An up-scaled version of the 1993 music video for "Dreams" from Van Halen has been uploaded by the official Sammy Hagar YouTube channel. “Dreams” is a featured track on the band’s 1986 album 5150 and reached #22 on the Billboard charts.
This special version of Van Halen's "Dreams" was filmed in March 1993 at the famed Whisky A Go Go to celebrate their 15-year anniversary. It followed on the heels of the February 1993 release of their first live album Live: Right Here, Right Now. They hadn't played the Whisky since 1978.
"When you been around as long as I have, there's some kind of anniversary/celebration every other day haha. I can't believe it's been 37 years since 5150. Playin’ the Whisky was right up there with Dallas Alley as one of the craziest things we ever did. What a great band. #Dreams" – Sammy
This version has been up-scaled to 1920x1440 from its original 640x480 resolution.
Live: Right Here, Right Now has been remastered and will be re-released for the first time in a limited edition red vinyl edition on April 22, 2023. This version also feature three additional tracks: "The Dream Is Over” and “Eagles Fly” from the companion DVD release that were not released on the original 2CD set and “Mine All Mine” from the Live: Jump EP from 1993.
From headlining performances from their inception as well as supporting slots for some of the biggest bands in metal, Canada’s Sovereign Council have hit the ground running and haven’t stopped since they formed in 2012. They have released two full-length albums to date New Reign (2013) and Laniakea (2015) and now they have a fresh new EP World On Fire for listeners and ahead of its release, the band is offering up the title track as a single accompanied with a music video premiered by BraveWords!
The majority of the EP comes from vocalist Lisa Thompson’s personal experiences and this five-song progressive, symphonic, and power metal-influenced EP will take listeners through a range of emotions and imagery ranging from inspiring, motivational lyrics to darker subject matter.
The band shares their thoughts on the single:
“This song was chosen as a single because everyone in the band felt it to be one of the stronger songs on this release. It has an edge to it while still being very accessible to a wider audience compared to our previous releases. Each one of us takes a different meaning from the song itself and we hope that our listeners will enjoy it just as much as we do. We simply want people to enjoy the ride.”
Sovereign Council got together through a shared love of music and the emotional release that comes with writing, recording, and performing. As a band, they have evolved drastically since being first formed and continue to change each time they sit down to write music. They are proud of their new sound and look forward to their continued growth and change.
Dynamic solos and incredible vocal range come together in the impressive display of melodic metal that is World On Fire. It is recommended for fans of Delain, Within Temptation, and Lacuna Coil.
Andean folk/prog metal band Flor de Loto teams up with Italian vocalist Fabio Lione for a Peruvian rendition of "Oceano," accompanied by a live video of their mini-tour in Peru.
The renowned Peruvian Andean folk/prog metal band Flor de Loto has recently released a live video of their unique rendition of "Oceano," featuring the exceptional talents of Italian vocalist Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra, Athena XIX). The video showcases performances from their mini tour across two cities in Peru in July 2022.
This distinct version of "Oceano," originally from the latest Turilli/Lione Rhapsody album, incorporates the quena, an ancient Andean wind instrument characteristic of Flor de Loto's sound. Remarkably, this song had never been performed live before, even by the Italian band, who later included it in their farewell tour this year.
Flor de Loto is currently working on a 25th-anniversary album, which will feature guest appearances from Fabio Lione and other musicians. The album will be produced by guitarist and producer Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson, Tribe of Gypsies).
The live video of "Oceano" can be viewed below.
Vocalist Alonso Herrera of Flor de Loto commented, "After five years, we got together again with Fabio Lione, and as always, it was a pleasure. This version of 'Oceano' was very well received by the public, and in our opinion, it is amazing. We took this track from Turilli/Lione Rhapsody and added our signature style, which is Andean folk metal. Stay tuned for what comes next with Fabio (and more guest musicians) on our album for the band's 25 years, which will be out this year."
David Lee Roth is at it again. The Van Halen singer has released the new, and somewhat bizarre video below, soundtracked by Garth Brooks' #1 country hit from 1990, "Friends In Low Places".
