Asked how the musical direction of BRITISH LION's follow-up effort will be different from "British Lion", Harris told The Metal Voice: "The band has evolved over the last five or six years live — we've played quite a lot of shows in Europe and stuff — so it's become more of a tighter band. I think we've found our direction is naturally evolving, and if anything, I think it's getting heavier than it was, really. It's very melodic. The songs are… I don't know… There's still kind of a UFO, THIN LIZZY type of influence, I think, in a lot of them, [and] there are influences too, but in general, I think we are getting just a little bit harder-edged, really. These days, I suppose there are some bands that make even MAIDEN sound like THE MOODY BLUES — there's some real, real heavy bands out there — so what I think is heavy and what other people think is 'getting heavier' is two [completely different things]. But we feel we're a bit harder-edged than we were. So it is a bit of a slight directional change, possibly. But it's been a natural thing; it's not something we consciously thought, 'Oh, we've gotta go this way.' It's just been the way we're playing our live shows — it's very powerful, much more powerful live than on record, I think. And I think with the second record, we've tried to capture that essence of what we are live more."
BRITISH LION's debut album sold around 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 3 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"British Lion" was released in the U.S. in September 2012 via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). The disc was mixed by Kevin Shirley, whose credits include IRON MAIDEN as well as LED ZEPPELIN, JOURNEY and RUSH.

METALLICA Release "For Whom The Bell Tolls" HQ Performance Video From Warsaw
Metallica have released the new video below, featuring professionally-filmed footage of the band performing "For Whom The Bell Tolls" during their concert at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, Poland on August 21, 2019.
Previously released clips from the Warsaw show can be seen below:
Metallica's next scheduled live performance is on March 28 for the All Within My Hands Helping Hands Concert & Auction at The Masonic in San Francisco, CA. Find the band's live itinerary here.
Forbes' Hugh McIntyre reported earlier this week that Metallica’s 1991 self-titled album (often referred to as The Black Album, due to its stark, black album cover) has now charted on the Billboard 200 for 550 nonconsecutive weeks, or just over 10 and a half years. That total is one of the most impressive in US history, and the band’s biggest success is one of only a handful of titles that have spent that much time on the list.
Metallica is now just the fourth release in American history to hit the 550-week milestone, and it is in some incredible company. Leading the way (and several hundred weeks ahead) is Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon, which is approaching 1,000 frames on the list. In second place among the albums with the most time spent on the ranking is Bob Marley And The Wailers’ Legend, a compilation of their most beloved tunes. In third comes Journey’s Journey's Greatest Hits.

Watch BRING ME THE HORIZON Perform 'Ludens' In Tokyo
British rockers BRING ME THE HORIZON have released a new official live video of their performance of the new single "Ludens" in Tokyo, Japan, where they played as the support act for BABYMETAL.
Speaking to Kerrang! about how "Ludens" came together, singer Oli Sykes explained: "Now we've put six albums out, and we've made such different music over the course of that, we've learned what works and how you can change stuff up. It's really just playing with that and pushing it to its limit. We felt like, after [this year's] 'Amo', the structures of which were mostly very pop-oriented, we wanted to do something a bit more unmethodical, I guess. We weren't thinking that we were going to take bits of everything we've ever done, but we decided that we can do stuff that we might not have done on 'Amo', and just do whatever we wanted, really."
"Ludens" is taken from the "Death Stranding: Timefall (Original Music From The World Of Death Stranding)" soundtrack, featuring original music inspired by the PlayStation 4 (PS4) video game "Death Stranding".
BRING ME THE HORIZON is one of the most electrifying and successful rock bands to emerge from the U.K., selling over four million albums globally to date, playing sold-out shows in over 40 countries, including two sold-out nights at London's O2, plus wowing a traditionally non-rock crowd at Glastonbury Festival in 2016 and 2018 and stealing the show at high-profile festivals across Europe all summer 2018.
BRING ME THE HORIZON — Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Mat Nicholls and keyboardist Jordan Fish — is continuing to tour in support of the critically acclaimed "Amo" album, which NME called "bold, brilliant and boundary-pushing" and which Noisey hailed for "being ahead of their time and evolving a genre."
The album's endless highlights include "Mantra", "Medicine", "Mother Tongue" and the Grimes collaboration "Nihilist Blues", which NME hailed as "the album's centerpiece, a glitching rush of dark '90s Eurodance to soundtrack the blackest of raves. It's an anthem for millennials who feel like there's nowhere to go." | +1 | |

