DEVOID Announce Comeback, Release New Single "Drop Dead, Gorgeous" (Audio)

Formed in 2005, Devoid has been one of the forerunners of Indian metal. The band, who announced their comeback earlier this month, just dropped their new single, "Drop Dead, Gorgeous".

The band makes its comeback after four years apart, now reuniting as a three piece band comprising of Arun Iyer, Shubham Kumar and Abhishek Kamdar. Sonically, the track is Devoid heaviest release yet, signalling the band moving from its former death thrash roots to a more aggressive death metal sound. What the band does hold on to from it’s previous avatar are its sharp commentary through its lyrics. "Drop Dead, Gorgeous" holds a mirror up to modern society’s obsession over social media representation of reality. The band has also partnered with Visual Amnesia to translate the song into the track’s key art.

“As someone who grew up in the social media age, we saw the genesis, the rampant percolation, being connected at all time on another level without ever feeling this connection, and now the entire meaning of the human experience viewed as stories. We had collectively felt the need to talk about this... change,” said Arun Iyer, the band’s frontman talking about the idea behind the track.

The track, currently available at Bandcamp, will be released across all major streaming services in the next few weeks. Fans will also get to see them debut the track live at NH7 Weekender this week, their first gig after the band’s reunion.

Get the track at Bandcamp. Listen below:

LORDI Share Music Video For "I Dug A Hole In The Yard For You"

Lordi will release their tenth album, Killection, on January 31 via AFM Records. A video for the song, "I Dug A Hole In The Yard For You", can be found below.

Officially, Lordi were founded in 1992 by lead singer, songwriter, visual art designer and costume designer Mr. Lordi. The band has deep Finnish roots, originating from the city of Rovaniemi, in Lapland. In 2006 they celebrated their international breakthrough by winning the Eurovision Song Contest (“Hard Rock Hallelujah”). But is it possible that this is only a pale misperception of our poor, small, pathetic reality?

What if Lordi would have already been making music since the early 70's? And what if they have been releasing one hit single after the other since those times and now, almost 50 years later, are looking back on a full collection of songs that have been successful ever since? This is exactly the idea that Lordi are executing, with their newest studio album, Killection.

Killection will be released on January 31 via AFM Records. Once more Mr. Lordi, the master of the masquerade, presents us with one of his ideas, absurd and genius at the same time, and comes up with a concept that has never been done before in the music industry: Killection is a compilation album that simply says “what if” Lordi had been in existence since the early 70's. It contains all their imaginary hit singles from different periods done with painstaking attention to detail using authentic studios and vintage technology. This is how they would have sounded if Lordi would have made music back then and therefore would have had the hit material to release this compilation now.

This is how Mr. Lordi himself sums it up: "Killection is a fictional compilation album. It contains songs that Lordi would have written between the early 70's through the mid-90's. The compilation contains one "brand new" song from 2019 as well, cause that’s somehow always typical for compilations."

Killection tracklisting:

"Radio SCG 10"
"Horror For Hire"
"Shake The Baby Silent"
"Like A Bee To The Honey"
"Apollyon"
"SCG10 The Last Hour"
"Blow My Fuse"
"I Dug A Hole In The Yard For You"
"Zombimbo"
"Up To No Good"
"SCG10 Demonic Semitones"
"Cutterfly"
"Evil"
"Scream Demon"
"SCG10 I Am Here"

Denmark's BERSÆRK Release "Balders bål" Music Video

Danish pagan heavy rockers, Bersærk, recently released the first single ‘Balders bål’ (‘The Bonfire of Balder’ in Danish) from their forthcoming third album, set for a spring 2020 release. Today, the band premieres a brand new music video for the single.

The clip is a extensive independent production, where the band alongside director Thomas J. Mikkelsen (Carpark North, UFO Yepha a.o.) has created a wildly ambitious and grandiose video production.

Bersærk states on the video, the single and the forthcoming album: “To us, ‘Balders bål’ is a representation of some of the elements, we’re working with on the forthcoming album: Darkness, heaviness and greatness as well as beauty, dynamics and melancholy. The video is shot at the beautiful nature of Mols Bjerge, which in many ways contains all these hybrids, while it also here we are recording the new album. The idea for the video was developed in cooperation with director Thomas J. Mikkelsen, and we quickly realized, that we didn’t wanted to do a direct interpretation of the song’s lyrics, but still embrace the aforementioned hybrids. From that, the idea arose of the female character who visits us from the underworld and who like Hel from the Nordic mythology is both beautiful and terrifying.“

The main character in the video is brought to life by professional dancer Sarah Holm Hermansen, who impresses with her ecstatic, almost possesed dancing.

Director Thomas J. Mikkelsen adds: “The inspiration for the video is based on the band’s own idea, which I then worked on and shaped into something, that could be visually strong and create a feeling to submerge in, while one watches the video. We want to show how the raw sound and the nordic nature shares an epic force, but also contrasts. It is supposed to convey a feeling of “something larger than ourselves”. Sarah Holm’s style of dancing, which both contains the most delicate elegance and explosive ferocity supports exactly the contrast, which sound and vision creates together. This duality refers to the Nordic mythology, which is such a big part of Bersærk’s universe.”

PINK FLOYD Release 2019 Remix Video For "Sorrow", Live From Delicate Sound Of Thunder

Pink Floyd - The Later Years, a 16-disc set (5xCDs, 6xBlu-Rays, 5xDVDs) covering the material created by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright from 1987 onwards, will be released on December 13, with a 12-track Highlights package (2LP or 1CD) available on November 29.

In support of the upcoming release, Pink Floyd have released the video below, featuring the 2019 remix of "Sorrow", live from Delicate Sound Of Thunder.

The period covered on The Later Years generated record sales of over 40 million worldwide and included three studio albums: A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, The Division Bell and The Endless River as well as two live albums: Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse. With additional production from David Gilmour and Andy Jackson, over 13 hours of unreleased audio and audiovisual material, including the sought-after 1989 Venice and 1990 Knebworth concerts, Pink Floyd The Later Years is a must for all fans.

A multi-media, deluxe box set, Pink Floyd The Later Years presents an expanded view of the Pink Floyd story from 1987 to the present and kicks off with A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, the album that confirmed Pink Floyd as one of the world’s biggest artists.

The album, presented for the first time in 5.1, has been remixed and updated by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson. The release of The Later Years project gives an opportunity for a fresh overview of the A Momentary Lapse Of Reason album. By returning to some of Richard Wright’s keyboard parts and recording new drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin have restored the creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members.

