MÖTLEY CRÜE Releases 2019 Music Video For 'Looks That Kill' Featuring Footage From 'The Dirt'

MÖTLEY CRÜE has released a 2019 music video for the "Shout At The Devil" album song "Looks That Kill", with additional footage from the band's biopic "The Dirt". Check it out below.

"The Dirt", based on CRÜE's 2001 New York Times bestselling autobiography, debuted in March on Netflix. The film's stars, Douglas Booth (Nikki Sixx), "Game Of Thrones"' Iwan Rheon (Mick Mars), Colson Baker (a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly) (Tommy Lee), Daniel Webber (Vince Neil), David Costabile (Doc McGhee) and Pete Davidson (Tom Zutaut) have all gotten critical kudos. "They possess similar abilities to navigate between charm and repulsion, all working together to create such a chummy group that their power as an ensemble elevates the material. Just like their real-life counterparts," wrote The Guardian.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx said: "In the film, we show painful examples of domestic violence, DUI, manslaughter, drug overdose and the loss of a child. We couldn't possibly have crammed everything from a 430-page book into an-hour-and-50-minute movie, but we felt we achieved our objective of showing the downside of sex drugs and rock and roll."

"The Dirt Soundtrack" features four new songs, including the first single, "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (feat. Machine Gun Kelly)", and CRÜE's unlikely cover of Madonna's "Like A Virgin".

MÖTLEY CRÜE's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles", which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.

CRÜE will team up with DEF LEPPARD, POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS for a 22-date North American stadium tour next summer. "The Stadium Tour" kicks off July 7 at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium and winds down on September 5 at Los Angeles's SoFi Stadium. Tickets go on sale on December 13 at 10:00 a.m.

The trek marks CRÜE's first live dates since wrapping its 2014/2015 farewell tour. The band toured with POISON back in 2011 and DEF LEPPARD teamed up with POISON for a string of road dates in 2017 — but the upcoming jaunt marks the first time all four acts have hit the road together for an extended tour.

SERJ TANKIAN Says He Is 'All For' SYSTEM OF A DOWN Putting Out Previously Unreleased Material

Serj Tankian says that he is in favor of putting out a collection of previously unreleased SYSTEM OF A DOWN songs.

A petition was recently launched online by fans campaigning for the band to release material left over from SYSTEM OF A DOWN's past album sessions. Serj was asked about the petition via his Patreon, and he responded (see below): "For the unreleased Soad songs ? Yes. I'm all for it. Convince everyone else"

Three months ago, Tankian said that nothing has changed with regard to SYSTEM's inability to record a follow-up to its 2005 albums "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize".

Last year, SYSTEM guitarist Daron Malakian publicly accused Tankian of not wanting to record, with Tankian responding that creative and financial issues with Malakian led to the stalemate. In a message on Facebook, Tankian wrote that Malakian wanted to control SYSTEM's creative process, take more of the publishing money and be the only band member to speak to the press.

Asked if there have been any further discussions about SYSTEM finally returning to the studio, Serj told Billboard: "The status has not changed. We tour. We do shows together. We haven't been able to see eye to eye to continue as far as creating new music together. Maybe one day that will change, maybe that won't, but we're all close friends and we enjoy each other's company and we're like family at this point, after 25 years. We'll be announcing some new shows soon."

Earlier in the year, Serj told Rolling Stone that the public airing of his dispute with Daron didn't open up any more conversations about SYSTEM's future. "I think it released a lot of tension and negativity," he said. "Everything became more public and open, and that was that. There were no further discussions."

SYSTEM OF A DOWN played a couple of live shows in May, including headlining slots at Columbus, Ohio's Sonic Temple festival and Chicago Open Air.

The band will perform a number of European concerts in 2020, including at Finland's Provinssi and Germany's Rock Am Ring festivals.

Watch MYLES KENNEDY Play 'Hallelujah' On JEFF BUCKLEY's Guitar

On December 9, ALTER BRIDGE performed at Paris, France's L'Olympia, a venue very near to the band's hearts due to it being the location where Jeff Buckley's historic 2001 live album was recorded. To mark the occasion, ALTER BRIDGE frontman Myles Kennedy got to play a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" — famously covered by Buckley — on Jeff's actual 1983 Telecaster guitar.

Before the performance, Kennedy dedicated the song to Buckley, calling the musician "probably one of my biggest influences" and saying that "we owe a great debt" to Jeff, who tragically died in May 1997 in an accidental drowning at the age of 30.

Earlier this year, Kennedy told Music Radar about Buckley: "Jeff was such an important musical figure in my evolution, especially in the early to mid-'90s. Don't get me wrong, I loved what was happening in Seattle. I'm from the Pacific Northwest and am very proud of all those bands and how much they affected music. But at that stage in my development, I was really trying to figure out how to integrate blues and R&B into what I was doing, to help inspire my own sound… I was just looking for guide posts.

"When Jeff Buckley came out, there was such a level of musicianship and emotive quality to his voice that really appealed to me. He had this angelic sound which I hadn't heard many male singers utilize. He used a lot of falsetto and soft-spoken ideas, almost more of a feminine side, which I thought was really interesting. He had this power in his upper register. It was ferocious when he went into those almost Robert Plant-style wails; then he would bring it down into something very soft that would draw you in. It was his sense of dynamics and that overall control over his voice that really appealed to me. 'Grace' is a truly brilliant album… I think we were robbed of a great talent there."

ALTER BRIDGE is continuing to tour in support of its latest LP, "Walk The Sky", which came out in October.

METALLICA's 'Black Album' Has Now Spent More Than 550 Weeks On BILLBOARD 200 Chart

According to Forbes, METALLICA's self-titled 1991 album — often referred to as "The Black Album" — has now spent 550 nonconsecutive weeks, or just over 10 and a half years, on the Billboard 200 chart. The LP is the fourth release in American history to hit the 550-week milestone, behind PINK FLOYD's "The Dark Side Of The Moon" (which is approaching 1,000 weeks on the list), BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS' "Legend" and JOURNEY's "Greatest Hits".

In 2014, "Metallica" became the first album to sell 16 million copies since Nielsen SoundScan started tracking sales in 1991.

The album in 2009 surpassed SHANIA TWAIN's 1997 record, "Come On Over", as the best-selling CD of the SoundScan era.

Although METALLICA had scored their first radio and video airplay with their previous effort, 1988's "...And Justice For All", the black album was the band's biggest commercial breakthrough, producing five singles and making them into one of the most popular rock bands in the world.

