TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS Doesn't Think He Will Be Asked To Participate In JUDAS PRIEST's 50th-Anniversary Tour
Former JUDAS PRIEST singer Tim "Ripper" Owens doesn't think he will be asked to participate in the band's upcoming 50th-anniversary tour.
Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 after being discovered when the band's drummer was given a videotape of him performing with the PRIEST cover band BRITISH STEEL. JUDAS PRIEST at the time was seeking a replacement for Rob Halford, who has since rejoined the band.
The Ohio-based singer created two studio albums with the British heavy metal legends — 1997's "Jugulator" and 2001's "Demolition" — before the band reunited with Halford.
When asked by a fan on Twitter earlier today if he will be involved in PRIEST's tour celebrating the half-century milestone, he replied, "I would say that's a No"
Bassist Ian Hill is the sole remaining original member of JUDAS PRIEST. Halford joined JUDAS PRIEST in 1973 and guitarist Glenn Tipton signed on in 1974. Rob left PRIEST in the early 1990s to form his own band, then returned to PRIEST in 2003. Founding guitarist K.K. Downing parted ways with the band in 2011, and was replaced by Richie Faulkner.
A month before the start of PRIEST's "Firepower" tour, Tipton bowed out due to the worsening of his Parkinson's disease, first diagnosed six years ago (after being stricken by the degenerative condition at least half a decade earlier). His spot in the band is being filled by "Firepower" album producer Andy Sneap.
Downing said in October 2018 that all of PRIEST's living former and current members should be involved in the group's upcoming 50th-anniversary celebration.
This past October, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.
Current members Halford, Hill, Tipton and drummer Scott Travis would be inducted along with Downing, Les Binks and late drummer Dave Holland.
I would say that’s a No https://t.co/9WxbwWo0fs

Swedish hard-rocking riff machine Blister Brigade is set to release their third studio album, Slugfest Supreme, on February 21st, 2020 via Inverse Records. The band has released a first single, "Venomous Twister", along with music video.

GODTHRYMM Featuring MY DYING BRIDE / ANATHEMA Vets To Release Reflections In February; Track Streaming
UK doom metal trio Godthrymm -- featuring vocalist/guitarist Hamish Glencross (ex-My Dying Bride, Vallenfyre, Solstice), drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels (ex-My Dying Bride, Anathema), and bassist Bob Crolla -- will unleash their debut album Reflections February 14, 2020 via Profound Lore.
Godthrymm was forged in 2017 by Glencross and sees the respected UK metal luminary return to his doom metal roots, creating the music he was known to help forge with Solstice on the legendary New Dark Age album and especially with the heralded My Dying Bride from the 2000 - 2014 time period. Further adding to the Godthrymm pedigree is drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels who, after some lineup refining following the band's A Grand Reclamation debut EP, became the core of Godthrymm. In the months to follow, the pair recorded the colossal Reflections full-length. Upon its completion, Glencross and Taylor-Steels added bassist Bob Crolla to the fold making Godthrymm a true power trio of doom.
Recorded and mixed by Nathan Bailey and featuring artwork and design by Brian D'Agosta of Gostworks Art (Vallenfyre, War//Plague), with Reflections, Godthrymm has unleashed a mammoth slab of heavy, mournful, yet pounding traditional doom that harks back to the classic era of '90s UK doom/Peaceville Records. A massive step up from their debut EP, Reflections is the result of Glencross taking Godthrymm into darker, more melancholic, and towering realms. Through Glencross' soaring passionate vocals complimenting his powerful riffs along with Taylor-Steels' thunderous percussion giving the rhythm section that immense and glorious tone, Reflections is a testament to the glory days of the genre while simultaneously making its statement as a new force of modern day doom metal to behold.
Godthrymm's Reflections will be released on CD, 2LP, and digital formats with preorders to be unveiled in January.
In the meantime, the band has issued the stunning first single "Among The Exalted." Notes Glencross, "Lyrically, 'Among The Exalted' is about desire becoming all-encompassing obsession, manifesting in such a way that yearning and devotion can become a manic and destructive force. Musically, we feel this song is very direct and represents us as musicians and who we are now, whilst also echoing our own history and also the glorious history of the celebrated UK doom scene. Thank you for listening."
Tracklisting:
“Monsters Lurk Herein”
“Among The Exalted”
“The Sea As My Grave”
“We Are The Dead”
“The Light Of You”
“The Grand Reclamation”
“Cursed Are The Many”
“Chasmic Sorrows”

