FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Guitarist On 'F8' Album: 'It's Rebirth'
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory spoke to Billboard about the band's new album, "F8", which will be released on February 28 via Better Noise Music. The LP is the band's first to be completed after frontman Ivan Moody's very public struggle with substance abuse took him to rehab several times,
"Here we are — everybody's sober, everybody's ready to work and focused," the guitarist said. "There's a lot to say, a lot to prove. It's like a new band, in a way. It's progressing. It's rebirth. It's transcendent. When I listen to this album, it's the same sound, the same band — but it isn't. If you really listen to this, it's not the same band — for the better, both musically and lyrically."
According to Bathory, the lyrical themes on "F8" include "no political or social commentary." He explained: "It's not about what's happening in the world. It's about the band — what we went through and who we are as people now, at this moment, who we are as a band at this moment. It felt like we survived a tornado so to speak, a Category 5 with all the chaos around us. So it's very much a personal record."
Regarding the disc's first single, "Inside Out", Zoltan said: "There are some songs on the album that are very obvious; If you listen to them you'd say, 'Okay, that's a hit song right there.' But we ended up picking 'Inside Out' because it's not the obvious song; It's a little heavier, even risky because some radio stations may say, 'Well, it's a little too heavy.' But it's truly a snapshot of a band that kind of sounds the same bus is not the same band, so it probably represents the record best. It's the first thing people will hear of this new, reformed, transcendent band. It's important to us that fans hear that immediately, that they hear something that's a little different."
The track list for "F8" also includes the title track, "Full Circle", "Living The Dream", "A Little Bit Off", "Bottom Of The Top", "Darkness Settles In", "This Is War", "Leave It All Behind" and four others, along with three bonus tracks.
Moody spoke about "Inside Out" with Metal Hammer magazine last month, saying: "It's about alcoholism. It's about my family leaving. It's about my bandmates. It's about looking at myself in the fucking face and saying, 'Dude, you're going to have to do this because nobody else is coming.'"
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH kicked off a U.S. headlining tour last month with THREE DAYS GRACE, BAD WOLVES and FIRE FROM THE GODS that next stops on Thursday night (December 5) in Toledo, Ohio.

CHEVELLE Frontman Explains New Album Delay
CHEVELLE vocalist/guitarist Pete Loeffler and drummer Sam Loeffler spoke to Rock 100.5 The KATT's Cameron Buchholtz about the progress of the recording sessions for the band's new album. The disc was recorded in part this past May at Joe's House Of Compression studio in Pasadena, California with producer Joe Barresi (KYUSS, MELVINS, THE JESUS LIZARD).
Asked why CHEVELLE hasn't released a new single yet, despite previously announcing that a new song was forthcoming, Pete said: "Well, things take longer than we thought as well." Sam chimed in: "Yeah, we did a pretty long summer tour, so that kind of just changed our plans. But it's just pushed back a few months. It just gives a little bit more time to…"
Continued Pete: "Yeah, the good thing is the music will be that much better at the end of the day… The thing is, the more time you spend with it, the more you realize what it needs. So, instead of rushing it and doing this long tour, we were, like, 'Well, maybe we'll just take a little more time,' and it'll come out next year."
The interview took place on December 4 backstage at Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City during what is being billed as longtime CHEVELLE bassist Dean Bernardini's last tour with the band. Asked if Dean played on the upcoming disc, Pete said: "See, that's the thing — I can't really comment on that, because the record may be done twice. I don't know. That's the thing — when you have actual time, I might scrap the whole damn thing and redo it, and it'll be that much better. This is our tenth full-length album, but only because of the B-sides. But when you get to the later part of your career, if you're lucky to do that, you want it to be that much better. So, it's fuckin' hard, man."
Pete also spoke about his previous comment that CHEVELLE's next album was turning out to be a more melodic affair than 2016's "The North Corridor".
"I mean, that's the thing," he said. "You wake up… Everyone has to choose. You're, like, 'Am I gonna be in a good or a bad mood today?' At least in my family, we do… So, on the last two albums, it's been, like, I woke up and I was, like, 'I wanna play heavy shit.' And that's where we've been. But, honestly, the music is way more melodic on this one."
Earlier this year, Pete said that he wrote "about 25 songs" for CHEVELLE's new album, but that only eight had been recorded so far.
"The North Corridor" debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 album chart and produced a No. 1 Mainstream Rock single, "Joyride (Omen)".
The band's album of rarities from 2002-2016, "12 Bloody Spies: B-Sides And Rarities", was released in October 2018 via Epic. | +2

JORN Launches Music Video For Cover Of JACKIE DeSHANNON's "Needles And Pins"
Jorn's new covers album, Heavy Rock Radio II - Executing The Classics, will be released on January 24 via Frontiers Music Srl. Pre-order the album here, and watch a video for the cover of Jackie DeShannon's "Needles And Pins" below.
Simply one of the greatest rock singers of our time, Jorn Lande returns with a second instalment of covers of classics from artists and bands that have meant something special to him and helped forge this talented man's own unique style.
Through Jorn's extensive career, which includes more than 40 albums of mostly original songs, he has recorded great versions of several rock classics from classic bands such as DIO, Thin Lizzy, UFO, Deep Purple, and many more.
Every song Jorn covers is treated with the utmost respect and "Jorn-ized" accordingly, just like the first Heavy Rock Radio album showed with amazing cover versions of evergreen songs such as "I Know There's Something Going On", "Hotel California", "You're The Voice," "Running Up That Hill," and several others. Fans showed a lot of enthusiasm and interest for those versions, so a follow-up covers album seemed a no-brainer.
This second album, Heavy Rock Radio II - Executing The Classics, is not an ordinary album of cover songs, it is truly a songbook of hits. Featured - among others - are great versions of Pages’ "I Do Believe In You," Foreigner's "Night Life", Don Henley's "New York Minute," Deep Purple's "Bad Attitude," a stunning metal version of Peter Gabriel's "The Rhythm Of The Heat," and of course an unmissable Dio cover, "Mystery".
More "jukebox" type of covers include "Quinn the Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn)" originally recorded by Bob Dylan, Bryan Adams' "Lonely Nights", Jackie DeShannon "Needles And Pins", and a very personal choice from the man himself, a Russ Ballard song, “Winning”.
Jorn says: "The most important thing was to treat these songs with respect towards the original versions, my goal was always to think that the original artist would be honoured and find my version relevant. At the same time my intention was never to try to compete with the original song and artist, but make it a strong alternative version to enjoy."
Jorn's catalogue is getting too long to include in brief press statements, and his innovative and creative skills have led to him selling millions of albums worldwide and being a frequent entry on sales charts around the world, including Billboard. Worth a mention is his years with German based Masterplan, whom he recorded three albums with. Jorn continues his rock crusade, and there are no signs of him slowing down yet.

