MALRUN Release New Single ‘Justine’
Danish metal band MALRUN has released their new single ‘Justine’. It is the first single from Malrun's upcoming third album, Two Thrones, to be released worldwide via ViciSolum Productions on August 29th.
Justine is a testimony of the evolvement Malrun has undergone throughout the last two years of European touring with bands such as TREMONTI, EMIL BULLS and others. The band has incorporated the live experiences and the connection with the audience in the writing process, and as a result people will most likely find that Malrun anno 2014 sounds more mature, more massive and aggressive than ever before, yet the band has not forgotten the focus on the melodic aspects which people may relate to. As before the lyrical universe of Malrun has deeper underlying message and centers around the human shadow sides and duality, this time taking inspiration in the bizarre writings of an 18th century French author.

HATE Announces New Drummer
Polish extreme metallers HATE have announced the addition of drummer Pawel "Pavulon" Jaroszewicz to the group's ranks.
Commented HATE guitarist/vocalist Adam "ATF Sinner" Buszko: "We are proud to inform you that Pavulon has joined HATE as a full-time drummer! I must say this was not a hard choice, because we have known Pavulon for years and always admired his dedication to the music and development he has made being in groups such as CRIONICS, VADER, DECAPITATED and ANTIGAMA. Having played a couple of shows together, we now strongly feel that he is the right man in the right place. I have no doubt that his drumming skills will bring in some extra power to our live sound as well as new songs. He will be appearing on the upcoming album, which will be followed up with more details soon.
"We have been working on the new material for months now and I am hoping we get in the studio by June and start tracking.
"In a few days, we start European tour with KAMPFAR. Remember not to miss that!
"To sum up, I want to say we have long needed some new blood and energy and finally we got it. Now I am looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead to make HATE shine brighter than ever!"
HATE will take part in the Spreading The Plague MMXIV Tour, which will hit Europe in March/April. The band will team up with Norway's pagan black metal horde KAMPFAR to bring supreme blasphemy to 16 cites of Euroland. On the tour, which will start on March 28 in Munich, Germany, you will also see U.S. avantgarde black metallers VELNIAS and Norwegian melodic black metal act ISKALD as part of this prime tour package.
Commented Adam "ATF Sinner" Buszko: "We are very much looking forward to touring Europe again and I think the combined lineup for these shows is simply killer! As we are working on new tracks right now, you may expect some brand-nu-blaspehemy played on the upcoming shows for the first time! We've been waiting for a regular tour since the tragedy happened and I believe the time has come to hit the road again at full force. We will come back rejuvenated and hungrier than ever before, so be prepared for truly riotous shows!"
HATE's latest album, "Solarflesh", was released in North America on February 5, 2013 via Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2010's "Erebos" was recorded at Sound Division Studio in Warsaw with Filip "Heinrich" Halucha (VESANIA, DECAPITATED) and Arek "Malta" Malczewski (BEHEMOTH's sound guy). The effort was mixed at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland with producers Slawek and Wojtek Wieslawski (DECAPITATED, VADER).

BLATANT DISARRAY To Release New Full-Length Album; CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Reed Mullin Guests; Launch Video Streaming
BLATANT DISARRAY, the Raleigh based thrash metal band, is set to release their second full length album, The Harbinger, on May 13th. This will be the band’s first release on their new record label, Dirt Records. The band’s previous record, Everyone Dies Alone, was released on Tribunal Records in 2010.
The new album was recorded at Mike Schaefer’s own studio, Schaefer Sound Productions, in Raleigh, NC from March 2013 to January 2014. Over that 11 month time period, Schaefer personally produced, engineered, and mixed the record.
When asked about the decision to take such a large role in the production process Schaefer said: “I’m not sure if I recommend it to be honest. There were a number of times throughout the process when I thought it was just a bad, bad idea and I should really be paying someone else to do this. In music, nothing is ever perfect. You have to be willing to let it go at some point and be happy with what you’ve captured. That can be tough when you wear so many hats. Now that it’s done, I am very happy we chose to do it this way. It has definitely been a great experience.”
The Harbinger shows a definite progression in the band’s sound. This is due in part to the addition of two new members to the band during the writing process for the album: drummer Trey McLamb, and bassist Patrick Strickland. These two musicians brought a new energy and style to the band that is palpable in the new recording. A number of special guest performances push this new sound even further, including guest vocals by Reed Mullin of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY on 'Arise' and 'Born In A Body Bag'.
After taking a two-year break from the music scene to cope with the loss of original drummer and friend, Tim Worrell, Blatant Disarray has picked up where they left off, determined to make 2014 the best year in their 12 year career.
Guitarist Ryan Johnson added, “It was a tough couple of years, and I honestly didn’t know if the band would continue. But the passion for music dies hard, therefore we die hard and keep fighting the good fight. We hope you join us for the ride.”
Tracklisting:
'Arise'
'If Only'