Watch SKID ROW Perform At Scotland's WINTERSTORM Festival
Rockfiend Publications Scotland has uploaded video footage of SKID ROW's November 29 performance at WinterStorm festival at Troon Concert Hall in Troon, Scotland. Check it out below (filmed by Martin Goulden).
Last week, SKID ROW guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo confirmed to Paul Anthony of Planet Rock that the band is putting the finishing touches on the final chapter of the "United World Rebellion" trilogy, which will tentatively be released in 2020. The disc is being tracked at a Nashville, Tennessee studio with producer Michael Wagener, who also helmed the group's 1989 self-titled debut and 1991's "Slave To The Grind".
SKID ROW's new disc will mark its first release with South African-born, British-based vocalist ZP Theart (DRAGONFORCE, TANK, I AM I), who joined the band in 2016 following the departure of Tony Harnell (TNT, STARBREAKER).
SKID ROW's new album, which will be made available through Australia's Golden Robot Records, will feature collaborations with several outside songwriters, including Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR) and Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger of HALESTORM, a group that covered the title track of "Slave To The Grind" on its "ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP" in 2011. SKID ROW also worked with songwriter-for-hire Marti Frederiksen, who has previously collaborated with AEROSMITH, DEF LEPPARD, Jonny Lang and Sheryl Crow.
Unlike 2014's "Rise Of The Damnation Army - United World Rebellion: Chapter Two" and 2013's "United World Rebellion: Chapter One", SKID ROW's forthcoming release will be a full-length record.
This past January, Rhino released a 30th-anniversary remastered digital reissue of SKID ROW's quintuple-platinum 1989 debut album, which featured the hits "Youth Gone Wild", "18 & Life" and "I Remember You". The reissue also includes "Forever", a b-side recorded during the sessions for the album that previously appeared on the 1998 greatest-hits compilation "40 Seasons: The Best Of Skid Row", and a 10-track live performance recorded on April 26, 1989 at the Marquee in Westminster, California.
SKID ROW 2019 is:
ZP Theart - vocals
Rachel Bolan - bass
Dave "Snake" Sabo - guitar
Scotti Hill - guitars
Rob Hammersmith - drums

THE UNDERGROUND THIEVES Release Psych-Rock Voyage "Let You Know"; Music Video
The Underground Thieves, a Philadelphia-based band led by artist/songwriter/producer Nick Perri, released its new single and accompanying music video today. Titled “Let You Know”, the entrancing track, featuring Perri on lead vocals, is the group’s fourth official release to date.
Written and produced by Perri, “Let You Know” takes listeners on a haunting, yet uplifting, musical journey.
“‘Let You Know’ is about romantic attraction - the growing energy between two people falling for one another,” said Perri, who delivers an emotional performance on the track. “We wanted the music to reflect that experience - a con- tinuous build that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The song culminates with an explosion of drums and an in- tense reprise; it’s the end of the chase - the moment you get what you’re seeking.”
The single features bandmates Brian Weaver on bass; Justin DiFebbo on Hammond organ and synthesizer; Anthony Montesano and Michael Montesano on backing vocals; and Zil Fessler on drums.
Videographer/longtime Thieves collaborator Austin M. Bauman joined forces with filmmaker Brynn Bailey and visual effects specialist Mark Melchiorre, Jr. to aid Perri in directing an immersive, psychedelic music video for “Let You Know”. The riveting video is filled with a myriad of pulsating shapes and colors, superimposed shots of band members, and other sensory flourishes. It is available to stream below.
“Listening to the finished recording of ‘Let You Know’, I kept envisioning a voyage through space and time, reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick’s Star Gate sequence in 2001: A Space Odyssey,” said Perri. “I was inspired to channel Kubrick and create our own experience. Our planned efforts, mixed with some unplanned filmmaking magic, resulted in a video that exceeded our initial expectations.”
“Let You Know” - along with The Underground Thieves’s preceding singles - is available on iTunes, Spotify and other major music networks. It was mixed and mastered by Marc DiSisto, whose credits include U2, Pink Floyd, Blondie, The Who, and Patti Smith - among other classic rock and pop icons. DiSisto also engineered Silvertide’s Show & Tell album, on which Perri was lead guitarist and co-songwriter.
The Underground Thieves will serve as direct support for The Struts at The Fillmore Philadelphia on December 28 and 29; both performances are sold out.

Berzerker Legion have released a music video for the title track of their first album, Obliterate The Weak, out on January 31 via Listenable Records. Pre-order the album here, and watch the clip below.
Berzerker Legion was founded in 2016 by guitarists Tomas Elofsson (Hypocrisy) and Alwin Zuur (Asphyx) with a vision to create death metal of the most belligerent quality, they recruited a lineup of solid well-known musicians consisting of James Stewart (Vader) on drums, Jonny Pettersson (Wombbath) on vocals and Fredrik Isaksson (Dark Funeral) on bass to complete the Legion.
Vocalist Jonny Pettersson explains the lyrical theme of Obliterate The Weak: "The lyrical concept is based around how religion is poisoning the world, and even after so many years of evolution, development, we still have huge parts of the world that believes in a fairytale, people who believe that this fairytale is worth going to war over, worth killing for and uses as an excuse for truly malevolent acts. These are weak minded sheep that will do anything in the name of whatever god they believe in. Obliterate The Weak draws from the will to eradicate all forms of religion and tells a story of atrocities made in the name of a fiction."

