved him. Studied him. Then a couple months ago I was asked by the band and John to sing on a track from the new album. They played me some songs and, no bullshit, I got that feeling I felt when I first heard 'Box Full' on that comp 17 years ago. For any and all THE USED fans — they're back again. In a BIG fucking way."
Today's release is the first new piece of music from THE USED in over two years and marks the return of John Feldmann to their production team. THE USED signed to Feldmann's record label Big Noise earlier this year and is in the studio finishing its eighth full-length album.
"I couldn't be more honored or grateful to have one of my favorite bands of all time at my record label! They are one of the most influential bands of the last 20 years and we are making a career-defining album at the minute," shares Feldmann. "They are one of the best live bands I've ever seen and Bert is quite possibly the best singer I've ever worked with. This has been a dream of mine since I met them in 2001."
Feldmann signed THE USED to Reprise Records in January 2002, one short year after the band formed in Orem, Utah. He also produced some of the band's most monumental albums, including their self-titled debut, "Maybe Memories", "In Love And Death", "Lies For The Liars", "Vulnerable" and "Imaginary Enemy". The upcoming album will mark their first release on Big Noise.
THE USED is Bert McCracken (vocals), Jeph Howard (bass), Dan Whitesides (drums) and Joey Bradford (guitar).

FEVER 333 Shares New Song 'Vandals'
Grammy Award-nominated activists FEVER 333 have shared "Vandals", a powerful new standalone single. Available now on all streaming platforms, "Vandals" was originally recorded during sessions for FEVER 333's acclaimed debut LP, "Strength In Numb333rs".
FEVER 333 recently wrapped up a run of European "D333monstrations", which extended a truly epic year of touring for the group. A vast majority of the headline events sold out, without any opening acts. FEVER 333 has dominated stages all over the world, with festival performances at Lollapalooza South America, AfroPunk, Reading, Download UK, Download AU, Park Live Moscow and Japan's Fuji Rock Festival.
Earlier this year, FEVER 333 released the official music video for "Animal", which is streaming now on the band's YouTube channel. Animated and edited by pix3lface, the video pairs footage from FEVER 333's recent "D333monstrations" with strobing illustrations from the artist. "Animal" is featured on "Strength In Numb333rs", available now for streaming and download. $3.33 from the sale of each album bundle will be donated to the band's own Walking In My Shoes Foundation. Created by FEVER 333 vocalist Jason Aalon Butler, the Walking In My Shoes Foundation benefits organizations that generate empathy, understanding, and change within the communities they serve, including Movement Voter Project – Black Voter Fund, United For A Fair Economy, and Mijente Support Committee.
Explicitly devoted to a revolutionary cause and delivering aggressive advocacy through a molotov cocktail of punk, hip-hop, and thrash, FEVER 333's activism serves as the banner for the band's focus on community, charity, and change. Comprised of Butler, drummer Aric Improta, and guitarist Stephen Harrison, FEVER 333 arrived in 2018 with its politically charged debut EP, "Made An America", highlighted by the smash title track as well as the top 10 Rock radio favorite "Walking In My Shoes". "Strength In Numb333rs" followed in January 2019, featuring such rock radio hits as "Burn It" and "One Of Us", both joined by powerful companion videos streaming now via FEVER 333's official YouTube channel. Directed by Butler with filmmaker DJay Brawner, "One Of Us" sees the band demonstrating alongside fans holding personalized protest signs on the streets of downtown Los Angeles as they march towards City Hall. | +2

