DEFILED Release George Orwell-Inspired Song "Masses In Chaos"; Music Video Streaming
Death metal maniacs, Defiled, have released the official music video for "Masses In Chaos", which is third new track taken from their forthcoming album, Infinite Regress. The video can be seen below.
The band comment on the new track: "This video was taken at our previous rehearsal/recording room in Okinawa, Japan. This is where we recorded our new album. Sadly, the building was demolished and we kinda miss our 'home,' knowing too well we'll never see it again. By premiering this video we're also sharing a small, yet meaningful, souvenir with all of you. As some of you may guess, the song is about George Orwell's 1984 ... Enjoy!!"
Infinite Regress will be out January 24, 2020; find pre-orders here.

Exclusive: PYRAMIDS ON MARS Premiere Edge Of The Black Full Album Stream
Guitarist Kevin Estrella’s project Pyramids On Mars has a new album being released on December 21, 2019, entitled Edge of the Black. This third full-length from Pyramids On Mars offers up an aural palette of intense instrumental progressive shredding rock that's emotional, provocative and 4-dimensional. Teaming up with BraveWords, Pyramids On Mars is premiering the album's full stream before it officially drops.
EDGE OF THE BLACK by Pyramids on Mars
Estrella adds: "On Edge of The Black, I wanted to put emphasis on songwriting and telling a story. The emphasis is not just on the lead guitar melody, but on the band as a whole. Harmonic variations on repeating themes are strongly utilized; like rhyming phrases in spoken language that allows easier accurate retelling of the original story. This idea of repeating music phrases/themes so the audience can easily recall it and hum it all the way home. Many people would think that being an instrumental guitarist that I must listen to a lot of guitar players. On the contrary, I do not. Yes, I was originally influenced by guitar players like Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen and spent many years learning their style. But my own sense of identity has come from the music I am most passionate about, which is Baroque Classical Music.
"I am a huge Yngwie Malmsteen fan. I spent two years, in fact, listening to nothing, but Malmsteen and studied his style. But I did not want to become another Malmsteen clone. I realized that in order to play like him, I had to listen to his influences. My life changed when I started listening to Bach, Vivaldi, and Paganini. It was like hearing music for the very first time. I listen to mostly classical music these days. When you listen to Edge of the Black, most of the guitar melodies are actually violin melodies. And many of them are found in my online instructional guitar lessons. There are a few other people who inspired Edge of the Black. You will hear Iron Maiden, Rammstein and Queen influences. Some of the bass parts are inspired by Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) and John Deacon (Queen). Personally Edge of The Black sounds like if Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen joined Rush."

BON JOVI Is Highest-Grossing Hard Rock/Metal Act On POLLSTAR's 'Artists Of The Decade' Chart
Music industry trade publication Pollstar's just-published "Artists Of The Decade" chart — which lists the top 30 touring acts as determined by their combined worldwide ticket grosses from late 2009 through late 2019 — features five hard rock/metal performers among its rankings.
With a total gross of $869 million from 341 reported shows over the past 10 years, BON JOVI is ranked No. 5, behind only U2, THE ROLLING STONES, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. That figure includes $254 million worth of tickets sold during the group's 2013 "Because We Can Tour"; $232 million from its recently completed three-year tour in support of 2016's "This House Is Not For Sale"; $212 million from its 2010 tour in support of the previous year's "The Circle"; and $152 million from its 59-date 2011 tour.
The 10-year gross of Roger Waters totaled more than $700 million, which earned the PINK FLOYD co-founder the No. 10 spot on Pollstar's list. Approximately two-thirds of that figure came from his "The Wall Live" tour, which featured 219 performances between 2010 and 2013. Waters recently told Rolling Stone that he is considering embarking on a North American arena tour in 2020 that would feature a new "no-holds-barred" show.
Onetime tour-mates METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES were ranked 12th and 13th, with respective grosses of $662 million and $648 million. Nearly all of GN'R's earnings were accrued during their ongoing "Not In This Lifetime" tour, which now ranks as the third-highest-grossing tour in history. METALLICA, meanwhile, grossed approximately two-thirds of its total earnings for the decade during the ongoing "WorldWired" tour, now the ninth-highest-grossing tour of all time.
TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA — which performed more concerts and charged a lower average ticket price over the past decade than any other artist on Pollstar's chart — came in at No. 27 with a total gross of $465 million, nearly all of which was earned during the band's annual North American holiday arena tours. Only four acts on the list sold more tickets than TSO over the past decade — Sheeran, U2, Swift and BON JOVI.