AC/DC's 'Back in Black' Certified 25 Times Platinum In U.S.
On December 6, AC/DC's 1980 breakthrough album "Back in Black" was certified by the Recording Industry Association Of America for U.S. shipments of 25 million copies.
"Back in Black" first went platinum in October 1980 and had previously been certified 22 times platinum in December 2007. The RIAA lists "Back In Black" as the fourth biggest-selling album of all time.
On July 25, 1980, AC/DC released "Back In Black" in the U.S., followed by the album's U.K. release on July 31. It was the band's first album without lead singer Bon Scott, who had died a few months earlier after passing out and choking on his own vomit following a long night of drinking.
The group quickly decided to press on and hired Brian Johnson from the band GEORDIE to take over on vocals, and they headed to the Bahamas for about six weeks to do the album. AC/DC had made some serious headway in America before Scott's death, but no one knew how "Back In Black" would be received.
Johnson told The Pulse of Radio that he didn't have a clue how successful "Back In Black" would turn out to be. "I'd just melted me brain in there, and I didn't know if it was good or bad," he said. "That was the first time I'd been in the Bahamas, anyway, or near America, you know, and you (have to) remember, I was just fascinated by the whole culture and all, and I had no idea what the hell I was doing! And (laughs) lucky, really — I was a bit lucky, I think."
"Back In Black" included the singles "You Shook Me All Night Long", which peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Back In Black", which peaked at No. 37.
Despite its massive success, it never got higher than No. 4 on the album charts. The band's next album, "For Those About To Rock", reached No. 1.
"Back In Black" was produced by Robert "Mutt" Lange, who went on to produce DEF LEPPARD, FOREIGNER, THE CARS, and BRYAN ADAMS.
In 2012, "Back In Black" was added to The Recording Academy's legendary Grammy Hall Of Fame collection.

BLACK SWAN Feat. JEFF PILSON, ROBIN MCAULEY, REB BEACH And MATT STARR: 'Shake The World' Album Due In February
BLACK SWAN, the new band featuring bassist Jeff Pilson (DOKKEN, FOREIGNER), vocalist Robin McAuley (MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP, SURVIVOR), guitarist Reb Beach (WINGER, WHITESNAKE) and drummer Matt Starr (MR. BIG, ACE FREHLEY), will release its debut album, "Shake The World", on February 14, 2020 via Frontiers Music Srl. The disc's lead single and music video for the title track will be released tomorrow (Tuesday, December 10).
Speaking to Rock Titan, Starr stated about how his involvement in the project came about: "[In early 2019], Jeff reached out and said, 'hey, I've got this new thing with Robin McAuley and Reb Beach, and I wanted to see if you'd be interested in talking about playing drums.' And I said, 'Yeah. Of course.' I know all those guys — [they're] super talented. They have a record, and the record was done and they needed to put some drums on it. So they had asked me, and I checked out the music and it was very cool. I said yes, and then, three days later, I was up at Jeff's place and we were cutting drum tracks. We spent four days, three and a half days recording 12 songs. And it's awesome… And it's really, really, really good. Everybody says that about whatever they're working on, but we were all, like, 'Holy shit! This is awesome.'"
The drummer, who has played with a number of high-profile acts in the past, said that he is an official member of the new project, "which is great. And I think that's kind of the first time for me, because I'm always coming into situations where I'm the hired guy," he said. "And look, there's advantages to that too — you negotiate your rate and then the tour can do whatever it does and you don't have to worry about it. So there's pluses and minuses to all that. But, yeah, I'm a member of this band. And I think everybody's pretty excited to get out there and play. Just how and when we can do that, we'll have to wait and see."
Back in February, Pilson officially confirmed the project's existence, saying that the album was "turning out amazing. Wait until you hear everybody's playing and singing. It's beyond — way beyond," he promised.
Pilson — one-fourth of the classic DOKKEN lineup — joined FOREIGNER in 2004. In recent years, he has also produced albums by LAST IN LINE, KILL DEVIL HILL, STARSHIP and WARRANT.
Beach — who was among the artists recently interviewed for Guitar World's February 2019 cover story on the "last days of hair metal" — is an original member of WINGER. He joined WHITESNAKE in 2002. Notably, he also performed on one DOKKEN album alongside Pilson, 1999's "Erase The Slate".
Irish vocalist McAuley is best-known for fronting MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP from 1986 to 1993. Alongside Graham Bonnet and Gary Barden, he has toured with MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST in recent years and also appears on "Resurrection", the group's 2018 album.