THE DARKNESS Frontman Says He Hates The Press 'With A F**king Vengeance'
The Sound Lab recently conducted an interview with frontman Justin Hawkins and drummer Rufus Tiger Taylor of British rockers THE DARKNESS. You can watch the entire chat below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On the band's latest studio album, "Easter Is Cancelled":
Justin: "The new album is called 'Easter Is Cancelled'. It is a quasi-concept record with three different themes running through it, one of which is multiverse theory, one of which is matters of the heart, and the other one remains to be seen. There's a lot of sort of childhood memories and allegorical tales from our upbringing that we've used to sort of depict scenarios, or to understand our existence."
Rufus: "It's life-affirming."
Justin: "It definitely is. It expresses some frustration at the way music has been reduced to a mere service. The thing about the album is it's brilliant; it's probably our best one ever. It was a real team effort and you know Rufus has been in the band, he's getting on for being the longest-serving drummer we've had. His contributions to the writing have become integral to the whole thing. He's the heartbeat of it. Also, we're all taking it super seriously. I feel like what we do isn't bombast, but it's nuanced bombast. You can't just make funny jokes and do big riffs and all that — that's not how you do DARKNESS. That's how you do other stuff. We're better than that and I think this album proves it."
Rufus: "Let me just say, lyrically, this guy hits it out of the park."
On how THE DARKNESS's music has developed since its 2000 inception:
Justin: "When we first started THE DARKNESS, it was like four frustrated people who had been trying to do sort of luxurious, layered, perhaps quite complicated arrangements and getting nowhere. When you start a band, all your mates come to the first show and few less come to the next one, and eventually, life gets in the way and no one shows but one of them and you give up and that's it. With our band, we started off, that happened to us a lot — me, Dan [Hawkins, guitar] and Frankie [Poullain, bass] worked on a lot of different stuff before and it never really worked out. I've done everything — I've played keyboards, rhythm guitars, even, that sounds shocking — I've done additional guitar stuff, but I was never a singer before. Then it began to snowball and we ended up with more fans than friends, then all fans, then we had a following, then it just snowballed. But the way we did that was by doing sort of frustrated good-time rock with a load of swear words in it, and you can't do that for 20 years. Not because you lose the anger, but because you find other things to be angry about and they're better expressed in other ways. So, I think we're sort of writing more complex music than we ever used to. Mainly because we have the ability to play it and we've developed collectively and individually and you become better at what you do. Basically, we're the same as we used to be, only better. We're still angry. We're just angry at people like you. I'm just kidding. [Laughs]"
On his relationship with the rock press:
Justin: "I literally hate the press. I hate them with a fucking vengeance and I have a reason to hate them which will all become clear soon."
"Easter Is Cancelled" was released October 4 via Cooking Vinyl. It is the follow-up to 2017's "Pinewood Smile", which was the third album since THE DARKNESS's 2011 reunion.
THE DARKNESS burst on to the scene with its multi-platinum 2003 debut album, "Permission To Land".
Having initially split up in 2006, following the departure of Justin Hawkins, THE DARKNESS decided to get back together five years later and released the comeback album "Hot Cakes". This was followed by two further LPs, "Last Of Our Kind" and the aforementioned "Pinewood Smile". | +1

Former METALLICA Bassist JASON NEWSTED Sells Walnut Creek Home For $2.3 Million
Former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsed has sold his Walnut Creek, California house.
Newsted put the home on the market in August for for $2.89 million, but that price came down in October to $2.475 million. The house ended up being sold on November 26 for $2.3 million.
The five-bedroom, five-bathroom home was built in 1986, and covers 6,720 square feet on a 1.37-acre lot.
Property details, courtesy of Newsted's representative, Douglas Buenz of Compass: "Fabulous modern farmhouse in a premium location with views. Gorgeous custom updates including hardwood floors, designer fixtures, & custom moldings. The new gourmet kitchen features stunning Moroccan tile & high-end Elise appliances. This home features a formal living room, elegant dining room, spacious family room, & 1 bedroom suite downstairs. The master suite features a retreat with balcony, fireplace, & an updated bathroom featuring soaking tub, separate shower, dual sinks, & large walk-in closet. Two large secondary bedrooms on the second level with updated bath plus a huge third story bonus room. Mud room with laundry & half bath. The picturesque yard is an entertainer's dream with patio, wrap-around porch, sprawling lawn area, and dog run. Studio above the detached 3 car garage & full basement (not included in sq ft). This amazing location has views of Mt. Diablo & is minutes from freeways, BART, & downtown. Plus award winning Walnut Creek schools."
A video tour of the house is available below.
Back in 2017, Newsted put up his Sula, Montana ranch for sale at $4.95 million. That price came down by $450,000 in July to $4.5 million. The property has since apparently been removed from the market.
Five years ago, the now-56-year-old Newsted canceled an appearance at Australia's Soundwave festival with his band NEWSTED, citing "private and personal circumstances." The cancelation followed more than a year of intense touring and promotional activity surrounding the release of NEWSTED's "Metal" EP and follow-up album, "Heavy Metal Music", both of which were positively received by the critics and fans alike.
After staying mostly out of the public eye for a couple of years, Newsted rejoined Canadian metal innovators VOIVOD on stage during June 2016 concert at Slim's in San Francisco, California. He has since formed a couple of new acoustic projects, one of which completed a short West Coast tour.
Jason left METALLICA back in 2001 but was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, along with guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett, and the man who replaced him, bassist Robert Trujillo, in 2009.

