Video of SEPULTURA's Eloy Casagrande playing along to SLIPKNOT's classic song "People = Shit", from the 2001 album "Iowa", can be seen below.
Says Eloy about the clip: "No audio editing, no samples, no triggers. Audio recorded with the EAD10 plugged straight to my phone (using the device's camera to record the video).
"This album was recorded without a click track, which means that the tempo is volatile."
This past February, SEPULTURA singer Derrick Green told Australia's Everblack Media that Casagrande has had "a tremendous impact" on the group since he joined in 2011. "It's undeniable because he's such a strong force," he said. "He loves playing metal music. He's one of the most talented drummers I've ever seen, honestly. That power is consistent from beginning to the end. It really has rubbed off on all of us to really push ourselves further. He's such a perfect match for the band. He really is always influencing us in so many ways to really go beyond — above and beyond."
More than a year ago, Eloy told Drumtalk that he didn't care about the long-simmering feud between founding SEPULTURA members Max and Igor Cavalera and his current bandmates. "I respect all the history," he said. "I have total respect for the past drummers, Igor and Jean [Dolabella]. They are amazing guys, incredible guys, but we just live in the present. I really don't care what happened, what didn't happen. I respect all the music. I respect their music nowadays. It's just that we have to follow our path and that's it."
Casagrande joined SEPULTURA in 2011 as the replacement for Dolabella.
SEPULTURA's latest album, "Quadra", was released in February via Nuclear Blast. The LP was created at Sweden's Fascination Street Studios with renowned producer Jens Bogren.
SEPULTURA comprises Green, guitarist Andreas Kisser, bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. and Casagrande.
Sebastian Bach has recorded a quarantine cover version of former JOURNEY singer Steve Perry's 1984 solo hit "Oh Sherrie".
Bach uploaded the video to his social media, saying: "Bored in my house after seven months, decided to put on a record and sing a song for you.
"For all you audiophiles out there, what you are hearing right here is my voice panned either to the left or the right or both of Steve Perry's voice which is in the center which I left alone," he explained. "So technically this is a duet, my voice is louder in the mix than the track and you can hear us both. I do not have pro tools installed on my computer, this is at the most two of my voices in the chorus only. Crank it up right from my record room to yours!"
Back in 2018, Bach credited Perry with helping him expand his vocal range.
The former SKID ROW frontman praised the the ex-JOURNEY singer after spending time with Perry at a birthday party thrown by ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell.
Bach posted a photo of him hanging out with Perry at the bash, and wrote in the accompanying note: "Got to spend the afternoon with one of my top two favorite singers on the planet, Steve Perry of JOURNEY fame. It was so great to see him again. We talked about the last time we saw each other which was way back in 1991 the day that Nikki Sixx asked me to join MÖTLEY CRÜE at their rehearsal in Hollywood, California. That day, Steve Perry was there and introduced me to his daughter, which, he told me, she still talks about to this day. Haha!
"It was incredible to see Steve who looked exactly the same as he always has and talk about how his vocals have helped me over the years.
"When I get ready to go on tour, I warm up to Steve Perry's incredible singing and it's helped me expand my range over the years, as you can hear on my last couple of studio records.
"Steve's voice is so incredible to listen to and such an inspiration to all vocalists worldwide."
Bach has spent the last few months demoing material for his next studio album. The LP is expected to include guest appearances and songwriting contributions from Orianthi, John 5, Steve Stevens, Devin Bronson, Brent Woods, Eli Santana and Jeremy Colson.
Bach hasn't released a full-length disc since "Give 'Em Hell", which came out in 2014.

Southern California rock quartet Joyous Wolf released the four-song Mother Rebel EP via Roadrunner Records on September 4th. The EP features the original version of the thunderous title track, along with acoustic and live versions. The release also includes an acoustic version of "Feel The Low". The EP is available now at this location.
