DAVE MUSTAINE: \'I Really Am Enjoying Who I\'m Discovering Myself To Be\'
 According to the World Entertainment News Network (WENN), MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has credited Christianity for turning his life around.
Mustaine admits he wasn't a very nice person before he found God and he's keen to make amends for all his wrongs.
He says, "Once I changed my life I thought, 'If anybody needed to become a Christian it was me because I was so bad.
"I really am enjoying who I'm discovering myself to be. I don't really know what the future has in store for me but it's a hell of a lot different than it was.
"I'm sure glad I didn't give up because there were some years where I just felt like the entire world was just disgusted with me. There were a lot of times when I thought the music business would be better off without me and I should go to peeling onions for a living!
Mustaine tells WENN he has spent years apologizing to the people he has wronged. "The only person that I really have any problems with anymore is my ex-wife," he says. "I love her and we're friends but that's the only thing in my entire world that upsets me; I couldn't bury the hatchet with her. Everybody else in my life, I've been able to work things out.
"I had the most amazing years being married and it's a big change for me being single now."

PAUL RODGERS Not Interested In Joining AEROSMITH
 Lately, there have been some rumors that Paul Rodgers might join AEROSMITH while singer Steven Tyler recovers from his various ailments. However, Paul, who has created groups like BAD COMPANY, FREE and THE FIRM with Jimmy Page, told VH1 Radio Networks' Dave Basner he prefers making new music as opposed to filling in for someone.
"If you look at my history, my history is that of forming bands rather than joining them," Rodgers said. "I tend to want to form bands and then create new music within them. QUEEN was an exception and we joined forces because it just seemed to work when we played together. But as far as AEROSMITH [is concerned], I don't think I want to be joining bands and Steven Tyler is very much still alive. I would like to see them solve their problems and put the band together 'cause they're such a great band."
When asked if there is any truth to Classic Rock magazine's recent report that AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry asked Paul Rodgers if he would be interested in replacing Steven Tyler in AEROSMITH, Joe told Classic Rock Revisited, "I mean, obviously that would be a thought, because he is one of my favorite singers of all time, and I got a chance to meet him at Classic Rock Awards [in London] a couple of months ago. But I think that he's a really… him being English from that earlier generation, I don't think that it would work. I mean, it's more than just somebody who can sing. I would love to do — and I probably will — do some tracks with him. As a matter of fact, I think THE JOE PERRY PROJECT is gonna open a tour with them in April in England. The original BAD COMPANY is gonna get back together and they asked me to open the show. So we will be playing together, but I don't think that he'll be… We're young kids to him. I just don't think it's the right chemistry. Technically, I know he's got the chops — I mean, I know he can sing anything he wants — but I think that it's a little bit more than just if he can sing the songs."

EXODUS: New Album Pushed Back To May
 Nuclear Blast Records has pushed back the European release date of "Exhibit B: The Human Condition", the ninth studio album from San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans EXODUS, to May 7 from the previously announced April 23. YOTANGOR: \'Another Place\' Video Released
 "Another Place", the new video from YOTANGOR — the brand new symphonic metal French band featuring female singer Ingrid — can be viewed below. The song comes off the group's debut album, "King Of The Universe", which is described in a press reelase as "an ambitious double CD with 26 tracks, a concept album that talks about King Yotangor, a modern dictator convinced to be good with his people while all what he does is perverted by money and stupidity."

SEVENDUST: \'Cold Day Memory\' Release Date Announced
 Atlanta, Georgia-based heavy rock act SEVENDUST will release its new album, "Cold Day Memory", on April 20
A sneak peek video of the making of "Cold Day Memory" can be viewed below.
"Cold Day Memory" was recorded at Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, Illinois with producer Johnny K (DISTURBED, STAIND, MACHINE HEAD).
Prior to hooking up with Johnny K for the new album recording sessions, SEVENDUST spent time writing and recording demos with Corey Lowery (former member of DARK NEW DAY, STEREOMUD and STUCK MOJO and brother of SEVENDUST guitarist Clint Lowery) engineering.