OZZY And SHARON OSBOURNE To Spend First Christmas Apart In 40 Years
Sharon Osbourne has revealed that she and husband Ozzy will spend Christmas apart for the first time in four decades.
Sharon will stay in London, where she has been appearing in "Nativity! The Musical", while Ozzy will remain at the couple's home in the U.S. due to health issues.
"He's going to stay home with [son] Jack and [daughter] Amy and the grandkids and I'm here [in London] with [daughter] Kelly," Sharon said during an appearance on the British daytime talk show "Loose Women". "It's the first time — this will be our 40th Christmas — that we're not together. It's going to be different. Kelly and I are going out for our Christmas lunch."
Asked how Ozzy is doing, Sharon replied: "He fell and damaged his spine. It's kind of been a domino effect, one thing happens then another thing. The doctors didn't want him to get on the plane. And Ozzy, I must say, is quite nervous about flying all that way."
Earlier this year, Ozzy fell at his Los Angeles home, aggravating years-old injuries from his 2003 ATV accident that required new surgery. As a result, Ozzy scrapped all his 2019 tour dates, both in North America and Europe, as he recovered.
In an interview with the U.K.'s Daily Mail, Osbourne spoke out about the accident and revealed that he initially believed there was very little chance he would bounce back.
"I went to the bathroom in the night, lost my balance and landed flat on my face," he recalled. "I saw this big white flash when I hit the floor and I thought, 'You've finally done it now.' I knew it was bad, I thought I was paralyzed, so very calmly I [told my wife], 'Sharon, I can't move. I think I've done my neck. Phone an ambulance.'"
According to Ozzy, the pain was "constant" following the fall. "The first six months, I was in agony," he said. "I'd say, 'Sharon, you're not telling me the truth. I'm dying, aren't I?' I thought I'd got some terminal illness because the improvement was so slow. I'm getting better, but after the surgery, the nurses asked me on a scale of one to ten how much pain I was in, and I said, '55!' Six months of waking up in the morning and being unable to move is a miserable existence."
Ozzy's new album, "Ordinary Man", will be released in early 2020 via Epic Records.

SATYRICON's Remastered 20th Anniversary Edition Of Rebel Extravaganza Out Now; New Video Trailer Streaming
20 years ago, Satyricon released their groundbreaking fourth studio album, Rebel Extravaganza - an album that marked the start of a black metal evolution and has influenced the genre ever since. The album is now available as a remastered reissue via Napalm Records. A new video trailer can be found below.
By breaking up all given boundaries, Satyr and Frost included progressive and experimental parts, combined with synthesizing time signatures and backed up by guest appearances of genre luminaries like Fenriz (Darkthrone) and Snorre Ruch (Thorns). The album became the main inspiration for a myriad of up-and-coming experimental black metal acts and the birth of a new Satyricon era.
The fully remastered Rebel Extravaganza is released as a special limited 20th anniversary picture double vinyl edition, as 2 LP Gatefold and Digipack.
Satyr on the reissue: "As much as Rebel was a new record to us, it was also a protest. I felt the genre was turning gothic and that there were more interesting and sustainable types of expression that could be incorporated in the black metal to make it grow and spark new life into it. My own bottomless misanthropy at the time, was also instrumental in shaping the record. Frost and I are proud of how this record contributed to a development for the genre we all know now was necessary. This was a record many discovered in hindsight and that says a lot about its complexity, controversy and importance. Today, 20 years later, the new version sounds and looks better than this record has ever done. We hope you feel the same way".

DONNIE VIE - Original ENUFF Z'NUFF Frontman Launches Music Video For "Beautiful Things" Single
Original songwriter/lead vocalist of Enuff Z’Nuff, Donnie Vie, released his latest solo album, Beautiful Things, back in June via Deko Music.
The latest single “Beautiful Things”, is out now and this is what Donnie had to say about the song and new video: “When I wrote 'Beautiful Things', I envisioned something within the lines of the old Willy Wonka land. Just a potpourri of wonderful delicious flavoured treats in a colourful setting. I’ve always been pretty dark so many of my songs were dark. This time around, though I still prefer nighttime, emotionally I feel sunny, and it reflects in the new songs. This song is the first step through a journey with this record. It sets the mood and is lyrically based on silver linings in all things. Paul Gilbert guest stars with amazing guitar."
Donnie has been one of rock’s biggest secrets, who has been crafting melodic power pop and rock songs for over 30 years. He and Enuff Z'Nuff were instant critics’ darlings, with a debut record that soared up the charts generating two long playing MTV hits, "New Thing" and "Fly High Michelle." A “Top Pick” from Rolling Stone Magazine, and inciting numerous TV and radio performances with repeat invitations from David Letterman and Howard Stern, the group released their "self-titled" and follow up Strength on Atco Records, before being picked up by Clive Davis and signed to his Arista label for Animals With Human Intelligence.
Donnie will also be playing Beautiful Things in its entirety along with all the Enuff Z’Nuff hits on January 4 in his native Chicago area at FitzGerald’s Night Club.

BEHEMOTH Frontman's ME AND THAT MAN Project Releases 'Burning Churches' Christmas Song
Blackened blues project ME AND THAT MAN — founded in 2013 by BEHEMOTH frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski — has released a new single, "Burning Churches", accompanied by an obscure audiovisual. Mat McNerney's (GRAVE PLEASURES) raspy, gripping vocal performance accents this outlaw country-inspired blackened blues piece, forging an ominous atmosphere.
The story of "Burning Churches" goes much deeper than a first glance or listen might suggest. The new single tackles the dark, mournful tale of a young boy who was abused by a priest in his childhood. By swearing vengeance on the church and radicalizing himself, he transforms into a sort of satanic anti-hero who seems to gather more followers by the second. Burning churches to the ground, one by one, he gets his revenge. ME AND THAT MAN presents the story in yet another grim snapshot with an elaborate comic strip depiction.
Nergal states about "Burning Churches": "If someone would have told me one day I'd release a Christmas song, I would have burst into laughter. Hell freezes over and I present to you 'Burning Churches'. This time I team up with Mat McNerney from the legendary BEASTMILK, GRAVE PLEASURES, DHG and HEXVESSEL. Make yourself comfortable around the Christmas tree, stoke the fire and grab yourself a drink! Hallelujah."
ME AND THAT MAN released its debut album, "Songs Of Love And Death", in 2017 — introducing the world to its unique brand of folk and blues, mixed with hints of outlaw country. The atmospherically dark album provided a strong contrast to BEHEMOTH with its catchy melodies and relaxed rhythms, and gave Nergal space to express his creativity in a different setting. Since its release, the album's lead single, "My Church Is Black", has racked up over 2.5 million streams on Spotify.
Darski has been a fixture in the music industry for years. As the frontman of black/death metal band BEHEMOTH, Darski has been known to preach unholy sermons, praise Satan and sing about explicit blasphemy. Naturally, the next step was to channel those themes into another genre commonly dubbed as the Devil's music — blues. ME AND THAT MAN is exactly that — Nergal's solo project will surprise and bewitch the listener. The visionary creative founded the band in an effort to showcase his true ability to adapt to any genre. In summer 2018, British/Polish rock musician John Porter left ME AND THAT MAN after the band completed a number of gigs in support of "Songs Of Love And Death".