"The story of 'Mother Rebel' is centered around the perspectives of two young adolescents living in pre-Civil War America: one in the South and the other in the North," the band says. "They are both witnessing the growing, unruly tension of the world around them, brought on, in part, by the publication of Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. In the North, abolitionists praised her as a hero. Her honest depiction of the inhumanity of slavery boosted the public consciousness forward. In the South, however, her book was banned. She was labeled a liar and completely discredited. The adolescents are told completely opposing stories. The world around them divides and plunges into war. Using Stowe as a speaker shows the warning of man's ignorance and lust for violence and that with proper guidance we can always rise above even the darkest of times."
Joyous Wolf — Nick Reese (vocals), Blake Allard (guitar), Greg Braccio (bass), Robert Sodaro (drums) — also shared an electromagnetic live performance video of "Mother Rebel", which was filmed during the same studio sessions in which the EP audio was recorded. The visuals are trippy while the clip crackles with the band's signature live intensity. It will make viewers feel as if they were front row center at a Joyous Wolf show.
"Our acoustic version of 'Feel The Low'. We are happy so share this moment with all of you during this time. We hope that it adds a little joy to your day," says Joyous Wolf. "Remember to keep your head up and to pick up the people who can't themselves. Be good to each other!"
Progressive death metal titans Contrarian are set to release their fourth album, Only Time Will Tell, November 20th on Willowtip Records! Kicking things off in grand fashion, the band has premiered the official video for opening track "In A Blink Of An Eye". Check it out below.
The "new school of old school progressive death metal" is how Contrarian is described; creating death metal that is authentically original with a natural memory and understanding of the old. Rooted in early '90s progressive death metal, but with an unrelenting forward-thinking approach. Spearheaded by guitar player Jim Tasikas, Contrarian is a group of like-minded musicians that coincidentally converged on a vision of what a modern death metal band should sound like. Organic sounding, yet aggressive and melodically complex, Contrarian is packed with snake-like riffage and atmospheric variations that will provide a wholly enticing listen to all those willing to take in its eccentricity.
Contrarian is thinking man's metal, both musically and lyrically. The band uses methods of fantasy and escapism to convey ideas involving philosophy, theology, and science. Contrarian has been on a campaign to promote thinking man’s metal for a long time. Organic and passionate playing, dignified studio recording methods that reflects an understanding of the craft competence, evolution and succession of diverse metal history over decades.
Only Time Will Tell is Contrarian's fourth studio album. Once again, a concept album that deals with the band's familiar topics of philosophy and theology. This time, the band's mascot 'the cloaked contrarian' endeavors on an adventure of time travel for redemption and love.

"The Final Hour"

Their influences are myriad; from the power of Zeppelin through the melodic genius of Thin Lizzy, onto the modern blues-rock of Rival Sons and the hard edge of Soundgarden, Gallows Circus manage to make a sound all of their own.
Gallows Circus will release their upcoming second EP, II, on September 25th. It sees the acclaimed quartet demonstrating a more focussed, intensely melodic, and hard-hitting sound. The band are coming out swinging!

"One hot summer night, on a back porch in Oklahoma, we played a private, socially distanced, acoustic show for some friends, and at the end of the night decided to do a song that we haven't done in quite a while," says Blacktop Mojo. That song is Aerosmith's "Dream On".
Blacktop Mojo originally uploaded their cover of "Dream On" by Aerosmith to YouTube in 2016. The clip, which can be seen below, has since been viewed over 18 million times.
Earlier this year, in May 2020, Blacktop Mojo released a four-song EP titled Static. Get your copy now at this location.
"Most of these songs were written before we wrote the songs for the Under The Sun record (released in 2019), and for them to finally have a home gives me the warm and fuzzies," says vocalist Matt James. "These songs were very personal, but turning a bunch of painful times into something positive has been incredibly helpful to me. I hope that when people hear these tunes, they might not feel so alone in their struggles."
"Thank you to everyone at @the_orchard_ that helped us with this project and thank you to everyone that continues to crank up our music. I am so very thankful that I get to live the life that I live."

