ORDOG Completes Work On New Album
 Finnish doom metal band ORDOG has completed work on its third album, "Remorse", due later in the year via Violent Journey Records. The seven-song CD contains over 70 minutes of music.
The track listing is as follows:

Commented Jussi Harju (keyboards): "We started composing remorse shortly after 'Life Is Too Short For Learning To Live' was released. In a very short time, Valsu had nine songs ready and after some exploring I was able to compose the keyboards.
"Keyboard-wise, the album has two sides, a more melodic, beautiful side and a more haunting, monotonous side.
"As a whole, the album is more heavier and slower when compared to our earlier work. There are few faster parts here and there but this time they have no major role in any of the songs. There are no short tracks either except for meant to be an end which is an outro track mostly played on the piano.
"Favorite tracks: 'Abuse', 'Boneyard Horizon' and 'Human Shell'."
Valtteri Isometsä (guitars, bass, drums): "This album has been the hardest one to record for the band because of the situations in our personal lives and the fact that we are now living in distinct cities around Finland. But I'm very proud of this album as it appears to be the most personal one for me. Tracks such as 'Boneyard Horizon', 'Shadow Land' and 'Human Shell' tells my feelings of the past two years.
"I hope you'll enjoy this record as much as I do."
Aleksi Martikainen (vocals): "This was the hardest album for me to record vocals mentally and physically, but at last I'm proud to say that the longtime work shows impressing results.
"Lyrical content reflects the feelings of personal remorse and frustration in life. Simple as that. This album also contains lyrical work from Jussi and from Valtteri, [which] is a great thing!
"It's difficult for me to pick favorite song from this album, but I think 'Betrayed' and 'Shadowland' are the ones which are closest to me.

WARMEN Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary With Helsinki Concert; Video Available
 WARMEN, the brainchild of CHILDREN OF BODOM keyboardist Janne Wirman, celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a concert during the Helsinki Metal Meeting weekend on February 18 at Dante's Highlight in Helsinki Finland. The band's third live performance ever included guest appearances by Alexi Laiho (CHILDREN OF BODOM) on a cover version of ROCKWELL's "Somebody's Watching Me", Timo Kotipelto (STRATOVARIUS), Finnish pop/rock queen Jonna Kosonen (JONNA'S PROBLEM) and Pasi Rantanen (ex-THUNDERSTONE).

DIABOLIC: \'Excisions Of Exorcisms\' Cover Artwork Unveiled
 Florida-based extreme metallers DIABOLIC will release their fifth full-length album, "Excisions of Exorcisms", on April 20 via Deathgasm Records. The CD was recorded at D.O.W. Studios in Seffner, Florida with producer Juan "Punchy" Gonzalez (MORBID ANGEL, TERRORIZER, UNHOLY GHOST, live sound for NILE). The cover artwork was created by Joe Petagno (MOTÖRHEAD, MARDUK, KRISIUN, ANGELCORPSE) and can be viewed below.

WHITESNAKE Signs With FRONTIERS RECORDS
 Frontiers Records has announced the signing of legendary rock band WHITESNAKE.
Singer David Coverdale and the rest of the group have already started composing new material that promises to deliver one of the finest chapters in WHITESNAKE's career. "We are off to a very good start, with the new songs taking positive shape. It feels good, fresh and exciting," explains Coverdale.
According to a press release, WHITESNAKE's next CD will be "a solid, natural progression from their last opus, the successful, critically acclaimed 'Good To Be Bad' album, awarded by the influential Classic Rock magazine as 'Best Album of the Year' in 2008." "As always, we want to take it to the next level," states Coverdale. "I feel that with the last album we achieved a strong WHITESNAKE 'cocktail' that comfortably embraced and mixed all the previous musical aspects and styles of the band's history, while taking our identity a little further... all on one album."
Coverdale said the production team for the new album will most likely be the infamous Brutal Brothers, or Los Bros Brutalos, who handled the recording of "Good To Be Bad".
"The new songs are in the very familiar and recognizable WHITESNAKE territory of soulful, bluesy, melodic power rock, with a couple of ballads thrown in for good measure," the singer said. "It can't be a WHITESNAKE album without ballads, mate!"