Drummer Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone in 1991 about the record's musical shift: "We felt inadequate as musicians and as songwriters (early in our career). That made us go too far, around 'Master Of Puppets' and on '...And Justice For All', in the direction of trying to prove ourselves. We'll do all this weird-ass shit sideways to prove that we are capable musicians and songwriters."

Ulrich added about the eight months it took to make the album: "[Recording] should have gone quicker, in theory, than trying to get everything note-perfect like we have before. But as usual with METALLICA, all those theories and normalities go straight out the window. It took us twice as long to make a record that is twice as loose."

The album was the first of four collaborations with producer Bob Rock, with whom the band clashed throughout the recording of the disc. Rock recalled to Music Radar: "The first three months were difficult. They were all very suspicious of me. It wasn't a fun, easy record to make. I told the guys when we were done that I'd never work with them again. They felt the same way about me."

Ulrich said about Rock in NME: "We'd never really had anybody push us before… We've always thought of ourselves as 'Big Bad Metallica,' but Bob taught us a new word none of us had ever heard before: soulful."

METALLICA performed the black album in its entirety at a number of European festivals in 2012.

SEVEN STRAIT Reveal JOHNNY CASH Cover “Folsom Prison”

Seven Strait have unveiled their cover of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison” today. The song is from their upcoming debut album Rise From The Ashes which was produced by Mark S. Berry (I Mother Earth, Headstones).

Comprised of Dustin Penny, Staffan Osterlind and Matt O'Rourke, Seven Strait serves up a fresh take on Modern Rock, which the Multinational band (members hailing from Canada and Sweden) describe as #NewAgedRock.

Speaking about the track, singer and multi-instrumentalist Dustin Penny says: “We really feel that we’ve done Johnny Cash justice. This is just one of those songs people love, and we have been getting some really great advance feedback from all over the world.”

Recording in Toronto with Mark S. Berry at the helm, Seven Strait began to take shape as a band during pre-production when Dustin enlisted drummer Matt O'Rourke and guitarist Staffan Osterlind; their combined contributions revealed an unmistakable chemistry.

Special guests on the album include Darren Smith (Red Dragon Cartel, Harem Scarem) on background vocals, and former The Guess Who guitarist Dale Russell.

Armed with insanely catchy songs and a ‘take on the world’ attitude, Seven Strait are more than ready to share their #NewAgedRock with new audiences.

“We believe in our music and we believe in ourselves. We are devoted to our music as each one of us brings an electric twist to the mix. Combined with the fans, our rain becomes THUNDER!”

Their ten song offering Rise From The Ashes, set for a digital release via TLG/INgrooves Music Group in 2020, delivers big hooks, heartfelt lyrics and an infectious sense of positive enthusiasm.

Ex-NEVERMORE/SANCTUARY Bassist JAMES SHEPPARD Launches New Project THE DEAD HEART COLLECTIVE, Inspired By WARREL DANE

Former NEVERMORE and SANCTUARY bassist James Sheppard has launched a new project called THE DEAD HEART COLLECTIVE, featuring music and lyrics inspired by his former bandmate, late NEVERMORE and SANCTUARY singer Warrel Dane.

Dane died in December 2017 in São Paulo, Brazil at the age of 56. The musician reportedly had a heart attack during the night and could not be revived. At the time of his death, Warrel was recording his posthumously released solo album "Shadow Work".

On December 13 2019 — the second anniversary of Dane's passing — Sheppard officially launched THE DEAD HEART COLLECTIVE by releasing the first samples of his newly written music and taking part in a Facebook Live chat in which he talked about and shared memories of Warrel. Sheppard has also sent his synopsis of THE DEAD HEART COLLECTIVE to BLABBERMOUTH.NET in which he explained his decision to start a new project as a vehicle for Warrel to "channel songs and paintings" through him.

James wrote: "Hello my name is James Sheppard. Some of you may know me from the prolific underground metal bands SANCTUARY and NEVERMORE.

"Warrel Dane and I spent several years together giving our music to the world, and we were blessed to work with such great such musical talents as Lenny Rutledge (SANCTUARY) and, of course, Jeff Loomis (NEVERMORE), one of the most brilliant guitarists and songwriters ever. Without them, none of this would be possible, so i just want to say a heartfelt 'thank you' at the onset of this new journey I have departed on.

"Where do I begin? [In] 1984, when I met Warrel, we immediately recognized each other as soulmates. After three decades of loving each other, music and fine cuisine, we were given the amazing gift of owning an Italian restaurant together. We traveled all over this cold blue orb and absolutely rocked millions of devoted fans. When we returned from touring, we served them some of the best Italian dishes in Seattle.

"Life has been amazing. Then it caught on fire.

"Recently WD passed away. I was devastated. For days and weeks, I was lost, waiting for him to show me that he was not lost forever. There were no apparitions. There were no mystical dreams. There were no ghostly visions. There was only the cold hard reality that he was gone. I lost all faith and hope.

"At my house, I had my guitar parked in my living room like some kind of cathartic display. Late one night in February of [2018], I felt a familiar hand on my back and it pushed into my retired guitar. I immediately picked it up the guitar and wrote the first song for DHC by the next morning. As dawn arrived, it dawned on me that this was how we always had communicated best, through the connection of music, and this is how we will communicate while torn between dimensions. Being soulmates, a window opened up to the other side and we started talking again but in a different language. WD started to channel more songs and paintings through me that I now refer to as 'THE DEAD HEART COLLECTIVE.' I opened my soul to this new strange new world.

"To the skeptic: Keep in mind while looking and listening that I've never painted anything before other than my house. As a bassist, I wrote bass lines for my bands. I have not played a six-string guitar since I was a teenager. But here I am suddenly finding myself as a singer, songwriter and painter/artist, all through WD's inspiration. WD has given me his blessing to offer our secret world to you in this new Magickal format. Every song is attached to and illustrated by a painting. They come with an added commentary on the connection and the process of this otherworldly art.

"Please join us weekly on our podcast, where I will spill all the dirt on life with WD, NEVERMORE, SANCTUARY and whatever I choose to talk about. Please join the mailing list, and leave your comments and questions. I look forward to hearing from you.

"James Patrick Sheppard and WD"

NEVERMORE effectively split up in 2011 when Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams announced their departure from the band due to personal differences with Dane and Sheppard. Warrel later described NEVERMORE in an interview as "the greatest band that alcohol ever ruined."