LORNA SHORE Release Official Music Video For Title Track Of Upcoming Immortal Album
Lorna Shore’s forthcoming album, Immortal, which is due for a worldwide release on January 31, is nothing short of a shock of blackened, symphonic ambitions and epic intents. The band have released a mini-movie for the title track, which was directed by Joey Durango.
The band comments: “’Immortal’ is an accurate representation of where the band has matured to. It was the last song we wrote for the album and ended up being the most challenging song to write. It truly shows the bands maturity and willingness to grow and expand outside our comfort zones. Whatever we normally we would do on a song we strayed away from and ideas we always wanted to do we leaned into. This song is an entire culmination of who we are and where the band is headed.”
Formed in 2010, Lorna Shore were quick to surpass “local band” expectations with 2012’s Bone Kingdom EP and it’s follow-up, 2013’s Malificium EP, which peaked at #3 on the iTunes Metal charts. Through each release, Lorna Shore continues to prove themselves to be an increasingly formidable force and a ferocious live proposition. 2017’s sophomore LP, Flesh Coffin showed a band that had moved beyond mere “deathcore” trappings and had evolved into a modern metal band, as uncompromising and accomplished as any of their contemporaries or influences.
“We became the band we wanted to be, rather than just the product of our early influences,” says guitarist Adam De Micco. “Immortal is the latest chapter of that story of us as a band, as players and as people.”
Armed with new vocalist C.J. McCreery (ex-Signs Of The Swarm), Lorna Shore has made a record that stands apart from their earlier works. The earliest hints of that have come with the release of album tracks, “This Is Hell” and “Darkest Spawn”, twin deathly salvos released from Lorna Shore’s early album sessions with producer Josh Schroeder (Battlecross, King 810, For Today) at Random Awesome Studios in Midland, MI.
Immortal is the beginning of another chapter for Lorna Shore. The album will be available in the following formats: CD Jewelcase, LP+CD, Digital Album.
The following vinyl colours will be available apart from black vinyl:
- 200x clear via CM Distro
- 200x mint green via Impericon
- 200x dark green via EMP
* in North America the vinyl edition will be a neon yellow LP

“This Is Hell“
“Hollow Sentence“

MARTY FRIEDMAN Talks Working With CACOPHANY Bandmate JASON BECKER - "Whenever He Calls, I'll Do Whatever He Wants Me To Do"
Guitarist Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth) recently guested on the Guitar Speak Podcast. During the interview he discussed his solo career (with 15 albums and countless tours under his own name), lessons learned after 10 years with Megadeth, how moving to Japan in the early 2000s made an incredible impact on his career, composition craft and continually growing as a musician, his partnership with guitarist Jason Becker, including playing on Jason's latest album Triumphant Hearts.
On the Cacophany days
Marty: "Jason really grew big time after all that, musically. He grew so fast. I'd like to think that I grew a little bit in time taking baby steps and evolving, but he grew by leaps and bounds in a scary fast way, and he started to really become just a brilliant composer."
On playing on Becker's new Triumphant Hearts album
Marty: "Whenever he calls, I'll just do whatever he wants me to do. He had me play a couple of songs on this album, and on the title track of that, 'Triumphant Hearts', he gave me a great melody to play, so I was so excited. I got to play the main theme towards the end of the song when it comes to, it's the most exciting theme modulation and climax, so he gave me a good, solid bite, allowing me to play that part of the song."
Check out the interview here.

STONE SOUR's JOSH RAND Doesn't Understand All The Hate For GRETA VAN FLEET
STONE SOUR guitarist Josh Rand has defended GRETA VAN FLEET over accusations that the Michigan rockers have ripped off LED ZEPPELIN.
Despite the fact that GRETA VAN FLEET has managed to sell out shows all over the world, the four-piece has been criticized for channeling a sound uncannily similar to LED ZEPPELIN, with some music fans slamming singer Josh Kiszka for allegedly copy-and-pasting Robert Plant's vocal style.
During a recent interview with Metal Insider, Rand offered his opinion of the young act.
"To me, I feel this love/hate for GRETA VAN FLEET in the industry, and I don't understand it," he said. "I mean, I get they might have worn their influence a little heavy on their sleeve, but they're also a very, very young band. I'm kind of curious to see where they go in the future as they tour, record, and, you know, kind of get into the groove. It's really difficult. Some bands can release an 'Appetite For Destruction'," referring to GUNS N' ROSES' classic debut album. "That usually doesn't happen, but it does. A lot of bands, it takes a couple of years for them to get their footing in the band. And just their groove, to become whoever they're going to become for the rest of their career. I feel like with them, the sky's the limit. I'm just curious to see where they take it because they're great players, he's a phenomenal singer. But they need to start working on their own voice moving forward, and I think they're capable of doing that."
GRETA VAN FLEET's debut album, "Anthem Of The Peaceful Army", landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart in July 2018 despite earning a lukewarm 53/100 score on review curation site Metacritic.
Last December, GRETA VAN FLEET scored four Grammy Award nominations, one for each major rock category — "Best Rock Album", "Best Rock Song", "Best Rock Performance" — and a "Best New Artist" nod. They went on to win for "Best Rock Album" for their sophomore EP, "From The Fires".