IAN PARRY To Release In Flagrante Delicto Album In February; Audio Preview Streaming
Metal Mind Productions has announced the release of the fifth solo album by Ian Parry, entitled In Flagrante Delicto.
The album is scheduled for worldwide release on February 21 and includes 10 hypnotic catchy modern power rock synthesizer/guitar/vocal based songs in a diverse style ranging from YES style synthesizer atmospheres, to Whitesnake/ Foreigner classic rock and a hint of Rammstein, together with a commercial heart felt Bad English/Peter Gabriel style ballad.
In Flagrante Delicto deals with the issue of plastic and toxic waste very much in the mainstream media at present and a subject Ian holds very close to his heart. Find an audio preview below.
After spending more than a decade (co-) writing and compiling songs to best illustrate this serious issue, Ian sings out a passionate message from the heart, but still retains the creative edge for a little fantasy for his fans. Ian’s wish is simply to make more people aware of what’s happening in his own way via music, with the talent and support of incredible musicians: guitarists - Stephan Lill (Vanden Plas) and co-writer; Patrick Rondat; drummers - Casey Grillo (Kamelot), Imre Daun (Brian Robertson Band), Andreas Lill & Gary King; bass guitarists - Barend Courbois (Blind Guardian, Tank), Torsten Reichert; keyboard player & co-songwriter - Jeroen van der Wiel, plus many more.
As an established singer in the world of rock and metal with worldwide sales exceeding 200,000, Ian Parry’s almost 40 year career being with his first professional band Mono Pacific in 1981 has given him the opportunity to work with many well-known artists such as Kamelot, Elegy, Ayreon, Mob Rules, Royal Hunt, Vengeance, Hammerhead, Valencia, Infinity Overture, Crystal Tears, Von Baltzer & his self-produced 5-album epic rock metal concept Consortium Project.
Produced by Ian, In Flagrante Delicto has been masterfully mixed by Swedish engineer/producer Martin Kronlund (Hammerfall/ Firewind/ Rock Emporium).
In Flagrante Delicto opens a new chapter in Ian’s phenomenal career combining passion, true facts and raw power in a modern synthesizer / guitar based melodic rock album.

HELION PRIME Launch Lyric Video For Previously Unreleased Cover Of HELLOWEEN's "Mr. Torture"
US melodic metal band, Helion Prime, have unleashed a lyric video for the previously unreleased track, "Mr. Torture". This cover version of the Helloween classic was recorded during the session for the latest album, Terror Of The Cybernetic Space Monster, which saw the light of day in August 2018.
The band comments: "With this release of 'Mr. Torture' we want to say one final farewell to Sozos Michael as the Helion Prime vocalist. Sozos has become a great friend to the members of the band and we have nothing but love for him. Unfortunately with rising issues in the USA concerning artist visas it became clear for the band to push forward in the direction it's going we need someone more close to home, but this will not be the last you see from Sozos and prime members. Keep an eye out for updates on that!"
Helion Prime recently announced Mary Zimmer as their new vocalist, and have made a demo version of the new track "The Final Theory" available. Check it out below. The band is more than 75% complete with the follow-up album and hopes to see a 2020 release.

Why JUDAS PRIEST Deserves To Be Inducted Into ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME (Video)
JUDAS PRIEST has uploaded a new video touting the band's nomination for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. The 95-second clip contains some of PRIEST's best-known songs and includes facts about the group's 50-year career, such as crediting the British heavy metal legends with "revolutionaliz[ing] heavy metal fashion and cultural dress by introducing the leather-and-studs look" and "pioneer[ing] modern metal and continu[ing] to reshape heavy metal today."
Having been eligible for induction since 1999, JUDAS PRIEST was on the ballot for last year's class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but ultimately didn't clinch the nomination.
This past October, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.
To be eligible for this year's ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to be released in 1994 or earlier.
A voter pool of more than 1,000 artists, historians, journalists and members of the music industry will select the new class. Fans will also have a chance to take part in the process by voting at RockHall.com or an interactive kiosk at the museum in Cleveland.
Rob Halford, Les Binks, K.K. Downing, Ian Hill, Dave Holland, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis are on the ballot for JUDAS PRIEST.
Speaking to Ultimate Classic Rock, Halford said about the prospect of PRIEST finally getting the nod: "It would be wonderful [to be inducted]. I think it's one of the greatest accolades you can be given, because you're in the company of musical giants.
"When we were first nominated, I kind of went crazy and I was texting my friends and [sending] e-mails and going, 'You've got to vote! You've got to vote!" he recalled. "And then we didn't get in. I was disappointed. But it is what it is. This time, I haven't really been checking the voting that much, but apparently, we're in the Top 5 right now, for the fan votes. Which speaks volumes about our wonderful fans around the world that are voting every day."
Downing, who left the band acrimoniously eight years ago, told BlastEcho in a 2016 interview that he "would be fine" with performing with his former bandmates at the Rock Hall induction ceremony if they were to ever receive the honor. Halford was also open to the idea of reuniting with Downing on the night, telling Billboard in 2017: "Everything's on the table for anyone that's been associated with PRIEST in and out of the band."