SANCTUARY, which reformed in 2010 after an 18-year break, has spent recent years touring in support of its comeback album, 2014's "The Year The Sun Died", as well as 2016's "Inception", an album comprised of presumed lost 1986 studio recordings. The band is currently fronted by Joseph Michael, who is also the singer for WITHERFALL.

EVANESCENCE To Begin Recording New Album In Early 2020

Prior to EVANESCENCE's ill-fated appearance at the Knotfest Meets Forcefest in Mexico City on November 30, singer Amy Lee confirmed to Summa Inferno that she and her bandmates were in process of composing material for the long-awaited follow-up to their 2011 self-titled effort. "We're working on a new album — the first time in a long time," she said (see video below). "We've been just getting together for a little band camp — little writing camps — for a few days and we just work on new music. So, I'm excited. I think it sounds awesome. We're going in the studio sometime in the beginning of next year to start [recording] some of it. We're not gonna do it all at once; we're gonna just, like, 'go as we go' kind of thing. So, yeah, there should be new music to hear pretty soon."

In a recent Reddit AMA, Lee stated about how EVANESCENCE's new material was shaping up: "Well, I listen to our new music every day. I'm absolutely living in it. This is always the case for me, really, but I'm in the center of the zone right now, watching the picture take shape and swimming inside every new piece as it appears. I can't wait for you to hear it. It's dark and heavy. It's also got moments of weird and sparse. Little bit of everything. Definitely some 'The Open Door' [2006] vibes, but not the same."

EVANESCENCE and SLIPKNOT were forced to cancel their appearances at the first day of Knotfest Meets Forcefest due to a security issue. According to reports, the stage barricade broke during BEHEMOTH's set and it was impossible to fix it in time for either of the two final bands to perform.

Some fans at the festival apparently reacted angrily at the cancelation, storming the stage and destroying equipment, including EVANESCENCE's gear.

EVANESCENCE spent much of the last two years recording and touring in support of 2017's "Synthesis", which contained some of the band's best-loved songs — as well as a couple of new ones — reinvented with full orchestra over a deep electronic landscape.

ANNIHILATOR Releases 'Armed To The Teeth' Music Video

"Armed To The Teeth", the new video from Canadian thrash metal veterans ANNIHILATOR, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Ballistic, Sadistic", due on January 24, 2020 via Silver Lining Music.

Founding guitarist, vocalist, producer and principal songwriter Jeff Waters states about the song: "'Armed To The Teeth' is simply about how one should never judge a book by its cover. If you poke a bear with a stick, abuse or bully someone, or treat a living creature with disrespect, be prepared that it might turn around and retaliate, far beyond what you ever thought possible. The retaliation could be ballistic and sadistic. Whether it's about a music industry jerk bullying an artist or about a kid being bullied on the way home from school, karma will catch up to you and bite you in the face. Someday.

"Although this is a very heavy and aggressive song, we chose to represent the subject by clips of a teen getting bullied; a serious, common, and relevant subject to touch on... and we thought it more appealing than showing this 53-year-old musician taking shit from someone in the music biz! Enjoy the metal."

Cited by bands in the likes of MEGADETH, PANTERA, DREAM THEATER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, LAMB OF GOD, OPETH, TRIVIUM and many, many more as having some influence on their music, Waters and his bandmates have continued to tour the world year after year while consistently putting out high-quality "true metal" music.

Written, performed, engineered and produced by none other than Waters himself, "Ballistic, Sadistic" was recorded at the brand new, state-of-the-art Watersound Studios UK in Durham earlier this year.

Waters says: "Almost every artist initially loves the songs they create. They are like your babies. In my case, it is difficult to be the main writer/producer and stay fresh, come up with new ideas or make old ones better and I am well aware of that. Since 'we' love what we do, we can be blinded to just how good or bad a song or record really is. Time will tell. Press, fans, band members, label, etc., they ALL will tell you what they think and, in their own ways, they are usually right. In this case, I throw that nonsense in the garbage and can tell you that we have made a record that is angry, technical, back to the first three records vibes and it is going to be difficult to continue writing another record after releasing this one. Best record I've made since 2005's 'Schizo Deluxe' and I think many will argue that this new one is in the top three. From the 'Stonewall'-esque track 'Psycho Ward' to the haunting 'I Am Warfare', the pissed-off 'The Attitude' to the aggression and old-school technicality of 'Out With The Garbage', the record is like this: take the 'Alice', 'Neverland' and 'Set The World On Fire' records, make them angry, combine the old-school production with modern high-tech studio gear, then add the best guitar work I didn't know I still had in me, and you've got the best we could possibly offer. I honestly cannot wait for everyone to hear this."

RAGE: Lyric Video For New Song 'Chasing The Twilight Zone'

The official lyric video for the song "Chasing The Twilight Zone" from German metal veterans RAGE can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Wings Of Rage", which will be released on January 10, 2020 through Steamhammer/SPV as CD digipak, 2LP gatefold version, limited box set, shirt bundle (Steamhammer shop) download and stream.

Few metal acts can look back at as comprehensive, multi-faceted and varied a career as RAGE. Founded in spring 1983 in Herne in Germany's Ruhr region, the band led by vocalist/bassist Peavy Wagner has integrated a wide range of stylistic nuances into its musical concept. There have been releases which focused primarily on hard thrash sounds, but also recordings featuring anthemnic power metal as well as albums with a — in the true sense of the word — symphonic orientation. "Wings Of Rage", the latest offering by the three-piece, consists of all this and much more. Peavy and his colleagues Marcos Rodriguez (guitar) and Vassilios Maniatopoulos (drums) have succeeded in summarizing the diversity and experience of almost 37 years of band history in twelve topical songs, starting a new chapter at the same time.

Thanks to the diversity on "Wings Of Rage", Wagner, Rodriguez and Maniatopoulos can be one hundred percent certain that every fan will find something to their very own, personal taste. Friends of earthy thrash tracks with a typical RAGE attitude will get their money's worth mostly on numbers such as the opener "True" with its sinister verse, the lead single "Let Them Rest In Peace", the title track "Wings Of Rage" and the intense "Don't Let Me Down". Aficionados of atmospherically dense power metal anthems will love "Tomorrow" and "Chasing The Twilight Zone", while elements of classic orchestrations, as featured on RAGE's 1998 album classic "XIII", mark the progressive "A Nameless Grave" and the ballad "Shine A Light".

