Watch JASTA's New Lyric Video For "They Want Your Soul" Feat. GEORGE "CORPSEGRINDER" FISHER
In 2019, Hatebreed vocalist Jamey Jasta released his second installment of The Lost Chapters, featuring an array of guests across the 12 metal and hardcore tracks. Today, Jasta is back with a lyric video for the album track, "They Want Your Soul featuring George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher", which can be viewed below.
Jasta comments to Apple Music: "I'm doing this melodic sort of metal chorus on this song, so I wanted to get the dynamic of the most brutal vocal in the verses. I reached out to George and he hit me right back. When he sent me the tracks, I was freaking out. I felt like a kid; when I booked my first Cannibal Corpse show with George in the band, it was the first tour that he did with them. His voice is just so brutal and has held up - if not gotten better - throughout the years. I was so psyched that he wanted to do it."
For The Lost Chapters, Volume 2, Jasta took inspiration from his Jasta Show podcast to create a record with the feel of a compilation. "I wanted to make it like a playlist," Jasta tells Apple Music. "The songs have vocalists from all different subgenres of metal, so they all sound completely different." Additionally, for the closing track - a cover of Megadeth's "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" - Jasta recruited guitarist Joey Concepcion as a special guest. See below for the complete tracklisting.