BLOODTRUTH Premiere "Inner Resurrection" Music Video
Relentlessly extreme Italian death metal band Bloodtruth have premiered a music video for their song "Inner Resurrection", which is from their most recent album Matyrium.
"Inner Resurrection" showcases all of the blistering speed and unflinching technicality that the group have become known for.
Bloodtruth commented, "No words can describe how excited we are and how long we waited for this moment. This video expresses all our dedication and hard work that the creation of our latest album required. We are really proud of the results obtained with this new video, both technically and artistically speaking. We chose the song ‘Inner Resurrection’ since we consider it a very important song for the band. In fact, from a musical point of view, it contains some of the most particular elements of the whole album concerning the riffing and the arrangements."
"We want to thank our videomaker Guglielmo Sergio, as he worked on a death metal video for his very first time getting an excellent result! Personally, it was a really cool experience and my first time as an actor. I even had to learn how to write a script with gothic characters in a very short time, it was really crazy! In the future, we will have a lot of chances to play several of the Martyrium album songs in some really cool festivals; our new collaboration with Jon Knight and The Flaming Arts immediately paid off, thanks to their extreme professionalism."

NECRONOMICON Release NSFW Music Video For "The Thousand Masks"
Canadian black/death metal horde, Necronomicon, have released their horror-fueled music video for the song, "The Thousand Masks". The track is taken from the band's latest record, Unus, which was released this October via Season of Mist. The NSFW video, which serves as a cautionary tale of why you shouldn't mess with the grimoire, can be seen below.
Speaking of the video, Rob "The Witch" comments: “Over 30 years ago we started a project called Necronomicon writing about H.P. Lovecraft mythos and with time passing, we decided to pay homage to the origin of our name and fully embrace it. The stars are aligned the time is right to reveal the many forms under ‘The Thousand masks.’"
With Advent Of The Human God, Necronomicon presented themselves at a new height in their long lasting career, which began as early as 1988 with the founding of the band by guitarist and singer Rob "The Witch" in the deep northern part of Canadian province Quebec, called the "Fjord of Saguenay." Now, they continue to push the envelope with their sixth studio album, Unus.
Unus is a searing cacophony that blends blistering riffs, machine-like drums, and a symphonic ambience, culminating in a sound that calls to various metal icons such as Dimmu Borgir, Septicflesh, Behemoth, and Deicide. The record combines the furious elements of death metal with the symphonic prowess of black metal, creating the perfect synthesis of both genres.
Recorded at Sliver Wings studio, produced by Rob The Witch. Mixed and mastered at Darth Mader music studio by Logan Mader (Machine Head).
Artwork: Dragon caduceus design by Nestor Avalos, layout and artwork by Simon Bossert.

CHRIS CORNELL's Widow Sues SOUNDGARDEN Over Royalties And Rights To Unreleased Recordings
According to TMZ, Chris Cornell's widow has sued the surviving members of SOUNDGARDEN over royalties and the rights to unreleased recordings.
In the lawsuit, Vicky Cornell claims the musicians are withholding hundreds of thousands of dollars in royalties owed to her and Chris's minor children.
She calls the move an "unlawful attempt to strong-arm Chris' Estate into turning over certain audio recordings created by Chris before he passed away."
Vicky claims the seven unreleased songs were "solely authored by Chris; contain Chris' own vocal tracks; and were bequeathed to Chris' Estate" for the benefit of her and their kids.
Vicky says that she has offered to share the recordings with SOUNDGARDEN, so they can be released in a way that respects Chris's wishes — including having his producer involved — but that the band refused. She also accuses SOUNDGARDEN guitarist Kim Thayil of putting her family in harm's way by making intentionally misleading comments to SOUNDGARDEN's "loyal, rabid fan base" and suggesting that she is the main obstacle to the band putting out another album.
Last month, Thayil told the satellite radio program "Trunk Nation" that it was "entirely possible" that a new SOUNDGARDEN album featuring the final recordings by Chris Cornell could see the light of day. "We definitely have another record in us," he said. "Stuff that's written, stuff that's demoed and recorded — certainly. All it would need is to take the audio files that are available... We can get the producers we want to make it sound like a SOUNDGARDEN record."
SOUNDGARDEN was working on new music before Cornell's death in May 2017, and the singer had laid down some vocal tracks. Asked if there were any obstacles to completing the LP, Thayil said: "There shouldn't be... other than the fact that we don't have those files." He continued, "I think that will happen. It would be ridiculous if it didn't. But these are difficult things — partnerships and property."
Thayil did rule out the possibility of SOUNDGARDEN touring without Cornell, saying: "I do not see, given the commitments that other band members have, given our sentiments and love for Chris, I do not see us reconfiguring a tour or anything, as other bands have done in the past, without him."
In a separate interview with Music Radar, Thayil was asked what would it take for him, drummer Matt Cameron and bassist Ben Shepherd to get access to the tapes of what was supposed to become SOUNDGARDEN's next album. "We don't know," he replied. "We've asked nicely, we've suggested that this will benefit all parties, if the band could just have these files, and we could finish the songs we were working on. But there seems to be some confusion amongst various parties as to what that would entail and how that works, and who that would benefit."
Cornell was pronounced dead on May 18, 2017 after being found unresponsive in his Detroit hotel room. SOUNDGARDEN had played a show earlier that evening. The 52-year-old had sedatives and an anxiety drug in his system, but died as a result of hanging himself.
The three remaining members of SOUNDGARDEN, along with METALLICA, FOO FIGHTERS and members of AUDIOSLAVE, performed together for the first time since Cornell's death at a benefit concert honoring the singer on January 16 at the Forum in Los Angeles.
SOUNDGARDEN is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.