Track listing:

01. True

02. Let Them Rest In Peace

03. Chasing The Twilight Zone

04. Tomorrow

05. Wings Of Rage

06. Shadow Over Deadland (The Twilight Transition)

07. A Nameless Grave

08. Don't Let Me Down

09. Shine A Light

10. HTTS 2.0

11. Blame It On The Truth

12. For Those Who Wish To Die

JOHN 5 AND THE CREATURES Planning To Release 'Live Invasion' Live Album

Guitarist John 5 (ROB ZOMBIE, MARILYN MANSON, DAVID LEE ROTH) recently spoke with Sticks For Stones. The full conversation can be streamed below. A few excerpts follow (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On the upcoming Australian tour by his solo band, JOHN 5 AND THE CREATURES:

John 5: "We are going to record the shows, because I'm working on a live record called 'Live Invasion'. We're going to do all the songs from 'Invasion' and record them, but you're not going to hear just the songs from the latest album — you'll hear a bunch of stuff. We do this really cool, long medley of, like, 60 riffs. It's going to be a very special show, and people are going to be super-excited and really happy with how it turns out. We're going to work really hard on it.

On mixing shred with bluegrass:

John 5: "I'm just such a fan of music in general. I love music. It doesn't have to be metal or rock or country or anything — if something's done really well, I am really into it. That's what I do, and I just love learning, so I try to learn as much as I can — all different styles of music. It just keeps me very, very in tune with music and trying to push myself as much as possible."

On playing with Ozzy Osbourne:

John 5: "It wasn't really an audition. When I was with Randy Castillo, I just helped them. I don't know where Zakk [Wylde] was or what was going on. I just played a little guitar. I've known Ozzy for a long time... I just would go in there and play a little bit and stuff, but it wasn't really an audition. Zakk was always the guitar player."

On Marilyn Manson:

John 5: "I think he's really doing great. We tour together all the time with Zombie/Manson, but he's really singing well, and his songs are great. He's, I think, singing better than he ever has when I was back in the band with him — he's singing just as well today as back then."

On abstaining from drugs and alcohol:

John 5: "I saw a lot of people doing it and just thought, 'Eh, [it's] not really for me.' I want to be able to play music and play it well and not be intoxicated, so I always thought to myself, 'I'm going to go the other way and just not do it,' because it so addicting and I had so many friends and family members that did do it, I just thought, 'I'm just going to choose not to do it,' and that's how I've always been my whole life... It doesn't bother me at all because I never drank before. I never partied before, so it never bothered me. It's just like if there's a certain kind of food that I don't like but everybody [else] likes it, it doesn't bother me. I can find something to eat. I never really had a problem with it at all whatsoever. I just didn't find any upward advantage to it — you spend the money, you don't feel well, you kind of regret the things you did the night before. I don't really see an upside to it whatsoever."

On Rob Zombie's forthcoming album:

John 5: "We have a new record finished, and we're going to do a bunch of touring and all that stuff — everything the same, same, same. We're just going to keep playing and touring and writing and having a great time... It's super-heavy. It's super-hooky and it's got really rad riffs on it, cool everything, great vocals, great melodies. I'm a Rob Zombie fan before I got in the band and a WHITE ZOMBIE band, and if it came out [then], I'd be super, super psyched. I'm really excited for people to hear it."

JOHN 5 AND THE CREATURES — comprised of John 5, bassist Ian Ross and drummer Logan Miles Nix — released "Invasion" in July. Just like "Season Of The Witch", the album — produced and mixed by Barry Pointer — was released via a series of music videos.

Former STYX Frontman DENNIS DEYOUNG To Release '26 East: Volume 1' Album In The Spring

Former STYX frontman Dennis DeYoung will release his new album, "26 East: Volume 1", in the spring via Frontiers Music Srl. The LP will feature the duet "The Good Old Days" with Julian Lennon.

DeYoung has previously announced this will be his last album but has since issued an update.

"This was supposed to be my final album but there were so many songs written that Serafino Perugino, CEO of Frontiers, suggested dividing it into two albums rather than one," DeYoung states. "So be it. This is Volume 1, which sounds pretentious to me, but the marketing folks wanted you to know there are going to be two of them, so hey kids, there are two of them; this is Volume 1."

It all started when Jim Peterik, a fellow Chicagoan and nearby neighbor, sent a song demo to Dennis.

"If not for Jim Peterik's encouragement, talent and prodding I would not have recorded this music," said DeYoung. "He once told me that the world needed my music; to which I replied, 'Have the world text me for verification.' We collaborated from the get-go, happily and seamlessly, and at this time, we have written nine songs together, of which five will be on Volume 1. Just two Chicago guys doing what they do best, making music and having a laugh."

The collaboration with Julian Lennon came about when DeYoung wrote a verse and chorus of a song with Lennon in mind. Lennon heard the demo and said he would be honored to participate. Lennon's vocals were recorded in October at Mission Sound in Brooklyn, New York.

DeYoung shares: "The moment we sang together in the studio, it felt magical. I wrote the song specifically for our two voices. I had never met Julian previously, but I have been an admirer since 'Valotte'."

The album title "26 East" represents the birthplace of STYX. 26 E 101st Place was the address where DeYoung grew up in Roseland, on the south side of Chicago. Across the street at 39 E 101st Place lived the Panozzo twins, Chuck and John, who would go on to form TRADE WINDS in 1962, which a decade later would become the core of STYX. The cover artwork of "26 East" features three locomotives, representing the three original members of STYX leaving the Chicago train yard dreaming of bigger and better things.

In support of the release of "26 East", DeYoung will tour heavily throughout 2020. To kick off the release of the album, DeYoung will appear at the House Of Blues Chicago on April 3, with a live concert and sneak preview of the album. A CD of "26 East" is included with the price of admission. In addition, the album will be played in its entirety on the house PA, followed by a question-and-answer session with DeYoung and Jim Peterik to discuss the new music. It will be followed by the live performance of the music of STYX. Attendees can expect to hear a few songs from the new album, also performed live.

Watch GEOFF TATE Perform Acoustic Version Of QUEENSRŸCHE's 'Eyes Of A Stranger' In Italy

Video footage of original QUEENSRŸCHE singer Geoff Tate performing an acoustic version of the band's classic song "Eyes Of A Stranger" with Kieran Roberston, guitarist of his post-QUEENSRŸCHE group OPERATION: MINDCRIME, and a local guitarist in a small local pub in Perugia, Italy can be seen below. This event was part of the Back Stage Pass Travel Italy tour in December 2019.

Tate recently said that he started the Back Stage Pass Travel "touring company" to take people on the road with him and show them his "world."

