BLACKRAIN Release "Demon" Single And Music Video

French sleaze rockers, BlackRain, will release their new album, Untamed, through SPV / Steamhammer on November 25. The band have released the new single and video, "Demon". Watch the clip below.

"Demon" is inspired by a French cult soap from the 90s that rocked BlackRain's childhood. The garage, an improvised rehearsal studio, hosted the romances of Hèlène and her girlfriends. But when it came to listening to the musicians' music, a little jingle sounded, and the show moved on to another scene. This is why 30 years after the screen debut of Laly (Laly Meignan), José and his famous waistcoats (Philippe Vasseur), Jimmy (Tom Schacht), BlackRain comes to titillate our apprentice musicians for their offer to play a complete song in the garage.

Says the band, "The song, tinged with nostalgia, speaks of the memory of our young years and its cohort of new experiences. The demon is never far away to tempt us to come back to it."

Untamed was produced by Kissin' Dynamire frontman, Hannes Braun.

Tracklist:

"Untamed"
"Kiss The Sky"
"Dawn Of Hell"
"All The Darkness"

"Set The World On Fire"

LIV SIN Releases New Single "Antihero"; Music Video

Mighty Music has released the new Liv Sin single, "Antihero". Stream the digital single here, and watch a video for the song below.

Liv Sin continues to unveil songs from their upcoming album. This time, the band led by Sister Sin vocalist Liv Jagrell releases the digital single, “Antihero”, a song with a strong rhythm, a fantastic build-up and a big earworm in the chorus. Another great sign that the upcoming album, produced by Simon Johansson (Wolf, Memory Garden) and Mike Wead (King Diamond, Mercyful Fate), with mixing and mastering by Tue Madsen (Witchery, The Haunted, At The Gates, Artillery, etc) will be another masterpiece.

“The song “Antihero” came to me after yet another mass shooting”, Jagrell tells about the theme of the song. “It is an imagery scenery of brutality and chaos, and the immense fear you go through when searching for a way out of that hell. I wonder what drives a person to do something like that, how someone can have so much anger and hate inside, but also I get surprised every time that nothing change, nothing happens. I’m a pacifist and I can’t really get my head around how the right to have a gun seems more important than human lives”.

A new Liv Sin album is expected to be released in early 2023.

DEFTONES Frontman's CROSSES Announces 'Permanent.Radiant' EP

††† (CROSSES) — DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno's project with FAR guitarist Shaun Lopez — will release a new EP, "Permanent.Radiant", on December 9. The official music video for one of the EP's tracks, "Vivien", directed by Lopez and Lorenzo Diego Carrera, can be seen below.

"Permanent.Radiant" will arrive nine months after ††† (CROSSES) released two new songs, "Initiation" and "Protection", neither one of which will appear on the new EP.

"Permanent.Radiant" track listing:

01. Sensation
02. Vivien
03. Cadavre Exquis
04. Day One
05. Holier
06. Procession

Last December, Lopez confirmed that ††† (CROSSES) had signed a new deal with Warner Records. That same month, ††† (CROSSES) dropped its cover of Q Lazzarus's "Goodbye Horses" as a digital single. The track was previously covered by ††† (CROSSES) back in 2014.

Prior to "Goodbye Horses"' digital arrival, ††† (CROSSES)'s last release was a cover of "The Beginning Of The End" by '90s electropop band CAUSE & EFFECT. Made available in December 2020, it was the first new music from the alternative band since its 2014-released, self-titled record.

Moreno told The Pulse Of Radio how he got involved with the group in the first place, which was started by Lopez and Chuck Doom. "Shaun and Chuck were working together for a while before I came into the picture, and I just so happened to come in one day," he said. "These guys were, you know, writing some stuff and I heard it and I liked it right off the bat, and I sort of weaseled my way [Laughs] into the project. I think their idea was to get a bunch of different singers to, you know, just write different tracks, and... it didn't happen."

††† (CROSSES)'s CD included the songs from the band's two previously released EPs along with five new tracks.

Moreno told Rolling Stone about ††† (CROSSES)' sound: "By listening to the music, you can tell that a lot of the influences come from the new-wave era. That was basically the scene that I came up on. I just happened to wind up in a metal band when I was 15."

Asked about ††† (CROSSES)'s heavy use of the cross in the band's imagery and songtitles, Moreno said: "I think a lot of bands are influenced by religious symbolism and not even necessarily Christianity or Catholicism. Our band definitely doesn't follow any of those. It's more of the aesthetic. The art, the way it works. The initial name of the band was going to be HOLY GHOST. But at the last minute, another band came out with the name, so Shaun suggested CROSSES. It's a very strong symbol. Three crosses is great. It's great to look at, there's three of us in the band."

