Former JOURNEY singer Steve Perry has uploaded a video of him singing "In My Room", the BEACH BOYS' early classic from 1963.
Perry wrote in an accompanying message: "When I was a teenager in my room, this song gave me comfort. Stay safe, Steve"
Perry's first solo album in more than two decades, "Traces", was released in October 2018 via Fantasy Records (a division of Concord Records/UMG). He credited his late girlfriend, psychologist Kellie Nash, who died more than seven years ago, with helping him want to sing again; she'd made him promise he wouldn't go back into isolation when she passed.
Last year, Perry told "The Jim Brickman Show" that the response to "Traces" has been "really great. It's been an interesting experience to release a record in this age that we live in. Meaning, it's such a different landscape… Now we're streaming, now we've got everything… all this stuff. And so it's been such an interesting experience to release music into the new landscape of what it all means. We're streaming, we're still selling some on iTunes…. Nobody sells records anymore; everybody's streaming. But I didn't do this to sell records. If people wanna own it and take it with them, then that's beautiful. But if you wanna listen to it, that's also beautiful, 'cause all I wanted to do — and I said this to many of my friends… The reason I make music again was, number one, to keep a promise that I wouldn't go back into isolation. And number two, I wanted to just see if I was viable as a songwriter, singer, arranger, mixer, producer. I wanted to see if I could even remotely do some sort of creative involvement with all that. And in the beginning, it was challenging, because of the new technologies. But now I've embraced the living crap out of all of it. I have a great studio."
Perry dated Nash for nearly two years before she died in December 2012 after being diagnosed with breast cancer. He mourned for two years, and then began recording again.
Upon its release, "Traces" was met with wide acclaim and tremendous excitement from fans and critics all over the world. The album entered the Billboard 200 Albums chart at No. 6, Perry's highest debut as a solo artist and earned the Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer his best-ever chart entries in the U.K., Germany, Canada and Japan.
Perry reunited with JOURNEY for the first time in years as they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2017. The iconic singer appeared onstage with his former bandmates as they each gave speeches, but did not perform with the group later in the event.
Die Kreatur has released their latest single “Kälter als der Tod” (Eng: Colder Than Death), straight off the upcoming album Panoptikum, to be released via Napalm Records on May 22. The single draws the listener into an eerie world of want and lust. An ominous fusion of Gothic Rock and Neue Deutsche Härte, Dero Goi (Oomph!) and Chris Harms (Lord Of The Lost) present indelible guitar riffs and a smashing drum rhythm that underlines the overall blood-curdling atmosphere. A captivating chorus rounds off this sensational track that’s accompanied by an equally magnificent audiovisual.
Die Kreatur abducts the viewer into the sinister universe filled with vampires and their almost magnetic pull on humans. Prepare for a video filled with bloodshed, sensuality and a menacing vibe that will send shivers down your spine! Watch the official video for “Kälter als der Tod” below.
Die Kreatur on the new single: "‘Kälter als der Tod’ reflects the inclination of many young people to be attracted to danger and the consequent distancing from parental authority. The longing for the confrontation with transience and the resulting feeling of oneself and the preciousness of life are the main motives of this song. We paid special attention to the fear of parents who have difficulties releasing their grown-up children into a world that is inherently threatening. The supposed contradiction between fear and trust, freedom and compulsion, as well as personal responsibility and overprotection becomes apparent in this song.” - Dero Goi & Chris Harms
The Deluxe Box contains the exclusive Panoptikum 1920 CD, featuring recordings of all songs on the album in the style of the swinging Twenties, recorded only on an authentic piano, as well as two vocal microphones.
Die Kreatur about Panoptikum:
"Panoptikum comes up with a dark arc of suspense that takes the listener into the gloomy, winding alleys of the 1920s, where they meet freaks and creatures of all kinds. However, true evil awaits them not in the hideous creatures on display at Panoptikum, but behind the stuffy façade of the normal, respectable citizen that delights in their gruesome appearance. Panoptikum is the ruthless reflection of a decadent, self-indulgent and sated society. Will we be able to bear our own cruel face?” - Dero Goi & Chris Harms

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has launched the first episode of its "Quarantine Theater 2020" series. Taking inspiration from "Mystery Science Theater 3000", it features frontman Ivan Moody, guitarist Zoltan Bathory and bassist Chris Kael offering commentary on the band's past music videos.
Kicking off the series is the clip for "Under And Over It", with new episodes set to follow every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
According to the band, "Quarantine Theater 2020" will consist of "tell-all, behind the scenes, never before told stories of the making and meaning of 5FDP's music videos."
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's latest album, "F8", was released on February 28. The follow-up to 2018's "And Justice For None" caps a turbulent period for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in which Moody finally got sober after a near-fatal struggle with addiction, while co-founding drummer Jeremy Spencer bowed out of the band due to physical issues.