Report: GWAR's DAVE BROCKIE Was 'Sitting Upright In A Chair' When He Was Found Dead
According to TMZ.com, GWAR frontman Dave Brockie (a.k.a. Oderus Urungus) was "sitting upright in a chair" when he was found dead at his home in Richmond, Virginia Sunday evening. An unnamed law enforcement source is reported as saying that suicide is not suspected and no note was found.
Richmond police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh said officers were called to a residence in the 4800 block of the city's West Seminary Avenue at 6:53 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a dead person. They found Brockie dead inside.
According to Waugh, detectives do not suspect foul play at this time.
Brockie's body has been sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
As a member of GWAR, Brockie performed on stage as Oderus Urungus, an intergalactic humanoid barbarian with devil horns and a meaty-looking face, carrying a long sword called an "Unt Lick."
GWAR was founded 30 years ago with Brockie at the helm, and became known for its brand of thrash metal as well as its boisterous and controversial stage antics. The group's video clips were also staples of the MTV show "Beavis And Butt-Head".

Australia's DESTRUKTOR Complete Work On Opprobrium Album
Australian black/death maniacs DESTRUKTOR have completed work on their second album, Opprobrium. Set to be released by Hells Headbangers later this summer, Opprobrium follows five years after the band's debut album, Nailed, also released by Hells Headbangers.
Amongst Australia's fertile black/death metal scene, Destrukor are widely hailed as one of the most diehard bands around, and are now reaching nearly two decades of self-described "extreme metal shenanigans." And the power-trio is back to desecrate once again, with songs like 'Prestiality' and 'Immaculate Deception' spelling out Destrukor's blasphemous aims in no uncertain terms: as founding vocalist/guitarist Glenn Destruktor aptly states, "It thrashes, deaths, blacks, and even dooms..."
Once again recorded at 3 Phase studios in Melbourne with Sam Johnstone, Opprobrium features the lineup of Glenn Destruktor, drummer Jahred, and Brad Ollis on bass.
A statement from Glenn Destruktor further reads: "Finally, after many hours in the Destrukor dungeon, we return to unleash Opprobrium, our sophomore full-length. Seven blasphemous hymns have been conjured, and we are ready to desecrate the underground once again! Nailed set the standard - Opprobrium raises the bar! With Opprobrium, we show that we are not scared to try new ideas, but will never mistake creativity for wimping out! Half the album sounds like we could have written it 15 years ago; the other half keeps it interesting, adds darkness, ups the intensity, and kicks your head in even harder!"
A split 7" with THRONEUM will be released shortly by Hells Headbangers, which will serve as a teaser for Opprobrium, and will feature a promo recording of 'Besieged', one of the seven songs set for release on Opprobrium. Cover and tracklisting to be announced shortly, along with official release date. | 0

PSYCHOTIC GARDENING Upload New Album Trailer; Release Features DEATH Cover, Guest Appearances From INTO ETERNITY, BROKEN HOPE Members
After lying low, deliberately and methodically to prepare new material while vocalist Chuck Labossiere filled in with BROKEN HOPE for tour dates in Europe and Canada, Winnipeg's death metal troopers PSYCHOTIC GARDENING have announced their return in 2014 with their forthcoming album Hymnosis, set for release on May 13th to follow up 2011's Humanitorium and their 2007 debut Hürdür.
Featuring nine heavy hitting assaults that include a cover of Death’s ‘Open Casket’ with a guest appearance from Tim Roth (INTO ETERNITY) and Chuck Wepfer (BROKEN HOPE), Hymnosis is sure to bang skulls with its full-throttle, go-for-the-throat execution of doom and black metal. In this release the band digs into its death metal roots for a concoction of their most vicious material while still hammering down on doom-laden monster riffs.
Both Andrew Wiens (guitarist) and Chuck Labossiere (vocals/guitar) comment on the upcoming release.
“Hymnosis, for us, is a defining album. It has some of the fastest stuff we’ve ever done and some of the most dark, heavy and crushing doom as well. This release is dynamic and we take you on a journey, the way a record was meant to. If we’ve done our job - and I think we have - you feel like it has taken you somewhere that somehow life has changed, shifted and moved underneath you.” - Andrew Wiens
"This album is special to me because I feel the band has outdone itself creatively. These guys really understand what Psychotic Gardening is all about artistically and have poured so much attitude and spirit into it. this is a record that's all its own, something that's unique to each member's style." - Chuck Labossiere
Hymnosis tracklisting:
'Origin of The Infection'
'Defile'
'Re-Hybridized Strain'
'Mindfold'
'Genome Degradation'
'Searing Cital'
'Garden Raiding'
'Open Casket' (Death cover ft. Tim Roth (Into Eternity) and Chuck Wepfer (Broken Hope))