††† (CROSSES) made its live debut in January 2012 at The Glass House in Pomona, California.

MASSIVE WAGONS Share New Single "Skateboard"; Music Video

On the eve of the release of their new album, 'Triggered!', Massive Wagons have shared the new single, "Skateboard" and its official video. The song is available now on all streaming platforms.Triggered! is available worldwide tomorrow, October 28 via Earache Records.

Frontman Barry "Baz" Mills reflects, "This was the first track to come out of the studio complete, it was the first one we heard. I remember sending it to our manger and she fell in love with it. It’s still her favourite I think, she said it reminded her of the stuff she listened to growing up in the 2000’s, which I thought was cool. It’s a proper great love track, bouncy and catchy! The middle section is my favourite part, which was a late addition. To be honest the song doesn't make a lot of sense - it's kinda about losing your marbles and going a bit mad dealing with what’s chucked at you - but it sounded good so I left it alone!"

Watch the video, created by Video Ink, below:

Triggered! is available for pre-order here on limited coloured vinyl (including green, orange and pink vinyl), black vinyl, signed CD, cassette and digital download. There are also six white vinyl editions available as part of a special collector's bundle, featuring six different front and back covers.

OBSIDIOUS Feat. Former OBSCURA Members Release Official Live Video For "I Am"

Extreme metal outfit, Obsidious, will release their new album, Iconic, on Friday (October 28) via Season Of Mist. Pre-order the album here.

The band have released a new video for the track, "I Am". Obsidious comment: “The concept of the lyrics of this song is a little more abstract. It is the personification of a feeling speaking to its host, presenting itself and convincing the host to embrace it and ultimately succumb to it. It is like the biblical story of temptation being represented by the devil, but, in this case, without the willpower to resist.”

The video was shot during their performance at the Euroblast Festival last month and can be viewed below:

Obsidious are leading the charge for the modern evolution of progressive and technical metal with their debut album, Iconic. Featuring Linus Klausenitzer (bass), Rafael Trujillo (guitars), Sebastian Lanser (drums), and vocalist Javi Perera (vocals), the band has distinguished and lettered origins in Obscura, Alkaloid, Eternity’s End, and Juggernaut.

Obsidious, however, are a different creature entirely. Iconic is technical but not officious, and the album breathes intensity but expands upon it with mellifluent dexterity. With Obsidious, there’s always a hook: Iconic may build upon a prestigious foundation but its vision isn’t restricted to its tenets.

WOLFHEART Unleash Official Music Video For "Knell"

Wolfheart have shared their new video for the blistering song, “Knell”, cut from their recently released full-length studio album, King Of The North, out now via Napalm Records.

Following the sonic legacy of their previous albums, King Of The North resonates with their trademark blend of colossal melodies, earth shaking vocals, gripping lyricism and driving rhythms. After the release of the album and their subsequent, recently-wrapped European tour, Wolfheart strengthen their howls for another round.

“Knell”, the third song on the album, befittingly continues the electrifying mood of the previous songs, creating epic soundscapes along the way. Skillfully combining powerful riffs, hefty instrumentals and earthshaking vocals, Wolfheart show their insatiable hunger for the art of melodic death metal. The new video matches this mood perfectly, relentlessly pulling audiences into the exhilarating world of King Of The North.

Wolfheart's guitarist/vocalist Tuomas Saukkonen adds: "After an agonizing three years of waiting to get back on the road, it was like an early Christmas, birthday and all the kinder eggs from Easter combined to share a tour with the magnificent ULTIMA RATIO package and get to play new songs to our fans across Europe. Having a video shot from the tour is the best way to remember the awesome crew we had, top notch venue staff and especially all those hands in the air, voices from the crowd and the connection between us and the audience interweaved by the music."

Each song on King Of The North is dedicated to a different story of Finnish mythology – underlined by Wolfheart’s grand, crushing songwriting and production. “The King”, for instance, tells the tale of the forest god with horns and pianos accompanying heavy guitar riffs and solos, before raising the energy levels once more on the relentless “Cold Flame” featuring Karl Sanders of legendary extreme metal group Nile. King Of The North is a true masterpiece of melodic death metal, crafted with loads of attention to detail and intricate mythology-driven storytelling – showcasing Wolfheart at never-before-heard artistic levels!

