Motor Sister - featuring Jim Wilson (Mother Superior), Scott Ian (Anthrax), Pearl Aday (solo), Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning), and John Tempesta (The Cult) – checked in from corona lockdown to pay tribute to John Prine, the country folk singer who died on April 7 at the age of 73, with a rendition of his song “Angel From Montgomery”.
Anthrax drummer, Charlie Benante, has released the video below, featuring a performance of the Stormtroopers Of Death (S.O.D.) instrumental, "March Of The S.O.D.", from their 1985 debut album, Speak English Or Die.
S.O.D.'s lineup includes Scott Ian (guitars, backing vocals), Dan Lilker (bass, backing vocals), Charlie Benante (drums, additional guitar solos), and Billy Milano (vocals).
Charlie Benante has been releasing a series of videos entitled YO! Watch The Beat. Previously released segments can be seen below:
The British death metal kings Ingested have released their new single “Impending Dominance”. This new song is alluding to the sound of the bands new record.
Frontman, Jason Evans commented, "We picked 'Impending Dominance' as the first single because it's hard as fuck. Simple as. This is about sacrifice, and the things you have to do to become the best. Could you step over friend and foe alike to achieve immortality? What would you give to have everything you've ever wanted? What would you become? The road to hell is paved with the best intentions, but are you the same at the end of the journey?
“Huge grooves, massive slams and gargantuan riffs, it smashes you over the head from the start to finish. We fuckin' love it and hopefully you will too! Stay safe!"
Psychedelic forest folk band, Hexvessel, have released a video for "Fire Of The Mind", a track from their forthcoming record, Kindred, out April 17 via Svart Records. Watch below.
Says the band: "New to a lot of our listeners, our cover of Coil's 'Fire Of The Mind' features on our new album Kindred. We recorded the song live in the Pitkäniemi institution back in December 2018 with no overdubs, in one take. We felt that the feeling and energy behind this version of the song was definitive and represents how much it, and Coil, means to us.
"Kindred is out this Friday the 17th and we'd appreciate it so much if you buy, stream or download a copy. It's a hell of a time to release an album, but we hope that the sentiment and meaning of the album (Kindred = family, kin, community) resonates, and that it provides some small escape and comfort. The blacker the sun, the darker the dawn."
Kindred is Hexvessel’s fifth album, and a return to Svart Records, where they released their debut album Dawnbearer to critical and cult acclaim 10 years ago. Hexvessel was formed by English/Irish singer/songwriter Mat McNerney in 2009 after he moved to Finland. Also known for his work with Beastmilk (now known as Grave Pleasures), The Deathtrip, guest spots with Carpenter Brut and Me & That Man and his earlier work with Norwegian black metal bands Code & Dødheimsgard, McNerney is a both highly eclectic and critically acclaimed musical artist. Across the years, it is McNerney’s work with Hexvessel which has been his most brave, exploratory, honest and impossible to categorise, unique and idiosyncratic in a world all of their own.

"Demian"
"Fire Of The Mind"
"Bog Bodies"

Bret Michaels has released the complete Rosebush Sessions video, featuring the Poison frontman performing the classic, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", in various spots on his property. Watch below:
Scottish craft brewer BrewDog and American heavy metal band LAMB OF GOD have announced the release of the world's first non-alcoholic collaboration beer, Ghost Walker. The announcement was originally planned for the start of the band's global tour that would have begun this spring, but, as a result of COVID-19 and the postponing of their European tour, BrewDog and LAMB OF GOD decided to launch their collaboration with the video premiere of the band's most recent live performance of their song "Ghost Walking". The live video, filmed at LAMB OF GOD's performance at House Of Vans in Chicago on February 14, premiered online today, April 14, to give music fans around the world an opportunity to virtually come together in these uncertain times.
As of today, the beer is available in BrewDog's online shop for shipping anywhere in the world. The beer is named after one of the band's most popular songs, "Ghost Walking", from their 2012 album "Resolution". LAMB OF GOD vocalist Randy Blythe wrote the lyrics as he started his journey toward an alcohol-free lifestyle.
The collaboration, which started after Blythe was blown away by one of BrewDog's AF (alcohol free) beers, provides non-drinkers, and people who may want a beer but not the alcohol, a quality craft beverage option. Unlike many non-alcoholic beers, Ghost Walker rocks a hop-forward flavor with less than 0.5% alcohol. Tropical aromas harmonize with grassy, pine notes, all sitting on a solid malt baseline, proving that non-alcoholic beer can taste just as good.