Former MÖTLEY CRÜE Singer JOHN CORABI Says DONALD TRUMP's Impeachment Has 'Divided Us Even Further'
Former MÖTLEY CRÜE singer John Corabi has weighed in on President Donald Trump's impeachment, saying that all politicians are "whiny bitches that are getting nothing done for you and I."
On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed two articles of impeachment against Trump: abuse of his office and obstruction of Congress.
Trump is only the third president in U.S. history to be impeached. None of those earlier actions resulted in a president's removal from office.
Late last night, Corabi took to his Facebook to offer his two cents on what some Trump supporters have called a "politically motivated witch hunt."
"By the looks of Facebook today I see the 'IMPEACHMENT' of DJT has done one thing...DIVIDED us even further!" Corabi wrote. "Now if I may...Here's my take.....
"What I believe is our leaders Republican and Democrat are nothing but a bunch of OVERPAID, whiny bitches that are getting nothing done for you and I...PERIOD!!!
"DJT overturned a bunch of Obama legislations/regulations and when the next Democrat comes, they'll overturn them again... It's like a fucking checkers game.
"I personally can see arguments on both sides. But all we're doing now is buying into whatever NEWS outlet supports your party.
"It's hilarious to me how far apart we've become on things!! One party can say it's 'A beautiful sunny day' and they opposing party will argue, because it's the right thing to do for THE PARTY!!! Not what's right or truthful for US...
"Now the Impeachment goes to Senate...yes, that Republican run Senate, which will overwhelmingly vote AGAINST Impeachment so its... STALEMATE!!!
"How about fixing or at least trying to work in a fucking BIPARTISAN fashion (like you said you would do when you ran for office) on things we give a shit about... AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE... AFFORDABLE TAXES… UPHOLDING THE SECOND AMMENDMENT with sensible addendums that fit our modern society... CLIMATE CHANGE... EDUCATION... AFFORDABLE HOUSING… SENSIBLE BORDER POLICIES/CONTROL… SOCIAL SECURITY… WELFARE FRAUD
"As far as I'm concerned we're all buying into the 'BIG POLITICAL SPIN' and it's dividing US, 'The People' as in 'We The People'...
"We need to hold EVERYONE accountable in Washington...period. I think, in the long run US, as hard working people all want a lot of the same things (excluding religious/moral pushed policies..I.e. gay marriage, abortion, etc) We all want to WORK, pay reasonable taxes, not worry about losing everything we have in a medical crisis, get married, have a nice home, car, and put a little cash away for a rainy day/retirement, and not leave your family destitute when you croak...That's what I want..
"So you see,...I think we ARE a little more similar than the POLITICIANS think...Let's start being a little kinder to EACH other... #Actpresidential
#Actlikeasenator #actlikeacongressperson #Termlimits #Dontrunifyiurenotserious #BeBipartisan #Doyourjob"
Corabi joined CRÜE in 1992 as the replacement for the group's original singer, Vince Neil, who was dismissed due to personal differences. With Corabi on vocals, MÖTLEY CRÜE released one critically acclaimed full-length CD, which ended up being a commercial failure in the wake of grunge despite a Top 10 placing on the album chart. When Neil returned to the fold in 1997, Corabi was left on his own and formed the band UNION with ex-KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick.
By the looks of Facebook today I see the “IMPEACHMENT” of DJT has done one thing...DIVIDED us even further! Now if I...

MÖTLEY CRÜE's TOMMY LEE Reacts With Joy To DONALD TRUMP Getting Impeached
MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee has reacted with joy to the news that President Donald Trump has been impeached.
Earlier today, the House of Representatives passed two articles of impeachment against Trump: abuse of his office and obstruction of Congress.
Trump is only the third president in U.S. history to be impeached. None of those earlier actions resulted in a president's removal from office.
Just a few minutes ago, Lee tweeted out a crying-laughing emoji and included the following message: "TRUMP!!!! Bye Felicia!!!!!"
Trump's impeachment comes just hours after he accused Democrats of pursuing an "illegal, partisan attempted coup" and declaring war on American democracy.
House Democrats accuse Trump of abusing his power by asking Ukraine to investigate political rival Joe Biden, a former U.S. vice president. Trump is also accused of obstructing the congressional investigation into the matter.
The Republican-held Senate is unlikely to vote to remove Trump.
Lee has repeatedly voiced his displeasure with Trump, including in August when he implored the president to "wake the fuck up" after he blamed the Dayton and El Paso mass shootings on video games and mental illness.
In December 2018, Tommy referred to the 45th U.S. president as an "asshole" and labeled his supporters "dumbasses." A year earlier, he called the president "a fucking idiot" and said the people who voted for him are "dickheads."
After Trump was elected president in November 2016, Lee expressed his disbelief on Twitter, writing: "What the actual fuck is happening?"
In November 2018, Tommy lambasted Trump for blaming California's wildfires on poor forest management. "Can you be anymore insensitive you fucking moron" Lee tweeted.
?TRUMP!!!! Bye Felicia!!!!!