Throughout 1987 and 1988 the band’s live shows became the largest-grossing concert tour ever to that date and produced the critically acclaimed, Grammy Award nominated, Delicate Sound Of Thunder. Filmed at the Nassau Coliseum in New York State, the concert shows the band on the top of their form. The concert has been fully re-edited and upgraded from the original 35mm film negatives by Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell and Benny Trickett and the sound remixed to 5.1. It also includes "Terminal Frost" and "Welcome To The Machine", two tracks that were not included on the original concert film release. For the first time the concert is available in 5.1 on Blu-ray and DVD.

Two of the most sought-after additions to Pink Floyd The Later Years are the 1989 Venice Concert, performed on a floating stage in front of St Mark’s Square, and the 1990 Silver Clef Winners performance at Knebworth. Both concerts, previously unreleased, are now available on both DVD and Blu-ray (145mins). The momentous Knebworth concert saw Pink Floyd topping the all-star bill (that included Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, Genesis, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Tears For Fears), in aid of the Nordoff Robbins charity, profits from which went towards setting up the BRIT School. David Gilmour and Andy Jackson have remixed the audio from this iconic concert and all seven tracks performed on the day (with guest musicians including sax player Candy Dulfer, the original The Great Gig In The Sky vocalist Clare Torry, keyboard player Michael Kamen and Sam Brown with her mother, Vicki, on vocals), are released here as well as for the first time ever on CD.

1994’s album The Division Bell sold over 12 million copies, having debuted at No 1 in the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. It stayed at the top of the US charts for 4 weeks, and also went to No 1 in six other countries. The resulting tour was captured and recorded for the concert release Pulse. This release contains the entire Pulse live concert film, re-edited and upgraded from the original masters, from the groundbreaking Earl’s Court gigs, and available for the first time on Blu-ray. Also uncovered for the first time is footage of the band in rehearsals on October 20, 1994 performing "A Great Day For Freedom" and "Lost For Words".

In 2014, Pink Floyd released The Endless River, comprising mostly instrumental and ambient music based on material recorded during The Division Bell sessions. Featuring David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, additional material was recorded in 2013 and 2014, with one song, "Louder Than Words", with lyrics by author & novelist Polly Samson (the primary lyricist for The Division Bell album). The Endless River became the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon UK and debuted at number one in several countries. The vinyl edition was the fastest-selling UK vinyl release since 1997. Included here for the first time is the never previously seen specially commissioned full 52-minute The Endless River film by Ian Emes, famed for his work with Pink Floyd, including his animations for "One Of These Days", "Speak To Me", "Time" and "On The Run".

Rounding off the package are hours of unreleased bonus materials including music videos, documentary footage, bonus live tracks, upgraded tour screen films and documentaries. It includes the first ever release, on Blu-ray, DVD and 7” vinyl, of the last live performance of Pink Floyd with David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright together in 2007. This special performance of Arnold Layne took place at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert at The Barbican on 10 May 2007. The full set boasts previously unreleased or remixed audio, plus restored, remastered and re-edited audio-visuals including unreleased concert footage and promo clips.

With the help of Nick Mason and the Pink Floyd archive, the box set comes with reproductions of tour artwork, posters, programmes, tour laminates, lyric book and much more including two 7” vinyl singles, (the live version of "Arnold Layne" performed at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert in 2007 and "Lost For Words" from the Pulse tour rehearsals at Earl’s Court), in new picture sleeves and etched image B-sides. Also included is a brand new 60-page hardback book of photos, designed by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis and Peter Curzon of StormStudios, including many previously unseen images.

The 5 CDs are encased in their own 40-page hardback book with an extensive guide to all content, tracklists and credits.

There is also be a 2-LP / 1-CD ‘Highlights’ package. It comes in a gatefold sleeve (for both 1-CD and 2-LP), and each contain a 24-page booklet containing previously unseen and rare photos.

THY DISEASE To Release Transhumanism Album In December; "Aluminium Cities" Music Video Streaming

Creative Music Records will release Transhumanism, the seventh album from Poland's Thy Disease, on December 19. A video for the song "Aluminium Cities", made in collaboration with Grupa 13 (Behemoth, Kreator, etc.) can be seen below.

Physical editions of the album can pre-ordered here. Get the digital edition here.

The seventh album in the band's discography surely determines their musical direction. All brand new tunes contain deep, heavy, modern grooves with mind-twisting electronic samples. Heavy guitars mixed with walls of samples take the listener to the dark and gloomy future.

New LP concentrates on issues related to new technologies, humanity development, biotech upgrades, and other novelties future may bring. All of them are encompassed from moral and philosophical angle filled with questions and doubts.

With a renewed lineup, Thy Disease continues to spread their cold and dehumanized visions of upcoming times and this album is a clear evidence of it.

Tracklisting:

"Inhuman Form"
"Drone Soul"
"Aluminium Cities"
"Bloody Treatment"
"Deliverance"
"There's No You"
"Infrasonic Noises"
"Convergence"
"Digitized Mind"
"Extinction By Contract" (bonus track)

Cattle Decapitation have never shied away from confronting the awfulness wrought upon the natural world by the human race, and Death Atlas is their bleakest offering to date. The cover art says it all: a stooped, skeletal Grim Reaper carrying the burnt-out husk of our planet on his back.

"The core concept of this record is humanity's insignificance despite what we've convinced ourselves," explains vocalist Travis Ryan. "That's kind of why this album cover takes place in space, to remind you that 'the universe always finds a way to purge'. In the grand scheme of things, our species is merely a fleeting thought."

This imagery is backed up with a ferocious soundtrack, which includes elements of death metal, grindcore, black metal, sludge, doom, drone - with Ryan's vocals broader and more fully realized than ever before.

Produced once again by Dave Otero (flatlineaudio.com), Death Atlas also features a number of guests: Laure Le Prunenec (Igorrr, Ricinn), Riccardo Conforti (Void of Silence), Dis Pater (Midnight Odyssey), Jon Fishman (Phish) - plus, brass instrumentalists from Ottone Pesante. The end result of these experimentations and collaborations is one of the most devastating records of 2019, and it demands an emotional response.

As the band prepares to tour and hopefully reach places they have yet play, what Ryan wants listeners to take away from Death Atlas is clear: "I want people to be shocked into thinking more about their futures, their loved ones, the pain they're potentially subjecting their future generations to. Everyone just seems to live in the now with no care for tomorrow, and that's incorrect thinking, as far as today goes. Don't make tomorrow a cancelled check."