This is the Reno show in its entirety, just how it went down on October 5th, 2018. We’re extremely proud of the fact that it's 100% live with absolutely no overdubs! It's not perfect but neither are we. As a collector myself, I wanted this limited-edition release to be very special. The vinyl is pressed on 180 grams, giving you the best audio quality possible, and is limited to 2500 copies worldwide. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did playing it."

Earlier this year, STONE SOUR bassist Johny Chow confirmed to Meltdown of Detroit, Michigan's WRIF 101.1 FM radio station that the band has commenced the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2017's "Hydrograd" album.
STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor told Australia's Heavy magazine in 2018 that he and his bandmates started writing new music "pretty much as soon as we got on the road" in support of "Hydrograd". "We just can't be stopped; we're just gluttons for punishment at this point," he said. "But the cool thing is that knowing that we've got all this great material, we can kind of enjoy the rest as much as we can because we know that when it's time to really start kind of ramping up the demo machine, we're gonna have all this cool stuff to listen to. There's no pressure for us to just run right in."
Taylor, who stepped away from STONE SOUR in 2019 to focus on SLIPKNOT, said that the former band's absence from the touring circuit "will allow the audience to miss [STONE SOUR], which is the best thing in the world you can have — that built-in need for a band to come back. Just when you think you can't wait any longer, here comes this band and they're, like, 'Oh, goddamn, they're so good right now.' So we're pretty stoked, man. We're definitely looking forward to trying to see if we can top 'Hydrograd'."
"Hydrograd" was released as a deluxe edition in August 2018. The two-disc set, "Hydrograd Deluxe Edition", collects unreleased covers, b-sides, live recordings and alternate versions of songs from "Hydrograd". The deluxe edition is highlighted by "Burn One Turn One", a previously unreleased b-side from "Hydrograd". "Hydrograd Deluxe Edition" features 13 rare or unreleased songs including an acoustic version of the No. 1 rock song "Song #3", as well as covers of hits from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, SOUNDGARDEN and VAN HALEN. | +2

LIV KRISTINE To Release New Single Written With Former THEATRE OF TRAGEDY Bandmate TOMMY OLSSON
Former Leaves' Eyes / Theatre of Tragedy vocalist Liv Kristine is featured in a new interview with Spain's Empire Zone. Following is an excerpt from the intimate conversation.
Q: Let’s talk about your new songs. “Skylight” will be the first single of your new album. What can you tell me about this song?
Liv: "It was composed by Tommy Olsson (Theatre of Tragedy) a while ago and he sent it to me. We’ve been exchanging ideas for a while now, actually since the beginning of 2016. I love his ideas and what really inspires me in his songs is that he leaves enough space for me to develop my melodies and lyrics. It’s like going with a magic flow. I have ideas all the time. 'Skylight' was recorded vocally at Tommy’s studio in August this year. We both are really happy about what we’ve created together. Moreover, I am sure that this song will be enjoyed by my audience. 'Gravity' is the second composition on the Nagold special edition single. For all of you who love Aégis of Theatre of Tragedy and my last solo album, Vervain, both tracks will inspire you!"
Read the complete interview here.
Speaking with Cryptic Rock in 2018, Liv opened up about her messy 2016 split from Leaves' Eyes and discussed joining her sister Carmen's band, Midnattsol. Following is an excerpt from the interview.
CR: You spent thirteen years with Leaves’ Eyes where you were arguably the center of that band. When you left, was there ever a moment’s hesitation as to what you would do next, musically? Did you need to take any time to regroup, or were you more inspired than ever to forge onward?
Liv Kristine: "At first, I was devastated as the whole situation was unbearable for me, especially because everything happened without any warning. My life fell apart on all levels, professional and private, and I had to deal with the problems of other people that hit me as a woman and my family badly.
On a professional level, I had to start all anew. I think the whole decision of replacing me 'all of a sudden' and continuing with the band was not the right decision. Why not just choose another band name and change the band’s concept? The Viking concept of Leaves’ Eyes was brought to life due to my own history and heritage. As soon as I got the news that Elina would replace me and that she was ready for touring with Leaves’ Eyes, I just hoped that they would change the name of the band and come up with their own new concept in case of a new album.
My urge and power to move on has always been there and will always be a strong force in me. As already said above, I have the best fans in the world! Most of my fan club leaders gather in Nagold, Germany, every December, at my yearly special show where we all sit together. I feel such a strong connection to my fans, and the support I have gotten over the years is absolutely amazing and I am forever grateful. 2016 and 2017 were years of connecting to other artists, bands, and projects, like Tanzwut, Eluveitie, Orden Organ, Cradle of Filth, The Sabbathian, and finally Midnattsol, moreover, it was important for me to strengthen the status of my own solo band."