Much of "F8"'s lyrical content deals with Moody's battle with addiction, its aftermath and his recovery. The singer celebrated two years of sobriety last month.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's spring tour with PAPA ROACH, I PREVAIL and ICE NINE KILLS has been postponed and rescheduled for the fall. The trek was originally due to run from April 8 to May 20, but will now kick off on September 28 in Sunrise, Florida.

A visualizer for "Cry Of The Serafim", the third track taken from Naglfar's new album, Cerecloth, out May 8, is available for streaming below.
Says the band: With ‘Cry Of The Serafim’ we wanted to explore a heavier and darker sound. Trying to create something different from what we usually do, while still keeping the Naglfar spirit intact."
It has been a long eight year stretch between releases for Umeå, Sweden’s black metal nihilists Naglfar, but despite the eight year wait, the band hasn’t been resting on their laurels.
Like any slumbering beast, Naglfar have returned from their respite ferocious and hungry with their seventh full length album, Cerecloth, which is due for a worldwide release on May 8. Recorded and mixed by Naglfar guitarist Marcus Norman at Wolf’s Lair Studio, and mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound, the underlying musical and lyrical themes of Cerecloth were succinctly and confidently described by guitarist Andreas Nilsson: “The usual death and destruction.”
Judging from Andreas’ curt description, and the grim, ghostly cover art from the renowned artist Kristian Wåhlin and layout by Seiya Ogino of Ogino Design certain death is exactly what Cerecloth holds within.

Hard rockers Signal 13 have premiered their new single and video for “Dirty” through BraveWords!
Vocalist Vick Starr comments on the single:
“‘Dirty’ started out as a song about hard-working people trying to get ahead. Eventually it morphed into things that happen with the band – from corrupt business practices and people who have done us dirty. The song basically says ‘Hey, we’re still standing and working hard. We’re not going to let anyone get in our way.’ We want to prove that hard work and persistence pays off. Then we added a little sex appeal because it’s always fun to get down and dirty and be sexy.
“When we write, I generally come in with the lyrics, but we all get involved with the music. We try to stay in our own lane but usually end up in a collision! We discovered that’s when we write our best stuff! What makes us a great writing team is that we’re not afraid to tell each other what we like or don’t like. We’re brutally honest with one another.
“When it came time to make a video for the track, we went to an old pipe bending factory from the late 1800s. Our roots are blue collar and we shot the video in the heart of what used to be the center of the steel industry in Baltimore. We knew this was the place for our first video – it was dirty, gritty, and reflects the blue-collar, working-class heart of America.”
Signal 13 is a contemporary rock band that is paying homage to the classic rock sound. Their Destination Unknown EP is out today. The EP is available for preorder, with preorder packs including a signed physical compact disc, exclusive limited t-shirt, guitar picks, keychains, pins and more.
Formed in Baltimore, the band is led by front-woman, Vicky Starr and joined by guitarists Johnathan Lassiter and Chris Starr, bassist Patrick Jenkins, and drummer Johnny Sexx. We sat together and jammed writing different pieces of music on the release,” explains Vicky. “When we write together, I think of it as a ‘musical fusion’ the way we pull it together. When we recorded ‘Karma,’ I acted more like a conductor without a baton. I would stop everyone, rearrange and then have them start again. I forgot that we had live mics on the drums and I was dancing around and singing along with the song. Sometimes the excitement is overwhelming and hard to contain.”
And with the focus of the band being on front-woman Vicky, it turns out that she is a multi-talented force within Signal 13, according to Chris. “Vicky has a process for lyrics and she is always writing. She has lyrics for a few hundred songs already written. It’s hard for the rest of us to keep up – she’s a writing machine. A few times while we’re recording, she left the studio and went and sat on a cinder block that was in the laundry room and wrote lyrics. She wrote a few songs like that…it’s become a kind of magic cinder block – it’s her strange concrete muse.”
They recently shot a video for their kick-off single, “Dirty.” “We went for the ‘less is more for sure’ on the set for this video,” said Johnathan. “The only thing we probably didn’t need more of was actual dirt! We filmed at a pipe bending factory that has some historical ties to the band. Vicky’s Grandfather was involved in the water systems of the infrastructure of Baltimore and she grew up spending time with him traveling the city. The location of the video was a very blue-collar suburb of working-class America and is deeply connected to the band as a whole. It seemed to fit the style and song not to mention, you can never have too much pyro in rock and roll?!” Drummer, Johnny Sexx’s recollections of the video are succinct - “It was cold and definitely DIRTY!”
“’Dirty’ is one of those songs that will have different meanings to the listener,” stated Chris. “Initially it was about working hard and getting your hands dirty, but as the song developed, it became more about ‘dirty’ politicians or corrupt business people with no moral compass. Then there’s the sexual theme, which may be what some folks will think it’s about, but there is much more to it if you listen to the lyrics.”