CENTURIAN To Reissue Seminal Early Work Via Hells Headbangers
Hells Headbangers has announced April 29th as the release date for two early, seminal CENTURIAN releases: the band's Choronzonic Chaos Gods debut (1999) and the preceding Of Purest Fire demo (1997).
Choronzonic Chaos Gods is a veritable vortex of chaos magick executed with military precision. Centurian at this stage could accurately be described as death metal, but the ever-cyclonic, ever-coiling whirlwinds unleashed by the band take on a form more supernatural than physical. As such, Centurian's debut album found much favor with the black metal faithful at the time, as well as those who held hope for a flagging death metal scene; not for nothing was it released by the esteemed Full Moon Productions label.
Tracklisting:
'Damned And Dead'
'The Law Of Burning'
'Hail Caligula!!!'
'Misanthropic Luciferian Onslaught'
'Let Jesus Bleed'
'Blood For Satan'
'Soultheft'
'Cross Of Fury'
'In The Name Of Chaos'
The very aptly titled Of Purest Fire, Centurian's introduction to the world is a veritable conflagration of occult energy and seared-black death metal battery. Although the band would find acclaim in the metal scene with their subsequent debut album, Choronzonic Chaos Gods, it was here with Of Purest Fire where Centurian were at their rawest and most hungry, not to mention their most blackened, with cult covers of early MORBID ANGEL and INQUISITOR underlining this point in no uncertain terms; not for nothing was it later released on CD by the esteemed Full Moon Productions label.
Tracklisting:
'Intro: Evoking Demonstorms / Hell At Last'
'Soultheft'
'Blasphemy' (MORBID ANGEL cover)
'Better Off Burning'
'God Got Killed'
'Of Purest Fire'
'Damnation For The Holy' (INQUISITOR cover)
'Outro' | 0 | |

WAXEN – Side Project Of TOBY KNAPP To Release Agios Holokauston In May
Moribund Records has set May 27th as the release date for WAXEN’s Agios Holokauston. Waxen is the cult solo-project of metal vet and scene legend TOBY KNAPP (ONWARD, GODLESS RISING), and Agios Holokauston is Waxen's first album for Moribund and second overall.
A press release states: “But above all, Agios Holokauston is dark 'n' dazzling display of Knapp's songwriting acumen and technical mastery. Handling all instruments, complex 'n' coiling black metal is ripped asunder with Knapp's characteristic brand of shred, his six-string sorcery winding 'n' wending through all manner of riff catacombs yet always locating a haunting, poignant place for the listener to dwell. But no matter where Waxen's diabolical vision goes, Knapp never loses sight of heavy metal songcraft.”
Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
‘Suicidium’
‘Procession 11’
‘Destined For Division’
‘At War With Reason Itself’
‘With Hatred Be Destroyed’
‘Hollow Eyes’
‘Eight The Adept’
A statement from Toby Knapp reads: "Waxen is my personal, musical manifestation of the extreme negative polarity. Waxen's debut was recorded nearly a decade ago, and this follow-up Agios Holokauston was only made possible by a cloud of darkness that once again lingered over me that needed to be transformed into an art form. I recorded this in the most primitive ways to capture the true essence of black metal. Broken, tiny earphones were used as the 'microphone,' and all instruments were plugged into a 4-track and overdriven by 'maxing out' the unit itself. My aim is to reintroduce a strain of black metal that inspired me, bands like OCTINOMOS, ALGAION, early GRAVELAND, and CRAFT, just to name a few." | 0

POMBAGIRA Signs With Svart Records; New Album Due Later This Year
Magical and psychedelic UK group POMBAGIRA will be returning this fall with a new album to be released by Svart Records. Titled Flesh Throne Press, the work will be available on CD, double-vinyl LP, and digital.
Pombagira was formed in 2008 by Peter Hamilton-Giles and Carolyn Hamilton-Giles out of a desire to reset the controls for the heart of the heavy. Having set out as a more typical doom/sludge band, across the course of their previous five albums, they've turned their attention to exploring the psychedelic in musical composition. This was realized the most in their most recent release, Maleficia Lamiah, which received across-the-board praise for its innovative approach. This moved them away for just being notorious for their sheer volume, using a backline not dissimilar in stature to SUNN O))). Although this may not necessary be the complete emphasis for the band, they continue to be one of the loudest and most oppressive bands to witness live. However, this has been colored by incorporating a psych-o-delic light show.
Commenting on the imminent Flesh Throne Press, Peter Hamilton-Giles states, "In many ways, this album solidifies a connection between the written word composed within the Grimoire of the Baron Citadel to be published by later this year by Three Hands Press, which I am currently writing, and the ongoing ritual work to serve the forgotten and fallen. The Flesh Throne Press is therefore a reference to the visceral experience of the grave dirt that presses in on the flesh during the initiatory procedure for approaching the crossroads."
The band feels this new album encompasses everything it has done before. But in true Pombagira style, they have found new ways on how to push at the very limits of innovative music. In an attempt to bind the sorcerer to the spirit entourage that follows from taking every deviation, Flesh Throne Press explores the “nightside” like no other band.
Pombagira continue to grow in stature and prowess by continuing to develop a unique sound that has as much to do with the innovation of '60s psychedelic pioneers as it does with contemporary forms of presentation. This combined with their ongoing professional phenomenological interests in Vodou, witchcraft, and other forms of traditional religious practices, the band have managed to transcend the simple “occult rock” tag and have appeared on the other side of any clear label-making device. | 0