INTRONAUT To Release Fluid Existential Inversions Album In February; "Cubensis" Music Video Streaming
On February 28, Intronaut will release their sixth full-length, Fluid Existential Inversions, via Metal Blade Records - which features some of the most dramatic and epic sounds of their career.
"We pushed ourselves to be bigger and better, musically speaking, and to me that's the essence of progressive music," states guitarist/vocalist Sacha Dunable. "On this album, there are drums played in ways I've never heard before. There are synths used in contexts I've never heard before. Intronaut has the most unique bass player in all of heavy metal as far as I'm concerned, and I even practiced guitar to get myself out of my comfort zone. So I think we progressed and made the best album ever."
For a preview of Fluid Existential Inversions, a video for the first single, "Cubensis", can be viewed below.
The album can be pre-ordered here in the following formats:
- digipak-CD
- opaque evergreen vinyl (US exclusive - limited to 1000 copies)
- blue watercolor vinyl (US exclusive - limited to 500 copies)
- green watercolor vinyl (US exclusive - limited to 500 copies)
- 180g black vinyl (EU exclusive)
- light blue vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 300 copies)
- mint green vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- red / blue marbled vinyl (EU Shop exclusive - limited to 100 copies)
* exclusive bundles with shirts, plus digital options are also available!
It's been a five-year gap since 2015's The Direction Of Last Things, the longest between any two Intronaut records, but with good reason.
"Some of this music was written within a week of the last record being released, and we originally wanted to get into the studio to make this album back in early 2017, but I think the band was kind of burnt out, and I personally was definitely burnt out, and we decided to take a year off before committing to a new album and the touring stuff that comes with it. After a little time off, I kept writing on my own and I realized I love making this music whether we're an active band or not."
A change in the unit's ranks set things back another year, but soon enough, they were back on track. The addition of drummer Alex Rudinger (The Faceless, Whitechapel) to the Intronaut lineup definitely played a key part in how the record came together, Dunable praising his obsessive work ethic and a "dedication to his craft like I've never seen before." With all the players in place, it was a case of getting down to work and creating the ultimate Intronaut album - which features keyboards for the first time in the band's history.
When it came time to record Fluid Existential Inversions, Intronaut once again teamed up with producer Josh Newell and spent a month locked in the studio with him. They invited previous collaborator Ben Sharp - aka Cloudkicker - to be a part of the process, penning one of the main riffs of closer "Sour Everythings" and playing some guitar on both that track and "The Cull". When it came to mixing the record, the band reached out to Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire), resulting in a unique finished product that stands apart from their catalogue.
Fluid Existential Inversions tracklisting:
"Procurement Of The Victuals"
"Cubensis"
"The Cull"
"Contrapasso"
"Speaking Of Orbs"
"Tripolar"
"Check Your Misfortune"
"Pangloss"