SIXX:A.M. Releases Lyric Video For 'X-Mas In Hell'
SIXX:A.M. — Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba and James Michael — has released a new lyric video for "X-Mas In Hell", the band's poignant track from "The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack".
When Nikki Sixx's "The Heroin Diaries" was published in 2007, it was the first book to be accompanied by a soundtrack. Recorded by SIXX:A.M. the 13 tracks on the record each correspond to one month of Sixx's diary, which he supposedly kept from 1986 to 1987 and formed the basis for the autobiography. "X-Mas In Hell" is the first track on "The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack", based on Sixx's 1986 Christmas Day diary entry and this is the first time that a lyric video has been made to accompany this holiday favorite for SIXX:A.M. fans.
Sixx famously said: "There is something about spending Christmas alone, naked, sitting by the Christmas tree gripping a shotgun, that lets you know your life is spinning dangerously outta control."
Viewers of MÖTLEY CRÜE's Netflix movie "The Dirt" will recall many of the harrowing scenes where Nikki is trying to escape his addiction demons and this song paints a strong visual picture of his struggles with the dark take on "Carol Of The Bells" breakout section of "X-Mas In Hell".
Said Sixx: "I am trying to take things that happened in my life and turning them into positives. Opioid addiction usually ends in death, and that is something we would like to turn around."
Allen Kovac, CEO of Better Noise Music, added: "More people died in the USA last year of opioids than car accidents. Nikki is working with the surgeon general in the USA to raise awareness of the opioid crisis and help destigmatize addiction. Nikki Sixx wants us all to remember that there are people in recovery or struggling with opioid addiction right now during the holiday season."
Sixx has been working closely with The Global Recovery Initiatives (GRI) to use the power of conversation to overcome the stigma plaguing opioid use. So if you know someone who is struggling, reach out and be a friend at this potentially lonely time.
Lyrics:
"X-Mas In Hell"
December 25th, 1986 - Van Nuys.
Merry Christmas.
That's what people say at Christmas, right?
Except normally they have someone to say it to.
They have friends and family,
And they haven't been crouched naked under a Christmas tree
with a needle in their arm like an insane person in a mansion in Van Nuys.
They're not out of their minds, they're not writing in a diary,
And they're definitely not watching their holiday spirit coagulate in a spoon.
I didn't speak to a single person today.
I thought why should I ruin their fucking Christmas.
I've started a new diary and this time I have a few new reasons.
One, I have no friends left.
Two, so I can read back and remember what I did the day before.
And three, so if I die, at least I leave a nice little suicide note of my life.
It's just me and you, diary. Welcome to my fucking life.
Nobody would believe the shit that happens inside my head, it's haunted.
Now I've come down from the drugs
it seems like a sick play that I saw in a theater somewhere.
Thirty minutes ago, I could've killed someone.
Or better yet, myself." (End of lyrics)

HALESTORM's LZZY HALE Says She Gets Letters From Parents Thanking Her For Taking A Stance On Social Issues
Terry "Beez" Bezer of WhatCulture Music recently conducted an interview with HALESTORM frontwoman Lzzy Hale and guitarist Joe Hottinger. You can watch the entire chat below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On bands having something to say about social issues:
Lzzy: "We grew up on bands where that was the idea. The fact, hey, man, I'm a real person. I'm a dork from Pennsylvania and I had all these ideas growing up but never had the medium, but now that you have the medium, it's, like, why not spread that out there? We grew up on bands who did the same thing. They talked about it in their songs, the things they believed in, they challenged people politically and did all these things with their music. I think music still holds a very important part in all of that and culturally."
Joe: "As a public figure, you [referring to Lzzy] more so than anyone else, it's good to have an opinion. It's nice to hear. People look up [to her] for things."
Lzzy: "It's funny. I almost expected — you have to cross your own line when you decided that, 'Okay, I want to be nice to everybody and we have this diverse fanbase and everything.' When you make that line of, 'No, it's really important for me and my soul to be able to use my life and this amazing gift that I've been given for good and to stand up for what I believe in.' The thing I didn't expect was so many love letters from parents. You would have thought that maybe you would gotten 'You're standing up for something… Shut up and play music.' And it's just been amazing. In meet-and-greets, too, the other day, I had this man — he's a dad and he brought his kid to the meet-and-greet and he hugged me and he cried on my shoulder. He said 'My little girl suffers from depression and you gave her this thing and all these ideas she has. She says, 'If Lzzy can stand up for what she believes in and not care for what anyone thinks, so can I.' It made me misty in the meet-and-greet because I'm, like, 'This is amazing.' It's something I was not expecting just from me being myself. Always err on the side of honesty. It works. [Laughs]"
On whether HALESTORM's "definitive statement" is still to come:
Lzzy: "I think so."
Joe: "I hope so."
Lzzy: "Honestly, our goal as a band, I don't necessarily think that there's ever… We always thought there would be, we thought there would be a line, 'Okay, there's going to be a point in time where, 'All right, we did the [METALLICA's] 'Black Album'. But I honestly think that we're always chasing whatever's next. We make a record and it's, like, 'Okay, it's going to be the next one.' And then we're going to make this one and it's, 'Okay, it's going to be the next one.' I just think that as long as we keep trying to top ourselves. [Laughs]"
Joe: "Our motto is to get better, always. Each live show, we talk after each show we play, 'Well, we could have done this a little better.' Just try to get better always. The same with records. Always focusing just a little bit more and try to, I don't know what is we're going for…"
Lzzy: "I liken it to you're just peeling back these layers; you're peeling back this onion. It's a combination of all these things. You're comfortable now lyrically, speaking my mind and singing things that I really feel passionately about. And then musically, we're getting better every day and we're touring a lot and we change up the set every day just so we can keep our chops up. And kind of harness that, 'Oh gosh. It's just the four of us.' We don't do tracks or trickery. It's one of those things hopefully, by the time we do every single record we're a little better. Always more. Never less. [Laughs]"
HALESTORM's latest album, "Vicious", was released in July 2018 via Atlantic. | +1 | |