ANNIHILATOR Frontman / Founder JEFF WATERS Selling Guitars Used During 2019 European Tour
Collectors and fans: Annihilator frontman and founder Jeff Waters is selling off his recent touring guitars.
Says Jeff: "After every tour we do, I get hit with tons of messages asking if I would sell one of my touring guitars. I've been doing that for years so here we go again! The ESP's were my Drop D guitars and the Jackson V's were half-step down axes; also used in the 'Psycho Ward' and 'Armed To The Teeth' videos."
Up for grabs and you can get Jeff to personalize them to you:
- 2 x Red Jackson Vees (identical) with customs Evertune bridges, put on for Jeff 2500 euros + shipping.
- 2 x ESP Arrow II's (blk and grey/blk) with custom Evertune bridges, put on for Jeff 3200 euros + shipping.
These are Jeff Waters' actual touring guitars; not the same idea as if you bought them in a music store, so the price reflects this. Message Jeff waters via his personal Facebook page here if seriously interested.
"These will go quick; they always do..."

REVOLUTION SAINTS Feat. BLADES, ALDRICH, CASTRONOVO: 'When The Heartache Has Gone' Music Video
REVOLUTION SAINTS, the band featuring Deen Castronovo (JOURNEY, BAD ENGLISH), Doug Aldrich (THE DEAD DAISIES, WHITESNAKE, DIO), and Jack Blades (NIGHT RANGER, DAMN YANKEES), will release its third full-length studio album, "Rise", on January 24, 2020 via Frontiers Music Srl.
The official Èric Boadella-directed music video for the song "When The Heartache Has Gone" can be seen below.
As with the first two well-received albums, REVOLUTION SAINTS are bringing back the classic melodic rock style that thrilled and delighted legions of fans in the '80s and '90s and still does today. Inspiring, uplifting vocals, soaring melodies, and musicianship to die for is what you get in spades here.
Superbly handling drums and lead vocals is the one and only Castronovo. Already renowned for his drum talents and backing vocals in JOURNEY, BAD ENGLISH, and more, Deen's excellent vocal talents are once again receiving a well-deserved spotlight on this release. On bass, and co-lead vocals on a few tracks, Blades is well known for his melodic, yet hard-rocking approach to songwriting and playing via multiple classic albums by his main band NIGHT RANGER, as well as with the DAMN YANKEES and the SHAW/BLADES releases. On guitar, Aldrich lends his fiery guitar attack to round out this dream-come-true melodic rock band. Doug, who left WHITESNAKE after a fruitful 12-year run (including co-writing 2010's critically acclaimed "Forevermore" release) and also of BURNING RAIN and formerly of DIO, has a deep pedigree and is one of today’s most respected rock guitarists.
You can tell by the name — and the names involved — that REVOLUTION SAINTS is not going to be your average rock 'n roll band. The project is the vision of Frontiers' president Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project where Deen would be the lead vocalist. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Deen, Jack and Doug on board together was a dream come true for Perugino
With production overseen by more and more in demand in-house Frontiers man Alessandro Del Vecchio, the recording process took place in Milan and in Doug and Jack's own studios in California and Seattle. Songwriting was handled by Del Vecchio, Aldrich, and Blades, with contributions from fellow Frontiers recording artist Dan Rossall (of U.K. newcomers PASSION). Of special note, the poignant ballad "Eyes Of A Child" was penned by Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw.
"Rise" track listing:
01. When The Heartache Has Gone
02. Price To Pay
03. Rise
04. Coming Home
05. Closer
06. Higher
07. Talk To Me
08. It's Not The End (It's Just The Beginning)

SEVENDUST's CLINT LOWERY Releases Music Video For 'Alive' Song
SEVENDUST co-founder, guitarist and vocalist Clint Lowery will release his debut solo album, "God Bless The Renegades", on January 31, 2020 via Rise Records. The official Mark Lediard-directed music video for the track "Alive" can be seen below.
The first single from the album, "Kings", arrived last month. At the time, Lowery said that the song expressed "redemption after a very dark chapter" of his life. "Through the chaos of addiction, navigating toxic relationships, and depression, I came out of it all empowered and more driven than ever," he said.
Lowery recorded the album with producer and co-writer Michael "Elvis" Baskette (SLASH, ALTER BRIDGE) at Studio Barbarosa in Florida. The drums on the disc were laid down by VAN HALEN bassist Wolfgang Van Halen.
"I had 30 or 40 ideas and frameworks for songs," Clint told Digital Journal. "I brought a lot of those to the table to Elvis, my producer. We went through all of those songs and we tried to figure out which songs best represented the material that I wanted to put out as my first solo release. It was very important to pick the right songs, and still connect with the SEVENDUST fanbase and at the same time, try to expand a little bit, and make new fans."
"God Bless The Renegades" track listing:
01. God Bless The Renegades
02. Here
03. Kings
04. Alive
05. What's The Matter
06. You Go First
07. Allowed To Run
08. Silver Lining
09. She's Free
10. Do We Fear God
Lowery originally announced his plans to record a solo album in June 2018. He stated at the time: "In the past, I released a few things close to a solo release with HELLO DEMONS… MEET SKELETONS (mainly acoustic); CALL ME NO ONE, which I did with [SEVENDUST drummer] Morgan Rose. Both projects were truly amazing experiences and still want to entertain doing more CALL ME NO ONE and HELLO DEMONS… MEET SKELETONS in the future. But I've decided to release a project under my name that is gonna represent where I'm at musically right now. I feel the need to do this and stand on my own two feet and push myself to make some music that moves me. To express myself."
HELLO DEMONS… MEET SKELETONS released four EPs between 2009 and 2013.
CALL ME NO ONE issued its debut record, "Last Parade", in May 2012.
In addition to SEVENDUST and CALL ME NO ONE, Lowery has been a member of, written, recorded, or performed with DARK NEW DAY, KORN, RED, Tommy Lee's METHODS OF MAYHEM, SNOT, 10 YEARS and DIGITAL SUMMER, among others. | +2