Death Atlas tracklisting:

"Anthropogenic: End Transmission"
"The Geocide"
"Be Still Our Bleeding Hearts"
"Vulturous"
"The Great Dying"

VENOM Icon MANTAS To CRONOS - “You Better Shut Your Fucking Mouth Motherfucker, Because Don’t Forget You Were The Last Person To Join This Band, At MY Invitation”

Last April 2018, we almost lost an icon that helped shape the extreme metal scene in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, turning that cross upside-down so to speak and creating musical mayhem unlike ever before. Original Venom guitarist and current Venom Inc. guitarist Jeff (Mantas) Dunn was dead for five minutes after two valves in his heart were blocked. He underwent double bypass surgery in Lisbon, Portugal and he’s still recovering every day. And the ailment is not just physical. In an excerpt from our forthcoming major feature, Mantas is an entirely different person these days. The heart attack deeply affected his personality.

“Apart from the people that I totally and utterly care about, I’m so emotionally detached,” the guitarist says bluntly. “I’m not a welcoming person anymore. I’ve always been the shyest person in the band, the quietest one, I know that for a fact. I’m an introvert at the end of the day, that’s what I am. I’ve always found it difficult to meet people, but now even when people want a photograph I’m very reluctant.”

BraveWords: Well, it’s strange because you are just such an elite. You’ve had so much influence on so many people, so that’s what you attract.

Mantas: "And that’s what I can’t handle now.”

BraveWords: Everyone up to Metallica, it’s all about Venom.

Mantas: "I still realize that, and I’m justifiably proud of that. I think to myself, yeah, no matter how dysfunctional Venom was as a family, in any of its configurations, and I mean in every configuration of Venom we had conflict, but you cannot deny the influence that the band had. Now, Welcome To Hell and Black Metal are the two albums that are cited as the big influence, and 80-90% of both those albums are me, which is music and lyrics. And I want to again put the records straight, you know where fucking Cronos is coming out and introducing, “oh well Mantas didn’t have that much influence on the band.” You better shut your fucking mouth motherfucker, because don’t forget you were the last person to join this band, at MY invitation, and a lot of those fucking songs were written before you even set foot in that church hall. And the first thing Abbadon said when you walked in the back of the church hall was ‘whoa, who’s she?’ And now they’ve put out a boxed set (In Nomine Satanas) with the church hall records with Clive Archer singing those songs. Clive Archer in 1979 singing ‘Buried Alive’ and ‘Raise The Dead’? So who wrote those before he fucking joined the band?”

BraveWords: So you had no part in building that?

Mantas: "Yeah, I did. They contacted me about the church hall tape, and I emailed straight back and I said you do realize that that church hall tape is mine. It’s not Cronos’ tape. I recorded that rehearsal on my father’s cassette recorder. I still have a photograph of the cassette recorder and I still have the original tape in my possession. And I sent them a photograph of that cassette tape and a photograph of Clive Archer and I on stage at that very church hall for the book. No, it’s not his tape, I recorded that. So yeah, it looks all pretty and I haven’t got a copy of it yet.”

BraveWords: It cost a fortune but it’s worth it, for me as a fan. Is it worth it?

Mantas: "I don’t know…”

BraveWords: If Cronos walked in that door right now what would you say to him?

Mantas: “What would I say to him? He’d be on his fucking ass before he knew it. I’ve got no loyalty or affinity to either of those guys whatsoever. There’s a lot of people who are still loyal to the both of them, but if they knew the truth - which they will when the book comes out. I’ve written the beginning and the end of this book, and right at the end I actually say there you go, there you have it. Choose to believe what you want, but what I’ve put on these pages is the absolute fucking truth. Some of it’s hilarious. You know, some of it’s so Spinal Tap, it’s beyond Spinal Tap. But some of it you’ll read and go “What the hell? Has this part been checked over?” But it’s all true. It’s everything that fucking happened.”

Watch for the entire interview with Mantas in the coming days as he talks about the tell-all book he’s writing, the follow-up to Avé, giving the finger to the church and more juicy blasphemies!

KARL SANDERS Recalls NILE's Worst Touring Experience

NILE guitarist Karl Sanders recently spoke with Aldo Guzman of Capital Chaos TV. The full conversation can be seen below. A few excerpts follow (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On the group's ongoing tour with TERRORIZER:

Karl: "So far, so good. It's going really well. The new songs seem to be going over particularly well. We've been playing three tracks from the new album — 'Long Shadows Of Dread', 'Vile Nilotic Rites' and 'Snakepit Mating Frenzy'. They seemed like the most conducive for the live setting, especially for people who might not be familiar with the record yet."

On the band's new album, "Vile Nilotic Rites":

Karl: "I think this record is all about exploring what this new lineup is capable of. What is our potential right now? What can we do right now? Not what we did 20 years ago or 10 years ago — what can this group of guys do? I think the record's very reflective of that... On one hand, we are doing exactly what we love to do, so we're still true to ourselves. I think this new one, the approach to the songwriting is a little different. We've got a couple new guys, so there's a fresh attitude, a fresh energy. But it's not wholly dissimilar from what we've been doing for the last 20 years. If you're expecting it to be radically different in thematic content, it's still what NILE does — just maybe a fresh spin on it. Fans have a reasonable expectation if you've established your sound that when they go to listen to something new, they should still be able to relate to it. If you go too far astray, left or right, then you're playing with fire."

On the album's vocals:

Karl: "When we're working on the songs, we just kind of carve it up between us. One guy will go, 'I think I can do that.' Someone else will say, 'I can do this thing over here,' or 'Maybe we should do this together.' We just work it out."

On the group's increasingly technical sound:

Karl: "[I took] a lot of guitar lessons the last couple years. A lot of just playing guitar, every day, all day. The truth is, every time you turn around, there's somebody better. Every single town you go to, there are great guitarists. There's some guitarists in my hometown that play circles around me. I don't think it's necessarily [about] being the best. That's impossible, but you can be the best you can be. You can reach your own fullest, best potential."