Later this year, after the quarantine is lifted, Ghost Walker will be available to concert-goers attending LAMB OF GOD shows in North America and Europe. At these events, the beer will provide a non-alcoholic alternative for those seeking it and will make these already momentous celebrations even more inclusive. Tour dates and details will be announced on LAMB OF GOD and BrewDog's web sites once determined.
Watch the world premiere of LAMB OF GOD performing "Ghost Walking" live from House Of Vans Chicago at lambofgodbeer.com.
Blythe commented: "The idea of a collaboration hatched when Willie Adler and I visited a BrewDog bar in Columbus on a tour day off to sample a few pints of their non-alcoholic beer with the brewery team. Countless bands have done beer collaborations, but we are the world's first non-alcoholic one. In my not-so-humble opinion, this is the best non-alcoholic beer ever made, PERIOD. It was conceived, designed and first tasted while on tour — music drove it into existence. Right now is a strange time for everyone, but we're stoked to provide a non-alcoholic option for those who want to have a brew while cranking some tunes safely at home. We hope you enjoy our performance and we will see you on the road as soon as possible."
BrewDog co-founder James Watt commented: "This collaboration is our most epic to date. It is also one of the most important, especially now. BrewDog has always been focused on making other people as passionate about craft beer as we are, and that includes people who, like Randy, don't want alcohol in their beer. Our AF line of beers offers everyone an alcohol-free alternative for any occasion and we're thrilled to add Ghost Walker to the lineup."
Since 2007, BrewDog has been on a mission to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as we are. From the Headliner series, which includes bold, uncompromising pack leaders like the flagship Punk IPA, to the Amplified range (beer, but turned up to 11), BrewDog brews beer that blows people's minds and has kick-started a revolution.
Cofounders James Watt and Martin Dickie shook up the business world in 2010 with the launch of pioneering crowdfunding initiative Equity For Punks, an initiative that has seen the company raise over £73m over six rounds, raising more money through online equity crowdfunding than any other on record. The funds and the army of punk shareholders (130,000) has enabled the Scottish craft brewery to scale up without selling out.
With more than 100 bars across the globe, export into 60 countries, and a brewery in Ohio that launched in 2017, BrewDog continues to take the craft beer revolution stratospheric, whilst continuing to push the boundaries, invest in people, put the beer first, and champion other small breweries in its venues.
Whitechapel has launched a new digital single for the acoustic version of "Hickory Creek". The studio version of the track originally appeared on the album The Valley, released last year via Metal Blade Records.
Vocalist Phil Bozeman comments: "If any song could have an acoustic version, it would be 'Hickory Creek'. This was enjoyable on so many levels for us to make, and we hope you share that same joy during these hard times."
Listen to "Hickory Creek" (acoustic) below:
Mixed by David Castillo, mastered by Ted Jensen, produced once again by Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder), and featuring artwork by Branca Studio, The Valley is a reference to the part of Hardin Valley (west of Knoxville, Tennessee) where vocalist Phil Bozeman grew up. Set against this backdrop, he approaches his subject matter unflinchingly, building upon everything that came before, making it clear that he has survived that which he was forced to endure and is not afraid to confront it.
"Phil has been upfront in his lyrics in the past about hardships he endured in his life as a child, and I believe with this record we tried to paint a better picture of that," says guitarist Alex Wade, who alongside his bandmates, stands 100% behind everything their vocalist has to say. "I feel our music is Phil's release from his past, being able to get it out and speak about it, and hopefully anyone who hears it that may have gone through similar experiences can find some release in it as well."
STYX drummer Todd Sucherman has released the official Eric Dorris-directed music video for "Last Flight Home", the title track of his upcoming solo album. Due on May 2, the LP can be pre-ordered at ToddSucherman.com.
Sucherman, who took over drumming duties in STYX a year before the death of John Panozzo in 1996, said: "This record was something I didn't know I could do on many levels and I'm thrilled to be able to put this out, even at this difficult time. Voluminous thanks to you all for the support, kind words, and the inspiration to move full steam ahead!"
Regarding the musical direction of "Last Flight Home", Sucherman said: "I think most people would expect some sort of drum-centric record or some fusion record, but it's not. It's a vocal record — songs, melodies, stories; it's what I love the most about music. I've always been kind of terrified of the whole singing thing, so that's kind of how I felt that I might be in the right place here. I really wasn't sure that I could pull it off, but I wanted to try to attempt something that I didn't know that I could do with music that I'm extremely proud of."