VICTORIUS Release "Nippon Knights" Single; Lyric Video Streaming; Space Ninjas Release Shows Through Germany Scheduled
"All soldiers unite, leave your broken tears behind!"
Join forces with Victorius and storm the cosmic universe with their brand new single and lyric video, “Nippon Knights”, taken from the upcoming album, Space Ninjas From Hell, out January 17 via Napalm Records.
Being home to advanced technologies and some of the most iconic pop culture figures, it is no wonder that Japan was precisely chosen by power metal warriors Victorius to tell their gripping audio-visual story of battles and intergalactic bravery. First of all, however, the lyric video to “Nippon Knights” is a personal gesture of appreciation towards Japanese fans supporting the band in their musical conquest, both during the shows and behind the scenes. Featuring snapshots from Victorius gigs in Tokyo, as well as the footage of their very personal exploration of the captivating cityscape, “Nippon Knights” and its accompanying video tell the story of the rise of an ultramodern empire, establishing the track as an actual prelude to one of the most spectacular space battles of 2020, guiding the listeners through the labyrinths of futuristic power metal.
The imposing visuals and almost discernable energy of the live performance aside, “Nippon Knights” is another successful combat in Victorius’ war for space domination of the power metal galaxy. Victorius calls for the true ninja souls, for each and every katana determined to change the fate of the galaxies.
The era of the Space Ninjas is not over yet! After an evil ninja clan joined forces with the dragon god to enslave the world, only a wizard could have stopped them before it was too late...
Thinking their lethal opponent had been defeated one and for all, mankind lived in peace for years... These mythical warriors, however, have not given up on their ruthless plans of conquering the world. Hidden in their secret headquarters on the dark side of the sun - the Cosmic Space Commando Base - the ninjas only waited to fully regain their power! Fueled by hatred, stronger and faster than ever before, armed with their uniquely improved weapons and ninja-skills, they joined forces with the dragon god again - and this time the world needs to pay!

KING DIAMOND is Going 'Back To The Roots' With 'The Institute' Album
Last month, KING DIAMOND released a brand new song called "Masquerade Of Madness". Mixed by guitarist Andy La Rocque and singer King Diamond at Sonic Train Studios, the track will appear on KING DIAMOND's first studio album in 12 years, "The Institute", which will be released in 2020 via Metal Blade Records.
Prior to KING DIAMOND's December 3 concert at The Grove of Anaheim in Anaheim, California, La Rocque and bassist Pontus Egberg spoke to former ANTHRAX singer Neil Turbin for The Metal Voice about the new track and the band's plans for the upcoming LP.
"So far, we only have one song from the upcoming album, because we're working on the new songs for the next album," Andy explained (see video below). "But we really haven't composed that many songs yet. I have, like, four or five in the loop, and King has a lot of ideas [in his head] that he hasn't had time to realize down on the computer yet. So one song is what we managed this summer to play live."
According to Andy, he came up with the music for "Masquerade Of Madness" first before passing it off to King, who "needed to arrange a few things and change just a small few things for making it work with his vocals. And then, of course, he wrote the lyrics for it," the guitarist revealed. "So we [went] a little back and forth until he felt like, 'Okay, this is cool, man. This is the right key to sing in,' and all that."
Work on the new KING DIAMOND album will halted for at least a few weeks next year while King reunites with his previous band, MERCYFUL FATE, for a number of European festival appearances. "He's doing a few shows with MERCYFUL FATE next summer, so he's gonna be busy with that, while I will still work on songs [for KING DIAMOND] and record and mix," Andy said. "So I'll be busy with other things. But next summer, I don't have to travel, which is good. I can stay put and do my thing, for sure, with the album."
La Rocque, whose real name is Anders Allhage, said that the tentative plan is to release "The Institute" in late 2020. The effort will be made available as "a single album" as part of a two-LP horror concept story. "The first one's gonna be released next year, and then the second part of the whole story will be released [at a later date]," the guitarist said.
As for the musical direction of the new KING DIAMOND material, Andy said: "I've been looking back to the origin of KING DIAMOND, back in the '80s. And that's what we tried to go back and find — the original roots kind of thing. So I would say it's back to the roots. A lot of riffs will be, like, well, you'll recognize some of the style from the early albums. And it seems like everyone likes that."
This past March, King told Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show that the next album from his namesake band will be "absolutely gruesome" with a story set in a 1920s mental institution. "I chose that because I think it's a very creepy scenario," he explained. "And some of the things that go on that we're gonna show onstage is also things that certainly was going on back then, when medicine was beginning to take a beneficial turn in history and actually being able to help human beings live longer. But there was some experimentation going on, too, that was absolutely gruesome. Some of that is involved in the story, but it's something totally different. Once you get to the second part of the story, you will begin to suddenly understand that, 'What the hell is going on here? What is this really about?' 'Cause there's a whole different story that will not come to you till second part. But in the first part, you're gonna get to know a lot people at a certain place… Some of it takes place here, this world, and some of it takes place in a parallel world. And there's a correlation between what happened to me and what happens to some people in this place and where they suddenly appear. And you will find out why they are there, how they appear there and the places down the road. I won't say too much right now, but it's gonna be very creepy."
KING DIAMOND received a Grammy nomination in the "Best Metal Performance" category for the track "Never Ending Hill" off the band's last album, 2007's "Give Me Your Soul … Please".
"Give Me Your Soul ... Please" sold 4,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 174 on The Billboard 200 chart.
KING DIAMOND released a DVD/Blu-ray, "Songs For The Dead Live", in January via Metal Blade Records. The set captures 1987's seminal "Abigail" album in its entirety, twice, and in very different locales: Belgium's Graspop Metal Meeting in June 2016 and Philadelphia's Fillmore in November 2015. The performances feature KING DIAMOND's current band, comprising of guitarists La Rocque and Mike Wead, bassist Pontus Egberg and drummer Matt Thompson.