On the band's worst touring experience:

Karl: "[Laughs] There's so many. We played this little bar and grill in Virginia, and it started off well enough, but some girlfriend of one of the local bands that was on the bill came into our backstage and started off with, 'My boyfriend is so drunk.' That should have been our first clue that shit was going to go south, but we had to experience that for ourselves. It was terrible. Not only was the boyfriend drunk, but she was drunk too. She got right up front and kept trying to spill her beer on me and on my stuff. I've got a lot of expensive pedals. She's right there in the front of the stage and we're trying to get going, and she's got the beer bottle [tilted] and she's leaning, half-drunk. You can see she's about to spill it, so I snatched it from her — took her beer right out of her hand. [I] thought it was over — thought that was the end of it. Two minutes later, there she is again with another beer — same long-neck, Budweiser-kind of thing. Same thing starts happening — she's leaning and swaying back and forth and about to spill it on me. I go to snatch it from her, and this time, she holds on... She starts pulling harder and harder, so I just say, 'Fuck it' [and let go]. That's when she goes 'Pow,' and busts her own lip open with her beer. I was like, 'Oh, man. I don't want nothing to do with this.' Next thing I knew, her boyfriend was coming out of the fucking woodwork. A ridiculous bar brawl broke out. We ended up not even playing because of this crazy bitch and her lunatic boyfriend."

On how NILE has shaped him:

Karl: "I've been playing in bands since I was, like, 16. That's a long way back. I'm 56 [now]. It's pretty much all I know and all I can remember. I don't remember what it was like to not be in a band... I really love metal. I really can't see myself doing something else. This is what I gave my life to. This is what I worked for. This is what decades of hard work and sacrifice was for, just to play music. To go do something else, why? That's another lifetime — not this one."

On an unexpected vocal influence:

Karl: "I noticed right away when I started doing vocals that my voice didn't sound like everybody else. I was listening to Tibetan monks quite a bit, and some of the things they do were very influential and pointed me in whatever path I've gone down."

NILE's ninth album, "Vile Nilotic Rites" was released on November 1 via Nuclear Blast.

MARTY FRIEDMAN On 'Dragon's Kiss' Solo Debut: 'There's A Lot Of Things I Would Do Differently Now'

Former MEGADETH lead guitarist Marty Friedman has recently added songs from his debut solo album, "Dragon's Kiss", to his live repertoire. Released in 1988 via Shrapnel, "Dragon's Kiss" followed up Friedman and Jason Becker's legendary CACOPHONY album, "Speed Metal Symphony", which quickly put the two players on the guitar playing map. Friedman and Becker would release one more CACOPHONY album, 1988's "Go Off!" before Friedman was tapped to join MEGADETH in 1990 in time to record "Rust In Peace".

"Looking back at it now and planning to play it now gives me the opportunity to right any wrongs that I find when I'm listening to it," he told Australia's Heavy magazine (hear audio below). There's a lot of things that I would do differently now, of course, but when I listen to it, it's really not that bad. I really agree with a lot of the stuff that I did back then. I think it's exciting to touch extremes from that world. It's almost like doing a cover of somebody else. When you go back and you haven't heard much of it or played much of it in several years, it's almost like listening to somebody else. It's kind of a fun thing to do when it's actually your own music. I don't cringe as much as I thought as I was going to cringe. [Laughs]"

In a 2014 interview with Glide Magazine, Friedman said that he was "very happy" to still be talking about "Dragon's Kiss" three decades after its release. "To me, it's just like anything else that I've ever done," he explained. "I just did the best I could at that time and it was a fantastic experience. It was my first solo album, the first album that my name was going to be on the headline. So I guess there was somewhat of a high standard that I was achieving, but I probably would have went for that same standard anyway, because I've never been the type to be lazy when it comes to something that is going to be released. So I'm sure that I put in plenty of blood and sweat and tears on it, but that really doesn't stand out to me more than anything else that I have done."

Friedman is continuing to tour in support of "One Bad M.F. Live!!", which was released last October. The album was recorded in Mexico City on April 14, 2018, during the final concert of Friedman's world tour in support of "Wall Of Sound".

Joining Friedman on "One Bad M.F. Live!!" are his bandmates Kiyoshi on bass, Jordan Ziff (RATT) on guitar and Chargeeee on drums.

IHSAHN To Release First Of Two New EPs In February

EMPEROR frontman Ihsahn will release "Telemark", the first of two new five-song EPs, on February 14 via Candlelight. The effort will represent the heavier side of Ihsahn's music, while the companion EP — to be released at a later date — will show his more progressive side.

"Having released full-length records nearly every second year since I was 16, I felt it might be time to try something else," Ihsahn, whose real name is Vegard Sverre Tveitan, told U.K.'s Prog magazine. "Also, I wanted to approach what I do in a way that felt natural but also to try to adapt it to the way that music is now performed and experienced. I have seven solo albums out now, so the first EP is like a small recap, in a way. I did touch on some of the same thematics with 'Arktis', but this time it's closer to home, both musically and, dare I say, culturally."

He continued: "The plan is to then follow up this EP with its aesthetic and musical counterpart, wherein I can distil all those more progressive, experimental and mellow elements of my music. Ultimately, it's all a means for me to get some of those ideas out of my system, giving myself space before I delve into the next album."

Regarding the "Telemark" title, Ihsahn said: "It's the county I grew up in and still live in, so the whole thing is situated there and very much inspired by that. So you could say it's a roots-orientated album. I decided early on that I wanted this to be very purely related to black metal aesthetics. I wanted to distil the basic, bare bones black metal influences of my musical roots, given the overall concept, writing something for and from Telemark. I decided to do Norwegian lyrics for the first time, too. It feels very much closer to home in many ways."

Ihsahn spends most of his time touring and recording as a solo artist, while continuing to support EMPEROR's legacy with live reunion shows every few years,

His seventh solo album, "Ámr", came out in May 2018 via Candlelight/Spinefarm.

AL PITRELLI Says TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA Has Started Recording New Holiday Music

In a recent interview with Guitar World, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA guitarist Al Pitrelli (SAVATAGE, MEGADETH) revealed that the group has started tracking new holiday music at its studio in Tampa, Florida (the facility formerly known as Morrisound) — TSO's first recordings since the 2017 death of producer Paul O'Neill.

"There's a lot of stuff that was not completed that Paul wanted to see come to life," Pitrelli said. "He wanted this to live forever, and it's comforting to know that that's being accomplished now that there's new music being worked on. It just makes my heart smile, because at the end of the day, Paul's wishes are coming true."

Pitrelli also said that TSO's touring schedule — which often sees each of the group's two touring troupes each perform twice a day — isn't as rigorous as it might seem on paper. "This isn't something that I sit around all year long and then just go, 'Oh, I've got to get ready to go to work,'" he said. "Physically, mentally and playing-wise, I'm never out of shape, and I'm never really unprepared. If we're not touring, we're recording. If we're not recording, we're touring. There's always a guitar in my lap."