The gentleman who mastered the EP, Greg Lukens, also added a certain special something to the recording. According to Jonathan, “Spending time with Greg was a huge learning process and outright amazing. When I read his credits, all the artist he’s worked with, Grammy nods and Platinum/Gold records I was intrigued. But when we sat down and started working the material I was in amazement! I’ve been fortunate to spend time with a ton of great people and engineers but Greg is in a class of his own – great accomplishments, a wealth of knowledge and a super humble individual as well as incredibly funny. He told us stories about how Neil Peart and Keith Moon used to tune their kits after complimenting Johnny (Sexx) on his drum sound. Johnny and I tuned his kit by ear and Neil used a guitar tuner while Keith used a tuning fork. Pretty awesome company to be mentioned in the same setting with by someone who worked with them. We kept the project open and really wanted an analog vibe to capture the essence of each song. I believe his mastering expertise helped push the EP over the finish line while not changing the fundamental vision.”

British rock band, Vega, will release their new album, Grit Your Teeth, on June 12 via Frontier Music Srl. Pre-order the album here and watch a video for the track "(I Don't Need) Perfection" below. The song is out now on all digital platforms.
Buckle up and hold tight, Vega are back with the album of their career. Grit Your Teeth will take you to screaming highs and gritty lows. It'll keep you coming back for more.
Says the band's lead singer and frontman, Nick Workman, "Selfishly, we've taken a few risks by recording an album, that, first and foremost, we can be proud of. Don't try and tag it with any sub-genre of rock or metal, just enjoy it."
"Nick's right, says Vega's keyboardist, James Martin. "We set out to do something different on this album. We wanted to stand out from the rest of the pack."
"The band agreed on making a more modern sounding and edgy record," reflects Vega's drummer, Martin Hutchinson. "I think we definitely achieved that."
"I think it's our best album yet," adds guitarist Mikey Kew.
If the last album, Only Human, was a commentary of what was going on our lives. The new album is very much a reflection of those times and the outcomes. It's a very positive album in its overall message, but it also has a lot of dark moments. It was very therapeutic for the band to write and record the album.
Vega's love for love rock from the 80's and early 90's shines through without rehashing it. Their inspiration comes from the 80's and 90's (they even have a Miami Vice drum roll), however, the album also draws inspiration from other places, and dragged into 2020.
Vega wrote the album from January 2019 until they started recording in August 2019. The album was recorded in an industrial unit in York with the Graves Brothers who have previously produced Asking Alexandria. That is more the "metal" side of the album and was a perfect fit for Vega as they wanted to blend melody and hooks with power.
"Joe and Sam Graves did a great job producing the album. They knew exactly what the band were trying to achieve," says Workman. Tracking finished by September 2019. Mixing and mastering was completed before Christmas.
Says Vega's bass player, Tom Martin, "This is stadium rock for 2020."

KANSAS, America's legendary progressive rock band, will release its highly anticipated new studio album, "The Absence Of Presence", on June 26 via InsideOut Music.
The official music video for the disc's new single, "Throwing Mountains", can be seen below.
"'Throwing Mountains' might be one of the heaviest songs KANSAS has ever recorded," comments KANSAS guitarist Zak Rizvi, "At over six minutes long, I like to consider it a bit of a KANSAS mini-epic." Rizvi wrote the music for the song with lyrics by KANSAS keyboardist Tom Brislin and drummer Phil Ehart.
Brislin says: "It's very straight forward, 'get your confidence going, take on any obstacle, conquer the world' song. It's pretty timely in the world today."
"The song is so much fun to play," adds KANSAS bassist Billy Greer. "The riff is like 'Thunder Of The Gods' but dynamic at the same time."
Billboard.com first announced the new album during an exclusive interview with KANSAS drummer and "The Absence Of Presence" co-producer Phil Ehart.
"The Absence Of Presence" follows-up 2016's "The Prelude Implicit", which debuted at No. 14 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart.
"We are really excited for our fans to be able to get a taste of what is to come from 'The Absence Of Presence'," says KANSAS lead vocalist Ronnie Platt. "I think people will really be surprised by the album. 'The Absence Of Presence' shows the band firing on all cylinders."
KANSAS has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, and is famous for classic hits such as "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust In The Wind" to the progressive epic "Song For America".
"The Absence Of Presence" features nine all-new tracks written by the band, produced by Zak Rizvi, and co-produced by Phil Ehart and Richard Williams.
KANSAS's signature sound is unmistakable throughout. The album showcases Ronnie Platt's towering vocals, David Ragsdale's searing violin, Tom Brislin's dazzling keyboards, Williams and Rizvi's electrifying guitar riffs, Ehart's powerful drums, and Billy Greer's rocking bass.