TÝR Frontman Completes Work On HELJAREYGA Debut
 Guitarist/vocalist Heri Joensen of Faroese Viking metallers TÝR has issued the following update:
"My solo project [dubbed HELJAREYGA] was recorded very successfully in December and mixed and mastered in early January. It is still unclear when precisely the album will be released, but you can already hear a song on the HELJAREYGA MySpace. The album may be available for digital purchase and download at iTunes and other digital stores before it will be available in CD format. The album will be self-titled and there is a title track also.

REGAIN RECORDS Shoots Down \'Misleading Rumors\' Spread By Former GORGOROTH Members
 Former members of the Norwegian black metal band GORGOROTH and the Swedish record label Regain Records have issued separate statements regarding the resolution of their legal dispute over the release of the allegedly unauthorized release of GORGOROTH's "Live in Grieghallen" album via Regain. Both statements appear in their entirety below.
Statement from former GORGOROTH members King (real name: Tom Cato Visnes) and Gaahl (real name: Kristian Espedal):
"On December 17, 2009, authorities in Malmö, Sweden decided in favor of King and Gaahl in their case brought against Regain Records for the unauthorized release of GORGOROTH's 'Live in Grieghallen' album. Regain Records has been found to have broken their contract with King/Gaahl on numerous accounts, has been forbidden by the courts to sell this album in the future and has been ordered to pay all legal costs and compensation in the case.
"In anticipation of the verdict, Regain Records filed bankruptcy to Lund Tingsrett in Sweden and was declared bankrupt on December 8, 2009 (Regain Records and Entertainment AB corporate identity number 556689-1825). Peter Överman from Ackordcentralen, Sweden is named as liquidator and is now working on getting an overview of Regain's financial situation as well as handling the claims from Gaahl and King on unpaid royalties, among other claims."
Statement from Regain Records:
"Due to misleading rumors being spread through GOD SEED's [King and Gaahl's post-GORGOROTH project] MySpace page regarding the bankruptcy of Regain Records, we would like to clarify to all who have contacted us recently that Regain Records is not in bankruptcy.
"We would also like to make clear that the dispute that concerns 'Live In Grieghallen' only involves Tom Cato Visnes (a.k.a. King Ov Hell), Regain Records and Entertainment AB, since a settlement with Kristian Espedal (a.k.a. Gaahl) was already reached in 2009. The legal outcome of this trial has no bearing on Regain Records nor does it influence our future in any way. It is also incorrect that Regain Records owes any unpaid royalties to Tom Cato Visnes or Kristian Espedal.
"Furthermore, Regain Records is very content with the fact that we are still working with the band GORGOROTH and the fact that we choose to support the rightful owner of the trademark, namely Roger Tiegs (a.k.a. Infernus). This has always been our main priority during the various legal proceedings which have involved GORGOROTH in one way or another."

WOLF: In Writing Mode
 Swedish metallers WOLF have commenced the songwriting process for their next album. According to the band, "Some solid ideas are taking form and the ViperStudio will soon burn with WOLF demos. Niklas [Stålvind; guitar/vocals] is on fire and when that happens, you gotta stand back. Johannes [Losbäck; guitar] will soon jump in the fire with him, and evetually the whole band will be joining in." The group adds, "We're really looking forward to topping 2009's 'Ravenous'."
In other news, WOLF will film footage at its February 27 concert in Gothenburg, Sweden for an upcoming video. The clip is being helmed by Morningstar Films.

VREID Releases \'Noen Å Hate\' Digital Single
 Norway's VREID has just released the digital single called "Noen Å Hate" — a cover of the classic Norwegian rock track by the legendary Norwegian band RAGA ROCKERS. THE DESTINY PROGRAM Completes Work On New Album
 German hardcore/metal act THE DESTINY PROGRAM (formerly DESTINY) has completed work on its new album, "Gathas", for an April 23 release through Bastardized Recordings. The band states, "For the first time, we produced an album on our own and we are pretty satisfied with the result. For the mixing and mastering, we were able to work with our good friend Tue Madsen (HALFORD, BEHEMOTH, KATAKLYSM, THE HAUNTED) again." The CD cover artwork was created by Seldon Hunt.
A song from the upcoming album, "Avesta", will be made available via the group's MySpace page in the coming days.
THE DESTINY PROGRAM's last CD, "Subversive Blueprint", was released in September 2007 via Nuclear Blast Records. THULCANDRA Taps KRISTIAN WÅHLIN For New Album Artwork
 THULCANDRA — the reactivated German black/death metal band featuring members of OBSCURA, DARK FORTRESS and HELFAHRT — has tapped Kristian Wåhlin (a.k.a. Necrolord; AT THE GATES, DISSECTION, EDGE OF SANITY, EMPEROR, DARK FUNERAL, SACRAMENTUM) to create the artwork for the group's new album, "Fallen Angels Dominion". The CD was recorded at Woodshed Studios with producers V. Santura and Steffen Kummerer for a 2010 release via Napalm Records. A full European tour will follow later this year.