"Not only do we take people on sightseeing tours in the area that we're visiting, but we also surround ourselves with music," he explained. "And there's musicians entertaining the guests almost continuously. It's quite a madhouse."

Geoff has spent the last couple of years celebrating the 30th anniversary of QUEENSRŸCHE's "Operation: Mindcrime" album by performing the LP in its entirety on European and U.S. tours.

Tate will perform the QUEENSRŸCHE albums "Rage For Order" and "Empire" in their entirety on the "Empire 30th Anniversary Tour" in 2020.

1986's "Rage For Order" introduced a much more polished look and sound for QUEENSRŸCHE. The album featured keyboards as prominently as guitars, and the group adopted an image more closely associated with glam rock or glam metal than with heavy metal (of which glam metal was a subgenre). A video was filmed for the song "Gonna Get Close to You", originally recorded in 1984 by DALBELLO.

Released in 1990, "Empire" included the hit ballad "Silent Lucidity", which reached No. 9 on the Billboard singles chart, helped propel "Empire" to No. 7 on the album chart and earned two Grammy Award nominations.

THE VERY END Start Recording New Album

With twelve songs and a fresh lineup, The Very End are recording their fourth studio album. Behind the mixing desk is Cornelius Rambadt, with whom the band recorded their debut album.

It is the first studio recording with the current lineup. After two lineup changes, health problems and the separation from the label Steamhammer/SPV, the new album is the first new creation of The Very End after Turn Off The World from 2012.

"We had to fight hard for this album to come out. All the more we're looking forward to finally getting down to it," says René Bogdanski, founder of the band and guitarist. The release date will be announced soon.

The new songs will be recorded in collaboration with Cornelius Rambadt (Rambado Recordings), who already produced the penultimate Sodom and the last Darkness album, as well as the debut album for The Very End. Together with The Very End bassist Marc Beste, Rambadt is also a member of the band Onkel Tom.

There have been two lineup changes since the last album: In 2017 Jerome Reil, son of Kreator drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, became a permanent member of the thrash metal band as the new drummer. Furthermore, The Very End got Exumer guitarist Marc Bräutigam on board this year. Both were involved in the songwriting process.

"On stage, we are already working great with our current line-up. We hope that we can also express our live energy in our recordings," says singer Björn Gooßes.

One thing is for sure already: If The Very End were able to turn off the world with their last album, they can now set it ablaze just as well!

Updates to follow.

KORN Launches 2019 Docuseries

Episode 1 of the KORN 2019 docuseries can be seen below. The video was produced, directed, filmed and edited by Sebastien Paquet, with additional footage by Wombat Fire, Luke Schlink, Melissa Castro and Nick Siemens.

This past September, KORN's latest album, "The Nothing", debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart with 33,000 equivalent album units earned (of which 29,000 were in album sales) in its first week of release. KORN tied VAN HALEN for the fifth-most top 10s on the chart among rock bands; ahead of them: THE ROLLING STONES, with 37, THE BEATLES (32), DAVE MATTHEWS BAND (16) and SANTANA (16). "The Nothing" is KORN's 14th Billboard 200 top 10 album.

"The Nothing" was released on September 13 via Roadrunner/Elektra. The follow-up to 2016's "The Serenity Of Suffering" was once again produced by Nick Raskulinecz.

In addition to first single "You'll Never Find Me", KORN released the "Cold" and "Can You Hear Me" songs prior to "The Nothing"'s arrival.

KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told Dread Central about "The Nothing": "We put a whole year into this record. That's something we hadn't done since 'Untouchables' in 2002. So, we really sat with these songs, lived with them, had time to reflect on them, and then went back and worked on them some more. We didn't rush it through just to put something out in order to get back on tour. I know a lot of bands do that; we've done it in the past too — I'm guilty. But this time we wanted to spend time with our families and take our time to make some great music. So, we spaced things out and really enjoyed being in the moment."

'Raising Hell: Backstage Tales From The Lives Of Metal Legends' Book Due In January

Diversion Books has set a January 21, 2020 release date for "Raising Hell: Backstage Tales From The Lives Of Metal Legends", the new book from Jon Wiederhorn. This 480-page hardcover is an oral history of the badass heavy metal lifestyle ― the debauchery, demolition, and headbanging dedication ― featuring metalhead musicians from BLACK SABBATH and JUDAS PRIEST to TWISTED SISTER and QUIET RIOT to DISTURBED and MEGADETH, and more.

In his song "You Can't Kill Rock And Roll", Ozzy Osbourne sings, "Rock and roll is my religion and my law." This is the mantra of the metal legends who populate "Raising Hell" ― members of SLIPKNOT, SLAYER, LAMB OF GOD, and many more. It's also the guiding principle for underground voices like MISERY INDEX, GORGOROTH, MUNICIPAL WASTE and THROWDOWN.

Through the decades, the metal scene has been populated by colorful individuals who have thwarted convention and lived by their own rules. For many, vice has been virtue, and the opportunity to record albums and tour has been an invitation to push boundaries and blow the lid off a Pandora's box of riotous experiences: thievery, vandalism, hedonism, the occult, stage mishaps, mosh pit atrocities, and general insanity.

To the figures in this book, metal is a means of banding together to stick a big middle finger to a society that had already decided they didn't belong. Whether they were oddballs who didn't fit in or angry kids from troubled backgrounds, metal gave them a sense of identity.

Drawing from 150-plus first-hand interviews with vocalists, guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, and drummers, music journalist Jon Wiederhorn offers this collection of wild shenanigans from metal's heaviest and most iconic acts ― the parties, the tours, the mosh pits, the rage, the joy, the sex, the drugs... the heavy metal life.

SLAYER and EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt writes in his foreword: "While I've got a bunch of totally metal tales, I'm just one fuckin' dude… In 'Raising Hell', Jon Wiederhorn captures the energy, excitement, and lunacy of metal culture, not just from thrash musicians, but also from a wide variety of artists in other genres, including classic metal, melodic metal, death metal, and even those crazy church-burning fucks that play black metal."

Says JUDAS PRIEST's Rob Halford: "Throw back the backstage metal curtain and dig into the pit of larger-than-life rock 'n' roll escapades! 'Raising Hell' does just that with tales from the chaotic, erotic, psychotic mania... revealed here in all its glory!"

States BIOHAZARD's Billy Graziadei: "So you ever wanted to know what goes on behind the scenes, what made us who we are, what inspires us? Maybe you want to hear what we don't tell our significant others, you know, the dark secrets we touring musicians keep from home? Jon Wiederhorn collected so many great stories from all of your favorite rockers, I know my stories but reading about what everyone else went through is mind-blowing! Enjoy our lives!"

CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED's Richard Christy says: "'Raising Hell' is a Bible of heavy metal debauchery! Not only did it bring back tons of crazy, fun touring memories for me, but it also made me laugh my ass off reading about the antics of my fellow metal heads! For anyone who's ever defecated where they shouldn't have, just to make their friends laugh, this book is for you! Hell, this book is for everyone! It rules!"

ANTHRAX's Scott Ian states: "With 'Raising Hell', Jon Wiederhorn opens a treasure chest of outrageous, unflinching metal anecdotes that range from hysterical to terrifying to just plain disgusting. Each chapter is a new level of insanity!"

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's Ben Weinman says: "'Raising Hell' is, without a doubt, the most in-depth look into the lives of professional metal heads. Unlike a rock biography, this oral history gives you an accurate understanding of what actually happens behind the curtain. No other writer has covered this genre more than Jon, and this book is a gift to all who have devoted their soul to the gods of metal."

Wiederhorn is the author of "Louder Than Hell: The Definitive Oral History Of Metal" (with Katherine Turman) and the co-author of "My Riot: Agnostic Front, Grit, Guts & Glory" (with Roger Miret), "Ministry: The Lost Gospels According To Al Jourgensen" (with Al Jourgensen) and "I'm The Man: The Story Of That Guy From Anthrax" (with Scott Ian). He has written for Rolling Stone, SPIN, MTV, Guitar World and Revolver, among others. He lives in Montclair, New Jersey.

THE DOORS: 'Break On Thru - A Celebration Of Ray Manzarek' Coming To Cinemas Worldwide In February

THE DOORS and Trafalgar Releasing have announced the upcoming release of "The Doors: Break on Thru - A Celebration of Ray Manzarek", coming to cinemas worldwide for a one-night only event on February 12, 2020. The film will bring fans together in theaters to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of the late Ray Manzarek, co-founder and keyboardist of THE DOORS, on what would have been his birthday.

This critically acclaimed, all-star hybrid concert/documentary was filmed at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, California and brought surviving members from THE DOORS, Robby Krieger and John Densmore, on stage for the first time in 15 years to celebrate the birthday of Manzarek alongside captivating performances from FOO FIGHTERS' Taylor Hawkins and Rami Jaffee, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' Robert DeLeo, PAUL MCCARTNEY's Brian Ray, X's Exene and John Doe, JANE'S ADDICTION's Stephen Perkins, GOV'T MULE's Warren Haynes and more.

With a set list of DOORS classics and compelling behind the scenes interviews and footage, this film celebrates the longevity of THE DOORS, bringing multiple generations together to celebrate this iconic band. Proceeds from the L.A. concert were donated to Stand Up To Cancer as selected by Ray Manzarek.

Participating theaters and tickets can be found at www.TheDoorsFilm.com.

John Densmore, drummer of THE DOORS, shared: "It was such an honor to play with these world-class musicians in a tribute to our magical keyboard player."

Kymberli Frueh, SVP programming and content acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing, has said on the news: "'Break On Thru' is a true celebration of DOORS co-founder Ray Manzarek and includes a whole host of musicians inspired by him, including Taylor Hawkins of the FOO FIGHTERS and Robert DeLeo from STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. Trafalgar Releasing are pleased to present the first-ever global fan cinema gathering sanctioned by THE DOORS to celebrate Manzarek's incredible legacy."

With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison's poetry and presence, THE DOORS had a transformative impact not only on popular music but also on popular culture.

THE DOORS' arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become stone classics, but also of something much bigger — a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they've had scores of imitators, there's never been another band quite like them. And 50 years after their debut album, THE DOORS' music and legacy are more influential than ever before.

THE DOORS were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1993.

OZZY OSBOURNE Returns To No. 1 On Rock Radio Chart With 'Under The Graveyard'

Ozzy Osbourne has the No. 1 rock song in the country this week as his single "Under The Graveyard" captures the top position on the U.S. Rock Radio chart. This marks his third No. 1 on this chart and his first in 10 years; "Under The Graveyard" is his first new solo music in as many years. It also heralds Ozzy's forthcoming album, "Ordinary Man", due out on Epic Records in early 2020.

Additionally, "Under The Graveyard" has eclipsed 5.4 million streams worldwide and received acclaim from Rolling Stone, NPR, and more. A cinematic music video will be unveiled soon.

Last month, Ozzy unleashed "Straight To Hell", the album's second single, featuring GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash. Ozzy also joined Post Malone to perform their record-breaking collaboration "Take What You Want" in front of a sold-out audience at the Forum in Los Angeles (Nove, ber 21) and to a national audience on ABC's American Music Awards (November 24).

"Ordinary Man" was recorded in Los Angeles and features producer Andrew Watt on guitars, Duff McKagan (GUNS N' ROSES) on bass and Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) on drums.

"This album was a gift from my higher power — it is proof to me that you should never give up," Ozzy said. "It all started when Kelly [Osbourne] comes in and says, 'Do you want to work on a Post Malone song?' My first thing was, 'Who the fuck is Post Malone?!' I went to Andrew's [Watt] house and he said we will work really quick. After we finished that song, he said, 'Would you be interested in starting an album?' I said 'that would be fucking great, but now I am thinking I don't want to be working in a basement studio for six months! And in just a short time, we had the album done. Duff and Chad came in and we would go in and jam during the day and I would go work out the songs in the evenings. I previously had said to Sharon I should be doing an album, but in the back of my mind I was going 'I haven't got the fucking strength...' but Andrew pulled it out of me. I really hope people listen to it and enjoy it, because I put my heart and soul into this album."

Ozzy has not released an all-new solo effort since 2010's "Scream", having spent the last few years touring with BLACK SABBATH in support of that band's "13" LP, as well as playing a number of solo shows. More recently, Osbourne has been recuperating at home after sustaining a bad neck injury resulting in the postponement of his solo tour.

This past October, Ozzy once again postponed his European tour, marking the second time the BLACK SABBATH singer has done so following a series of health issues.

Ozzy initially scrapped his entire 2019 schedule earlier this year, as he recovered from surgery to repair an injury sustained while dealing with his recent bout of pneumonia. The European leg of his "No More Tours 2" trek was then rescheduled for January through March 2020, with the North American dates set to follow in May 2020.