"We are really proud of the album 'The Absence Of Presence'," comments KANSAS guitarist, producer, and songwriter Zak Rizvi. "Making a new KANSAS album sets a very high musical standard that is expected from our fans. From rockers, to progressive epics, to ballads, there is something on this recording for everybody."
"The Absence Of Presence" will be available on CD, double LP 180-gram vinyl, limited-edition deluxe CD + 5.1 Blu-ray artbook, and digitally on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and all other streaming services.
THREE DAYS GRACE, the internationally acclaimed and multi-platinum certified Canadian band, has released the official Take A Bow Productions-directed music video for the song "Strange Days". The track is taken from THREE DAYS GRACE's latest album, "Outsider", which came out in 2018.

"We hope these strange days are over soon and until then please stay safe and look out for one another."
Last year, THREE DAYS GRACE extended its record for the most No. 1s in the 38-year history of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart, with "Right Left Wrong" its 15th No. 1 single on the tally. With this latest achievement, the band pushed further ahead of runners-up SHINEDOWN and VAN HALEN, each with 13.
"Right Left Wrong" is featured on "Outsider", THREE DAYS GRACE's sixth full-length album and fifth consecutive Top 40-charting LP on the Billboard Top 200.

Since they first started, Sorcerer have been labeled "epic doom" - a tag that fits but does not define them, and this has never been more evident than on their third full-length, Lamenting Of The Innocent. On this record, the Swedish quintet return with a revamped lineup that includes longstanding guitarists Kristian Niemann and Peter Hallgren plus vocalist Anders Engberg, joined by bassist Justin Biggs and former drummer Richard Evensand - both of whom bring something new and fresh to Sorcerer. This time around, the band let their influences shine through, breaking up the epic doom with flavors of prog, post-metal, classic heavy metal and hard rock. The track "Deliverance" also features a guest appearance: Johan Langquist of Candlemass and renowned Swedish cellist Svante Henryson.
Sorcerer comments: "They truly brought another dimension to that song and now it's impossible to imagine it without their contributions, which is the way it should be when you bring guests in to perform; they are there to provide something you couldn't do on your own."
Producing the album themselves, the band are self-confessed hardcore perfectionists who will accept nothing but the absolute best in every aspect of the recording process. The only collaborators involved in the making of Lamenting Of The Innocent were Ronnie Björnström, who both mixed and mastered the album, and Conny Welén who contributed to the songwriting.
Sorcerer adds: "We play music that relates to when we grew up, with bands like Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and such. They are all influences and we like to build that dramatic touch into our music. It's important for us to create a feeling in the song that will take you, maybe, to another world or a fantasy place somewhere, and the bands we grew up with are the masters of this. By the same token we are also influenced by more contemporary acts and their approach to arrangements and orchestration. Inspiration can come from anywhere, but we all know when we've captured that 'Sorcerer sound'. It feels like home."

Melodic death metal band, Aether Realm, recently announced the upcoming release of their new, multi-faceted full-length album, Redneck Vikings From Hell, out May 1 via Napalm Records. With their new album, the band improves upon their already distinctive sound that’s been astonishing fans since day one - taking listeners on a stupefying rollercoaster ride of death metal, thrash and even neo-classical shred.
Today, Aether Realm has revealed a third single from Redneck Vikings From Hell - the cinematic, introspective ballad, "Guardian". The track cements the band's versed songwriting talents, proving just how undeniably multi-talented Aether Realm is. Its stunning accompanying visualizer video's concept and animation were created by CHURCH GRiM (@churchgrimart).
Frontman Vincent "Jake" Jones says about the track: "Sometimes you write a song because it’s the song you want to hear, but sometimes you write a song because it’s the song you need. I wound up living on a couch most of the time this album was being put together. For a lot of that time, it was uncertain whether I was on the “right” path - whether I was wasting my friends' and my own time pursuing music as hard as we were. One night I was feeling particularly down, and I just started writing the things I wished someone would say to me in that moment. I felt a little better afterwards. I hope it’ll do that for someone else who needs it."
Redneck Vikings From Hell not only cements Aether Realm as a band to watch, but will also have listeners questioning just what exactly they can’t do. Each track on Redneck Vikings From Hell is entirely distinct, setting the stage by playing upon the band’s southern roots with the banjo-laden epic folk metal-inspired title track “Redneck Vikings From Hell”. Meanwhile, the first single “Goodbye” and center-cuts like the thrashy, unwavering “Lean Into The Wind”, the powerful anthem “Hunger” and symphonic brutality banger “Slave To The Riff” provide a weightier sample of the unconventional stylings of Aether Realm 3.0. Otherworldly closing track “Craft And The Creator” drives it all home, showcasing each individual band member's infallible technical skills and featuring hair-raising leads that would make any guitar god blush. The album is strung together by colossal orchestral elements that lift the band to new heights.