Listen To New SEPULTURA Song 'Last Time'
"Last Time", a brand new song from Brazilian/American metallers SEPULTURA, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Quadra", which will be released on February 7, 2020 via Nuclear Blast Records.
After relentless touring for its previous opus, 2017's "Machine Messiah", SEPULTURA returned to Sweden's Fascination Street Studios to once again work with producer Jens Bogren. "Quadra" saw the bandmembers pushing their own mental and physical boundaries and has been one of the group's hardest albums to complete.
"On 'Quadra', we felt the urge to revisit that old thrash feeling of 'Beneath The Remains' or 'Arise', only seen through the eyes of today," guitarist Andreas Kisser explains. "Add to that the tribal percussion, the orchestral elements, the choirs, the melodies and the clean vocals and you get a thorough run-through of our entire career, backed by a very contemporary approach." Fueled by an energy almost uncanny for a band that has been active for so long, SEPULTURA storms through a contemporary thrash monument, backed by sublime melodies, a very eerie atmosphere and a fiendishly high level of technicality. Kisser is appreciating these compliments, still maintaining his very down-to-earth approach. "We don't heed the past and we don't try to be preoccupied by the future too much," he says. "We're in the now, trying every day to make SEPULTURA a little bit better. That's what keeping us strong."
And that's what they have been doing for the last 30+ years. Album after album, tour after tour, no gap in between records longer than three years. "Music is all we do," Kisser states matter-of-factly. "If it wouldn't be for SEPULTURA," he laughs, "I would be a sad and lonely guy. SEPULTURA is what we are." And "Quadra" is living testimony to that. The old SEPULTURA echo through the very fibre of the songs in all its raw and morbid splendour, but yet it's the present, the experienced and refined beast that is SEPULTURA in 2020 that's blasting out thrash metal anthems for a fucked-up age.
"There is no reason to put out an album unless you've got something new to tell," Kisser says. "A lot of bands out there are slaves of themselves, trying to repeat their formula. That's stupid! You have to respect the past but you are here now. So... do something different! I mean, we have an amazing history, we did so many different albums with different elements that all added up to the experience we gained over the years. And in the studio, we respect what we did but we are never afraid of trying out new things."
With now 15 albums under their belts, SEPULTURA are the work horses of the metal world, always ready to attack. In many ways, "Quadra" broadens the vision the Brazilian thrash troopers had on "Machine Messiah" (2017), again relying on the impeccable talent of Swedish producing giant Jens Bogren and his Fascination Street Studios. "He is so full of passion, it's unbelievable, man," Kisser raves. "He's really there, he really cares about the projects he's doing. For SEPULTURA, he's like the fifth member of the band. The chemistry was so amazing, 99 percent of what we were trying do to actually worked. That was insane!" Even after more than 30 years at the forefront of international thrash, guitarist Kisser sounds positively baffled by working with Bogren. "We felt like we were in our rehearsal room."
Singer Derrick Green adds: "The experience was like no other time in the studio. I felt the preparation was key in making the recording process go as smooth as possible. We were relentless each day giving everything that we had until complete exhaustion of the mind, body, and soul. This album is a direct result of the sign of times. The music is an evolution needed to push ourselves to go further than we ever have."
Bringing together a monumental grandeur and a wild, untamed ferocity, SEPULTURA stepped up their game musically — and conceptually as well. "We were possessed by the number four, by the numerology of it", Kisser starts to explain. "I divided the album into four parts as if we were doing a double vinyl. Side one is the pure and raw thrash side. Side two brings in the rhythms and percussion from our 'Roots' era. Three is getting a bit experimental and four brings forth the melodies and the acoustic guitars." With John North's book "Quadrivium" as a further source of inspiration, SEPULTURA dive deep into a mystical world full of hidden meanings. "You have four seasons and twelve month in a year just to pick one example. A lot of stuff in our culture is divided like that.
"Plus, Quadra also is the Portuguese word for 'sport court' that by definition is a limited area of land, with regulatory demarcations, where according to a set of rules the game takes place," he adds. "We all come from different Quadras. The countries, all nations with their borders and traditions; culture, religions, laws, education and a set of rules where life takes place." In the Quadra of thrash, however, we all are the same. And we bow our heads in unison to the mighty leader that is SEPULTURA.
"Quadra" track listing:
01. Isolation
02. Means To An End
03. Last Time
04. Capital Enslavement
05. Ali
06. Raging Void
07. Guardians Of Earth
08. The Pentagram
09. Autem
10. Quadra
11. Agony Of Defeat
12. Fear; Pain; Suffering
The cover for "Quadra" was created by Christiano Menezes for Darkside Books.
"Machine Messiah" was SEPULTURA's fourteenth studio album and the eighth since Green joined the ranks. Lyrically, the disc tackled the metaphorical robotization of society and the need to follow and worship someone.
SEPULTURA was formed in 1984 in Belo Horizonte by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, who are no longer with the band.

ALICE COOPER Says JOHNNY DEPP Would 'Rather Play Guitar Than Act'
During a recent interview with Tommy Sommers of Three Sides Of The Coin, rock legend Alice Cooper spoke at length about HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES, his side project with actor Johnny Depp and AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry.
"Right now," Alice explained, "Johnny's doing movies and Joe's doing the [AEROSMITH] residency in Vegas, and I'm doing my [solo] tour, so we always have to plan the VAMPIRES around that, which is kind of tricky. In order to book a VAMPIRES tour, you have to look a year ahead. Next year, we've got a lot of European dates coming up and possibly even a Chinese tour, which would be interesting... That band is great because I don't have to play Alice Cooper in that band. I'm the lead singer. Alice will never talk to the audience [during solo performances] until the very end of the show, whereas Alice in the VAMPIRES talks to the audience all night. If we do a DOORS song, I'll tell them a story about Jim Morrison. If we do a WHO song, I'll tell them a story about Keith Moon. You have a wealth — all those stories, and the audience wants to hear that."
Cooper says that despite having three well-known and successful figures in the band, the members of HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES get along splendidly. "You take three alpha males like that — and that's not counting the other guys in the band that are all in big bands — and realize that there's never been an argument, there's never been anybody leaving stage angry," Cooper said. "During rehearsal, we've never had an argument. It's a very cooperative band, and we get things done that way. Johnny gets up there and plays his butt off. He's there for rehearsal before I get there. People are really surprised when they hear him play because they don't realize how good of a guitar player he is. I think he'd rather play guitar than act. I told him not to lose his day job, because we can't pay him $25 million a show, but I think he loves playing guitar and he loves being up on stage... It's kind of nice that I'm not always the frontman. I can move around and other people can take the lead. To me, that's a lot of freedom."
Even though HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES's second album, "Rise", was released just six months ago, Cooper says he's already planning the group's future recordings. "I don't live in the past at all," he said. "I love doing the [old] songs, but I don't live in the past. I think if you think that you've written your best songs, you should stop writing songs. If you think you've done your best shows, you should stop. Retire. I can understand people retiring if that's their attitude. I guarantee you Paul McCartney thinks he has not written his best songs yet. I guarantee you Bob Dylan [thinks he] has not written his best songs yet. I look at it the same way. That song is still out there... I have millions of fans out there that want to hear new music. They want to see what's Alice writing about now... [My] next album's all about Detroit. It's, like, a tribute to Detroit, and I've already got an idea for the album after that that I think is going to really be good. I'm thinking two albums ahead. Same for the VAMPIRES — I'm already thinking two albums ahead for the VAMPIRES."
"Rise" — which was produced by Tommy Henriksen, a member of Cooper's solo band since 2011 — was released on June 21 via earMUSIC.
HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES was founded by Depp, Cooper and Perry in 2015 to honor the music of rock legends who died from excess. The name was taken from a celebrity drinking club formed by Cooper in the 1970s.
On its two studio albums, the band has covered the likes of THE WHO, THE DOORS, LED ZEPPELIN, David Bowie and Johnny Thunders.