AXEWORK - Self-Titled Album To Be Reissued On CD In April
The release date for the CD reissue of AXEWORK's self-titled album from 1983 is set for April 18th via Karthago Records.
The self-titled album from this band from Ingolstadt, Germany was released in 1983. It was their first and last. The compositions weren’t just arbitrary, as with lots of “simpler” bands of those days; no, Axework had real talent. Though their songs are sophisticated, listening to them is quite easy and pleasant and they still sound surprisingly fresh and new.
Axework doesn't play pure heavy metal; there are some influences in the songs, but luckily the band wasn’t following the trends. Now we have an amazing timeless album which brings new facets to rock music.
One of the rarest vinyl of the early 80s is now released for the first time on CD. Influenced by URIAH HEEP and early ACCEPT a German hard rock / heavy metal classic is given to us who do enjoy classic's status by music experts. This release includes fine songs, outstanding vocals and a private pressing far above average production. From Karthago Records Heavy Metal Classics series with an exclusive booklet, band history and limited-confirmed authenticity in the shape of a hologram.
Tracklisting:
'Strangers'
'Lonely Man'
'Life Is Just A Game'
'Night Riders'
'Waisting Time'
'Robbery'
'Light And Time'
'Show Me The Way'
Band lineup:
John "Robo" Robinson – vocals
Günther Rupp – bass
Tom Peroutka – drums
Werner Reif – guitars
Gerd "Max" Zettel – keyboard | 0

MANILLA ROAD - Shadow Kingdom Records To Reissue Mystification Album In April
Shadow Kingdom Records has announced the latest in a string of brilliant MANILLA ROAD reissues with the Wichita, Kansas band's sixth album, Mystification.
Manilla Road's official sixth full-length is the last of what many longtime fans consider as their most classic period. Albums Crystal Logic, Open The Gates, The Deluge and Mystification are considered by many to be the bands best years. Even though they're one of the very few long time running heavy metal bands that are still putting out great records, those four albums are the golden years.
Mystification marks Manilla Road's first foray into the realm of thrash metal. The band has played with faster tempos on previous album, but this is a record that delivers an intensity comparable to early SLAYER. Manilla Road mainman Mark Shelton proves himself to be one of heavy metal's most skilled songwriters with this flawless mix of classic and thrash metal. This reissue is noteworthy for being the first edition of Mystification to be released on CD in the original song order along with the original mixing and mastering. This will be a huge treat for fans that have never heard the album this way because the re-issue done in the year 2000, was mixed and mastered differently along with the track order switched around. You'll finally be able to hear the way it was originally was back in 1987.
Tracklisting:
'Haunted Palace'
'Spirits Of The Dead'
'Valley Of Unrest'
'Mystification'
'Masque Of The Red Death'
'Up From The Crypt'
'Children Of The Night'
'Dragon Star'
'Death By The Hammer'