He continued: "I can already hear the Internet choruses of, 'Hey, Sucherman, what do you think, you're a big singing star now? Why don't you shut up and sit down and play the drums?'
"I have no ambitions of being a big singing star, and there's plenty of drumming on this record — song-supportive drumming; my favorite kind of drumming," he explained. "So I hope you'll listen without prejudice when it comes out."
Sucherman joined STYX as a full-time member after Panozzo died of cirrhosis.
STYX's latest album, 2017's "The Mission", was met with praise from fans. Its arrival ended a 14-year run without an LP of new original material from the veteran band.
The video below features a fascinating behind the scenes document recorded at the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool on June 1 and 2, 2011 with late Deep Purple keyboard legend, Jon Lord.
This recording process featured Brett Morgan (drums) and Guy Pratt (bass), with Paul Mann conducting the orchestra.
Interestingly, Marco de Goeij, a Dutch composer, is present at the session - Marco actually reconstructed the lost musical score for Jon Lord's Concerto for Group and Orchestra and it was the reason Jon was able to record his piece after the original score was lost in 1969.
A new video of veteran drummer Deen Castronovo (THE DEAD DAISIES, JOURNEY, REVOLUTION SAINTS) singing the classic JOURNEY song "Don't Stop Believin'" while driving around in his car can be seen below.
Castronovo's 17-year tenure with JOURNEY ended in 2015 when the band fired him after his arrest for a variety of charges involving a former fiancée (including physical abuse, coercion, and unlawful use of a weapon).
Asked in a 2018 interview with "The Blaring Out With Eric Blair Show" how playing with JOURNEY changed him, Deen said: "I learned how to play for the song and to play as a team and remember that the song is the most important thing. I got to work with Jonathan [Cain] again and Neal [Schon], and it was like going home. I've known those guys since BAD ENGLISH, since I was 23. To be able to be 17 years in that band, it's a dream come true. I'd pinch myself. There'd be times I'd be walking with my drum tech in an arena and I'd just stop and go, 'Dude, I play for JOURNEY.' It was a cool thing, and I'm very, very grateful that they gave me that opportunity."
On the topic of singing two songs on JOURNEY's 2005 album "Generations", Deen said: "I listen back now and I cringe. I could have done better, you know – my first time singing on a record lead like that. It was kind of scary, but for me, I learned how to sing for the first time with a band as a lead singer. I'd never done that. I got more comfortable and got better as the time [passed] to where now, with REVOLUTION SAINTS... I'm definitely not Steve Perry. I'm definitely not Jeff Scott Soto or even Arnel Pineda, but I love what I do and I do the best I can. I'm a drummer that happens to sing. I'm not a lead singer. For me, drums are my most important thing. With JOURNEY, I was able to sing two or three songs [live] to be able to give Arnel a break. I would never want to be a frontman. I could never be a frontman. That's scary, dude. If I'm going to sing, I want those drums around me. I want that protection."
Asked whether he misses being in JOURNEY, Deen said: "Totally. I miss the music; I miss my brothers. Of course. The touring was amazing. The band, the music, was amazing. I'm just grateful to be back playing. I never thought I'd play again, so being back and playing again and in the trenches is a great thing. But I miss playing those songs. I will always miss it. It was a big, big opportunity for me."
METALLICA has posted another video as part of its new concert series, "#MetallicaMondays", where the band is streaming a complete live show for fans on the group's YouTube channel and on Facebook every week. The fourth concert to be shared was recorded on August 12, 2017 at the Outside Lands festival at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California and can be seen below.
The band said in a statement, "While we're all doing our part and staying home, we find ourselves missing live music, so how about we dive back into a few of our favorite shows at a socially responsible distance?"
METALLICA has been largely out of the public eye since last fall when the band canceled an Australian tour and announced that frontman James Hetfield was returning to rehab for the first time since 2002 to battle his addictions.
Hetfield made his first major public appearance since entering rehab on January 30, when an exhibit featuring 10 of his classic custom cars opened at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
Last month, METALLICA announced that its South American tour, which was originally planned for April, has been postponed until December. In addition, the band's appearances at three Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festivals in May have been canceled: Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome To Rockville in Daytona and Sonic Temple in Columbus.
Guitarist Kirk Hammett told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that METALLICA has to be in better than average shape to play its music live. "There's a physicality to our music that we cannot ignore, so we just kind of have to keep ourselves in a certain sort of physical sort of state where that we can't let ourselves get to a point where we can't play these songs," he said. "That's just not allowed. When we write this music, we have to make sure that we can play it and play it when we need to play it."