His comments were echoed by fellow TSO guitarist and SAVATAGE alumnus Chris Caffery. "It's hard to physically prepare yourself," he said. "You can [practice] for five hours, but you don't put the same emotion into it. It's always like that with a metal band when you go on tour — we call it 'gig neck,' when your neck isn't used to that movement. It takes a few days to get into it. That's why I always find that I don't get more tired as the tour goes on — I get stronger, since my muscles adjust and it gets easier."

Caffery also noted that the group's performers exercise self-discipline on days off. "We take care of ourselves a lot differently now," he explained. "In my 20s, we would be hanging out at bars and going to shows on our days off. Now, we don't do anything other than rest. We're aiming a different energy towards this. There's just so many people who come to see this show that you want everybody to see the best thing we can do."

This year's TSO tour — during which the band is expected to play before more than one million fans — sees the group performing its triple-platinum 1996 debut album, "Christmas Eve And Other Stories", for the first time since 2011.

TESLA Guitarist FRANK HANNON Releases Documentary Video On New Solo Song "South Side"

Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon’s latest solo single, “South Side”, is not only a tribute to his hometown hood of South Sacramento, California, but also a homage to the very first band of musicians that Frank played and learned music with as a 12 year old kid in the '70s. A documentary video on the song can be seen below:

The first verse of 'South Side" mentions "Me and Bobby hanging out in the park.. drinking beers and playing guitars!" This is about the late Bobby Reed (R.I.P) who was Frank's best friend in 7th grade and who taught him how to play his first guitar leads. It also helped that Bobby was feared by the neighborhood thugs as he protected Frank when they hung out in the park.

The second verse talks of jamming in the garage with 11 year old Johnny and playing their very first gig at the Moose Lodge which had included Frank’s cousin Mike playing bass guitar. The young band didn’t even have a name yet, but the guys were sometimes called The Cruisin’ Cousins. Recently reunited with John Barry after 40 years... the song has become a trip down memory lane.

In addition to singing vocals and playing guitars on "South Side", Frank Hannon also produced the track. Drums were played by Kelly Smith.

"South Side" is currently available for download and stream across your favorite music platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.

Catch Frank Hannon's solo show live at Whisky A Go-Go in West Hollywood, California on January 24, 2020.

Ex-LAMB OF GOD Drummer CHRIS ADLER: 'It's Exciting For Me To Be Able To Stay Passionate In The Music Industry'

Former LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler spoke to The Hindu about his management agency, Kintsugi Management. Less than a year old, the company, which Adler launched with music industry executive Jason Lekberg, currently works with two bands: BETRAYING THE MARTYRS from France and DYSCARNATE from the U.K.

"It's exciting for me to be able to stay passionate in the music industry without having to be on the road for eight or 10 months a year," Chris said. "It has given me a chance to get in touch with bands that I really like, and hopefully help them avoid some of the problems in the music industry that I have seen." For instance, he observed, "The typical record label deal is just absolutely terrible; merchandise deals are terrible; it's very hard to stand out in a crowd of a million other bands."

According to Adler, the managent company is not limited to representing metal acts. "[I am] open to anything," he said. "But I seem to have a reputation in heavy metal, and I really still love heavy metal, so that goes a long way and is probably a good place for me to start. And as the music picks up, there's no limit to it."

Earlier this month, Adler returned to India to conduct a series of drum and music-business clinics and live shows titled "The Chris Adler Experience", presented by Gravity Talent. The live shows are seeing Adler supported by a number of the country's top musicians belting out the best-known LAMB OF GOD and MEGADETH material.

CREST OF DARKNESS Release Official Lyric Video For New Song "Blood"

Norwegian black metal veterans Crest Of Darkness have released a lyric video for "Blood", a track from their upcoming ninth full-length album The God Of Flesh, which is set for release on My Kingdom Music on December 6th.

Although still filled with Crest Of Darkness' trademark Satanic themes, The God Of Flesh marks a change to the feel, variety and depth of the music, showing the band's lineup of Amlien (Conception, Roquefire) on bass and vocals, Rebo on guitars, and Berhard (Pale Forest) on drums, to be as much at home with more progressive and melodic elements, as they are with the aggressive and dark brutal side, for which they are known.

Amlien recently remarked that The God Of Flesh, which will be the band's ninth full-length album,  was "probably the darkest and most brutal album we've ever made! It's also the most honest work ever from my perspective."

The tracklisting, and cover art for The God Of Flesh (created by Marius Engli Andersson), can be seen below.

"The God Of Flesh"
"The Child With No Head"
"Endless Night"
"The Spawn Of Seth"
"Forgotten"
"Euthanasia"
"Blood"
"Godless Evil Eyes"
"Salvation In Hell"

Seeking an outlet for his passion for sonic brutality and his interest in Vampirism and Satanic ideology, on which he is an acknowledged expert, Amlien  formed Crest Of Darkness in the mid-'90s and considers today's lineup to be the strongest in the band's history, as he explains:

"During the whole production of the album I was thinking that now, more than ever before, I wanted to make an album my way! And, as a result, we haven't made any compromises whatsoever, in any direction. And I'm very fortunate to be able to say that I was not alone during the whole process. With the help of my fantastic bandmates Rebo and Bernhard, it became possible to bring my darkest fantasies and visions to life through The God Of Flesh."

The God of Flesh will be available in Digital, Digipak CD, Deluxe CD Box, and Vinyl formats, and is now available to pre-order at this location.

THE BLACK CROWES' RICH ROBINSON On Reconnecting With Brother CHRIS: 'Family Is More Important' Than Anything Else

Brothers Chris and Rich Robinson spoke to Marci Wiser of the 95.5 KLOS radio station about their 46-date summer tour, marking THE BLACK CROWES' first shows together since 2013. The group will perform its multi-platinum 1990 debut album "Shake Your Money Maker" in its entirety, along with a smattering of other hits and favorites.

THE BLACK CROWES officially disbanded in 2014, with Rich Robinson releasing a statement suggesting his brother demanded that he give up his equal share of the band.