Roth recently launched a new season of his podcast, The Roth Show. Listen to the latest episode below:
Frontiers Music Srl released the second album, 2 Make U Cry & Dance, from rock n’ roll juggernauts Electric Mob, back in January. A new single and music video, "4 Letters", is out today. Watch the clip below:
These talented Brazilians stormed on the scene in 2020 with the release of their electrifying (no pun intended) debut album Discharge, wowing listeners with their modern take on classic bluesy hard rock executed with heartfelt, soulful musicianship and absolutely monstrous vocals.
The follow-up sees the band’s songwriting and musicianship taking a HUGE leap forward. Truly, an all killer, no filler affair, 2 Make U Cry & Dance is proof positive that high quality rock 'n roll does not adhere to any geographical borders.
And for those wondering, the album title is a reference to certain lyrics on the album being reflections on the hard times we go through in life while the music is simultaneously high energy and meant to raise the spirits and make you.... well, dance.
Formed in Curitiba, Brazil by Renan Zonta (vocals), Ben Hur Auwarter (guitar), Yuri Elero (bass), and André Leister (drums), Electric Mob caught the attention of Frontiers with their tremendous hard rock songs that show the influence of contemporary hard rock giants while also showing a knowledge of the hard rock pillars of the '70s and '80s.
Electric Mob is comprised of four young, hungry and extremely talented musicians, with the rock 'n roll attitude to deliver their explosive performances. Like a sonic punch to the face, their songs are a mixture of powerful vocals, mean guitar riffs, and heavy groove with influences from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. There is no doubt that Electric Mob is leading the charge to put Brazil on the rock ‘n roll map.

Joining them will be UB40 featuring Ali Campbell across all regional shows except for The O2 London and Edinburgh Castle dates.
Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and band will be performing music from throughout the band’s nearly 60-year career, including sections devoted to classic albums Tommy and Quadrophenia as well as other beloved Who tracks and songs from their 2019 WHO album, their first studio release in 13 years.
The 2023 UK shows include Edinburgh Castle, the band’s first show in the Scottish capital in over 40 years as well as shows in Derby, their first since 1966, The O2 London, Durham and Brighton Cricket grounds. The gigs follow last year’s highly acclaimed The Who Hits Back! tour of the US, where the band shared the with some of the finest orchestras in America.
The 2023 UK tour will feature The Who’s full live band comprised of guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, second keyboardist Emily Marshall, bassist Jon Button, drummer Zak Starkey and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls, along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson, lead violinist Katie Jacoby and lead cellist Audrey Snyder.
The Who wound up their The Who Hits Back! tour of the US in November last year having wowed audiences in over thirty cities, with media and fans agreeing that the band were as good as, if not better than ever and that the orchestral arrangements, most of which were done by the legendary David Campbell, brought a new depth and excitement to Pete Townshend’s music.
Performing with The Who and an orchestra had been a long-held ambition for singer Roger Daltrey. “Having not toured the UK for six years, it’s great that at this time of our careers we have the chance to go to places that are not on the usual touring map Edinburgh Castle and Derby, as well as the other cities across the country that we haven’t been to for decades, will make this very special for me. This opportunity will give our UK Who fans the chance to hear our current show, which, with the addition of an orchestra, takes our music to new heights.”
Pete Townshend: “Roger initially christened this tour with an orchestra Moving On! I love it. It is what both of us want to do. Move on, with new music, classic Who music, all performed in new and exciting ways. Taking risks, nothing to lose. I’m really looking forward to bringing this show to the UK.”
The Who are calling upon fans to add an optional £1 donation onto their ticket price at point of sale in support of Teenage Cancer Trust. Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey are longstanding supporters and Roger has been the driving force behind Teenage Cancer Trust’s Royal Albert Hall concerts since they began in 2000. Swedish death 'n' roll outfit Tribulation played their the W:E:T Stage after sundown at Wacken Open Air 2022. Check out prio-shot video of "Nightbound", "Melancholia" and "The Lament".
On April 7, Tribulation will unleash their new EP, Hamartia, via Century Media Records. Last year, the quartet dropped the title track for Hamartia as a standalone release (video below); now, they're back with another single/video from this record: "Axis Mundi".
Stream the song here, and watch the official video (directed by Johan Bååth in collaboration with Astrid Bergdahl) below.
Adam Zaars (guitars) comments: "'Axis Mundi' sees Tribulation entering The Machine Age through the lens of dystopian fiction in a journey to the centre of the world, and beyond. Being the first composition by Joseph Tholl (guitars), it offers the listener and the viewer a new set of flavours and hues to the palate, and from the palette that constitutes the egregore that is Tribulation. A new year calls for a fresh start, so please consider making this a part of the soundtrack to yours."