HELLOWEEN Check In From The Studio - "This Is Where We're Caged In For The Next Two Months" (Video)
While the band is hard at work in Hamburg’s H.O.M.E. studio, Kai Hansen takes us on a quick walk through the place where the magic happens and the next Helloween record is taking shape.
The new, yet to be named Helloween record will see the boys going “back to the roots,” with the band recording fully analogue and Dani Löble drumming on Ingo Schwichtenberg’s original drum kit, as used in the legendary Keeper Of The Seven Keys recordings. Take a sneak peek below:
"The social media feedback was overwhelming on all counts. To hear and read 'This was the show of my lifetime' gives you the ultimate kick to offer the fans even more. Let's go for the next round!" - Sascha Gerstner
Looking back to the Pumpkins United World Tour, named by the press the Tour Of The Year, everyone still has a big smile on his / her face. The excitement that swept through the media began with the announcement of the metal summit's plan to visit at least 32 countries on 3 continents - but the reactions were nothing compared to the euphoria of over 1 million fans at sold out halls and festivals from West to East. Even if CD, DVD and Blu-ray present stunning contemporary documents - nobody wants to imagine that this is all there is...
"The Pumpkins United World Tour 2017-2019 forged us into a real band - we are all very keen in recording a new studio album now. Artistically it's extremely thrilling." - Andi Deris
Immediately following the massive Brazil tour with the Scorpions and Iron Maiden, the Pumpkins United line-up entered the H.O.M.E. Studios in Hamburg (where everything started in 1984) to work on brand new song material. The same recording console used for albums such as Master Of The Rings, Time Of The Oath or Better Than Raw is now being used to record a new legendary studio album - analogue and deliberately "back to the roots."
With Michael Kiske, Kai Hansen and Dani Löble drumming on Ingo Schwichtenberg's original kit, one thing is for sure: a stronger Helloween vibe won't be possible. With United power, the new album will slam down our door end of August / beginning of September 2020 - produced by Charlie Bauerfeind and Dennis Ward, who are likewise excited about the quality song material they have on offer from the band.
"It was already lots of fun to create a show from the variety of records for the first tour. With the new album we are able to top this. Of course, the set will contain our classics again - especially those songs we were not able to play on the first tour." - Markus Grosskopf
It's official: The United Alive World Tour Part II is coming! The ultimate Helloween party will continue and there are a million reasons to attend again. Besides the full-speed hit rollercoaster carrying the fans through three decades, the brand new album (yet to be named) will be presented live for the very first time.
In September 2020, the legendary United line-up will be unleashed again: stronger, with new song material and a ton of horsepower - simply the ultimate United Alive World Tour Part II.
Dates are as follows:
September
26 - SK Zvolen - Ice Stadium
27 - Vienna, Austria - Gasometer
29 - Zurich, Switzerland - Samsung Hall
30 - Milan, Italy - Lorenzini District
October
2 - Stuttgart - Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle

ANNIHILATOR Planning To Perform Never, Neverland In Its Entirety In 2020 To Celebrate Album's 30th Anniversary
Plans can change, but Annihilator frontman / founder Jeff Waters revealed during a recent show in Athens, Greece while introducing the band's classic "Phantasmagoria" that they willl celebrate the Never, Neveland album's 30th Anniversary next year by performing it in its entirety. Check out the video below.
Annihilator, have released the official video for "Armed To The Teeth", the opening track of the band's explosive seventeenth studio album, Ballistic, Sadistic.
Jeff Waters on the track: "'Armed To The Teeth' is simply about how one should never judge a book by it's cover. If you poke a bear with a stick, abuse or bully someone, or treat a living creature with disrespect, be prepared that it might turn around and retaliate, far beyond what you ever thought possible. The retaliation could be ballistic and sadistic. Whether it's about a music industry jerk bullying an artist or about a kid being bullied on the way home from school, karma will catch up to you and bite you in the face. Someday. Although this is a very heavy and aggressive song, we chose to represent the subject by clips of a teen getting bullied; a serious, common, and relevant subject to touch on... and we thought it more appealing than showing this 53 year old musician taking shit from someone in the music biz! Enjoy the metal."
Produced, engineered, and mixed by Waters, Ballistic, Sadistic was recorded at the brand new, state of the art Watersound Studios UK, in Durham earlier this year with additional engineering and editing by bassist Rich Hinks and mastering by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California.
Ballistic, Sadistic will be available in limited-edition digipak, vinyl, and digital formats on January 24 via Silver Lining Music. For pre-orders, head here.
A name that should need no introduction in the metal world, Annihilator was forged in Canada in late 1984. Since then, the band has been touring and releasing records, selling millions of albums to date, nonstop, for over thirty years. Cited by bands like Megadeth, Pantera, Dream Theater, Children Of Bodom, Lamb Of God, Opeth, Trivium, and so many more as having influence on their music, Jeff Waters and Annihilator have continued to tour the world, year after year, whilst consistently putting out high-quality true-metal music. It takes a long time to reach legendary status, and no one can dispute that Annihilator are inspirations, teachers, legends, and a force demonstrating what hard work and love of your craft can bring to the world.