HALESTORM's Lzzy Hale teamed up with LAMB OF GOD's Mark Morton to perform a quarantine acoustic cover version of THE BLACK CROWES' "She Talks To Angels" during an appearance on this past Friday's (September 4) "Raise Your Horns" Internet TV show. Check out video below.
Morton previously recorded a cover of "She Talks To Angels" for his "Ether" EP, which came out in January. Hale also appeared on the track, which Morton said he tackled because it "would really change the angle of it a little bit, having a woman sing it."
A primarily acoustic EP, "Ether" is comprised of three original tracks and two covers that showcase Morton's diversity as a musician.
As with Morton's solo debut, "Anesthetic", released last year, the guitarist enlisted the talents of various musicians and vocalists to bring his songs to life. "Ether" features additional appearances by Howard Jones (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, LIGHT THE TORCH), John Carbone (MOON TOOTH) and Mark Morales.
"Ether" was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA, TRIVIUM).
LAMB OF GOD's latest, self-titled album was released in June via Epic Records in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. The follow-up to "VII: Sturm Und Drang" marks LAMB OF GOD's first recordings with Art Cruz, who joined the band in July 2019 as the replacement for the group's founding drummer, Chris Adler.
GARDNER*JAMES, former VIXEN singer Janet Gardner's collaborative project with her husband, guitarist/producer Justin James, has released the official music video for the song "Rise Up". The track is taken from GARDNER*JAMES's latest album "Synergy", which which was made available via Pavement Entertainment.
Janet and Justin produced the entire video on their own during the pandemic. Justin says: "We turned our living room into a giant green screen, and Janet edited the video on our computer at home." The result is some eye-popping effects to complement this powerful song.
"Synergy" is the first Gardner/James album to be released under the GARDNER*JAMES banner. The couple previously collaborated on Janet's first two solo albums, 2018's "Janet Gardner" and 2019's "Your Place In The Sun".
Janet announced her departure from VIXEN in January 2019, saying in a statement that it was time for her to step aside and let drummer Roxy Petrucci and bassist Share Ross "pursue their vision for the future of VIXEN."
Gardner, Petrucci and Ross are considered to be part of VIXEN's classic lineup, along with founding guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, who died of cancer in October 2013.
Gardner contributed lead vocals to VIXEN's most commercially successful studio albums — "Vixen" (1988), "Rev It Up" (1990) and "Tangerine" (1998) — as well as the group's latest release, 2018's live album "Live Fire".
In January 2018, Gardner underwent surgery to remove blood clots in her brain, a condition known as a subdural hematoma.
While Gardner was recovering from her surgery, VIXEN played a show in Durant, Oklahoma in March 2018 with a fill-in singer, Lorraine Lewis of FEMME FATALE. In January 2019, Lewis was announced as Gardner's official replacement.
James had previously worked as a guitarist/songwriter/producer with members of STAIND, COLLECTIVE SOUL and TYKETTO.
In the video below, Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro can be seen performing a playthrough clip for his new song, "Running With The Bulls":
Get the album here, and find a full audio stream below.
A recent message from Kiko states: "By definition, 'open source' is related to softwares which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. It brings us a higher sense of community, enhances our creativity and creates new possibilities. So why not take this concept to our art, our music? How much richer a song could be if others had access to its source code? What if the song's original composition wasn't the final product? What if it was just the beginning? Something that could be constantly updated and evolve over time. And as well as a machine, we as humans are also minded to enhancements, being an open source ourselves, constantly moving and growing, through technology, science, spirituality… and art. This is the mindset which I bring now to my fifth solo album, that was named... guess what? OPEN SOURCE!"

Professionally filmed video footage of FOZZY performing the song "Judas" at last year's Bloodstock Open Air festival, which was held in August 2019 at Catton Park, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, can be seen below.