In addition to being produced and mixed by Kile Odell (Motionless in White, Cane Hill), mastered by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, The Contortionist, Scale The Summit) and featuring orchestration by Ben Turk of Gloryhammer, Redneck Vikings From Hell features a treasure trove of fantastic special musical guests, including guitarist/banjoist Wayne Ingram (Wilderun), guitarist Greg Burgess (Allegaeon), Eric W. Brown (Nekrogoblikon, Vale of Pnath, Swashbuckle, Rainbowdragoneyes) and vocalist Josh Rieke of YouTube fame. The album also features contributions from voice actress Erica Lindbeck (Final Fantasy VII remake), harpist Amy Turk (sister of Ben Turk), vocalist Michael Rumple (Ashen Idol, Flood District), vocalist Zach Williams (Dead Eyes) and returning Aether Realm guest vocalist and sister of Vincent "Jake" Jones, Elly Jones.
Redneck Vikings From Hell will be available in the following formats:

May 22 will see the release of FM's twelfth studio album, Synchronized, via Frontiers Music Srl. Today, the band has released a music video for the new song, "Superstar". Watch below, and pre-order the album on CD/LP/Digital here.
Founded in 1984 when singer Steve Overland and his brother, guitarist Chris (both formerly of Wildlife) teamed up with drummer Pete Jupp (ex-Wildlife and Samson) and bassist Merv Goldsworthy (ex-Diamond Head and Samson), the guys were soon joined by Didge Digital on keyboards and by December of that year they had secured a recording contract with CBS/Portrait and headed to Germany for a run of dates with Meat Loaf.
Further tours with Tina Turner, Foreigner, and Gary Moore built their momentum and on September 8, 1986 FM released their debut album Indiscreet (featuring the hugely popular single "Frozen Heart") to great critical acclaim. The year ended on a high with FM supporting the white-hot Bon Jovi on their Slippery When Wet tour.
For the next nine years, FM consolidated their position at the forefront of British melodic rock, touring extensively as headliners and also joining bands such as Status Quo and Whitesnake on tours to promote releases such as 1989's Tough It Out, 1991’s Takin' It To The Streets (with Andy Barnett on guitar replacing the now-departed Chris Overland); 1992’s Aphrodisiac and what was to be their 'final' album, 1995's Dead Man's Shoes with new recruit Jem Davis (Tobruk, UFO) on keyboards.
In 2007 - after a 12 year sabbatical - FM were persuaded to return to the stage for a 'one-off' headline performance at a sold-out Firefest IV at Nottingham Rock City. The rapturous reception from the fans at Firefest led to FM quickly making the decision to record a new album and following a return to Firefest in 2009, in March 2010 FM released their much-anticipated sixth studio album, Metropolis, with Jim Kirkpatrick replacing Andy Barnett on lead guitar.
The band haven't stopped since! Headline tours both in the UK and overseas, Special Guest slots touring with the likes of Foreigner, Journey, Thin Lizzy, Heart, Saxon and Skid Row, festival appearances including Download, Planet Rockstock, Sweden Rock, Graspop, Steelhouse Festival, Frontiers Rock Festival, Ramblin' Man Fair and in 2018 their first-ever live show in the US at Melodic Rock Fest 5.
When not touring, FM have been busy in the studio and since their 2010 'comeback' album they have released 2013’s Rockville and Rockville 2, Heroes And Villains in 2015 and Atomic Generation in 2018 along with Indiscreet 30 - a re-recorded version of their debut album - and The Italian Job live CD/DVD.

HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD's official music video for the song "Nightmare", can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's sixth full-length studio album, "New Empire, Vol. 1", which was released on February 14 via Dove & Grenade Media/BMG.
HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD stated about the "Nightmare" clip, which was shot in quarantine: "Nightmares are defined as dreams that bring out strong feelings of fear, terror, distress or anxiety. They feel more vivid or intense than a bad dream, and nightmares are often differentiated from dreams when they cause the sleeper to actually wake up and experience intense feelings upon waking."
"New Empire, Vol. 1" features fiery, high-energy tracks that reveal HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD embracing a heavier, hard-rock sound with this effort, not to mention sharpening their signature sound to knifepoint precision on the nine songs, with guest vocals from Kellin Quinn (SLEEPING WITH SIRENS) on "Upside Down", and GOOD CHARLOTTE's Benji Madden on "Second Chances".
Vocalist-bassist-guitarist Johnny 3 Tears told Billboard about "New Empire, Vol. 1": "In the past, we have built on what we had done on the previous album — little transitions and little progressions. On this album, we tried to pretend we had never made a record before. We made a concerted effort to take it back to ground zero, as if we just got a record contract. Like, what would we write had we never released any music? 'New Empire' is the product of that outlook."