SIFTING Unleash New "Emotionless Shells" Prog-Thrash Music Video
Progressive thrash-metal masters Sifting have revealed a new music video for their most technically-complex and heaviest song to date, "Emotionless Shells", which can be seen below.
The video was directed by Zach Perez at Astral Media in a Los Angeles warehouse, and showcases the epitome of the age old saying "practice makes perfect." "This song is mostly about the limitations we face and overcoming them through our struggles," says frontman Eduardo Gil. "It’s about realizing that sometimes we fall down and fail, but we must get back up and fight!" Drummer Joey Aguirre adds, "this is a fast-paced song, with technical, dueling guitar solos and intense breakdowns. We all pushed ourselves beyond our technical limits on this one, and people just have to see us play this song, so we thought what better way than shooting another video!"
"Emotionless Shells" can be found on The Infinite Loop, which was released on September 27, 2019 via Eclipse Records. It was produced by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Poison The Well), mixed by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, The Contortionist), and features a special guest performance by Derek Sherinian (Sons Of Apollo, Dream Theater).
Tracklisting:
"Agony"
"A Critical Affair"
"Enough"
"Stop Calling Me Liberty"
"The Fifth Element"
"What If (Dichotomy)"
"To Who I Am"
"Ghost Of A Lie" (feat. Derek Sherinian)

Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy, Randy George, Bill Hubauer & Eric Gillette, released their latest album, The Great Adventure, at the beginning of 2019. The Great Adventour - Live in BRNO 2019 documents these shows, which saw them performing the album in full, and closing with the renowned "The Great Medley", featuring tracks from across Neal’s solo career and each Neal Morse Band album.

As Randy George explains: “After the Similitude tour, expectations were really high, and we had more people coming to these shows than ever before. People were really excited to see it, so we had to make sure that we delivered.”
Performing The Great Adventure flawlessly and in its entirety 47 times in 2019, Neal Morse (vocals, keyboards and guitars), Mike Portnoy (drums, vocals and audience cheerleading), Randy George (bass), Bill Hubauer (keyboards and vocals) and Eric Gillette (guitars and vocals) brought audiences to their feet night after exhilarating night: “The tour delivered every night. We never got tired of playing it, and it always paid off”, says George.
One of the countries was the Czech Republic, and it was there in Brno that the band chose to film The Great Adventour 2019 - Live In Brno, the definitive record of the tour, as George explains: “This was our first time playing in the Czech Republic and this venue had a different look and vibe: the audience also turned out to be very energetic. They loved it!”
The Great Adventour 2019 - Live In Brno shows The Neal Morse Band at the very height of their powers: extraordinary, passionate, intense and intricate rock music played to perfection by five masters of their craft, backed by dramatic video illustrations by Christian Rios.

DARK FORTRESS Streaming New Song "Pulling At Threads"; Spectres From The Old World Release Shows Announced
Venerated black metal specialists, Dark Fortress, return with a new album, Spectres From The Old World, on February 28 via Century Media Records.
After a six-year gap, Germany’s darkest sons continue where Venereal Dawn (2014) left off conceptually. Morean (vocals) explains: “Together with the rest of the human race, the protagonist reincarnated as a disembodied creature of pure light in ‘On Fever’s Wings’, the last song of Venereal Dawn. The new album attempts to draw a picture of such a mind’s perspective on life - reincarnating as pure, massless energy. The narrator has become the fabric of the universe itself. This is where heavy physics and string theory come in.”
For a first taste check out a semi-static clip for the song “Pulling At Threads”:
Morean further elaborates on “Pulling At Threads”: “As mankind’s destructive tendencies start turning on itself, the subdued world around it breathes a sigh of relief. Humans erect monument after monument to their own greatness, but fail to see the erosion caused by their own greed, jealousy and small-mindedness. Nature leans back and watches as the human empires start crumbling from within. Thus, as one tiny thread that keeps civilization together after another breaks and disintegrates, the problem starts solving itself.”
Spectres From The Old World is more direct, more aggressive than its predecessors. At no time in Dark Fortress’ history have they reached so far out into the darkness, only to find the domine of astronomy non-existent, the end merely an end. Recorded, engineered, mixed, and mastered by V. Santura at Woodshed Studios throughout 2019, Spectres From The Old World marks an important milestone in Dark Fortress’ journey along actual and spiritual left-hand paths.
Spectres From The Old World can be pre-ordered in various formats, here.