BORN FROM PAIN Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement
 Dutch hardcore metallers BORN FROM PAIN have parted ways with drummer Roy Moonen and have replaced him with Igor Wouters (ex-BACKFIRE!). The band states, "We have been practicing together and came to the conclusion that we are all looking forward to touring and writing a new record together. We are very enthusiastic about the addition of Igor since he is a very talented drummer, songwriter and a good guy.
"Roy has decided that it is time for him to move on and broaden his horizons. He will be taking a break from heavy music and do different musical things."
Wouters will join BORN FROM PAIN from April onwards. Serch from THE SETUP will be helping BORN FROM PAIN out on drums during March.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Frontman Forced To Leave Tour; ALL THAT REMAINS Singer To Fill In
 KILLSWITCH ENGAGE vocalist Howard Jones is leaving the band's current headlining tour with THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and DARK TRANQUILLITY due to unforeseen circumstances. DAVID ELLEFSON Talks About His Return To MEGADETH
 Bassist David Ellefson spoke exclusively with U.K.'s Classic Rock magazine about his return to MEGADETH after an eight-year absence.
"It literally happened over the weekend," he said. "And I can hardly believe it myself. There was clearly gonna be a change in the lineup, because James Lomenzo was leaving. Dave [Mustaine, MEGADETH mainman] and I talked on the phone, and all the feuds, all the arguments we've been having over the years just melted away. It just goes to show what direct contact can achieve!"
Regarding how the whole thing came about, Ellefson said, "Obviously, I have no clue what happened within the band. But I got a text from Shawn [Drover, drums] and it just said, 'If ever there was a time for you and Dave to talk, now is it.' It's one of those messages you act on immediately. Typically of MEGADETH, things then happened big and fast.
"In all honesty, talking to Dave again was wonderful. It was the right thing at the right time, done in the right spirit."

DROID Singer Quits
 DROID singer James Eason has announced that he has left the band and is currently exploring other projects in the music world. His statement on his departure can be read below.
"I have spent the last 10-plus years in the band DROID so this is no easy decision for me.
"To make it simple, the past 10 years in DROID have had their great and memorable moments and their not-so-memorable moments.
"I have chosen to move on in positive direction... This being said, my #1 priority has and always will be to make music and give 100% commitment of myself to my music. Music is my #1 priority and always has been... I stand strong in my commitment.

CORPUS MORTALE Continuing Work On New Material
 Danish extreme metallers CORPUS MORTALE have issued the following update:
"We're being very creative at the moment and we only need to throw down a few more songs before we have enough material to enter the studio and record album #3. The music, we think, will appeal to both new and old followers of CORPUS MORTALE as the expression of the band has changed quite a bit due to the changes in the line-up. To the better, of course. The new material is mix of the old stuff and a more stream-lined in your face style.
"Local shows: The [Danish] Tour has been kicked off this weekend and everything went as planned. The final three-four shows are just about to be confirmed and will be posted very soon.
International shows: It's always dangerous to spill details about future plans in the early phases. Anyway, tours and shows are in the works for among other places: North America (late 2010), Iceland (summer 2010) as well as some Scandinavian shows. MASTERPLAN: New Album Title, Release Date Announced
 MASTERPLAN, the melodic power metal band led by former HELLOWEEN guitarist Roland Grapow, has set "Time To Be King" as the title of its new album, due on April 16. A single will precede the full-length CD in March.