VEGA Release New Version Of First-Ever Single; "Kiss Of Life" (2019) Streaming

UK melodic rockers, Vega, are streaming a new version of their first single, "Kiss Of Life".

Says the band: ""Forget about politics for 5 minutes and 12 seconds (or 10 mins and 24 seconds if you listen twice and so on). While recording the new album we decided that we wanted to celebrate 10 years of Vega. What better way than to release a brand spanking new version of our first single. We hope you guys and girls enjoy the song. The cover is also the original concept art for the album that we loved but ultimately got rejected. BIG thanks to Richard Mace for digging that out for us.

"Available on all platforms. Please listen, enjoy and share.

"Merry Christmas to you all and get ready for a new Vega album in 2020."

GOD DETHRONED To Release Illuminati Album In February; Music Video For Title Track Streaming

God Dethroned will release their new album, Illuminati, on February 7 via Metal Blade Records. You can pre-order the album in a number of formats here, and watch a video for the title track, below.

The immutable power of the Netherlands' greatest blackened death metal band, God Dethroned, rings true on new album, Illuminati - their most varied material to date. With a cover by Polish master Michał 'Xaay' Loranc (Nile, Evocation), Illuminati is conversant in the tenets of death metal - experimental where it needs to be, and indomitable in spirit. It's the kind of album that will bestow the Dutch heroes with accolades and push them across Europe (first with Obscura - see dates below) and then the rest of the globe (planning for North and South America is under way) throughout 2020.

God Dethroned's Henri Sattler checked in with the following comment about Illuminati: "Freemasons, occultists and conspiracy theory enthusiasts pay attention! God Dethroned is back to smack you in the face with our new album called 'Illuminati'. After finishing the World War One trilogy, it was about time to go back to dark side with songs about religion, freemasonry and the occult. Song titles like 'Spirit of Beelzebub', 'Broken Halo', 'Book of Lies' and 'Satan Spawn' leave very little to the imagination as to what to expect from us from a lyrical point of view.

But those of you who expected us to go back into a raging frenzy of endless blastbeats and buzzsaw blade guitar sounds better beware. 'Illuminati' is our most varied album to date with a heavy, yet in-your-face type of production. We managed to make our sound bigger and more orchestral than ever before with the use of both atmospheric keyboard parts and many additional vocal parts such as choirs and grunt-on-tone type of vocals. There is a lot to be discovered in the songs of this album because of the many details hidden in the music that will only reveal itself after many listens, and at the same time the tunes on 'Illuminati' are catchier than ever before.

Lovers of Rhandy Roads-meets-Marty Friedman type of melodic guitar solos should definitely give Dave Meester's spectacular leads a listen. Dave was welcomed to the band's line-up during the European tour with Belphegor and Suffocation and stayed within our ranks ever since. Former guitar player Mike Ferguson however contributed greatly to 'Illuminati' by writing several stunning songs and riffs as well as recording half of all the rhythm tracks on the album. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours."

TARJA Releases Single Version Of "You And I"; Lyric Video Streaming

Today, almost four months after the release of her highly acclaimed studio album, In The Raw, Tarja is releasing a single version of her song, “You And I”, accompanied by an emotional lyric video.

With this song, the "Queen Of Metal" shows her vulnerable, thoughtful but yet so strong and powerful side. “You And I” is a song full of soft and warm tones combined with Tarja’s ever so powerful voice, creating a metal ballad of its own kind.

Get the single here, and watch the lyric video below:

The album finds Tarja going to raw, personal places in her lyrics. Opening herself up more than ever before, she says she was left feeling naked by her honesty, but also pleased at where she had gone with her words.

“Gold, we think, is something polished and perfect, sophisticated, a luxury - but in its natural state it’s a raw element”, explains Tarja. Just like the music on her latest album: a combination of sophisticated and refined orchestration, choir and her classically trained voice with a raw, dark heavy musical core. Simply put, In The Raw is a gold-plated work of wonder.

ROB HALFORD Says JUDAS PRIEST Will 'Go Into Writing Sessions' For New Album In Early 2020

Rob Halford has confirmed to Mike Hsu of Boston's WAAF radio station that JUDAS PRIEST is preparing to begin work on the follow-up to last year's "Firepower" album. Speaking about his plans for the upcoming year, Rob said (hear audio below): "I'll be heading back to the U.K. for the holidays, see my family and friends. And then we're gonna start… There are two things happening. We're gonna go into writing sessions in the early New Year, because we're still buzzing from the 'Firepower' record and we're raring to go, to see what else what we can come up with musically, through writing. So we've got that in planning. And then we go into the big production for the 50th anniversary [of JUDAS PRIEST], which, I believe, kicks off in Finland in June, I think it is. And then that's it there. We're off around the world for the rest of 2020 and some of 2021, celebrating 50 years of JUDAS PRIEST."

This past October, Halford told Consequence Of Sound that JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Glenn Tipton has spent the last few months compiling ideas for the band's next record.

"Glenn is always noodling away, even though he doesn't tour that much now," the singer said. "He's always noodling away in the studio in the U.K. He's always putting riffs down. We have vaults of so many rifts. It's just incredible. So it all starts with the riff, mostly, in what we do. We start with the riff and a melody, some hooks and we build it, as most bands do. 'Firepower' is going to be quite difficult to top, but we'll do everything we can to cut another great record and that'll happen at some point."

Tipton announced his retirement from touring in February 2018 after revealing his unfortunate diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. He passed on the torch to the producer of the "Firepower" album, Andy Sneap.

Tipton was diagnosed with the degenerative neurological disorder almost six years ago, after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier. The guitarist, who is now 72 and has performed on every PRIEST record since the band's 1974 debut set, "Rocka Rolla", is not quitting the band, but simply cannot handle the rigorous challenges of performing live.

Glenn has appeared onstage with PRIEST many times following his retirement, always performing the same fan-favorite tracks "Metal Gods", "Breaking The Law" and "Livin' After Midnight".

PRIEST's current touring lineup consists of Halford, bassist Ian Hill, guitarists Sneap and Richie Faulkner, and drummer Scott Travis.

In October, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.

Current members Halford, Hill, Tipton and Travis would be inducted along with founding guitarist K.K. Downing, former drummer Les Binks and late drummer Dave Holland.

The Music For LAST IN LINE's Third Album Is 'Pretty Much Written'

Prior to LAST IN LINE's performance at Planet Rockstock in South Wales, United Kingdom on Saturday night (December 7), guitarist Vivian Campbell and vocalist Andrew Freeman spoke to Planet Rock's Paul Anthony about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the follow-up to 2019's "II" album.