LIFE OF AGONY To Return To The Stage This Summer
LIFE OF AGONY will perform in Europe this August, one of the first shows since the group's lead singer Mina Caputo (formerly known as Keith Caputo) came out as transgender in 2011. The concert will take place at Belgium's Alcatraz Metal Festival on Friday, August 8. The famed "River Runs Red" lineup, rounded out by guitarist Joseph Zampella (a.k.a. Joey Z), bassist Alan Robert and drummer Sal Abruscato, is excited to take the stage together once again after a three-year hiatus.
"We've helped so many people around the world cope with their emotional struggles through our music, it was time to get back out there," said Robert regarding the group's decision to reunite for the upcoming show. "Our songs connect with people on an emotional level because they were written out of real pain and hardship. It doesn't matter if you're white, black, blue, green, gay, straight, trans or whatever. Our fans know it comes from a real place and have stood by us. We've always worn our hearts on our sleeves. That is just who we are and that is something that will never change."
Mina Caputo spoke about the band's future plans during a radio interview in June 2011. He said, "We realize that LIFE OF AGONY has become an extremely nostalgic act and the music that used to not be dated, in our eyes, is dated, and the whole situation is dated. It's a nostalgia, and we don't want to take advantage of that nostalgia anymore, nor do we wanna take advantage of the fans. We've got three shows [in July 2011] and it's probably gonna be the last shows that we do for a very long time. In fact, we just may call it quits. Because we feel like we set out to do what we needed to collectively. We're very honest people, we love each other dearly, but we just can't get it on; we can't turn each other on in the studio. We hit a brick wall together, and it ain't cool. So there's probably not gonna be a new [LIFE OF AGONY] album, nor a new single… So people better start getting used to [the 2005 album] 'Broken Valley', because that's probably the last piece of music that they'll hear from the band."
On April 3, 2010, I Scream Records recorded and filmed LIFE OF AGONY's performance at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, Belgium, the second show of the band's exclusive European "20 Years Strong" tour. The "20 Years Strong - River Runs Red: Live In Brussels" live album — which is a digipak combo release containing a CD of the entire concert as well as a DVD with a 10-camera production of the show, an on-the-road documentary and much more — was released on July 19 in Europe and July 27 in the USA.
LIFE OF AGONY played sporadic shows over the course of the six years after completing its successful touring cycle for the 2005 Epic Records release, "Broken Valley".

New Photos From KURT COBAIN Death Scene Released
The Pulse Of Radio reports that Seattle police have released photos to the press that were part of four undeveloped rolls of film taken at the home of NIRVANA frontman Kurt Cobain on the day he was found dead of a self-inflicted shotgun wound. According to USA Today, the police had Detective Mike Ciesynski revisit the files in anticipation of media interest in the 20th anniversary of Cobain's death, but determined that neither the photos nor any of the existing evidence offered anything new.
Among the things shown in the photos, one displayed a box with a spoon and needles, half a cigarette and sunglasses. Another showed cash, a cigarette pack and a wallet with what looks like Cobain's ID next to the closed box.
Ciesynski wrote on the Seattle Police Department's online blotter that any conspiracy theories still surrounding Cobain's death were "completely inaccurate. It's a suicide. This is a closed case."
The singer/guitarist's body was discovered on April 8, 1994 when an electrician came to his house, three days after police determined that he had shot himself.
Earlier that year, Cobain had tried to kill himself in Rome by taking an overdose of tranquilizers.
NIRVANA will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on April 10 — five days after the 20th anniversary of his death — alongside KISS, Linda Ronstadt and others. | 0

ENABLER Locks Tour To New England Metal & Hardcore Fest; Announce New Drummer And Album
After several months off the grid, metallic punk radicals ENABLER now pledge full-on annihilation in 2014, today announcing their revamped lineup, a plethora of upcoming live actions, and the completion of their second LP.
Since the fall release of Flies, things with the band have been seemingly quiet on the public front, but the band has been working harder than ever behind-the-scenes, and now confirm that 2014 will be their most frantic and busy year yet, beginning with the announcement of their newest lineup. Enabler officially confirms Ryan Steigerwald as their full-time drummer. Steigerwald previously hails from the Chicago band THE OX KING, in addition to having filled-in as RINGWORM's drummer for the past nine years, and now takes the throne as Enabler's first full-time skinsmasher since the departure of FALL OUT BOY's Andy Hurley in 2012.
Having already performed locally with the stripped-down new lineup - rounded out by bassist/vocalist Amanda Daniels and founding vocalist/guitarist Jeff Lohrber - Enabler has also been secretly recording their latest material over the past few months, and just this week put the finishing touches on their second LP, which will see release later this year; detailed info will be available soon.
The band will tour harder than ever in 2014, the first major trek of the year now confirmed to embark on April 10th as the trio forges across the country on their way to rip shit up at the sixteenth annual New England Metal & Hardcore Festival in Worcester, Massachusetts on April 17th. On the opening evening of the gigantic festival, Enabler will join The Compound labelmates, Philly's d-beat activists, COP PROBLEM, as well as ALL THAT REMAINS, BLEEDING THROUGH, BROKEN HOPE, FALLUJAH, OCEANO, SCARS OF TOMORROW and others. From there, Enabler and Cop Problem will share stages in four more cities before Enabler forges homeward. Other standout spots on the tour include Skeletal Lightning Fest II in Champagne, Illinois, Forward Ohio Fest in Columbus and more.
Subsequent to the tour, Enabler is already confirmed to perform at Pouzza Fest in Montreal this May, followed directly by their first time invading Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore, and No Tomorrow Fest in Appleton, Wisconsin, with their participation in at least three more major North American tours being confirmed for announcement in the coming weeks.