Regarding HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD's musical direction, Johnny 3 Tears said: "I consider us industrial hip-hop — an amalgamation of NINE INCH NAILS and THE BEASTIE BOYS. There are rock elements, but it's more geared toward industrial sounds. We use a lot of 808, a lot of programmed beats along with live drums. But it's all open to interpretation."
BPMD — the new heavy metal juggernaut featuring vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth (OVERKILL), drummer Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, SONS OF APOLLO), bassist Mark Menghi (METAL ALLEGIANCE) and guitarist Phil Demmel (VIO-LENCE, ex-MACHINE HEAD) — will release its debut album, "American Made", on June 12 via Napalm Records. The 10-track homage to some of rock music's greatest treasures is turbocharged by the experience and enthusiasm of its four creators, and its first single, "Toys In The Attic" — an AEROSMITH classic just begging for a heavy reimagining — is only the first boisterous sliver of proof.
The "Toys In The Attic" video was directed by Victor Borachuk of JupiterReturn, with art direction and motion design by Natália Tanus and Leonardo Gill. Watch the clip below.
Blitz says about "Toys In The Attic": "I remember waaaaaaaaaaay back when OVERKILL formed, we were cutting our teeth on covers as I was finding my way around the mic. The AEROSMITH covers were right in my wheelhouse, so when Mike picked 'Toys' to cover, I was like... 'Hell Yea'!"
Demmel adds about recording the track: "It was tricky because AEROSMITH have two guitarists, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, playing different things. So, as one guitar player, I had to pick a medium place between the two that sounded good. I thrashed it up a little by adding a lot of down picking and some gallops and triplets."
It's evident within the initial seconds of BPMD's "American Made", as Blitz chants the introductory lyrics to Ted Nugent's "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" in his signature skyscraper-high howl, that he and his equally iconic bandmates are here to have a damn good time. Featuring 10 unforgettable rock classics reimagined as heavy bangers, "American Made" is a party on wax. Tracks such as the raucous "Toys In The Attic" and rager-ready "Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers" (ZZ TOP) prove that BPMD not only manages to capture the essence of each original track on the album, but skillfully transforms each classic into an unforgettable metallic anthem for a new age. The seasoned quartet flex their musical muscles on renowned classics such as "Saturday Night Special" (LYNYRD SKYNYRD), "We're An American Band" (GRAND FUNK RAILROAD) and "Walk Away" (JAMES GANG), and introduce a whole new heavy generation to deeper cuts like blues standard "Evil" (CACTUS, WILLIE DIXON) and "Never In My Life" (MOUNTAIN). Channeling nostalgia while maintaining a fresh attitude, "American Made" is a summer soundtrack for all ages.
Menghi remarks on BPMD's origins: "Last summer, right after the Fourth of July, I was sitting in my backyard. I was listening to a bunch of '70s stuff and LYNYRD SKYNYRD's 'Saturday Night Special' came on. I said, 'Man, I would love to play that song,' and my eight-year-old son turned to me and said, 'You should do a record of all these songs, Dad.' And I was like, 'Hmmm? Yeah, why not!?!'"
After connecting over their mutual love for the classics and forming their current line-up, the members of BPMD traveled to Portnoy's home studio in Pennsylvania and set up shop. Since the whole concept of the band was born the night Menghi was listening to "Saturday Night Special", BPMD were determined to record the song for the album. Beyond that, each musician picked two '70s rock tracks and everyone had to learn them!
Menghi chose "Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers" in addition to "Saturday Night Special". Blitz's choices were a little more obscure — "Never In My Life" replete with cowbell and a blazing repeated blues lick, and CACTUS's version of "Evil", a fiercely ZEPPELIN-like take on an old Willie Dixon song. For his tracks, Demmel picked "D.O.A." and had a blast channeling his inner Eddie Van Halen, and took a deep dive with "Tattoo Vampire". Recalling the days when Ted Nugent was more of a bad boy than a gunslinger, Portnoy picked "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang", in additon to "Toys In The Attic".
Menghi, who also co-produced "American Made", adds: "We didn't go into it trying to make everything metal, we just wanted to play the way we play and this is what you get... we've all been influenced by a wide variety of bands including BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN and METALLICA. So, of course, we're going to attack the songs a little harder than guys that didn't grow up on heavy music."
Blitz states: "We made sure we did high-quality versions of these songs and gave them all a little twist. I think there's a place for that in the music world today. There's something really great about nostalgia, especially if it's reimagined."
"American Made" was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis, also known for his work with METAL ALLEGIANCE (featuring Menghi and Portnoy), as well as artists such as DEVILDRIVER, TRIVIUM, and many others.