MAGNUS KARLSSON'S FREE FALL will release a new album, "We Are The Night", on May 8 via Frontiers Music Srl. The official music video for the second single, "Queen Of Fire", featuring BATTLE BEAST vocalist Noora Louhimo, can be seen below.
Aside from Noora, other guest vocalists on the album include Frontiers' newest vocal sensation Renan Zonta of ELECTRIC MOB, Dino Jelusick of TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA and ANIMAL DRIVE, Ronnie Romero of RAINBOW, Mike Andersson of CLOUDSCAPE, and former BLACK SABBATH singer Tony Martin.
On making the album, Magnus says: "After all hours of songwriting and recording, I sat back and listened to the final mixes and wondered, 'How can I ever top this album?' It has the sound and vibe I've always been searching for. Old and new friends that I admire are singing their hearts out and making the songs better than I ever could have dreamed of! Well, the third FREE FALL album is something really special to me and I hope it will be that for you too!"
Karlsson is well known as the mastermind behind several Frontiers productions, including the successful initial ALLEN/LANDE trilogy and the recent spin-off album, ALLEN/OLZON, as well as releases by STARBREAKER (with Tony Harnell), Bob Catley, and KISKE/SOMERVILLE. In 2008, he joined German heavy metal icons PRIMAL FEAR and with them has toured the world and recorded several successful albums which charted in multiple countries around the globe.
In 2013, he launched his solo project FREE FALL, which was warmly received by the numerous fans of the Swedish mastermind and showcased Magnus's songwriting and production skills with lead vocals provided by a varied cast of some the finest singers of the genre.
For this new album, "We Are The Night", Magnus again enlisted a dream team featuring some of the strongest melodic singers in metal and hard rock. Rounding out the lineup on the album is Anders Kollerfors on drums with mixing by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, PRIMAL FEAR, AMARANTHE, PRETTY MAIDS).
Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX), Alex Skolnick (TESTAMENT) and Roberto "Ra" Diaz (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) have shared their version of another classic RUSH song, "La Villa Strangiato", recorded with each member separated in their own homes.
Benante uploaded a video of the performance to his YouTube channel, writing in an accompanying message: "The three of us - Alex, Ra,and Myself had so much fun doing our version of RUSH's 'YYZ' and are blown away by the positive response that we’ve received. So we've decided that the best way to say thank you is to do one more song. This one has been requested by some and again, will be recognized by every fan of RUSH. By popular demand: here is 'La Villa Strangiato'. Despite being an instrumental, the song tells a complete story, complete with plot and characters. It's based on some nightmares Alex Lifeson experienced.
"We hope you all enjoy it as much as we did playing it! Stay safe and wishing everybody a great week!"
Peart died on January 7 in Santa Monica, California after a three-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. The iconic RUSH drummer was 67 years old.
Skolnick told "The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show" about Peart's passing: "It just came out of nowhere. I never knew him personally. Those who knew him personally knew for a while [that he was sick], so it wasn't that much of a shock, although, I tell you, how could it not be a shock?
"I had just recently started listening to RUSH more and intensely — more focused on the drums," he continued. "It was strange — I had this extra urge to airdrum. And then this happened.
"I'm just grateful for the music. I'm grateful I got to see them on the 'Clockwork Angels' tour. I had seen them only once before — back in high school. When I saw them, they were just in full form. And you would never know.
"I'm just thankful for the music and for him," Skolnick added. "What an amazing person, lyricist, thinker. A big inspiration. For those of us that don't always fit in, he's a huge inspiration — not just to drummers."
RUSH announced Peart's passing on January 10, setting off shockwaves and an outpouring of grief from fans and musicians all over the world.
RUSH's final show took place at the Forum in Los Angeles on August 1, 2015. Peart indicated at the time that he wanted to retire while he was still able to play well, along with a desire to spend more time at home with his young daughter.
Peart joined RUSH in 1974. He was considered one of the best rock drummers of all time, alongside John Bonham of LED ZEPPELIN; Keith Moon of THE WHO; and Ginger Baker of CREAM. Peart was also RUSH's primary lyricist, drawing inspiration from everything from sci-fi to Ayn Rand.
Finland's Oceanhoarse are about to release their first full-length album on June 5th. But here's the twist: instead of locking themselves into a sterile studio to polish up the material, the upcoming album was recorded onstage, all over Europe, in front of an audience.