"Nascence" (Intro)
"Coalescence"
"The Spider In The Web"

FINNTROLL To Release New Album In August 2020
Finnish trolls of Nordic folklore FINNTROLL will release their long-awaited seventh album on August 14, 2020 via Century Media Records. The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2013's "Blodsvept" will be celebrated with an official album-release show at the Summer Breeze festival in Dinkelsbühl, Germany.
A couple of months ago, FINNTROLL frontman Mathias "Vreth" Lillmåns told HRH Mag about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's next disc: "We're working right now. We're in the writing process and we are sharing ideas in our suggestion box — shared drive we put things in. There are about 25 songs in there, but they're not ready. We're feeling the pressure 'cause it's six years since we did the album."
Asked who decides what's good and what's not, Lillmåns said: "Tundra, the bass player, and Trollhorn, the keyboard player. They're usually the guys that after everybody has their ideas, filter what we'll do and compile the songs. It'll be more a Tundra show this time, 'cause Trollhorn has a family. Tundra has more time and will more than likely be the producer of the next album."
Regarding how FINNTROLL's composing process has evolved since the early days, Lillmåns said: "In the beginning, it was getting together and [we] made songs with no rehearsal. When it turned into a band, we rehearsed more. It varies, depending on the album. Anything can happen — it's always been like that."

UPON WINGS Vocalist Says ROB HALFORD Inspired Her To Create Christmas Music; Free Holiday Song Available
There's less than one week to go until Christmas, and Upon Wings is giving listeners a Christmas gift in the form of a brand new Christmas song, which is available as a free download now through Christmas.
The song, "O Holy Night", features vocalist Anne Autumn Erickson, guitar work and production by Kevin Jardine (Uplift Productions) and mastering by five-time Grammy-nominated Glenn Brown (Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, Marcus Miller, Nazareth, Spinal Tap).
Erickson says hearing Rob Halford of Judas Priest's debut Christmas album, Halford III: Winter Songs, and his new release, Celestial, inspired her to create holiday music.
"Rob Halford has always been an inspiration, with his powerful, operatic vocals that are the focal point of Judas Priest's heavy metal, and I'm a huge fan of his holiday music," Erickson said. "I've always wanted to release holiday songs, and when I heard Halford's body of Christmas work, I was more moved than ever to record some holiday tunes with Upon Wings."
Stream the song below, and get your free download here.
"O Holy Night" marks Upon Wings' second holiday single. Last year, the band released an acoustic version of "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel / God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," which can be heard below.
Upon Wingls' new rock single will arrive in January 2020. The band's upcoming EP promises some major guests.

February sees the band, who have scored gold and platinum discs as part of their illustrious 35-year career, head to California to play the legendary Whisky A Go Go club in Hollywood, The Boardwalk in Orangevale and The House of Blues in Anaheim before embarking on a 14+ date run in March taking in a further 13 states across the country.

SHAKRA To Release Mad World Album In February
For a quarter of a century, Shakra has been part of the music circus. Only someone who's been in a band before, knows how fragile and exhausting this kind of social fabric is. 25 years is a very long time and only a few acts can make this distance. Shakra made it and it doesn't look like they'll give up sometime soon. Quite the contrary.
Guitarist, Thom Blunier, points out: "I'm extremely proud and thankful, that this band is stil existing after 25 years of rock 'n' roll. Those of you who have a clue the difficulties of existing as a band know, how precious and exceptional this is. I am ready for the next 25 years!"
The band has experienced several highs and lows together, survived turbulences and they also kept their eyes dead on target. This is also reflected in their multiple and regular chart entries in Germany and Switzerland over all those years.
Their 25th anniversary is approaching in 2020 - and the quintet is ready to celebrate with their fans, in proper style with hard, catchy and energetic rock music. There also will be new music for the jubilee - that goes without saying. Eleven new real crackers in typical Shakra manner as well as a heartbreaking ballad are going to be the new album, Mad World.
This world is mad indeed. Things that used to be good yesterday, have become bad today, things that held a certain value yesterdays, have become worthless today. Not only the music business but the entire world experiences chaotic times. So much the better, Shakra won't be mislead and staunchly keep on doing what they do best: Writing songs that stick to you mind and just are made for the stage. Therefore they'll play a lot of concerts and festivals in 2020.
Shakra don't need to prove themselves with Mad World. No, they play music with obvious passion. Here's to another 25 years.
Mad World will be released on February 28 via AFM Records. Further details to follow.