Legendary Guitarist FRANK MARINO Slams Paid Meet-And-Greets, Says He Meets With Fans For Free
In a recent interview with The Metal Voice, Frank Marino spoke about the culture of "V.I.P Packages," which seems to be the only way for fans to meet the bands they admire these days. Some of these come at a really inflated price on top of the standard ticket costs and include anything from a signed item, a photo to watching soundchecks or a collectable lanyard.
"I won't do this, but from what I understand, a lot of the guys that I knew, now they're going out and they're selling tickets to meet them, which is ridiculous, because I spent my whole life meeting everybody before and after every show I've ever done — for free," the legendary Canadian guitarist and leader of the band MAHOGANY RUSH said (hear audio below). "You meet people — that's what you do, right? You finished your show, and you go and meet people, like you're a normal guy. But now they're selling this thing. And in the old days, you couldn't meet those guys even if you offered to pay them the money. And I'm thinking, what's the psychology behind that? Guys standing behind a rope line, being let in two at a time and sitting on your lap like you're Santa Claus. I find something screwy about that — that's weird. The agents that we were [using to book the tour] this time even suggested it to me. The agents said, 'And then we can add on the tickets for the meet-and-greet' and all that. And I was, like, 'No. What are you — nuts? I'm not gonna do that. That's really hokey.' 'Well, everybody's doing it. Everybody's doing it.' 'Yeah, but I'm not doing it.'"
He continued: "If somebody gives you a guest pass — some people do; they give it to you. 'Hey, here's a guest pass. Come back and meet Frank.' And they come back and meet [us]. But [they don't have] to pay for it. That's ridiculous. Listen, I meet people anyway — I always did; I always do. Anyone that knows me will tell you that. They say, 'Yeah, Frank is probably one of the most accessible guys in music.' I'm the guy that if I'm opening the show, when I'm finished, I go sit in the hall. So I'm that type of guy. As a matter of fact, a lot of people in other bands used to be upset I would do that if I was opening the show. Especially at festivals. They'd say, 'Why are you going out there?' And I'd say, 'I'm going there to watch the bands.' They'd say, 'You can't let the people see you and think you're just like them.' And I go, 'I am just like them. Why do you think you're not just like them?' Think about that. You don't think you're just like them. I think that's a bad thing. Think about the mentality that goes with the guy that would actually believe what he just said."
Paid meet-and-greets are becoming staples of the touring circuit and are seen by some artists as a necessary evil to survive nowadays. Other musicians object to meet-and-greets on moral grounds, believing they favor richer fans over poorer ones. Similarly, many people view the fact that groups charge fans to meet them as completely exploitative, since artists are usually aware that young admirers are prepared to pay any amount of money to see their favorite band, sometimes at their parents' expense.
Y&T frontman Dave Meniketti previously said he was completely opposed to fans paying for meet-and-greets, but recently offered a so-called "Sound Check Experience" at some of the band's shows. Meniketti's wife Jill, who manages Y&T, later explained that the move was necessitated by the fact that "touring has become ridiculously expensive," adding this was the only way "to help salvage touring." She said: "Charging for extras is what most bands must do now in order to afford to continue performing. It's just the state of the business."
This past summer, Marino released a new live DVD/Blu-ray titled "Live At The Agora Theatre". Recorded live at The Agora Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio in 2010, this six-hour live performance is now available and presented in an elegant box set which includes both the Blu-ray and DVD formats in each box. You will receive four discs (one Blu-ray1080HD Disc in its own separate case and a three-DVD 720SD set in its own separate case), a 180-page book that delivers an in-depth chronicle of Frank's journey, from his early beginnings right up to this performance, as well as being filled with pictures that span Marino's career. The last 20 chapters are written by Marino in his own words and invite the reader to share intimate details about Frank's experiences, the making of this project, his personal feelings and his outlook on his life and career. You have a front-row-seat to witness the awe-inspiring man himself in the highest quality picture and sound as never seen before, while he delivers an incredible 58 tracks, many of which were rarely, if ever, played live.

JOE ELLIOTT's Side Project DOWN 'N' OUTZ Release "Creatures" Lyric Video
Down ‘N’ Outz, the project headed up by Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott, have released a lyric video for their new single, “Creatures”.
Elliott tells Classic Rock: “When I wrote the music for this I just had this weird feeling I was writing something very different to anything I’d written before. For a start, it was written on the piano but it was jaunty, vaudeville - almost a summary of the stuff that really intrigued me in my youth when artists like David Bowie, Roxy Music, Cockney Rebel and Queen embraced a very European style of writing. I knew the lyrics had to follow suit so it’s a stream of conscious type thing, very cinematic, dreamy.. don’t ask me what it’s all about!”
Read the full interview with Joe at Classic Rock. Watch the lyric video below:
Down ‘N’ Outz released their third studio album, This Is How We Roll, on October 11 via UMC. The band, featuring The Quireboys' Paul Guerin (Guitar), Guy Griffin (Guitar) and Keith Weir (keyboards), plus Share Ross (Bass, ex-Vixen) and Phil Martini (drums, Wayward Sons), takes a different approach on This Is How We Roll to their previous album. This new album only features one cover version (The Tubes' “White Punks On Dope") - alongside eleven original Joe Elliott-penned tracks.
The album is available on CD, LP, digitally and also on limited edition 12” Picture Disc LP.This Is How We Roll can be ordered here.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Guitarist Says IVAN MOODY Wants To Play Entire 'F8' Album Live
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH will release its eighth album, "F8", on February 28 via Better Noise Music. Guitarist Zoltan Bathory told The Pulse Of Radio that singer Ivan Moody almost can't wait to start playing the new songs live. "Ivan is, 'I want to play this whole record now,'" Zoltan said. "And it's like, 'Well, hold out for a second,' you know. Everybody's coming to the show expecting songs that they love and want to hear. You can't drop 10, 12, 13, 14 brand new songs they never heard of in a live set. But I can tell you that Ivan is super excited to start to put as many of these as he can into the new set."
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH recently announced the dates for a new spring North American tour. The trek kicks off on April 8 in Sunrise, Florida, winding down on May 20 in St. Paul, Minnesota. PAPA ROACH, I PREVAIL and ICE NINE KILLS will join FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH on the upcoming road trip.
"F8" is FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's first album to be completed after Moody's very public struggle with substance abuse took him to rehab several times.
The track list for "F8" includes the first single, "Inside Out", as well as the title track, "Full Circle", "Living The Dream", "A Little Bit Off", "Bottom Of The Top", "Darkness Settles In", "This Is War", "Leave It All Behind" and four others, along with three bonus tracks.
Moody spoke about "Inside Out" with Metal Hammer magazine, saying: "It's about alcoholism. It's about my family leaving. It's about my bandmates. It's about looking at myself in the fucking face and saying, 'Dude, you're going to have to do this because nobody else is coming.'"
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's new disc was once again helmed by Kevin Churko, the Canadian record producer/engineer and songwriter who currently lives in Las Vegas, where he works out of his private studio, The Hideout Recording Studio.
The drums on the LP were laid down by Charlie "The Engine" Engen, who made his live debut with the group during its fall 2018 tour with BREAKING BENJAMIN. He stepped in for original drummer Jeremy Spencer, who left the band in December 2018 due to a back injury.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH kicked off a U.S. headlining tour last month with THREE DAYS GRACE, BAD WOLVES and FIRE FROM THE GODS that next stops on Wednesday night (December 11) in Madison, Wisconsin.

TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS Doesn't Think He Will Be Asked To Participate In JUDAS PRIEST's 50th-Anniversary Tour
Former JUDAS PRIEST singer Tim "Ripper" Owens doesn't think he will be asked to participate in the band's upcoming 50th-anniversary tour.
Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 after being discovered when the band's drummer was given a videotape of him performing with the PRIEST cover band BRITISH STEEL. JUDAS PRIEST at the time was seeking a replacement for Rob Halford, who has since rejoined the band.
The Ohio-based singer created two studio albums with the British heavy metal legends — 1997's "Jugulator" and 2001's "Demolition" — before the band reunited with Halford.
When asked by a fan on Twitter earlier today if he will be involved in PRIEST's tour celebrating the half-century milestone, he replied, "I would say that's a No"
Bassist Ian Hill is the sole remaining original member of JUDAS PRIEST. Halford joined JUDAS PRIEST in 1973 and guitarist Glenn Tipton signed on in 1974. Rob left PRIEST in the early 1990s to form his own band, then returned to PRIEST in 2003. Founding guitarist K.K. Downing parted ways with the band in 2011, and was replaced by Richie Faulkner.
A month before the start of PRIEST's "Firepower" tour, Tipton bowed out due to the worsening of his Parkinson's disease, first diagnosed six years ago (after being stricken by the degenerative condition at least half a decade earlier). His spot in the band is being filled by "Firepower" album producer Andy Sneap.
Downing said in October 2018 that all of PRIEST's living former and current members should be involved in the group's upcoming 50th-anniversary celebration.
This past October, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.
Current members Halford, Hill, Tipton and drummer Scott Travis would be inducted along with Downing, Les Binks and late drummer Dave Holland.

Sweden's BLISTER BRIGADE Release New Single / Video "Venomous Twister"; New Album To Be Released In February 2020
Swedish hard-rocking riff machine Blister Brigade is set to release their third studio album, Slugfest Supreme, on February 21st, 2020 via Inverse Records. The band has released a first single, "Venomous Twister", along with music video.
The band comments on the "Venomous Twister" single: "The track kinda represents our new "sound" which is a bit harder than on previous records."

Slugfest Supreme contains both fast and heavy songs and also more mellow and acoustic material witch makes the album varying without losing any focus on the bands distinct sound.
Blister Brigade offers simply a pure lethal dose of Swedish street metal.