“Our tour supporting Marko Hietala this past February went better than we could've ever hope for,” says guitarist Ben Varon. “The response was overwhelming, and we won the crowds over every night before our set was over. Judging by the feedback we got after the shows, as well as by the amount of merch we sold, we were definitely doing something right. Luckily for us Kimmo Ahola, the sound engineer on that tour, records all the shows, which means we also ended up in his archives.”
Once the band got to hear some of the recorded material and was impressed by the sound quality, performances as well as the overall vibe, the idea of releasing a proper live album arose. But it was the recent coronavirus pandemic and the tidal wave of gig and tour cancellations that helped make the decision that the live album is a go, and its time was now.
“Since day one, we've been very vocal about our passion for honest and raw live sound. We believe that there must be tons of metalheads out there who, like us, have grown tired of seeing bands perform with click tracks, laptops, and walls of orchestras and synthesizers running on backing tapes. There's something very special about the energy of a live show where all the necessary information is being delivered by just the few musicians onstage, at full volume, right in your face. The Damage Is Done – LIVE! is a good example of that: 100% live, no touch-ups, an honest documentary of what Oceanhoarse sounded like on our first tour in February of 2020!”
Oceanhoarse bassist Jyri Helko continues: “The response on that tour surpassed every expectation! People in Central Europe tend to arrive early for the shows, curious to see the support acts as well, which of course was great for us. Originally we were supposed to be in the studio right now to record new material, but the situation being what it is, all studio and touring plans had to be postponed. So why not put out a live album instead!”
While waiting for The Damage is Done -LIVE! to drop, check out the live video for “The Intruder”, filmed during the same European tour at Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland.
On May 1, Final Coil, in conjunction with their label Wormholedeath, will release the Convicted Of The Right EP. To celebrate the announcement, the band have unleashed an astonishing official video for the track (watch below).
"Convicted Of The Right" is one of the most powerful tracks from 2019’s concept album, The World We Left Behind For Others, and the band have filmed a stunning promo video to accompany its release. The video brings to life in harrowing fashion the song’s commentary on the conditioning and indoctrination of young men fed into the military machine.
Final Coil frontman Phil Stiles speaks about the song: “In the song, which opens to the sound of gunfire, we witness my Grandfather, mired in alcoholism, looking back upon his training. As his past merges with his present, he remains resolutely convicted that what he did was right; that the ends justified the means - and, from a certain perspective he was… but then there are men (and women) all around the world who use the same justification for their state-sanctioned actions... They can’t all be right, can they?”
The video was created by the same team that brought another track from The World We Left Behind For Others to such vivid life last year - "The Last Battle" - and there are many suggested links between the two films as Phil explains, “Shot on the same location, an abandoned military base in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, we meticulously recreated a squat in which a veteran of an unnamed war would slowly suffer a complete mental collapse. Tormented by visions of past conflicts and a particularly vehement drill instructor; surrounded by the detritus of his attempts to forget the past and unable to contain a sense of utter alienation, he takes refuge in the comforting notion that his past was mandated by a force stronger than the individual. What follows is unclear, but if the character whom we saw running from some unseen foe in the first clip really is the same character we see lurking in the background in the squat, then we can only fear for her safety…”
The Convicted Of The Right EP sees the powerful album track backed by an array of exciting, exclusive material. The band travelled down to The Lab in London where they recorded three tracks live in the studio. These vibrant versions of "Empty Handed", "Spider Feet" and "You Waste My Time" all appear on the new EP and were also captured on film for future video release.
The Convicted Of The Right EP will be released both digitally and on limited edition cassette and provides the perfect conclusion to the incredible journey of The World We Left Behind For Others.
Tracklisting:
"Convicted Of The Right" (Album Version)
"Empty Handed" (Live @ The Lab)
"You Waste My Time" (Live @ The Lab)
"Spider Feet" (Live @ The Lab)

Former GUNS N' ROSES drummer has uploaded a video of him performing the band's classic song "Patience". The six-minute clip opens with Sorum telling his Instagram followers: "Here I am again with my guitar. I'm out in the backyard here in the desert. You see my palm trees. It's getting a little chilly, so I put on this wooly hat in tribute to Izzy Stradlin, one of the writers of this next song. I was very fortunate to play with my old bandmates on this song. Obviously, I was on the drums. I'm gonna play it for you tonight on the guitar and sing it. I hope you enjoy my version. This one's called 'Patience'."