METALLICA: Official Performance Footage Of 'The Lords Of Summer' From Bogota
METALLICA debuted a brand new song called "The Lords Of Summer" on Sunday night (March 16) during the opening show of the band's South American tour in Bogota, Colombia. As promised, the band played a nearly all-request set, with 17 songs chosen online by fans prior to the gig and the last slot filled by the new track.
METALLICA has just posted official footage of "The Lords Of Summer" live debut via the band's official YouTube channel. Check it out below. Drummer Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone that the new song "is fairly representative of where our creative headspace is at right now. It's one of those things that's like, 'Here, we're writing and we're creating.'"
Guitarist Kirk Hammett told The Pulse Of Radio that coming up with music is not a problem for the band. "We're a band that never has a shortage of ideas," he said. "You know, you hear about these bands that are like, oh, they're sitting in the studio and they don't have any songs, what are they gonna do? That's not METALLICA. METALLICA's problem is the total opposite: we have too many ideas, which ones are we gonna use. And so that's pretty much how it stands with us."
Ulrich cautioned, however, that "The Lords Of Summer" may not even end up on METALLICA's next album at all, or at least not in its current form. He explained, "We did the same thing when we went out and played a bunch of dates in 2006. We were writing and played two different new songs over the course of that summer, and none of them made the record (2008's 'Death Magnetic')."
The Metallica By Request tour will hit Europe this summer, with a single North American date confirmed in Montreal, as the band continues working on its 10th studio album. The rest of METALLICA's "by request" show in Bogota featured such "rarities" as "Master Of Puppets", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", "Sad But True", "Fade To Black", "One" and "Enter Sandman".

SLASH Says It's 'None Of His Business' Which Members Of KISS Get Inducted Into ROCK HALL
During an appearance at this year's South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, legendary guitarist Slash, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012 as a member of GUNS N' ROSES, was asked by Artisan News about the Rock Hall's decision to induct only the original KISS lineup and not honor KISS' longtime guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer.
"It's one of those things where, having been in that sort of Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame situation, where original members and not original members, and this and that and the other… They're gonna do what they wanna do and it's none of my business to have a real public opinion about it," Slash said (see video below). "I mean, I'd like to see the original [KISS] guys there."
KISS frontman Paul Stanley told The Pulse Of Radio that for the April 10 induction ceremonies in Brooklyn, the Rock Hall was unbending in its decision to ignore the other members of KISS that joined following Peter Criss and Ace Frehley's respective departures.
"Bringing up the idea of inducting other members other than the original four, which is a very valid argument considering that there are people that played on multi-platinum albums and played for millions of people and were very important to the continuation of this band," he said. "The fact that when this was brought up, it was shut down as a non-starter. I don't appreciate that as somebody who is a self-appointed expert."
Simmons and Stanley have chosen to have Thayer and Singer dress up as Criss' and Frehley's respective "Spaceman" and "Catman" personas (designs owned by Simmons and Stanley).
Frehley left KISS after the band's 2002 "Farewell" dates, saying afterwards that he took the word "farewell" seriously.
Criss claimed that his contract with KISS wasn't renewed in March 2004.
Both charges have been disputed by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.
The 29th annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 10 at Barclays Center.
The television broadcast will premiere on HBO on May 31.