DEAD CROSS Feat. MIKE PATTON, DAVE LOMBARDO: Second Album In The Works
DEAD CROSS, the Southern California hardcore outfit featuring Dave Lombardo (SLAYER, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, MISFITS), Mike Patton (FAITH NO MORE, TOMAHAWK), Justin Pearson (THE LOCUST, RETOX) and Michael Crain (RETOX, FESTIVAL OF DEAD DEER), has entered the studio to begin recording its second album. Helming the disc once again is producer Ross Robinson (KORN, SLIPKNOT, LIMP BIZKIT), who previously worked on DEAD CROSS's 2017 self-titled debut LP.
DEAD CROSS broke the news of the latest recording sessions in a tweet on Wednesday (December 4). The band wrote: "We are happy to announce that tracking for Dead Cross LP #2 has now begun."
DEAD CROSS's upcoming effort will be the group's first since Crain announced he was cancer-free after undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for squamous cell carcinoma, the second most common form of skin cancer. He wrote in a recent social media post: "I can't express enough gratitude to my friends, family, supports and fans! Now that all the chemo and radiation has left my body I'm slowly starting to feel alive again."
Patton told Rolling Stone that he got involved with DEAD CROSS after reaching out to Lombardo to see if he could release the band's album on Ipecac. After getting a text from the drummer asking him to join the group, "my jaw dropped," the singer said. "I was like, 'Who, me? Hmm …' And I think it took like all of 30 seconds, but in a sarcastic way, I'm like, 'Yeah, of course. I can do this. Are you sure you want me?' So I kind of second-guessed him a little bit. And he said, 'Man, you'd be our dream vocalist.' And then it was just a matter of logistics. I decided to record it here in my basement, which is fitting. It shouldn't sound too polished."
Regarding DEAD CROSS's musical direction, Patton said: "To me, it is a traditional hardcore record. It is very pointed, direct and visceral. Like, I wasn't going to play keyboards, add samples or any kind of orchestration. It was like, 'Yo, just go for it.' In some ways, it reminded me of stuff that we had collectively all grown up with and loved when we were like teenagers — bands like the ACCÜSED, DEEP WOUND or SIEGE, stuff that was just brutal, uncompromising and right to the point. I was listening to all those bands again before this came to be, so it was already back infused in my blood. And now I got a chance to do a pencil-in-your-eye record."

GREEN CARNATION Re-Sign To Season of Mist; First Album In 14 Years Due In First Half Of 2020
After almost 10 years of total silence, Norwegian prog/avantgarde metal act, Green Carnation, announced their comeback to the international metal scene for the 15th anniversary of their cult classic, Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness, in 2016. After a successful comeback year with festival appearances and special shows both in Europe and North America, the Norwegians are now preparing to release their first album in 14 years.
Green Carnation from Kristiansand, Norway, was founded as early as 1990. After founding member Tchort joined legends-to-be Emperor and continued in Satyricon and Einherjer, the band was laid to rest until their debut album, A Journey To The End Of The Night, came out in 2000. Following a period with lineup changes, 2001 marked the release of the bands epic Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness.
With their albums A Blessing In Disguise (2003) and The Quiet Offspring (2005), Green Carnation shifted towards a more rock orientated style, before they surprised everyone with the stripped-down record Acoustic Verses in 2006. What followed in the same year is perhaps one of the most spectacular DVD recordings metal history. The band played a show in the mountains, under a 30-meter-high dam. Only a year later, Green Carnation disbanded.
After the successful return in 2016, the band continued to play shows in 2017 and 2018. In September 2019, the progressive metal act announced that they were going to record their first album in 14 years, in DUB Studio, with producer Endre Kirkesola (Abbath, In Vain and Solefald), who also produced Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness. The new album is expected to be released in the first half of 2020 via Season of Mist.