A DAY TO REMEMBER has released an animated music video for a new song, "Mindreader". The track is expected to appear on the band's upcoming album, "You're Welcome", due later in the year. The clip was animated by Awesome, Inc. ("Aqua Teen Hunger Force", "Squidbillies").
Frontman Jeremy McKinnon commented: "We've had this video done for some time now, and seeing as how our album isn't out yet and the state of the world is keeping us off the road, we wanted to get some new material out there for our fans as soon as possible.
"This song was one of my personal favorites off the new album from the day it was written. I wrote it with the incredibly talented Mike Green. Fun fact, it was the first song I've ever sent the guys in the band that was unanimously loved," McKinnon elaborated. "This song was written to be a lighthearted take on people in relationships expecting their partners to read their minds."
Five months ago, A DAY TO REMEMBER guitarist Kevin Skaff told the WSOU radio station that "You're Welcome" was very close to being finished.
"It got pushed back because the art for the record isn't done yet," he said back in November. "We still can't find a good cover for the record. I know it doesn't really matter nowadays, with streaming and everything, but we just everything to be perfect before it comes out. And there are still a couple of songs that are still getting mixed that we just need to find the right mixer. It's only getting pushed back — what? — two [or] two and a half months, so it's not too bad. It's not like a Kanye [West] thing where it's never gonna come out."
Speaking about the musical direction of "You're Welcome", Kevin said: "It's a longer album. There's gonna be a bunch of songs on it… I think there's a little something for everybody on it."
Regarding A DAY TO REMEMBER's decision to sign with Fueled By Ramen — marking the band's first move back to a label since leaving Victory Records nearly 10 years ago — Kevin said: "It was cool, man. It was time for us. We were actually at liberty, legally, to sign with somebody else. And everyone at Fueled has been our friends for years — we've known a lot of them for a long time — and it just felt super comfortable and super easy just to transition the train into Fueled By Ramen. And they've been nothing but great to us literally ever since we got there. I know we just started, but it's been awesome."
Last November, A DAY TO REMEMBER unleashed the "Resentment" single. The band also shared an official music video for the song, directed by Jeb Hardwick. "Resentment" followed "You're Welcome"'s lead single, "Degenerates", which was released in August ahead of A DAY TO REMEMBER's main-stage performances at the U.K.'s Reading and Leeds festivals. Prior to the release of "Degenerates", A DAY TO REMEMBER surprised fans when the band was featured on Marshmello's single "Rescue Me", marking the group's first new music since 2016's acclaimed "Bad Vibrations".
Last month, A DAY TO REMEMBER postponed its previously announced European tour dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We've made the difficult decision to postpone our upcoming UK and Europe tour," the group said in a statement. "We hate it had to come to this, but for the safety of everyone involved, we feel it's the right move. We take the safety of our fans very seriously, and with current recommendations to avoid large groups and the uncertainty of how long these circumstances will last, we thought it was best to postpone the tour."
A DAY TO REMEMBER is: Jeremy McKinnon (vocals), Alex Shelnutt (drums), Kevin Skaff (guitar, vocals), Neil Westfall (guitar, vocals) and Joshua Woodard (bass).
PIERCE THE VEIL has shared the quarantine version of the fan favorite song "Hold On Till May".
Watch the powerful rendition and the band's message of hope during the current COVID-19 pandemic below.
"We wanted to let you guys know that we are with you through this difficult time," the band says. "Thank you to our hospital workers, our essential workers, and to everyone fighting to put an end to this pandemic. Our hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones or have been affected by the virus. We WILL beat this together. Love you guys so much!"
PIERCE THE VEIL's latest album, "Misadventures", came out in 2016. Lyrically , the disc, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, is a flood of emotions, recently revealed truths and reflections of new realities — the suicide of a past love, the Paris terror attacks, the online intimidation of a girlfriend by crazed fans, self-worth and an individual's ability to shine, and the challenge of a cunning betrayal.
PIERCE THE VEIL is Vic Fuentes (guitar, vocals), Jaime Preciado (bass), Tony Perry (guitar) and Mike Fuentes (drums).
Last week, Finnish heavy melodic death metal unit, Wolfheart, released their new full-length Winter War epic, Wolves Of Karelia, via Napalm Records.
Quickly following up on the album's release, the band has revealed a brand new video for the melodic head-swinger, "Reaper". The video footage is cut from the band's exclusive multi-cam virtual concert, which was delivered to "virtual ticket" buyers last Thursday.
Frontman Tuomas Saukkonen says about the track and video: "Footage for the video is taken from our exclusive virtual gig with few added camera angles. It was a very different experience and made us miss our fans in the flesh more than ever. Counting the days until we get back on the road, but in the meantime, the true meaning of the song fits well for this moment as well, as the whole world is battling against the virus."