Forged amid the grubby depths of the Swedish death metal scene, Tribulation have always been the shadowy outlaws of the underground - and with Hamartia, they're poised to begin a new chapter in their sinister story. The group's songwriting powers have undergone a vigorous rejuvenation; new guitarist Joseph Tholl replaced the departing Jonathan Hultén, which in turn led to the creation of an EP's worth of material. Recorded in Stockholm with Robert Pehrsson at Studio Humbucker as well as Linus Björklund at Studio Ryssviken, before being crafted in mix by Tom Dalgety in the UK and then returning to Stockholm for mastering by Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios, Hamartia is a riotous encapsulation of everything that diehard fans demand from the Swedish crew - but, sharper, darker and laced with venom. These four new songs showcase a band in a robust state of health.
"The plan going forward is that Joseph and I will split the writing duties, just as me and Jonathan did before," says guitarist Adam Zaars. "The other difference this time is that we did work a bit closer with each other on these songs. On the last couple of albums, we've basically written our material separately. This time, even though Joseph wrote 'Axis Mundi' and I wrote the other two songs, I still went to Stockholm every other weekend for the entire Spring leading up to the recording, and we sat together and tried different things out. We've worked closer this time than we've done at least since 'The Children of The Night'. Comparing it to the last album, I'd say the new songs are a bit more cynical, harsher in a way."
Additionally, Zaars is already considering Tribulation's next move. “Fairly soon, I hope we can record something - an album before anything else," he concludes. "In some ways, I've already started writing, but I don't have a complete song to show anyone yet. I've got a lot of material, so we just need time to piece it all together...
We did a tour with Watain, Abbath and Bölzer last year and that was great, and this year we're going to focus on festivals...and writing new material!"

3x Grammy-nominated Nothing More, lauded as one of mainstream rock’s most powerful and distinctive acts, have teamed up with rock singer/songwriter Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf) who is featured on a new version of the single “Best Times” from Nothing More’s 2022 album Spirits via Better Noise Music. “Best Times (Feat. Lacey Sturm)” is out today (March 24), across all digital platforms and the group has also shared its music video.
The music video for “Best Times (Feat. Lacey Sturm)” was directed by Michael Lombardi (The Retaliators, Papa Roach, The HU) and takes an inside look at a couple’s relationship and how life’s ‘best times’ can sometimes pass us by without being acknowledged and is a reminder to appreciate those moments as they occur.
“This song is a real special one,” reveals Nothing More frontman Jonny Hawkins. “It’s definitely one of the most positive feel-good songs we’ve ever written and it obviously stands out on the album by being that ray of hope too. I didn’t think it could get any better, but when we thought about featuring another singer and Lacey’s name came up it was a no-brainer. She’s been a shining light and is one of those singers that makes you feel and believe every word out of her mouth whether you agree with it or not. We knew her voice would take it over the top… and that’s exactly what she did! We couldn’t be more proud to have her collaborate with us on this and to get it out to the world for everyone to feel and embrace when you need a song to help get you through.”
Sturm comments: “I connected with Jonny's story about his family struggles with his mother and sister. I love the painful beauty in any art that comes from wrestling with mental health and addiction. I've always looked for common ground with artists who deal with suicide prevention. My own struggle against self-destruction is also a struggle to not tear my loved ones apart. There is a perspective shift in this song. Like a suffocating cloud, the heaviness of life turns to thankfulness and even joy over what matters most. Pain and loss can turn the lights on inside us, allowing us to see the good, all the ‘Best Times,’ we couldn't see before. I'm relieved to be reminded by this song to remember what matters most and find gratitude. I need it.”
Nothing More will bring their riveting live performance to virtual audiences on Sunday, April 9 as they’ve partnered with VEEPS to host a livestream show from their headlining NYC tour stop at Irving Plaza. Tickets are available on VEEPS. The stop is part of NOTHING MORE’s “SPIRITS 2023” U.S. tour which stretches from March 31 in Richmond, VA until the band’s featured set at Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, OH on May 28 and features supporting acts Crown The Empire and Thousand Below. The rock quartet will then make their way overseas to hit several of the top rock festivals across Europe including Hellfest (France), Knotfest (Italy), Graspop (Belgium) and more in addition to a newly added headlining show in London, UK on June 19 at O2 Islington Academy. Find tour and ticket info at nothingmore.net.