Asked how they worked through their differences to be able to do the upcoming tour, Chris said (see video below): "I think working through it is gonna be like a theme. But life is full of cruel mysteries. It's been a long time, and I think Rich and I, we went many years without speaking to each other. On one level, people with family and siblings, whether you work with them or not, it's tough, in any dynamic. But when you work together, and then you're in something like rock and roll, which is the most beautiful… Rich and I will always agree; we're humble in the face of the tradition we get to work in. But you're young, and stuff happens — all cool stuff — but it's a lot of pressure. And eventually, we just ended up not being able to deal. But I've been through a lot of changes, Rich has been through a lot of changes, and then it just seemed like [the right time to reconnect]."

Added Rich: "Also, when you care about what we do as much as we do. So it was always important to us. But, yeah, family is more important than all of it. And so to be able to come back and really focus on that… 'Cause making music was never the issue for us. And to come back in such a positive light, and come back and play these songs that we wrote when we were kids, in my mom's living room — literally. I was in high school."

The Robinson brothers also spoke about the decision to perform "Shake Your Money Maker" in its entirety to celebrate the LP's 30th anniversary. Chris said: "For where Rich and I are, we never did anything remotely like that." Rich added: "I think we ran away from 'Shake Your Money Maker' pretty quickly and went out into the great wide open of experimentation musically. We were proud of the record, we loved the record, but we did 350 shows on the 'Shake Your Money Maker' tour in 18 months, and by then, we were so done with it. So over the years, with [follow-up albums, 1992's] '[The] Southern Harmony [And Musical Companion]' and [1994's] 'Amorica', we kind of got further away from it. So to look back at this, to me, it's like a new record. It's coming back and really focusing on this thing, the way it is now. We just thought it was a cool idea to focus on this record, 'cause we've never done it. We were, like, 'Yeah. That's pretty interesting.'" Chris chimed in: "Rich and I have bickered and argued over tons of stuff, but this [being] a cool record was never one of the issues."

THE BLACK CROWES launched the reunion with a concert Monday night (November 11) at New York City's Bowery Ballroom and took the stage again on Thursday (November 14) at Los Angeles's Troubadour club. The official tour kicks off properly on June 17 at Austin's Austin360 Amphitheater in Austin wraps on September 19 at the Forum in L.A. Joining the brothers will be a all new lineup of THE CROWES featuring EARTHLESS guitarist Isaiah Mitchell, former TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND bassist Tim Lefebvre along with ONCE AND FUTURE BAND members Joel Robinow on keyboards and Raj Ojha on drums.

GARY HOLT Gives KEVIN HART 'A Pass' For Wearing EXODUS T-Shirt

EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt says that he gives Kevin Hart "a pass" for wearing one of the band's t-shirts even though the comedian is likely not a fan of the group's music.

Last week, Hart and his pal Dwayne Johnson hit the road on a promotional tour for their new movie, "Jumanji: The Next Level". While in Mexico on Wednesday, Hart — decked out in the forementioned EXODUS tee — and Johnson decided to film videos for their respective social media followers in which they got playfully heated.

After the footage made the rounds, Holt took to his Instagram to weigh in. He wrote: "Okay everyone... yes I've seen this! Haha! Is he a fan? I highly doubt it, more likely his stylist bought it for a small fortune at some vintage tee shirt shop, if it's not a modern bootleg. How do I feel? Eh. Another dude using metal shirts to look edgy. Who knows? BUT. I'm a HUGE Kevin Hart fan, so I give him a pass cause he makes me laugh my ass off!"

Hart is just the latest in a growing trend of celebrities wearing heavy metal t-shirts as high fashion. Rapper Kanye West has previously been criticized for repping vintage band tees, and Kim Kardashian is regularly spotted wearing METALLICA t-shirts. More recently, Kim's maternal half-sibling Kendall Jenner was seen getting around in a SLAYER tee, and Holt — who also plays with SLAYER — apparently responded by wearing a t-shirt onstage that read "Kill The Kardashians".

After Kanye was seen wearing a TESTAMENT t-shirt in 2016, the band's guitarist Alex Skolnick reacted negatively in an online post, writing: "Goodness gracious. This whole decrepit clan must have picked up a pile of old concert t-shirts (the same pile Kourtney K's SLAYER shirt came from) which have somehow become a 'thing' in trendy fashion (who'd have thought?!!). Inconceivable that any of these pop-culture vultures know who the heck any of the bands are. My guess is he thinks it's a religious group (not the first time that's happened). That is, if he thinks at all, which lately seems unlikely. And I thought this time period couldn't get any weirder..."

FAITH NO MORE has confirmed two more European festival appearances for next summer. The band will perform at Helsinki, Finland's Tuska on June 28 and at Madrid, Spain's Mad Cool in early July.

So far, the following shows have been announced:

June 13 - Punchestown, Ireland @ Sunstroke Festival

June 20 - Clisson, France @ Hellfest

June 26 - Oslo, Norway @ Tons Of Rock

June 28 - Helsinki, Finland @ Tuska

July 8-11 - Madrid, Spain @ Mad Cool

The influential alt-metal act announced earlier this week that it will return to the road in early 2020, five years after the release of the group's acclaimed reunion album, "Sol Invictus".

"Five years, four colonoscopies, two root canals and a handful of prostate exams tell us that it's time to carpe diem our asses back to Europe asap," the band said in a statement.

FAITH NO MORE initially reunited for touring purposes in 2009, twelve years after issuing its previous studio set, "Album Of The Year", and followed that up with the aforementioned "Sol Invictus".

Last year, keyboardist Roddy Bottum said that he had been making new music with his FAITH NO MORE bandmates Mike Bordin and Billy Gould.

"I will periodically go to San Francisco and make music with those guys," he told "The Ring, The Cage, And The Stage". "What we do is a really special, unique thing that we kind of share — especially like me and Mike Bordin and Billy… We were super young — we were, like, 18 [or] 19 years old — when we started making music, so we kind of get in the room and we have a language that speaks really loud and really clear, at least to the three of us. I mean, where it goes is questionable, but we have sort of a language that's kind of undeniable in a really sort of family sense. And I think we all acknowledge that it's not something that any of us wanna turn our backs on, and it's kind of fun to do. So in the hopes of pushing things forward and making new music, we continue to do that, to get together and make new sounds and just have a dialogue about prospects and songs and where we go in the future."

In 2017, FAITH NO MORE singer Mike Patton told Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show that the band was "on an extended break." He added: "And if something happens, it'll happen organically and naturally. But I kind of don't think it will. I kind of feel like we've tipped the scales a little bit. But we'll see. Who knows? I've learned my lesson not to say 'no.'"