STABBING WESTWARD To Release First New Music In Nearly Two Decades
Industrial rockers STABBING WESTWARD will release their first collection of new music since 2001 early next year. A new EP titled "Dead & Gone" will arrive on January 3.
The group said in a statement: We have been working on new music for a few years now and are finally ready to begin releasing it starting with our first new music since 2001. 'Dead & Gone' features 3 brand new songs and 2 remixes and will be available as a digital download as well as a CD with full color artwork."
STABBING WESTWARD released an EP in 1992, followed by four studio albums between 1994 and 2001. The band achieved its first certified gold albums with both 1996's "Wither Blister Burn & Peel" and 1998's "Darkest Days". After STABBING WESTWARD disbanded in 2002, frontman Christopher Hall formed THE DREAMING, with whom he recorded three albums. Hall and keyboardist Walter Flakus reformed STABBING WESTWARD in 2016 to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary, and they have continued to perform.
in 2016, STABBING WESTWARD released a re-recorded version of the song "Plastic Jesus" on the "Cold Waves V" compilation. Another track called "Home in You", which was originally written for the band's 2001 self-titled album, was made available in 2017 via the "Cold Waves VI" compilation.
STABBING WESTWARD's current lineup includes Hall, Flakus, THE DREAMING's Carlton Bost on bass, and former ORGY drummer Bobby Amaro.
In an October 2018 interview with CrypticRock.com, Hall stated about the prospect of new music from STABBING WESTWARD: "We discussed it a lot. We played Cold Waves festival last year and the year before. Both times they asked us to contribute a song to a compilation record they sell to give to the anti-suicide charity they work with. The first time we did an old song that was off the original four-song EP from 1988 that we never released. We re-recorded it and gave them that. We played it at the show, and that was the very first STABBING WESTWARD show we had done in twenty years. People were just so stoked to see us at a sold-out club in Chicago that no one cared they played a new song they didn't know. Then, the next year, after we played around a dozen shows, we gave them another new song. It was a song we had written for the self-titled album that was too heavy for it. It was a really good song; we had written 20 songs, and only used 10. We played it and I thought people would be sort of excited to hear new music. That was the moment it dawned on me, maybe people don't want to hear new music. We put the song sixth or seventh in the set, played a bunch of songs they knew, people were pumped, then I said, 'We are going to play a new song.' People cheered, then we started playing, and I saw everyone's head drop down and started looking at their phone. Everyone started glowing blue as they started looking at their social media. I thought, 'Maybe they are tweeting how awesome the new song is.' Then they never looked up again. [Laughs] I thought, 'Oh, no, they are just bored! They don't know the song, so they are taking a quick break to check their Facebook or whatever.' We lost them, and it wasn't until a couple of songs later that we regained the lost energy. That was when I was, like, 'Shit, if we do a new record, is anyone going to hear it at a show?' THE DREAMING, they always expected new music, because that's all there ever was. We mixed in some STABBING WESTWARD hits, but mostly it was all songs I had written over the past 10 years. People expected that. But at a STABBING show, people are in a mind frame of wanting to hear the songs they knew in high school or college."
He continued: "I think perhaps if we release some material, an EP or something, let people hear it, get it on Spotify, and get a chance to listen to it first. Then it's not new, and you don't know what's going on. Hopefully people are open to it, because I don't want to sing the same old songs forever and ever. We will never be a band that says, 'I'm tired of 'Save Yourself'; we are not going to play that anymore.' We will never be that band. We will always give the fans what they want, we will always play the hits and songs they want. It would be nice to occasionally toss in a new song. [Laughs] There is stuff I want to say and new stuff I want to sing about. I just don't know how excited people would be to hear it."

AC/DC Bassist CLIFF WILLIAMS Returns To Live Stage: Video, Photos
AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams joined the Florida-based classic rock cover band 24 CARAT on stage in early November for a performance at a private party. Video footage of his appearance can be seen at this location. Photos are available below.
In August 2018, singer Brian Johnson and drummer Phil Rudd, along with guitarists Angus Young and Stevie Young, were photographed outside Vancouver's Warehouse Studios. Based on the pictures, the assumption at the time was that AC/DC was in the midst of making — or at least planning — another album, with Rudd and Johnson both back in the lineup.
Williams, who announced his retirement from AC/DC more than three years ago, wasn't seen in any of the images from the Warehouse, leading many fans to speculate that he was not involved in the band's latest recording sessions.
But this past February, a photo surfaced on social media suggesting that Williams has also returned to AC/DC and will appear on the rumored comeback album which is expected to be released in the coming months.
When Williams confirmed his retirement in an emotional video following the end of the group's "Rock Or Bust" world tour, he stated that it was "time" for him "to step out." His decision followed a string of personnel changes for the group that started with co-founding guitarist Malcolm Young's departure in 2014 after he was diagnosed with dementia. In 2015, Rudd was sentenced to house arrest after he was found guilty on a drug charge, while in early 2016, Johnson was forced to step down or face the loss of his hearing.
Cliff acknowledged the numerous changes that the band had undergone in recent years, and noted AC/DC has been dealing with such tumult since the death of singer Bon Scott.
"Everything changes, so it's not that," he said. "It's just, I'm ready to get off the road and do what I do in between tours."
While AC/DC has yet to officially reveal any details of a new studio recording, online reports have also indicated that Angus will dedicate the new album to his late brother Malcolm. The latter passed away in 2017.
Johnson left AC/DC mid-tour and was eventually replaced on the road by GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose.
So this just happened!