Nothing More will be bringing copies of their debut graphic novel, Spirits Vol.1, (Z2 Comics) on upcoming tour dates for fans to purchase along with fulfilling all online pre-orders. The puzzle box narrative was written by Dan Watters (King Diamond’s Abigail, Lucifer, Azrael) and illustrated by Christian Rosado. Adhering to the themes of Nothing More’s recent Spirits album, Spirts Vol. 1 follows the lives of four individuals from 1952 to modern day, and examines how the unexpected manifestation of their spirit types alter and shape their destinies for a greater purpose. The spirit types were formed from the results of taking the band’s own meta-personality Spirits Test released concurrent with the new album.

Dissonant death metal outfit Nightmarer, which features current and former members of The Ocean, Convulsing, Gigan, War From A Harlot’s Mouth, and more, will release their second full-length, Deformity Adrift, via Total Dissonance Worship And Vendetta Records on May 5.
Today, the band release a music video for the track, "Hammer Of Desolation". Watch below:
Forged in 2014, the international collective known as Nightmarer set out to derive only the most extreme elements of their previous musical endeavours and take them to much more miserable and punishing levels. Two years later, the band hit the extreme metal underground with their debut EP Chasm. The furious whirlwind of low-end dissonance and pulverizing heaviness immediately took the scene by storm and paved the path to a record contract with Season Of Mist.
Nightmarer’s following full-length Cacophony Of Terror (2018) and their appearance on the 2019 edition of the Devastation On The Nation Tour, earned the band a strong, diehard following, while the addition of guitarist Keith Merrow (Merrow, Conquering Dystopia) in the same year, only further cemented their reputation as a band to watch closely.
In early 2020, Nightmarer parted ways with Season Of Mist to launch their own label, Total Dissonance Worship. Under that banner, the band released the single “Primordial Grit” and 2021 EP Monolith Of Corrosion to critical acclaim from both fans and critics alike.
By 2021, most of the band relocated to Portland, Oregon to finish the production of their long-awaited, second full-length: this year’s Deformity Adrift.
Inarguably the band’s most diverse work to date, Deformity Adrift ventures far beyond the conventions of the already unconventional genre of dissonant death metal, without surrendering an ounce of viciousness. A thirty-two-minute sonic behemoth, the record is at once confounding and ravaging. Strong nuances of industrial and doom metal can be heard throughout, the record’s nine tracks concluding fittingly with a suffocating wall of sound that leaves its listeners bruised, battered, and shaken.
Guitars on Deformity Adrift were recorded by Simon Hawemann at Sludge Studios, vocals and additional guitars were recorded by Keith Merrow at Merrowsound, all bass was recorded by Brendan Sloan at Overland, and drums were recorded by Marc Wüstenhagen at Dailyhero Recordings. The record was mixed and mastered by Raphaël Bovey at MyRoom Studio and comes adorned in the cover art of Jeanne Comateuse.
Nightmarer’s Deformity Adrift will be released by Total Dissonance Worship in the US and Vendetta Records in Europe on CD, vinyl, cassette, digital, and streaming formats. Find pre-orders here.

Ventura, California's heavy metal institution, Night Demon, have released a video for "Beyond The Grave", from their third full-length, Outsider, out now via Century Media Records. Watch below.
Jarvis Leatherby (vocals/bass) comments: "'Beyond the Grave' marks a pivotal moment in the Outsider album. This concept record follows a storyline, and here our main character finds himself in a dire situation, having to confront the darkest aspects of his own psyche. It's an ode to waging war and making peace with our own alter egos. The music video builds on these themes. We explore the darker aspects of ourselves, expressed on screen through magickal ritual and dark mirror gazing. We're immensely proud of this next single and video, and we hope it strikes a chord with our fans."
For more than a decade, Night Demon have defiantly flown the flag of traditional heavy metal, unwavering in the face of shifting industry trends and unscarred by global calamities. With new album Outsider, the band have challenged themselves musically and lyrically, pushing creative boundaries and evolving their sound far beyond their NWOBHM-worshipping origins into something truly singular.