Metal Musicians React To GWAR Frontman DAVE BROCKIE A.K.A. ODERUS
Members of DISTURBED, TESTAMENT, LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED, MACHINE HEAD, SHADOWS FALL and DEVILDRIVER are among the musicians who have reacted to the passing of Dave Brockie, better known as Oderus Urungus, the founder and lead singer of renowned Richmond, Virginia metal band GWAR. Roommates reportedly found Brockie's body at his home Sunday evening (March 23). Detectives do not suspect foul play at this time and the Medical Examiner's Office will determine cause of death.
Alex Skolnick (TESTAMENT):
"Waking up 2 news of the loss of my friend Dave Brockie (aka Oderus Urungus). In shock, sad."
Chris Kael (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH):
"Just read about the passing of Dave Brockie — Oderus Urungus from GWAR. We had the privilege of playing with GWAR just one month ago at Soundwave festival in Australia. Dave was always right there on the side of the stage that FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH were playing on — watching every band, laughing and enjoying life. As he entertained us in life, may his death remind us that life is short. Tell the ones around you that they are loved. Live life with a smile and a laugh. Just as Dave and I shared a laugh while talking at Soundwave. We love you. Each and every one of you. R.I.P. Dave Brockie — Oderus Urungus."
David Draiman (DISTURBED):
"SADDENED TO HEAR, RIP; GWAR Frontman Dave Brockie A.K.A. Oderus Urungus Dead At 50."
Phil Demmel (MACHINE HEAD):
"Much love and respect out to the Brockie family and GWAR camp. Sad loss."
Chris Beattie (HATEBREED):
"R.I.P. Dave Brockie"
Kevin Skaff (A DAY TO REMEMBER):
"Sad to hear about GWAR's singer Dave Brockie passing. He was such a nice guy to all of us in ADTR. RIP Oderus."
Mark Morton (LAMB OF GOD):
"I'm so lucky to have known Dave Brockie. Godspeed my friend. We love you."
THE AGONIST:
"THE AGONIST never had the privilege of touring with GWAR but we know from many friends that Dave was as unique and entertaining a person in real life as he was on stage. A true talent. RIP Dave Brockie."
ORIGIN:
"Sad day. RIP Dave Brockie aka Oderus Urungus of GWAR."
Brad Fickeisen (ex-THE RED CHORD):
"I can't believe it. Dave Brockie, you will be missed. An inch of a mile in time, I spent over 6 months of my life with you and the GWAR family. You are one of the most genuinely honest and caring people I've met along the way. I will miss your comedic genius. Safe travels back home. Sending my best to the rest of GWAR and friends."
RINGWORM:
"Sad news. Whether you liked GWAR or not, here's no denying the great talent, creativity, humor and unabashed social commentary that Dave contributed to this shitty planet. He's going to be missed by many. RIP Dave."
James Monteith (TESSERACT):
"RIP Dave Brockie, without a doubt one of the biggest characters in metal. The beheading of Tony Abbott will be with me forever."
Violent J (INSANE CLOWN POSSE, via Billboard.com):
"I am devastated to hear of the passing of Oderus Urungus (Dave Brockie). GWAR are true pioneers of the underground and without them there would have been no blueprint on how to do-it-yourself in the world of music. Oderus was one of our true heroes and he recently appeared on 'ICP Theater' and we had plans to do a Halloween tour together. His passing is a terrible loss to the world and we will miss our friend greatly."
DARKEST HOUR:
"By now to many people have posted this info, and as much as we want this to be a joke, it must not be. Our heart is with the good dudes in GWAR and the rock community in RVA, This is just devastating. Dave was one of the most badass OGs we have ever toured with. No words can contain his awesomeness and his memory will live on with us and his music. So honored to have been able to share the stage with him and the boys. On to the next dimension Dave… but those of us here we will miss you for eternity!"
CANCER BATS:
"RIP, Dave Brockie, aka Oderus Urungus. We were so fortunate to have toured with Brockie and GWAR a year an a half ago. Day one of tour he walked into our dressing room, and welcomed us into the GWAR camp with a huge grin and open arms. We bonded together about him being Canadian like us and we were shocked at how friendly and down to earth someone who's been in such a legendary band for 30 years could be. It's crazy to think, when you can remember being about 11 years old and hearing this amazing band for the first time and then 20 years later we were touring together and hanging out as friends! Our minds were blown! GWAR and Dave Brockie have always represented the best parts about music to us. The kind of band that cut through all the horseshit of mainstream pop culture and pushed all the boundaries while always teaching us not to take ourselves too seriously. At our hometown show with GWAR, Oderus came up on stage and performed 'Sabotage' with us that night! What an awesome moment that was for us and a special memory we will always cherish. Thank you, Brockie, you made 4 kids from Canada beyond happy that night! We will miss you brother! You are one of a kind! Scumdogs forever!"
Randy Blythe (LAMB OF GOD):
"I got a very sad call tonight from my buddy Chris Bopst, who was one of the original members of GWAR. My friend Dave Brockie, a.k.a. Oderus Urungus, the singer of GWAR, has left the building and taken off back to his home planet. He was 50 years old.
"I do not know details of why he died yet, just that he passed away at home and his roommates found him.
"When someone dies, a lot of the time people will say, 'Oh, he was a unique person, really one of a kind, a true original.' Most of these people no idea of what they are talking about; they obviously had never met Dave.
"Dave TRULY WAS ONE OF A KIND. I can't think of ANYONE even remotely like him. That's VERY HARD TO SAY.
"My band learned how to become a real touring band from GWAR. They gave us out first shot at this thing.
"I learned many things from Dave, many of which I am eternally grateful for, and some of which I am deeply ashamed of.
"I took this picture at his birthday party a few months ago — Dave kissing his Oderus birthday cake.
"Right now, if I were to truly honor Dave in the way HE would do it if it were ME that had died, I would make a completely tasteless joke about his death. But I do not have the stomach for that — Dave would, but not me. He never put much stock in 'limits.'
"Richmond has lost one of its most creative people.
"This is a crying shame to me.
"Thank you, Brockie, for all the crazy shit you did. Thank God you existed, so you could do it and I didn't have to. It was an honor to know you, to be your Shaky Slave, to serve in the Blood Vomits along side you (let's ride!), and to be soaked by your sweet cuttlefish.
"RIP Dave Brockie. Oderus, enjoy your trip back home."
Tony Foresta (MUNICIPAL WASTE):
"I'm so devastated right now. One of the most fun, brilliant, inspirational and creative people I've ever had the privilege to call a friend has passed. I'm going to miss you so much, pal."
Dez Fafara (DEVILDRIVER, COAL CHAMBER):
"Rest in peace, my brother!"
EMMURE:
"We are deeply saddened by the news of our fellow comrade passing away. Dave was a admired individual amongst us. He spoke highly of EMMURE and whether he knew it or not, we were very passionate about him as well. R.I.P., Oderus Urungus. GWAR FOREVER."
Ben Orum (ex-ALL SHALL PERISH):
"Dave, You were a creative genius. Thank you for bringing so much joy to me and my friends as we grew up with GWAR. RIP."
Jason Bittner (SHADOWS FALL):
"RIP Oderus (Dave Brockie) from GWAR. You will be missed by all of us in SHADOWS FALL."
Mark Holcomb (PERIPHERY):
"Sad to hear about Dave Brockie's passing. 50 is far too young. RIP."
Danko Jones:
"RIP Oderus Urungus a.k.a. Dave Brockie of GWAR. Someone I always wanted to meet. Born in Ottawa, he was Canada's greatest Canadian."
Jeff Kendrick (DEVILDRIVER):
"RIP Dave Brockie, I am going to miss you, Oderus Urungus."
VALIENT THORR:
"Oh no. Just heard terrible terrible news. RIP Dave Brockie. I don't know what to say right now."
Devin Townsend:
"Ah shit... R.I.P. Dave Brockie. One of my favorite people ever, and a good friend. :( Person closest to his primal nature of all times."
Brendon Small (DETHKLOK):
"RIP Dave Brockie. I can't believe it. Hilarious, satirical, creative pioneer. He made the genre so much fun. God dammit."
Philip Labonte (ALL THAT REMAINS):
"My timeline is awash in memories. I'm a really sad dude today. I'm sure Dave would be touched. But then Oderus would touch you, with a sword, and feed you to a giant worm."
Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein (MISFITS):
"Dave Brockie…one of the most genuine people in this business who I have ever met...I've toured with him many, many times with the MISFITS… We were going to do our first DOYLE tour with him and our GWAR family. Dave was actually one of the funniest, nicest, most insane and talented human beings I have ever met. It was always a pleasure to be around him and all those guys. When we toured with them, it was like an army of insane monsters. They are all my family and my heart is broken today. Hail Oderus Urungus!!! A dear friend…" | 0