Patton stressed that he didn't close the door on any future shows with FAITH NO MORE. "It's one of those things. It's kind of like going to a family reunion, and you get along with your uncle, and then you're, like, 'Oh, we're gonna go to the next barbecue. Okay. Fine,'" he said. "I mean, that's really the way it is with us."

Chuck Mosley, who sang on FAITH NO MORE's first two albums, died in November 2017 "due to the disease of addiction," according to a statement from his family. He was 57.

RICHIE FAULKNER: 'It's Not My Decision To Make' Whether K.K. DOWNING Will Be Involved In JUDAS PRIEST's 50th-Anniversary Tour

JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner says that it's his bandmates' call as to whether they want to include K.K. Downing in their upcoming 50th-anniversary celebrations.

Earlier today, Downing revealed that he recently reached out to JUDAS PRIEST "to gather their thoughts" on the possibility of him participating in the 2020 tour marking the band's half-century milestone. According to the guitarist, his former bandmates were "not receptive" to his involvement in the trek and they "do not intend to include" him in the 50th-anniversary tour.

As could be expected, Downing's revelation caused an uproar with PRIEST fans, many of whom feel that a PRIEST anniversary tour will not be legitimate without K.K.'s participation.

"What?!!! @judaspriest Are you serious?" one fan wrote on Twitter. "Don't be bastards es BLACK SABBATH with Bill Ward. Be gratefull don't be fucking idiots."

The fan then tagged Richie and added: "Richie please be good and try to change the point of view to the boys."

In response, Faulkner wrote: "As I've said before Elkin, it's not my decision to make. I don't have a 50 year relationship like they do. It's their call"

Downing left PRIEST in 2011 amid claims of band conflict, shoddy management and declining quality of performance. He was replaced by Faulkner, nearly three decades his junior.

In a recent interview with Dean Delray's "Let There Be Talk" podcast, Faulkner was asked if he has had any direct contact with Downing since he joined PRIEST. "We've gone backwards and forwards on Twitter and a couple of e-mails, and what have you, but I've never met him," Richie said. "He's always been cordial. There have a couple of things on Twitter — a couple of misunderstandings and stuff like that, which is just the nature of the Internet."

Richie went on to say that he doesn't feel it's appropriate for him to weigh in on the relationship between his bandmates and Downing, who has been vocal about his dissatisfaction over the fact that he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST when Glenn Tipton announced his retirement from the road nearly two years ago.

"When it comes to K.K., it's not my thing — it's their thing," Faulkner said. "They've got a relationship with him for 40, 50 years, and it's their deal — it's out of my hands. Personally, I wish it would be different. But it is what it is. And, as I said, it's out of my hands, really. He was cordial to me, as I said, over a couple of e-mails and Twitter posts, and I haven't got a problem with him. But, as I said, it's their relationship — it's their thing to deal with."

Asked how the guitar playing in PRIEST would be split if Downing was to return for the band's 50th-anniversary tour, Faulkner said: "I guess if he was in it, I don't think Ken would be playing my bits. I honestly couldn't tell you. I wouldn't know… I guess if Ken was there, he'd play his parts and I'd play my parts and then Glenn's parts, which is fine for me… But it's one of those things, man… I wish, personally, it had been a different outcome and everyone was getting on fine and Ken could come back and everyone was friends and we could do it for the last tour, the 50th anniversary, go out with a bang and Glenn can come back when [he is able to]. But that's not the way it worked out, unfortunately. But who knows? What will be will be. Again, that's out of my hands. As I said, it's not my relationship to have."

Last month, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.

Downing; Tipton; drummers Dave Holland, Les Binks and Scott Travis; singer Rob Halford; and bassist Ian Hill are on the ballot for JUDAS PRIEST.

Halford told Billboard in 2017 that he was not opposed to the idea of reuniting with Downing at the Rock Hall induction ceremony if they were to ever receive the honor. "Everything's on the table for anyone that's been associated with PRIEST in and out of the band," the singer said.

PHILIP ANSELMO's SCOUR Releases Cover Of BATHORY's 'Massacre'

SCOUR — the extreme metal unit featuring Philip H. Anselmo (PANTERA, DOWN, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS, SUPERJOINT), John Jarvis (AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED), Derek Engemann (PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS, ex-CATTLE DECAPITATION), Mark Kloeppel (MISERY INDEX) and Adam Jarvis (PIG DESTROYER, MISERY INDEX) — will release its long-anticipated "Black" EP (the third in a three-part series) next year via Housecore Records.

As a precursor to its release, the band is pleased to unveil a special Black Friday teaser with its scalding cover of BATHORY classic "Massacre". Fan-filmed video clip of the track, captured at various shows through the years, can be seen below.

Says SCOUR: "As we await the completion of SCOUR's next release, the 'Black' EP, enjoy our cover of BATHORY's 'Massacre'!"

SCOUR's "Massacre" cover was mixed and mastered by Dave Otero at Flatline Audio and will be streaming on all platforms and available for free download Black Friday, November 29 at the SCOUR Bandcamp page.

Additionally, SCOUR is commemorating the release with a limited-edition "Massacre" tribute shirt through Indiemerchstore for $16.66 with special code: BARGAINBIN. Grab yours today at this location.

Forged in 2015, SCOUR's debilitating fusion of black metal, grindcore, and thrash made its debut with the ferocious single "Dispatched". The band's debut EP, "Grey", was released the following year via Anselmo's own Housecore label. Just before a crushing performance at Hellfest, which featured a cover of the PANTERA classic "Strength Beyond Strength", the band recorded the "Red" EP at Nodferatu's Lair with Steve Berrigan (DOWN, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS, EYEHATEGOD, HAARP, CLASSHOLE) at the helm. The record was mixed and mastered by Dave Otero at Flatline Audio and released in 2017. Reaping critical hails from fans and critics alike, the recording ranked among Revolver's 20 Best Albums Of 2017, with the esteemed publication noting, "ex-PANTERA frontman Phil Anselmo has dabbled in black metal intermittently for over two decades now with side projects like CHRIST INVERSION, VIKING CROWN, EIBON, and now SCOUR, his gnarled crew of battle-tested players from PIG DESTROYER, CATTLE DECAPITATION, and others. A six-track romp through buzzing infernos and sludgy hellscapes, the supergroup's second EP, 'Red', is Anselmo's finest black-metal hour to date — no corpse paint necessary."

Further details on the "Black" EP will be announced in the coming weeks.

K.K. DOWNING Says He Reached Out To JUDAS PRIEST About Participating In 50th-Anniversary Tour

Ex-JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing says that his former bandmates have no intention of including him in their upcoming 50th-anniversary tour.