Recorded, engineered and mixed at Barnyard Studios by Tony Newton and produced by Steve Harris, "The Burning" is crammed with powerful hard rock melodies, with two songs "Lightning" and "Spit Fire" being made available for immediate download from tomorrow with all album pre-orders.
Taylor said: "We've been working on 'The Burning' for the past couple of years and everyone is really pleased with the results. We started playing some of the songs live on recent tours and got a fantastic reaction from our fans so we are really excited to be sharing this album with the world. We're also looking forward to heading out on the road again and seeing everyone at the shows."
BRITISH LION has been tirelessly honing its live show performances with club tours every year and festival dates whenever time allows, building and establishing a firm and dedicated fan-base, reaching 24 countries across the globe so far.
Asked how the musical direction of BRITISH LION's follow-up effort will be different from "British Lion", Harris told The Metal Voice: "The band has evolved over the last five or six years live — we've played quite a lot of shows in Europe and stuff — so it's become more of a tighter band. I think we've found our direction is naturally evolving, and if anything, I think it's getting heavier than it was, really. It's very melodic. The songs are… I don't know… There's still kind of a UFO, THIN LIZZY type of influence, I think, in a lot of them, [and] there are influences too, but in general, I think we are getting just a little bit harder-edged, really. These days, I suppose there are some bands that make even MAIDEN sound like THE MOODY BLUES — there's some real, real heavy bands out there — so what I think is heavy and what other people think is 'getting heavier' is two [completely different things]. But we feel we're a bit harder-edged than we were. So it is a bit of a slight directional change, possibly. But it's been a natural thing; it's not something we consciously thought, 'Oh, we've gotta go this way.' It's just been the way we're playing our live shows — it's very powerful, much more powerful live than on record, I think. And I think with the second record, we've tried to capture that essence of what we are live more."
BRITISH LION's debut album sold around 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 3 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. | +2

Watch Original AC/DC Singer DAVE EVANS Perform 'Whole Lotta Rosie' On FOX SPORTS' 'Nunca Es Tarde'
Earlier this year, original AC/DC singer Dave Evans returned to the "Nunca Es Tarde" show, which airs on the Fox Sports channel in Latin America, to perform the band's classic song "Whole Lotta Rosie". Video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
Dave recorded AC/DC's first two singles, "Can I Sit Next To You Girl" and "Baby Please Don't Go". But in October 1974, less than a year after AC/DC's first gig, Evans was out of the band.
This past August, Evans said that he would consider writing a book about his time with the band if the "right publisher" approached him with an offer.
"A lot of people want the book," he told The Metal Voice. "That first 12 months of the band was incredible. So much happened in that 12 months. And I know a lot of fans want me to write a book about what happened, 'cause I'm the only one who can write it.
"If the right publisher approached me and wanted to give me an advance, I would write the story, and the fans would absolutely love that story," Dave continued. "It's a story that's never been told. And a lot of people should be mentioned, actually, in that first 12 months — a lot of important people. It's a great story. I'm part of that story."
Earlier this year, Dave told Wales Online that "a lot happened' during his time with AC/DC. "We had our first record, our first gigs, our first tour, three bass players, we played some of the biggest venues in Australia. It was an amazing time.
"We were always very ambitious. When you're young, you want to show the world what you've got. We were doing shows, but, basically, we weren't getting paid. The management had money but we were basically starving, so one night we'd had a few drinks and I said my piece and it all kicked off.
"I said, 'That's it, I quit.' I finished the rest of the tour and then we had a meeting where it was decided that I was out. I said 'fine' and that was that. I was no longer in AC/DC."
Evans was replaced later in 1974 by Bon Scott, who sang on AC/DC's first six studio albums and became a legend himself after his death in 1980.
Evans said he "never had a problem with Bon," adding, "He had an opportunity to take my place and become the singer for AC/DC. I would have done the same thing. Bon was a rock and roller and as hard as me... He was quite a few years older than me but we grew up tough and did the hard knocks."
Evans told Wales Online that his former bandmates have not acknowledged his role in AC/DC's early history, saying, "They like to pretend in interviews that Bon Scott was there from the very beginning. The truth of the matter is that a lot went on before Bon became involved — in fact, the band had already got through two bass players, three drummers and a handful of managers by that point... all the stuff [Bon would] later do onstage with AC/DC, like taking off his shirt and carrying Angus around on his shoulders, was nicked off me." | +2

CHESTER BENNINGTON's Ex-Wife To Receive 50% Of His LINKIN PARK Royalties
According to TMZ, Chester Bennington's ex-wife will receive 50 percent of his LINKIN PARK royalties.
Two years ago, Samantha Olit, who was married to the LINKIN PARK singer from 1996 until 2005, filed a claim with the Bennington estate demanding the royalties as well as child support. The child support portion was withdrawn back in June.
The executor filed legal docs with the probate court, stating that he would allow Samantha's royalties claim, which includes a share of the non-touring merch, publishing rights and a share of the master sound records.
Samantha and Chester's son, Draven, was born on April 19, 2002.
Chester married Talinda Bennington shortly after his divorce from Samantha, and had three children with her.
It was revealed in October 2017 that Chester left his entire estate to his widow and his six children.
The LINKIN PARK singer, who tragically took his own life in July 2017, left his retirement account to Talinda Bennington and divided the remaining assets among his six kids through the Chester And Talinda Bennington Family Trust. The trust was created in 2007 and amended in 2009, according to the will documents obtained by TMZ.
TMZ previously reported that Chester requested his children to visit each other after his death, even dedicating a fund for them to use for trips.
Chester committed suicide at the age of 41. He was buried in a private service nine days later.
Samantha reportedly made a public post on Facebook in August 2017, claiming that she and Draven were not allowed to speak at Chester's funeral, that the service itself resembled a radio festival and that there had been a "lack of respect and honesty" on the part of Talinda. Samantha also claimed that Chester's parents were not at the funeral and not mentioned in the program, which she said looked like a "cheap happy-hour menu." | +1