GODTHRYMM Featuring MY DYING BRIDE / ANATHEMA Vets To Release Reflections In February; Track Streaming
UK doom metal trio Godthrymm -- featuring vocalist/guitarist Hamish Glencross (ex-My Dying Bride, Vallenfyre, Solstice), drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels (ex-My Dying Bride, Anathema), and bassist Bob Crolla -- will unleash their debut album Reflections February 14, 2020 via Profound Lore.
Godthrymm was forged in 2017 by Glencross and sees the respected UK metal luminary return to his doom metal roots, creating the music he was known to help forge with Solstice on the legendary New Dark Age album and especially with the heralded My Dying Bride from the 2000 - 2014 time period. Further adding to the Godthrymm pedigree is drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels who, after some lineup refining following the band's A Grand Reclamation debut EP, became the core of Godthrymm. In the months to follow, the pair recorded the colossal Reflections full-length. Upon its completion, Glencross and Taylor-Steels added bassist Bob Crolla to the fold making Godthrymm a true power trio of doom.
Recorded and mixed by Nathan Bailey and featuring artwork and design by Brian D'Agosta of Gostworks Art (Vallenfyre, War//Plague), with Reflections, Godthrymm has unleashed a mammoth slab of heavy, mournful, yet pounding traditional doom that harks back to the classic era of '90s UK doom/Peaceville Records. A massive step up from their debut EP, Reflections is the result of Glencross taking Godthrymm into darker, more melancholic, and towering realms. Through Glencross' soaring passionate vocals complimenting his powerful riffs along with Taylor-Steels' thunderous percussion giving the rhythm section that immense and glorious tone, Reflections is a testament to the glory days of the genre while simultaneously making its statement as a new force of modern day doom metal to behold.
Godthrymm's Reflections will be released on CD, 2LP, and digital formats with preorders to be unveiled in January.
In the meantime, the band has issued the stunning first single "Among The Exalted." Notes Glencross, "Lyrically, 'Among The Exalted' is about desire becoming all-encompassing obsession, manifesting in such a way that yearning and devotion can become a manic and destructive force. Musically, we feel this song is very direct and represents us as musicians and who we are now, whilst also echoing our own history and also the glorious history of the celebrated UK doom scene. Thank you for listening."
Tracklisting:
“Monsters Lurk Herein”
“Among The Exalted”
“The Sea As My Grave”
“We Are The Dead”
“The Light Of You”
“The Grand Reclamation”
“Cursed Are The Many”
“Chasmic Sorrows”

Watch SKID ROW Perform At Scotland's WINTERSTORM Festival
Rockfiend Publications Scotland has uploaded video footage of SKID ROW's November 29 performance at WinterStorm festival at Troon Concert Hall in Troon, Scotland. Check it out below (filmed by Martin Goulden).
Last week, SKID ROW guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo confirmed to Paul Anthony of Planet Rock that the band is putting the finishing touches on the final chapter of the "United World Rebellion" trilogy, which will tentatively be released in 2020. The disc is being tracked at a Nashville, Tennessee studio with producer Michael Wagener, who also helmed the group's 1989 self-titled debut and 1991's "Slave To The Grind".
SKID ROW's new disc will mark its first release with South African-born, British-based vocalist ZP Theart (DRAGONFORCE, TANK, I AM I), who joined the band in 2016 following the departure of Tony Harnell (TNT, STARBREAKER).
SKID ROW's new album, which will be made available through Australia's Golden Robot Records, will feature collaborations with several outside songwriters, including Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR) and Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger of HALESTORM, a group that covered the title track of "Slave To The Grind" on its "ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP" in 2011. SKID ROW also worked with songwriter-for-hire Marti Frederiksen, who has previously collaborated with AEROSMITH, DEF LEPPARD, Jonny Lang and Sheryl Crow.
Unlike 2014's "Rise Of The Damnation Army - United World Rebellion: Chapter Two" and 2013's "United World Rebellion: Chapter One", SKID ROW's forthcoming release will be a full-length record.
This past January, Rhino released a 30th-anniversary remastered digital reissue of SKID ROW's quintuple-platinum 1989 debut album, which featured the hits "Youth Gone Wild", "18 & Life" and "I Remember You". The reissue also includes "Forever", a b-side recorded during the sessions for the album that previously appeared on the 1998 greatest-hits compilation "40 Seasons: The Best Of Skid Row", and a 10-track live performance recorded on April 26, 1989 at the Marquee in Westminster, California.
SKID ROW 2019 is:
ZP Theart - vocals
Rachel Bolan - bass
Dave "Snake" Sabo - guitar
Scotti Hill - guitars
Rob Hammersmith - drums