"Facing an enemy
Greater in numbers
Superior in arms
Facing an enemy
Overpowering and grandeur
Superior in arms
But never in heart"
Watch the performance video for “Reaper” below:
Just as wildlife itself maintains harmony with a violent clash of beauty and unpredictability, Wolves Of Karelia explores the band’s previously coined genre of “winter metal” – smoothly bridging a traditional approach of extreme genres with tracks like the breakneck epic “Reaper”, while maintaining atmospheric and acoustic elements on songs such as the bludgeoning wall-of-sound “The Hammer” and grandiose “Horizon On Fire”. Crowned by the deeply stunning instrumental interlude “Eye Of The Storm”, Wolves Of Karelia could easily go down in metal history as Wolfheart’s most intense record.
The album’s lyrical and musical content is inspired by the Winter War waged between Russia and the band’s native country, Finland, which took place during the winter of November 1939-March 1940. Finland ultimately managed to stop the Russian troops from invading their country. Wolfheart mastermind and frontman Tuomas Saukkonen was inspired by the personal stories of local veterans, conveying the tales of what they experienced and survived from their perspectives. Somber, frostbitten and heroic, Wolves Of Karelia portrays these tales with stunning musical precision.
Former GREAT WHITE and current JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE frontman Jack Russell will release a very special acoustic album revisiting GREAT WHITE's 1987 multi-platinum masterpiece "Once Bitten" featuring some of their biggest and most recognizable hits, including "Save Your Love" and "Rock Me". Aided by the likes of guitarist Robby Lochner (who also produced and mixed the album), longtime GREAT WHITE bassist Tony Montana (now on guitar), bassist Dan McNay and drummer Dicki Fliszer, these songs have been stripped to their emotional core, spotlighting the intensely passionate story at the heart of each song. Just check out the new version of the unforgettable ballad "Save Your Love", which has been shorn of all rockstar pomp to reveal a heartfelt hymn yearning, love and loss. Or just watch the new video, directed by Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films (QUEENSRŸCHE, TOM KEIFER), which communicates the song's message powerfully.
Russell explains: "'Once Bitten' is one of my favorite albums that we did. I always wondered what it would sound like done acoustically. The experience recording this unplugged version was really neat. It brought back a lot of memories of the original recording session, things I had forgotten about. Interestingly, the songs that I thought wouldn't translate acoustically like 'Livin' On The Edge' and 'Never Change Heart', the heavier songs, came out the best. Now, I'm looking forward to doing it again for '…Twice Shy'."
"Once Bitten Acoustic Bytes" will be available everywhere starting May 1 on digital as well as CD and a limited-edition blue vinyl LP from Deadline Music, a division of Cleopatra Records, Inc.
Track listing:
01. Lady Redlight
02. Gonna Getcha
03. Rock Me
04. All Over Now
05. Mistreater
06. Never Change Heart
07. Fast Road
08. Livin' On The Edge
09. Save Your Love
10. Babe (I'm Gonna Leave You)
JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE's debut LP, "He Saw It Comin'", was released in January 2017 and featured the singles "Blame It On The Night", "Sign Of The Times" and "Love Don't Live Here".
Russell was fired from GREAT WHITE in December 2011 (after being on hiatus from the group since 2009). He sued his onetime bandmates the following year over their continued use of the GREAT WHITE name after Jack had taken a leave of absence from the band for medical reasons. A short time later, Russell was countersued by Mark Kendall, Michael Lardie and Audie Desbrow, claiming the vocalist's self-destructive behavior was damaging the GREAT WHITE name (they also alleged he was charging promoters less for his own touring version of GREAT WHITE). The parties settled in July 2013 without going to trial, with Russell now performing as JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE while the others are continuing as GREAT WHITE.

Quote from the band about the release of “Unstoppable”:
“We are very proud and excited to release ‘Unstoppable’, the first single of our second album. After two years of experience and hard work on the road, openings for Tremonti and Judas Priest in Europe, we are definitely reaching the next level songwriting, and production wise with this new material. We do feel like the title of that song, ‘Unstoppable’. If you're looking for something powerful, energetic, versatile and melodic, then you should give it a try!”
Saigon Kick frontman Matt Kramer has checked in with some new solo music. See below:
"Well, I did promise a song from quarantine. Hope this finds you all safe and healthy out there, much love to you all. 'I Won’t Forget You' by Jim Reeves. Hope you dig."
Guitar was performed on this track by Steve Gordon.
In January 2019, Kramer checked in with the following update:
"'Take a left here' explains the theme of my next singing career move, and I absolutely love the freedom. Moving into my next project is a time capsule, dating back to the beginning of where a big change in music and culture peaked here in America. I’ll try my best to understand and deliver. Of course, I made it difficult on myself and picked a very polished, unlikely subject to sing the songs of, and have never done covers in my life. Studying very hard and enjoying the time capsule. Always learning..."