Two months ago, former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach accused FOZZY's Chris Jericho of using pre-recorded vocal tracks during live performances. On July 16, Jericho challenged Bach to a "singoff" with "no effects, no tuning, no bullshit" in response to Sebastian's allegation. "Bas is a great singer...but I'm better," Chris wrote on Twitter." The wrestler-turned-singer added: "I've never mimed anything ever! I will fucking sing in your face anytime, anyplace dude. I've been a fan & a defender of u since day one...but don't u ever question my rock abilities!" Bach fired back: " You're full of s*** bro. Every clip on the Internet is you miming to a tape. I will sing in your f****** face anytime. Wrestling is not rock and roll. I will show you f****** rock and roll. Check your texts set up The Sing-Off I am ready when you are".
When Bach first went public with his Jericho accusation, FOZZY guitarist Rich Ward called Sebastian "universally disliked" and said that seeing Bach "publicly go after the only guy that I have ever witness utter a nice word about him is sad."
Sebastian, who has been outspoken about rock bands using pre-recorded backing tracks during live shows, later tried to explain his outburst, writing: "I'm not trying to beat anybody at anything. I'm actually trying to say hey Chris maybe you're right maybe I'll stop singing live and prance around while the tape is playing just like you do Chris. I'm tired of trying so hard it's like beating my head against the wall."
After a self-proclaimed Bach fan called Sebastian "an asshat" on Twitter for firing "the first shots" in his war of words with Jericho, Bach came back with: "Hey man f*** you. I have spent my life learning how to sing live on stage. When someone comes along and mimes to a tape it sucks for all of the rest of us that don't. You want to go see a wrestling match good. Don't call it rock and roll".
Jericho recently spent time in the studio recording vocals for FOZZY's follow-up to 2017's "Judas" album.
Two-time-Grammy-nominated band BRING ME THE HORIZON has enlisted fellow Brit Yungblud for its new single "Obey", out now via Columbia Records. The track premiered as Annie Mac's "Hottest Record" on her BBC Radio 1 show earlier today.
The official video for the single also premiered today. Directed by BRING ME THE HORIZON frontman Oliver Sykes, the visual was shot in London and stars both Oli and Yungblud who battle each other as robots before an unexpected turn of events occurs.
"Obey" is a soaring ode about how, as a society, oppression has been so normalized in our DNA that we can't even see it anymore. Oli says: "We consider ourselves free, but only because the chains are invisible, and we are controlled in ways we don't even want to think about. They tell us how to live with a smile on their face, like shit ain't fucked up, inform us of tragic statistics like it's nothing… it's a weird world."
Yungblud adds: "We are being told to conform to a completely outdated idea that we don't relate to or even understand. They teach us to turn against each other and to fight against our differences rather than embrace and celebrate them. They try to keep us divided because it makes us weaker. Robots follow robots, because they feel nothing at all. But what they don't realize is that to us, to be different is to be free, and a world of fucking love and equality is a world we want to be part of. We will rise above the hate and the diversion. We will fight for the world we want to be a part of. We will not obey."
Written by BRING ME THE HORIZON with additional production by Doom and Doom Eternal composer Mick Gordon, "Obey" is the third track lifted from the band's first EP of the "Posthuman" series. It follows the group's first song released during isolation "Parasite Eve", which has over 35 million streams to date. BRING ME THE HORIZON continues to use this time to create and write what is set to be some of its most boundary-crossing, powerful music to date.
SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor has unveiled his latest single, "HWY 666". It is available on all streaming platforms now and joined by an official lyric video.
Kicking up dust, rustling acoustic guitars introduce "HWY 666" as the tempo increases to a gallop only to turn on a dime towards road-burning distortion. The song blurs the boundaries between outlaw country, punk, and hard rock, complete with cinematic storytelling and a soaring hook.
"HWY 666" is the third single from Taylor's debut solo album, "CMFT", which will be released on October 2 via Roadrunner Records. Taylor recorded the effort with his band consisting of Jason Christopher on bass, Dustin Schoenhofer on drums, and Zach Throne and Christian Martucci (STONE SOUR) on guitar. The LP was completed at Kevin Churko's The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas with producer Jay Ruston, who has previously worked with ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER and STONE SOUR, among others.
