After reaching the 1 million plays on Spotify on December 2015 with The Attraction Of Opposites Ravenscry announces to be in the studio working on its third full length.

“We are in the Ravenstudio since some weeks” says the vocalist Giulia Stefani “and we are working at our best, we have a lot of material to work on and we can already say that it will be a concept album for sure”.

After One Way Out and The Attraction Of Opposites, Ravenscry isn’t stopping then, the Italian band is preparing to launch a new album sounding more elaborate and it’s searching for some new elements without sacrificing its distinctive sound.

THE RESISTANCE, the Swedish extreme metal band featuring former and current members of IN FLAMES and THE HAUNTED, will release its sophomore full-length album, "Coup De Grâce", on January 22 via earMUSIC. Asked how THE RESISTANCE compares to IN FLAMES, Jesper told Highware Daze: "Well, I would have to say, if I have to compare, THE RESISTANCE is a totally different band. The only common thing is that me and Glenn used to play in IN FLAMES. So, I guess, musically, it's much more simple. It's heavy and aggressive and it comes from another school, I would say. I wanted to do something that all of us wanted to do, like keep it simple [and have a] little bit more of death metal style. Also, we have some melodies, but they are very, very restricted, so to speak. So I would say for fans of IN FLAMES, do not expect to hear what they think they would. If you would call IN FLAMES the Ambassadors of Gothenburg sound, I would say that THE RESISTANCE — we're talking to a step back and have done something of a marriage between the Stockholm and Gothenburg sound."

Regarding how Ljungström became involved with THE RESISTANCE, Jesper said: "It started with me and Marco talking about starting something up again. We didn't want to do the dog years again; we just wanted to do the good stuff and have fun again. And we were talking about who should be the second guitar player, and I was, like, 'Well, I should call Glenn,' because I hadn't talked to him in ten years. We kind of drifted apart because of various reasons. He moved out of town. He got a family and has a quite demanding job. So I just called him up and asked, 'Do you want to dust off your old guitar and decide to jam with me again? And we'll see what comes up.' And he was, like, 'Hell yeah! I've been waiting for this call for years!' He was all excited. So we met up, we had a great time; it was like two weeks had gone by. He's the same jerk that he's always been and I love him to death. He just picked up the guitar and said, 'Well, I've had some ideas through the years.' 'Okay let's hear them.' And he started playing and my jaw was dropped! He hadn't touched the guitar for in ten years, and he's still one of the most amazing rhythm players there is. It's quite cool to have him back. For that reason, if you connect, you would see that actually the founders of IN FLAMES is now in this band together — in a whole different style."

THE RESISTANCE released its debut EP, "Rise From Treason", in North America on January 29, 2013 via earMUSIC. Another EP, "Torture Tactics", followed in February 2015.

THE RESISTANCE made its live debut on October 8, 2011 at Club Distortion in Stockholm, Sweden.

Strömblad quit IN FLAMES in February 2010 in order to continue receiving treatment for his alcohol addiction.

Gothenburg, Sweden-based death metal band, Miasmal, have announced the release of their third studio album, Tides Of Omniscience. This 10-track piece of inexorable and absolute death metal will be out on Century Media Records on March 4th.

Samm Dunn and BangerTV remember Motörhead's Lemmy, who passed away on December 28th following a short battle with cancer, with this raw and uncut 2005 interview from Metal: A Headbanger's Journey.

Speaking about his opinion on accusations of selling out and going commercial, Lemmy said: “Commercial is a funny word to use as an insult because being commercial just means more people bought your music, which is what you’re trying to do when you set out, to make the most people as possible hear your music, that’s why you do it, you know. And anybody who says, ‘I don’t want fame and fortune’, is full of shit. I don’t give a fuck who they are, you know, that’s rubbish.”

On Saturday, January 9th, the world will come together and celebrate the life Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister.

Family and close friends will observe a service at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Hollywood, commencing at 3 PM, PST and ending at 4:30 PM. With such limited space available on-site, Motörhead respectfully ask that you don’t attend the cemetery… but they want you all to be a part of this, so they are setting up a live feed of the service via the internet on Motörhead’s official YouTube channel.