Tuomas Saukkonen about King Of The North: "After Wolves of Karelia it made a lot of sense to continue writing thematic albums, but this time I wanted to travel a lot further in history than 2nd world war and went straight to the tales about creation of nordic world, ancient gods of north and the majestic nature. The colorful theme also inspired me to write the musically most diverse Wolfheart album and also bring the biggest variation of vocals than ever before, putting Lauri and Vageliss in their well-earned spotlight."

Order here.

LEE AARON Premiers Music Video For New Single "Rock Bottom Revolution"

Lee Aaron will release her new album, Elevate, on November 25 via Metalville Records. Today, she releases the official video for "Rock Bottom Revolution", the first single from the album. Watch below:

Elevate: transitive verb

1: To lift up or make higher
2: to raise in rank or status
3: to improve morally, intellectually or culturally 4: to raise the spirits of

Lee Aaron is on a roll. The award-winning, songwriter, producer, and Canadian vocalist blazed back onto the rock scene in 2016 (after a ten-year hiatus to raise her family) with a wealth of original material and more firecracker energy than artists half her age. She’s since produced six new releases, including a live CD/DVD, with Elevate being the latest and possibly coolest addition to this renewed chapter in her illustrious career.

Elevate was written during the Covid lockdown, but rather than allowing that isolation to push the band into a negative place, Lee booked a studio lockout for the fall of 2021.

Elevate contains ten original tracks steeped in what has become Aaron’s signature sound: big guitar hooks, powerful, bluesy vocals, rich melodies and harmonies, and just enough sassy attitude to tip the scales. Aaron has always been known for digging a little deeper with her lyric content, and Elevate is no exception.

Elevate was recorded in Aaron’s traditional fashion: live off the floor with her crack band - Sean Kelly (guitar), Dave Reimer (bass), and John Cody (drums) - at the Armoury Studios in Vancouver with the finishing touches recorded at the band’s home studios. After forging a strong friendship and working relationship with Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams) on the last album, he once again teams up with Lee and the band for Elevate as recording and mix engineer.

About Elevate, Aaron explains, "I think it’s a shame how social media can divide good people. Analytics guarantee everyone has their own special ‘feed’ and you’re never hearing a different perspective – it polarizes people. Elevate is about not buying into that trap; it’s about choosing to lift each other up."

As the title track inspires, "It’s not too late to re-create, let’s celebrate, let’s Elevate - LET’S ELEVATE!"

Tracklisting:

"Rock Bottom Revolution"
"Trouble Maker"
"The Devil U Know"
"Freak Show"

"Still Alive"
"Highway Rome"
"Red Dress"
"Spitfire Woman"

BRUCE KULICK - Former KISS Guitarist Celebrates 25th Anniversary Of Carnival Of Souls Album; Video

Carnival Of Souls: The Final Sessions is the seventeenth studio album by KISS, released on October 28, 1997. Bruce Kulick, who was the band's lead guitarist at the time, has released the video below, along with the following message:

"Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the KISS LP, Carnival Of Souls. Oct 28th, 1997 was the release date of my final KISS LP. With this anniversary I share a medley of songs from COS, performed with my band live from the KISS Kruise VIII as well as me singing 'I Walk Alone' from KISS Kruise IX.  'I Walk Alone' was my only lead vocal with KISS and the last song that appeared on the album. Because of the success of the Reunion Tour for KISS, the LP was given the additional name "The Final Sessions" to mark the end of that era of the band without makeup. It was described as a darker, heavier and edgier follow up to the KISS Revenge release."

South Africa’s VULVODYNIA Release “Artificial Divinity” Music Video

One of the most groundbreaking metal bands to emerge from the region, South Africa's Vulvodynia is back with their first new track since the release of 2021's Praenuntius Infiniti LP. The self-proclaimed Kings of African Metal have unleashed their most earth-shaking salvo yet with "Artificial Divinity" - the introductory offering from their yet-to-be-announced sixth studio album.

Speaking about the narrative concept behind the song, the band shares:

“‘Artificial Divinity’ is about the eventual evolution of humanity by means of A.I. The idea of the extinction of all biological matter, as A.I. becomes sentient and runs afoul of all of humanity’s perversions. We decided to use A.I. generated artwork to fully round off the theme!

They go on to add, "We had been planning out what we thought the perfect single would consist of for a while. Combining elements from our old material, as well as giving the fans something they’ve never heard or experienced from us before, all while staying true to who we are as Vulvodynia. This song is a special one and we can't wait to hear what you think!”