"I love what I've done in the past, I love the projects that I've been attached to, but this, honestly, was probably the most enjoyable album that I've done since the first SLIPKNOT album," Corey told Kerrang! magazine. "There was such a sense of, 'We're doing it together.' I hadn't felt anything like that for a really long time, man. People grow apart, relationships become fractious… people stop liking each other sometimes, in certain bands, you know? But with this, it was totally different, because we were all friends before that. We just happened to all play together, and then we formed a band around that friendship, and it all really galvanized it.
"This has definitely made me appreciate making music again, let's put it that way," he added.
The first two singles from the album, "CMFT Must Be Stopped" and "Black Eyes Blue", were released in July and are also available on all streaming platforms now.
"I was talking to my wife about this the other day — I was, like, 'Fuck! There's nobody for me to hide behind!'" Corey told Kerrang! "It's easy to take risks when you have the benefit of a well-established name — and by that, I mean the bands that I've been in for 20 years. But I also feel like I've earned the right to put something out there and throw people for a loop — not only with the things that I've done with both bands, but the guest spots that I've done with several bands: everybody from TONIGHT ALIVE to Zakk Wylde to Tech N9ne. I mean, I've really spread out, in a cool way. I've never sequestered myself to one corner of the genre; I've never allowed myself to be painted into a corner. And I think because of that, people's minds are a lot more open when they hear that I'm putting something out. They're gonna come into it with this mindset of, 'Okay, I don't know what the fuck I'm about to hear. This should be interesting. I think by doing that, that really sets the tone for your career."
SLIPKNOT recently canceled all of its previously announced summer 2020 tour dates, including the "Knotfest Roadshow", Knotfest UK and Knotfest At Sea, due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe.
Seven Kingdoms has dropped their new Short Film: The Great Goat Rodeo. The Great Goat Rodeo is released on video today as a special perk because the crowdfunding campaign for this release hit the first of three goals in less than 24 hours. Check out their Kickstarter here.
“It’s always pretty unbelievable to watch something like a crowdfund happen. We are so thankful for the fans that we have and hope that everyone enjoys this wild and ridiculous release”, commented vocalist, Sabrina Cruz.
“Dictionary.com defines a Goat Rodeo as "a slang term for something going totally, unbelievably, disastrously wrong, and there’s nothing left to do but to sit back and watch the trainwreck.
“Due to how the pandemic has hit the music industry, as a band, we had to make some serious changes to our release and touring schedule. We wanted to push something new a little sooner than later, and make something that is representative of the 'Goat Rodeo' that 2020 is. We have recorded a standalone Single, a Short Film and also an 8 Episode Documentary for immediate release as goals are met in our Crowdfunding Campaign. The Great Goat Rodeo is a fun idea we have had for a very long time, and it’s designed to give people a little comic relief in these uncertain times. We will immediately begin work on our next EP while this rolls out. Take a look at our Campaign for more information on the Project!”
Italian Gothic metal band Cadaveria is teasing their “return” on October 2. A short teaser can be seen below:
Cadaveria recently emerged with a quarantine version of their track “100.000 Faces”, taken from their 2007 album In Your Blood.
With this video, made during the lockdown, the band breaks a silence that lasted over two years, due to the singer's illness.
Cadaveria herself commented:
"I haven't sung a Cadaveria song since December 28, 2017, the date of our last gig. I had decided to take a break in 2018 to make new experiences and to compose. Breast cancer came, not exactly the experience I wanted. Uh, what a hit! A great suffering ... and a great teaching. Many people is asking me if I am healed. ‘Who knows?’ I answer. The doctors can’t speak. Till now everything is fine and I go on. One of the things cancer taught me is that if you like dancing you don't have to wait for the storm to pass, but you have to learn to dance in the rain.
“We started to compose again, with enthusiasm but calmly. Meanwhile, we took off some cobwebs and recorded this quarantine video. See you soon!"