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH: 'The House Of The Rising Sun' Video Released
The official video for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's surprising cover of the classic folk song "The House Of The Rising Sun" can be seen below. The song is the next single from the Las Vegas-based band's recently released album, "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 2". The disc came out on November 19, 2013 and is the second half of a two-record set, with "Volume 1" coming out in July 2013.
The gasoline-soaked cinematic video was filmed in the high deserts of Nevada, directed by FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory in conjunction with Thought Pirates Films' Brian Neal, while Steve Darnell of the famous Welder Up Garage built the cars and handled the set design.
Zoltan explains: "This video was an experiment, the initial step toward something we always wanted to do, which is to make a full-length DEATH PUNCH movie somewhere down the line. We jumped into this knowing that we'd shoot more footage than we could possibly fit in one music video. We went out there with two helicopters, two gyrocopters, twenty-something crazy cars, a big cast and an arsenal of cameras. We ended up with so much amazing material, the hardest task was to compress it down into a three-minute video, so we made an extended version with a long intro and we are making an even longer 'director's cut' as we speak."
According to The Pulse Of Radio, the original author of "The House Of The Rising Sun" is unknown and the song's roots may date back to the 16th century.
The oldest known existing recording is by Appalachian artists Clarence "Tom" Ashley and Gwen Foster, who recorded it for Vocalion Records in 1934.
The most successful commercial version was recorded by the English rock group THE ANIMALS in 1964, which was a No. 1 hit in the U.K., the U.S., Sweden, Finland and Canada.
The members of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH discussed in a recently released video clip how they changed up the classic song to give it a hard-rock vibe, most notably, by switching the song's time signature from 6/8 to 4/4.
"We had the idea to do this for a while," explained guitarist Zoltan Bathory. "The interesting thing about this song is that [it's] actually in a time signature of 6/8 which is a waltz… and rock music and waltz doesn't necessarily mix right."
He continued: "So basically the challenge was: 'How do we make this song work? How do we take away that goofy vibe and how do we make it into a rock structure?'"
"The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 2" sold 77,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart.
The first half of "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell" debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart, selling 113,000 copies in its first week of release.