Earlier this year, PRIEST announced that it will celebrate the half-century milestone with extensive touring in 2020, with a number of summer European festival dates already booked.

Downing, who co-founded PRIEST when he was still a teenager, addressed the possibility of his participation in next year's trek in a statement issued earlier today.

He said: "First of all, I want to once again express my huge appreciation to all fans worldwide for the overwhelmingly positive response to my Bloodstock appearance in August and the Wolverhampton gig in early November. I am truly humbled and grateful. I am also taken aback with the compelling fan outcry for me to participate in the JUDAS PRIEST 50th-anniversary celebrations next year. Consequently, I felt the right thing to do was to reach out to my former bandmates to gather their thoughts on this, and their response is they are not receptive to my participation in the band and they do not intend to include me in the 50th anniversary celebrations. However, the great news for the fans is that I will be continuing to forge ahead. I am looking very much forward to seeing you all on the road in 2020. Together we will take on the world."

Downing left PRIEST in 2011 amid claims of band conflict, shoddy management and declining quality of performance. He was replaced by Richie Faulkner, nearly three decades his junior.

Last year, Downing revealed that he sent two resignation letters to his bandmates when he decided to quit JUDAS PRIEST. The first was described as "a graceful exit note, implying a smooth retirement from music," while the second was "angrier, laying out all of his frustrations with specific parties."

Downing later said that he believed the second letter was "a key reason" he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST after Glenn Tipton's decision to retire from touring.

Last month, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.

Downing; Tipton; drummers Dave Holland, Les Binks andScott Travis; singer Rob Halford; and bassist Ian Hill are on the ballot for JUDAS PRIEST.

Halford told Billboard in 2017 that he was not opposed to the idea of reuniting with Downing at the Rock Hall induction ceremony if they were to ever receive the honor. "Everything's on the table for anyone that's been associated with PRIEST in and out of the band," the singer said.

Earlier this month, Downing played a one-off set of PRIEST classics alongside Binks, ex-PRIEST singer Tim "Riper" Owens and MEGADETH's David Ellefson in Wolverhampton, England.

Downing returned to the stage over the summer, joining former MANOWAR guitarist Ross The Boss for a four-song performance at the U.K.'s Bloodstock Open Air festival.

K.K.'s autobiography, "Heavy Duty: Days And Nights In Judas Priest", was released in September 2018 via Da Capo Press.

K.K. DOWNING On JUDAS PRIEST's ROCK HALL Nomination: 'It's Hard To Think Of Another Band That's Done More'

K.K. Downing says that it would be a "big thing" for JUDAS PRIEST to finally be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame at next year's ceremony.

Having been eligible for induction since 1999, JUDAS PRIEST was on the ballot for last year's class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but ultimately didn't clinch the nomination.

Last month, it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2020. The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall.

Speaking to Danny Stoakes, Downing acknowledged that PRIEST fans were let down when the band wasn't inducted into the Rock Hall in 2018.

"I know that a lot of people expected us to get in last time," he said (hear audio below). "And I did hear that some of the people on the voting committee left because we didn't get in, 'cause they were so disappointed and stuff.

"I'm not exactly sure how the whole thing works myself, really," he continued. "I only know it's bloody hard to get in there. I know it took [BLACK] SABBATH a long, long time [to get in there] — didn't it? — as well. I've said it before, PRIEST has such a massive — over 50 years and the amount of albums and the work and shows that we've done. It's hard to think of another band that's done more, really."

Downing also recognized a couple of fellow heavy rock bands who are nominated for induction for the first time this year.

"THIN LIZZY and MOTÖRHEAD, they should be there — of course they should," he said. "They're absolute legends. Bands like that should be in already, really. But we only look at it from the rock and metal point of view, I suppose. 'Cause also we're up against a lot of artists from other genres — a lot of them I've never heard of. [Laughs]"

Downing went on to lament the fact that some of the artists — including MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy and THIN LIZZY's Phil Lynott — are being nominated for the Rock Hall posthumously.

"We've got one member that's included in our nomination — Dave Holland — that's no longer with us," he said. "And I think Dave was 68 when he passed away. So it's just a little bit sad, really, to have such a great accolade and not be there to be able to at least know that you achieved that."

K.K. added: "I know to a lot of people in Europe it might not mean too much, but it is a big thing, really, the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame."

To be eligible for this year's ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to be released in 1994 or earlier.

A voter pool of more than 1,000 artists, historians, journalists and members of the music industry will select the new class. Fans will also have a chance to take part in the process by voting at RockHall.com or an interactive kiosk at the museum in Cleveland.

Downing, Holland, Les Binks, Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis are on the ballot for JUDAS PRIEST.

Halford told Billboard in 2017 that he was not opposed to the idea of reuniting with Downing at the Rock Hall induction ceremony if they were to ever receive the honor. "Everything's on the table for anyone that's been associated with PRIEST in and out of the band," the singer said.

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD Says It's 'Truly Magical' To Be Able To Celebrate Band's Five-Decade History

In a recent interview with Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show, Rob Halford reflected on JUDAS PRIEST's five-decade history which will be celebrated next year on a world tour. The singer said (hear audio below): "You tend to remember the early years more significantly. Because, as any band will tell you that's had the great joy of having a long life in music, those early years were… It's a struggle. You have to pay your dues — you have to play every bar, every club, every pub; anywhere you can plug in the amps, you do that. And then, 'We have some money, guys. Do we spend it on food or gas for the van? We've gotta get gas in the van.' That kind of thing. So to go from that place to this place, 50-odd million-plus records later, with 50 years to celebrate alongside it, is just truly magical."

Bassist Ian Hill is the sole remaining original member of JUDAS PRIEST. Halford joined JUDAS PRIEST in 1973 and guitarist Glenn Tipton signed on in 1974. Rob left PRIEST in the early 1990s to form his own band, then returned to PRIEST in 2003. Founding guitarist K.K. Downing parted ways with the band in 2011, and was replaced by Richie Faulkner.

A month before the start of PRIEST's "Firepower" tour, Tipton bowed out due to the worsening of his Parkinson's disease, first diagnosed five years ago (after being stricken by the degenerative condition at least half a decade earlier). His spot in the band is being filled by "Firepower" album producer Andy Sneap.

Downing said in October 2018 that all of PRIEST's living former and current members should be involved in the group's upcoming 50th-anniversary celebration.