Says Motörhead: “So wherever you are, PLEASE get together and watch the service with fellow Motörheadbangers and friends. Go to your favourite bar, or your favourite club, make sure they have access to an internet connection and toast along with us. Or simply invite your pals around and celebrate Lemm’s life at home. The Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood, which was late Motörhead frontman Lemmy's favourite bar, has expanded it’s upcoming tribute event. An update follows:

“Join us Saturday, January 9th as we say goodbye to a dear friend and loved one. We will open our doors at 2 PM. The memorial will be 21 and over only.

“ATTN!!! Due to the overwhelming and supportive response to Lemmy's memorial we are now using the entire Strip to compensate for overflow. The Rainbow will close from 5 until 9 PM for a private service, however the Roxy and Whisky will remain open to accommodate those looking to show their respects during this time.”

Lemmy Kilmister died on December 28th at the age of 70 following a brief battle with an aggressive cancer. Motörhead manager Todd Singerman revealed to Sky News that Lemmy went to the hospital two days after his birthday bash at LA’s Whisky A Go Go on December 13th because he wasn’t feeling well. Tests were done, and doctors discovered he had terminal cancer which had spread to his brain.

Singerman told Sky News, "Nobody had any idea, we just learned Saturday, two days ago, that he even had cancer and the doctor told him he had between two to six months to live. He goes today as I was making calls to Phil and Mikkey telling them to come on out so they could have a last goodbye while he was still upbeat and everything. He was feeling mighty low... He wasn't expected to die like that.

"He gets home (from tour), we have a big birthday party for him at the Whisky A Go Go. His friends came down and played. Two days later I could tell he wasn't feeling good so we took him to the hospital, they release him, then after the brain scan they found the cancer in his brain and his neck... The doctor comes with the result a couple of days later and says... it's terminal."

Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee told Sweden’s Expressen: ”Motörhead is over, of course. Lemmy was Motörhead. But the band will live on in the memories of many. We won’t be doing any more tours or anything. And there won’t be any more records. But the brand survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone.”

German thrash metal veterans DESTRUCTION will release their new album, "Under Attack", on May 13 via Nuclear Blast. The band started the recording sessions after the summer festivals last year and has been recording segments in various studios between September 2015 and January 2016. So far they have finished the drum recordings with Martin Buchwalter at Gernhart Studios in Germany, as well as completing some basic recordings, mixing and mastering with VO Pulver at Little Greek Studios in Switzerland. Comments DESTRUCTION bassist/vocalist Schmier: "We really took our time for this album. After the summer festivals, we went into the studio every couple of weeks to record brand new songs and ideas in between all the touring activities. We took several studio sessions instead of one long one, to keep the ideas fresh and have time later before the mix to change bits and pieces that we did not like. Maybe this was the most effective writing we did in the last years! Due the fact we had more time in between the albums, there was a lot of musical output and creativity, but also less pressure. From my point of view, you can definitely hear the crispiness in the songwriting and the kick-ass attitude we brought from the shows into the studio. The 'on tour into the studio on tour mode' was so effective that I wanna keep this method for the future!"

He adds: "How does the new record sound? For sure not like a band that is in its 33 years of existence: Efficient aggression: FAST — CATCHY — ORIGINAL!" DESTRUCTION's 30th-anniversary album, "Spiritual Genocide", was released on November 23, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2011's "Day Of Reckoning" was recorded at Gernhart Studios in Troisdorf, Germany with engineer Martin Buchwalter and was mixed by Andy Classen. The album featured guest appearances by Thomas "Angelripper" Such (SODOM), Andreas "Gerre" Geremia (TANKARD) and Ol Drake (EVILE). In addition, the "Mad Butcher"/"Release From Agony" lineup of DESTRUCTION — featuring guitarist Harry Wilkens and drummer Oliver Kaiser — reunited for one song.

Grammy Award-nominated Mississippi rock band 3 DOORS DOWN will release its sixth full-length album, "Us And The Night", on March 11 via Republic Records. On Wednesday, January 13, MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine was interviewed by Kirby Ray of the Cape Girardeau, Missouri radio station Real Rock 99.3. You can now listen to the chat below.