MATT SORUM's KINGS OF CHAOS Releases 'Judgement Day' Music Video

Matt Sorum, the Grammy-winning drummer of GUNS N' ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER, recently signed with AFM Records for his first-ever album with his all-star musical collective KINGS OF CHAOS.

The first single and video from KINGS OF CHAOS, "Judgement Day", is a scorching rocker that was performed and co-written by Sorum and his VELVET REVOLVER bandmates Slash, Dave Kushner and Duff McKagan, and features the Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer on drums, as well as lead vocals.

Sorum said about the "Judgment Day" video: "Drawing inspiration from the 1971 film 'Vanishing Point' morphed with imagery inspired by 'Natural Born Killers', director Brian Cox (BRING ME THE HORIZON, CYPRESS HILL, MISFITS) and I conceptualized a man running from his demons on a wild ride to find redemption guided by The Reverend Willy G (portrayed by Billy F Gibbons),an Angel (portrayed by Matt's fashion designer, choreographer wife Ace Harper) on a motorcycle and his inner child. A Wayward Wanderer searching for the light."

From the Sunset Strip to South Africa, Argentina and Brazil, KINGS OF CHAOS have enthralled fans around the world with their ever-changing lineup of Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers and multi-platinum artists. If you've been lucky enough to score a ticket to a KINGS OF CHAOS show, you might have caught Billy Idol, Steven Tyler from AEROSMITH or Ann Wilson from HEART fronting the band — or even Corey Taylor from SLIPKNOT, or the late Chester Bennington from LINKIN PARK. And yes, that was Slash on lead guitar — or Brian May from QUEEN, or Billy F Gibbons from ZZ TOP. It's a party on stage, and everyone's invited.

"It's a celebration with your bucket list artists you've always wanted to play with," Sorum says.

The debut album from KINGS OF CHAOS is set for release in autumn/winter 2023. Expect original music and guest collaborations with some of rock's biggest names — including some of today's most talented and iconic female artists.

"KINGS OF CHAOS, to me, is the reason I started playing music in the first place — for the sheer fun of it," says Sorum. "I'm so pleased to be partnering with the team at AFM. Working with them on the creative vision for the album has been a great experience."

"Matt Sorum is such an acclaimed rock icon. His clear vision and passion for KINGS OF CHAOS really impressed us," adds Nils Wasko, label manager, AFM Records. "KINGS OF CHAOS will now come to life with an illustrious list of rock royalty joining Matt, and we can't wait to be part of the journey."

Originally formed in 2012 as ROCK 'N' ROLL ALL STARS, KINGS OF CHAOS features a core lineup of members as well as a rotating cast of guest musicians.

KINGS OF CHAOS has recorded just one song so far: a cover of DEEP PURPLE's "Never Before" for the 2012 tribute album "Re-Machined: A Tribute To Deep Purple's 'Machine Head'".

During an appearance on the "2 Hours With Matt Pinfield" podcast, Sorum talked about the project's formation. He said: "The music business is more difficult to navigate than ever, especially for a guy that's been around a while," he said. "I've had an illustrious career, but it's always been, like, super-high, super-low, like riding the wildest roller coaster ever known to man. [Laughs] Emotionally, it's been challenging. When VELVET REVOLVER broke up, for me, it was like, 'Oh my god, I can't believe I pulled off another band.' So it kind of knocked the wind out of me, and I didn't really want to jump back into doing another band or project right away.

"When I started doing KINGS OF CHAOS, it became strictly about fun," he continued. "I decided, 'I'm going to pull a bucket list, [and] I'm going to call guys that I never had the balls to call, and have no fear. There's one or two answers that you can get — yes or no. And you've got to be able to accept no. Don't take it personal. I called Keith Richards. I called Jimmy Page. I called [Robert] Plant. I didn't care. I was just, like, finding them and calling them. And some of them said yes — not Robert Plant, dammit [laughs] — but Steven Tyler, Robin Zander, Billy Gibbons, Joe Elliott, Slash, the DeLeo brothers. I go and play with my friends, and it's a blast."

Sorum is not involved with GN'R's hugely successful reunion, which features singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan alongside drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.

The 61-year-old musician, who replaced Steven Adler in GUNS N' ROSES, recorded the highly successful albums "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II" (both 1991) and "The Spaghetti Incident" (1994). He also supported the group on the "Use Your Illusion" tour and can be heard on GUNS N' ROSES' "Live Era: '87-'93" (1999) and "Greatest Hits" (2004).

Matt was among the GUNS N' ROSES members who were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2012. He, Adler, Slash and McKagan attended the ceremony, while Rose and founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin stayed home.