THE UNDERGROUND THIEVES Release Psych-Rock Voyage "Let You Know"; Music Video
The Underground Thieves, a Philadelphia-based band led by artist/songwriter/producer Nick Perri, released its new single and accompanying music video today. Titled “Let You Know”, the entrancing track, featuring Perri on lead vocals, is the group’s fourth official release to date.
Written and produced by Perri, “Let You Know” takes listeners on a haunting, yet uplifting, musical journey.
“‘Let You Know’ is about romantic attraction - the growing energy between two people falling for one another,” said Perri, who delivers an emotional performance on the track. “We wanted the music to reflect that experience - a con- tinuous build that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The song culminates with an explosion of drums and an in- tense reprise; it’s the end of the chase - the moment you get what you’re seeking.”
The single features bandmates Brian Weaver on bass; Justin DiFebbo on Hammond organ and synthesizer; Anthony Montesano and Michael Montesano on backing vocals; and Zil Fessler on drums.
Videographer/longtime Thieves collaborator Austin M. Bauman joined forces with filmmaker Brynn Bailey and visual effects specialist Mark Melchiorre, Jr. to aid Perri in directing an immersive, psychedelic music video for “Let You Know”. The riveting video is filled with a myriad of pulsating shapes and colors, superimposed shots of band members, and other sensory flourishes. It is available to stream below.
“Listening to the finished recording of ‘Let You Know’, I kept envisioning a voyage through space and time, reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick’s Star Gate sequence in 2001: A Space Odyssey,” said Perri. “I was inspired to channel Kubrick and create our own experience. Our planned efforts, mixed with some unplanned filmmaking magic, resulted in a video that exceeded our initial expectations.”
“Let You Know” - along with The Underground Thieves’s preceding singles - is available on iTunes, Spotify and other major music networks. It was mixed and mastered by Marc DiSisto, whose credits include U2, Pink Floyd, Blondie, The Who, and Patti Smith - among other classic rock and pop icons. DiSisto also engineered Silvertide’s Show & Tell album, on which Perri was lead guitarist and co-songwriter.
The Underground Thieves will serve as direct support for The Struts at The Fillmore Philadelphia on December 28 and 29; both performances are sold out.

Berzerker Legion have released a music video for the title track of their first album, Obliterate The Weak, out on January 31 via Listenable Records. Pre-order the album here, and watch the clip below.
Berzerker Legion was founded in 2016 by guitarists Tomas Elofsson (Hypocrisy) and Alwin Zuur (Asphyx) with a vision to create death metal of the most belligerent quality, they recruited a lineup of solid well-known musicians consisting of James Stewart (Vader) on drums, Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath) on vocals and Fredrik Isaksson (Dark Funeral) on bass to complete the Legion.
Vocalist Jonny Pettersson explains the lyrical theme of Obliterate The Weak: "The lyrical concept is based around how religion is poisoning the world, and even after so many years of evolution, development, we still have huge parts of the world that believes in a fairytale, people who believe that this fairytale is worth going to war over, worth killing for and uses as an excuse for truly malevolent acts. These are weak minded sheep that will do anything in the name of whatever god they believe in. Obliterate The Weak draws from the will to eradicate all forms of religion and tells a story of atrocities made in the name of a fiction."

AC/DC's 'Back in Black' Certified 25 Times Platinum In U.S.
On December 6, AC/DC's 1980 breakthrough album "Back in Black" was certified by the Recording Industry Association Of America for U.S. shipments of 25 million copies.
"Back in Black" first went platinum in October 1980 and had previously been certified 22 times platinum in December 2007. The RIAA lists "Back In Black" as the fourth biggest-selling album of all time.
On July 25, 1980, AC/DC released "Back In Black" in the U.S., followed by the album's U.K. release on July 31. It was the band's first album without lead singer Bon Scott, who had died a few months earlier after passing out and choking on his own vomit following a long night of drinking.
The group quickly decided to press on and hired Brian Johnson from the band GEORDIE to take over on vocals, and they headed to the Bahamas for about six weeks to do the album. AC/DC had made some serious headway in America before Scott's death, but no one knew how "Back In Black" would be received.
Johnson told The Pulse of Radio that he didn't have a clue how successful "Back In Black" would turn out to be. "I'd just melted me brain in there, and I didn't know if it was good or bad," he said. "That was the first time I'd been in the Bahamas, anyway, or near America, you know, and you (have to) remember, I was just fascinated by the whole culture and all, and I had no idea what the hell I was doing! And (laughs) lucky, really — I was a bit lucky, I think."
"Back In Black" included the singles "You Shook Me All Night Long", which peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Back In Black", which peaked at No. 37.
Despite its massive success, it never got higher than No. 4 on the album charts. The band's next album, "For Those About To Rock", reached No. 1.
"Back In Black" was produced by Robert "Mutt" Lange, who went on to produce DEF LEPPARD, FOREIGNER, THE CARS, and BRYAN ADAMS.
In 2012, "Back In Black" was added to The Recording Academy's legendary Grammy Hall Of Fame collection.