CELESTY Announces New Singer
 Tony Turunen, the brother of former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen, has joined the Finnish power metal band CELESTY as the group's new lead vocalist.
"This feels awesome!" Tony says in a statement. "This is a new and interesting challenge for me. I'm eagerly waiting to see what the future holds for me and the band."
Dozens of singers applied for the position, but in the end the decision was easy and unanimous. "He's not only a great singer, but also a talented lead vocalist with a very powerful stage presence. Plus he's a great guy!" summarized drummer and composer Jere Luokkamäki.
CELESTY's search for a new vocalist began in December. Even if the band was sure whom they wanted, the new vocalist had to wait for the confirmation until February.
"A good friend of mine mentioned that CELESTY was looking for a new lead vocalist," Tony said. "Since I had listened a lot to their latest album, 'Vendetta', I decided to apply for the position. Of course, I hoped they'd choose me, but I was still surprised when the band invited me to meet them in a studio. Eventually I recorded vocals for three songs in January. After some time, which actually felt reeeaaally long, the band welcomed me to be their new singer."
He added, "I feel positive about the future, and I already have lots of ideas for the band. I will do my best and be creative, both in the studio and during live shows.
"My expectations for the band are extremely high!" concluded Tony, whose first live show with CELESTY will take place in March.

SEPULTURA Frontman\'s MUSICA DIABLO: Rough-Mix Version Of New Song Posted Online
 MUSICA DIABLO — the São Paulo, Brazil-based thrash metal project featuring SEPULTURA singer Derrick Green, guitarist André L.A. (NITROMINDS), bassist Ricardo Brigas, guitarist André Germani Curci (KORZUS, THREAT) and drummer Edu Nicollini (NITROMINDS) — spent the month of January recording 11 songs for its debut album. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Live To Buy", "Twisted Hate", "Work Out" and "The Flame Of Anger".
Commented the band: "During this and the next week, the debut album from MUSICA DIABLO is being mixed and mastered. Containing 11 songs, the album will be released hopefully this year (label not [determined] yet).
"Yesterday, in order to save time discussing about the mix levels, we uploaded two tracks (not the final mix!) on the Internet, and somehow the songs have seem to have leaked. Those songs don't have a title yet, nor they are mastered.
"We are aware that the speed of Twitter is by far faster than the speed of light, so we decided after a quick telephone meeting with André to leave it on the web, since this is not the final product.
Added André L.A.: "We don't know what happened, [but] it really doesn't matter now.
"We had a lot of email correspondence and a lot of us passing the downloadable link to exchange opinions about the mix, instrument levels, talking about the title and so on. We became aware of the leak when a friend of mine found the song over a popular Brazilian file-sharing platform and called us. A bit later it was the news site zonapunk.com.br contacting us and telling the same story!!!! It was just a matter of time and shortly the Sepularmy (SEPULTURA fan club) was spreading the news on Facebook.
"Who cares? A song without title and without mastering or final mix will not harm anyone anyway!
"If you want to check the song out be our guest!"

 Entertainment reporter Nicole Brown conducted a short interview with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland on the blue carpet of the "Viva Elvis" show in Las Vegas on February 19, 2010. Scott spoke about what he's working on and gives his best Elvis impersonation.
Regarding the current activities in the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS camp, Weiland said, "[We] just finished mastering our new album. And we'll be playing South By Southwest in March, with a few more dates. LEVIATHAN: \'Resurrected\' CD/DVD Digipack Artwork Revealed
 Colorado based prog-metal veterans LEVIATHAN has revealed the cover artwork and disc artwork for their upcoming double CD/DVD digipack, "Resurrected: Reunion Show 2010", to be released later in the year. The video and audio were recorded over the span of three nights (January 7- 9, 2010), utilizing multiple cameras and direct-to-digital multi track recording. The audio was captured independently from video using 24 tracks of Presonus Firestudio interfaces and Sonar 8.5 Producer Edition DAW Software.
The DVD contains 80 minutes of live concert, behind-the-scenes and unreleased material.
The CD contains over 60 minutes of live concert audio from all four critically acclaimed albums.