FACE WITHOUT FEAR Feat. Former STATIC-X Guitarist TRIPP EISEN: 'Deliverance' Video
The official video for the song "Deliverance" from FACE WITHOUT FEAR, the new industrial rock band featuring ex-STATIC-X and DOPE guitarist Tripp Eisen, can be seen below. The clip was shot over two days in Middletown, New Jersey. It features the debut of FACE WITHOUT FEAR's new bassist Nick Sledge who hails from New Jersey, as does the rest of the band: Kenny "Mantis" Hoyt (CRUSHPILE) on vocals, T.J. Cooke (METHODICAL) on drums, and Dante on guitar.
The first demo of "Deliverance" dates back to Tripp's time in STATIC-X, and, with Kenny's help, it's been updated and supercharged. The vocalist says: "It's about bearing your soul, allowing your true identity to be seen by others, and the vulnerability that goes along with it."
Formed in 2017 by Eisen, FACE WITHOUT FEAR draws you in with gritty-yet-polished guitar work, electronic sampling, and metal vocals infused with surprisingly refined melodic phrasing. In their lyrics, the concepts of individualism, liberty and freedom, as well as the universal experience with human relationships encompass their lyrics. The band also takes inspiration from the conceptual and futuristic world of Ayn Rand, and is where the band's name is drawn from ("Atlas Shrugged: Part II", Chapter 9: "A face that bore no mark of pain or fear... It was a face that had nothing to hide or to escape, a face with no fear…")
FACE WITHOUT FEAR has flavors of Tripp's previous projects along with elements of rock, metal and punk. The product is an industrial, nu-metal, groove-oriented mix.
FACE WITHOUT FEAR's live show features an album's worth of original material, plus a few treats for fans of Tripp's previous projects as well as a few dynamic updated covers by such artists at THE BEATLES, RAMONES and MISFITS.
FACE WITHOUT FEAR made its live debut this past August at QXT's in Newark, New Jersey. Eisen first made his return to the live stage in October 2016 with his hair-metal band ROUGHHOUSE and they've played handful of headlining shows, as well as opening for STEEL PANTHER, among others.
Eisen — whose real name is Tod Rex Salvador — has kept a relatively low profile for more than a decade since serving time for two statutory sex offenses in 2005.
In October, Eisen issued a statement that attempted to set the record straight about his involvement in the STATIC-X reunion and his music on the upcoming new album "Project Regeneration". The band has yet to publicly respond to Eisen's accusations.
FACE WITHOUT FEAR is preparing to release its second single, "My Parasite", before the end of the year. | 0

This was the follow-up to their acclaimed 2016 concept album "The Similitude Of A Dream", and shortly after, the band embarked on a European headline tour. "The Great Adventour - Live in Brno 2019" documents these shows, which saw them performing the album in full, and closing with the renowned "The Great Medley" — featuring tracks from across Neal's solo career and each NEAL MORSE BAND album.
Available as a 2CD + 2Blu-ray digipak, the set also features two tour documentaries from both the U.S. and European runs, as well as the official music videos for the singles taken from "The Great Adventure".