BLACK SWAN Feat. JEFF PILSON, ROBIN MCAULEY, REB BEACH And MATT STARR: 'Shake The World' Album Due In February
BLACK SWAN, the new band featuring bassist Jeff Pilson (DOKKEN, FOREIGNER), vocalist Robin McAuley (MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP, SURVIVOR), guitarist Reb Beach (WINGER, WHITESNAKE) and drummer Matt Starr (MR. BIG, ACE FREHLEY), will release its debut album, "Shake The World", on February 14, 2020 via Frontiers Music Srl. The disc's lead single and music video for the title track will be released tomorrow (Tuesday, December 10).
Speaking to Rock Titan, Starr stated about how his involvement in the project came about: "[In early 2019], Jeff reached out and said, 'hey, I've got this new thing with Robin McAuley and Reb Beach, and I wanted to see if you'd be interested in talking about playing drums.' And I said, 'Yeah. Of course.' I know all those guys — [they're] super talented. They have a record, and the record was done and they needed to put some drums on it. So they had asked me, and I checked out the music and it was very cool. I said yes, and then, three days later, I was up at Jeff's place and we were cutting drum tracks. We spent four days, three and a half days recording 12 songs. And it's awesome… And it's really, really, really good. Everybody says that about whatever they're working on, but we were all, like, 'Holy shit! This is awesome.'"
The drummer, who has played with a number of high-profile acts in the past, said that he is an official member of the new project, "which is great. And I think that's kind of the first time for me, because I'm always coming into situations where I'm the hired guy," he said. "And look, there's advantages to that too — you negotiate your rate and then the tour can do whatever it does and you don't have to worry about it. So there's pluses and minuses to all that. But, yeah, I'm a member of this band. And I think everybody's pretty excited to get out there and play. Just how and when we can do that, we'll have to wait and see."
Back in February, Pilson officially confirmed the project's existence, saying that the album was "turning out amazing. Wait until you hear everybody's playing and singing. It's beyond — way beyond," he promised.
Pilson — one-fourth of the classic DOKKEN lineup — joined FOREIGNER in 2004. In recent years, he has also produced albums by LAST IN LINE, KILL DEVIL HILL, STARSHIP and WARRANT.
Beach — who was among the artists recently interviewed for Guitar World's February 2019 cover story on the "last days of hair metal" — is an original member of WINGER. He joined WHITESNAKE in 2002. Notably, he also performed on one DOKKEN album alongside Pilson, 1999's "Erase The Slate".
Irish vocalist McAuley is best-known for fronting MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP from 1986 to 1993. Alongside Graham Bonnet and Gary Barden, he has toured with MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST in recent years and also appears on "Resurrection", the group's 2018 album.
Starr — who joined Ace Frehley's band in 2012 and continues to perform with him periodically — began touring with MR. BIG in 2014 and appears on the group's latest album, 2017's "Defying Gravity". He has also toured and/or recorded with HOOKERS & BLOW, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES and BURNING RAIN, among others.

IAN PARRY To Release In Flagrante Delicto Album In February; Audio Preview Streaming
Metal Mind Productions has announced the release of the fifth solo album by Ian Parry, entitled In Flagrante Delicto.
The album is scheduled for worldwide release on February 21 and includes 10 hypnotic catchy modern power rock synthesizer/guitar/vocal based songs in a diverse style ranging from YES style synthesizer atmospheres, to Whitesnake/ Foreigner classic rock and a hint of Rammstein, together with a commercial heart felt Bad English/Peter Gabriel style ballad.
In Flagrante Delicto deals with the issue of plastic and toxic waste very much in the mainstream media at present and a subject Ian holds very close to his heart. Find an audio preview below.
After spending more than a decade (co-) writing and compiling songs to best illustrate this serious issue, Ian sings out a passionate message from the heart, but still retains the creative edge for a little fantasy for his fans. Ian’s wish is simply to make more people aware of what’s happening in his own way via music, with the talent and support of incredible musicians: guitarists - Stephan Lill (Vanden Plas) and co-writer; Patrick Rondat; drummers - Casey Grillo (Kamelot), Imre Daun (Brian Robertson Band), Andreas Lill & Gary King; bass guitarists - Barend Courbois (Blind Guardian, Tank), Torsten Reichert; keyboard player & co-songwriter - Jeroen van der Wiel, plus many more.
As an established singer in the world of rock and metal with worldwide sales exceeding 200,000, Ian Parry’s almost 40 year career being with his first professional band Mono Pacific in 1981 has given him the opportunity to work with many well-known artists such as Kamelot, Elegy, Ayreon, Mob Rules, Royal Hunt, Vengeance, Hammerhead, Valencia, Infinity Overture, Crystal Tears, Von Baltzer & his self-produced 5-album epic rock metal concept Consortium Project.
Produced by Ian, In Flagrante Delicto has been masterfully mixed by Swedish engineer/producer Martin Kronlund (Hammerfall/ Firewind/ Rock Emporium).
In Flagrante Delicto opens a new chapter in Ian’s phenomenal career combining passion, true facts and raw power in a modern synthesizer / guitar based melodic rock album.