FINNTROLL Keyboardist Slams KEEP OF KALESSIN For EUROVISION SONG CONTEST Participation
 In a recent interview with Italy's Musica Metal web site, keyboardist Henri "Trollhorn" Sorvali of Finnish folk metallers FINNTROLL was asked if his band would ever follow the example of Norwegian black metallers KEEP OF KALESSIN and consider taking part in the the Eurovision Song Contest (KEEP OF KALESSIN was eliminated from the competition after placing third in the Norwegian grand final). "Eurovision Song Contest is to music what Kentucky Fried Chicken is to food," Trollhorn replied. "Black metal = no compromise. If KEEP OF KALESSIN wants to penetrate some unexplored areas in the homosexual community, I feel no harm done, yet we leave our crowd raped by other means than participating in vain and futile contests on something we consider a blasphemy of an art anyway."

TRISTANIA Issues Studio Update
 Guitarist/vocalist Anders Høyvik Hidle of Norwegian gothic metallers TRISTANIA has issued the following update:
"You have waited patiently for news from the studio, and it's about time we reveal some more details regarding the upcoming album.
"These are hectic times and we are working around the clock to keep up with the time schedule, but we are extremely happy with the process this far, and the final result shows promise to be great. One by one the bricks are falling into place, and the album is becoming more complete every day.
"Right now we're in the middle of the third week of recording. Drums have been recorded in Tanken Studio near Oslo, and for the moment we're doing bass and guitars in Stavanger. Østen [Bergøy; clean vocals] took a break from the diapers and milk bottles to record his vocals last week. He did a terrific job, and his vocals sound great.
"We have now just finished recording all bass and main guitars, and will spend the next days recording additional acoustic and electric guitars plus my vocal parts. We're going back to Oslo next week to start the vocal sessions with Mariangela [Demurtas, vocals], Kjetil [Nordhus, vocals] and Ole [Vistnes, bass] in a different studio.
"Now let's move to the proper news...
"There will be big classical choirs with Latin lyrics included in all the songs on the new album! No, sorry — it won't. However, we are proud to announce that we just had a very special guest in studio who you might already know: The one and only Pete Johansen will once again appear on a TRISTANIA album with his fantastic violin playing.
"During the writing process of this album we figured that Pete's violin would fit perfectly on some of the new tracks. Only a couple of weeks ago I sent the tracks to Pete and asked him if he would be interested in doing something together again. Luckily, he was.
"Pete, Ole and myself had a great time in studio last weekend, and it turned out really well. We worked with Pete for two long days, recording both acoustic and electric/distorted violins, and the result sounds truly amazing.
"We will probably release some musical teasers whenever we can find the time to this.
"I've had the pleasure to work with many great musicians after I joined TRISTANIA nearly 14 years ago. Still, Pete is probably the one I admire most of them all.
"This is the fourth album where Pete contributes, and each time I've been mindblown during his studio sessions.
"Pete is a rare musician; full of ideas and with a very distinct signature to his violin playing.
"It was fantastic to work with him again — exactly ten years after our last studio collaboration when we recorded 'World of Glass' in Mariseille, France.
"During the following weeks and months, we plan to put stories and news, photos and videos from the studio on the website. Those of you who are curious about the new album should also check out our MySpace site once in a while — plus Twitter, where Ole is posting news and comments from studio on an almost daily basis."
Songtitles set to appear on the new TRISTANIA CD include "Patriot Games", "Year of the Rat", "The Emerald Piper" and "Sirens".