01. Intro

As Randy George explains: "After the 'Similitude' tour, expectations were really high, and we had more people coming to these shows than ever before. People were really excited to see it, so we had to make sure that we delivered."
Performing "The Great Adventure" flawlessly and in its entirety 47 times in 2019, Morse, Portnoy, George, Hubauer and Gillette brought audiences to their feet night after exhilarating night. "The tour delivered every night. We never got tired of playing it, and it always paid off," says George.
One of the countries was the Czech Republic, and it was there in Brno that the band chose to film "The Great Adventour 2019 - Live In Brno", the definitive record of the tour, as George explains: "This was our first time playing in the Czech Republic and this venue had a different look and vibe: the audience also turned out to be very energetic. They loved it!"
"The Great Adventour - Live In Brno 2019" shows THE NEAL MORSE BAND at the very height of their powers: extraordinary, passionate, intense and intricate rock music played to perfection by five masters of their craft, backed by dramatic video illustrations by Christian Rios. | +2

METALLICA And GUNS N' ROSES Are Among World's Top-Earning Musicians Of 2019, According To FORBES
METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES are among the world's top-earning musicians of 2019, according to Forbes.
On Friday (December 6) the outlet a published a report that revealed METALLICA earned $68.5 million this year, landing the the No. 10 spot on the Forbes list of Highest-Earning Musicians. GUNS N' ROSES came in at No. 25, with 2019 earnings of $44 million.
To determine its rankings, Forbes considers income from touring, music and outside business ventures with the help of Pollstar, Nielsen Music and interviews with industry insiders, including many of the stars themselves. Forbes's list measures pretax earnings and does not deduct fees for agents, managers or lawyers.
Earlier this week, Billboard reported that METALLICA was the highest-ranked hard rock act on the magazine's year-end Boxscore chart, with a combined gross of $177 million from 46 reported concerts during the band's ongoing "WorldWired" tour. The band sold 1.7 million tickets around the world during the 12-month time frame that determined the chart's rankings.
GUNS N' ROSES' "Not In This Lifetime" tour is believed to be the third-highest-grossing tour of all time, having generated more than $580 million since it began three and a half years ago.
Launched in April 2016, "Not in This Lifetime" features classic-lineup members Slash, Duff McKagan and singer Axl Rose backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.

TWISTED SISTER’s Dee Snider Says “All Four Surviving AC/DC Members Have Reunited With Tracks Recorded By Malcolm (Young) While He Was Still Alive”
Let the gossip begin! While we still wait for an official announcement from AC/DC about the band's status, Twisted Sister singer has piped in with a brief update on Twitter as seen below. "All four surviving members (Angus Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd) have reunited WITH tracks recorded by Malcolm (Young) while he was still alive. Malcolm's nephew Stevie Young is replacing him (he's done this a couple of times before). It's as close as you can get to the original band."
AC/DC are expected to make a major announcement soon regarding their future. Meanwhile, in early November, AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams joined the Florida-based cover band 24 Carat on stage at a private party. Fan-filmed video from the set can be viewed on the official 24 Carat Facebook page here.
In early 2019, photographic evidence surfaced suggesting Williams is back in the AC/DC fold. Williams announced his retirement from the band in 2016.
Back in August 2018, news came down that AC/DC, along with vocalist Brian Johnson, had been working at Bryan Adams' Warehouse Studio in Vancouver with engineer Mike Fraser - who mixed and engineered the band's last three albums (Stiff Upper Lip, Black Ice and Rock Or Bust). Photos of Johnson, drummer Phil Rudd, and guitarists Angus Young and Stevie Young, were shot outside the studio, suggesting the band were at work on new music. But no sign of Williams at that time.
It was later confirmed that Johnson is indeed back with AC/DC, after US band Terrorizer, who ran into Brian at an airport in Sarasota, FL, posted: "We ran into Brian Johnson from ACDC at the airport today after the flight home and we asked him about the rumors of him being on the new ACDC album and he said "Yes" and that he is " Sick of denying it". So that was a cool surprise ending to the tour."
A photo surfaced online featuring Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams, alongside Canadian trainer Scott Frinskie, taken at a Vancouver hotel around the same time as the band members were spotted outside Warehouse Studio.

Eddie Trunk recently weighed in on the AC/DC situation via his SiriusXM. Check out his commentary below.
Eddie Trunk: "I have a source that will remain nameless but a very, very, well-placed, reliable source regarding AC/DC who I did run into (at NAMM) and asked about AC/DC. This source told me to his knowledge that album is done, that they went to that studio in Canada, made this record and what people speculated on, meaning these were riffs, ideas and more of a tribute to Malcolm Young is true. Meaning that Malcolm had a bunch of stuff recorded that they worked off of and they sort of incorporated the record. So, this is sort of a unity thing to come together, put out some of Malcolm’s music and celebrate AC/DC. He didn’t tell me about Axl (Rose) or who is on it, he just basically said: 'The guys went in, they went in off of some stuff that Malcolm had, it’s a celebration of Malcolm, there is a record done, whether and how that comes out they’re not sure and whether they play or not it’s not sure.'"
Stay tuned for updates.