Asked if his friendship with MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson is "closer than ever" now, more than thirty years since they formed the band together, Mustaine responded: "No, that's not true. MEGADETH was already in its formative phase long before I even knew David Ellefson. The name MEGADETH didn't come up until after Dave and I had met. But there was another bass player before Dave."

He added: "Dave and I, we have a friendship that's been up and down over the years. I think our relationship is stable right now."

Mustaine was also full of praise for the band's latest additions, LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler and Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro, best known for his work with ANGRA. He said: "I love playing with these guys. Chris and I have become really close. And Kiko is a very, very intelligent guy. Granted, he's Brazilian, and there's a little bit of a language barrier, but the guy's brilliant. And we have amazing talks together, so we continue to get closer and closer as a guitar duo, which, I think, is really important, because, you know, if you are playing guitar together at this speed, it's kind of like synchronized knife fighting kind of thing: you need to know what's going on, or somebody's gonna get hurt."

He added: "It's really great to be able to have a band again. I think that if you ask Dave, he'll tell you that he's really happy playing with Chris, because Chris is such an exciting player to play with. And not taking anything away from any of the other players over time. We've had some really terrific players over the years. But sometimes we would have a really great drummer and a really good guitar player, or a really good drummer and a really great guitar player, but it wasn't that, at once, all four people were at the top of their field."

Regarding what Kiko has added to MEGADETH's forthcoming album, "Dystopia", Mustaine said: "Kiko had a lot of really great stuff that he'd done with [other] bands; ANGRA is one of them. He's done a lot of different types of music, so I had to kind of really watch and reel him in with some of the stuff to keep it within the metal vein, because he was so capable of doing so many things. So I think the question should be more, like, 'Can he do what he did on the record live?' because the stuff is so exotic and so high-octane. I'm really interested in seeing if he's gonna be able to pull it off live."

Ellefson was in MEGADETH from the band's inception in 1983 to 2002, when the group briefly broke up because Mustaine suffered severe nerve damage that left him unable to play. After Mustaine reformed MEGADETH with an all-new lineup in 2004, Ellefson sued his former bandmate for $18.5 million, alleging that Mustaine still owed him substantial merchandise and publishing royalties. In January 2005, the case was dismissed in court, and five years later, Ellefson rejoined MEGADETH.

"Dystopia" will be released on January 22 via Universal Music Enterprises / Tradecraft / T-Boy Records. The follow-up to 2013's "Super Collider" was recorded last year in Nashville, Tennessee and was produced by Mustaine. The CD was mixed by Josh Wilbur, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, ALL THAT REMAINS and GOJIRA.

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider guests on episode 185 of One On One With Mitch Lafon, which can be heard via the audio player below. During the interview, Dee discusses the upcoming Twisted Sister documentary We Are Twisted F***ing Sister, his forthcoming solo album Now, Lemmy, the Guns N' Roses reunion, David Bowie and much more.

When asked about his new solo album Now (coming later this year), Dee replied, "I like something new. I like something contemporary. This is going to be the new sound. No more head banging. No more throwing my body on the ground. It'll still be an intense rocking performance, but it's going to be more mainstream. I've been challenged to transform myself."

According to Billboard.com, MÖTLEY CRÜE's three final shows at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California (on December 28, December 30 and December 31) were seen by 37,000 fans, generating $2.7 million in box office revenue and placing the trek at No. 2 on the weekly "Hot Tours" list of top-grossing tours.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's one-and-a-half-year "The Final Tour" saw the band perform across five continents (North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia) for a total of more than 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing $100 million.

To celebrate their mark in rock music's history and in honor of their devoted fans, the band has confirmed the release of a full-length concert film of the final performance, which will also include exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of the last week of the tour, to be released later in the year. Produced and distributed by Live Alliance, the concert portion of the film was directed by Christian Lamb, while Jeff Tremaine, creator of the "Jackass" series, directed the documentary segment. The film will premiere in theaters worldwide, one night only, followed by pay-per-view in all cable/satellite/digital formats, with a DVD set to be released later on.

In addition to the live-concert film, MÖTLEY CRÜE are planning to release a major box-set of music down the line, as well as "The Dirt" feature film based on the band's best-selling 2001 autobiography, also to be directed by Tremaine, in the near future.