DIABULUS IN MUSICA To Release Euphonic Entropy Album In February; "Otoi" Music Video Streaming
Symphonic metal quartet, Diabulus In Musica, has just released the power ballad, “Otoi”, the first single from their forthcoming studio album, Euphonic Entropy. The long-player is to be released via Napalm Records on February 14, and takes the listener on a wild ride through time, emotions and genres. Beautiful classical elements paired with heartwarming symphonic metal melodies, as well as heavy guitar riffs and smashing drums, traverse all throughout their upcoming album.
Diabulus In Musica’s new single stands out due to Zuberoa Aznárez’ extraordinary vocals and keyboarder Gorka Elso’s powerful growls, paired with lyrics written entirely in the Basque language. The video for “Otoi” perfectly mirrors the mystical, grounded feeling the track conveys. Beautiful landscapes, wistful and equally unsettling parts, as well as amazing close-ups of Zuberoa and Gorka complete the overall aesthetic of the video.
Diabulus In Musica on the new single and video: "'Otoi' is a special song to us because it is entirely sung in Basque, our local language, one of the oldest languages in Europe and the only pre-indoeuropean one that is still alive. “Otoi” means ‘prayer’, in this case to the ancient gods of Basque mythology: Urtzi and Amari who represent the sky and its mother, the Earth, respectively. It is a kind of lament around the loss of our cultural identity throughout the time due to different threats. The video was recorded in a 16th century Basque farmhouse which is now a key heritage object of the region.”
Watch the video below.
Euphonic Entropy is Diabulus In Musica’s fifth studio album and their fourth to be released via Napalm Records. The band is back with their heaviest album to date and continue their way to the top, while still retaining their roots.
Diabulus In Musica on Euphonic Entropy: "After three intense years, we’re finally back with probably our heaviest and most convincing album so far. We can’t wait to share the new songs with you all! We think they are fresh, diverse, energetic and a new step in DIM's history. We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our very first album than coming back with our strongest effort.”
Pre-order the album here.
Tracklisting:
"A Lucid Chaos"
"Race To Equilibrium"
"Nuevo Rumbo"
"The Misfit's Swing"
"In Quest Of Sense"
"Otoi"
"Blurred Dreams"
"On The Edge"
"Our Last Gloomy Dance"
"One Step Higher"
"Blind Muse"
"In The Vortex"
"Otoi" video:
Sometimes life itself can be the most beautiful inspiration for an artist. Diabulus In Musica singer Zuberoa Aznárez and her husband, keyboardist Gorka Elso, decided to fill their new album, Euphonic Entropy, with all the wonderful, yet chaotic emotions a new life brings. Diabulus In Musica’s fifth and fully self-produced album mirrors the changes and blossoming beauty in the lives of the two band leaders after the birth of their second child and melts everything into thunderous and highly passionate symphonic metal. The album is bursting with power ballads, beautiful melodies and emotions. Songs like the infectious and ultra-melodic “Otoi” (featuring lyrics in Basque language) bewitch the listener’s senses. The intoxicating “Misfits Swing” and the harmonic, soaring “One Step Higher” ensure a multi-faceted and thrilling adventure!

A NEW TOMORROW Premier "Ignition" Music Video; Universe Album Out Now
Frontiers Music Srl have released of A New Tomorrow's label debut, Universe. Watch a video for the song "Ignition" below, and order the album here.
Formed in London by vocalist/guitarist Alessio Garavello (ex-Powerquest/Arthemis) and bassist Andrea Lonardi, the two were later joined by drummer Tim Hall and guitarist Michael Kew. A New Tomorrow have spent the past few years honing their sound into the potent mix of uplifting, hard-hitting, melodic hard rock that you now hear today.
Harnessing influences from the likes of musical heroes such as Alter Bridge, Foo Fighters, Metallica, and Green Day, the band have been defining their sound during years of shows across the UK, Italy, and elsewhere in Europe. Offering fast and furious riffing coupled with super melodic hook lines, they have an original and cool take on the hard rock style. A New Tomorrow are indeed a sorely needed breath of fresh air in the current scene.
Drummer Tim Hall says, "Several years of amazing times, full of both ups and downs, not just as a band but as great friends, gave us the foundation to write something special for this record. "Universe" became the only title to encompass all our experiences as individuals and as a band, with themes - from fear and doubt to taking back the pursuit of our hopes and dreams - that I think all of us can identify with. The time we took gaining experience as a band, before writing "Universe", has really allowed us to find our own space within the music allowing our own individual influences to come across a lot more than in our previous releases. Expect our heaviest, yet most dynamic range of songs to date! With intricate, interwoven grooves, alongside blankets of melodic guitars and powerful vocals. We feel invigorated playing this music and can't wait to unleash that energy with you live in 2020!"
A New Tomorrow's love for life and go-getter attitude, both on and off stage, complete the picture of one of the hottest bands to come out of the British underground in recent times.
Now, the band gets to share the next chapter in their evolution worldwide through their debut full-length album "Universe". Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