HELION PRIME Launch Lyric Video For Previously Unreleased Cover Of HELLOWEEN's "Mr. Torture"
US melodic metal band, Helion Prime, have unleashed a lyric video for the previously unreleased track, "Mr. Torture". This cover version of the Helloween classic was recorded during the session for the latest album, Terror Of The Cybernetic Space Monster, which saw the light of day in August 2018.
The band comments: "With this release of 'Mr. Torture' we want to say one final farewell to Sozos Michael as the Helion Prime vocalist. Sozos has become a great friend to the members of the band and we have nothing but love for him. Unfortunately with rising issues in the USA concerning artist visas it became clear for the band to push forward in the direction it's going we need someone more close to home, but this will not be the last you see from Sozos and prime members. Keep an eye out for updates on that!"
Helion Prime recently announced Mary Zimmer as their new vocalist, and have made a demo version of the new track "The Final Theory" available. Check it out below. The band is more than 75% complete with the follow-up album and hopes to see a 2020 release.

Why JUDAS PRIEST Deserves To Be Inducted Into ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME (Video)
JUDAS PRIEST has uploaded a new video touting the band's nomination for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. The 95-second clip contains some of PRIEST's best-known songs and includes facts about the group's 50-year career, such as crediting the British heavy metal legends with "revolutionaliz[ing] heavy metal fashion and cultural dress by introducing the leather-and-studs look" and "pioneer[ing] modern metal and continu[ing] to reshape heavy metal today."
Having been eligible for induction since 1999, JUDAS PRIEST was on the ballot for last year's class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but ultimately didn't clinch the nomination.
This past October, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.
To be eligible for this year's ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to be released in 1994 or earlier.
A voter pool of more than 1,000 artists, historians, journalists and members of the music industry will select the new class. Fans will also have a chance to take part in the process by voting at RockHall.com or an interactive kiosk at the museum in Cleveland.
Rob Halford, Les Binks, K.K. Downing, Ian Hill, Dave Holland, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis are on the ballot for JUDAS PRIEST.
Speaking to Ultimate Classic Rock, Halford said about the prospect of PRIEST finally getting the nod: "It would be wonderful [to be inducted]. I think it's one of the greatest accolades you can be given, because you're in the company of musical giants.
"When we were first nominated, I kind of went crazy and I was texting my friends and [sending] e-mails and going, 'You've got to vote! You've got to vote!" he recalled. "And then we didn't get in. I was disappointed. But it is what it is. This time, I haven't really been checking the voting that much, but apparently, we're in the Top 5 right now, for the fan votes. Which speaks volumes about our wonderful fans around the world that are voting every day."
Downing, who left the band acrimoniously eight years ago, told BlastEcho in a 2016 interview that he "would be fine" with performing with his former bandmates at the Rock Hall induction ceremony if they were to ever receive the honor. Halford was also open to the idea of reuniting with Downing on the night, telling Billboard in 2017: "Everything's on the table for anyone that's been associated with PRIEST in and out of the band."

BLOODTRUTH Premiere "Inner Resurrection" Music Video
Relentlessly extreme Italian death metal band Bloodtruth have premiered a music video for their song "Inner Resurrection", which is from their most recent album Matyrium.
"Inner Resurrection" showcases all of the blistering speed and unflinching technicality that the group have become known for.
Bloodtruth commented, "No words can describe how excited we are and how long we waited for this moment. This video expresses all our dedication and hard work that the creation of our latest album required. We are really proud of the results obtained with this new video, both technically and artistically speaking. We chose the song ‘Inner Resurrection’ since we consider it a very important song for the band. In fact, from a musical point of view, it contains some of the most particular elements of the whole album concerning the riffing and the arrangements."
"We want to thank our videomaker Guglielmo Sergio, as he worked on a death metal video for his very first time getting an excellent result! Personally, it was a really cool experience and my first time as an actor. I even had to learn how to write a script with gothic characters in a very short time, it was really crazy! In the future, we will have a lot of chances to play several of the Martyrium album songs in some really cool festivals; our new collaboration with Jon Knight and The Flaming Arts immediately paid off, thanks to their extreme professionalism."
Martyrium tracklisting:
"1184 P.C."
"Centuries Of Intolerance (Danse Macabre)"
"Schismatical Crusades "
"Inner Resurrection "
"Peste Noire"
"Prelude To Havoc"