MÖTLEY CRÜE first announced plans for their two-year "Final Tour" by signing a Cessation Of Touring Agreement at a press conference in Los Angeles in January 2014, solidifying the end of their touring career.

Tommy Clufetos, who played drums on SABBATH's 2013 reunion tour, is apparently back on board for "The End", which begins on January 20 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Clufetos did not play on the 2013 SABBATH reunion album, "13", a role that was filled by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE drummer Brad Wilk.

Singer Ozzy Osbourne told The Pulse Of Radio at the time that Clufetos was gong to play on the record until producer Rick Rubin stepped in. "Tommy was offered the gig until Rick Rubin came along," he said. "Rick Rubin didn't want Tommy, and nobody told… It was a bit of a communication breakdown. Tommy was on the side waiting, and it just didn't work out, you know. It works out in the end."

Wilk and Clufetos had to get involved after founding SABBATH drummer Bill Ward withdrew from the reunion after initially agreeing to participate in it.

Ward has continually said that he would not join the reunion without a "signable contract," while the band has suggested that he wasn't physically capable of either recording or doing a full tour. Ward has insisted that he was capable of playing a full concert with the group.

Clufetos, who also hits the skins for Ozzy's solo act, has played in the past for ROB ZOMBIE, ALICE COOPER and others.

BLACK SABBATH has revealed that it will sell a new limited edition CD titled "The End" at the shows on its farewell tour. The disc will feature four previously unheard studio tracks left off "13", as well as live versions of four songs from the world tour the band did in support of that disc.

SABBATH recorded a total of 16 songs for "13", putting eight on the album and issuing four more on various deluxe editions. Bassist Geezer Butler told The Pulse Of Radio: "We went into the studio with, I think, 13 songs, which is why the album is called '13', but then when we were in the studio we wrote another three songs, which brought it up to 16 songs, and then we left it up to Rick Rubin to pick which songs would go on the album. And then we had the four left over and that's what we decided to do as a gig-only CD."

The four studio cuts are "Season Of The Dead", "Cry All Night", "Take Me Home" and "Isolated Man". They feature drums by Brad Wilk.

The live tracks, with drumming from Tommy Clufetos, are "God Is Dead?", "Under The Sun", "End Of The Beginning" and "Age Of Reason". The live cuts were recorded in Sydney, Australia, Auckland, New Zealand and Hamilton, Ontario.

"13", the first SABBATH album in 35 years to feature original members Butler, Tony Iommi and Osbourne, also became SABBATH's first No. 1 album in the U.S. when it was released in June 2013. The band abandoned plans for a follow-up after deciding that the upcoming trek would be its last.

Swedish metallers ENTOMBED A.D. will release their second album, "Dead Dawn", on February 26 via Century Media. The CD's first single, "Midas In Reverse", can be streamed below.

ENTOMBED A.D. guitarist and co-producer Nico Elgstrand states:: "I think it is safe to say that all of us in the band feel like we just have given birth to one tank each. Meaning, the pregnancy and delivery was everything but pleasant! Still, when watching our newest offspring play with their cannons and bombs, blasting everything around them to bits, we feel, just like any parent, pride and joy and wouldn't have it undone for all the money in the world!" The "Dead Dawn" cover artwork was created by WATAIN frontman Erik Danielsson. The CD production was handled by a team consisting of Tom Van Heesch and Jacob Hellner of Big Island Sound in Stockholm as well as Nico Elgstrand himself, who produced a majority of the tracks whereas Svante Forsbäck of Chartmakers mastered this new beast.

ENTOMBED A.D. will embark on a European tour in January with BEHEMOTH, ABBATH and INQUISITION. The trek will kick off on January 29 in Copenhagen, Denmark and will wrap on February 14 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In an interview with Revolution-Music.dk, Petrov stated about the band's decision to release "Back To The Front" under the name ENTOMBED A.D. in order to avoid a legal battle with ENTOMBED guitarist Alex Hellid who didn't want his former bandmates to use the ENTOMBED moniker: "It had to be done, because without an album you can't tour. I mean, you can tour, but if there's seven years between albums, it's ridiculously long. So we did the right thing, and we did what bands should do, and still do — release an album and go on tour and headbang and have a good time with friends, and that's what it's all about."