As previously reported, Chicago Review Press has pushed back the release date of Matt''s book, "Double Talkin' Jive: True Rock 'N' Roll Stories From The Drummer Of Guns N' Roses, The Cult, And Velvet Revolver", to July 7 from the previously announced April 7.
Back in March 2018, Sorum told the "2 Hours With Matt Pinfield" podcast about his upcoming autobiography: "It's going to be the juiciest of the juiciest of the GN'R books, for sure, plus all the other crap I've done. I'm being really truthful about everything that happened. I'm not a jaded individual; I'm not a bitter guy. There's a lot of bad shit that went down, but I just want to tell the story straightforward, and I don't want to, like, hold back. I will edit some things — my wife's got to look at it. [Laughs] I've had such an amazing life, and I go, 'Wow, man. If I don't write it down now, I don't want to forget.' There's a lot of good shit in the book that doesn't pertain to GN'R."
Sorum, who replaced Steven Adler in GUNS N' ROSES, recorded the highly successful albums "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II" (both 1991) and "The Spaghetti Incident" (1994). He also supported the group on the "Use Your Illusion" tour and can be heard on GUNS N' ROSES' "Live Era: '87-'93" (1999) and "Greatest Hits" (2004).
Sorum has said in the past that a GUNS reunion tour should have included both him and Adler, with each playing the songs they recorded with the group. Sorum was inducted as a member of the band into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2012.
KISS frontman Paul Stanley has released a video of him playing the riffs from the band's classic songs "Makin' Love", "Hotter Than Hell" and "Got To Choose" from home quarantine.
At the beginning of the 14-minute clip, which can be seen below, Stanley addressed his online audience, saying: "How are you doing, everybody? I think it's Saturday, April 4th at dinner. And quite honestly, April 4th is just like April 2nd and probably the same as April 6th will be. All days are pretty much the same. Are we bored? Yeah. I'd like to be doing more than I'm doing, but it's great to be able to spend some time with you and just get together.
"It's funny because somebody, a couple of days ago, had gotten in touch with me and said, 'Why aren't you spending more time doing these videos and get 'em really, really great — get the performances great, get the singing great, the guitar playing great?' I said, 'Because the people I'm doing it for know that's not what it's about. This isn't a performance, it's not a concert, it's not a recital — it's me and you hanging out. And that means that — is it perfect? Hell no. But we get to have some fun. I get to have some fun.
"With that in mind, while we're doing this, we should all remember that there are doctors, hospital workers, sanitation people, police, people at supermarkets, delivery people — all these people are making this possible for us. And some of them are under horrific conditions and they're only trying to keep their heads above water and they're in a real dangerous situation. People in the hospitals working don't have what they neeed, yet they do it. So, my prayers for all of them, and let's not forget about those people.
"So, I was wondering, what will I do now? What can we do? And I thought, maybe I'll play just some riffs, play some little guitar parts, and you can sing if you want. You're in the band. If you know the parts of the song, sing along. It's just us — you, me and… I don't know. Two hundred thousand people, three hundred thousand people. Whatever it is. So we can have some fun. And I'll try to pull something out of the old memory bank. And let's see what we get."
U.S. officials have repeatedly urged Americans to heed what federal, state and local officials are asking of them in order to curtail the spread and dampen the impact of the coronavirus on the population.
The elderly — especially those with heart, lung and immunological conditions — are particularly vulnerable to the coronavirus.
According to the Centers For Disease Control And Protection (CDC), coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person — between people who are in close contact with one another (within about six feet), and through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
While in confinement, trying to adapt and make the best out of the situation, Voivod guitarist Dan “Chewy” Mongrain decided to give it a go at doing this first tutorial video, a very exhaustive autopsy of the solo of “Obsolete Beings” which is the opening track and first single of the latest Voivod release and Juno winning award for best metal album of the year in 2019 in Canada, The Wake.
"These guitar/music lesson and play-throughs cover a lot of aspects of my guitar playing, composing, soloing techniques in great details”, Chewy says. “I thought It would be a good time for sharing this,And it seems to be appreciated a lot! I hope to do more in the near future”
Dan “Chewy” Mongrain is now officially part of Dimarzio pickup artists. See profile page here.
"Thanks to my friend David Davidson of Revocation, he was kind to introduce me to the Dimarzio team, we toured together last year and had a blast on the road, David is a great guitar player and a very nice guy with a great sense of humor!"
Voivod is currently working on a live record and a new album amongst other exciting projects coming out this year.