Exclusive: JUSTIFY REBELLION Premiere “Crowd Control” Video
Denmark’s Justify Rebellion, who can be considered a mix between Metallica and Volbeat, will release their new album The Ends Justify The Means in March 2020 via Mighty Music. BraveWords is premiering their new single and video for “Crowd Control”!
“Crowd Control” is about the individual, its place in society and the majorities who don’t feel like or can’t say no to the greater powers which are pulling the strings. As thoughtless pawns in a bigger game, we are looking for a place for ourselves and together with others. However we are still suffering under the same norms and discourse of how we must be and act to become respected in our time. It is impossible to acquire new personal skills if you are just following the majority with stubbornness just to maintain your own self-image.
The rebellion is here to stay, proven by this monstrosity of a heavy metal album, which takes its inspiration from several metal genres. With this new album you can easily tell that the kids from the first album “Unleashing The Beast’ have grown into testosterone-filled heavy metal hailers. Their new album is mainly centered on the darker aspects of humanity and society, with the topics on the record varying from greed, war, lust and drugs to vulnerability and self-realization.
The riffs are heavier, the solos are faster, the drums are punchier, and the bass is rumbling its way to mayhem. Never has Justify Rebellion felt so strong and powerful! With this masterpiece of a track list, nothing can take these guys down. Justify Rebellion has turned up the pace, but also made room for some thunderous and slower anthems for fans to break their necks to.
About the song “Crowd Control”:
”Crowd Control” is about the individual, its place in society and the majorities who don’t feel like or can’t say no to the greater powers which are pulling the strings.
About the music video for “Crowd Control”:
The music video for “Crowd Control” dissociates from the criticism of society and is therefore focusing on inspiration. Most people have at some point in their lives discovered a side of life, which inspired them and gave them a feeling of fitting in. When we were kids we, we all in the band had great sources of inspiration from both big and small bands, which pulled us toward the musical joy and passion we have today. ”Crowd Control” tries to reflect the spark which enlightens when you explore new aspects of an interest.

ALL HAIL THE YETI Announces New Guitarist, New Management Deal; Enters Studio To Record New EP
Whiskey-soaked hardcore metal hybrid All Hail The Yeti has entered the studio to begin work on a new EP. To tide fans over, the band has revealed a new lyric video for the track “Felo De Se”, from their last album, Highway Crosses.
For the upcoming EP, All Hail The Yeti is working with producer Steve Evetts (Sepultura, The Dillinger Escape Plan, DevilDriver) at the Omen Room in Orange County, CA.
“Sometimes when things need a new fire you have to go to the source of the flame,” says vocalist Connor Garritty. “Steve is a genius and we could not be happier. Everything is sounding huge, and we have no doubt that this will be some of our best material yet. We are very anxious to unleash this beast on the world and we can’t wait for all our fans to be able to experience this life with us. HAIL!”
With 2020 and the new EP, All Hail The Yeti is entering a new chapter in their decade-long career. All Hail The Yeti has welcomed new guitarist Dave Vanderlinde and is now under the guidance of The Oracle Management.
“Dave has an unbelievable talent,” Garritty says. “The writing process has been painless and some of the most fun we’ve had in a long time. His guitar playing is exactly what AHTY needed. Add that to his personality and hunger for success and you have the perfect combination. The Oracle’s Dez Fafara and I have been friends for a very long time. He is probably the most responsible for my music career starting in California so many years ago. Circle back two decades and now the team is right where it needs to be. He is driven, smart, no bullshit and that’s exactly what this band needs.”
As the moniker cryptically suggests, the music of All Hail The Yeti evokes a hair-raising mixture of superstitious ritual and trippy backwoods folklore. It’s all drenched in the countercultural, mind-smashing, gut-punching bile of likeminded spiritual shamans like Acid Bath and Eyehategod, with the down-tuned sludge of stoner rock, and an electric injection from four-on-the-floor classic rock pioneers.

THE DEAD DAISIES Issue New Studio Video, Week Two - Recording Chapter Two
"The recording process is always a blast," says The Dead Daisies. "Check out some of the antics during the final session at La Fabrique."
The current incarnation of The Dead Daisies features guitarist Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio), drummer Deen Castronovo (Journey, Bad English), bassist and singer Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Country Communion), and rhythm guitarist David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink).
Three previously released videos, also showcasing work on the upcoming, as yet untitled album can be seen below.
The Dead Daises have released a new song, "Righteous Days", which can be heard on the band's official website, and via the video below:
Addressing the lineup change, The Dead Daisies issued the following statement: "The Dead Daisies are a musical collective, whose members come together through a common love for great rock music. It’s a living, breathing, musical organism with the credo, 'Rock is indeed alive & well!'
From the band’s inception, the idea was for members to bring their own ideas to the table but also have the flexibility to come and go when working on their other projects. Both John Corabi and Marco Mendoza are, and always will be, a part of The Dead Daisies musical family, but at this point in time they have decided to do some work on their own solo projects.
With the addition of Glenn Hughes, The Daisies supercharge their front line through his rock solid bass grooves and unmatched vocal intensity. As all fans know, the man is a true original and member of the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. One might say: 'They don't build rockers like him anymore.'
Followers can expect more high-voltage rock songs, indomitable grooves and spell-binding lyrics, all the ingredients that have made this music so timeless, out-living trends of the modern day. The sound of The Dead Daisies is firmly rooted in the hard rock way of life we all love, but they are constantly evolving and bringing new dynamics to a classic style."