He continued: "There was too much bullshit — crying and whining about things. It's just ridiculous.

"[The name] 'ENTOMBED,' nobody can use it right now. But the lust for touring and playing music, it's what we do.

"Some people are comfortable staying at home, but then just step aside and let us do our thing. And sitting here, doing an interview, listening to bands, that's the way it should be.

"We added two letters, but it's still the same band — [only] without people that wanna stay at home, or take millions of years [coming up with] a [new] riff."

Asked if he thinks the ENTOMBED name has been damaged as a result of the drama surrounding the split with Alex Hellid and the decision to release an album as ENTOMBED A.D., Petrov said: "Nah, not really. A thousand people have a thousand different opinions — good and bad. But we do what we felt was right. And we're out here touring, and that's the most important [thing], I think. And leave the childishness aside and play metal, basically."

Italian symphonic metal kings RHAPSODY OF FIRE will release their new studio album, "Into The Legend", on January 15 via AFM Records.

RHAPSODY OF FIRE in June 2013 "respectfully" parted ways with their American guitarist Tom Hess due to "philosophical differences."

RHAPSODY OF FIRE released a live album, "Live - From Chaos To Eternity", on May 3, 2013 in Europe and May 7, 2013 in the USA via AFM Records. It was made available as two-CD digipak and as limited three-vinyl set. The material (a mixture of old classics and newer tracks) was recorded on the band’s European tour in spring 2012.

Staropoli and RHAPSODY OF FIRE guitarist Luca Turilli in 2011 announced their decision to go their separate ways.

Due to legal reasons, Staropoli is continuing under the RHAPSODY OF FIRE name. Turilli, on the other hand, is making his efforts available under the RHAPSODY moniker (RHAPSODY OF FIRE's original name), in which he is joined by guitarist Dominique Leurquin, bassist Patrice Guers, singer Alessandro Conti (TRICK OR TREAT) and drummer Alex Landenburg (AT VANCE, ANNIHILATOR, MEKONG DELTA, STRATOVARIUS).

TOOL guitarist Adam Jones told The Pulse Of Radio a while back how visuals have always played a major role in the band's music. "I've just always thought in vision, I mean, just, like, putting on headphones when I was a kid and trying to dream stuff while I was listening to music," he said. "I guess I still do that today when I play. But it's a lot more emotional than visual and I know that sounds pretentious, but it really is, what the four of us do. The visuals just kind of, like, bring themselves in it."

TOOL hasn't performed more than 20 shows in a single year since 2007.

Jones recently spoke to Rolling Stone about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's long-awaited follow-up to 2006's "10,000 Days" album. He said: "I'll tell you, it's wonderful. Things are really flowing and going really well, and I'm just blown away at the stuff that's coming together. I'm excited and can't wait for it to be done. It's something I've been missing for a long time [laughs], that beautiful collaboration that we have because we're all so different and have different tastes. But again, when you are all meeting in the middle and that thing you do that meets in the middle is just beautiful, it's very rewarding. So yes, I'm very happy."

He continued: "We probably have 20 potential song ideas now. Of course, 20 won't be on the record. We're just jamming. But I'll tell you, there's nothing better than having too many good songs then not enough. It's great. You pick your faves."

Ventura, California-based technical death metal unit, Inherit Disease, will release their third full-length on April 8th via Unique Leader Records. Australian metallers AVERSIONS CROWN have released a new song in support of their current U.K. tour. The track is named after the primordial deity who personifies darkness, Erebus, and is accompanied by a visualizer/lyric video, which can be seen below.

Finnish gothic metallers THE 69 EYES will release their eleventh album, "Universal Monsters", on April 22 via Nuclear Blast. The CD was recorded with producer Johnny Lee Michaels at his Helsinki-based Bat Cave Studios.

The video for the first single from "Universal Monsters", a song called "Jet Fighter Plane", can be seen below. The clip was directed by Ville Juurikkala, who has previously worked with NIGHTWISH, AMORPHIS and MICHAEL MONROE. Juurikkala also created the "Universal Monsters" cover artwork, which portrays THE 69 EYES members in movie monster lighting, showing them as classic and timeless creatures.

The first making-of "Universal Monsters" teaser trailer takes fans into the beginning of the album's recording sessions with producer Johnny Lee Michaels and drummer Jussi 69 in nighttime Helsinki.