"We've got another record we're working on for next year, [which] we've already pretty much got written," Andrew said (see video below). "[We've] just gotta put lyrics to the songs, and we'll go from there. And our last album is still pretty new — it's not even a year old yet — so we're already thinking about moving forward and not taking… because of all the things that interfere, that take us away from this [band], we kind of wanna get this going now. So that if it takes a year to get out, at least we'll have most of it written by next year."

Vivian added: "Which is what we're kind of hoping for. We have, as Andy said, we've got a lot of the music written — in fact, most of it, or all of it. And Andrew's just got to do the hard work of melodies and lyrics and stuff."

Vivian, who will spend much of 2020 touring with DEF LEPPARD, including a U.S. stadium run with MÖTLEY CRÜE, also once again confirmed that LAST IN LINE is without a label home, having fulfilled its contractual obligations to Frontiers Music Srl, which released 2016's "Heavy Crown" and the aforementioned "II".

Elaborating on the songwriting process for LAST IN LINE's third album, the guitarist said: "We were in [Las] Vegas with DEF LEPPARD — we had a residency over the summer — and Andrew lives in Vegas, so Vinny [Appice, drums] and Phil [Soussan, bass] flew out, and we had four days, I think, where we just wrote and came up with ideas.

"Anyway, long story short, we wanna get started on the record by February in L.A. We don't have a label deal at the moment — we're between labels — so we're excited about the prospect of going to a new label and hopefully, you know, actually getting our music out a bit more globally. But we wanna get a head start on the record — we don't wanna wait till all that's in place — 'cause if we don't start it by February, we've got no chance of getting it out next year, and it would be great if we got it out, say, about this time next year."

Andrew said that there is no shortage of ideas in LAST IN LINE, which usually means that the music comes together quickly. "Everybody's a writer," he said. "And it's nice that we got together for four days and we were able to put together 12, 13 songs for a new record — in four days. So, when you have that kind of an energy going on where you have four guys that just wanna create, create, create, it's hard for you to rest on your laurels," referring to the fact that Campbell and Appice are both original members of DIO. "I mean, you will — and they're not my laurels to rest on — but I'm very privileged to be able to have these big songs to just pull out. Like, if one of our songs doesn't go over, it's, like, 'Oh, let's just pull some old DIO song out to win the crowd back.' So, we have that at our disposal. It's just nice to be able to write songs and also write songs that people seem to be interested in now. They're kind of standing up — it seems to be that they're standing up with the older tunes. And that's helpful — it's really helpful — because we get a lot out of it. And it's a really unique show. We're doing all these classics, and then you see them singing 'Rainbow In The Dark', and then they all also start singing 'Landslide' — all the words to 'Landslide'. So, it's nice. And I think it's a pretty unique situation."

Campbell also talked about the importance of staying creative in a climate where music streaming is continuing to cannibalize record sales and leave them at historic lows.

"You've gotta be a creative musician; otherwise, there's only one direction you're gonna go," he explained. "It's gonna be a slow descent, regardless. So, you've gotta exercise the creative muscle. And I know that's true of DEF LEPPARD. We make LEPPARD records knowing that there's no way in hell any of them are gonna sell anything close to 'Pyromania' or 'Hysteria' or even 'High 'N' Dry'. And Joe [Elliott, DEF LEPPARD singer] has said this before, and rightfully so, first and foremost, we make records for ourselves in DEF LEPPARD. And in LAST IN LINE, we make records because we have that energy, and, as Andrew said, we have that drive, and we wanna keep making new music. And it's really encouraging to get the feedback that people have towards our own music and that it sits so comfortably, side by side, with the DIO classics."

LAST IN LINE was formed in 2012, when Campbell, Appice and bassist Jimmy Bain — Ronnie James Dio's co-conspirators and co-writers on the "Holy Diver", "Last In Line" and "Sacred Heart" albums — teamed up with Freeman. "Heavy Crown" was released in February 2016, landing at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Initially, the release had been preceded by tragedy when Bain unexpectedly passed away at the age of 68 on January 23, 2016. LAST IN LINE, honoring what they knew would be Bain's wish to keep the band moving, brought in Soussan and committed to sustained touring in support of the album, hitting festivals, headlining clubs, and sharing the stage with metal luminaries such as SAXON and MEGADETH.

It's Official: Original BULLETBOYS Lineup Reunites For More Than 50 Shows, New Music

It's official: the original platinum-selling BULLETBOYS lineup, featuring Marq Torien, Mick Sweda, Lonnie Vencent and Jimmy D'Anda, is returning in 2020!

The hard rockers will kick off the reunion with a hometown gig on December 30 at their old haunt, the Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood. Aside from one show in 2011, this original lineup has not performed together since 1993.

"I would never have guessed this reunion would have come about, but the world seems to have its own plan filled with peace, love and kindness," says guitarist Mick Sweda. "And lots of ass kicking!"

Add vocalist Marq Torien: "I am completely ecstatic about this rad magical new beginning for us. It's on!"

BULLETBOYS formed in 1988 at the very peak of the Los Angeles glam metal movement. As a collection of talented musicians, BULLETBOYS were able to quickly capture the attention of music fans around the world. Unlike other rockers of the day, the BULLETBOYS possessed more hard rock-blues fusion than pure hair metal. Thanks to comparisons to the likes of AEROSMITH and VAN HALEN, talent scouts came running and the band quickly received their first major label contract.

BULLETBOYS' self-titled debut was released in 1988 via Warner Bros. and peaked at number 34 on the Billboard 200. The album spawned two hit singles, a cover of the O'JAYS classic "For The Love Of Money" and "Smooth Up in Ya", both of which charted on the Mainstream Rock chart and saw regular airplay on MTV. BULLETBOYS went on to release two more albums, 1991's "Freakshow" and 1993's "Za-Za", before splitting up.

The reunited BULLETBOYS is booked by noted agency ARM Entertainment. More than 50 shows are currently in the works in the U.S. and around the world. BULLETBOYS also promises to deliver new music in the coming year.

"All's well and ends well," bassist Lonnie Vencent says. "BULLETBOYS 2020! Pigs are flying!"

Says drummer Jimmy D'Anda: "Does anybody remember laughter!?"

BULLETBOYS tour dates:

Dec. 30 - West Hollywood, CA @ Whisky a Go Go

Apr. 19 - West Hollywood @ Rainbow Anniversary Party

Jul. 25 - Beaver Dam, KY @ Rock The Dam Fest