SYMPHONY X Singer RUSSELL ALLEN Teams Up With Ex-NIGHTWISH Frontwoman ANETTE OLZON In ALLEN/OLZON
Noted progressive metal vocalists Russell Allen (SYMPHONY X, ADRENALINE MOB) and Anette Olzon (THE DARK ELEMENT, ex-NIGHTWISH) will release a collaborative album in 2020.
The project — which will apparently be released under the moniker ALLEN/OLZON — is included in a short preview video of Frontiers Music Srl's 2020 releases. Amazon.de also currently lists an upcoming release titled "Worlds Apart", which features an advertised street date of March 6.
Since the end of her five-year stint with NIGHTWISH in 2012, Olzon released a solo album, 2014's "Shine", and formed THE DARK ELEMENT with former SONATA ARCTICA guitarist Jani Liimatainen. The group's self-titled debut album was released in 2017; a follow-up, "Songs The Night Sings", was released on November 8.
Over the past 14 years, Allen — best known as the front man of long-running progressive metal group SYMPHONY X — has released four acclaimed collaborative albums with Norwegian singer Jørn Lande (MASTERPLAN, AVANTASIA, JORN). The first three ALLEN/LANDE releases were produced and written by Swedish guitarist Magnus Karlsson (PRIMAL FEAR, STARBREAKER), with the fourth and most recent — 2014's "The Great Divide" — produced and written by former STRATOVARIUS guitarist Timo Tolkki.
Karlsson apparently reunited with Allen to produce "Worlds Divide", as Frontiers posted a picture of the two together in May with the caption, "Magnus Karlsson and Russell Allen together again for a new, fantastic album. More news and details to follow soon!"
Allen — who has toured with TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA since 2013 — was recently injured during the rehearsals for TSO's annual winter tour. He will spend much of 2020 touring with SYMPHONY X, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year.
Magnus Karlsson and Russell Allen together again for a new, fantastic album. More news and details soon!

HATEBREED To Release New Studio Album In May 2020
Connecticut hardcore/metal masters HATEBREED will tentatively release their next album in May. The follow-up to 2016's "The Concrete Confessional" is being produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has previously worked with ROB ZOMBIE and QUEENSRŸCHE, among many others.
The news of the HATEBREED album's release date was revealed on Twitter by vocalist Jamey Jasta, who also confirmed that he is planning to issue a new LP from his JASTA project in December 2020.
Earlier this year, HATEBREED drummer Matt Byrne told Heavy New York that his band "absolutely" has a specific formula or a template when it comes to songwriting. "I think record to record, the earlier you go, the more 'hardcore' you would find the material," he said. "But as we've progressed through the years, I think we've injected more and more 'metal' into it. We're fans of both genres. I think that's just what we listen to and what we like to play, so naturally, that's the type of stuff we're gonna write.
"On our self-titled [album], we experimented a little bit," he continued. "That's where we started really experimenting with — not so much singing, but maybe holding a note in the vocal lines and adding some more guitar solos, a little bit more shred work, instead of just — which is the typical HATEBREED formula — simple song structure, short structure, fast part, breakdown, mid-tempo; there's always those elements within the music. And that is the identity, I think that is the formula; that's what we naturally have always done. We've always been fans of music that comes right out of the box and just punches you in the face, and I think the longer the song — how people are nowadays anyway — the longer the song, people kind of get lost and the attention dwindles and stuff. So we're short and to the point, man — we get it done. We just punch you in the face and then we're gone. If there's a formula, that would be it — just short and concise, short and sweet."
Jasta's latest solo album "The Lost Chapters - Volume 2" came out on December 13. The disc features guest appearances by Matthew K. Heafy (TRIVIUM), Jesse Leach (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE), Max Cavalera (SOULFLY), Howard Jones (LIGHT THE TORCH), George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher (CANNIBAL CORPSE), Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR, KINGDOM OF SORROW), and many more.
Dec. 2020 For Sure! Gotta finish & release new #Hatebreed first
So new HB in May, then #AndJastaForAll next Dec! HARD! ????? https://t.co/ivlSpKPwna

LARS ERIC MATTSSON Streaming “Heart Of Stone” From Upcoming Astral Groove 25th Anniversary Edition Reissue
Guitarist Lars Eric Mattsson will release the 25th anniversary edition of his Astral Groove album on January 9 through Lion Music. A video for “Heart Of Stone” is streaming below.
Astral Groove was recorded in 1994 after Mattsson played for about a year in a cover band doing Jimi Hendrix and blues classics, so it is no big surprise that this release is pretty heavy on the blues vibe. Usually described as hard rock with funk and blues influences Astral Groove is a bit different from other albums that Lars had been involved in. It was by accident that this project ever came true. Lars had been writing the material with the plan that the musicians in his 1994-95 cover band, Voodoo Chile would record the songs, but it just did not work, so in stepped vocalist Bjorn Lodin, coming from his own band Baltimoore, which had just released its fourth album and also split up. Bass player Michael Ahlskog had previously played in Vision as well as on Lars' earlier solo recordings. Drummer Thomas Tornefjell made the band complete. Several reasons, both personal and commercial, killed the band which never got a chance to perform live. But the music lives on - and you can't deny that Astral Groove was jam packed with great feel.
In 2019 Lars revisited the master recordings and came up with the ultimate version of this timeless classic album. There are still a few unused tracks from these 1994 sessions that will probably see the light of day eventually.
Tracklisting:
“Heart Of Stone”
“If I Could Fly”
“Can’t Find A Way”
“Burning Desire”
“King Of Lost Dreams”
“Until We Meet”
“No Way To Misunderstand”

CYHRA Release Guitar Playthrough Video For "Bye Bye Forever"
Cyhra released their sophomore album, No Halos In Hell, last month via Nuclear Blast. Check out their new guitar playthrough video for the song, "Bye Bye Forever":
Founded by vocalist Jake E (ex-Amaranthe) and guitarist Jesper Strömblad (ex-In Flames), Cyhra has gone from being reminiscent of the duo's former bands to having a unique identity. In fact, No Halos In Hell is one of those rare albums that defies being neatly placed in a genre box; coming out heavy and dynamic, the record is loaded with melodic vocal hooks that stay nailed to the brain for days, achieving maximum impact throughout. Fusing a relentless energy and heaviness the best way possible was Cyhra's main focus this time out. The addition of guitarist Euge Valovirta (ex-Shining) as a full member has raised the creative process to a level where, according to Jake E, "Everyone is playing to the point of what is best for the song.” No Halos In Hell is one of those rare albums that defies being neatly placed in a genre box: delivering tunes that are both heavy and dynamic, the record is loaded with melodic vocal hooks and musical ear-worms.
Produced by Jacob Hansen and co-produced by the band's very own Jake E, the album is filled with 12 live-oriented songs, ensuring maximum catchiness.
No Halos In Hell is available as 2 CD digipak, black vinyl or download. The bonus CD included in the limited digipak includes six additional songs, three of them being exclusive acoustic versions. You can order the format of your choice here.