Regarding "Jet Fighter Plane", Jyrki said: "The song has a dark early '80s kind of vibe. I wrote the lyrics those Cold War-era times in my mind. Strangely, the world has totally returned into those dark days again after recording the song."

He added: "It's been some 15 years since we recorded 'Blessed Be' and 'Paris Kills' albums with producer Johnny Lee Michaels here in Helsinki. You can consider 'Universal Monsters' as a follow-up to those records. Nobody makes this kind of music anymore."

German power metallers Brainstorm will release their new album, Scary Creatures, on January 15th in Europe, and on February 5th in North America. A six-minute audio montage has been made available featuring pieces of each of the ten songs that appear on Scary Creatures.

The band continues where they left off one and a half years ago with the previous release, and also mix and mastering was once again handled by Achim Koehler. Prosthetic Records has announced the addition of Arizona-based doom outfit, Sprit Adrift, to its ever-growing roster. Formed in 2015, Sprit Adrift immediately started writing and recording their debut EP Behind - Beyond, which Prosthetic will release worldwide on February 26th.  

Described by the band as "vital excercises in meditation and catharsis born out of necessity, not desire," the 28-minute EP presents listeners with a psychedelic expanse encompassed across two profoundly heavy, dynamically captivating tracks influenced by riff legends including Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy and Neurosis. Swedish heavy metal heroes SABATON recorded their concerts at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany and at their hometown festival Sabaton Open Air in Falun for an upcoming live DVD/CD package called "Heroes On Tour". Due on March 4 via Nuclear Blast, the set will contain two DVDs and a CD. The second DVD will feature two switchable viewing angles: live and studio.

SABATON bassist Pär Sundström commented: "We have always aimed to be a band people love to see live, for the simple reason we love to play live. With this DVD/Blu-ray release, we hope to share some of that feeling with you. We recorded two shows in case one is not enough for you!"

SABATON released a special, three-disc limited-edition deluxe version of its 2014 album, "Heroes", in the U.S. and Canada on April 7 via Nuclear Blast. Limited to 5,000 copies, this deluxe edition includes two discs of live audio recorded on the 2014 Sabaton Cruise in addition to the original ten "Heroes" album tracks. Released on May 16, 2014 via Nuclear Blast Records, the "Heroes" cover artwork was created by Péter Sallai. A number of bonus tracks were made available, including cover versions of songs originally written and recorded by METALLICA, BATTLE BEAST and RAUBTIER.

"Heroes" was tracked at The Abyss, the recording studio in Pärlby outside Ludvika, Sweden owned and operated by record producer and musician Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN).

Legendary grindcore act REPULSION paid tribute to iconic MOTÖRHEAD frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister by playing the MOTÖRHEAD song "The Hammer" during their January 9 concert at the Show Your Scars Festival in Los Angeles, California. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

Formed in the mid-1980s in Flint, Michigan, REPULSION is an early grindcore/death metal band. The group's material enjoyed modest, albeit posthumous, exposure when U.K. grindcore pioneers CARCASS distributed a REPULSION compilation titled "Horrified" on their own Necrosis Records label; a subsidiary of Earache Records. With interest in REPULSION rekindled, the band decided to reform in 1990.

REPULSION recorded two self-financed demos in 1991: "Rebirth" and "Final Demo". Later that year they released a single on Relapse entitled "Excruciation" before breaking up again in 1993. Carlson went on to play in CATHEDRAL while the rest of the band pursued short-lived projects or simply returned to everyday life. Relapse re-released "Horrified" again in 2003, drawing attention to REPULSION once more, and prompting the band to resume performing live. In 2004 REPULSION also released a live DVD.

In 2008, REPULSION opened for Swedish metallers AT THE GATES on their "Suicidal Final Tour" in California, along with DARKEST HOUR and MUNICIPAL WASTE.

Various bands have recorded covers of REPULSION songs, including NAPALM DEATH, IMPALED and ENTOMBED.

Vincent issued a statement last June confirming that he was no longer working with MORBID ANGEL guitarist Trey Azagthoth. He said: "Trey and I have accomplished amazing things together over the past 30 years and I wish him the best with his future projects. Out of respect for the legacy of these accomplishments, I encourage MORBID ANGEL fans to not take sides, because I am not." He added: "I look forward to sharing my new endeavors with all of you in the near future. Until then, stay Morbid!"

Azagthoth announced on June 15, 2015 that MORBID ANGEL had reunited with Steve Tucker and that they were working on material for the band's next record. Later that same day, Vincent, who rejoined MORBID ANGEL in 2004 after first parting ways with the band in 1996, issued a statement of his own claiming that he had not left the group and had not been asked to do so. Also on June 15, drummer Tim Yeung confirmed his exit from MORBID ANGEL, explaining in a statement: "There have been some lineup changes with MORBID ANGEL. Unfortunately, due to financial differences, I will not be continuing with [the band]… I wish Trey and MORBID ANGEL all the best. As for myself, I'm always up for the next opportunity life throws my way."

On June 18, 2015, Norwegian guitarist Destructhor (a.k.a. Thor Anders Myhren) announced that he had officially left MORBID ANGEL "due to issues of them wanting to work with someone more local." He added that this was "actually pretty good news to me, since I personally decided to leave MORBID ANGEL after the last tour we did in Europe in November/December 2014. It is definitely time for me to move on with the Norwegian extreme act MYRKSKOG. This is where I truly belong and exciting things are happening!"

MORBID ANGEL's controversial 2011 album, "Illud Divinum Insanus", which incorporated industrial and electronic elements into the band's traditional death metal sound, marked the group's first CD to feature Vincent since 1995's "Domination".

THE WINERY DOGS is the power trio featuring drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ADRENALINE MOB), legendary bassist Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG, TALAS, DAVID LEE ROTH) and guitarist/vocalist Richie Kotzen (MR. BIG, POISON).

Portnoy paid tribute to Bowie by saying: "Just thinking of all the ways David Bowie's music affected my life for the past 45 years when I began listening to him. I loved the song 'Memory Of A Free Festival' when my dad introduced me to it when it was released; I was about three years old.

"'The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars' to this day is still in my top five albums of all time (along with [THE BEATLES'] 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', [THE WHO's] 'Tommy', [PINK FLOYD's] 'The Wall' and [Elton John's] 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road'). An absolute masterpiece from the opening of 'Five Years' to the closing of 'Rock 'N' Roll Suicide'. I covered 'Rock 'N' Roll Suicide' on my 'Cover To Cover' CD with Neal Morse. Hard to believe Ziggy has now been reunited with two of his Spiders From Mars [bandmates]: Mick Ronson and Trevor Bolder.

"As much as 'Ziggy' is my favorite Bowie album, my two favorite songs of his did not appear on that album: both 'Space Oddity' and 'Life On Mars' are among my favorite songs EVER. Both of them absolute masterpieces in terms of writing, performance and production. The mellotron on 'Space Oddity' and the cellos on 'Life On Mars' both still give me goosebumps every single time.

"Two later career memories that really touched me:

"The song 'Slip Away' from the 'Heathen' album (written for two of my childhood TV faves Uncle Floyd and Oogie) still makes me cry every time I hear it. I am not exaggerating.

"His appearance on Ricky Gervais' 'Extras' was one of the greatest cameos of all time. My fave episode of the whole series.

"Finally... I don't think many people ever caught this, but look at the shirt I am wearing on the cover of THE WINERY DOGS' first album...yep, Ziggy Stardust is right there with me, Billy [Sheehan]and Richie [Kotzen]. And one of the unreleased covers we recorded during that first session was 'Moonage Daydream'.

THE WINERY DOGS' sophomore album, "Hot Streak", debuted at No. 30 on The Billboard 200 chart, having shifted 13,000 equivalent album units in the week ending October 8.

"Hot Streak" was released on October 2, 2015 in North America on Loud & Proud Records via RED (a division of Sony Music Entertainment) and in the rest of the world via earMUSIC.

Danko Jones have been confirmed to play a headline show for the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Backstage venue in Munich, Germany on January 15th. Mustasch and Godwave are on the bill as support. Tickets are available via the official Backstage website here.

The Backstage is one of the most popular metal / rock venues in southern Germany, playing hosts to hundreds of shows each year.
